as much as i want steve to have a father i absolutely need STEVE AND EL INTERACTION more than anything…..

i want steve to have a younger sibling so bad it’s not even funny and i think steve 100% has a soft spot for el and protects her at all costs even though she doesn’t need it

i see steve as not having lived his childhood to the fullest and i think el would be a perfect younger sibling figure he could have to have an “excuse” to introduce her to all the fun things he never got to indulge in as a kid

Hello!!!! I just wanted to pop by and say hey! And I’m really curious what were your fav parts about season 4? Also you don’t have to give a full list. You can give general points if you want to

Hii. You really got me thinking there with that question because there was some really good bits in season 4.

First off I loved the introduction of Eddie (even if he was taken from us too soon 😭) Loved his character, reminds me of me in a way because he's a big old nerd and a rocker.

Speaking of nerds, also loved the way that Erica has just completely embraced her own nerdiness (especially with her d&d character and other general knowledge and stuff)

The group dynamics this season were amazing too (even if some were more side-lined over others in my own opinion) The Hawkins gang in general being my fave dynamic of the season, i like how Nancy and Robin became more friendly towards each other over the course of the season.

I liked getting to see more of El's past in the lab and Will embracing is feelings (even if he did hide what we all know are his true feelings for a certain someone)

Loved our platonic soulmates of Steve and Robin, especially Steve being Robin's no. 1 lesbian supporter and encouraging her to be herself around Vicky.

I think probably one of my most favourite things about the season though was getting to see Murray go all unhinged with his flamethrower on the Demogorgon to save Hopper and Joyce, i've decided he is my spirit animal.

I know there's probably more things i liked about the season but that's all i can think of at the minute.

Omg you like spn too!! I like spn! And a spn fan who hates Dean!! Let’s go!! Lol that was a lot of exclamation points. But yeah Dean honestly gets worse and worse as the series goes on. And the worst thing is that the narrative sides with Dean everytime. So whenever him and another character gets into a fight/crossfire, Dean is always right in that situation. And it’s just sooo annoying. I saw your post about what you hate Dean and yeah I hate that the fandom turned the whole jack thing into Dean ‘being a father to jack’. Like god it’s annoying and it’s so weird cuz Dean tried to shoot jack on so many occasions that it’s very concerning about his actions and the actions that the fandom did. Also question: how many seasons did you watch of spn?

OH DAMN! SAME HAT!!!! I love to see it. hating on Dean can be a huge no-no in this fandom so finding others is fun.

Yeah, that's one of the biggest issues I have with him. The worst thing that could happen to a character you already don't like is the narrative constantly siding with them, even when they're totally fucking up. Dean can trick his brother into consenting to possession, but Sam getting mad at him for it is crossing the line and he has to come back to him no matter what? Stupid af.

Me: *seeing gifsets of Dean bullying and abusing Jack and driving him to self-harm* can't wait to see how the d*stiellers spin this one

D*stiel fans: he was grieving Cas 🥺 no but look he was nice to Jack in this one scene, he's such a dad!! 🥺 *ignoring Sam being an actual dad and actually trying his best with Jack, relegating him to Uncle status*

Like. okay. y'all hate John Winchester for abusing his kids after his wife died, but Dean abusing Jack after Cas dies is totally fine.

Honestly, I got through the first season and the first few episodes of season 2. I enjoyed it, but I was never a binge-watcher and so my watching just kind of petered out after a while. I've watched some episodes of the later seasons too, and I absorbed a lot of info from fandom and reading the wiki, so I know a lot of what happens later.

End of Year Creator Tag 2020

(Low-key cheating because I only published 5 works in 2020 but, you know, here’s to hoping I’ll get more writing done in 2021 😂 )

1. The Cavern and the Koi Pond: (19k, Avatar: The Last Airbender) Zuko gets yanked into the Spirit World with Zhao and goes on a journey of self-discovery in order to escape. Roku and Yue watch with popcorn  and provide commentary, while reflecting. So, this was not only my first ATLA fic, but the first multi-chapter story I’ve published since, like 2013. It was so fun to write a kind of folktale-esque story with the least likely folktale protagonist, Fang Mango providing emotional support, and pretty much everything involving Roku and Yue’s dynamic (underrated duo). Also, the amount of people who found the math-obsessed River Spirit amusing was incredibly validating because I spent the whole drafting process going “please let this not be only funny to me.”  

2. The White Lotus Gambit: (21k, Avatar: The Last Airbender) Following the death of his father, Prince Lu Ten is sent to track down the Avatar to prove he is ready to take the throne. It provides an excellent cover story for his work as a spy for the White Lotus, right up until the Avatar appears for the first time in 100 years. Longest story I’ve published to date! In terms of scope and scale it was a pretty huge diversion from anything I’d written previously. But even still, I was really happy with the relationships and emotional moments I was able to develop, particularly between Lu Ten and Sokka and Lu Ten and Zuko.  

3. Kit-Kats: (1k, Stranger Things) Waiting for Will to wake up, Dustin reflects on his friend group and candy that splits evenly into four pieces. This is kind of cheating because I wrote this in 2019 after s3 came out, but I revised and published it in 2020, so I’m counting it. Dustin as a character is just absolutely delightful to write. I loved being in his head, and getting to explore the somewhat fumbling, but genuine, beginnings of his friendship with Steve. 

4. Soft and Messy Things: (2k, The Umbrella Academy) Following the world’s worst family reunion, Diego and Klaus discuss the terrifying prospect of losing control. I wrote this as a gift for my sister after we binged s2 in, like 3 days, thinking it would be the only TUA fic I ever wrote (oh my sweet summer child). Diego and Klaus’ relationship is one of my favorites in the show, and getting to explore it was such a great time (even if, you know, they weren’t having a great time). I also really loved writing the excepts from Vanya’s book.

5. It’s So Dark Outside Tonight: (4k, The Umbrella Academy) When Ben dies (for the first time) Klaus finds himself struggling to sleep. Thin walls mean Diego is as well (sometimes, it’s easier to say you’re taking care of someone else). One of my favorite things to write (and read) in TUA fics is the massive discrepancy in the ways people perceive the academy, from the marketable kid heroes phenomenon, to Vanya’s understandable but misguided jealousy, to former fans after the fact going “hey...wait a minute,” and getting to explore that here was amazing. These kids and their complicated emotions and inability to communicate.

3. Favorite scene?

Steve and the kids at the Junkyard. Man, I love everything. You have Steve’s Terrible Romantic Advice. Lucas and Max on the bus roof. Steve and Dustin’s friendship cementing because Steve is both crazy and awesome. And an excellent fight scene showcasing Steve Harrington’s Uncannily Good Survival Instincts and immediate willingness to die for the kids. 10/10

14. Favorite line?

Steve: “Hey, hey hey. This is not happening. No buts. I promised I’d keep you shitheads safe and that’s what I plan on doing. We’re staying here- ON THE BENCH- and we’re waiting for the starting team to do their job. Does everybody understand that?”

Mike: “This isn’t a stupid sports game!”

Steve applying his actual specialized knowledge to make an excellent point while trying to avoid child endangerment? Mike being a little shit? Joe Keery’s towel acting? Excellent. 

19. Favorite duo?

While I do think they should have some time apart next season- Steve and Dustin, hands down. The fact that it was essentially a happy accident makes me love it even more.
