I'm going to be insain and compare bill cipher and Steven univers for a second spoilars for book of bill and Steven future.

So obvously Steven and Bill are opists as charters but they both end up in declining mental health and I want to focus on the framing of that a little.

Also note that book of Bill has about 2 pages to set up framing for the therapy situation and Steven future is like a whole season so obvouly it's more nuanced than book of Bill but they both care a LOT about there main charters mental health and, if you look at Bill at the end of book of bill and Steven at the start of Steven future there in a similar place mentaly.

They both

- can't cope with the past that created them

- feel rejected by anyone who is "ment" to love them (conie and ford repectively)

- they both feel a failure to live up to "what they where ment for"

-they've both hit a wall in there growth that they have to take the first step in fixing

Now one thing Steven univers dose that's genius is materaly give Steven everything he's asked for. His homes not in dange, they have money, Steven has friends. Steven is set and yet that dosnt fix his mental health .

Now book of Bill works really hard to also set up that Bill's material needs are met that he dosnt need to be evil like he is but , he's choseing toxic copeing becuse he won't heal. I just think I really dose drop the ball on that reading by makeing Bill's conditions in the end miserable. I've seen people get sad that Bill is like "in a bad place" witch is a natural reaction to have you see someone suffering it's good to want to prevent that even if it's "desvered". Also I don't belive in corpral punishment either so I don't like philosophical think Bill despite the like torcher and such. Makeing Bill's suffering come form a external sorce makes it seem like something that can be fixed posibly by dear reader. If he had been given everything someone needs to be happy and still isn't it'd be obvous it's a interal problem he needs to be willing to solve.

Bill will always be torching him self for his failures for his past and for his own existence untill he desides to work on it.

And on a personal note both as someone who's suffered with poor mental health and some one who's been to show my cards a little abused it's not a good message that Bill's problems are seen as external.

As someone who's been abused it's a really tempting thought trap to think "well if my abuser just had better conditions then they'd be better more loveing careing not a ass" and it's never true. Maybe if they'd work on themselves sure any one can change but most abusers would rather die quite litterly.

And as someone with poor mental health the message you are the one geting in your own way you have to be open to help and change is a naritive that gives the mentality I'll and tramatized alot of agency. Now of corse real world it's not always that simple but in our fiction if where imaging a world where there are resources of plenty we should also imagine a world where someone just has to make a choice to ask for help. That's the one way Steven univers is very successful is imagining a better world. Also something to be said about phycward jokes not being very cute in the year of our lord 2024.

New Steven Univers OC

This is Labradorite

She is a forced fusion of a Aquamarine and a Pearl however due to her shards being placed perfectly together, she looks like a regular fusion with only one gem.

Labradorite likes to wander and has a mind of her own. She spends her time wandering around the structures the Crystal Gems have been and hanging around other forced fusions (if she can find them) and (unredemed) Peridot.

Labradorite really dislikes stressful situations and arguments in general. Labradorite uses her cute appearance to avoid them, giving the person that started the conflict baby doll eyes and overall being cute. If that doesn't work, Labradorite will make a quick escape using a smoke bomb to cause a distraction and make a quick escape.

Being a forced fusion, Labradorite has the abilities of both a Pearl and an Aquamarine, I.E. she can show projections from her gem and she has water wings.

Labradorite enjoys being near people because (to her knowledge of humans) some humans are unable to hurt cute things, like pets and beings able to give them big Doe like eyes, aka the puppy eyes.

Small facts about Labradorite:

Labradorite does stick around for SU Future as an idol, usually sporting star sunglasses

Strangely enough, Labradorite can fuse with other, completely stable gems.

Speaking of fusion, Labradorite can unfuse to a certain degree

Happy 3rd anniversary to Steven Universe: Future/Feliz 3º aniversario a Steven Universe: Future

Wow three years already?! God it feels like yesterday when this spin-off series got announced back in november of 2019 and realesed on this very day back in 2019....time flies so fast, that I am genuenly scared of it sometimes XD. Anyways, I need to grab my old phone and listen to some old audio recordings I did with the recorder app I had on my old phone, god those are the funniest shit I’ve ever done lol. Anyways, again, happy 3rd anniversary to Steven Universe: Future ^u^. I think I’ll rewatch it to day or tomorrow who knows

Dios parece que fue ayer cuando este serie spin-off se anuncio en noviembre de 2019 y salió en este día de diciembre del 2019...el tiempo corre tan rápido, que me da miedo a veces XD. Necesito agarrar mi móvil antiguo y escuchar otra vez a unas grabaciones que hice con una app que tenía en mi antiguo móvil, Dios, esas fueron las mierdas más graciosas que hice en toda mi vida lol.
