I know you said the sources are unofficial but can you please let me know what they are?—the ones that suggest Mai may have helped Zuko in the aftermath of their mother's disappearance?
Oh, you mean when Ursa disappeared while Zuko was a kid?
This is old Forum Talk. Back in the day, when Livejournal thrived and there were individual message boards devoted to topics, you sometimes got little fandom discussions. Sometimes, you'd have people who talked to writers and crew members, whether in person or on message boards.
Also, you had some freelance or part-time writers who would be fans of the show would then be pulled into supplementary work. One of them was Alison Wilgus (writer on Kids Next Door, also, please don't go bothering her, this was ages ago, just trust me), and she helped co-write some of the comics for the Avatar magazine between Book 2 and 3.
The word is that there was a black, heart-shaped stone that Mai gave Zuko when he was feeling down (obviously, we can assume that it was probably when his mom vanished). He was supposed to reveal that he'd held onto it the whole time he was banished-- a cute little keepsake.
This was probably just a draft for the "Going Home Again" comic, and thus has no True Canon Power; something from supplemental information that Aaron provided, or that they brainstormed in a writer's room. They just wanted some way to show that Zuko was always thinking of Mai. But it probably became too difficult to justify him still having it after his whole ship blew up (IT WOULD RULE IF HE'D FOUND IT IN THE WRECKAGE THOUGH) and him going through all of his adventures...and it was just easier to have her play with Jin and express herself verbally.
Bottom line: it's a concept that could be canonized at any time, burt also may just be in the scrap heap with all sorts of things like Equalist Asami and....didn't someone have a sibling or something? Guy Toph, I guess, though that's more extreme.
Again, don't hunt 'em down or bother them. You've just gotta have some faith in me as a Fandom Elder. This is part of the writing process, part of fandom growth. Feel free to use it as fuel, though! Fanart. Fafic. Whatever you want. But overall, it's probably just deleted material that was considered to show connections and just couldn't be organically worked in. Would have added some weight to the end of the Boiling Rock episodes if we'd seen Zuko holding it--showing that he took it with him. But they kinda did a little too much ZK ship-baiting and leaned away from the Maiko melodrama (and I do think it was a little to the story's detriment, but that's My Opinion). This is all just part of the writing process, though...you've gotta find things to streamline.
It's also just easy to assume that Mai probably got closer to Zuko after Ursa's disappearance. Whether through hugs and comfort or just bullying him a little harder to keep his mind off things. Becoming a proper Nemesis. Who knows?
And that's just what I picked up. For all I know, there was a whole deleted plotline where Mai and Zuko fell down a hole or something. Did a Fire Nation Goonies. Again. That's writing. You gotta come up with Stuff and sometimes the Stuff doesn't Stick. Asami was supposed to hook up with Iroh Jr. in early drafts. Things change. Have fun. Life's short.

Injuries from the 'Rally' Group Shenanigans;
Eilonwy: Had a scar beneath her chin after trying to slide down the railing and hitting it on the stone stairs.
Taran: Black eye from trying to teach Rowena how to sword fight with a wooden sword.
Rowena: Got a couple of teeth knocked out when sword fighting with Warren with a REAL sword.
Kiran: Broke his arm and got a concussion during the sled incident after Warren landed on him.
Warren: Bit through his lip, lost three teeth, got a concussion, and broke his nose when the ramp the ground made gave out and sent him flying into Kiran.
Any headcanons regarding these five's shenanigans in their youth?
They stole so many sweets from every royal kitchen available to them.
All five were the bane of every nanny/governess's existence. They were very good at ditching adults when needed.
They were always getting into some kind of mess: dirt, mud, leaves, water, ect. They tracked messes everywhere.
If anyone ever scolded Eilonwy or Rowena for being "unladylike", the boys would put on dresses and act ladylike in place of them.
They 100% made promises by spitting on their hands and shaking on it.
Now I'm just imagining these five in some EF version of "The Goonies" lol. Finding pirate treasure and getting into trouble.
When Kiran's father died, the other four cheered him up the best they could. Giving him cool rocks and sticks they found, letting him be the leader in any games they played, etc etc.
After Eilonwy's death and Warren's banishment, Kiran and Taran tried to do the same for Rowena.
After Taran left, and it was just Kiran and Rowena, most people assumed they were dating (even though Rowena was eleven and Kiran was like thirteen/fourteen), but they ignored them, and continued to be very close.
After Rowena "died," Kiran kinda fell into a depression, since all his friends were dead or missing. Which was why he was so eager to befriend Pen when she comes into the picture.

Ada: Why is Pride reporting having more weapons' production than food producers? I can count a hundred less farms than gun manufacturers.
Lucifer: Sinners and demons place guns higher in value than food, Ada. With the high amount of violence plaguing Pride, so many would prefer to be able to defend themselves, and scrounge for food later.
Ada: With the population of Pride steadily growing, it would make more sense to put food before guns, Lucifer. Especially since all those mass-produced guns are probably just helping to fuel all the violence. You've got large reports of poverty inside the cities, and larger reports outside the cities, in the more rural areas, where the farms and food suppliers exist. Look at the numbers for food production of two farms compared to the output from one gun manufacturer's factory on the city outskirts.
Lucifer: ...that's...appalling.
Ada: This gun manufacturer already has two other factories within Pentagram City. Why would they NEED two other factories? Is one not enough, so they need three to keep almost every Sinner in the city armed?
Lucifer: Those are Carmilla Carmine's factories.
Ada: The Overlord with the hair horns?
Lucifer: She's not to be taken lightly, Ada. Carmilla has hundreds other factories located throughout Hell. She's actually Hell's top weapons dealer. She's not like the Vees -- she has real influence outside of Pride, even if she primarily runs the entire show in Pentagram City.
Ada: But she's still a Sinner. And that means her influence is ultimately limited. She can have all the powerful friends she wants outside Pride, but, when it comes down to it, she's still bound to this ring.
Lucifer: I know that look in your eyes. That scheming gleam. I don't want you setting your target on Carmilla Carmine, Ada. Things are more complicated politically where she's involved, and attacking her would cause waves not just in Pride, but throughout the entire rings as well.
Ada: Relax, goony. I'm not throwing any stones until Oz is safe out of my womb. Doesn't mean I won't start taking notes in the meantime.

stepping stones to hell ch. 5 (ronance fic)
hello!! all previous chapters can be found here!
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
Robin splashed cold water over her face then dried it with a towel. Sleeping on the tour bus was so hard which made waking up when she was able to sleep in her own bed rough. She stared at herself in the mirror, studying the bags under her eyes. She was supposed to meet Nancy at one and not intended to sleep until eleven. It just sort of happened.
She brushed her teeth then made her way back into her room. As much as she loved touring and playing shows, she loved being home.
The band had been fortunate enough to start making very very good money. The first thing she had done was buy a small house on a bit of private land. She had put a lot of thought and work into decorating her space so it really felt like her home.
Her bedroom consisted of various things. She had a king sized bed with black silk sheets and red pillows. She had a large framed movie poster for Back To The Future with the same guitar Marty played at the prom mounted on the wall next to it. On the left side of the room was a large dark brown wooden dresser.
On top of the dresser was a jewelry box shaped like a coffin, a gift from Eddie that he handmade himself. On the inside of the coffin were places to hang necklaces and earrings. But on the door he had painted the date she had joined the band in small pink numbers.
Though she wasn’t the greatest plant mom, she did have a small cactus sitting in the window sill as well. Succulents didn’t need much attention so it was easy to keep this alive while touring.
Her closet was a decent size which was good since she collected lots of silly t’s while on tour. Anytime they were able to stop and explore a city she always looked for some sort of cheesy shirt or hat.
Typically though, Robin would have chosen her favorite David Bowie shirt because she wore it everywhere. However she didn’t wash the shirt before they left for tour. So, she instead grabbed some jeans and a Goonies t-shirt.
She brushed out her hair and decided to wear a navy blue ball cap free of bad jokes. She was about to head out the door when her phone started to ring. She hurried to the kitchen to pick it up, “Hello?”
“Hey!” Steve’s voice came from the other end. “I just wanted to let you know that I love you, and I’m proud of you. What you’re doing today is a big deal.”
Robin’s posture softened and she managed to choke out, “Thanks, Steve. I love you, too.”
“Okay, well. Be safe, I’ll see you in a couple days. Call me if you need anything, bye!”
“Bye,” she said before hanging the phone back on the wall.
She took a few minutes to water her plants that weren’t succulents which by some miracle had also survived while she was away. She really needed to make friends with the closest neighbor so she had someone keeping an eye on things.
She heard the clock in the living room ding which meant it was twelve. She had an hour until it was time to meet Nancy and had about a forty minute drive. “Shit,” she sighed, grabbing her car keys off the wall.
Robin never really got better at driving. She actually hated it and reminisced frequently on the days Steve chauffeured her around. She hated being behind the wheel with so many cars on the road. Too many people honking, not enough people using blinkers. It was stressful.
The one thing that got her through driving every time was her trusted cassette. The Cranberries’ album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We. She never changed it. It was her true comfort, not to mention she believed now that if she tried to change it she would wreck or something wild would happen. Not that that surprised her, she had been superstitious since she was a child. However, being self aware of that fact didn’t mean she could change it.
The closer she was to arriving at Petey’s, the more anxious she felt. Even though it was a cool day outside her palms were sweating. She gripped the steering wheel tighter. This is the right thing to do. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to shout your truth.
Robin reminded herself that every single person she truly loved already knew and they still loved her. She hated that she even felt like this was a struggle. She was proud to be herself. Though it had been a long and hard journey, Robin loved herself. It was just the things instilled in her when she was younger that left herself under lock and key.
She took deep breaths as she pulled into the parking lot. You are okay. She reminded herself.
She stared at the building and watched a small group of people leave. At least this would be in Nancy’s hands. Though they hadn’t had a continued friendship through the years, Robin knew she could trust her.
She got out of the car and looked around the parking lot. She wondered what Nancy drove or if she was here yet. “Robin!” She heard her name being called behind her.
She turned to see Nancy standing at the door, waving. “Hey!” Robin followed her inside the cafe.
Robin forgot how much she missed this place every time she came home. She looked around, admiring the new menu. The last time she had been in was spring time so the chalk menu had flowers, easter eggs and was done in bright pink and purple colors. Now that they were on the cusp of Fall the menu was brown, red and orange. There were pumpkins in the bottom corner of the menu with a ghost in the center.
“I have a table in the back,” Nancy stated as they walked through the establishment.
Nancy already had her pen, paper and voice recorder out. They took their seats and Nancy smiled at Robin, “How was sleeping in a real bed?”
Robin groaned, “You have no idea how awful those stupid tour beds are.”
“I know how much I hate sleeping in motels for work so bus beds have to be worse.” She sipped at the white mug on the table.
“Do you drink your coffee black?” Robin asked, a bit disturbed after noticing the contents of Nancy’s mug lacked any color.
Nancy raised an eyebrow at Robin, “How do you drink yours?”
“Definitely sugar and half and half. I prefer a fun little flavor, maybe like mocha or something.”
Nancy nodded her head, “That checks out.”
Robin scoffed, pretending to act offended. “What is that supposed to mean?”
She laughed and shook her head, “Nothing. It’s just.. Well, you look like someone who couldn’t stomach black coffee.”
Robin rolled her eyes but smiled as a woman approached their table, “Good afternoon. Would you like to order anything?”
“Just a coffee, lots of cream and chocolate please.”
The girl nodded before parting quickly. “Now, Robin Buckley, drummer of sensational band Corroded Coffin who, if I may add, is taking the world by storm. What are the things you must tell me?”
Robin was enjoying the side of Nancy. The times they had spent were during scary and traumatic events. There was little room for humor then so this change was nice. “Right into, huh?” Robin asked, starting to feel nervous again.
“Well I’m just so curious what it is that has you wanting to waste time with me on your two days home.”
Robin tilted her head, “If I wasn’t here I’d be home alone watching the same movies I always do.”
“Fair enough. I guess I’m just curious.”
The waitress came back with a purple mug and handed it to Robin who thanked her. She sipped on the coffee for a moment, debating on how to start the conversation. She tapped the handle of the cup before taking a breath. “Okay, so. I know the article is about me being a woman and my success but also the struggles I’ve faced just because I’m a woman.” She paused and Nancy nodded for her to continue.
As Nancy tapped the ink pen against the page Robin noticed her nails were painted green which was Robin’s favorite color. She wondered what Nancy’s favorite color was. Then she knew she was distracting herself instead of just saying it. “Okay. Fine. It’s more than just being a woman in the industry. It’s being a queer woman. I’m gay. I’m a lesbian. And I know, I know I haven’t been out. So, I know it’s unfair to say I’ve faced struggles as someone who is in the closet but I have had my own obstacles. I know how hard it is to be gay during times like these. I have been terrified to speak my truth and be myself. You and Steve both said yesterday to just be me and I can’t do that if I’m too much of a coward to say it. I have been at protests and I’ve labeled myself an ally but it is so so much more than that.”
Robin paused to take a breath. It felt good to say it. Nancy was staring at her, pen unmoving. She blinked slowly then nodded her head, encouraging Robin to continue. “I have been scared my whole life of living my truth and I’m done hiding. I want people to know. I want my fans to know that I’m proud of myself and them. I want them to know if they’re gay it isn’t abnormal. It isn’t all the cruel things people say in the media. It just is. C’est comme ça.”
Nancy took another drink of her coffee. Her eyes told Robin she was searching for something to say. “This is a big deal. So let me say, I’m proud of you. Let me also say-“
Robin couldn’t help but interrupt her. She was scared Nancy was going to shoot the idea down. “I know this is a sensitive topic. I know that it can cause a lot of backlash to She Supremacy. I know this but Nancy, this is so important to me.”
“Robin, this is important to me too.” She laid a hand over her heart, “I am honored you trust me with this. You’re right, this is a sensitive topic. It’s your livelihood and of course you are going to receive backlash. However, we all have. It’s part of it. But, the good it brings will outweigh anything bigots say. You will be happier. You can love freely. And also, you have the ability to save people with this information. I know you know how scary being gay can be simply because there are people who hate you just for existing. She Supremacy is a safe space. We will run your story. I just want to make sure this is what you want. This is your privacy. But, like I said, you sharing your story could help so many people.”
Robin let out a breath of relief. Nancy seemed to understand so well. “I’m hoping it does. I know what having Elton John did for me and I just want to be able to help.”
“I think it’s very brave of you. I would love to write this in.” She paused for a drink of her coffee, “So, do you want to come out in the article or casually mention that you’re a queer artist? We can do the big thing or be subtle.”
Robin closed her eyes in thought. She had never been good with words. But, Nancy Wheeler was better than good with words, she practically owned them. “I… Think you should write it. I think however you can word it best. I want to be out. I have been to a few protests and stuff but, I want them to know I’m fighting for them and me too.”
“I have some ideas. It will take me a couple of days to write and I know you will leave soon. Here,” she ripped off a scrap of her paper and scribbled a number down on it. “Call me by Tuesday, it should be done by then. I’ll be home after two, so anytime after that. I’ll read it to you and you can let me know what to do.”
Robin pocketed the phone number and sighed. She leaned back in her chair. She had never felt so free in her life. She was going to finally be herself.
Nancy packed up her things into a brown satchel. “I’m really excited for this. I think it’s going to be a hit. And, not like in the way I want to profit off you,” she started to rush her words. “I don’t mean that. I just want it to reach more people because what we do is important.” She squeezed her eyes shut then laughed lightly. “Sorry, I just wanted to be clear. I didn’t want you to think I was using you or something. This story, your story, is very important to me.”
Robin smiled genuinely, “Thank you, Nancy. This means so much to me.”
She stood from the table, taking both of their receipts. “Thanks for agreeing to meet today. I’ll talk to you soon?”
“Soon, sure.” Nancy gave her one last smile then stood from the table. “I can get my coffee, Robin.”
Robin shook her head, “You get it next time.”
Nancy threw her bag over her shoulder then shrugged slightly. “Right, well. I look forward to your call.”

For those who grew up in the 2000s, waiting for the next Harry Potter film installment was a thrilling and unifying experience. As kids all around the world flocked to their local theaters with wands in hand, Harry and his fantastical friends reminded us of the magical powers of friendship, bravery, and love. While the movies got progressively darker as the characters grew up and had to battle ever-looming forces of evil, the first films remain pillars of delightful, whimsical escapism — save for the near-deaths of multiple twelve-year-olds — and this is largely thanks to director Chris Columbus. What many people don’t know, however, is that Columbus passed on another once-in-a-lifetime directorial opportunity for Potter, turning down the Spider-Man franchise in favor of the wizarding world.
Chris Columbus Chose To Direct 'Harry Potter' Over 'Spider-Man’

Known for writing and/or directing hit movies like The Goonies, Home Alone, and Mrs. Doubtfire, by the time the early aughts rolled around, Columbus was no stranger to working with kids and yielding great results. Having been persuaded by his daughter to read the Harry Potter books (at which time only the first three had been released), Columbus immediately had a vision for the films and wanted a shot at directing the now-iconic series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, after hearing that there were many others eager to helm the franchise, Columbus requested that his agent secure him the final meeting with the film’s executives. He presented a “130-page document-slash-screenplay” outlining his vision for the movie, and long story short, the powers that be were very impressed with the eager director. Columbus secured the gig and went on to direct both Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
However, Columbus revealed in an interview with Screen Rant that right after he landed Harry Potter, he got the offer to direct Spider-Man. Having grown up a huge Marvel fan and citing Spider-Man as one of his childhood heroes, getting the chance to re-introduce the web-slinger to the silver screen seems like it would be a no-brainer for Columbus. Nevertheless, while he acknowledged that directing Spider-Man would probably be the realization of a lifelong dream, he went with Harry Potter and never looked back. Sam Raimi was hired to captain the Spidey ship, and the rest is history. Even though it was undoubtedly a tough call, Columbus has no regrets, and said in the special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts that working on Harry Potter was “the greatest experience of [his] life.”
Columbus Expertly Captured the Joy and Whimsy of ‘Harry Potter’

While it couldn’t have been easy missing out on Spider-Man, there’s no denying that Chris Columbus was the right man to direct the first two Harry Potter films. In Return to Hogwarts, Columbus got to reunite with Harry Potter himself (Daniel Radcliffe), and the two discussed their work on Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. Although you’d never know it when watching the behind-the-scenes footage, Columbus confessed to Radcliffe that while working on the first Harry Potter, he was incredibly nervous and felt like he was “dying.” This is definitely understandable given that he was responsible for setting the tone in a massive franchise, but Columbus ensured that his anxieties wouldn’t bleed over and impact the kids on set. Many of the stars of Harry Potter, including Robbie Coltrane, Tom Felton, and of course, the golden trio of Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, and Radcliffe, complimented Columbus’s knack for working with the young performers on set, saying that he made them feel safe and let the kids be kids. While “letting the kids be kids” resulted in a lot of long days and re-shoots given that the kids in question were exploding with excitement at all times, Columbus’s good nature evidently contributed to the youthful, nostalgic feeling that is so well-executed in the first films.
Beyond just his personable directing style, Columbus’s creative eye greatly influenced the look of the Harry Potter movies. From real stone floors to real, lit candles dangling from the ceiling on fishing lines, the director’s commitment to making Hogwarts feel grounded in reality despite the magical elements made the stories feel all the more real to both the actors involved, and the devoted viewers. Despite the success of the first two Harry Potter films, however, Columbus seemed to recognize that all good things must come to an end, and he bequeathed his directorial duties to Alfonso Cuarón for the third installment, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Columbus revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that filming the first two Harry Potter films took upwards of 320 days, and that he felt that he was missing out on watching his kids grow up. He went on to serve as a producer on the third film to help maintain a better work-life balance, but afterward, the director hung up his pointy black wizard’s hat and walked away from the franchise for good.
The Director Isn’t a Fan of the ‘Harry Potter’ Reboot at Max

Harry Potter is soon to be getting a polarizing facelift in the form of a reboot TV series, the likes of which we know very little about. What we do know, however, is that Chris Columbus isn’t a huge fan of the idea, not seeing the point in remaking a franchise that has already been done well (which, as we know, has never stopped the studios before). Furthermore, given author J.K. Rowling’s disappointing tailspin into transphobia, continuing to expand the Harry Potter franchise has brought up difficult but important conversations about just how far we’re willing to go to separate the art from the artist.
While it sucks that a franchise that brought comfort and hope to so many has been marred by its creator’s hateful statements, Columbus’s Harry Potter movies continue to exist as joyful celebrations of friendship and resilience. For many fans, Harry Potter still offers an unparalleled escape from the hardships of the everyday muggle existence, and we’ll always be grateful that Columbus decided to leave the Spider-Man movies to Sam Raimi, who got to forge another iconic film franchise in his own right. While the Harry Potter frenzy shows no signs of stopping, Columbus left his own indelible mark on the franchise, and all we can say is, mischief managed.

tag people you want to catch up with/get to know better
tagged by @starkey thank you!
last song: Good Ol' Fashion Nightmare, Matt and Kim
last film: The Goonies my beloved
current/last read: so I'm on my annual Goblin Emperor/Cemeteries of Amalo reread, halfway through The Grief of Stones, and as always Thara Celehar is finding new ways to break my heart. Love to watch a protagonist convinced that everyone finds him scary/distasteful while all around him people are visibly going "oh i'd kill and die for him actually". Even the ones that do think he's a little scary.
currently watching: ohhhh boy the list of things I am halfway through would fill several books, i am simply Bad At Watching Television, but the thing I'm being most persistent about atm is Wheel of Time season 2. I'm very lost and experiencing serious outfit envy, it's great, ten out of ten would recommend
current obssessions: you have actually caught me between obssessions, the eight months or so of Batfamily ao3 spiral seem to have finally cleared and nothing new has sprung up to fill the void! The closest I've got is that I'm getting big into autumn this year? I've been thinking about intention and celebrating the little things and choosing joy and making your own traditions and all that, and I love autumn and I didn't want it to just slip by this year - so I'm making apple crumble and getting my granny's pumpkin pie recipe and crocheting little ghosts and pumpkins for bunting and going out and staring at trees a lot, and i'm having a pretty good time with it :)
tagging anyone who wants to get in on this, brain is soup decisions are hard etc

the less likable goonies pt II
ft @xkilljxy @xavecamour @notwaldenpond @hauntedscreams
"get down!"
damocles and walden visibly startled at the familiar voice as antonin and winnie searched the line of shrubberies for where it originated. he had to be hiding nearby somewhere. underneath a particularly shady pine crouched the distinct, ,sleek outline of one alexander zabini.
as usual, he was clad head to toe in black clothing. sly and secretive, alex could go virtually unnoticed in the unlit forest without speaking. he grabbed the back of antonin's shirt who in turn grabbed walden's arm. they all stumbled back into the brush as a werewolf burst into the clearing.
"what are you doing here?" "what are you doing here?" "what are you doing here?"
winnie laughed as the beast turned on damocles and leapt forward, baring it's fangs.
"it is a full moon!" alexander hissed the exact same explanation for his absence that had been given earlier in the evening. of course he was doing what he did every full moon now.
emma howled from the clearing.
"they said you knew we were doing this!" walden argued. he shoved alexander's shoulder forward. "why would you lead her over here?"
"l-lead?! the hell do you mean lead?!" alex cuffed walden on the back of the head in reply. "I can't lead her anywhere!"
the werewolf paused and turned toward the sounds of bickering. their ears twitched and nostrils flared.
"she's too fast to-" antonin clapped a hand over both their mouths. there was nothing save for the sound of breathing for a brief moment.
then a branch snapped under damocles shoe as he stepped backwards. the lycan's attention returned to him. he quickly tried to take another step away from the feral thing but the heel of his shoe caught on a root and he stumbled to the dirt. emma lunged forward, snarling too close to his face.
"here puppy!" winnie clapped both hands in front of her.
alex ripped antonin's hand off his mouth. "winnie, don't you dare-" his fear was warranted. still before he had the chance to move, walden wrestled both alex's arms down and pinned them behind his back.
"hey. calm down. don't make it worse just trust them. alright?" walden hissed. "they won't kill it if they don't have to I bet." he did not budge against alex's straining even as winnie plucked a stone off the ground.
"beastie~" she called again in a sing song voice and nailed the wolf in the snout with the rock. emma yelped. walden winced. damocles stood back up. winnie widened her stance. alex struggled against the hold on him, and antonin pulled out his wand. emma turned from damocles completely and pounced in a lunatic fury at winnie instead. winnie sprung forward and anchored her elbow underneath their jaw while swinging her leg around the creature's back the same way she would handle an unruly dragon hatchling.
"damocles!" "dam!" "I'm working on it!"
the previously flustered potioneer now possessed completely concise focus as he rifled through his bag for the right bottle.
"oh, take your sweet fucking time, dam!"
"would you shut the fuck up?" damocles produced a potion of a dark color purple in his palm. "winnie move! now!"
without hesitation at the short verbal instruction, winnie dropped her hold on the smaller werewolf entirely and fell hard to the ground. she tucked a shoulder and attempted to roll swiftly away, but did not clear it before claws sank into the flesh of her bicep and tore open a wound. damocles hurled the potion into the air, and realized in a second that it was not going to hit it's target.
"antonin!" "-leviosa!"
thankfully the reaction was lightning fast as antonin whipped his wand arm down in a sharp arc helping the glass to shatter across emma's face. the purple liquid splashed across their nose, eyes, and into their mouth. emma dropped suddenly to a fuzzy heap on the forest floor.
everyone waited frozen in the bright moonlight until a snore ripped through the air from it's chest. they all released a collective exhale.
"...so that went well."
four heads all panned in synchrony towards antonin.
damocles chuckled outright at the wry humor. "that is not the same thing as 'that could have been worse.'"
"is she going to be okay?" walden pointed.
alex pulled free of the now lazy hold that walden had on him and barrelled over to the sleeping wolf as damocles started to inspect the distinct lacerations down the back of winnie's arm.
"yes. it's a simple sleeping draught." damocles muttered. simple, but powerful. he prodded a finger into the skin next to winnie's wound and she slapped him. he rubbed his face. "this is not going to stop bleeding without silver powder and dittany."
"so? who cares?" winnie snarled.
"leaving a trail of your dna is a fast way for a thief to get caught."
walden's eyebrows scrunched together and caused a big wrinkle in the center of his forehead. "get caught? where are we going again?"
alex, now satisfied that emma was, in fact, only sleeping, gestured over to a ratty looking duffel bag half buried in leaves next to the near pine tree. inside were bandages prepped for potential lycanthropy related incidents and several clothing items for different seasons.
"we are breaking into gringott's tonight."

Beautiful Spouse’s Rewatch Thoughts SPN 15x16 Drag Me Away (From You)
“They’re trying to make the music sound like it came over the speakers, but the reverb tail is wrong for the room” “doctor’s orders?” “does he keep his zombie wife in there or something?” “fkn serial killer or what?” “yeah that’s not healthy” “moral of the story: Believe in everything just in case it can kill you” “everyday we’re closer to man bun Sam” “is that the real reason why they cancelled the show?” “such an unusual pairing idk” “that interior is…I want the family room in the basement to look like that. It’s fantastic” “is he dead yet? Doesn’t look very dead yet” “how the hell would you recognize someone like that? I only know a handful of people I’d recognize after that many years” “don’t we know that’s true since all the demons and ghosts are back?” “just gotta show that clip to every school across the country and no kid would try to steal candy again” “actually don’t show the clip. Make it happen every time” “what was the nod for? Ok fine I didn’t have to ask” “Dean’s awfully sure that he killed it” “we’ve never watched the goonies, have we?” “he’s really going to let her walk into danger like that, huh?” “don’t make promises you can’t keep” “I don’t remember how to play that one” “so who is the one who got killed then? Was it the younger? I don’t understand” “is it a younger dead version of yourself or something:” “don’t bother explaining it” “oh I get it now” “I wanna know more about this memory hole” “love how someone slaps the bottom end of a piano every time Billie shows up” “welcome to the intergalactic 1 percenter club” “what a dick thing to say” “are they each turning independently into bombs?” “she just told Dean to man up. That’s what that means to me, anyway” “Get your house in order grrr” “don’t you normally say something? Or is this stone hanging out in her trunk? Alone?” “that was like a bathroom scream. Not an outside scream” “ah yes the smoke machine under the door” “dead give away” “or just the dry ice thing” “oh never mind. Got me” “that’s funny that was actually pretty good” “what is Dean thinking when he shakes his head like that?” “sure” “the good drugs I guess” “what was that jar? Did you catch it?” “how’d the other lady get there?” “that lady will never be the same” “and after 25 years, they have the same fkn cell number? After how many credit cards and stolen phones?” “what happens to Cas then? That’s the rest of the angel types. I suppose the demons can come back, too. Do they come back?” “hmm”

For the 4 goonies! 🐹🎒
Ooh great questions! Little heads up, I don’t have the best expertise with Pokémon, but I hope I answered these to your liking!
For the Pokémon:
Lily-Incineroar: The idea of her having a large fiery wrestler cat as her companion sounds like too much fun to her. Also she’s totally teaching them how to Stone Cold Stunner their opponents lol.
Lily’s a fire type trainer since it seems to match her head first, strike fast mentality.
Maya-Blastiose: She’s definitely one to go for an original, and also believes in sticking with who you started with. She probably got sentimental over the idea that they evolved all this way together. Also it’s good for her to have a tough companion by her side!
She’s gonna be a water type trainer for sure. Someone’s gotta balance out Lily somehow hehe.
Ossie-Lucario: A fighting Pokémon that can sense aura seems like it hits home for Ossie. He’d appreciate a companion that would keep them both out of potentially dangerous situations, especially if something seems too good to be true.
Ossie would totally be a Steel Type Trainer. Very fitting for the team mechanic.
Ash-Corviknight: “bro that is the most metal bird I’ve ever seen!!!” -Ash
She’s either going to be a flying type trainer or a poison type trainer. She thinks birds are neat and also would enjoy the idea of being able to fly around with them.
Now the 3 belongings
Lily-The photo of the trio with Athena that was taken at the first race they spectated, Her emergency flannel, a box set of her favorite manga.
Maya- Her racing helmet, her lucky high tops (wears them every race), a sketchbook. (Honorable mention: the hoodie she inherited from her dad, but it’s originally her dad’s. So it misses the cut)
Ossie: His emergency tool kit, the trio’s summer cassette tape they recorded in 2045, his first car.
Ash: Her drum sticks, an mp3 player, her personal journal (that might also be a song book)
#oc rambles#lily#Maya#ossie#ash#lakeside overdrive#I really had to wrap my brain around some of these!#made me really think it through#thank u sm for the ask!!!
