i LOVE yertle triolgy (for sure one of my top songs i wish they'd play again). something so sexy about a funky funky 13 minute jam where yertle the turtle segues into freaky styley which segues into a funkadelic jam which segues into untitled #2. every second goes SO hard with that specific cali era energy, just immaculate vibes tbh

The Greater Kingdom smelled like concrete. It was a quickly growing nation, and new roads and building foundations were popping up everywhere. You couldn’t escape the smell of wet concrete.

L’Manberg smelled of blaze powder and mud. Well, to be more accurate, the camarvan smelled like blaze powder and mud, and the then-few citizens of L’Manberg carried that scent around with them. Even after L’Manberg grew to a proper size after the revolution, it smelt of wet dirt and dewy grass from the lakeside to the port, and their president’s fingers were always lightly dusted with blaze powder everywhere he went.

Manberg smelled like smoke and sewage. Industrialism, they called it. No one wanted to admit that they didn’t know how to navigate the ex-vice president’s sewer system, so they left it to rot. (It served as a great escape route.)

New L’Manberg had an ever present stench of gunpowder. It stuck to everything, old and new. Even as they lit scented oil and floated them across the sky, even as they used the strong-smelling spruce (the Vice President hated the smell of spruce—oak was far better), the capital city built over a crater never lost the smell of gunpowder. It seemed to stretch all the way to the borders of the Greater Kingdom.

So I was thinking about when Keith suggested Charlie not wear pants and then I remembered the video of the Ya-Yas cover photo session and someone there suggesting Charlie go naked beneath his coat (or cloak or whatever that thing was). So was this another burden Charlie had to bear? People suggesting he be naked when performing various tasks? The poor man.
