Reposted from @steviewonderlegacy In his own words:
«Innervisions gives my own perspective of what’s happening in my world. That’s why it took me seven months to get together. I think it’s my most personal album. I don’t care if it sells only five copies – this is the way I feel».
50 years ago today (August 3, 1973), Stevie’s landmark recording “Innervisions” was released.
As great as Music of My Mind and Talking Book are, Innervisions is where Stevie Wonder made a quantum leap into that rarified creative air in a manner that only a handful of artists have ever managed to do in the history of pop music.
The record is a smart and beautiful observation of the situation that existed in America in 1973, seen through Stevie’s mind’s eye. Far more than any of its predecessors, Stevie explored a whole spectrum of emotions and issues such as love, pain, joy, tragedy, spirituality, drug abuse, anger, humour, philosophical musings, poignant social commentaries, you name it. And all this expressed in music as powerful, stylistically diverse and resonant as anything Stevie had put out, without ever sacrificing his extraordinary pop sensibility.
A few days after the album’s release, Wonder suffered a car accident that nearly took his life. For a moment, it seemed that Innervisions may have been his last recorded statement. Thankfully, he survived and continued into the prime of his creative career. #Innervisions50

"Like a long lonely stream I keep runnin' towards a dream Movin' on, movin' on Like a branch on a tree I keep reachin' to be free Movin' on, movin' on" - Stevie Wonder
I had this song on my mind this morning. For some reason, I thought it was by the Rascals, but I was wrong. After looking it up I remembered, of course.
Did you know that you never stop dreaming? Well, it's true. But after many years go by, the things that you find wonder in change. It's called maturity or experience, maybe both. For example, I thought I would want a new car when I retired, but you know what? I don't care about the car, and I barely use the one that I have. What I want is to sit and stare at the sky, watch the birds, and take a photo or two.
"I live in that solitude, which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity." - Albert Einstein

An all-time favorite album
I never really had an all-time favorite album. For me, it was more about a collection of songs gathered from different albums. My generation’s definition of album and music meant big stereo systems, and of course, cassette tapes. Cassettes typically came in 60 or 90-minute lengths. We’d record songs on them and share them with friends, which was considered pretty “cool” back then. One side of…

Truth Or Reality As We Know It (Part Ten)
Check us out as we come through dropping Sunday morning type of knowledge based on the truth or reality as we know it! Hungry / thirsty, geeked up for it? based on their truth or reality as they know it that voracious grip was evidence. Dangerous is…
