Inktober day 23, slightly belated because I was away, but it's uploaded now. And here are the other pictures.

I'm attending a party I'm not invited to, which is a family reunion for a family I'm not part of, in order to steal a sarcophagus I don't want, for the sake of a man I don't want to follow the orders of.

The dress is very makeshift; the jewellery was kindly lent to me by a very helpful clanmate. I did my best to look the part, I even put on shoes! Well, sandals. But still!

@catbatart's Inktober Challenge: Day 7 - Dragon

(Admittedly belated, but I'm still making way better progress than I anticipated.)

Known as the Stinging Cockatrice, the Habroptile Manticore, the Gremlin Drake, or the Chimeric Sloth, Strigops Draconis is actually an unusual form of pseudodragon. This specimen, known as Pepper by her handler, has taken to pilfering apples in an attempt to incubate them. Don't let her cuddly appearance fool you, her strong brooding instinct has led to a number of her keepers being brought to a medic after experiencing her very painful sting, and still more losing good trousers and boots to her foul, caustic breath weapon. Best to let her keep her "egg." And we all know what they say about apples and doctors.

Worth zooming in on this one. I have no idea how I managed to make the wings actually look like translucent skin, but by god I fuckin did it. And once again, I'll be reblogging a version with a Hero Forge link, because Pepper here started out with "what if I put ears on a penguin?" And just escalated from there.

Day 15 (very belated) of Inktober Freeplay

So I got really anxious about art and posting and stuff for like three straight days (still going strong but whatever) so I’m going to ease slowly back into drawing and sharing my art by showing off my idea of cousin Aloysius. I have some general info hcs I might drop later and maybe I’ll draw some of the other family members sometime soon but for now, it’s Aloysius. :)

What's your opinion on writing challenges like nano or monthly prompt lists? Have you ever participated in one? Do you plan to?

Hi and thanks for the ask! (And belated happy STS *cough*)

I think they are fun to watch from the outside, but although I have never attempted a writing challenge so far, I have failed several times at Inktober and concluded that "do thing daily for a month" really doesn't work for me.

I never manage daily (due to outside commitments and/or migraines) and then I have to catch up which means having to do more, which makes it more likely that I miss another day and then the backlog builds up and then I give up completely around day 20 after having managed 12 days x'D

I can mostly work with a "do thing daily" thing if I can either cheat some way on days where I can't or where I have some sort of mechanic for skipping days and still finishing/not having to start from scratch.

Inktober Day 12! @relfanalae asked for a scene with Helga, Torolf, Siv, and Torbjörn going out dancing (before they lost the family fortune). I’m not sure which I like better: the idea that Torolf and Helga are slow dancing while swing dance music is playing, or the idea that Torbjörn and Siv are swing dancing to a slow song. ^_^

I Don’t Keep My Visions To Myself:

Inktober 2020, Day 31

Okay, yes, it is November 1st, so in the end, I didn’t manage to complete 31 drawings in 31 days. But let’s just say it’s close enough.

I don’t think the original Ocean Spray/Skateboard/Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” tiktok clip by @420doggface208 was particularly popular at our house, but both our kids and my spouse showed me spin-offs.

I was initially a bit confused by the video clip of a man drinking out of a Titebond glue bottle (The woodworker version). Our younger son showed me the Halloween version by Kiel James Patrick (a clothing company) featuring a pumpkin headed person (wearing a stylish sweater) who pours something in a Starbucks cup (a pumpkin spiced latte, one presumes) onto, and into, his jack o lantern head.

By then, I had looked up the original bit by a Nathan Apodaca. I observed that the parody videos did not quite have the looseness of the original, or the aesthetically pleasing composition of selfie arm draped in fluid sweatshirt material, so I tried to take the best of each. Minus the wood glue of course (sorry!)

Inktober, Day 13: Ash. I have a few belated daily fills I’ll be working on and rolling out here -- this last week was my first week at my new job, so I’ve been pretty damn busy. Here’s Hickey and Gibson in civilian clothes, inspired by 1840s men’s fashion plates with their multiple prints and cigarillos. (Still monochrome Higgins Black Magic wash and tiny tiny nibs... though please imagine Gibson wearing very loud plaid.)

belated Day 29 of inktober. we have a Yamanbagiri Kunihiro. probably the last Touken ranbu character for this inktober. i mean two days left... and i still have to do day 30 as well today... yeah anyway i like drawing touken ranbu characters, and doing the discord requests combined with me flipping trough the artbook for one at random, was interesting. and i sure did not make it easy on myself half the time with the drawings XD. but it's fine if you yourself did more easy drawings. or didn't even draw for inktober yourself. we all do stuff our own pace and some have lives to busy for something like this. not much to say on this drawing however.. see ya later.
