Finished Code Realize. I can see why it's so popular, it's very well written. The story is structured in a very solid way, with good foreshadowing. It's a bit fluffy for my tastes (I tend to go for darker and edgier stories) so I don't think I'll pick up the fandisks anytime soon, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Remus Lupin x fem!reader ♡ 1.1k words

Remus knocks at your door tentatively. He’d known something was off when you’d left dinner early, vague about why you had to get home but urgent in a way that unnerved him. He’d followed you out of the restaurant, hoping to catch you in the parking lot, but you’d already gotten on your bus. Remus knew you were probably fine, but he couldn’t shake his anxiety about the way you’d left and he’d made his excuses a few minutes later, ignoring the jeering protests of his friends as he set out for your apartment. 

After knocking again, he tries the handle, surprised and a bit alarmed to find the door unlocked. He calls your name as he steps inside hesitantly, wary of startling you if you’ve gone to sleep or have just gotten out of the shower (that’s something he’d like to see under more consensual circumstances). “It’s Remus,” he says into the dark apartment, feeling a bit silly. “Are you here?”

“Rem,” a soft voice comes from the direction of the living room, “what’re you doing here?” 

He moves toward the sound. “I came to check on you. Sorry for just letting myself in, but you left dinner so suddenly and I…oh, sweetheart.”

He finds you on the couch, all curled up with your face pinched in obvious pain.

“Honey, what happened?” he asks, crouching beside you. His hand comes up to pet your hair of its own accord. 

“Nothing, I’m fine,” you say, the strain in your voice belying your words. “I just came home because my stomach was bothering me.” 

Remus feels his brows pinch. “It hurts?” you nod, seeming embarrassed. He can’t imagine why, it’s not like you’ve any control over that sort of thing. “Do you think it was something you ate?” 

You’re looking down at your knees, held tightly to your chest. “I…kind of,” you sigh. “This happens sometimes. Like, when I eat a lot of the same thing, or greasy foods.” 

Remus nods thoughtfully. “So like, when James won’t stop piling fries onto your plate all night, and you feel like you have to eat them?” You look sheepish, and James is going to feel awful when Remus is through with him. He’s going to make damn sure nothing like this ever happens again on his watch. “I’m sorry, lovely,” he says. “Is there anything I can do to help?” 

You hesitate. “I’ve got ibuprofen in the bathroom, but I haven’t wanted to get up. Could you bring it to me?”

Remus squeezes your shoulder lightly, standing. “Of course, sweetheart.”

 He hurries to the bathroom, finding the small bottle of pills under the sink and bringing it back along with a cup of water. He shakes a couple of tablets into his hand, passing them to you, but withholds the water when you reach for it. 

“Sorry.” He really is. “You’ve got to sit up to drink it, don’t want you to choke.” 

You shuffle into an upright position, bracing your back against the couch with your knees still drawn tight to your front, and Remus hands the cup over. You swallow the pills with a light exhale, as if you’re already anticipating the relief they’ll bring. 

“Thanks, Rem.” 

“It’s no problem,” he replies, and he hopes you understand how much he means it. “How long does the pain usually last?” 

You sigh. “A couple hours. I’ll probably just lie here and wait it out, I won’t be able to get to sleep until it stops.” 

Remus tries not to pout at you, his heart aching with sympathy. “If you’d like, we could watch a movie or something,” he suggests, adding quickly. “But if you want me to leave so you can relax, I completely understand, love.” 

You ponder for a second, your face still tight with pain. “No, that sounds nice,” you say after a second. “A distraction could help, and I’ll be more relaxed with you here anyway.” 

Remus has to turn away so you don’t see the full force of his smile, occupying himself with your television. He holds up a movie for you to see, putting it in the VHS player once you approve. You waste no time in snuggling up to him when he sits next to you on the couch, and Remus wraps his arm around you happily, rubbing gently up and down your arm. You all but melt under his touch, softening against his side. 

It’s a few minutes into the movie before he works up the courage to ask. “Do you think it would help,” he says, hoping his voice sounds at least remotely casual, “if I rubbed your stomach for you?”

You look at him in surprise. “Remus, that’s alright. You don’t have to.” 

“I don’t mind,” he says, and he doesn’t. Even though he’s giddy from the feel of you pressed up against him, he’s not offering as some excuse to touch you. He just wants so desperately to help. Seeing you in pain is like a gut punch every time he looks at you, and if there’s anything that can make you more comfortable, he wants to be the one to do it. “Really, I just want you to feel better.” 

“Okay, yeah.” You relax your grip on your knees, letting your thighs fall a few inches from your stomach and making an opening for him. “That’d be nice, thanks.” Remus watches your face, wary of any signs of discomfort as he brings his hand to your midsection. 

“You’ll tell me if I hurt you at all, yeah?”

“I will,” you say. “But you won’t.” 

Remus glows with your surety in him, but he’s still cautious as he draws his hand in small circles, gratified when you sigh. The movie casts blue light across your features, so he can see you a bit better as the crease between your brows evaporates, the tension around your mouth easing. Remus does his best to look like he’s watching the movie, but all his focus is on easing the upset in your abdomen, adjusting his methods any time you react even slightly in the positive or negative. Soon you’re completely molten against his side, blinks slowing as your eyelids start to droop heavily. 

“Did the ibuprofen kick in?” he asks softly. “You look like you’re getting sleepy, dove.” 

“I dunno,” you yawn, laying your cheek on his bicep, “maybe.” 

Remus almost hates to suggest it, but he’s not quite selfish enough to keep himself from asking. “If you want to get to bed, I can go.” 

“No, can you stay?” you yawn again, hugely. Remus tries not to stare, but you look adorable, cheek squished up against his arm and face soft with sleepiness. “Just until the movie’s done, please?”

Remus adjusts you against him, slouching so that you can lay your head on his shoulder without hurting your neck. “Yeah, of course I can stay, lovely.” He resumes rubbing your stomach, dropping a quick kiss on the top of your head. “I’ll stay as long as you’ll have me.”

Harry Potter was definitely not waiting for Draco to come home. He was simply sitting on the couch with a good view of the door, doing paperwork he didn't need to start until Wednesday. It wasn't like him and Malfoy were close anyway. They only lived together to make it easier to share custody of Teddy (Harry's godson and Draco's cousin). He yawned, glancing over at the clock on the mantel. It was half past midnight and he had to get up early tomorrow--- it was pancake morning and his turn to cook. Harry knew Draco could take care of himself, so he gathered his papers, readying to stand up. Then the door creaked open softly, and there was his house mate, standing in the doorway. "Oh." He said quietly. "You're still awake." "Yeah." Harry felt a soft surge of relief at the sight of him. He knew that there wasn't really any danger now, but he couldn't completely shake off the old patterns from the war. Draco removed his coat, shaking the snow off the shoulders before hanging it up. Harry had only seen a glimpse of him when he'd stuck his head in Harry's room to tell him he'd been heading out. Now, though, as he kicked off his shoes, Harry could see everything from the unfairly tight grey jeans, to the green lace long sleaved shirt. Both left very little to the imagination and he swallowed. Then, he noticed the hickies. They were everywhere, dotting his neck and chest, there was even one half hidden by the waistband of his trousers. Harry clenched his fists, unsure why exactly this tinged his vision with red. "Who." Malfoy looked confused for a second, then smirked. "Why do you care, Potter?" I don't bloody know! "Who." He growled. Draco leaned back against the door, crossing one ankle over the other. "An incredibly alluring man named Jacques, at the pub in town." Harry clenched his jaw and gritted out, "so you fancy them French, then?" His smirk widened. "Well I do find it rather attractive to have someone speak French around my cock." Harry was hit with two desires, twins in their intensity. The first; to learn to speak French as quickly as possible, the second; to find this Jacques bloke and hex him with the worst spells he knew. Or at least hit him over the head a few times with the candlestick on the sideboard. He did neither, instead standing up and leaving his papers scattered across the coffee table. As he made his way up the stairs, he called over his shoulder, "I'm glad you found someone suitable, then." He thought he heard Malfoy mutter something, but he was hardly going to stop and ask him to repeat himself. Only when he closed his door and slumped against it, did he finally let himself admit what he had been fighting all evening. All year, really. He was head over heels for Draco Malfoy.

Draco Malfoy shut the door quietly behind him, surprised to find a light on in the living room and Harry on the couch. "Oh. You're still awake." Harry set down his stack of papers. "Yeah." There was a soft emotion behind those words that felt almost intimate and Draco smiled to himself as he began to unbutton his coat. Logically, he knew Harry hadn't been waiting up for him. But then again, maybe he had been. Draco shook the snow off of his coat, and hung it up on one of the hooks by the door. He had to admit, once him and Harry had finished the cleaning, Grimauld Place was cozy. It was starting to feel a bit like home. He felt Harry's eyes on him and looked up, only to find the other man's gaze sweeping over him slowly, from head to toe. He blushed, watching with no small amount of satisfaction has a faint scarlet flush rose on Harry's cheeks as well. Then something changed in his expression and mouth tightened. "Who." What? Then he remembered the multitude of hickies scattered across his body, curtesy of Jacques' careful attentions. He'd been handsome, ridiculously good in bed and not quite enough to make Draco forget about the magnificent man standing in front of him. Close, but not quite. "Why do you care, Potter?" He asked, trying to keep from smirking too much. He had a theory of why exactly it mattered to Harry so much. He could practically hear the other man's teeth grinding as he demanded again, "who." Draco crossed his arms and informed Harry, "an incredibly alluring man named Jacques, at the pub in town." "So you fancy them French, then?" Harry asked, envy evident in his tone. I fancy you, Potter. I fancy your kindness, your tempter, the way you always swing Teddy around when he gets home from Andromeda's on the weekends. I fancy the way you look with a bedhead; making pancakes in your pajamas, and the way we hold each other up after bad nights. I fancy your smile and your laugh. He didn't say a word of that, though. "Well I do find it rather attractive to have someone speak French around my cock." Even though they always had a silencing charm on the main floor so they wouldn't wake Teddy, he still found himself speaking quietly. Harry's hand twitched towards his wand, and Draco wondered if he'd finally gone too far in pushing Harry's buttons, but then he stood and strode towards the stairs. "Well I'm glad you found someone suitable then." He called over his shoulder. "Hardly." Draco murmured, though Harry was already out of hearing distance. It was only once he heard a door close upstairs that he let a grin spread across his face. Harry James Potter was jealous.

5. Best personality trait

Listen, Harry is not the pure and perfect cinnamon role that Remus Lupin and a lot of the fandom think he is, and he can absolutely be cold and deadly and hotheaded and make snap judgements and be startling ruthless. BUT at the same time, I still think he has a great capacity for kindness and for caring about others which is a strength of his. He is an extremely contradictory and complex character, which is what makes him so interesting. I really feel that his nuance and layers and complexity are often overlooked.

13. Dumbest thing they’ve ever done

Alerted everyone at the Ministry to his presence by taking Moody's eye off Umbridge's door. Like I get why he did it but really Harry? Now is not the time. Moody would never have wanted that. Also you didn't even know Moody that well. Book 4 Moody was a fake. And the eye was not worth getting yourself and your friends killed.

14. Most heroic moment

Trying to duel Voldemort in book 4 despite having no expectation of winning and being terrified inside because he was determined to try anyway.

15. Worst thing they’ve ever done

Using Crucio on one of the Carrows, enjoying it, and not carign that he did. Tho honestly I usually don't count that moment bc it's badly written and feels ooc.

he's very good at considering other people's perspectives. the way that he treats severus & how he deals with sirius and molly show a lot of empathy, and he's good at intuiting what others are thinking/feeling. unless, of course, it's their opinion of him

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

In a prev ask I mentioned Alphard being gay and having muggle lover(s). I have another/complimentary idea for this one - Alphard was in love with / used to hook up with Lyall Lupin. They are roughly the same age and this could be done as a really nice parallel with wolfstar (kinda how the marauders themselves are the parallel to the golden trio era characters). The homophobia of 40s and 50s where homosexuality was still a crime vs the much more open (but obviously still pretty much homophobic) 70s and 80s. Unrequited love (Lyall married a muggle woman after all) vs required love. Alphard who was too afraid to oppose his pureblood and most likely homophobic family vs Sirius who was a blood traitor and run away. 

In my notes I have this idea written down as “Alphard had a crush on introverted but eccentric ravenclaw. Parallels his nephew’s fascination with the lupin boy” 

(if someone wants to use it as prompt, feel free, I probably wont touch this idea in the nearest future, but pls tag me so I can see it!)

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)?

Im not 100% sure how to answer this one. 

Most fandoms I'm in / used to be are based on TV shows, one's a movie franchise technically a really long inconsistent TV show and one’s a western animation cartoon (In my mind I classify this one as a TV show too bc I generally don't watch cartoons).  

Plus there is HP. Cant say its my fav book or fav source text for fandom stuff bc there are many inconsistencies and plot holes and such (the. hogwarts. express. stations.) But it is the hell I'm in right now. 

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?

In HP - the golden trio (especially Ron & Harry) (tho i dont spend that much time thinking about non S & non R characters) & obviously the marauders (especially remus & james and sirius & lily)

In MCU - Steve & Natasha <3333 and Steve & Sam

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what?

I named Dwarf Sirius and this is my greatest contribution to crack cursed AUs. I'm also encouraging Cat in her Shrosting (Shrek posting), that itself should count.

hehe okay so i kind of view bonnie as also quiet and a little introverted (compared to elena and care at least) so once i read u dont like loud noises i was like “yes this bonnie is her gf”. bonnie and you, before u dated, loved to talk abt supernatural stuff. like you always supported her talk abt her being a medium, witch, etc. she really found comfort in u bc her friends didn’t believe it at all, but to know that someone as close to her as u were believed her, honestly it made her develop a crush on you. (and lets be honest, youve always had a crush on her ever since yall were kids hehe). so when she finds out that shes a witch, ofc youre the first person she told. and omg i just imagine her being really nervous and scared bc even tho you support the theories and stuff, she still doubts that in the end, youll think shes a freak. so when she confesses she stutters a lot and (this is so cliché but like anyways hehe) you do the only thing you think will relax her + it just felt right: you kissed her. and that’s how yall became girlfriends! hehe. you two are def the hottest couple in mystic falls, like sorry not sorry elena and stefan. you two often explore the tunnels and you read her grams’s grimoire bc its hella cool. omg and bonnie is so overprotective of you and she never wants you to go in missions but you always weasel your way into her heart and she caves in hehe. OMG AND WHEN ITS YOUR BDAY SHE’LL DEF USE HER MAGIC TO HER ADVANTAGE. LIKE SHE’LL MAKE FLOWERS APPEAR, FoOD, ROMANTIC LIGHTING, GIVE U CRYSTALS OR SMTH. AHHH. neieownnw ok moving on lol

male hp ship - remus lupin

you two love sneaking out into the library together in the dead of night and reading together. remus will steal james’s invisibility cloak and whisk you away for a very romantic and mischievous evening. you two hit the kitchens first, of course, and then sneak into the library. you find an old book written in french while remus finds smth written in latin, and you both find a corner and curl up next to each other. sometimes youll have him read the latin texts to you. you love hearing him speak foreign language. its just so romantic ahhhh. you also keep a very private diary and one time remus stumbled upon it while tidying up the common room when u went to the bathroom. it ended up falling out of your bag and remus decided to go against his morals and read it. its then he discovers that you like-like him. he also discovers that you write in very beautiful cursive and you describe your feelings so beautiful, hes sobbing at your words lol. you end up walking in on him reading and youre furious, but more embarrassed than anything. he decides to play it cool and while youre screaming at him hes like “you like me?” and youre like “well of course i do, but not right this-” and remus just walks up to you and kisses you (awwe) and he pulls away and says “i meant like-like me, love” and you just melt in his arms and just uGH. i want this lmfao. (lol dont mind me writing a fic abt this)

It happens to be a russian blue cat and it says I can really relate to cats, also I love them

there are so many...Umbridge....Filch....Pansy...James....Peter uhm...If I think hard enough I probably can name even more (Dumbledore!!) :D And sorry I’m bad with reasons 

12: Which character deserved better and why?

Hedwig! She was nothing but good and pure and she just tried to protect Harry! (also Lupin and Tonks and Fred :( ) 

13:  If you could swap one dead character for one character that survived, would would you revive and who would you kill?

this is the first time I’m sorry Snape died :D okay then I’m gonna exchange Umbridge for...for...this is hard...for Fred? 

14: Which character would you like to know more about?

I’m gonna come back to this...aaaah there are so many characters but I have to say as things are now I don’t want to know more about anything because *cough* cursed child *cough” kinda healed me of this. although....if you’d have asked me a few months ago I’d have said Grindelwald but that’s a thing fbawtft ruined for me :D 

15: Which character do you feel you have the most in common with?

it says “the most” because I don’t really feel like I have something in common with anyone but...maybe...Luna? not really tho 

18: What would be your favourite and least favourite Hogwarts classes?

I’m still not sure if I’d love or hate potions so it’s a candidate for both :D I think I’d really like charms and I definitely would dislike history of magic because...yes It’s magic but still...history...ew 

22:  What do you think Amortentia would smell like to you?

it just smells like things we like right? It doesn’t have to be specific for a person or something... a bonfire? fresh grass at dawn and elder flowers (I hope it doesn���t give you a mix of all of these because this would ruin the smells) 

25: Which of the Deathly Hallows would you pick and why?

the wand because I’m stupid 

26:  What is your opinion of Dumbledore and his actions throughout the series?

ooookay I’ll try to put this as short as possible because I could probably write an entire novel about it :D did he have the right to treat especially Harry like he did? NO! not at all. But do I understand his actions on some level? yes I do. I mean it’s already said in his backstory...what he did, he did (in is opinion) for the greater good. and I don’t think you can put normal standarts on times like this. it was war. 

Still I’m sure there would have been other ways to defeat Voldemort...well...okay...maybe not...after all Harry was a Horcrux. But he could have given Harry a better home at least. Let’s just say I don’t like him (I really really don’t...I forgot him on my list earlier I need to add him) but I don’t envy him for the decisions he had to make because...someone has to make them, even if it’s horrible to do things like that but in the end someone always has to take the blame and in this case it’s him. 

27:  What is your opinion of Snape and his actions throughout the series?

asshole...I mean I’m enjoining him as a character but he’s disgusting and redemption ark my ass.

it’s quite funny though if you think about it. Dumbledore raised Harry to sacrifice himself in the right moment but he always treated him with respect and then there’s Snape, the exact opposite. He tried to keep Harry alive but treated him like crap. I think I almost like Dumbledores approach better 

28:  Do you agree with Dumbledore’s statement, ‘Sometimes I think we Sort too soon’?

uhm no. like....then don’t sort at all? but if you do I don’t really think it matters when you do it because (I know, jk’s writing tells us otherwise sometimes) no one is just...evil or smart or a good friend or brave or something like this. and I think it’s really important that there are very diverse people in the different houses so it doesn’t come to stereotype behavior in the first place. and if there is a hufflepuff who would have fitted into slytherin as well....or whatever...does it really matter? the sorting hat must have had some reason to put him into hufflepuff and the personality traits that were responsible for that don’t just disappear just because he suddenly starts showing more traits of a slytherin. and if he does...good for him the houses don’t define people, it’s the people who define the houses. 

this probably only got this long because I wanted to proof dumbledore wrong because I can’t stand him :D 

30:  If you could ask JKR one question, what would it be?

mmmh when I’m reading the books I always find details that don’t fit or stuff I want to know more about but right now I can’t think of anything :D that’s sad...
