It's always the people who claim to understand the work it takes to crochet that expect to be allowed to simply borrow something I've made or get it for cheap. If you "know" and "respect" the craft how about you pay what it's priced, and then send a tip too. Cause you "get it" and all that.

Sure, I charge 3 dollars more than minimum wage where I live. That's still 7.50 less than a living wage per hour that I charge! If a project takes a long time but less yarn I drop the supply costs! I'm already giving discounts you're just too selfish and too full of "I want" to be genuinely respectful to artists and artisans.
