it's totally Danny's fault for dangling a picture of everything Steve ever wanted but could never have in front of him, unlocking levels of yearning he didn't know he had in him. if he wants Steve to control himself maybe he should stop going around picking up random babies and looking like the dream.

A Stranger Things Steve Harrington Eddie Munson fic summary for an idea I will probably never have the energy to write.
So to start off it's a few years down the line and Eddie is touring with Corroded Coffin and Robin is getting a degree in something cool and Steve has dabbled with college but didn't really find it to be to his liking. He thinks about what makes him happy and it's of course Eddie and Robbin and the kids. Since his parents are the ones with money he decides to talk to them about his big idea. He wants to buy Hawkins high school (idk why it's not being used, maybe they built a new one) that he went to and convert it into a large house where he can become a full time foster parent.
Surprisingly his parents are more than happy to bankroll this project since they have been looking for ways to help the family name with volunteer work but neither of them were interested so this way they can say they are helping children in need and that their son gave up everything to be the best foster parent he could.
Steve is excited and tells Eddie and Robin. Eddie is on tour so can't do much but Robin starts helping all the time. Her and Steve pick out rooms for themselves and then design every classroom into a bedroom complete with walk in closet and bathroom. Each room has a queen bed, a desk with a good chair, beanbags. They figure it's best to keep things simple where the kids can easily decorate the rooms to their liking.
Robin gets given four tomato starts out of a red wagon on her way home one day which starts her on a gardening adventure. They are able to plan out an amazing garden and playground.
Steve's parents are in town and decide to take Steve to the mall to shop for some bedding/accessories for the house (and get photos for their bragging networking).
Eddie finds out about the mall plans from Steve and drives straight to the mall to meet him at the food court. He's just off a tour but wanted to see Steve who is so excited that Eddie put him above sleep. When Steve sees his parents he asks if Eddie wants to hang out with them but Eddie is way to tired so declines. They both stand up and give each other a good hug, arms wrapped around the other with their noses tucked into the others neck. Eddie leaves.
When Steve is shopping with his parents they start asking about his friend. Steve doesn't really elaborate too much as he is occupied on picking the best most fun things out he can.
His parents ask him to dinner the next night and tell him they wouldn't mind if he wanted to bring someone else. Steve is oblivious. At dinner his parents ask increasingly less subtle questions before finally just asking why Steve had never told them or introduced them to his girlfriend. Steve gets defensive about Robin and they're like no we know she's gay, your girlfriend from the mall.
Steve is flabbergasted. His dad starts asking if it's because his girlfriend dresses too alternative or looks too masculine and thought that they wouldn't approve. Steve doesn't know how to explain.
He ends up telling Eddie all about it and Eddie agrees to a harebrained scheme of playing Steve's girlfriend. Shenanigans ensue, including two oh shit I'm attracted to my male best friend crisis's. They end up kissing somehow, Steve confesses that Eddie is a guy not a girl and his parents are like yay now our selfless son is also gay which gives us another in to certain society members and events.
Eddie and Steve foster many kids, and adopt some. Eddie gets to be a famous rock star and Robin lives at the house with them and her eventual partner so the kids end up with four parents. All around a good time.
@steddiehyperfixation I had this idea and was hoping you'd have thoughts on it lol.

Disabled Billy and Steve Week
Day 4- Personal Heroes
My prompt: the iconic Joyce Byers
-•-•-•-•-
“Oh my goodness, what a surprise!”
Joyce opens her door to a stoop full of smiling faces. Steve, Chrissy, Billy, and Eddie dropped by for a visit to their mother in law. Her warm, inviting home, although no longer inhabited by children, has been a place they can come any time for a nice meal or a trip through old photo albums of either Steve as a little kid, when he was once kindergarten best friends with Jonathan, or of Billy through his recovery when she’d adopted him as her own.
It’s only been a week since their last visit, but since they usually make time for two trips, Joyce, her son, and his three partners, are all overjoyed.
Though Joyce does give a little warning, in between the hugs she gives to each of them, “Before you come in, I have to say, it’s a bit of a mess in here. I haven’t had time to clean.”
Everyone knows who it’s for, because Billy’s ocd has been known to get overwhelmed by things being in places he’s not used to and cause him to start picking his skin to pieces. She doesn’t make a big deal of it or say that directly to her son though, since she knows it’ll make him more likely to react.
Ultimately it must be okay, because Eddie takes the lead and assures her, “We’re just dropping in for a few minutes, Mrs. B. It’s no problem.”
So she steps inside and lets them all in, Steve entering last since he’s pushing Chrissy's wheelchair today. It serves almost as a mobility aid to him too, keeping him upright and stable to lean on Chrissy's chair just a little. His biggest fear is having a cataplexic attack while he’s helping his wife get around, but they all assure him that they can see the signs and help him before that happens.
They settle into the living room, the boys in a row on the couch with Chrissy pulled up right beside them, and Joyce in a soft recliner across from them. Out of nowhere her new baby, her golden retriever, comes dashing into the room, and jumps straight across the three on the couch, demanding pets from all of them.
Joyce chuckles at the puppy she’s been working to train since her nest became empty, “Malty says hello too!”
Eddie taps Maltys wet brown nose, Billy rubs his belly, and Steve tries to catch his wagging tail. It's cute, and reminds Joyce of how young they still are, despite having moved out. Everyday she’s grateful to witness moments like these, after all the hurting her kids had been through.
It reminds her too, that there’s recently been an important milestone in her kids lives she needs to check up on, “So? How is everything at the new place? Tell me everything!”
Something clearly isn’t right when they exchange a look, except for Chrissy of course since she lost the majority of her sight in the accident.
Joyce settles in even more comfortably, “Oh no. I know that look. Don’t hold anything back.”
After a collective deep sigh, Eddie starts, “Stevie got stuck in the elevator on the first day.”
They all grimace, including Joyce. Steve hasn’t done well with enclosed spaces after being trapped underneath the mall. Especially elevators. Joyce can just imagine the panic he’d gone through, and the effects it would have had on his health. Panic attacks make his blood sugar drop, and trying to fix low blood sugar too fast can trigger his narcolepsy. It’s terrible.
Which seemingly reminds Steve himself of another bad fact, as he informs Joyce, “The neighbors have been throwing parties all night.”
This earns a collective nod. At least it’s not life threatening, but it’s still a terrible nuisance. One that Joyce remembers hating when she got her first apartment close to the community college. The affordability was not worth that headache.
It’s sad that this isn’t the end of their list of grievances. One such being a complaint that makes Billy noticeably and visibly angry, as he breaks his silence for today, “There was a fire drill at 3am and no accommodations for Chrissy's wheelchair.”
Now that’s enough to earn a gasp as a reaction. Joyce has had disabled children since Jonathan was born, but somehow it never ceases to shock her just how many barriers of human invention will spring up in the way of her disabled family.
Chrissy decides to change the subject to another issue before Billy gets too steamed about that last one, “And we found a rat's nest under the bed.”
That one is personal. Joyce hates rodents. It’s some sort of phobia she has, where even the thought of one can give her the chills. When Will was seven, he’d brought home an injured opossum from one of his bike rides, and she’d driven the creature straight to Claudia Henderson and her boys to take care of instead of letting it in her house.
Her excuse to little Will and his too big heart was that the Hendersons had more veterinary experience, which was true, but it was still easier than explaining irrational fears to her naive little one.
All of that leaves her unsure what to say, so she is bluntly honest; that’s probably what the kids had wanted coming to her. Joyce sounds sympathetic though, never harsh, “That doesn’t sound like a home at all. You four don’t have to put up with that.”
Steve looks sad as he informs her, probably having already felt the same way, “According to our contract we do.”
But Joyce is not taking no for an answer. Her kids are not going to suffer like that, under any circumstances.
“No, no- I’m married to the ex police chief. I can pull a few strings.”
Sweet Chrissy rushes to assure her, “You don’t have to do that.”
“Oh, I’m going to. My kids are not going to be put in danger because of some shitty landlord.” It was never a question. Joyce takes action right away, planning, and getting them involved, “Billy, Eddie, do you two know if there are any empty trailers near Mr. Wayne?”
Billy looks at Eddie, and Eddie at Billy. This conversation is overwhelming, and she understands when Billy has gone silent again. She even saw him discreetly turn his hearing aids off. He gives little taps and traces lines on Eddie’s hand, while Eddie whispers to him and makes sure they’re on the same page.
Then, as their representative, Eddie brings the conversation back to Joyce to tell her- “Actually the old Mayfield trailer is empty again. An old couple bought it after Max moved in with you guys, but they’re both in care homes now.”
“Good. I have a few phone calls to make. You can stay here until I’ve fixed this. But you four are not going back to that apartment.” Joyce declares, in her ‘and that’s final’ tone only a mother can do with such perfection.
Then she gets up, gives each of them one more hug, and goes into the kitchen to have a little talk on the phone with their landlord.
And on her way out of the room, Joyce may pretend to not see the looks of relief exchanged between Billy and Steve, with an additional smirk on her sons face, or the comforting hand Eddie puts on Chrissy's shoulder, all signs that this was planned, and they knew she’d help them out of a tough situation.
She’s just glad her boy and his partners trust her so deeply. There’s no need to bring it up. Not when she gets to see the joy and relief on their faces when they’re moving into their very own trailer a week later, the delay only because Wayne and Jim had worked together making the trailer more accessible.
From redoing the stairs and building a wheelchair ramp, to lowering a couple of counters in the kitchen and taking out the island, the space was much easier now for Chrissy to navigate, at least, it would be once she got used to the layout and felt comfortable pushing herself again.
So yeah, it was worth it. Joyce hugs her kids one more time, and maybe sends a secret middle finger to the sky, and everyone who told her adopting her Billy would be too much trouble.

Let’s talk about Disability Foundation.
Focusing on individuals with physical disabilities, this Canadian foundation partners with six other charitable societies, as well as listening to disabled folks themselves, to provide opportunities for accessibility. Their founder was himself a disabled man who realized that he could help other people like him who wanted more from life.
What this means is that they organize activities that are usually not adapted for us. Their goal in doing this is to keep disabled folks feeling involved, active, and free. It can be frustrating being stuck inside a lot of the time, I know from experience, and this foundation tries to help those with physical disabilities have more options of things we can do.
Inspiration and empowerment are just two of the benefits of realizing that something previously deemed impossible for you is now possible. The foundation acknowledges the barriers that exist even in already accessible places, and works to help disabled folks overcome that as well.
They accept monetary donations, which can be applied to all programs, or just those that need it most, and also volunteer work.

Tumblr media
You were too tired to keep your eyes open, your body kept on swaying until you finally gave up making your head land on Bucky’s shoulder. His conversation with Sam getting interrupted when he felt your arms hug his metal arm.
Sharon had a smirk on her face and decided to start getting prepared for a meeting she had. “I have stuff to do so why don’t you guys enjoy the party? And don’t cause any trouble.” She said before leaving the room.
Sam stood up and began walking towards the door with Zemo following him. “You coming?” He asked his new partner.
“Uh, yeah, just let me lay her down.” Bucky answered and took your head carefully, guiding your body to lay properly on the couch, you were still holding onto his arm so he took one of the matching cushions of the couch and gave it to you so your arms could let go of his.
He took his jacket off and decided to cover you with it, making sure your back and arms were under it. He softly smiled and placed a piece of hair behind your ear so it wouldn’t tickle your face.
After that he turned around and saw both Sam and Zemo looking at him a subtle smirk. “What?”
“I’ve never seen you being so gentle.” He mocked gaining a groan from Bucky. “What’s up with that? Since the whole mission started you have been acting weird, is it because of Stark?”
“Depends on which one you’re talking about.” Bucky took one last glance at your sleeping figure.
“Her.”
Sighing, Bucky massaged his temple. “I need a drink first.”
*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。*・゚。
Back on Zemo’s private jet you decided to give everyone the cold shoulder, angry at them for leaving you without saying anything or at least leaving a note. You could’ve helped them with the hundreds of mercenaries that attacked them. Zemo placed a plate with food on it in front of you and gave you a small smile, trying to make you feel at ease.
Walking down the street with Zemo like nothings wrong made you feel on edge. Thinking that maybe the new copy of Steve would appear and make things harder but you kept on wishing that it wouldn’t be the case. Zemo lead the group to a unknown building.
“I’m gonna go on a walk.” Bucky said out of nowhere.
“Take Y/N with you, don’t what could happen.” Sam said and took your shoulder.
You rolled your eyes. “Sam, he can take care of himself.” Taking his hand off your shoulder you began walking to the buildings door, leaving everyone behind.
“See you guys in a bit.”
He came back after a few minutes and started talking about how the wakandians are looking for Zemo.
All of this mess made you wonder why were you there in the first place. Sure, you had nothing to do since your father died and also coming back after 5 years, didn’t help at all. But maybe you were there because Sam called, he was the only one who tried to search for you when you decided to disappear.
“Your TT would be proud of you.” Zemo’s voice brought you back into reality after watching their whole conversation and play it on your mind.
“What’s a TT?” You asked with furrowed eyebrows.
“Whatever, we need to get moving.” Sam spoke dismissing the question you made.
You weren’t sure if the plan would work, searching for Donya was harder that you could think of and it definitively made you wonder what could go wrong if anyone from the group made a mistake. And losing your powers didn’t help the situation at all. But that’s a secret. Nobody knows you lost them and the most important thing, nobody knows you’re slowly dying. So maybe that’s one of the reasons you decided to help Sam, doing a last mission until your body gives up. You just hoped you get to finish the mission and not die in the middle of it.
But now, you had to worry about another thing. And that is John Walker, getting himself in things he doesn’t understand nor is involved in. Waiting for Sam next to him wasn’t the best moment in your life, the only thing you could do was stare at him with dislike written on your face.
Feelings like your skins burned you decided to start rubbing the sides of your neck and Bucky didn’t let that pass through blind eyes.
“Are you okay?” Bucky asks with a bit of concern filling his voice.
“Uh, yeah.” You cleared your throat. “I’m probably getting sick, don’t worry.”
Before Bucky could say anything else, Walker decided to put the mission on risk and walk inside the building Sam and Karli were having a conversation. You extended your hand to hold John by the shoulder.
“Why don’t you go and take a seat? You’re going to ruin the plan if you walk inside.” You spoke, trying to hold in the pain and burning under your skin.
John pushed you and entered the building.
And just like that, the whole situation became a mess. Ruining and shouting, the only thing you had become used to in these days.
The Dora Milaje were now your only solution. And they definitely know how to make a good entrance.
“Why don’t you relax pal?” You said to John before he gets himself hurt by the Dora Milaje, but it was too late, he placed his hand on Ayo’s shoulder. Big mistake.
You decided to sit back and watch them fight, you and Zemo exchanged looks, you gave him a nod, letting him go to the bathroom and possibly run away.
“I told you to relax, it’s what you deserve for being an ass.” You spoke with mock towards John.
Before the Dora Milaje could leave, Ayo turned her head to you and extended her hand, which was holding a stick, just like the ones the Dora Milaje use but it looked different.
“Here, Shuri told me to give it to you.” You took it and placed on your back.
Now it was only Sam, Bucky and you.
You were too tired to keep going, there’s was no point in being there without powers, you could barely fight and it made you angry. But what made you feel even worse is that you didn’t know what was causing it and seeing your body fill in with different colored lines brought back some bad memories.
Tony was well-know for not sharing his feelings or thoughts. And that made it harder for you to help him. Being at a young age didn’t matter, you did understand what was happening to him, slowly dying by the toxins coming from his reactor.
Seeing the lines in his neck will always haunt you for the rest of your life. The worst part of it is that you couldn’t tell anyone about it, he made you promise not to tell Pepper or Happy and that also caused you some trauma. He made you believe you couldn’t vent out your problems to your family or friends. You didn’t have anyone. Not even Pepper. You decided not to bother her or Morgan with the “My adoptive dad died and I have no one else” act. So it was really hard to say anything to Bucky or Sam, you didn’t want them to know that your body is not the same since you fought against Thanos.
“Go to Sarah’s, I’ll tell her to receive you back at home, okay?” Sam took both of your shoulders. “You don’t look so well, let Buck and I finish this and then call me when you feel better.”
You nodded and decided to leave immediately. Before you could go, Bucky took your arm, grabbing your attention.
“Be careful, if something happens call me immediately.” He said in a serious tone. You pushed his hand off you and muttered a small yes.
Bucky’s eyes didn’t leave your figure until it disappeared behind doors. Sighing he took a seat on the coach.
“I think it’s time for you to tell me what’s happening between you and Y/N.” Sam demanded while crossing his arms.
Nodding, Bucky tapped the seat next to him, indicating Sam to sit there so he could start speaking.
“I’ve known her even before the mess at the airport started.” Bucky started to slowly speak. “Or at least her face.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Y/N, she looks like someone I used to know back in the 40s, her name was Sophia.” He explained with clear pain showing in his eyes. “Sophia and I met while I was preparing to become a soldier, she was a nurse back then.”
“What happened to her?” Sam asked with wonder running in his mind. He wanted to ask more questions about this person.
“Died of old age. I fell in love with her, but never saw Sophie again, after Steve rescued me I tried searching for her but nobody knew what happened to her and just decided not to tell anyone about it.”
“Not even Steve?”
Bucky shook his head and sighed. “When I saw Y/N back at the airport I thought my mind was playing games with me and that’s why I never touched her when Y/N and Tony decided to go against Steve and I.”
Sam patted his friends back, trying to bring him some kind of comfort but it didn’t help.
“And I’m just frustrated because I don’t know why she looks like Sophie, I asked the wakandians if they could find any information about Sophie and they found about her family, she had two kids and one of them had a girl.” Bucky bit his lips, trying to see if he could continue the story.
“You don’t have to tell me everything Buck, if it’s hard for you then you ca—“
Bucky’s voice interrupted him. “It’s fine. You see, everyone knows Tony adopted her, so it felt like there only was one answer. She had to be the daughter of Sophie’s children but then it was another death end. I recently found out that she’s not from Sophie’s family. It’s just fate I guess.”
“Maybe the destiny is giving you another chance to be with her.” Sam tried to give a good answer to him after what he said.
“I don’t think so but if it is that way, then I don’t deserve it”

No Longer Feels Like Home

Chapter 1: Manaʻo (Feeling)
Something was wrong with Buck.
Steve could sense it, because there was always some horrible sensation at the back of his head, screaming something he couldn't quite understand.
And it wasn't about his leg, nor the tsunami.
It was something else.
He had seen the news of the bomber in LA, and Danny had been his support while both saw Buck pinned to the road by that enormous fire truck in the news. Steve then had to explain what the kid meant to him, and some days later, he texted and called Buck to make sure he could count on him in whatever situation.
"Just text me and I will be taking the next plane to LA." Steve had said during a call.
Buck chuckled and thanked the former SEAL.
Five months later it was the pulmonary embolism.
Buck had texted Steve sometime before going over Athena's to have some 'celebration dinner' with Bobby, May, Harry, and her before his first shift after the accident.
Sometime later he received a message telling 'it was a party! :)' and a picture of him, Christopher, and Eddie.
He sent the picture to Danny, who had demanded that Steve told him about every news from Buck, although the detective and the firefighter didn't know each other.
'Are you kidding me? The kid looks like the Diazes had hung the moon for him.' Danny texted back.
Steve chuckled fondly, his mind free of worries until he unexpectedly woke up at 1 am, with a call from Buck's number.
"What the hell? It's 3 am in LA." He thought. But when he answered he noticed it wasn't Buck who called. It was a woman.
"Hi, um, am I talking to... Steve McGarrett?" She asked.
"Yes, ma'am. Is Buck okay?" Steve had woken up completely.
"Yes... No..." The woman doubted, she didn't know if she could trust this person, although her brother told her it was fine.
"What happened? Who are you? I want to talk to him now." Steve demanded as he stood up and started pacing around his room.
"He had a pulmonary embolism. I'm his older sister, Maddie. He wanted to talk to you, but the nurses took him for a CT scan, so I told him I would do it." Maddie answered, alarmed. Steve could sense the worry in her voice. So he told her comforting words until the nurses brought an asleep Buck back to his hospital room. She thanked his company and promised updates from his brother before cutting the call.
Then, like a week or two later, it was the tsunami.
Everyone was at the Five-0 headquarters, bored between the Hawaiian constant heat and the paperwork when Danny appeared through the office's cristal doors with fast steps and a tablet in his hands.
They all peeked from their offices at the detective when he exclaimed, "Hey! Something happened in LA!"
Steve knew it was directed to him, and his mind immediately rushed to think of every bad thing that could have happened. He calmed himself down before stepping out of his office.
When Danny reached the computer, he slid his hand through the tablet, to move the image into one of the screens. The group had reunited around the computer table to watch it.
The headline was worse than what they could have imagined.
"Tsunami hits Santa Monica Pier in LA"
Danny locked eyes with Steve for some seconds. He knew that Buck had texted the Commander, telling him that he and Christopher were going to the beach after Eddie dropped him off at his apartment to cheer him up.
Everyone's breath hitched when they watched the phone recorded video on the screen.
"Oh my god," Tani muttered as she saw the first wave hitting the pier on the news.
"This video was recorded by a brave teenager who is residing at Ocean Plaza Apartment, near the Santa Monica Pier.." The news reporter spoke but everything was just white noise to them.
A giant wave appeared in the background. The people who were at the border of the pier started running to the mainland and giving advice to others in their way.
The wave finally hit the pier and in a matter of seconds, all the people disappeared into the salty water.
All of the officers' stomachs dropped to the floor, their mouths dry with no words.
It looked unreal, like a movie.
Steve immediately looked for Buck's number on his phone and frenetically tried to call him. Meanwhile, Danny started calling Mary, Steve's sister who lived in LA, and Adam tried to contact Kono, his ex-wife.
Junior, Quinn, Lou, and Tani just stood there worried, watching as the men tried to contact their loved ones.
Danny and Adam finished their calls, and a tense ambient settled among them as Steve was still trying to contact Buck.
After trying one last time, he hit the table with his fist before he placed both of his hands on the computer table and looked at the floor.
The Five-0 members shared a look before Danny asked, "Steve?"
"I can't contact him." He sighed.
The men and women in the place shared another look; everyone thought he was trying to contact Mary.
Only Danny understood who he was referring to.
"What can I do to help?" He asked, hating to see Steve in that state.
"Find a way to contact Maddie or Athena?" Steve replied unsurely.
"Okay, then," Danny replied and started typing on the table's screen.
He looked for Maddie Buckley in the interstate files and found out she worked at the 9-1-1 Emergency Call Center in LA, next to some other information like her contact number.
Danny passed her phone number to Steve, who entered his office to call her.
"Danny?" Tani was the first to say a word. "Can you tell us what's going on? Who is this guy?"
"Well..." Danny started.
Then he proceeded to tell them all he knew about Buck, which was that Steve met him years ago after the kid enrolled for the Navy SEALs and convinced him of dropping off because Buck hated to 'turn that emotional switch off', and how both stayed in contact throughout the years.
Everyone understood the situation. They even tried to joke at how easily Steve 'adopted' people, just to lighten the heavy, tense climate in the room.
Eventually, Steve got Buck's number from Maddie and found out about how he had survived the natural disaster, and his almost endless search for Christopher.
It was almost a month since the last event, and Steve had barely spoken with the fireman. He had a good excuse though. It seemed like May was the unspoken month for all kinds of murderers, robbers, kidnappers, terrorists, and even the Yakuza to come out of their caves and try to finish them.
It was one case after the other, sometimes they even accumulated, so Steve had to separate the group in halves, this way they could cover two cases at a time.
That was when the feeling started.
At first, he thought it was just stress from all the cases, but after May ended and the pile of unsolved cases started reaching an end, the feeling was still there. He tried to take some days off without connecting with the world, but it just got worse.
Finally, he spoke to Danny about this, and both reviewed Steve's life for the last months, to see if something was missing. Suddenly, Danny had an idea.
"Have you talked to Buck lately?"
And the pieces almost clicked in his mind.
"No. I think... You just discovered it Danno!" Steve said as he patted his grinning partner on the back.
Then he looked for Buck's contact and called. And... He didn't answer.
Steve decided to shrug it off and convince himself that Buck was in a long shift. So instead he texted him.
"Hey, Buck! I'm sorry I haven't talked to you, May was a crazy month
"I think something is wrong, Danny," Steve said to the detective after the man asked him about his recent anxious attitude.
"With what?"
"Buck," Steve replied, shifting on the couch.
"You still have the feeling, don't you?" Danny inquired, looking at Steve by his side.
The man sighed, rubbing his face with one hand.
"Yeah, I do. But I don't know what to do with it. It's driving me crazy, Danno."
Danny moved from the comfortable space he had on Steve's side to get the remote. He stopped the movie and shifted his body so he could face his best friend.
"Thanks, my arm was already falling asleep," Steve joked.
Danny rolled his eyes and his partner chuckled.
"Okay, serious talk now. I think I know why you have the feeling."
"Illuminate me, Doctor."
"Sometimes when Grace or Charlie is in danger, or not feeling well, I get that feeling too."
Steve leaned his head as his brows frowned, expecting an explanation.
"Like I know something is wrong and I need to talk to them, to know that they are safe and sound. And I know that you feel it with my children too."
Danny paused a moment to let his words make sense before speaking again, "It's like a fatherly feeling. You, my friend, care about Buck as you do about my children."
It made some sense in Steve's mind, but he still questioned it.
"So you are telling me that I care for Evan Buckley like he was my son?"
"Exactly. And let me guide you in this new parenting thing." Danny added. "Most of the time you are right and something happened. The last time I had his feeling, Charlie was being bullied in school by that Zach or whatever his name was."
Some seconds passed while Steve processed the information.
He had made a promise to Buck, and he always kept them.
"When is the next flight to Los Angeles?"

4. Fambily
In this episode, we skim the surface of the fambily dynamics in Supernatural, which are--ah. Dicey at best.

Content warnings: domestic violence and family abuse
[Growl]
Ah, the Winchesters. Where do we even start. Unhinged, deranged, and continually traumatised in every way, Sam and Dean complete each other. At least, that’s what the show wants us to think. Despite the ways they betray each other, lie to each other, and  piss each other off, they are fambily. And fambily is the most important thing. The concept of Fambily in the show Supernatural (2005-2020) takes many twists and turns throughout its run. In the first five minutes of episode one, the heteronormative, nuclear family of John, Mary, Sam and Dean is ripped apart by an unknown, antagonistic force that represents all the evil in the world. It creeps into a nursery and eviscerates a white, blonde mother while preying upon a 👶, I mean, how much more evil can you get? It’s fantastic that, in the later seasons especially, Supernatural embraces this idea that fambily doesn’t end in blood, but blood doesn’t always mean fambily. By the end of the series, the fambily concept has expanded to include two dads, an aunt and uncle, and a thirty-year old infant. I’m going to talk about the finale in its own episode, so that my ire will have its proper outlet.
When the show starts, Sam, Dean and John have each other, and only each other. By the time season 2 really kicks off, Sam and Dean don’t have John anymore, but they do have Bobby Singer. The concept of the triumvirate follows them throughout the series as though they’re in a less sexy Italo Calvino novel—first Sam, Dean and John, then Sam, Dean and Bobby, then Sam, Dean and Ruby, then Sam, Dean and Cas, then Sam, Dean and Mary, then Sam, Dean and Jack. It’s broken in seasons 13-15 when Cas comes back and they have a family of four, and then five when Mary can stand to see her boys.
But the Winchesters are not the only fambily in Supernatural who matter. In season two, we’re introduced to the Harvelles, mother Ellen and daughter Jo, who are a hunting fambily who run a hunter pub in the middle of whoop whoop. A pub that Eric Kripke famously hated, and rejoiced when he burnt it down at the end of season 2, because the Winchesters and by extension everyone they know aren’t allowed to have anything good ever. It’s revealed in season two episode “No Exit” that John got Jo’s father killed on a hunt, which obviously affects Jo more than it does Sam and Dean.
[Editing note:] Okay I’m editing this episode, and I’m not happy with it. I’m not going to scrap it completely because I think I do have good points to say, but the general analysis of this episode is so surface level. It is basically contributing nothing to the conversation. And I started this podcast in order to actually contribute something to the culture. I could make a bunch of text posts on tumblr or I could spend hours and hours and hours and hours of my life to something that — I don’t know. Is it bringing me joy? Not at the moment. But, yeah. So I’m not going to scrap this episode completely but this is my way of saying from now on the episodes are going to take as much as they will take and I will commit myself to having deeper and more thoughtful analysis. And if I have to spend an entire episode on one aspect of one thing, I will. I could be at university right now studying a masters or a PhD in fucking literary analysis but instead I’m sitting on my bed making a Supernatural podcast because it brings me joy. It does. It really makes me happy and I don’t want to abandon this project, because people are listening to it. I don’t know why, I don’t know what you like it about it, but you’re listening. And I just think I owe it to myself to make things that I support 100%. So I’ll continue this episode and hopefully this rambling hasn’t put you off it completely. But from now on, I’m going to really, really talk about things that matter in regards to Supernatural… Kind of an oxymoron. Kind of a contradiction. But things that contribute to the cultural consciousness instead of just rehashing the road so far. That’s all I want to do. I want to contribute. I want to say good…ful things. Okay this is making me happy. It’s already working, it’s already making me happy. I’m just going to keep rambling and laughing. Okay so, more thoughtful analysis, deeper analysis. Things that make you think. Things that make me think. Instead of just a bunch of words that mean nothing. Okay, continuing on.
Okay to figure out which episode this was I had to watch a little bit of season two, and I’m still on my season 13 rewatch. The difference between the two seasons. I don’t know if I can even put into words the growth this show has gone through, and the characters have gone through, over the last 15 years. It would be like summarising my own growth by combing through my extensive diary collection and the years of societally- and governmentally-enforced heterosexuality that has plagued my entire life. Those boys are babies in season two. The bootcut jeans alone. Sam is literally 23 years old. I don’t even talk to 23 year olds. I block them on social media.
The Harvelles are a blip in the Winchester map. While the actors Samantha Ferris and Chad Lindberg did attempt to resuscitate their cultural currency months after the show ended by participating in an event — okay I can’t. I can’t even go into it. Like, clearly Samantha Ferris heard back from her representation as soon as she started posting those tweets and realised she wouldn’t continue to get money if she endorsed, well, the gays. And Chad Lindberg was just using the clout to push his Etsy wares like a 14th century merchant, so I gotta respect the hustle. But Jo and Ellen die in season 5 episode “Abandon All Hope” and are barely mentioned again except the episode Ash appears in, season 5 “Dark side of the moon,” Jo in season 7, “Defending Your Life,” and Ellen in the season 6 episode “My heart will go on.” They didn’t exactly leave what you would call a lasting impact for the next, you know, ten seasons.
To be honest, I’m not sure when it’s revealed that Bobby’s wife died after being possessed by a demon. It’s made clear in season 5 “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid,” and I did not have to look that up, because season four and five are burned into my retinas like a particularly nasty sun flare. Bobby outlines the horrific way he killed his wife, because why not throw some spousal violence into the mix, and later in season 7 “Death’s Door,” it elaborates on their life together. I saw this sentiment expressed on TikTok, which we all know as the foundation of cultural knowledge, which was that fambilies don’t need to be two parents and children. Fambilies can be spouses or partners. You don’t need to have children in order to be a fambily. I think that’s a very nice sentiment and I’ve chosen to adopt it for these purposes. Bobby and his wife Karen are a fambily. While Karen wants kids, Bobby chooses not to have them for fear of becoming like his father and repeating the trauma he inflicted on Bobby. Bobby and Karen’s fambily dynamic is ruptured in the same way that John and Mary’s is—by an intrusive, demonic force that brings Bobby into the hunting world and ends Karen’s life. But by the time we see him at the end of season 1, Bobby is already ingratiated into Sam and Dean’s lives as their surrogate father, and this bond only deepens as the show progresses. Bobby expresses the sentiment to Dean to not be like John, that Dean is already a better man that his father ever was. Isn’t that what we all want to hear? That we have superseded our parents and outgrown them in ways they could never comprehend? Don’t we just want to be better than the generations that came before us, in order to mould a better world for the generations that come after us? Don’t we want to make things easier for our children, and our friends’ children, and our siblings’ children? Dean is a better man than John, and Bobby is better man than his father ever was. It’s about breaking the cycles of intergenerational trauma. I have to believe that Sam, Dean and Bobby did this, because then it’s possible for me to do the same thing. Include here that speech about representation in media that I didn’t bother writing for the last episode. Bobby is the surrogate father to Sam and Dean, a better father than John was, a better hunter even. He crafts an entire network of hunters who report to him, as seen in the season 6 episode “Weekend at Bobby’s,” and he continues to act as Sam and Dean’s mentor until his death in season 7 “How to win friends and influence monsters”. An alternate universe version of Bobby is introduced in season 13, which I have my reservations about, and he and Mary get together, which again, why. Season 13 is so hard to sit through.
A fambily that is introduced late into the series and is simply NOT given enough screen time is the Banes fambily. In season 12, “Celebrating the life of Asa Fox,” we are introduced to the Banes twins, Max and Alicia, who are by far the most gorgeous hunters we’ve seen in the series. They are hunters raised by a witch, Tasha Banes, who doesn’t appear yet, and they manage to survive the trial by fire that is overcoming the demon Jael. Later in this season, in the episode “Twigs and Twane and Tasha Banes,” both of which are written by the late great Steve Yockey, we are introduced to Tasha in a way that seems awfully familiar: Alicia calls Sam to say their mother has gone missing on a hunt, and hasn’t checked in in a few days. By the end of the episode, Alicia and Tasha are dead, and Max has ostensibly sold his soul for the power to bring Alicia back. The Banes twins’ storyline directly parallels Sam and Dean’s from the pilot, but it’s a tragedy from the outset. We already know Tasha is dead and they can’t save her, however, like Dean does for Sam at the end of season 2, Max chooses to save Alicia at the expense of his own soul. Spin off when. Banes twins series when. I’m waiting. They were in two episodes and I’m still thinking about them. The Harvelles are dust.
In season 7, “Reading is Fundamental,” a waifish 17 year old honour’s student Kevin Tran breaks into a rehabilitation facility to steal a tablet. This starts a chain of events that ingratiates Kevin Tran in the apocalyptic, death-succumbing world of the Winchesters, starting with Dick Roman, head leviathan, and continuing, but not culminating, with his death at the hands of Gadreel, who was possessing Sam, it’s a whole thing. Any time you attempt to summarise anything on Supernatural, you sound like a lunatic. And I say that as someone who has a supernatural podcast, with an audience of only supernatural fans. We are lunatics, but we’re lunatics together. Kevin’s arc was cut way too short, but we at least got to see him with his momma Linda in the beginnings of season 8 with the unfortunately named episode “What’s up, Tiger Mommy?” It introduces Linda Tran as a capable and worldly woman, hell bent on protecting her son. She offers up her soul among other things in exchange for Kevin and the tablet with him. During the episode, she is possessed by Crowley, and Dean attempts to kill him, which would mean killing Linda as well. Kevin considers this the ultimate betrayal and leaves with his mum. Later in season 9 episode “Captives,” Linda is reintroduced as a captive of Crowley, who escapes with Sam’s help. Back at the bunker, she reunites with Kevin, who is now, thanks to the Winchesters’ incompetence, a ghost 👻. My macbook keeps suggesting little emojis in the smart bar so I just gotta put ‘em in. That’s the last we see of Linda, so I’m drawing my own conclusions about whether she gets to live a long and happy life. Kevin is a fan favourite and despite my reservations about Osric Chau which I will not get into like ever I really like Kevin too. He outsmarts Crowley many times and shows remarkable tenacity to get an impossible job done. His desire to see his mum again, the driving force behind his actions, mirrors Dean’s desperation to have his fambily together again like they used to be. I would call this a parallel but I don’t believe they purposefully did this, I just think they accidentally rehashed the same tired storyline they’ve been peddling since 2005. But yeah, if I was Kevin and all I had was my mum, seeing her again would be the driving force for my actions as well. Kevin’s father is never mentioned, and it honestly isn’t a big deal, which is great. Sometimes fathers are just absent, and you don’t need throw a hissy fit about it or make it your entire personality, Dean.
Missouri Moseley, played by the inimitable Loretta Devine, is introduced in the first season, episode “Home,” in which she helps out on a case involving Sam and Dean’s childhood house. We find out that Missouri is a long-time friend of John’s and helped him to understand that supernatural forces were behind Mary’s death. She is Sam and Dean’s first point of entry into the world of the Supernatural, and they didn’t know it until they meet her in “Home”. In season 13 episode “Patience,” another layer to Missouri’s character is added with the advent of her family: estranged son James and granddaughter Patience Turner, who is also a psychic. We get a lot of backstory for Missouri in this episode, even if it is sloppily written and contradictory to the way they initially set her up. If Missouri and James had been travelling when he was a child, why was she stationed in Lawrence in both 1983 and 2005? What did he mean that Missouri was hunting? I can’t be bothered unpacking the confusing bits of information presented in this episode. It’s not a good episode and I really don’t see why everyone goes apeshit for Bobo Berens. He kills Missouri in this episode, in a really horrible way. Like the history of Supernatural’s racism and misogyny should not be dumped on one man, but nor should it be perpetuated and it is continually throughout the entire show. Confusing, contradictory and badly written backstory aside, she is an interesting character, and her willingness to sacrifice herself to save her family echoes that of Mary in “Home”. I’m actually really mad that Patience never gets to have a relationship with Missouri, and later in season 13 episode “The Bad Place,” Patience’s father tells her that if she leaves to help The Winchesters and uses her psychic abilities, she’s not welcome back in his house. To me that’s just unnecessary. We have a family that has already been ruptured by the death of Patience’s mother, further ruptured by Patience’s father cutting off contact with Missouri, and then to go a step further he disintegrates their family unit by kicking Patience out. Like how much loss do the Moseley-Turners have to endure? It’s really just cruel at this point. But Patience does find family with Jodie, Donna, Claire, Alex and eventually Kaia, and while I love the concept of found family and this found family in particular, it comes at the expense of biological family, which is something that the show has pushed from the very first episode. So that’s evolution in itself. Going from “fambily is the most important thing to these characters” to “found fambily is where we find love” is great, but ripping apart a biological fambily like the Moseley-Turners, and indeed starting the episode by saying Missouri has been shunted out of her son and granddaughter’s lives for trying to bring her son comfort, is just fucked. Like, I couldn’t name a single Bobo episode that I actually like without having to comb through them. I’m trying really hard not to shit all over him because as a writer I know how much that sucks and I know how hard is it for any marginalised writers to get a start, but I’m allowed to have my vendettas.
If you’ve watched the “Runs In The Family” angels MV from 2010, and only if you’ve watched the “Runs In The Family” angels MV from 2010, you will understand just how jacked up the angel family really is. The angelic counterpoint to Sam and Dean are the archangels Lucifer and Michael. We are introduced to two different versions of Michael—one in season 5, who possesses their dad in 1979 and their brother Adam in 2010—my god that was literally over a decade ago—and Apocalypse World Michael, played by four different actors: Felisha Terrell, Christian Keyes, Jensen Ackles, and Ruth Connell, who plays Rowena. I don’t know what in the hell Jensen Ackles was doing performance-wise when playing Michael, but I consider it a federal crime akin to drug trafficking or money laundering. As for Christian Keyes playing Michael, Andrew Dabb, you know what you did and you’re going to have to live with that.
In season 5, during the apocalypse, Michael and Lucifer only interact in the last episode, “Swan Song,” but the entire season is built around their conflict. Lucifer disobeyed their father, and Michael as God’s most powerful weapon must defeat him. It’s meant to mirror Sam’s descent into, uhhhh, badness or something, disobeying John to run away to Stanford, or, like, drinking demon blood? It’s unclear. Lucifer and Apocalypse World Michael interact in season 13, and Michael kills Lucifer only to take over Dean’s body and start a season-long arc of, like, bad acting and barely thought-out plots. I would say to Jensen Ackles “don’t quit your day job,” but this is literally his day job.
The angels as they’re introduced in season 4 are warriors of god, and all they know is obedience and killing. Even Cas can’t break out of the cycle of killing his angel siblings, and often justifies it by saying that it’s for the greater good, that he needs to do it to take down a stronger force like Raphael or Metatron. Anna manages to break free of her family by falling and becoming human, but when Cas betrays her and the angels capture her, she is lobotomised, tortured and sent back out to kill Sam. Then she’s burned to a crisp by Michael possessing John, not the last time a woman would burn to death on this show. The angels are dysfunctional at best, and actively hostile to each other, especially Castiel, the infamous spanner in the works. I could write an entire academic paper about how the angels think of Castiel as this rebel slut who murdered his way to the top and is going to be the downfall of angel kind, but Dean thinks of him as this little nerdy guy with a harp he carries around in his back pocket. Which honestly Cas would love because he’s obsessed with Dean and wants to touch his butt. I don’t know what else I can say about the angels without turning this into a dissertation, so I’ll continue on.
While all seasons of the show are about family, season six is especially about matrilineal family. It introduces the concept of the mother of monsters—Eve—and focuses on Mary as a solution to the loneliness the characters feel after her death. Samuel Campbell, Mary’s father, is brought back to life and manipulated by the promise of seeing his daughter again. He asks Sam and Dean what they wouldn’t do to see Mary again, which is kind of the general thesis of the show. What wouldn’t John, Dean and Sam do for each other? Dean sells his soul. John makes a deal with the demon who killed Mary. Sam teams up with Ruby to kill Lilith in revenge, which begins as a suicide mission because he doesn’t know how to handle his grief for Dean. The difference is that Samuel betrays Sam and Dean, his own grandchildren, for the promise of seeing Mary again. This cardinal sin alienates him from being a good guy, because good guys never betray Sam and Dean. Sam and Dean are our protagonists! Our heroes! The bringers of the light! The knights in shining armour! The white on rice. The cherry in cherry pie. They are the ones we’re meant to align ourselves with, because it’s their story the narrative is telling. And anyone who doesn’t align themselves with the Winchesters is an enemy who needs to be defeated.
We’re introduced to the character of Gwen in the first episode of season 6, “Exile on Main Street”, and she says in the episode “Family Matters” that Samuel, the patriarch, doesn’t like her very much because she reminds him of Mary. While Samuel, Christian, Gwen and co are technically family, Dean has no connection to them past bloodlines. And as I said before, while family doesn’t end in blood, we learn throughout this season that blood doesn’t always mean family. Gwen dies in the episode “And Then There Were None,” because of course she does, and Mary doesn’t come back, at least not in this season.
In “Family Matters,” the alpha vampire, played by the irreplaceable Rick Worthy, mentions that “we all have our mothers,” referring to Eve, the mother of monsters, the one who spawned every other monster and who has been trapped in purgatory ever since. Eve is pulled from Purgatory to wage war against the hunters and Crowley because they have been preying on her first borns, the alphas. I love Eve. I love her. She’s my favourite villain after Metatron. Mainly because I think she is like… sexy as hell. Like wow I am just so attracted to Julia Maxwell and this, like, bored smokey affect thing she does where she barely moves her mouth when she speaks and her strong brow makes her seem so intimidating. I don’t know anything about her personally, but I feel like she would’ve bullied me in high school, and I’m into it. It’s really hard to judge just from this one role whether she’s a good actor because Eve has such limited range and few things to do, but I really wish she’d gotten more screen time. Yeah, she’s doing the bare minimum and I’m completely obsessed. But Eve isn’t just a monster, she’s literally THEE milf. The original milf. And I really think she should’ve stayed around, but since they kept Lisa alive they had to kill at least one high profile woman.
Continuing with the family storylines in season 6, Dean tries to establish a family with Lisa and Ben, and for the most part succeeds. He gets a job, plays the role of the doting boyfriend and stepfather, and protects them as best he can. I’m going to spare you the rant perched at the tip of my tongue about how this is at best a lavender marriage or staying together for the kid, and that Lisa only exists to be an ideal for Dean, not an actual partner he can grow with throughout the rest of the show. It’s his first attempt at a fambily outside of Sam, Bobby and John, and it fails miserably because Lisa isn’t a good match. The fact is, she will never be able to fit into the hunting world because of the way the writers wrote her—as mother and girlfriend archetype, and we’ve seen how well they do with those—in fact they actively paralleled it in “Exile on Main Street” where they had Dean hallucinate Azazel coming back and pinning Lisa to the ceiling. It couldn’t be more obvious that they don’t respect her. At least they didn’t fridge her for Dean’s man pain. It’s honestly horrible because Dean put so much effort into believing this was his one chance at happiness, and when it crumbles like a tim tam in hot tea he beats himself up for it and uses it as an excuse to never be happy.
He does seem to be happy for the most part with Lisa, but because Sera Gamble doesn’t know how to write interesting or complex female characters, when Sam reenters the picture it once again becomes about the original premise: two brothers on the road, fighting the forces of evil. There’s no room for any women in that sphere. Up until this point I think—correct me if I’m wrong—there has been one female hunter who survived, and she was in one episode. The hunter Tamara in season 3 “The Magnificent Seven,” whose husband died in maybe the most sadistic way anyone has died on this show. Don’t rewatch it, just google it. All women die, including Mary, their mother, who is brought back in season 12 and killed in season 14. AND FOR WHAT? For WHAT Andrew Dabb.
Often, the loss of a parent, child or significant other is used to excuse bad behaviour and terrible choices. The hunting life causes Mary’s whole family to die before she can escape it, and because she makes a deal with Azazel for John’s life, the same demon John makes a deal with, Azazel kills her anyway. John abused his kids and brought them into the hunting life, because he was obsessed with getting revenge for Mary’s death. Sam does the same thing when Jess dies in the first season, and it starts a 15-season long arc of pain and misery. He sets Lucifer free in the season four because he is obsessed with getting revenge for Dean’s death and obsessed with the power drinking demon blood gives him. Then again, Sam is actually right for saving people by exorcising demons, which is literally the first part of the family business motto,  instead of just gutting them with the demon knife, but because Dean doesn’t agree with it, it’s bad. Sam always wants to do the right thing, he just gets a little caught up in the details. But you know what? Bloodfreak rights.
When Cas dies in season 13, Dean is so overcome with grief, a grief that echoes John and Sam’s, that he mistreats Jack and threatens to kill him. In season 14, Nick, Lucifer’s vessel, boo snore hiss, kills everyone involved with the murder of his wife and child before he finds out that it’s actually Lucifer’s doing, and then he tries to raise Lucifer from the empty because he’s addicted to killing? Whatever, stop employing Mark Pellegrino. Stop writing men as obsessed with getting revenge
The biological fambilies in Supernatural suck shit. Honestly every time I watch an episode about fambily I’m even more glad I don’t talk to mine. Dean and Sam need to spend some time away from each other, while they’re both still alive. Their fambily dynamic gets better as the show progresses, and I was pleased to see in season 12 that they do away with the codependency, constantly sacrificing themselves for each other, isolating themselves, betraying everyone they know for each other—they started to act like, you know, normal people. And that’s good. Sure, the show would not be anywhere without John sacrificing himself for Dean, and Dean sacrificing himself for Sam, and honestly that’s what made those first few seasons amazing. But after a while it becomes lazy writing, not parallels. A parallel that Supernatural pulled off is Sam comforting Magda in season 12 episode “The Survivor” in the way he needed to be comforted in season 1 and 2 as a psychic child. A parallel is Dean preparing Cas’s body for cremation in season 13  in counterpoint to the way Cas remade Dean’s body in season 4. This show can absolutely do parallels, some of the most beautiful parallels ever put on screen, but the last season was such lazy writing that I cannot forgive it.
This has been an overall negative episode of Holy Hell, and that sucks. I don’t want to be so negative. I want to talk about the good things that Supernatural did, and share in joy with you all, so now I’m going to talk about the only positive I see with fambily in the entire show.
For Dean, everyone older than him is a parent to disappoint, and everyone younger than him is a little sibling to protect. Cas is the exception, as there’s no way to define Dean and Cas’s relationship without acknowledging the reciprocal romantic ways they care about each other. Dean says on multiple occasions that Cas is like a brother to him, and that he’s Sam and Dean’s best friend. He actually drops the line, “After Sam and Bobby, you are the closest thing I have to family,” on Cas in season 6, and he acts like it’s nothing, but you can see in the expression on Cas’s face that Dean just recontextualised the entirety of Cas’s being in one sentence. Cas falls for Dean, gives up his family for Dean, and decides to follow him in the first act of free will we see on screen. And Dean, who has never known love without pain, says to Cas, you are fambily to me, I actively choose you, you belong in my life. But to belong in Dean’s life is to follow his plan, and when Cas doesn’t, he is punished for his hubris. Dean loves him, and he never even admits it.
Charlie becomes like a little sister to Dean, as does Jo. Jack is unequivocally Cas’s son, but becomes something of Dean’s son as well and some would argue Sam’s son. Claire becomes Cas’s daughter, but imprints so much on Dean that many, myself included, have come to consider Dean her father as well. If you subscribe to the idea that Dean and Cas are old marrieds, Dean would be Claire and Jack’s stepfather, and they would be a nuclear fambily all on their own. In season 14 “Lebanon,” when John says to Dean that he thought Dean would have settled down with a fambily, Dean says, “I have a fambily.” Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
Cas chooses to be a part of Claire’s life in season 10 “The Things We Left Behind” because he feels guilty about what happened to her after he possessed Jimmy, but after getting to know Claire he cares for her. The crime that is Claire and Cas not interacting after season 10, my god. That’s his daughter, you ghouls. But Claire and Dean do get more moments together. Dean, Sam and some British guy save Claire from turning into a werewolf, and Claire and the rest of the Wayward Sisters save Sam and Dean from the Bad Place. The Wayward Sisters are a found fambily all on their own, and since I could devote an entire episode to Jody’s little brood, I have chosen not to talk about them much, because this episode is at least half an hour, 34 minutes, and it would take up too much of my time. Claire is one of my favourite characters and I’ll be talking about her in the next ep, so stay tuned for that.
Even before Jack is born, Cas becomes his protector. He goes from trying to convince Kelly to end her and Jack’s life, to being her pseudo-husband and the surrogate father to her child. To me personally, it’s the best thing this show has ever done. Cas, Kelly and Jack love each other in a way that is so wholly uncomplicated, that is so pure and so good. Once Cas becomes Jack’s protector, there’s never any question of whether they would hurt or betray each other. He is Cas’s son, his baby boy, and he loves Cas so much that he resurrects Cas from the empty. When they meet for the first time in season 13 “Tombstone” after Cas comes back, they fit into each other’s lives so easily. This is the part in writing this where I was absolutely sobbing my dick off. There are so many moments between them that show the kind of love that each of these characters deserved. Sam and Dean deserve to have that love from their father, and so does Cas. And together they build a family unit around caring for Jack that does indeed end the intergenerational trauma that plagues the Winchester fambily.
And that’s why season 16 is so important to me. I can make things better. Dean sorts his shit out, all of his shit: his alcoholism, depression, ADHD, borderline personality disorder, suicidal ideation, sexuality, gender, the fact that Cas is literally the love of his life and he gets to save him from the Empty the way Cas saved him from Hell. They plant flowers in the field where Dean spread Cas’s ashes in season 13, and they get married at Jody’s cabin with all their loved ones left alive. Claire walks Cas down the aisle and Jack is the flower girl, because he’s literally a three year old baby. Sam and Eileen raise a bunch of rugrats and the Wayward fambily continue the hunting legacy and have a Sunday afternoon roast every week. Dean and Cas raise Jack right, they cut up oranges for soccer practice and watch all his school plays. He and his cousins grow up knowing what it’s like not only to be loved, but to be looked after, to have all their needs met. They grow up normal, and the trauma that plagued their family is a thing of the past. It’s good, you know? It’s just fucking good.

One Year Ago
You felt your eyes growing heavy as you tried  to follow along to the late night rerun of a telenovela that was currently playing on one of the local channels. It was the only thing that was illuminating the small living room, everything else was bathed in darkness, much like your heart at the moment. You’d been sitting there for some time, ever since you’d gotten home from the embassy, in a vain attempt to keep your mind occupied. If you tried to focus all your energy into trying to keep up with the rapid Spanish, maybe no dark thoughts would impede the light buzz that was flowing through your veins .
The empty wine bottle on the coffee table was supposed to help aid in your plan to chase away all the negative thoughts there were creeping in at the idea of Javier still being gone. He was supposed to be back today, supposed to be back in the office along with Steve, but neither of them had returned. It had been nothing but radio silence from their end.
Instead, you’d spent the day performing all sorts of menial tasks around the office, waiting for either of your partners to bursting in through the door and announcing their triumphant return.
But it never came.
Instead you were only met with silence, the only sounds that met your ears were those of people passing by in the hallway and someone occasionally popping their head in to say hello. Your face lit up every time, thinking maybe you’d get a glimpse of Peña’s smirk or Murphy’s soft smile; instead it was just another coworker whose name you didn’t know, or care to know.
By midday, you’d gotten the entire shared office space clean and organized, going so far as to even clean the dingy windows, and caught up on paperwork that you’d been avoiding for weeks.
But even after all that, you still had time to spare.
When you couldn’t take the deafening silence any longer, you stormed out of the much too quiet office and stormed into Ambassador’s Noonan’s office, not even bothering to knock, only throwing the door open as you walked to the front of her desk. She barely lifted her eyes from the papers splayed across her desk as you stood in front her, your arms crossed definitely over your chest.
“Agent L/N,” it was almost mocking, cold, and you could see she really wasn’t too keen on listening to any problem that you were about to present her with. There were days when you hated her, wishing you could jump over the desk dividing you and wringing sense into her; other days you were glad that she was around, knowing that no matter how harsh and stern she was, she had your backs...more or less.
“Murphy and Peña aren’t back yet,” you didn’t bother to waste time with formalities, deciding to lay the facts on her instead, “they were supposed to be back in the office today. I haven’t seen hide nor hair of them.”
“I’m well aware that they were supposed to be back,” she flicked her eyes up to meet yours for a moment before turning back to her papers, “and just what is the issue?”
“They’re missing!”
“No one is considered missing for at least forty-eight hours,” she explained as you openly groaned. You knew that. But they weren’t just any sort of civilians, they were DEA agents, and more importantly, your partners, your friends, “and they technically still have several hours left in the work day to return before the clock starts ticking.”
“You don’t understand -”
“No, you don’t understand, L/N,” she barked and slammed the papers down on her desk, causing you to jump back in surprise, “this is how things work sometimes. This is a dangerous field, there are risks involved and sometimes you just have to accept that. You have to be all in to do this job, and I expect that even a rookie such as yourself understands that.”
“I-...”
“I get you want to do the right thing and you’re concerned with the welfare of your partners, but you have to learn to get over these types of things,” you were rendered speechless, taking a step back at her harsh words. You knew this was a dangerous job, that going after Escobar was an almost certain deathwish, but you had still agreed to do it, and you still wanted to hold onto some sense of humanity, not just be a cold shell that went through the motions every day. Maybe that was the rookie part of you after all, “perhaps you’d do well to remember that Murphy and Peña are just your partners. Especially Peña; I am not immune to the rumors and follies that float around in this office. And if you can’t remember that, maybe you’d best start looking for another job.”
“With all due respect, Ambassador-”
“This conversation is over,” she didn’t bother to spare a final glance before gathering her papers back together, “come back and see me in a few days if they still aren’t back, and then we’ll take the next steps. Do I make myself clear?”
“Crystal,” you struggled to hold back your tears, feeling them prick at the back of your eyes as you rushed out of her office. You knew she was right, at least to a certain extent, but it didn’t make your current predicament any easier.
At this point you were sure that you couldn’t handle staying in the office any longer, so you grabbed your stuff and headed home, stopping by a corner market to pick up cheap wine to keep you company for the evening. It was better than being stuck all alone with only your thoughts after all; having flashes of Pena and Murphy somehow getting killed was starting to drive you crazy.
But despite your best efforts, nothing held your attention for long, which was precisely why you had resorted to watching programs in Spanish, trying your best to follow along with what they were saying. Spanish wasn’t your strong suit, you’d grasped the basics and then some, all the slang and curses of course (the latter part mostly thanks to Javier), and could hold a conversation well enough, but it was nothing compared to Javier’s natural fluency. Even if you looked like you might somehow actually belong in Columbia, your accent and lack of comprehension gave you away every time, as you stared at the person with your big wide doe eyes (that little comment was courtesy of Murphy). Javier enjoyed teasing you about it every time. You didn’t mind.
You sighed to yourself as you realized that you might never see him again. Your last interaction with him had hardly been a proper goodbye
“I can’t believe you told that witch to keep me away from this,” you glared at Javier as he started to gather supplies, Murphy closely following behind him. When he didn’t respond, you just shoved his chest, which quickly got his attention. He easily captured your wrists in his large hands and gave you a stern look, “you’re an asshole, Javi. Even Carrillo thinks I can handle myself just find out in the field.”
“I don’t give a shit what Carrillo thinks,” his voice was low, signaling the end of conversation as he released you from his strong grip. You looked over at Murphy, who was busy intently pretending not to be listening to your exchange. He was going to be of no help to you.
“Well I do,” you were just trying to get a rouse out of him; if he wasn’t going to let you come, you might as well annoy him, “Carrillo is a better everything than you could ever wish to be.”
“You think so, huh?” you’d gotten under skin, you could immediately tell by the way the muscles in his shoulders tensed, and the almost growl he adopted. You put your hands on your hips, eyebrow raised as you just nodded at him, “listen here, kid. This is dangerous. You think you know what to expect out there, you think you know what’s it like out there? You haven’t even seen a dead body, have you? You really think you could go out there and handle that?”
“This is my job-”
“You’re still green,” he insisted, “and this is not the time or place for you to suddenly decide to be the hero. I’m trying to protect you.”
“I don’t need you to protect me,” you insisted, the way his voice had softened with his last words not lost on you, “I can handle myself.”
“You’re insufferable, you know that?” he sighed heavily as he exchanged a look with Murphy, “you’re staying here and that is final. And if I hear even the slightest hint of you trying to weasel your way in from anyone else, I’ll have your ass on the first flight back to the States.”
“I’m insufferable?” you threw up your hands in exasperation at him. He was so thick skulled and stubborn sometimes, it drove you up the wall, “what about you, old man? Scared of what will happen if I get there and make you look bad?”
“I have it had it up to here-”
“Will the two of you just shut up already?” Murphy had finally had enough of the two bickering back and forth. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence by any means, no, the two of you were constantly up in arms. Sometimes it was over the who made the better shitty office coffee, his incessant chain smoking, your habit of wearing high heels, his use of informants. Everything. But the two of you were starting to get on his last nerve, which said enough considering that Murphy was a patient man.
“Steve-”
“Just stop arguing and fuck already,” he said and you immediately felt all the blood in your body flow to your face, sure you were just as flushed as you as deep red tomato. You didn’t dare look at Javier for fear of the expression on his face, “or do whatever you need to in order to stop getting at each other’s throats all the time. You’re worse than children.”
“Well, you’re both the worst,” it was the only thing retort you could come with after his little outburst. You kept your back turned to Javier as you stormed out of the storage locks without another word, “have fun or whatever. Don’t get shot, I guess.”
You cringed slightly at the memory, wishing it had gone slightly smoother than that. You seriously hoped that wasn’t the last interaction you’d have with either of them, especially Javier. You didn’t know what you would do if that was the last time you’d gotten to see him.
But you pushed the memories to the back of your mind as you  felt the sweet lull of slumber finally start to win over, a loud, booming knock came at your door causing you to jump and almost fall off of the couch. You sighed heavily before collecting yourself and pausing to glance at the clock on the wall. It was nearing two in the morning - no one in their right mind should have been at your door. Your first thought was that it was someone coming after you, someone that had decided they had a vendetta against you, coming to make you pay for your sins.
Instinctively, you moved to the kitchen and grabbed your gun, holding it in front of you as you headed towards the door, alarmed by another loud knock. Putting your hand on the knob, you swallowed the lump that had worked its way into your throat. You were suddenly wide awake as the adrenaline rushed through your veins. After mentally counting to five, you yanked the door open, gun cocked and aimed at whoever had decided to come after you, ready to pull the trigger and stand your ground. Maybe you were green, but you were confident in the fact that you could hold your own if you suddenly had to.
Instead of an enemy, you found yourself face to face with none other than Javier Peña.
“Javi,” his nickname rolled off your lips in a quiet whisper as you met his warm brown eyes, your own already stinging and on the verge of spilling over with tears. You felt like you could breathe again, waves of relief crashing down on you as you realized he was alive. But at a price. He looked tired, very tired, and worn out, his hair a mess and his clothes looking in need of a wash, much like the rest of his sweaty body. But he was alive, and that was the operative fact, and the only fact you cared about in that moment.
“Were you going to shoot me, kid?” he asked, his deep velvety voice reached your ears and causing your stomach to flutter slightly. He looked between you and your still outstretched hand before grabbing the gun, removing the cartridge of bullets, and tossing it to the side where it clanged to the ground with a loud metallic clang. He studied you silently, almost in a challenging way, trying to see which one of you would break down first. He was the one that had showed up on your doorstep after all.
But it wasn’t going to be you because you weren’t able to find any words. Instead you were frozen in time, your body humming with content as you realized that all of your worry had been for nothing. He was okay, he was alive, and he was currently mere inches away from you; you could feel his body heat radiating onto yours, his natural musk invading every bit of your senses.
You had missed him more than you thought, for reasons that were known to you, but you would never speak out loud. You didn’t want to hear the words ever come out of your mouth because that would mean that they were true, that your feelings for Javi were more than just those of friends and partners. That your feelings were those that made it seem like he was the reason for all the glittering stars in the night sky, that he was your morning sunshine after a dark night of rain.
But Javier didn’t need you to say anything.
It all happened fast; so fast that you didn’t even have a chance to process what was going on before he put his hands on either side of your face and crashing his lips onto yours. It was needy, fast, bruising, and everything you hadn’t realized you’d been waiting for. After reality hit you like a train,  you responded by throwing your arms around his neck, carding a hand through the hair at the nape of his neck as  his rough hands found your waist, his fingers quickly finding their way under the hem of your shirt and brushing along the soft skin.
It was hard and fast, the two of you expressing your desires without the use of words, only pulling apart when you needed a breath of air. You looked up at him and found him staring back at you, his eyes expressing an emotion you couldn’t quite place. It was intense, frightening, and most of all hungry. He was the hunter and you were his prey.
“Y/N,” Javi’s voice was barely above a whisper as he kissed you a few more times, eventually finding your jaw and working his way down your neck. It took everything in your power not to moan out loud at his touch, at the feel of his lips on your delicate flesh, and you bit your lip as you kept your arms around his neck. But before you could let it go any further, something snapped inside you and you came to your senses and put your hands on his chest, a silent plea for him to stop. As much as you wanted him to continue, to somehow have it end up in your bedroom, with you under him as he gave you what you had been desperately wanting, you knew you shouldn’t. He was your partner, your friend, and on top of all of that, he was older and he had a reputation.
It was a reputation he had earned for a reason, and that was enough for you to stop whatever might transpire before it got any further.
“Javi,” you said as he pulled back from you, looking at you with concern written all over his face. You shook your head and took a step back from him, already saddened by the loss of his body against yours, “we...we shouldn’t do this. We can’t do this.”
You pointed between your bodies, biting your lip in a way that drove him crazy, not that he would ever admit that, and sighed. Sometimes your rationalism got the best of you, and you wished you could just throw it out the window. How you wished you could just have him then and there, to feel him all over your body.
“Why?” he asked quietly as he put a hand on your cheek before ghosting his fingers over the contours of your face, and he wondered, momentarily, why he’d waited so long to touch your soft skin.  Part if you wished you had let him continue, but the rational part of your brain told you that you’d done the right thing, “I thought...we...that there was something there? Between us.”
“We can’t,” you just repeated softly, “we’re friends...partners...this can only end in two ways, and neither of them are good.”
“Give me a good reason. Just one good reason,” he insisted and you knew he had a valid point, but you also both knew what you were trying to say, “tell me you don’t want this. Tell me I’ve been wrong in thinking that there was something between us this whole time. Tell me I’m wrong. And if you don’t want this, it stops here and I’ll walk away.
You looked at him silently for a few moments, his eyes pleading with yours, rendering you  unable to form a coherent thought; you wanted to tell him that he was right, but all you could see was looming heartbreak on the horizon, and you weren’t about to willingly put yourself through torture for nothing. Not with him or anyone else.
Every other relationship you had had blown up into a million pieces in front of your very eyes. You weren’t able to subject yourself to that again, no matter how much you longed for him, no matter how many nights you spent alone in bed, thinking of him, wishing he was there with you. You finally, painstakingly, met his eyes, giving him a small grimace before shrugging your shoulders, “I...I don’t want this.”
A lie. A bold lie you both could easily see through.
“Okay,” he took a step back, shaking his head at you as he tried to keep himself in check. He wanted to yell, to scream, to cry, something - anything. But instead, he moved silently towards the door, stepping through it without so much as another look at you, slamming it shut behind him. You winced slightly at the loud sound before slumping back down onto the couch. You gave the wine bottle a pathetic look, wishing you had more so you could block the events that had just transpired.
Either you had just made the wisest decision of all, or you had possibly made the biggest mistake.
It was a fine line between the two.

"Why did you bring them here?" Wanda hissed while Steve sheepishly shrugged.
"We wanted to meet her!" Clint exclaims as he bustles through with Bucky, who calmly walks through with a slight smile towards Wanda.
Bucky, she can understand being with Steve and all, but Clint?
While she loved Clint too, he had a knack for putting his nose in places that it doesn't belong in.
"Wanda, who's at the--oh, hello," you smile a little sheepishly because you've got some flour on your cheek, and you're in an apron. You run your fingers through your hair, grinning when you notice Steve.
"Hi, I'm Clint, and that's Bucky!" Clint is shaking your hand excitedly while Wanda is scowling at him.
"So, how did you meet--" Clint is cut off abruptly when Wanda walks past him.
"I'm hungry," Wanda says as she passed you into the kitchen. You don't really have the time to answer Clint's question, so you nod your head after Wanda.
"Why don't you all stay for dinner? I think I might've made too much for just Wanda and me, anyways," You walk back to the kitchen to finish cooking and baking.
Wanda is sitting at the table, frowning at Clint while he merely smiles charmingly at her.
"She's pretty," Clint comments quietly enough so only everyone at the table will hear.
Wanda frowns more deeply.
"You two seem compatible," Clint comments further, and Wanda doesn't know how to take it.
"We probably don't have anything in common," Wanda whispers consciously back.
The talking stops as you bring the food out to the table, settling a beautiful golden brown peach cobbler on the table.
"Oh," Clint eyes the dessert with a twinkle in his eye, "Wanda's got you making peach cobbler, huh?"
It's such a weird comment, Wanda thinks. She thinks that Clint should've also just said that it was Wanda's favorite, but it's not like he knows that Wanda hasn't told you that it's her favorite.
You hum, scrunching your brows. "No, I just like peach cobbler, it's my favorite."
And for the rest of the dinner, Wanda can't avoid Clint's teasing and sparkling eyes because he's noticing that she's eating every single bite.
Everyone's buzzing around her, talking about the change you've brought to Wanda when no one has been able to for a year.
And for a moment, there's a pressure hanging over Wanda not to slip.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
A month and a half.
Time passes by, and it feels like things have and haven't changed.
The cut on your hand has long since healed, but Wanda can't help but notice its faint scar every day.
They're currently eating on the couch, opting to stray from the dining table as they watch TV together.
You have the volume lower because you love eating together. It may be the only time that Wanda says what she's thinking.
"What do you do for a living?" Wanda blurts out because it occurs to her even after all this time, she doesn't know anything about you.
You turn to her and smile at her outburst.
"I'm a pediatric psychologist," you tell her, "I own my own practice, but I have my business partner running the show while I'm on leave."
Wanda's quiet for a moment, a little tense, and you give her a reassuring smile.
"Relax," you tell her, "you're not my patient, and I'm not constantly psychoanalyzing you. We're just...friends."
And while Wanda says nothing about the friends comment, she does lower her shoulders. She tries to think about you working with children, and Wanda sees you being a wonderful psychologist.
But then you're looking at the TV again, and the silent stretches and Wanda blurts things out without thinking, "Your family must be proud."
"I don't have a family," you say, looking at the TV a moment longer before looking at Wanda.
A small chuckle leaves your lips, "Well, I suppose I shouldn't say that. I did have a brother, but when my parents died when I was 8, he was only 18 and decided he couldn't take care of me and left me at an orphanage. Unfortunately, at that age, no one really wants to adopt you."
And while you explain it nonchalantly as if to convey to Wanda to not worry about it, she bites down on her tongue as her own voice comes back to dig at her.
"Do you have a brother or sister who loved you, would do anything for you?"
God, she had been so fucking callous.

"You look good. Healthy. Not skeleton-y," Natasha comments as she cuts some apples up for Wanda.
Wanda only hums, stirring the spoon around her bowl of food that you had left her before going. Natasha came shortly after, unplanned and unannounced as always.
"Where is she, by the way?" Natasha asks as she looks around but doesn't find you.
"Shopping," Wanda answers. The words are short and contrite, and Natasha could tell that Wanda was glad for your absence, but she didn't know the guilt and shame that came along with it.
Natasha makes a sound in reply, cleaning the knife that cut the apples when Wanda blurted out, "Have you--Is there a way to apologize to someone without saying it?"
Natasha tries to hold her grin but can't hide her snort.
"Why? Did you have a fight with her?" Natasha asks.
"No," Wanda says immediately, eyes shifting to the side, "I just...might have said something I shouldn't have."
"Hm," Natasha hums, leaning back against the counter with her arms crossed. "And it's too hard for you to actually just say you're sorry?"
"A little," Wanda thinks about her pride.
"How do you expect her to know you're sorry then?"
"That's why I'm asking you."
Natasha merely snorts again and stands up straight.
"You know," Natasha starts, "Steve texted me that he's caught the two of you holding hands while sleeping a few times now."
"That's--" Wanda blushes, rushing to explain, but she really has no explanation.
"Whatever the reason is," Natasha cuts her off, "I'm just saying it's probably really straining for her to be holding your hand while on the ground."
"We're not--" Wanda tries again, but Natasha blows her off.
"I mean, if you were on the same level, it would probably be easier to do whatever you're doing."
Natasha doesn't say anything else and lets Wanda mull over her words, still stirring her food around.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
"Hey," You breathlessly say, "I got that candy you wanted. They didn't have the family-sized, so I just got you a couple bags."
"Thanks," Wanda says as she sits at the kitchen island, wringing her shirt a little nervously.
"Oh, did Natasha come by?" You asked as you looked at the cut apples. "She always cuts the apples the best way. It looks like a bunny!"
"Mhm," Wanda hums, the words clawing at the back of her throat.
She coughs, clearing her throat and grabbing your attention.
"About yesterday..."
You smiled kindly at her, taking pity on how hard Wanda was trying right now.
"It's really fine, Wanda. It's all in the past. I hardly even remember it, and everything turned for fine for me in the end, see?" You twirl around for her to exaggerate what you said, giving her a brighter smile as you start to put the groceries away.
But Wanda calls your name again.
It's really bothering her.
You turn back to look at her with curious eyes while Wanda knaws on her lips.
"He was a coward to not try for you."
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
"So, have you thought about maybe painting again?" You ask, helping Wanda shift through all the requests she's gotten over the years, sorting by the most prominent requesters.
It had been a year since Wanda even picked up a paintbrush because every time she had previously, the colors would quickly turn black, splattered over the canvas before Wanda would puncture holes through it with her brush.
All alone, the inspiration had long left her, crumbling beneath her until nothing held her footing.
But these days, Wanda would get a glimpse of a color or an image in her mind, but her fingers would only twitch at the urge.
Because if she paints, it would be the same as admitting that you were helping her, and that left her at risk of losing again.
And she was only at risk of losing again because you would inch your way past all her barriers, and having a piece of her heart.
A piece that Wanda has no control over.
Wanda doesn't say anything to the question, just stares at the blank canvas that she hasn't ruined.
"You shouldn't hold back," you tell her, "I'll be here for you."
"For now," Wanda grumbles faster than she can hold it, but it opens her up to you.
"I'll always be here for you."
"You can't promise that!" Wanda hisses at you before biting her tongue and remaining silent because she doesn't want to say anything that she'll regret later on again.
It's silent for a moment, and Wanda freezes up the moment she feels you touching her hand, and yanks it away on instinct. She regrets it immediately, though, when Wanda sees you recoil back with an apologetic look on your face.
"I'm sorry, that was inappropriate of me."
The apology is completely sincere and falls off your tongue so easily, and Wanda is crumbling underneath in guilt.
⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷⋆⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
You tell Wanda goodnight and go to the couch without waiting for her to respond back to it.
Wanda lies silently in her bed, looking at the ceiling.
The hand holding always came sometime in the middle of the night, first when you heard her having a nightmare, and then came regardless after you thought she was asleep.
But tonight, you don't come. It's in consideration for Wanda that you don't, she knows, but it makes her want to scream.
It's absolutely petrifying to be open with someone, be willing to take steps towards them. It left you susceptible to pain, and Wanda's done very well at not experiencing more pain.
On the one hand, Wanda did not want to get hurt again, but on the other, she was not willing to give up the hand holding.
Natasha's words come back into her head.
"I mean, if you were on the same level, it would probably be easier to do whatever you're doing."
Her heart thumps as she gets up, her blanket falling to the floor as she steps out the door, walking across into the living room to the couch.
You're still awake.
"Are you okay?"
No, Wanda decides, she's not fucking okay.
And even though Wanda is the one to lift your blanket up, she's the one who feels exposed as she forces her way to lie next to your body on the couch.
She uses the blanket and grips it to cover her shoulder. She's as tense as a rock, and her eyes are fraught with nervousness. She miraculously tenses even more when you put your arms over her, gently messaging her neck.
And Wanda stays like that until she becomes a soft puddle in your arms. Her forehead is pressed against your chin, and her eyes are screwed shut as she opens her mouth in a raspy whisper.
"I'm sorry."

Did Kai have any sort of family after losing her foster family and becoming the Demon King? Or did she only have her husband?
Yes actually!!! A lot of Kai’s own story involves her own found family collection (i say collection just. cuz she tends to outlive them)
I’ve briefly mentioned she has a few kids and you see them in one of my sketchbook tours
but she also has a group of friends who she was close to
and the opening chapter of one of her ‘stories’ involves her dealing with the loss of a close friend she considered family (she even tried to go through legal means to see him but when humans turned around and said fuck you she snuck in. I can actually post this writing if people wanna read it?)
She also has some of her adoptive family still alive tho the bloodline is thinner. The Hellsing family she was raised in still exists to a point in her story (before the great catastrophe at least) Her whole ‘became the demon king’ thing happened when her uncle attacked her but she was able to get her sister in law and unborn nephew to escape while she distracted the rest (i have a whole ass animatic planned for this to the song “monster” from frozen’s musical. someday. someday I’ll be able to sit down on it weep)
This nephew was the one who hired Ren to help find “the king of fear” as she was known at that point. Alex is a good boy. His son was the one who went to find his great aunt after Ren’s death and she fully became a fallen god and offered her a place to stay and just. try to relax. She ended up falling into a deep sleep for a while and his family was the ones to build the ‘tomb’ she normally rests in when ever she has these extreme ‘low energy’ periods which can last between 5 years to her longest one was 5000. Typically she’ll rest for between 20-50 years at a time. and there’s a legit reason she does this too. But that’s not about family---
Point is that family is still very fond of their matriarchal demoness and she helped them found “Prometheus” a group to help humans deal with monsters and monsters live in peace. (cuz boy howdy do people have trigger fingers) there are other groups in their world with either similar goals or ones to ‘suppress’ monsters (example: The Order is a group who sees monsters as tools and lesser beings. sometimes Prometheus is forced to work with them and normally they send strong demons or dragons and such so that The Order can’t do anything to their operative. it was on one of these collaborations that Kai kidnapped Booberry from them. she regrets nothing.)
Kai often just refers to the current descendant as just “her nephew” as she’s too lazy to shove the amount of “great” in front of it because she’s old. there’s only one case of a niece and that’s where the bloodline ended (again that’s another story all together)
When Kai woke up after the Great Catastrophe alone she ended up meeting a young man named Leo (who if you look in Kai’s tag on my blog you can see him!) Who she bonded with and she likes hanging out with (and there’s other things but I’m not gonna talk about it)
There’s also her ‘generals’ and a few of them are gonna show in TLC soon (just a brief cameo) A group of 4 who’ve met Kai in a few incarnations and they always tend to get along. Original names were Matt, Trisha, Faith, and Maki is Maki (she’s an elf so she lives longer) Current names are Byron, Tiffny, Jacob and Maki. These four actually form Ren’s party when he’s trying to find his wife at the actual start of “Nightmare’s Dream” and you learn they each have a connection to Kai through the story.
Matt/Branden/Byron; he’s featured in the writing I mentioned up top, he’s kinda similar to Leo in the way he interacts with Kai as an almost human morality pet for Kai. He used to be Kai’s student when she was teaching, and his father was the warden at the jail her friend Sammy was in (this is the friend she lost) Matt can see through her disguise when she’s showcasing nightmares. Kai can cause hallucinations on targets using her ‘fear’ hence her title “king of fear” and normally they are only visible to her and her target. But Matt can see them.
He ends up getting in trouble a few times; once with a tribe of demons who want to turn children into imps, once with the literal Anti christ, once with a haunted house. And each time Kai was there and ends up saving him.
Matt later is in an accident and ends up reincarnating as a winged human named Branden and has all his past memories. So when he starts working at Prometheus as one of their ‘informants’ (aka he goes to gather information in both human and supernatural affairs. he’s referred to often as the angel of trust because of his silver tongue) and he meets her again he shouts something from one of his classes with her causing her to snap back on reflex until she realizes (running joke is Kai loathes Julius Ceaser and if you say his name she always whips around shouting “WAS A SLUT AND A HARLOT” in a very aggressive tone. It makes people laugh when she does and she always gets embarrassed afterwards)
The two of them end up working together for a while and become good friends (and maybe a bit more but they never state really) but then when with his new work partner Trisha (nicknamed angel of death, she works in the sector that deals with cleanup) he ends up betraying Prometheus and Trisha rips his wings off and kills him (this is the context between the ‘redraw’ meme I do every few years of a man with a bleeding back drowning)
Trisha is also someone who grew close to Kai (hence she killed Branden because his folly led to Kai nearly going berserk) but she was killed by a sleeper agent from the order. And this is how Kai lost two of her close friends.
Now backing up to Sammy the inmate one; he was with her when Kai met her first child, the young moon goddess Artemis. Arty is a constant for the demoness ever since she picked her up in the woods (her arc also has one of my favorite kai lines: (which i can’t find the direct line but)
Sam shuddered as he looked around the woods, “Do you ever feel like there’s 100 eyes watching you?”
“Yes but it didn’t work out so we broke up.” The demon responded flatly as she looked around with a deep set scowl.
While she was out with Sammy when he was hunting they ended up finding a little girl who turned out to be a new goddess and her elder sister was kidnapped by the embodiment of Greed in his attempt to become a god. Kai ends up stopping this but also kinda ends up becoming Arty’s mom. While she doesn’t raised Arty fully she does do a lot of teaching and such for her and does refer to her as “her daughter” and Arty calls her mom. when the great catastrophe occurs, Arty is one of the few gods who remained when the rest went to new ‘realms’ or simply vanished and is considered one of the main gods of their world because of this.
And then there’s her son Ganon, an Orc Lord she adopted when his village was ruined. he currently poses as her ‘demon king’ while she pretends to be the chancellor (this is the ruse she uses. normally heroes will fight the ‘king’ and lose but if they actually are a threat or have poor reasoning she kills them from behind. this is also how the story starts as someone found a spell to try and incapacitate her buttt)
There’s also morte and her daughter demeter (I’ve shown them before, a set of necromancers) who she’s very friendly with. Demeter even calls her aunty Kaya and loves to sit on her lap and such during meetings. (i have one snippet when Kai was recruiting someone to their side but hadn’t told her yet she was the REAL demon king and Demeter was sitting on her lap laughing) Morte is thankful to Kai for saving her circus (Morte runs a circus that helps those stuck in limbo pass on but at one point demons of sin over took it in a way to gather souls)
There’s also her friend Ciera, the daughter of the girm reaper. she’s Kai’s best friend for the most part of her life, and is the one who helps Ren when the gods of life and death try to prevent him from reincarnating again (which is like other things a whole other story) (she also briefly shows in Bone Stealer at one point. While visiting bunny’s sick grandmother, Bunny and Steve run into Ciera as she’s leaving. Steve stops Bunny from attacking her) She’s over all chill.
There’s also Nicki. Kai’s ‘twin’ brother. He’s the ‘bad guy’ through the arc that contains Leo and sets up ‘the great Split’ that Kai will cause (this is lore/plot stuff) He originally was raised to hate her by their maternal Uncle who’s a arch mage like Ren however he’s fallen due to his hatred of Kai’s birth. Nicki is not really her brother (in the first life) but a failed clone of the demoness. When Kai is reborn Nicki gets to actually be her brother and the two get along really well and he’s very protective of his sister now that he understands what her actual deal is and not the bs his uncle fed him. Before the rebirth too Nicki helped kai solve some stuff and worked with her until his death (unlike her, he was not immortal)
And then Kai actually has two bio children with Ren! Akito her son takes after her and he’s the one who takes over her role as the true demon king of Tir-Na-Nocht so she’s able to die and try life again, and a daughter, Rei who takes after Ren in looks but... she’s a himbo. pure moron. she got her grandpa’s himbo gene strong. She’s a cat girl who works with her brother and she is the head of the guard.
Aki actually has his own story where he grew up in a ‘mundane’ world but then his entire class got ‘isekaid’ to another. it gets shown that this isn’t truly the case. the great ‘split’ mentioned above was Kai literally broke the world in two realms. She made one primarily humans and high tech and then the other was magic and mostly monsters. there are a mix of both but it cut down heavily on the murder. She raised Aki in the human side for his and Rei’s safety due to them being the children of a fallen god (mama worries) and Aki inherited his mother’s odd ‘status’ “Hero/Demon King”  so he has to not expose his demon nature and also stay below the radar (it turns out the person who summoned them was attempting to break a centuries old treaty) until his mother and father can figure out what happened to him (thankfully he can go to a church and his older sister Arty can act as a messenger but there’s a bit of a time split in the worlds) That world is actually the one “Fae Rules” takes place in o7o.
She also is friends with a dead prince named “Shade” (yes this is who you think it is) as well as her ‘cousin’ Sena (who she loves to give shit to)
And in her second life she obvs has her brother, cousins, her father (her father’s boyfriend/her manny), aunt’s etc!!!
So yes; she had family other than her husband!!!! And she cherishes them all.

I heard that you're settled down That you found a girl and you're married now I heard that your dreams came true Guess she gave you things, I didn't give to you
 2005
You came into your house after returning from school, everything was supposed to have changed, the mutants no longer had to hide, and weren't taken to the Garland Detention Center.
"I'm home," you said after closing the door.
There was no answer, maybe they didn't hear you.
"Mom, Dad," you called as you walked down the aisle.
It was strange to you that they didn’t say anything, you returned to the hall, maybe they left you a message there and you hadn't seen it yet, there was no note, probably something had happened, some last-minute mission, although it was rare that you hadn't been warned.
While they weren't your biological parents; Clarice and John had adopted you after yours were killed by the Purifiers when you were a baby, although the fact that you were adopted didn't care much because you were happy with your family, even your last name was Proudstar and they love you as her daughter.
But when you entered the kitchen, a scream came out of your throat; there were their bodies, you could tell at first glance that they had tried to defend themselves, even though it was not enough.
"No! Mom! Dad!”
You tried to move them, you were hoping they'd still be alive, even if they were badly hurt, you didn't get the idea that they were dead.
I heard that you're settled down That you found a girl and you're married now I heard that your dreams came true Guess she gave you things, I didn't give to you
"There's someone here," a woman said.
You didn't even hear when someone came into your house; for a moment you thought they were your parents’ killers who had come back or listened to you.
“Are you Y/N? Y/N Proudstar, Clarice's, and John's daughter? The woman questioned.
You nodded, you didn't know if to trust, you didn't even know who that woman was, within seconds a man came into the kitchen.
"When did you arrive? Fury asked you.
"About 10 minutes ago," you replied scared.
"You'll come with us, Coulson, accompany her to take her belongings and help her," Nick said.
"What? I'm not going anywhere, I don't even know who you are, how can I be sure you're not going to do me the same as my parents?”
"We are S.H.I.E.L.D. we received your parents' message asking for help and that we take care of you.”
“How do I know they are S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
Your parents had told you everything, yet without proof, you couldn't believe them.
Fury and Coulson showed their IDs, they weren't lying, you sighed, you went to your bedroom followed by Coulson and you started storing things in suitcases and backpacks, they hadn't specified any item limits on you, so you'd take as much as you could.
Old friend, why are you so shy? Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light
I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it I had hoped you'd see my face And that you'd be reminded that for me, it isn't over
 2012
You walked as fast as you could, that day you were late, you were carrying the report of the last mission you were gone to.
You didn't pay attention around you, so you crashed into something hard, you thought it had been against a wall, because of the impact, you fell.
"I'm sorry, miss, okay?” The ‘wall’ said to help you lift.
"Captain, I'm sorry, I didn't see it," you apologized.
Steve help you pick up the leaves, within a few seconds Coulson showed up.
"Agent Proudstar, the report," he asked.
"I was already taking him to his office right now," you replied.
"I see you've met, your next mission will be together," Coulson said.
You knew who Steve was, but you remembered he didn't know who you were, you still didn't show up.
"Agent Y/N Proudstar," you said, smiling.
Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you, too "Don't forget me, " I beg I remember you said "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead" "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"
 2018
"I know we've lost a lot these days, but you remember I was going to ask you something the day Bruce called us. You know when Thanos...”
"Yes," you answered while you were accommodating some things
Steve took your arm to stop and pay attention to him.
"What's going on?”
"Marry me," he asked.
"Just like that? Are you sure? I mean, you always told me you wanted Bucky to be in...”
"We try to get everything back to normal, Thanos is dead we can't do much, but we can try to be happy and get on with our lives, it seems like that's all we can do.”
"I think it's going to be enough for Nat to be there," you said.
He took your answer as if he ‘I do’ and kissed you.
You know how the time flies Only yesterday was the time of our lives We were born and raised in a summer haze Bound by the surprise of our glory days
 2023
You looked down, you knew Steve had told you a lie... or worse he had lied to you all that time.
As soon as he left you started running towards the trees, you didn't want to know anything anymore, if you could... If you could... you probably would have done the same thing and prevent your parents from being killed.
“Y/N!” Bucky called you.
You didn't listen to him, you kept running, you wanted to go as far as you could, you'd like to somehow forget everything and Bucky finally caught you, grabbed your arm, and stopped you.
"He's gone, he went with Peggy," you started sobbing.
Bucky hugged you, he didn't know what to say or do to comfort you, he knew what you were saying was true.
"He left us... Bucky, he left us...”
Yes, Steve had left them, but Bucky didn't understand exactly what you meant, you hadn't even had a chance to say anything, you didn't know now what to do, the feeling was a thousand times worse than when you lost your parents.
I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it I had hoped you'd see my face And that you'd be reminded that for me, it isn't over
 1947
Steve peeked into the door of the house where Peggy was living.
He saw her pass, at least now he was sure he hadn't got the wrong house; he needed a few more minutes before knocking the door and that's when he saw Daniel kissing Peggy and after the couple split up, she took the baby from the crib.
Peggy found her right partner after Steve had ended up on the ice...
Steve stayed a week in that time, it would probably be a month after the last time he had seen them...
You didn't expect to be welcomed... but he would do his best to recover what he had ruined.
Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you, too "Don't forget me, " I begged I remember you said "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"
 2019
"Orphanages are full," you said while you're taking the last picture you'd been taken with your parents.
"Everything is complicated," Steve replied, and he was reading the newspaper.
"We should adopt some or some of those little ones, I was very happy when Clarice and John adopted me," you said looking at the picture.
"You think they're going to let us? We’re superheroes, I don't think they want to expose children to danger," Steve replied, taking his eyes off the newspaper.
You kept thinking for a few minutes, Steve was right, you didn't know exactly if another threat would show up, no one knew.
"You're right.”
"But we can do some," Steve proposed, approaching you.
"Captain," you said seductively.
Nothing compares, no worries or cares Regrets and mistakes, they're memories made Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?
 2023
Steve returned to where he belonged, took everyone by surprise, as soon as they heard the machine activate Bruce and Bucky immediately went to see what was going on, Bruce had installed it at the Compound in case it was necessary, they feared it would be some other enemy, no one expected him to return, as soon as they saw him a sepulchral silence took over the room.
Bucky decided to take him outside, no one dared say what had happened.
“And Y/N?” Steve asked
Steve had immediately noticed your absence, Bucky bit his lip, and he didn't know how to explain it.
"Buck, and Y/N? I know she must be angry...”
"She didn't make it on the last mission," he finally confessed.
"What?”
"Something went wrong and...”
Steve turned around and started walking inland from the Compound.
“DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND? YOU WERE HER HAPPY ENDING…!”
Steve didn't keep listening to what his friend was saying, he went to the base and went straight into the room that you and he shared, and if he hadn't left... if it hadn't been so hollow head... you'd still be alive.
He opened the drawer of your nightstand where you kept the photos, he wanted to see you, he saw that something flew out when he took out the album and it was frozen as soon as he saw the object.
She took the positive pregnancy test, the day he left, you seemed so nervous, so you insisted that he wasn't the one to return the Stones.
There was only one way to get you back, this time I wouldn't ruin it, he took some things from the room and headed to where the time machine was.
Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you "Don't forget me, " I beg I remember you said "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"
 2010
You knocked on Fury's office, you were sent to call, and you thought it was for a new mission.
"Agent Proudstar, I'm glad you came," Nick said.
“What do you need a Director?”
"This is Steve Rogers, Captain America," Fury said, pointing to Steve.
"Captain, I'm Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Y/N Proudstar," you introduced yourself smiling.
Your smile, Steve had missed her so much.
He stretched out his hand to greet you and smiled, he was going to fix everything that had happened, he would love you again and no mistakes this time, and he was going to make sure you were happy together.
.
Never mind, I'll find someone like you I wish nothing but the best for you, too "Don't forget me, " I begged I remember you said "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead" "Sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"

Steve Harrington as a dad: Headcanons
Tumblr media
Warnings: dad!Steve, pregnancy, mentions of smut, childbirth, fluff, angst
Word Count: 3k
A/N: I’m back with more dad!Steve content! Hope you enjoy. Feel free to leave a comment or some feedback to let me know if you liked it! Reblogs/likes/comments are always appreciated.
As soon as you and Steve had enough money, you left Hawkins
You didn’t see anything there for you anymore and you wanted to escape the haunting memories of the events that took place there
You both moved somewhere more populated, like Indianapolis
You settle on a small, white house in a suburban neighborhood that has baby blue shutters and a decently sized backyard
It’s not much but it was perfect for the two of you
Plus, being as young as you were there weren’t many places willing to let you move in
You also didn’t want to ask Steve’s parents for money, because Steve refused to be tied to them in any way
You do everything yourself like moving furniture, painting walls, decorating the living room
It’s a bonding experience in and of itself and you both almost killed each other at least seven times because of how overworked and annoyed you both got
As soon as you get comfortable you immediately adopt a dog
It’s a puppy from a local shelter with two different colored eyes and it immediately falls in love with Steve
(It’s also lowkey gives Steve baby fever but we’ll get to that later)
The puppy is the cutest thing you’ve ever seen and literally becomes Steve’s best friend
They’re always playing together and if Steve is gone for too long they mope around the house like he’s abandoned them
They also love to sleep on Steve, even after they’ve quadrupled in size and are far too heavy to be laying on anyone’s lap
You always come home to both of them napping on the couch
Steve jokes around that one day the dog will crush him but he secretly loves it
Okay anyways back to baby fever
One day, you’re both outside enjoying your evening walk in the neighborhood with your then puppy when they see your neighbor’s kids playing in the yard
They freak out and take off running and the leash accidentally slips out of Steve’s grip
When Steve gets to them, they’ve tackled the poor toddler to the ground
Steve’s like “Oh shit oh my god I’m fucked my dog is attacking a kid” but really the toddler is laughing and squealing and she loves your pup’s kisses so much
Obviously, you both apologize to their mom that was outside watching them from the porch
She plays it off and isn’t mad at all and says that they saw you guys walking the other day and her kid freaked out and wanted to play with them but she told them no so she’s glad they finally got to “meet”
When you approach her, you realize she’s holding another small baby, a baby boy, clearly only a few months old
Steve internally is losing his shit because he’s never really been around babies but has always thought they were the most precious things ever
After that, Steve uses your dog as bait to see your neighbor’s kids more
Eventually, you become close with them and Steve is always chatting it up with the toddler girl and bringing her home treats
He plays dress up with her all of the time and they call each other “Prince” and “Princess”
You jabbed at him once saying he’d gotten too soft and he successfully played it off but internally that’s when he realized he wanted a baby of his own
One that looked like the perfect combination of you and him
Steve always thought kids were for people that settled, but now his mind had changed
The kids’ mom loves you both and thinks of you as her own children, so she learned to trusts you very deeply
Which means you’re the one she goes to one day when she has to abruptly leave the house for the day
At first, you regret saying yes because you thought your days as a “babysitter” were over
But seeing Steve come through the door with a 4-year-old girl that adored him leeched onto his leg and a 7-month-old swaddled in his arms Does Things To You
Since the girl is better acquainted with Steve, you let him take her while you stayed on infant duty
You heard them in your spare bedroom
Steve using different voices to impersonate different characters of the game they’re playing
He got more dramatic each time he realized she laughed louder when he did
It made your heart swooooon
But so did Steve’s when he finally got the girl to lay down for a nap and he came to sit with you in the living room only to find you passed out as well with the snoozing baby boy on your chest
You looked so peaceful and natural and Steve couldn’t help but take note at how that’s what you would look like holding his baby one day
The second their mom picks them up, Steve is already scheming up a plan to babysit them again
Okay now onto the actual pregnancy lmao
You’d been feeling sick for a few days now
It’s a nauseous feeling that never really goes away but you just thought you caught the virus that was going around at your work
It wasn’t until Steve made a poor “Are you sure you’re not pregnant?” joke one morning when you were throwing up into the toilet that it even crossed your mind
When you were finally able to get into the doctor’s office, they confirmed it for you
You were pregnant and you didn’t know whether to be overjoyed or terrified
You loved kids and, clearly, so did Steve but how would he feel about raising one of his own?
That night you came home and threw your stuff down, clearly exhausted from hearing such life-changing news
Steve heats you banging stuff around so he goes to see what’s wrong
When you see him you start crying and collapse into his arms and he’s just standing in the kitchen holding you up by your shoulders
He finally coaxes it out of you and gets you to tell him what was bothering you but you being pregnant was the last thing he expected to hear
In theory, he’s overjoyed but in reality, he’s scared
Not only because you’re clearly upset about having a baby and he thinks you don’t want it as much as him but also because he never thought this would be a situation he’d be in
He holds you close for the rest of the night, kissing your forehead and reassuring you that everything will work out and that having a baby isn’t necessarily such a bad thing
You eventually warm up to the idea of having a mini-Steve or a mini-you running around the house and Steve is so relieved and then only gets more enthusiastic about it
He’s literally the perfect partner to have when you’re pregnant
He’s always pampering you and making sure you’re as comfortable as you can be
When he joins you on the couch, he doesn’t even ask he’ll just grab your feet and swing them into his lap and start massaging them and talk to you like it’s nothing
Watches whatever shitty movie you want without putting up a fight
Doesn’t say anything when you get emotional at dumb stuff because of your hormones
(You cried when the dog died in a movie and even though Steve wanted to laugh at you, he just laid there massaging your back until you calmed down)
I also think Steve would grow a lil tummy of his own during your pregnancy
Your cravings are weird and you eat a lot so naturally, Steve joins in which means he gets a little softer in the middle
Steve hates it but it’s really cute and fun to lay on at night
Speaking of bellies, Steve is obsessed with yours
When you start showing, it’s impossible for Steve to keep his hands off of you
He’s always got to have a hand on your stomach
Whether it’s you laying in between his legs on the couch with his arms around your bump or just having his thumb brush over it under the table when you’re at dinner with friends
It’s just a little reminder for himself that his lil bub is in there
(I also think he looooves fucking you when you’re pregnant but I don’t have time to talk about that rn)
He could sit and feel the baby kick for HOURS
He thinks it’s the most entertaining thing in the world to draw shapes on your belly and wait for the baby to react by kicking
You have to tell him to knock it off constantly because it makes the baby push on your bladder and then you have to pee three times more than you already do
He likes to use pillow-talk at night to talk about what you think your baby will be like
He’s always wondering what kind of kid they will be and what kind of music they’re gonna like and whether or not they’ll inherit his untamable hair
(They definitely do c’mon now let’s not kid ourselves)
I think he gets really anxious for a while over if he’ll be able to handle being a dad
His own father wasn’t the best example and he swears up and down that he won’t be like him but there’s always the “what if” in the back of his mind
The last thing he wants is for his child to despise their parents the way he does his own
I don’t think he’d bring it up until you coax it out of him, though
You find him out of bed one night standing in the nursery you had both just put together that afternoon and he’s just staring at the crib with a solemn look on his face
You rub his back and finally get him to talk and he just starts crying because he’s kept it bottled up for so long
Steve’s parents were always a touchy subject with him so you know that his emotions and fear are high for a reason
You bring him back to bed and big spoon him for the only time throughout your entire pregnancy
You don’t really mold well together because of your bump but Steve likes it better that way anyway
The rest of the night is spent with you running your fingers through his hair, pressing small kisses to his bare shoulders, and quietly reassuring him that everything will be fine
And it is
Ok let’s move on to when the baby is actually born
Steve goes into panic panic mode when your water breaks
He’s running around in all directions trying to make sure you guys remembered to pack everything and he kinda just forgets that you’re sitting there on the couch covered in amniotic fluid waiting for him to help you get up
You’re like “Steve the baby isn’t coming for like at least 12 hours will you please just help me put my shoes on it’s not that serious”
He holds your hand the entire time at the hospital when you’re pushing even though he thinks you might have broken his pinky
He tries to convince you to let him look at the baby as it’s coming out and you finally agree but when he takes one look at your baby’s head poking through he’s like “yeah no that was definitely a bad idea”
When he actually sees the baby for the first time as he cuts the umbilical cord he criiiiies
Like a whole lot
He loved them so much when they were in your belly but now they’re alive and kicking and screaming and not just something for Steve to fantasize about
I see Steve as being a girl dad, so let’s say it ends up being a girl
For some reason, I feel like he’d want to name her something kinda weird but still cute
Something like Violet or Brogan or Aria or Phoebe or Rey
She’d look just like Steve with crazy brown hair and brown eyes
He’s obsessed with her and refuses to put her down
He has absolutely no problem taking baby duty on at night because that just means more quality time with his baby girl
Every time she cries it breaks his heart even though he knows she’s just hungry or needs a diaper change
He learns that he sleeps better with her laying on his chest
And so does she
She loves her daddy and it’s the cutest! thing! ever!
(Just the sight of Steve napping with her squishy cheeks scrunched up on his chest is enough to make you want to have another baby real mf quick)
Steve is always taking pictures of her
Which means you’re always in them too
They’re always candids that you think are going to look stupid and you hate when he does it but later on down the line when your kids are all grown up they love seeing how badass and attractive their parents were and you forgive him for all of the times you yelled at him about it
There’re ones of you passed out while breastfeeding (a common occurrence Steve finds absolutely adorable), ones of you looking sleep-deprived as hell while you’re rocking her, ones of you covered in vomit while holding her at arm's length
You get him back by taking like 1,000 pics of her yanking on his precious hair and random ones of the two of them passed out on the couch sleeping in the same exact position as each other with their arm up over their head
(When she’s older and her friends see the pics they develop the fattest crush on him)
((But bold of me to assume he wouldn’t already be the biggest dilf))
The kids are sooo excited to meet her and she ends up loving them as well
The first person Steve called when the baby was born was Dustin and after that, they immediately made plans to have Robin drive them to come visit you as soon as possible
They’re absolutely smitten over her and they keep telling you guys over and over how proud they are of you
(It makes Steve cry but only later that night after they leave)
You joke with them about how you babysat them and kept them out of trouble for so long so now it’s their turn to do the babysitting
Which they never mind because your baby is just too damn cute!
Robin still teases him about, “What’s she gonna think when she finds out her dad is a big ol DOOFUS?!” but Steve doesn’t take it personally anymore and finds it endearing
I see Steve as being his baby’s best friend
He’s always trying to get her to smile and play with her and he’s the exact opposite of most dads that sit around and expect the moms to do all of the work
He’s super involved with her and always wants to make sure she’s having a good time
He takes her to the park with your dog to walk a lot
And every single person that passes by you three gushes over her and congratulates you on making such a beautiful baby and having a perfect family
It makes Steve feel so good to be validated for stuff like that because he knows it’s true
Speaking of the dog
The dog LOVES HER
They’re super protective of her and bark at anyone that gets too close to her until Steve calms them down
Your daughter loves to nap on the dog’s belly and have them give her kisses
You also have a lot of pictures of them growing older together
When she takes her first steps, it’s when Steve is home alone with her
He’s sitting on the couch watching tv while she plays in the floor with her toys like she always does
Steve wasn’t really paying attention until he realized he stopped hearing the rattle of her favorite shaker
When he looks down he sees her propped up on the coffee table and starting to take off from it
He realizes she’s about to start walking and loses his shit
He cheers her on and calls for her to come to daddy and she manages to take three or four steps before falling into his arms
Steve immediately picks her up and throws her into the air and covers her in kisses and tells her how proud he is of her and he can’t wait for mama to get home so she can see what she did
Her first word is also ‘papa’ and it makes Steve cry too
She’s such a daddy’s girl and you’re so relieved because of how worried Steve was over whether or not he’d be a good dad
She’s always bubbly and happy and Steve always looks forward to coming home from work, because even if he has the shittiest day possible he knows seeing her smiling face light up as soon as he walks in the door makes the whole day worth it
He’s always getting sentimental over everything she does because he wants to give her the world and he’s so proud of the little human he helped create and raise
Before she’s even a year old Steve is already talking about having another
You laugh in his face like “yeah right” but then you realize he’s serious
You tell him that you want to wait until she’s at least 2 so you can give her the right amount of attention while she still needs it
Literally the night of her second birthday party after all of the guests leave and the decorations have been taken down and your daughter is in bed in a sugar coma, Steve does his best seductive walk to your bed to try to rile you up
“You said wait until she’s two,” he said while breathing down your neck, peppering kisses along the sensitive skin, “She’s two now. So, are you ready to try again?”

The Trio is Back - AUgust Day 7
Title: The Trio is Back
Author: Purple_ducky00
Rating: Teen
Warnings: N/A
Relationships: Bucky/Nat/Tony, Bucky/Tony
Square Filled:  N2: Didn’t Know They Were Dating Link: Read on AO3
Summary:  Natasha, Bucky, and Tony have been friends since childhood. Everyone speculates that Natasha will have to choose between the two of them. Little do they know she might just choose both.
+++++++++
Tony, Bucky, and Natasha have been friends since toddlers. The Starks, the Barneses, and Natasha’s adoptive parents were a close-knit bunch who played bridge on Thursday nights, usually at the Stark mansion.
As children, the three would run through the house playing superheroes, Super Mario characters, jedi, etc. The Stark butler, Jarvis, always made sure nothing valuable was broken. They would often rope him into their play. As they got older, they calmed down somewhat. Natasha taught Tony to braid so he could braid her and Bucky’s hair.  Both would push him to get more intricate braids. Bucky would recommend books for the others to read, and they had a book club group chat where they would discuss plots and theories. Tony lets them in his lab and teaches them about science.
When the three turned ten, the adults would joke that Natasha might have a hard time choosing between the two handsome boys. Natasha’s fathers said she should be able to do whatever she wanted. Natasha never paid them any mind because Tony and Bucky were her friends. Why did she need to choose?
The three were inseparable until middle school. They never had a falling out, per se. They just stopped hanging out. Maybe they were tired of everyone trying to figure out who liked who, or maybe they just wanted more friends. No one actually knows. Tony became close with his lab partner James Rhodes, who he dubbed Rhodey. He also roped Virginia Potts into his trio as well. She became known as Pepper almost overnight. Natasha basically adopted the “school nerd” Bruce Banner and Carol Danvers, the girl most of the guys hated because she was “too feminist.” Carol, an avid lesbian even at a young age, didn’t care. Boys were a waste of time to her. Bucky was fast friends with Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and Sharon Carter.  Every once in a while, all ten of them would hang out, but it seemed like the legendary trio was over.
As they reach puberty, the comments about them increase. Instead of being smelly boys, Tony and Bucky both grow into handsome young men. Both realize as they grow older that they were kind of into boys and girls. Sure, Natasha is beautiful, Bucky thinks, but so is Sam. He doesn’t know how Tony feels about Nat, and since one of them was “destined” to get her, he decides he will step back and let Tony ask her out. He takes Sam on a date, and they are steady for a couple of months. They split on good terms at the end.
Tony has the same line of thought, and he dates Tiberius Stone for a while. Both Bucky and Natasha hate him, but Tony doesn’t know why. Ty is cultured and handsome, a real catch. So, what if he verbally abuses him and guilt-trips him? That’s the way his father always treats him. Isn’t it normal?
Natasha doesn’t date. She doesn’t care to. If people want to speculate, she doesn’t care. She’s only sixteen, why does it matter if she doesn’t have a partner? Her fathers tell her to take her time, and if she never wants to date, that’s her say.
When they graduate, Tony goes to MIT. Natasha gets in at Stanford, and Bucky’s parents can only afford for him to go to NYU. Tony offers to pay for a better college, but Bucky won’t let him. They keep in contact and see each other every break. Tony finally breaks up with Ty in his freshman year, but he becomes a party animal. Rhodey does his best to keep Tony out of trouble, but even he fails sometimes. When he graduates summa cum laude, he takes his place at Stark Industries. Natasha studies to become a lawyer, and she passes the bar easily. Bucky graduates NYU and saves up enough to buy his own auto repair shop. All are successful and don’t have much time to spend with each other or anyone else, to be fair.
 ++++++
Jan, Tony’s stylist, sets him up on a blind date with a Jimmy because he “works too much.” He shows up at the restaurant she picks out to only find Bucky sitting at the table to which the maître d leads him. “Bucky?”
“Tony? What are you doing here?” Bucky stands.
“I’m as confused as you are.” Tony sits at the table. “Jan told me I’d be meeting a Jimmy. Who the hell calls you Jimmy?”
“Well, she called you Anthony. I can’t believe you let anyone call you Anthony.”
Tony shoots him a glare. “I don’t. Not sure why she told you that you’d be meeting an Anthony… unless she did this on purpose.”
“What? The parents figure that if Nat doesn’t want to date either of us, they might as well put us together?” Bucky’s eyes snap.
“I don’t know.” Tony shrugs. “But it all seems very suspicious, you know? What do you propose we do about it?”
“I think we should eat dinner and go have fun. We both go home to our own houses afterwards and never try to date again, just to screw ‘em.” Bucky smiles sharply.
 “I like that. Deal.”
Tony wakes up in Bucky’s bed the next day. “Well, I guess that plan didn’t work out.”
“Yea… I’m torn up between kicking you out now just to fuck our parents or actually fucking you again,” Bucky comments. “Damn, Tones, you’re amazing.”
Tony colors. “Yea, I had a lot of experience in college. People still like to say they spent the night with me even though I haven’t slept with someone else for months now. I’ve just been busy.”
“Same. Who has time to date anymore?” Bucky shakes his head. “It’s a shame because I would love to have nights like last night more often.” He straightens completely and raises a finger. “I have an idea, and you may not like it, but here me out. What if we were each other’s booty calls? Just whenever we need a quick smash, we text the other?”
“James Buchanan Barnes, you are a fucking genius. I would kiss you right now, except my PA’s probably calling my dead phone, wondering where the hell I am. Can we rain check the next session?” Tony hops out of bed, pulling on his pants. Once quickly dressed, he heads to the door to leave and blows Bucky a kiss on his way out.
Using his watch to ping his driver, Tony heads home to get changed before going to work an hour late. Howard doesn’t berate him as much for being late for work, so Tony wonders if he knew something about his date with Bucky. The thought leaves his mind as he gets started on his day. He doesn’t have time to think about dates or meddling parents.
As the months go by, both Tony and Bucky text in claims to their booty call agreement. Tony is happy to do so, but he finds himself catching feelings for Bucky. He wonders if it’s because Bucky is the only one that he’s in close contact with, which he mentions to Rhodey when they get lunch on Rhodey’s first day on leave.
“I mean, I don’t think it’s a good idea to be fucking the only person you have a steady friendship with.” Rhodey steals one of Tony’s fries.
Tony pouts. “Don’t be like that honeybear. You and Pepper are my friends, too.”
“Yea, but I’m in the Air Force more than 80% of the time, and Pepper works for you. It’s different.”
“You’re just jealous that you’re not getting any.” Tony decides.
Rhodey just smiles. “Says who?”  Tony begins to assault Rhodey for details, the topic of Bucky forgotten.
++++++
“Hey, Natasha’s moving back to New York, apparently.” Bucky informs Tony one morning. “My mom just texted me.”
Tony groans. “If this becomes another ‘Why don’t you date her?’ thing, I swear I’m going to move to Tahiti and not accept any long-distance calls. You’re welcome to come with if you’d like.”
“I think we should take her out to dinner one night when she gets settled, just to catch up.” Bucky muses. “Then our parents can’t be mad because we didn’t try.”
“Yea, I wonder how she’s been. We haven’t talked in so long.” Tony agrees. “I wonder if she got a partnership here or something. I hope so. That’d be good for her.”
“Nick and Phil will be glad to have her back. If only my parents were as supportive as they are. You should have seen my dad when I told them I was opening my own auto shop.” Bucky smiles that unhappy smile.
Tony laughs mirthlessly. “I’d be happy if my parents talked to me at all. But being that Howard’s always cranky anymore, I guess it’s best that he doesn’t.”
++++++ Natasha moves back less than a month later with a short, sandy haired man in tow. They move into an apartment on the Upper East side. Once she’s settled, she agrees to meet Bucky and Tony for dinner. About ten minutes in, she asks them, “How long have you two been together?”
“Did someone tell you that we’re together?” Tony demands. “Because they’re wrong. We’re simply booty calls to each other.”
She shakes her head. “No, you’re not. You might like to think that, but you’re in love with each other. No one told me; I can see it from here.”
The two men shift in their seats, not daring to look at the other. “So how have you been?” Bucky asks her.
“Busy. Jenn and I are setting up our own partnership. We’ve gotten a lot of cases lined up, and we need a secretary.  There’re two lawyers working pro bono mostly down in Hell’s Kitchen. We might add them to our firm and pick up their secretary as well. I saw them in court for the Punisher trials, and she seems to have her stuff in order.” She takes a sip of her drink. “Sorry for not keeping up with you guys. I barely even talk to Bruce and Carol.”
“Mom told me you brought a man home with you,” Bucky says. “She didn’t seem too happy about it. Are you two dating?”
“Clint? No, he’s just a friend. I’m too busy to date, honestly. I’ve tried a couple times in LA, but it turns out I’m very selective of those with which I choose to hang out. Most men are idiots, and I’m tragically straight. You see my problem, right?”
“We don’t feel your pain, but we understand,” Tony says. “Well, what we should do is make sure the three of us hang out at least once a month. If we want to bring our other friends, I don’t care, but I’ve sorely missed you, Nat. And Bucky, maybe we should spend more time together with our clothing on.”
“You say that now, but what about tonight when…” Bucky begins but stops when Natasha gives him her death glare. “Okay, that is still as frightening as ever. Is that how you win all your cases?”
“No. I’m skilled enough that I don’t need to use that.” Nat flips her hair. “But I’m glad it works on you.”
Tony stick out his tongue at Bucky. “She’d never kill me. Who would give her those amazing scalp massages?”
“Now that you’ve brought it up, I demand one once we leave the restaurant.”
Natasha goes home that night realizing that she missed out on a lot of Tony and Bucky’s lives. If she were being honest, and she is, she kind of relied on their parents’ hope that she would one day marry one of the two. She always acted the way she did because she was equally attracted to both of them, and she would never be able to choose. So, she moved away and let them get on with their lives. She never thought once that they would choose each other and leave her out. She tells this to Clint when she gets home.
“Talk to them. Maybe they’ll share.” Clint suggests before he falls asleep on the couch.
She rolls her eyes. “You have a room for a reason.” Natasha knows he’ll still be there when she gets up to go to work the next morning.
 ++++++
The trio meets up at least twice a month. Per Natasha’s goading, Bucky and Tony start to actually date. She’s happy for them but seeing them sometimes is bittersweet. She just wants to go back to the times where they didn’t have to worry about feelings. All feelings have done for her were made her sad.
One night, they’re eating takeout in Tony’s kitchen when he says, “You can kill me if we’re wrong, but I want to proposition something with you.”
Natasha raises an eyebrow. This ought to be interesting. Tony proceeds. “So, Bucky and I are very happy in our relationship, but it could use one more thing… you.”
 “Me?”
“Yea. We both really like you, and we kind of got the feeling that you like us, too. Are we wrong?” Bucky bites his lip worriedly.
“No, you’re not wrong. I really like both of you. I have since we were kids. I just never wanted to choose between the two of you. When you got together, I was happy for you. I never thought that you’d both want me as well.”
“Why wouldn’t we want you?” Tony asks. “We love you so much. Obviously, we’ll have to talk about how this is going to work. I hear communication is key to any good relationship. I should know.”
“Also, if we all date, that’s one way to make sure our parents don’t get exactly what they want. Instead of you choosing one of us, you chose both.”
Natasha grins. This is a fine arrangement indeed. “I would invite you back to my place, but Clint’s there. Would one of yours work?”
“It’d have to be Tony’s. I just moved in two weeks ago.” Bucky jabs his thumb at his boyfriend.
 ++++++
Natasha’s parents are overjoyed when they hear the news, Bucky’s parents don’t say anything, but Bucky knows they are a little wary of his relationship. Tony’s parents, on the other hand, are very vocal. Howard has a yelling fit, screaming at Tony until he loses his voice. Maria asks him why he vexes his father like that.
When Bucky and Nat try to comfort him, he shrugs them off, saying, “That’s the first real conversation I’ve had with either of my parents since I was a kid. Don’t worry; I always knew Howard would have a problem with it.”
“It still sucks,” Bucky tells him. “No matter what, you’ve got us.”
Tony knows he’s happy when both his partners cuddle around him in the middle of their California King bed. Throughout all odds, the trio is back together.

Business Partners and A Surprise - P.P
Summary: Tony and others in the team learn about one of your new ventures. Part three to the Ordained/Marriage series!
To clear up the timeline, this is like eight months after ‘Married?’ takes place. The reader is 21. Peter, Ned, Michelle, and Shuri are all 20. Harley is 19. Also, I do not know what goes into making a business, so I’m sorry if this is inaccurate lmaooooo
Warnings: cussing, pure bull shit, mentions of drinking, and strippers
Word Count: 2.3k
Tumblr media
"Pepper, we can't just let these people mooch off my name!" Tony argues as the couple walks down the hall of the tower and into the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen, they see you and Peter at the table eating with Michelle and Ned. In the kitchen as well are Sam, Bucky, Steve, and Nat.
"Who's mooching off our name?" you ask. Tony grumbles as he walks over to the counter opposite the entrance. From one of the cupboards, he grabs a mug and fills it with some coffee before downing some of it. Pepper frowns but decides it's better than something worst. Tony turns to see the expectant eyes on him, making him huff out once more.
"Some club in Midtown-" Tony says, but Pepper cuts him off quickly. "And I keep saying, Stark is not a copyrighted word. The name might be trademarked, but it's definitely not copyrighted," Pepper argues. Tony waves a dismissive hand as everyone shrugs.
"What club?" Steve asks as he refills his cup. Tony takes another sip before replying, "Stark Naked, something like that." The room goes quiet for a few seconds as you, Peter, Ned, and Michelle all look at each other through wide eyes. Suddenly, you're piping up.
"Oh," you say quite nonchalant. The kind of nonchalance that Tony knows he'll hear something shocking. He should be used to it by now. "We own that."
Once more the room is stunned into silence. Tony doesn't know exactly what the club is. He doesn't know if it's a night club, a bar, a strip club. He just knows that it's some type of club and it's been making lots of money. On top of that, it's been attracting attention towards Stark Industries, people have been assuming that SI has been dipping their toes in the nightlife scene. Which couldn't be further from the truth.
"What?"
"Yeah," you say as you approach the coffee maker, mug in hand. "We own that place, it's a night club with strippers."
Tony begins to shake his head and Pepper has to hold back a chuckle. What's next? You've adopted three children from Africa and Europe each? Have you had children behind his back? But now that the thought enter his mind-
"Do you and Peter have some children I don't know about?" Tony blurts. The question takes everyone by surprise. Like always, Sam and Bucky have to hold back their laughter.
"Oh god no! If we had children, everybody would know the minute I pissed on the stick!" you complain, your face contorting into one of disgust. Peter giggles from his spot next to you as you return back to your seat.
"Well, you keep fucking hitting me with all this random news. You were an ordained minister out of nowhere, you're married to Peter as well! Now you own a club with Peter-"
"And with Ned and I!" Michelle cuts in. Tony rolls his eyes.
"Anyways, you've done all this shit behind our backs, it's beginning to make me question what else I don't know about. Are you in a polygamous relationship with Michelle and Ned as well? Are Shuri and Harley part of it too? Actually, I don't want to know, an-"
"Ew! No, we're not in a polyamorous relationship, dad. Yeah Peter and Ned kiss each other here and there and Michelle sometimes sees me in my underwear, but it's all normal friend stuff," you explain. Tony shakes his head meanwhile Bucky and Steve look at each other as they shake their own heads. What kind of friend stuff are they talking about?
"I don't think all friends do that, Y/N," Sam responds.
"How did you guys even open a nightclub? How did you guys even get strippers for it? Are all of you guys even old enough to get into the very club you own?" Nat asks.
"We bought the building after somebody went out of business and the owners couldn't keep up with the expenses. So we had this empty building for three months, we'd bought it a month after dad and Pepper's two-year-anniversary," you begin to explain.
"So, we sat on it for three months, unsure of what to do when Michelle talked about wanting to be able to go to a gay club and wanting to be able to see some strippers. A lot of the strip clubs are not welcoming of people under 21 or aren't the cleanest places," Peter continues. Everybody seems to follow along, not seeing why to disagree.
"So, we began to make the plans on our club. We wanted to make an LGBTQ+ friendly club that could make people feel safe. Not just the customers but the workers too. We wanted it to be a fun place for any and everybody. We also wanted to give room for sex workers in the area, so we made sure to give jobs to people in the area who were more along the poverty line because we care about people," Michelle continues.
"So Y/N dipped into your lawyers and accountants as well as other business assets that could help us start out business and since Y/N is the oldest, the most experienced, and the richest of us all, we had her be the main shareholder. We built a plan with your team and they helped us put it all into fruition," Ned continues.
"So, they helped us get contractors, plumbers, electricians, and so much more. They got to build our dream place and once the furnishing was coming to an end, we held interviews in our shared office at the club and we hired some strippers, bartenders, DJs, and some security guards. So far, it operates as a normal nightclub, but we plan on doing some big events in the future," you finish, seeing everyone's impressed expressions. Pepper was the one who seemed the most impressed.
"But you're already 21, Y/N. You can drink and get into clubs," Tony says.
"I know, but Ned, Peter, Michelle, Shuri, and Harley are not. Especially not Harley. Our club is 18+, everyone gets carded, and there are 21+ only sections in the club. We keep our place clean and we also go every night for an hour to check up on it. We have a manager overseeing it all every night, so we got everything down."
Tony was stunned into a silence, so now he's just letting everybody else ask the questions. He just wants to know so much, but he's beyond impressed. His daughter definitely has it down much better than he did when he was her age. He couldn't be more proud. Sure, a lot of it was done because she fucked around too much, but in the end, it was all going visibly well. She's been married for almost three years to Peter, she's the heir to SI and now she's running a nightclub successfully with some of her best friends and her husband. She's doing so much better than Tony could ever ask for. It almost makes him want to cry.
"How long has the club been up and running?" Bucky asks.
"Three months, so it's still fairly new," Ned responds.
"And why doesn't anyone know who owns the place?" Steve asks as he looks up from his phone, most likely having done a bit of research of his own about the club.
"We wanted to remain anonymous for the first three months or so. On our 100th day, we plan on doing an event where we unveil the owners. We wanted to give our workers a purpose, a reason to stay and if we proved that all the success of the business comes from their hard work, then that would be proof enough that they are important," Michelle responds.
"Were we gonna be invited to this event?" Steve asks.
"Yeah, just we were gonna do it next week. The event is in two weeks," Peter responds.
"Why are we always finding out about this stuff so late?" Nat adds in.
You can't help but shrug. No one really ever asks you what you're doing, so there's no reason to tell them. Plus, you just kind of do things with as minimal thought as possible. That's not to say you don't think about it, because you do put at least some thought into the things you do. You just don't think everything through thoroughly, which seems to be working in your favor thus far.
"So what's it like to be the second Stark to have their spouse as their business partner? Or are you a Parker?" Sam asks, realizing nobody ever asked about the name change or if there was one.
"We took each other's names, so we hyphenated. Stark-Parker. But it feels cool because I get to say 'hey you don't talk to my husband like that, he also owns this company!' when people tell him things," you explain.
"It's still crazy, y'all have really been married for two years?" Steve asks.
Peter blushes when he looks over at you. After having come out about it to everyone, the two of you finally relished in the glory of it. You can now openly call him your husband and he calls you his wife. Sometimes he'll call you Mrs. Parker and sometimes you'll call him Mr. Stark, but then you'll switch to Mr. Stark-Parker because the former just makes you think about your dad and it kind of ruins the moment.
"Hey, it's fun being married. Peter makes it an adventure," you say, making Peter rest his head on your shoulder.
Tony couldn't be happier about it, actually. His biggest fear, when you got with Peter, was that you would end up heartbroken, but here you are, with who he thinks will the love of your life. He sees how Peter has nothing but respect and love for you. He praises the very ground you walk on and he treats you like his equal. He treats you how you deserve to, and Tony can't help but love the young man for that. He's never seen anyone more in love than the two of you, him and Pepper being a close competition. For some odd reason, two things finally dawn on him. One, and it’s only two years later, it finally hits him. Peter is his son-in-law. Peter is his fucking son-in-law. The wimpy kid he met 4, almost 5, years ago who now owns a strip club with his best friends is his son-in-law.
Also, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man owns a fucking strip club!
"Okay, can we just ask, no more surprises? If you get a child in any way, let us know before you physically have a child with you. If you make a big life move, will you promise to tell us ahead of time? One of us is gonna die from a heart attack because of this type of stuff!" Pepper chimes in. Through chuckles, you nod. It's the least you can do.
"Well, to celebrate, do you guys wanna go visit the club tonight? In preparation for the event?" you ask after everyone seems to calm down from all that was thrown at them. The first to excitedly agree is Sam, who claims he's so totally not in it for the booty. Next to chime in is Nat, who claims to be in it solely for the booty. Everyone begins to chime in not too long after and everyone seems so excited about it.
Later that night, you'd all showed up at the club at around 9 PM. You'd reserved one of the VIP lounges for yourselves, which was a room within the bigger room that fit at least twenty people in it. It included two stripper poles, a mini bar and one large table that connected to the stage for the strippers. Tony was impressed at how well thought out the place was. Michelle admitted that most of it was her and Shuri, but Ned and Harley played a part in it as well. You and Peter admitted to being more of the administrative leaders but helped with creative ideas as well, ultimately being the ones to approve it all in the end. Pepper was more than impressed as well.
"Hey," Tony begins once you shut the door to the office. It's a giant room with black and purple walls. There are plants and shelves everywhere. There's a giant couch along one of the walls where Tony takes a seat. He'd asked if he could talk to you in private, so you lead him to the office. "I just wanna say I'm proud of you kiddo," he says as he pulls you into a tight hug.
"For what?" your muffled voice asks.
"For all of this. Starting this place up, where all the workers are so genuine. For putting so much effort into not only creating and making your dreams come true but for your friends too. For finding someone who loves you as much as you love them, for being a role model not only to Peter but to your friends. For everything. You're doing so much better than I was at your age and I couldn't be prouder," he admits. You smile up at your father, wrapping your arms around him.
"I get it from you, father. I am my father's daughter," you joke. "I'm proud of you for dealing with my bullshit, from surprise marriages to surprise businesses. I have one more surprise, but as I promised Pepper, I'm gonna tell someone and it's gonna be you," you continue.
"Oh god, you're pregnant. I'm too youn-"
"No! I'm not pregnant. If I was I wouldn't have downed three consecutive shots like I did!" you tell him. You let out a shaky breath before pulling a key out of one of the books on the shelf. Tony watches as you use it to open the lock on one of the drawers on your desk. He watches as you nervously pull a small velvet box out of the drawer and open it to reveal a gold band with a big diamond encrusted into the ring, smaller ones woven around the band. Tony's eyes widen, it had to have been at least 100 grand. While Tony loves Pepper a lot, he only dropped a good ten thousand on the ring he got her.
"I'm thinking of proposing to Peter, properly."
If there's one thing natural born Starks are, it's being deep lovers. A little too much.
Please leave feedback and requests! Also, come send in asks or talk to me about anything!

Dogs RSPCA Broken Hill Veterinary Hospital Stage 2 The term “observational learning” encompasses several closely related concepts: allelomimetic behavior or mimicking where, for example, puppies follow or copy others of their kind; social facilitation where the presence of another dog causes an increase in the intensity of a behavior; and local enhancement which includes pieces of social facilitation, mimicking, and trial-and-error learning, but is different from true observational learning in that the dog actively participates in the behavior in the presence of the other dog and/or other environmental cues.[53] Four necessary conditions for observational learning are: attention, retention, motivation, and production. That is, the dog must pay attention to the dog or person performing the modelled behavior; retain the information gathered about the behavior during the observation; be motivated to reproduce the behavior in a time and place removed from the original; and finally, produce the behavior, or some reasonable facsimile thereof.[53]
