#i can not just give kurt a cousin and make her parents it wont work#i have to make kurts aunt/uncle and Then their daughter u know#it has to be a. i have to work my way to it. i have to work out the dynamic of a sibling#i cut that tag off early bc i had a Thought. originally i was thinking ab it being on his moms side but oh#oh kurts dad having a sibling. that sibling always being in the shadow of their olympic gold medalist (older?) brother#trying to. have a better kid than them. whatever that means#the outside pressure kurt faces vs what his cousin faces being compared to him#the. the way it should make her Hate him but some part of her is. shes very.#its complicated like she admires him bc she was Raised To but also sees herself as above him bc she Has To Be#but also they r friends and she wants to know him and befriend him#still a sunnyvaler but theres this distinct knowledge all thru both sunnyvale and shadyside that shes. different to him#hes a Horton (rich heavy weight to the name special kid) and shes a horton (happens to have the same name. not an authority or threat)#or even a different last name or hyphenated#different last name but with horton tacked on as a status symbol#theyre Not Them but theyre Almost Them and they need that to feel like theyre enough#they dont have the mansion or influence but they need to believe theyre just as good#if not morally superior somehow#(shock horror: they're not)#(they might even be worse)
