Three rocks ping off the panes of your bedroom window in quick succession.
You're applying your moisturiser in the mirror, winding down and almost ready for bed. Your reflection is illuminated by a faint glow from the fairy lights you've draped over the headboard for the festive season, warm and comforting. A soft, jazzy melody is drifting from the radio softly, a welcome noise to break up the silence.
Another rock hits your window.
You fly out of your seat and towards the source of the trouble, worried that he's going to throw one too hard one of these days.
"Steve," you hiss as you yank it open. "Cut it out. Just come through the door."
"Where's the fun in that?" he chuckles, eyes rife with mischief.
You roll your eyes but step back anyway, making room for him to climb the tree and dive through the window into your room.
"Hi, sugar."
"Hi, Steven."
He grins at you, bright and awake despite the late hour.
"Don't you have better plans on a Friday night, King Steve?"
"And miss out on seeing you in your little pink pyjamas? Absolutely not."
You shove at his chest, smacking him upside the head for good measure. He feigns pain and wraps his arms around your middle, picking you up off the ground and spinning you in circles. You shriek, and the sound makes him laugh.
"Okay, okay! I'm dizzy! Put me down!"
He obliges by throwing you unceremoniously onto your bed, smirking when you almost bounce off it.
"So," he begins, sitting down across from you. "How was it? Do you feel like a whole new woman?"
You scoff.
"What? That bad?"
"Yeah, that bad. We didn't even do it."
He quirks a brow in curiosity, tilting his head to look at you.
"I thought tonight was the big night?"
"Yeah, it was supposed to be. But he was kissing me, and it just didn't feel... right? He started grabbing at me and I realised that you can only lose your virginity once - and that definitely wasn't how I wanted to lose mine."
You shrug, trying to play indifference, but Steve can see the hurt in your eyes.
"You always deserved so much better than him."
"Thanks, Steve."
"Come on, Cherry. The guy is an asshole who happens to be attractive. His face is the only thing he's got going for him."
The mention of your childhood nickname has memories of fruit flavoured popsicles on summer days flooding back. Laughter by the pool, pushing Steve in and screeching when he dragged you with him, staying out in the sun until you were both exhausted. Cherry. You've always been Steve's Cherry, for as long as you can remember. You still wear the lip balm he bought you last year, fitting for your moniker.
"You didn't like him from the start. Actually, you've never liked any guy that has ever liked me."
"Because they're not good enough for you."
"Says who?"
"Says me."
"And you're the boss of me and my love life now?"
"I'm the person that knows you better than anyone in the entire world. I think I have a pretty good view on things."
You huff, but accept your defeat in knowing that he's right. No one knows you like him. Steve always does this. He pisses you off, but makes you love him a tiny bit more each time.
He grabs your foot from the bed, pressing his thumbs into your sole. You relax instantly, tired of half arguing with him.
"I give up."
"With what?"
"Dating. Fuck it."
He chuckles, rubbing soothing patterns into your ankle gently.
"You've barely even started."
"Ooo, sorry Mr Womaniser."
"Stop it," he chides, pinching your calf. "Maybe The One for you just isn't in Hawkins. This place has always been too small for us anyway."
"Yeah, maybe. It'll all change when we go to college, hopefully."
"Exactly. It'll be a whole different ball game. There'll be tonnes of hot guys begging for your attention."
"And you'll be fighting them off."
"Yes I will."
You laugh, poking him in the chest with your foot teasingly.
"And maybe the college guys will actually know what they're doing in bed."
"Hey, some of us do know!"
"Yeah yeah, Steve's good in bed. I've heard it all before."
"Don't be jealous, Cherry baby."
"Jealous isn't quite the word I'd use."
"No?"
He drops your foot and scoots closer, settling in between your parted legs.
"You're not even a little bit curious what all the rumours are about?"
"Steve," you laugh. "I think they're probably just exactly that. Rumours."
He inches in towards you, so his forehead is almost touching yours. Running his fingers up and down the outside of your thigh, he takes a deep breath in.
"You should let me show you just how much I know. We're not all clueless, Cherry. I'm confident I could make you feel good."
You exhale with a shudder.
"I'm not letting you take my virginity, Steve."
"I don't want to. There's a thousand ways I can make your legs shake without fucking you, baby."
You stare into his big doe eyes, admiring the way a single strand of hair has fallen across his forehead. You look for a shred of doubt, or amusement, but all you see is love. Admiration. Trust. Sincerity.
"Okay," you breathe, before your mind has truly processed what you're saying. "Show me what you got, Harrington."
He grins, slow and saccharine, like the cat who got the cream.
"Steve?" you whisper.
"Yeah?"
"This isn't going to fuck things up between us, is it?"
He smiles, big and bright.
"Never. Nothing is ever going to fuck things up between us. It's you and me forever, Cherry Pie."
You chuckle at the nickname, stroking his cheek with your thumb.
"Well, then what are you waiting for?"
He shakes his head and grabs your ankle, pulling you across the bed and into his body. Wrapping a hand around the back of your neck, he leans in, pressing his forehead to yours.
"If at any point this gets weird, or you don't like it... Just say the words, okay?"
"Okay," you breathe, inhaling the scent of mint from his tongue. "Promise."
"Can I kiss you?"
"You don't usually ask," you tease.
It's no secret that you and Steve have kissed a few times. Once after prom, once at a party here and there, once when you were cuddled in bed comforting him after a break up. But it's never led to anything more. Which is probably why this feels a little different.
"I know, but this is a little more... intense, than usual."
You try to ignore the way your heart swells at his consideration for you, and nod your head gently.
"Kiss me. Please."
Steve wastes no time, leaning in to press his lips to yours. He tastes like spearmint and soda, with a hint of the cherry lipbalm he steals from your nightstand. You instinctively shuffle closer to him, straddling his lap as his arms bracket themselves around you. It's like he can't decide where to put his hands - they're roaming up your back, squeezing your ass, kneading your thighs. He's antsy and impatient, eager to feel you.
"Lie back," he whispers against your mouth, tipping you onto the bed.
Your head hits your pillows and you crane your neck to watch him as he crawls down your body, eyes never leaving yours.
"Steve-"
"Stop thinking so hard, Cherry. I can practically hear your thoughts."
You huff but can't keep the smile off your face, willing your mind to stop racing.
"Let me quiet things down, hmm?"
Steve presses a gentle kiss to the inside of your knee, trailing up and up until he reaches your hip. He licks across your hipbone before nipping it with his teeth, smirking when you gasp.
Grasping the waistband of your pyjama shorts, he asks for permission with his eyes, no words needed. You nod and lift your hips, letting him slide them down your body.
You've never been so exposed, which is causing a sudden realisation that the two of you are crossing a line that can never be uncrossed. As if he can read your mind, Steve presses a kiss to the inside of your thigh, tender and full of love.
"Babe, if you want to stop..."
"I don't, I promise. I'm just nervous. I'm sorry."
"Don't apologise," he murmurs, resting his head on your thigh and looking up at you. "Never apologise. You're doing so good, Cherry. I love you."
You didn't know what you were expecting, but it wasn't I love you. You've both said it to each other a million times, but something about saying it in this exact moment makes it feel... weighted. You'll talk about it later. You'll make sure of it.
"I love you too. So much."
You're whispering, scared to ruin the peace you've created. Steve kisses your skin again gently, gazing at you like you've hung the stars just for him.
"Let me make you feel good, okay?"
When you nod, Steve nudges your core with his nose, arms wrapping around your thighs to keep you anchored in place.
"So pretty," he's mumbling. "Prettiest fuckin' girl I've ever seen."
He starts slow, easing you in carefully. Kitten licks and gentle nips, testing the waters. When you tangle a hand into his hair and tug, Steve gets the message.
"You want more, pretty baby?"
"Yes," you confirm, more breathless than intended. "Please."
He dives back in, this time with more intention. His nose keeps nudging your clit, the friction licking up your spine deliciously. It's like he can't get enough, eating you out like a man starved.
He groans into your heat, the vibrations making you whine. When he curls his tongue just right, you keen, the sounds leaving your mouth foreign to the both of you.
"Fuck, you sound so beautiful. You're perfect. God, you're perfect."
"Stevie," you pant. "So close."
"I got you. Atta girl, I got you. That's my girl, give it to me."
Maybe it's the my girl, or maybe it's the way he's slipped two fingers into you, but the coil snaps. Your back arches off the bed as white heat engulfs your body, vision going black for a moment. You can hear him talking you through it, loving and encouraging. Eventually, your grip on his hair loosens as you go lax, collapsing back against the comforter.
Steve grins at you as he licks his fingers clean, crawling up your body to kiss you. You groan when you taste yourself, arms wrapping around his shoulders to keep him close. Resting his head on your chest, you run your fingers through his hair, humming gently when he relaxes.
"You okay?"
"Never better," you laugh. "You're good with your mouth, Harrington. I'll give you that."
"Told you the rumours were true."
You shake your head and reach over, grabbing the glass of water from your nightstand and taking a sip. You offer it to Steve without a second thought, rolling your eyes when he downs the rest.
He plucks your cherry lipbalm from the drawer and applies it to himself, before leaning up to carefully do the same to you. He pecks your lips sweetly before returning it to its rightful place.
"You replace it, don't you?"
"Hmm?"
"The chapstick. I've had it for a whole year, and I've never even come close to reaching the end."
He blushes as he looks at you, suddenly bashful.
"It's special," he murmurs. "It's our thing, you know? And it smells good. I like knowing that I'm the only one who knows you taste like cherries."
You want to poke fun at him, say something to make him laugh. But you can't. He's rendered you speechless, for the second time in one night.
"I like knowing the reason you taste like spearmint is because I've been slipping pieces of gum into the pockets of your jeans for ten years."
"I knew it," he laughs, leaning up to kiss you firmly. "I can't tell you the last time I bought gum."
"You're welcome."
Steve shucks off his jeans and his shirt, climbing into your bed with just his boxers on. You slip your underwear up your legs before getting under the comforter with him, tangling your limbs with his.
The tunes from the radio still hum gently as the fairy lights flicker.
The room is unchanged.
The people in it are not.

You are so upset.
You couldn’t fall asleep on the plane. They only had snacks with nuts on them. The juice boxes were gone.
You just want to avoid everyone, specifically Steve.
He didn’t answer your letters for over two weeks, he stopped calling you every night to tell you all about his day and you… you were so upset you couldn’t enjoy the warm welcome your friends had prepared for you.
Life after the Starcourt incident wasn’t easy. Moving away from all the things, from all the people you love, it was destroying you. Jonathan found friends, Will and El do stuff without you all the time. You missed home, you missed your friends, your best friend.
The ride to Steve’s house is short, unfortunately. As Nancy gets out of the car to grab his boyfriend’s hand, Will, El, and Mike make sure to greet Dustin and Lucas at the door. Robin runs to you and hugs you, a warm big smile forms on your lips, she knows something is wrong from the moment your body stays still for a couple of seconds before hugging her back.
“You okay?” she asks, you can’t lie to her but you can’t rant about Steve and how upset you are because it would ruin everyone’s day. Half of the group came back all the way from California.
“I’m okay, Robs. Don’t worry” You take a step back, not dropping your hands from the sides of her arms and squeezing them. “You, young lady, you need to tell me all about Vickie”
She laughs, her cheeks light pink as the color of your skirt. You can’t stop a giggle from coming out of your lips, but as soon as you see him… your body goes stiff again and Robin rushes inside the house to get a drink before spilling everything about her crush.
But there he is. His gray almost blue polo shirt hugs his chest flawlessly. The last two buttons remain unbuttoned and the best friend chain you share with him shows up, resting on his hairy chest that moves up and down as he breathes. His hair, amazing as it is, has a life of itself and it’s beaming as well as his face. You are sure he is wearing the tightest jeans ever but you fight everything in yourself not to look down, as you fight with the same strength and keep your arms to yourself.
He whispers, "Hi" and locks his gaze on you, asking for a hug.
“Hey,” you say, not moving an inch and he finds it odd. Before you moved away you loved his hugs, his arms around you embracing you while your face rested on his chest, so close to his neck that your nose used to catch the scent of his cologne and a hint of cigarettes. Your hips will bump with his and- NO, STOP STOP.
“Are you okay? You look-”
He tries to speak with the same calm as always but it’s impossible. He feels something is different and he can’t wrap his head around it. You interrupt him, bumping your shoulder into his arm and running upstairs mumbling the dumbest excuse ever.
“I- I need to, uhm, go to the bathroom”
Steve doesn’t say anything. He figures you need some space or you are tired from the flight. He reunites with the others in the kitchen and gets introduced to Argyle who is talking to Eddie about something.
He watches you come back, you are holding your best friend's necklace with your fingers, you usually do that when you are nervous. Steve's eyes focus on you and you turn around, going straight to the living room where the others are. Panic settles over his chest and no one seems to notice.
Eddie is quick to hit his shoulder slightly with his palm and nods to the living room, telling Steve to join the others.
The living room is filled with voices and chuckles. You talk to everyone about your new school, your new house. Everyone pays attention to all the California Shenanigans.
Steve is focused on you, with a frown on his face and yes, you’ve noticed. It took you possibly five minutes to feel his confused gaze over you, but you decided to ignore it. You ignore him as he ignored you when you were away. You keep talking to Erica about her winning the campaign and Eddie joins the conversation making Steve… jealous.
“Guys! Guys. You all talk like you haven’t seen each other in ten years, I get it, but I still need to meet the rest of you!” A high Argyle speaks up, earning everyone’s attention “Can we just have a quick chat?”
“There is something we have to do outside, but you guys chat!” Dustin says as every single one of the kids follows him except Erica.
“Erica, let the grown-ups talk”
A choir of “boos” and “we are not that old” makes Lucas jump, he rolls his eyes and goes out joining his friends in the backyard.
“What? They are going to do a nerdy thing I'm not interested in” Erica replies, looking at everyone in the room.
“Erica, you play dragons and… what is it? castles?” Argyle says.
“Dungeons and dragons, man!” Eddie corrects him and hits him with his elbow. They quickly became friends and it’s hilarious to see them interact.
“You guys are soooo high,” you say. Eddie, who remains by your side, quickly bumps his knuckle softly against your chin, earning a giggle from you.
“What? Do you want a joint, sweetheart? He teases, and you roll your eyes.
“She’s not into that” Steve scoffs, peeking at the interaction that has his head hurting for quite a while now.
“What? She totally is. Bro, remember that time when you got so high you poured your milkshake on Jonathan and Ms. Byers thought he threw up on himself?” Argyle’s confession takes you by surprise, Jonathan laughs remembering and describing the incident to everyone.
The room fills with chuckles one more time. Steve feels a knot in his throat and you try to keep your face away from him.
“I had to tell my mom she tripped, it was a fun day actually,” the older Byers says.
“That reminds me, one time Steve had a date and I accidentally spilled my jar of fresh cherry jam on him. He spent the rest of the shift with his legs wrapped in a towel while his jeans were drying up!” Robin tells the funny story and that’s when you look at Steve.
Your mind starts wandering. He had a date, maybe he had a girlfriend already and that’s why he was so busy.
“Was that the same girl I saw you with at the movie theater?” Nancy asks.
“Nope, that was Heather and the other one was Heidi” Robin answers, Steve looks away from you, embarrassed.
Jealousy starts to get its way through your head. Your breath quickens and you start to get more furious.
“And what happened with Linda?” Nancy asks again.
“Can you guys just drop it?” Steve starts to get annoyed. “We just kissed, that is all”
“Fuck this” you mumble, the only one hearing you is Eddie.
“Woah, are you okay? Eddie notices your face, red with anger and your eyes glassy.
“Can everyone just stop asking if I’m fucking okay?”
Your voice shakes and you storm out of the room. The rest watches you go and Steve panics, but doesn’t move.
“Are you stupid?” Erica speaks, making Steve wake up as she is talking to him.
“What?”
“Oh please, you love that girl and you idiots had to mention all of his dates. She is clearly jealous, even I can see it”
“Erica!” Steve raises his voice but she doesn’t get upset.
“Just the facts! Don’t be a moron Steve”
And that’s what it took. An 11-year-old shit-talking to Steve for him to realize he had to fix this.
He gets up and before he opens the door, Robin grabs his hand stopping him.
“Don’t- don’t lie to her and do not try to push her away” She squeezes his hand before dropping it. “You’ve been miserable without her, don’t make another mistake"
Steve nods, opening the door, and walks to the street to find you, you are walking as quickly as possible but the cold rain slows you down as you hug yourself and walk.
Alone. Annoyed. Jealous. Furious.
“Y/n! Please come back”
An agitated voice makes your ears ring. It’s him, his voice was so recognizable that it was impossible to ignore it. You turn around, making an effort to not run toward him and cry for him, begging him to love you.
You’ve never cried over a boy because you’ve always been in love with your best friend, Steve.
“Please just listen” he begs, the rain starts to calm down as if the sky knows something is about to happen.
“What do you want?”
“I want to talk to you! You have been avoiding me all day and it’s making me crazy. I’m sorry you had to hear all of that” he slurs his words as he tries to ease his breath.
"Are you only apologizing for having dates?"
“No, no. I know ignoring you was wrong, I know trying to push you away was so shitty of me”
You keep your arms crossed against your chest. You keep shivering from the cold of the rain. Your clothes are all soaked and sticky.
“And?”
“And? I’m sorry, I'm sorry. But you didn’t have to act like such a jerk to me, not when I haven't seen you for so long. You know you can talk to me!”
“It’s all good, I wish you would talk to me too but it's too late. Bye now"
“Wait, wait”
“What do you want, Steve?” you shake your head. “Please, enlighten me. What is it? I want to go home. I want to get out of these clothes and curl up in my bed. Just leave me alone alright”
“You are unbelievable”
“What?”
“You know the phone works both ways right?”
“I didn’t need the phone. I sent you a bunch of letters you didn’t read. Sorry to bother you with all of that you couldn’t even open one”
“I read all of them. I'm sorry i didn't reply to them... but now I know you are hiding a lot of things. Tell me, was one of your letters going to mention you smoke weed and hang around god-knows-where while you are high?”
“Oh my god, Steve. That was one time” you sigh. You couldn’t believe he was telling you all of this as if you did something wrong “You were the one ignoring me, remember? Being too busy with girls you couldn’t pick up the phone, what were you doing, Steve?
“They were just dates, nothing happened! I would’ve told you if… I don’t know”
“Well, I had a date too,” you say. It’s not a lie, you did have a date with some guy named Dave, it didn’t go well because let’s be honest he wasn’t Steve. “And I would’ve told you too but it looked like you didn't care”
“You had a date? So you have a boyfriend now or what?” he asks, his fists clenching. His knuckles are white, and his face glows red.
“Why are you getting so upset about it?” you notice a shift in his voice, he looks too angry for some weird reason.
“You have a boyfriend”
“I don’t have a boyfriend. And if I had one, why do you care? You are the one going on hundreds of dates” A laugh comes out of your lips, but your heart is aching.
“Because the dates were a distraction! A distraction that didn't work because no one is... no one is as perfect and beautiful as you, and it kills me, you know?”
You get confused, he starts to get closer. Your tears start to mix with the drops of rain, your sight becomes blurry.
“I like you! Fuck, I love you!” he speaks, defeated and with a hand over his chest, right over his heart. “I have loved you since I met you, I’m sorry I was such a jerk for hiding it but I thought you deserved someone so much better than me and I didn’t-”
He gets cut off by your lips on his. It was everything he needed, he is everything you wanted. The kiss is short but it’s filled with all the pent-up emotions, all the years of waiting, all the lingering hugs and him “casually” always keeping a hand over you.
His lips are soft, he gets a taste of your strawberry chapstick and smiles over your bottom lip. You wrap your arms around his neck, pushing your bodies together.
“I like… I love you too, Steve” you say, his eyes focused on your lips as his hands rest on your waist. “I was hiding it too, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry we had to fight and, I-”
“It’s fine” he whispers, the drops of rain make his hair fall to his forehead, you are quick to brush it away from his face with your fingers, and he doesn’t mind.
“It’s not, we could’ve sorted this out sooner but I was scared– scared that if I told you, you were going to reject me”
“I thought you were going to reject me. Dreaming about you with me every night was better than thinking about losing you, so I was hiding it” he brushes his nose against yours. “But I don't have to hide it anymore. I love you. You love me. God, please tell me you are not joking”
“I’m not joking, Stevie. I love you”
His favorite nickname makes an appearance, he smiles as it’s been a long time since he hasn't heard it.
 “I love you too, baby”
The new pet name makes your heart flutter and he wants to kiss you again, but the rain doesn’t seem to stop and you are both shivering.
“Let’s get in before you catch a cold,” he says, taking your hand and intertwining his fingers with yours. You walk with him back to his house, your body immediately feels calmer as you get closer to him and hug him.
“I missed you”
“I missed you too, don’t you dare think i’m letting you leave my house today”
“Wasn’t planning on it”
He grins, you giggle. The girl of his dreams is finally with him, nothing could ruin his mood since that day.

warnings: okayyyy very anxious reader, bottling up our emotions, cursing, kissing, fluff, dirty talk, oral (f receiving), unprotected p in v, some spit, an almost blowjob, i think thats it??? 18+ MDNI!!!!!
wc: 9.6k
So what if you watched your best friend that you’re madly in love with get off in front of you! So what if you helped him! It was fine. Perfectly fine, right?
Wrong.
Your head was a mess, everything all jumbled up and you didn’t know how to sort through any of this. It had been three days since it happened and you’d been as normal as possible with Steve, answering his phone calls and eating with him on his lunch break. Everything was fine as far as he was concerned. It wasn’t until you climbed into your bed at night that your head started to spin, and not in a good way, your palms sweating and your chest feeling heavy.
Confused. You were so beyond confused and frustrated with yourself over this whole situation. Confused because it had been one of the best experiences of your life and now your brain was picking it apart piece by piece and making your stomach turn and your head pound. Steve had said all the right things, all the things you’d wanted to hear for years, but you also had your hand on his cock so how much of that did he actually mean! Did he even remember it, want to remember it? What if he never wanted to do it again or even worse wanted to pretend like it didn’t happen?
And frustrated. So fucking frustrated with yourself because these cruel, mean thoughts were based off nothing besides your own worries! They had no merit, but that did little to soothe the ache in your chest when you thought about your friendship with Steve.
The rational part of your brain, what was left of it at least, knew that if you just talked to Steve that this could all be cleared up. He would listen to you ramble and maybe he had a good enough handle on his emotions that he could give you some clarity. You knew this. You knew Steve would never be cruel or malicious with you, especially about something like this. And a part of you even knew that despite how well you thought you had hid it, Steve probably knew just how much this, how much he really meant to you.
But the much bigger part of your brain, the irrational part, held so much worry and fear about this potential conversation with Steve that you’d kept your mouth shut for the last 3 days. What if he regretted it? What if he didn’t mean anything he said and you were just there at the right time? What if this makes things weird and you lose your best friend? What if he just feels sorry for you? Does he know how you feel and decided to give you some attention out of…pity?
Your palms had little crescent shapes in them from where you had dug your fingernails, trying to ground yourself and failing miserably. Maybe this wasn’t a big deal. Maybe you were being dramatic and blowing this way out of proportion. Maybe Steve felt the same. But did you want to risk that? Could you? Because all you really knew at the end of the day was that you loved him. You loved him more than you ever thought possible, so much your heart felt like it could burst when he smiles at you or laughs a little too hard at something that’s not even funny.
So you kept your mouth shut and tried to be as normal as possible. You kept that fake smile on your face and prayed that nobody noticed, or kept it to themselves if they did. You let Steve tug on your hair and loop his pinky with yours as if it didn’t break your heart a little more each time he did it.
Any piece of him would be enough for you, it was better than not having any of him at all.
                     ***************************
Steve could tell that something was up. He’d expected you to avoid him after that night and was pleasantly surprised when you answered his call on the second ring the next morning, smiling to himself and trying not to bounce on his heels like an overexcited puppy.
But then he’d seen you in person. You’d come to Family Video on your day off to eat lunch with him on his break, giving him a quick once over when you first walked in but besides that…nothing. Maybe you were feeling a little shy, he could understand that. He saw the small smile you gave him when he pulled out two pb&j’s, one for him and one for you and it made his heart soar. He liked doing things for you, loved making you happy.
He thinks he’d give you the moon if he could.
Everything seemed normal so far, you were a little more quiet than usual but considering the circumstances he wasn’t too surprised by that. It’s when you’re sitting down with him in the break room that he notices. You’re talking now, laughing at his stupid jokes and teasing him like always, but it’s different.
You’re here but you’re not. You’re not looking at him, you’re looking around him. You’re giving him smiles and giggles but they’re not yours. This is even worse than what he imagined because you’re trying to act normal. He can practically see your head spinning, thoughts going crazy behind your eyes and it kills him. It hurts because you’re keeping this from him. You’re hiding from him.
If he’s being honest with you and himself, he’s been freaking out about this so he knows you’ve been too. But he thought you were good enough friends that it wouldn't have been weird to talk about it. He thought he made you feel safe and comfortable enough to confide in him.
But maybe he hadn’t. Maybe he needed to try harder to make sure you knew that he was there for you. Always. That he’d do anything to make you feel safe. That you could come to him with anything and he’d listen without judgment. That he loved you.
“Do you wanna talk about it, honey?” He bit the bullet, hoping this didn’t blow up his face and praying to god you didn’t want to forget it had ever happened, he knew he sure as hell wouldn’t.
“Oh..no-we don’t have to, I mean we can if you want but I’m fine. I mean, it’s fine, right? We’re good.” He knew he’d lost you, your eyes dropping to the floor to stare as your foot tapped nervously on the tile.
“Later, then. We can talk about it when you’re ready, yeah?” The fucking Family Video break room wasn’t the place to have this conversation anyways but he couldn’t stand to see you pretending around him, acting like you were okay when you weren’t.
He hated to see you pretending but he hated even more that he couldn't lean across this tiny table and kiss you. God he wanted to taste you again, to watch how your pretty pink lips got all swollen and slick and to feel how your hands tugged mercilessly on his curls while you dragged him closer to you.
But he could be patient. He’d wait for you forever if that's what it took.
                   ********************************
A party was the last place you wanted to be tonight, but when Steve had called you and practically begged for you to come, you found yourself agreeing before you knew what you were doing. As if you’d ever be able to say no to him. You did manage to tell him you’d meet him there, needing to give yourself some time to get your head on straight and pretend to be put together.
You’re not even sure whose house this is, you didn’t recognize the address when it was given to you over the phone and standing on the front porch now in front of an open door with people and music pouring out of it, you think you’ve made a huge mistake.
Despite the nagging feeling in your gut telling you to turn around and run back home, you think of Steve and you just don’t have the heart to not show up. Pushing through the crowd of people proves harder than expected, a grunt escaping when you catch an elbow or hip that almost knocks you over. You keep pushing and pushing until finally you’ve made it through and you’re face to face with Robin, a smile breaking out over her face before she’s rushing forward to pull you into a hug.
She’s drunk, you can tell and she confirms as much when she pulls back and looks around to make sure no one is listening like she’s got some big secret. “Thank god you’re here! I don’t think I could take another second of Steve’s whining. We’re both three sips away from blackout drunk because I made it a game between the two of us.” She’s talking so fast and bobbing her head along that you can barely make out what she’s saying. But before you can ask her to clarify, she is.
“Yep. Told him that everytime he mentioned you or asked about you we’d both have to take a drink. Bad game idea now that I think about it, tomorrow is gonna suck but it was worth it. He’s awfully quiet when he’s not blabbing about you. Jesus Christ I don’t even want to think about how many times I’ve heard the word bunny in the last hour and a half.”
Your heart is thudding dangerously fast in your chest, a blush working its way up your cheeks and you think if you’d fall to the ground if it wasn’t for Robin still clinging onto you.
Before you can even begin to dissect her words you’re pushed forward, a curse falling past your lips as you grip Robin’s arm hard enough to make her wince and curse at the person behind you. It doesn’t take long before you figure out who it is though.
“There she is, there’s m’girl.” He’s right there behind you, arms wrapped around your waist and head tucked into the crook of your neck. You can feel his fingers digging into your tummy and his hair tickling your cheek as he nuzzles closer to you. His deep, gravelly voice sends a shiver down your spine and you can’t help but to relax into him, eyes fluttering closed as his words wash over you.
He’s drunk, beyond drunk, and you know that but it doesn’t mean your thighs don’t clench at the quick, wet open mouthed kisses he’s leaving on the side of your neck before you can manage to pull away and turn around to get a good look at him.
Turning around was a bad idea. Oh my god it was such a bad idea. Because when you do you’re faced with the sexiest, most devastatingly hot version of Steve you’ve ever seen in your life.
Holy fuck. You’re fucked. So fucked.
He has on a button up that hugs his arms so nicely you could cry, the first few buttons undone and showing off a patch of chest hair you didn’t know he had but is now making your eyes widen and fuck there goes another pair of panties. There’s a sheen of sweat over his neck and chest where he’s been dancing and his eyes are dark, pupils blown and almost crazed looking as he takes you in. Those lips you’ve dreamed about for weeks are parted just so, his tongue quickly swiping across his bottom lip and you’ve never seen anyone so perfect. Your hands are clenched at your sides as you drink him in, his hair a mess like he’s run his hands through it a million times tonight and his forehead and neck are slick with sweat too. Goddamn it. Goddamn this party and goddamn Steve Harrington for looking like that.
You’re so caught up in Steve that you forget Robin is there, hell you’ve forgotten you’re at a party filled with people at all, but you can’t bring yourself to care. Not when he’s looking like that or when he’s looking at you like that. Not when his hands are still on you and he’s giving you a smirk that would have any person dropping to their knees.
Before you do anything too embarrassing you turn back to Robin who is now looking at you both like you’ve got 4 heads. “Rob, how are you getting home? I can walk you but I think you’ve both had enough fun tonight.” You ignore Steve’s whine from behind you, stomping his foot like a toddler at the prospect of having to leave.
“Oh! Don’t worry about me, Nance is coming to pick me up. I just knew Harrington wouldn’t be concerned with anyone but you tonight so I called in for backup.”
Looking back over your shoulder you see Steve with a shy smile as he gives you both a small shrug as to say “yeah and what about it”. Robin flies off before you can say anything else, assuming she’s seen Nancy or someone else she knows you turn back to Steve and take his hand in yours getting ready to tug him out the door when he stops you.
“But you just got here, didn’t even get to have any fun with you, bunny.” He’s wearing an adorable little pout that makes you smile and you’re sure he won’t remember this tomorrow so you reach up to push his hair back, patting his cheek on your way.
“You’re drunk, Steve. Like drunk drunk. I need to get you home and in bed, okay? We can do something tomorrow, promise, but I think you’ve had enough fun for tonight.”
“Oh we’re going to bed? I can get behind that.”
“You are going to your bed and I am going to my own bed tonight, Harrington.” You pinch his side to scold him but he doesn’t care, trying to come off as innocent as possible even though he’s got you reeling right now.
If there’s one thing Steve knows how to be, it’s dramatic. “Ugh fine! But I am not leaving until you dance with me. Just one, baby, please?”
“One, Harrington!” You huffed, pretending to be annoyed as he dragged you further into the crowd of people. You were too focused on him and the feel of his skin on yours to even pay attention to what song was booming around you.
His hands were on your hips, yours wrapped around his neck as you swayed back and forth. You were almost positive this was not a slow song but you didn’t care. Everyone was practically dry humping around you, but when he flashed you that ‘King Steve’ smirk you couldn’t help but to smile back, shaking your head at him.
He pulled you closer to him, leaning down to talk to you over the loud music and chatter from the people pressed in on every side of you.
“So pretty, you know that?”
“You’re drunk, Steve.”
He scoffed, acting like that offended him. “And? That doesn’t make it any less true.”
Rolling your eyes you just shook your head, trying to look at anywhere else but him. It was hard acting like his words didn’t make your heart skip a beat, but he was drunk and now was not the time to dive into this.
Gripping your chin between his fingers, your eyes were brought to his. “M’serious. Don’t roll your eyes at me like it’s silly. You’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.”
Words stuck in your throat you didn’t know what to do besides look at him and why the fuck did it feel like you were about to cry. All you could do was nod, pulling back to create some sort of space between you two. You needed to breathe, to think and you couldn’t do that pressed up against him.
“Your one dance is up! Let’s go, Harrington.”
Dragging him behind you was like trying to drag a toddler out of a candy store. He was pouting, dragging his feet behind you and making this as difficult as possible. “Don’t call me that.”
“Call you what? Your name?”
“Harrington. Don’t call me that, I don’t like it, like it when you call me Stevie.” You didn’t say anything, just kept walking. This was going to be the longest ten minute walk of your life. He took your silence as his cue to keep going, “I keep thinking about it—your hand on my cock, I mean. Can’t even tell you how many times I’ve got off to it in the last few days. And your lips, oh my god, your lips. Takin’ up all the space in my brain, pretty girl.”
“Steve!” You turned around and smacked at his chest. “We are not talking about this when you’re almost blackout drunk, alright? We’re taking you home. That’s it, you hear me?”
“Yes ma’am!” He saluted you, doing a poor job at keeping his amusement at bay. It’s quiet between the both of you for the rest of the walk, up until you’re at his door and fumbling for his keys that he’s dangling above your head like it’s a game.
“I’ll give you the keys if you promise to talk about this with me.”
“Sleep outside for all I care!”
“Oh cmon, please? Pretty please? You’re acting weird with me and I may be drunk but I’m aware enough to know I miss you, even if you’re right here.”
Alright so maybe you hadn’t done a good job of pretending to be normal. Or maybe Steve just knew you better than you thought, which was scary. You needed to rip the bandaid off. Push your fears aside and try and work this out so you don't feel so miserable and alone all the time.
“Tomorrow, okay? Go inside and get some sleep and I promise I’ll come over tomorrow and we’ll have a real conversation about this. I swear, Steve but we cannot do it while you're drunk off your ass.”
Your ass that looks amazing in these jeans, might I add.
He huffed like a petulant child, rolling his eyes and dropping his keys into your open palm and moved aside so you could finally open the door. Pushing the door open you shoved him in, making sure he didn’t fall and then stepping back onto the porch.
“I’m going, okay? Go drink a big glass of water and then go to bed. I’ll see tomorrow.”
He flashed you one of those lazy smiles that made you melt, giving you a little wink as he leaned against his doorframe. “G’night, bunny. Can I get a goodnight kiss?”
“Goodnight, Stevie.”
All you heard as you walked down his steps was his laughter and the door closing, porch light turning on so you could see. You waited on the sidewalk until you were sure he locked his door.
You were fucked, as per usual.
                *********************************
It’s an hour before you’re supposed to be at Steve’s and you feel like you’re gonna throw up. You’ve spent the whole day pacing around your room and picking up the phone every fifteen minutes to cancel on him.
But you can’t. You promised. And you’re cursing yourself for swearing anything to a drunk Steve, especially because he shouldn’t even remember it but of course he did! He called you bright and early, far too early for how drunk he had been, and reminded you about your “date” as he’d called it.
You’d thrown on one of his t-shirts because the smell of him surrounding you was the only thing keeping you sane right now. You didn’t have the energy to get dolled up for him, too nervous about tonight to even think about it.
You’ve gone back and forth about a million times on what to say and you’ve decided on the truth. You’d tell him you liked him as more than a friend, that you didn’t want to lose him but didn’t want to keep it from him anymore.
And you’d hope for the best.
God you were definitely gonna throw up. You’d cried probably five times today already, your hands had been shaky since you woke up, and you slept like shit. But you couldn’t keep going like this. Having little pieces of him was enough, at least you thought it was. But it wasn’t healthy and it wasn’t fair to either of you.
The clock ticking away was taunting you. You needed to leave now and for the first time today your feet didn’t want to move. Cmon, be a big girl.
                   ******************************
The walk to Steve’s was quiet but your mind was anything but. You were staring at his front door now like it would bite you if you got too close. He must have had a sixth sense, or he was watching from the window like a puppy because one second you're staring at his door and the next it’s thrown open and he’s there. He’s there and he’s beautiful and he’s glowing even though he should be glued to the bathroom floor from how much he drank.
“How ya feeling, Harrington?”
He tugged you in and closed the door behind you, that pout you’ve grown to love staring back at you. “Told you not to call me that, didn’t I? It’s Stevie to you.”
He tried to pull you into him but you slipped past, running into the living room and plopping down on the couch, hearing his footsteps follow after you quickly. He sat down on the opposite end and you must have been frowning at that because he was quick to speak up.
“I’m only sitting so far away because I actually want to have this conversation and if you’re too close to me I won’t be able to focus, honey. Don’t frown at me.”
Eyebrows raised, you stared at him. He’d always been blunt with you, openly flirty but sometime in the last few days a switch had flipped with him too. You always thought it was casual but now he’s saying things that make you feel like he might want this too, might want you.
“Oh, um, alright. That makes sense, I guess.”
It was quiet and you were quickly realizing you weren’t the only one that was nervous. His fingers were running along the stitching of the couch and your hands were twisting in your lap.
Fuck it, it was now or never. “I’m gonna start, if that’s okay?” He nodded at you and you cursed yourself for speaking up. But maybe if you just pushed it all out as quick as possible this would be quick and painless. Or maybe the ground beneath you would open up and swallow you whole.
“I’m gonna say this and then we can go from there. I like you. A lot. More than best friends like each other. I don’t think best friends give their friends handjobs either but we did that and anyways I like you. If you don’t feel the same way that’s fine, I’ll get over it. I just don’t want to lose you, ya know? I get it might be awkward at first and it might take time but you’re just so important to me. The most important person in my life. And you’re so good, so special I would just be really sad if I didn’t have you. But it wasn’t fair to me or to you to keep it from you so here I am. Saying lots of shit. But the point is I like you and I want you anyway you’ll have me.”
You were sucking in quick breaths by the time you finished, taking your quick and painless approach a little too far. You don’t think you actually took a breath during that little speech and that wasn’t doing anything to help with the lightheadedness you were already feeling.
He was dead still and quiet beside you and you couldn’t bring yourself to look at him. Okay…maybe you had completely misread this situation. The longer it took him to speak the worse you felt. Maybe you could make it to the door before he even noticed you were up? He seemed stunned. Maybe you could make it?
“Dont run.”
Could he read your fucking mind? What the hell was that? But you obeyed, still looking straight ahead and didn’t dare turn toward him. God this was horrible. There was a reason you kept your feelings all bottled up, because there was a chance it would go like this! You let them out and you feel even worse than you did before.
“I’m sorry I’m not saying anything but I’m a little pissed off and trying to find a way to say this that doesn’t come out mean,”
wait—what? Oh god. If you were lost before you were gone now. Pissed off? About what? “I’m pissed off because it sounds like you're writing this off as nothing before I’ve even been aware there was something there. And I’m pissed at myself because I’ve done a pretty shit job at showing my feelings for you. I thought it was obvious I was obsessed with you, but it seems you didn’t pick up on it and I’m pissed we wasted so much time tip toeing around each other when you could have even officially been my girl for a long time now.”
You didn’t even know where to start with that. Where to even begin unpacking what he had just thrown at you. A little part of you wasn’t totally shocked but you’d really just done such a good job at convincing yourself it was one-sided that you felt like you’d just gotten a bomb dropped on you.
“I…well I just thought you were that way with everyone.”
He looked at you like you were stupid, and maybe you were. Your brain was trying to catch up to what had just happened and was doing a shit job when he looked at you as if it was common sense that he felt that way.
“Have you ever heard me call anyone else baby, or sweetheart, or honey, or anything like that?”
“Well no, but—”
“Am I ever hanging all over anyone else? Trying to get their attention and be as close to them as possible? Tugging on anyone’s hair or holding their hands or making them cuddle me?”
“I mean not that I’ve been but Stevie—”
“You haven’t, because all that shit is reserved for you, baby. I only call you those names, mainly because I love to see your cheeks get all pink. I only touch you like that. Only want you on me. I get so fuckin’ jealous when you’re looking at anyone else. I tug on your hair like a toddler just so you’ll look at me or tease me or scold me. You get that? It’s only you. I’m sorry I didn’t make that clear enough but I fuckin’ swear. You’re my best friend but you’re so much more. You’re my girl, my bunny, aren’t you?”
One second you were feet away from him on the couch and the next you’re launching yourself across and into his lap so quickly he barely had time to wrap his arms around you before your lips were pressed against his. It was hot and messy and urgent as if one of you would disappear at any moment.
“M’sorry, Stevie. So sorry. It’s not you, it’s my brain. I just get so scared and I just care about you so much I just…I convinced myself you didn’t want me that way and I got so deep in those feelings I wouldn’t let myself see any different. And I didn’t bring it up, I hid it from you and I’m sorry. Oh my god, I’m sorry.”
You’re a mess in more ways than one, emotions all over the place and a million thoughts racing through your mind as you kiss him all over, desperate to be as close to him as humanly possible.
“Shh, shh, don’t be sorry, baby. Nothing to be sorry for. I get it, but now you know that you can talk to me about this stuff, right? We’ll work through it together and figure out the tough shit. I’m not going anywhere. You got me, okay? I’m all yours, always have been.”
Nodding against him was all you could do, too overwhelmed and wrapped up in everything him to think about anything else. He was so sweet, too sweet. He understood you, cared enough to make you feel seen and heard and god it might not the right time but you didn’t care, all you could think about was being with him, close to him, anything you could get.
He was yours now and you would not waste another second.
“Take me upstairs, please.” The words mumbled against his lips but he heard them loud and clear, his hand grabbing yours and dragging you behind him like a rag doll.
He’s barely got the door to his room closed when you’re pushing his back against it, dropping to your knees in front of him and fumbling your way through trying to undo his pants. You know you seem desperate but you are desperate. You’ve never wanted someone like you want him and you think that if you don't get your mouth on him in the next five seconds that the world might actually end.
He’s cursing above you, hands hovering like he doesn’t know where to put them before the land in his hair, head falling back against the door as he squeezes his eyes shut.
Somehow between your quick moving hands and some help from Steve you manage to unbutton his pants, wiggling them over his hips and whimpering at the way they catch on his thighs. Neither of you bother with getting them off, far too occupied with how he’s straining against his boxers. His hands move for them but before he can you’re leaning forward, kissing the outline of his cock through the material and the noise that leaves his mouth is enough to have you moaning against him.
Your knees are already feeling sore against the hardwood floor but you think if he keeps making noises like that you’d stay here for hours.
Chancing a look up at him while you place kisses up and down the length of him you’re met with his eyes instantly, a pained look on his face as he stares down at you. You leave one last kitten lick through his boxers before you pull back enough to really see him. “Are yo- are you okay? Is this not…am I not..I haven’t done this in awhile so I’m not sure if it’s any good, I’m sorry.”
He’s got you up to your feet so fast it makes you dizzy and he’s suddenly looking at you with a look so serious you’re scared you’ve fucked this up. All because you wanted his cock in your mouth damnit!
Before you can apologize again he’s gripping your arms, forcing you to look at him. “You are perfect, that was perfect and fuck I can’t even believe I’m actually turning down the chance to have your pretty mouth on me but I think if you did I’d cum instantly and that would be really embarrassing. So as much as I want it, and believe me baby I want it, I need this to last more than two seconds, alright?”
The initial sting of rejection is quickly replaced with a feeling of pure lust, a craving for him so strong that it makes you falter in front of him. You can’t help the small pout on your lips, you’d really wanted to taste him, to watch him fall apart above you!
“Don’t pout, honey. Y’can have my cock whenever you want. But right now all I’m worried about is making you feel good, okay?” He tugs your bottom lip with his thumb and you smile shyly, lips puckering against the tip of his finger and leaving a small kiss there that makes him smile fondly.
But then an idea sparks and you decide if you can’t taste his cock you want to taste some of him at least. You watch with satisfaction as his jaw goes slack, eyes widening when you part your lips around his thumb, taking it deeper into your mouth and showing him what he's missing by denying you what you really want. Both of you stand there quiet for a moment, you just barely bobbing your head on his thumb and moaning around it when he presses down lightly on your tongue. He’s cursing under his breath, pulling his thumb from your lips with a pop and dripping your chin that’s now slick with your own spit.
“Greedy girl. So needy for cock you’ll stand here and suck on my thumb. S’kinda desperate don’t ya think, baby?”
Under any other circumstance you think you’d be crying from embarrassment but even though his words are teasing, the way he’s looking at you is anything but. He’s got a mean mouth but his eyes are telling you how much he loves it, how lucky he is, how he’s just as desperate if not more.
“Just yours,” His brows are furrowed and a piece of hair falls over his forehead and you clarify quickly, feeling a little shy under his stare, “just your cock, Stevie.”
Realization dawns on him he feels a twitch in his boxers as he stares at you, lips messy with spit and eyes dark just like his. “Just for me, huh?” He can’t even make the adoration for you, a warm sensation running through his body as you nod at him with pink cheeks.
He doesn’t think there’s anyone as perfect as you and the fact that you’re standing here, telling him you need him—fuck how did he get this lucky? There must have been a glitch in the system, some sort of blip but he wasn’t complaining and wouldn’t question it with you hanging on him like you were.
Determined to show you that he was just as needy for you, wanted you just as badly he took your shoulders, gently pushing you until the back of your knees hit his bed. You fell back with a plop, moving yourself back when he nodded his head at you in encouragement.
Hungry didn’t even begin to describe how Steve was looking at you. He was staring you down as if he wanted to devour you, and you’d let him. No one had ever shown any interest in going down on you and it had become something you’d just kind of accepted you wouldn’t experience.
Steve was going to change that.
“Can I, baby?” His hands hovered over your shorts. You’d come over in these and one of his shirts, not caring enough to get dressed up when your goal was to get it all off as quickly as possible. “Need to see your pretty little cunt, bet she’s aching for me, yeah? But she’s all wet and needy and begging for my attention, isn’t she, bunny?”
Jesus Christ, he had a mouth on him. His words alone had you clenching around nothing, hips lifting as you nodded quickly so he could pull your shorts down. He left your panties on and you cursed, a wave of embarrassment flooding through you, mostly because you knew he’d see how wet you were, how wet you had been for weeks because of him.
Shorts thrown somewhere on the floor behind him your thighs closed quickly, head resting on your shoulder as you leaned up on your arms for support. You’d need all the support you could right now. But Steve wouldn’t have any of that. His tongue clicked, a reprimand for depriving him a look between your thighs when it’s all he’d been thinking about for months. He knocked your knees apart and if you weren’t so desperate to see his reaction your head would have fallen back on the bed.
You’d have thought it was Christmas morning the way he was grinning. Or as if he had just won the lottery! And to him, he had.
“Messy messy girl. Poor thing, I’ll have to fix this, yeah?”
It was all you could do to nod at him and it was only seconds later that he dove in, taking one long, slow lick up the front of your panties, pressing a gentle kiss where your clit was that had you falling back and throwing your arm over your eyes. He was gonna be the death of you.
Apparently that one little taste was enough to dissolve whatever will power he had left because in the next ten seconds your hips were lifted and panties were practically torn down your legs. He took no time at all getting himself back between  your thighs, hands on either one holding them apart so he could bury his face there.
If it didn’t feel so good you’d be pissed that this was what you’d been missing out on, but when Steve was sucking your clit into his mouth with the right amount of pressure to have you seeing stars, or using his fingers to stretch you for his cock, you couldn’t have cared less about anything or anyone else.
You’d also never seen Steve so quiet. Well, he wasn’t exactly quiet, you could feel his muffled moans and pleas against you as you gripped his hair in your hands and pulled him closer, but he was more content than he’d ever been.
You’re not sure how you manage any thoughts, let alone words right now when he’s making you feel so good and you can feel that burn in your tummy that tells you you’re close, but you still find it in you to tease him.
“Can’t believe this was all it took to shut you up, should’ve done this ages ago.” It doesn’t come out as clean and quick as you wanted, it takes about 30 seconds to manage the words. But you’re proud of yourself for teasing him but immediately regret it when he pulls away, a whine leaving your throat as you try and tug him back.
“Y’sure you wanna be mean to me when it’s my mouth you’re grinding against?”
His words ooze with confidence and you know it’s well earned because he’s got you in the palm of his hand. You take the opportunity to get a good look at him, eyes almost black and hair all messy from where you’ve pulled and tugged for the last 15 minutes. He’s wearing his signature smirk and you gasp at his swollen lips and chin that’s quite literally dripping wet with you.
“M’sorry, sorry. Please keep going, I was so close.” He doesn’t make you beg, even though at this point you’d get on your hands and knees if he asked. He goes right back to work, picking up the same pace and you know it won’t take long before that burn in your belly engulfs you completely.
He takes instructions well, groaning his acceptance when you tug him back to your clit, nodding his head in understanding. “Gonna cum, gonna cum, you’re gonna make me cum, Stevie,” You’re babbling now, hoping he can make out some of your words as you move your hips faster and harsher against him, chasing your own release.
You can’t hear what he’s saying but can feel his mouth moving against you. He never truly shuts up. And you don’t know it but he’s begging for you to cum. It sends you over the edge anyways, thighs closing around his head tightly as you gasp and your body locks up. It’s too much and not enough, you’re buzzing from head to toe and then you feel him helping you through it, small little licks to your clit, his hands rubbing at your trembling thighs as you try and catch your breath.
“Fuck” Steve might have said it, or it might have been you, you’re not sure. Chest heaving you can’t do anything but stare at the ceiling above you, trying to get your heart to slow down so you can make sense again.
All of a sudden your line of sight is cut off by a mop of brown hair and two sparking eyes hovering over you, a smile so big you’re sure his cheeks must hurt. “Best meal of my life, baby.” His chin is still wet and you move your hand up to collect some on your thumb, sticking it in your mouth with a hum and he doesn’t waste any time before he’s diving down to press his lips against yours. Tasting yourself on his lips makes you moan and it’s then you feel his cock against your stomach, hot and slick and begging for attention.
Pulling away you look down between you and see that sometime between getting you on the bed and making you cum he’s taken his boxers off. When you look back up to him he smiles sheepishly,
“Sorry they were diggin’ into me and I was about to go crazy. But I can…I can put em back on. Don’t want you to feel like we have to do anything else, I’ll happily go back between your thighs and spend the rest of my life there, if you’ll let me.”
Grabbing the back of his neck you pull him down until your foreheads are pressed together, shaking your head at him like he’s crazy. “Stevie, not to be too forward but I refuse to leave this room without you fucking me.”
He laughs. It’s loud and it makes you giggle and your noses are bumping against one another and he’s pressing kisses to your cheeks and the corner of your mouth and he’s backing up just enough to get a good look at you, “Thank fucking god.”
Steve was big. Not that you were complaining but damn you were a little worried about how that was going to fit inside of you. A little part of you was worried about him fitting but a bigger part of you just really wanted this to be good, for both of you. It was cliche but you wanted fireworks and passion and to feel him for days after.
You weren’t a virgin, you’d been with a few guys over the years and sex for you had always just been…okay. Yeah, sometimes it was good, but it was never how you’d read in books or heard on tv shows and movies. Steve didn’t know it but he had just given you your first orgasm by sometime other than yourself! It had never been the mind blowing, toe curling experience you thought it would, but if anyone was going to break the standard, it was Steve Harrington.
He must’ve seen the worry on your face, moving to lay beside you with his hand rubbing comforting circles on your hip. “You sure you wanna do this, sweetheart? Say the word and we can watch a movie or get late night pizza, whatever you want.”
“Can this be one of those times where I say a bunch of shit and you don’t judge me or laugh? Just listen to me.” He nodded at you, all hints of teasing and playfulness gone. You’re sweet Stevie.
“Ok, so, right okay—so I’ve had sex before and it’s been alright but I don’t want alright with you. I want hot and sweaty amazing sex that I’m gonna think about for the rest of my life, ya know? And I don’t doubt that you can deliver, trust me I’m sure you can,” you lean towards him as if you’re not the only ones in the room—the house, and whisper like it’s a secret, “you’ve seen your dick, right? That thing is massive and you seem like you know how to use it!” You sit back up then, only a little embarrassed at your rambling before you continue, “so I guess I’m more worried than I won’t be able to deliver and I just really like you and want this to be good for you and I think I’d never recover if you didn’t have a good time and—”
He stops you with a hand over your mouth, eyes wide and a small smile playing on his lips as he stares at you. “Take a breath, baby. Now.”
Your mouth drops open as soon as he removes his hands, your mind going black at the tone of his voice, so stern and deep. But you do as he says, taking a deep breath and holding it for a few seconds before letting it out slowly, looking to him for confirmation that you’ve done something right.
“Good girl, there ya go. Now, I didn’t want to cut you off but you were gonna run out of air if I didn’t. It’s my turn to talk now and you’re gonna listen, right?” You can’t help but just nod at him, your mind trying to catch up to your body as his words sink in and wash over you.
He rubs his thumb against your cheek to soothe you and it does the trick, your pulse calming down enough that you can breathe again.
“You do remember about half an hour ago when I stopped you from putting this pretty mouth on my cock because I would’ve cum in seconds, right? Because I’m sorry that I haven’t made it clear to you that this is already the best experience I’ve ever had. Fuck, baby, having your hand on me a few days ago was the highlight of my year. Eating your sweet little pussy is gonna get me off for the rest of my life. This is only good for me because it’s you. You hear me? You don’t need to be nervous or worried about me enjoying this, I swear to you I’m havin’ the time of my life.”
You don’t realize you’re crying until he’s wiping away your tears with his thumb, cooing at you and making your heart thump so hard you can feel it in your toes.
“I love you, ya know.”
This time it’s his turn to be stunned into silence but it only lasts a few seconds before he’s kissing you, or he’s trying his best, it’s hard to kiss when he’s smiling so big against your mouth. “Oh I know, and I love you too, more than anything.”
You feel like a teenager, giggling and peppering kisses all over his cheeks, so in love and just so breathtakingly happy it’s almost unbelievable. You feel silly now that you ever worried about anything, not even he’s so perfect and sweet and kind and yours. He’s worth every minute of panic and stress though.
Then he opens his mouth and you remember that you’re still embarrassingly wet and that he’s still throbbing against your hip.
“And don’t worry about my cock, bunny, we’ll make it fit.”
His thumbs slide under the band of his boxers and he looks to you, making sure it’s okay that he finally peels them off. When you nod he wastes no time in dragging them over his hips and down his legs until he’s kicking them off and onto the ground, both of you letting out a sigh of relief.
You thought Steve’s cock was pretty the first time you saw it but that’s nothing compared to now. He’s painfully hard, tip red and leaking, smearing precum where it lays twitching against his belly. You hold a little resentment toward him now for not letting you put your mouth on him. You think there might even be some drool on your lip as you look at him.
He’s watching you stare at his cock and trying not to cum on the spot, hands clutching his comforter do tight he might rip it. He has to move his eyes away from you so he can attempt to focus, too worked up to really make any sense right now.
“Honey how do you…what do you think would be better for you?” He wants this to be as painless for you as possible, only wants for you to feel good. He’d twist into a pretzel if he thought it would be better for you.
“I’ll uh, I’ll be on top. I think that’ll be best so I can um—I think that’ll be good for me.” He’s not totally sure that his eyes don’t cross at the thought of you riding him, he has to pinch the bridge of his nose hard just to right himself.
You urge him to scoot back so he’s laying down, head resting against the headboard, legs stretched out in front of him. You move yourself to straddle his thighs, worried that you won’t be able to think straight. In a flash of bravery you whip off his t-shirt and watch as his cock twitches and his mouth drops open. His hands immediately find your painfully hard nipples, tweaking them softly and watching as your stomach clenches when he does.
“Prettiest fuckin’ tits, swear to god. Jesus Christ you’re gorgeous, honey. All of ya, every inch.”
“Can’t wait anymore, Stevie, need you in me please.” The words are barely out of your mouth before he’s reaching towards his nightstand and you don’t know what comes over you but before you can stop it you reach out and grab his arm. Neither of you say anything, staring each other down and waiting for someone to speak, to move.
Fuck. You don’t know why you did that, obviously you should use protection. But…you’re on the pill and haven’t been with anyone in what? A year and a half? And the thought of feeling him…all of him—fuck you know it’s stupid but you can’t care about it right now when he’s so pretty and his cock is so pretty and you just want him.
He speaks before you muster the courage too, voice sounding strained, “Baby..are you saying…are you sure? It’s been awhile since I’ve been with anyone and m’clean I swear but—fuck are you sure?”
“M’sure if you are. Just wanna feel you, Steve.”
He could weep. He could fall to his knees and weep. Here you are, prettiest girl he’s ever seen and not only do you even want to have sex with him but you want to do it raw—fuck he wasn’t gonna last.
“Fuckin’ unreal, you are unreal.”
Instead of answering you took the opportunity to move forward and hover over his cock. Some of your confidence drained, all of this feeling much more real now that he was inches away from you. But you knew there was nothing to be scared of, this was Steve. Your Stevie. There was no one else you trusted like him and you knew he’d take care of you above anything else.
He took hold of himself, moving down a little so he could run his tip up and down your slit, coating his cock and hissing at the contact. Your grip on his shoulders stuttered when his tip bumped against your clit and you swear your whole body shuddered.
“Feels good doesn’t it, baby? I’ll just hold still and you go at your own pace, we’ve got all the time you need.” You lifted up a little, his tip nudging at your entrance and as you sank down your lips fell open into a silent moan. Your eyes were shut but you could feel Steve watching you and you could feel his grip on your hips tightening as you moved painfully slow.
“Doin’ so good baby, so so good.” You preened under his praises, body relaxing as you opened up for him. You knew it would be a stretch, but it was good. The burn of him filling you up turning you on even more, if that was possible. Being this close, this full of him made you feel light headed in the best way possible.
It took a few minutes but now you were fully seated, your hips pressed together as you dug your fingers into his shoulders, trying to keep your composure. It was overwhelming in the best way, your body on overdrive as you tried to accommodate all of him.
He looked like he was overwhelmed too, little puffs of air coming out of his nose and his eyes screwed shut. He was still, not moving and for a minute you were worried but when you moved on him, his eyes flew open and his hands grasped your hips tight.
“Wait, wait wait, baby—fuck. You gotta…I gotta…just don’t move. Please. Gimme a sec you feel too good, fuck.” You nodded, giggling a little and when you did you heard him gasp. Both of you could feel everything and it was so much.
You sat still for what felt like hours but could have only been a minute or two before he looked at you, nodding slightly and you took that as your sign to start moving. Lifting up about halfway you dropped your hips back down, gasping at the sensation of him filling you up so well and the little curses slipping out of him only spurred you on.
“Oh my god, Stevie. You’re so—I’m so full. So full of you I just..fuck.” You tilted your hips forward when you dropped down this time, his hip brushing against a spot inside of you that you didn’t know existed but lit you on fire. It made you go faster, sliding down hard and a moan so loud you should be embarrassed came out when your clit caught on the little patch of hair he had near the base.
Steve seemed to be out of his mind, mumbling praises and curses under his breath. He couldn’t decide where to look, all the options too good to miss. He could look at your pretty face, all flushed and glowing from the sweat you’d worked up. He could look at your tits, so perfect and pretty and bouncing right in front of his face. Or he could look at where you connected. He could watch his cock disappear into you over and over again but that combined with how good you felt meant this would be over very soon. And he wanted, no needed, for this to last forever.
As if his cock filling you up didn’t feel good enough, add in his filthy fucking mouth and his thumb he had rubbing quick, tight circles on your swollen clit and you were a goner.
“Such a pretty girl. You really are my little bunny, huh, bouncing on my cock like you were made to do it. You were, weren’t you? Made for me, baby.”
“Feels so good, honey. Snug little cunt feels like heaven.”
“Gonna make me cum, you know that? Gonna cum with my girl on my cock.”
It hit you out of nowhere, maybe it was him comparing you to a fucking bunny or maybe it was him calling you his girl. You’re not sure. All you know is one minute you’re there and the next your toes are curling and your face is buried in the crook of his neck, mouth open against his throat as you cum so hard your ears are ringing and you can’t feel or think about anything but him him him.
Steve Steve Steve
“Fuckin’ shit, baby. M’gonna cum, gonna cum. Where do you want it, bunny? Huh? Please please please—shit.” You can’t even move your arms, let alone the rest of your body but you can feel how you’re still clenched around him and you can feel how both of your thighs are soaked.
All you can manage is to lean up just a tad, lips brushing against the shell of his ear, “In me, want it in me, please Stevie.” And then he had one hand in your hair, holding you to him while his hips lifted and then stilled, groaning something obscene into your ear and if you weren’t so exhausted and overwhelmed that alone would have made you cum again.
You laid there on top of Steve, his arms now around your waist as he pressed small kisses to your shoulder. Your legs felt like jelly and you really think you could pass out right here with him still inside of you.
“Y’alright, baby? Still with me?” The words were tired and mumbled against your hair, both of you still kind of out of it but it was so good, you still felt so good.
“M’okay, Stevie. Not to make your big head any bigger but Jesus Christ I think you just fucked me within an inch of my life.” He chuckled against you, teeth scraping over where your neck met your shoulder and you shivered. “Well I think technically you fucked me within an inch of my life, sweetheart.”
Pulling back just enough to get a look at him, his eyes were closed with a calm, relaxed look on his face. He must have felt you looking because one eye cracked open, a smile on his lips as he looked at you.
“What is it? Something on my face?”
You shook your head and pressed a quick peck to his lips, threading your fingers into his hair and burrowing back into the crook of his neck.
“No, I’m just happy, just love you.”
“I love you most, pretty girl.”

“hi pretty girl.” steve slurs with a dopey smile, as you stumble over to him.
you giggle, letting him catch you as you pull him into the couch. “hi stevie..” you coo.
“where’ve you been?” he mumbles, shifting so he’s at your side, your leg draped over him.
“mmm- i’s’with eddie..” you slur, as steve pushes your hair behind your ear. “ohhh..” he trails off, letting his eyes drift down to your lips. you giggle and lean in, pressing your cheek against his as you wrap your arms around him and robin calls your name.
“y/n- woah- look! look look look!” she yells, dragging vickie over to show you that she has arrived.
you wave with a smile, trying to be polite, despite feeling steve’s open mouth on your throat, lips twisted into a smile as he hugs you tightly against him. you feel him laugh against your neck as eddie stumbles over to offer a drink to the new arrival, and you instinctually grab his arm.
“s-steve-“ you breathe. “what, baby?” he smiles. you look down at him and meet his glazed eyes and blown out pupils. “yeah?” he hums.
the tequila catches up to you as you mumble “I wanna kiss you..” an inch away from his open mouth. he groans, his eyebrows furrowing. “aw- you can’t just say that baby..” he shakes his head, but doesn’t stop inching even closer.
“mmm.. but I wanna-“ “I know I know.. me too- but I can’t- we can’t-“ he cuts himself off.
you pout, pushing your bottom lip out, and feel him harden under your leg. “alright- up…” he shakes his head, patting your hip. your jaw drops open as he starts to move towards the opposite side of the couch.
“wha- steve!” you whine, not caring how desperate you might look.
“we’re not- not doin this- we’re drunk-“ he tries to rationalize out loud. you huff but back off a little, knowing he’s right.
“what if we kissed when we were sober?” you suggest. he looks at you for a minute. “that’s not- you would still wanto?” he slurs. you nod instantly. “wanna do a lot with you..” you smile, pushing your lips into his neck, not quite kissing him.
his breathing picks up and you feel him groan softly. “y’gotta st-fuck..” he whimpers, pushing himself further into your touch. “just one..” you plead.
he sighs, pulling you on top of him. you giggle and throw your arms around his neck. “hi..” you breathe, resting your forehead against his. “hey..” he smiles. “we shouldn’t do this..” you admit, coming to your senses for just a second before sinking into him again. the corner of his mouth turns up a little. “yeah no- def- definitely shouldn’t..” he trails off, as your lips ghost over his.
“makes me wanna do it m-“ he cuts you off with his lips against yours and you moan softly before kissing him back.
he grabs at your back and you tangle your hands in his hair, making him quickly pull back. “mm.. y-cant..” he winces, making you giggle as you pull him in for another kiss and feel him get harder against your inner thigh.
“fuck..” you whimper softly, making him groan into the kiss.
“woah! what do we have here!!” eddie yells, snapping you out of it as he sits down right on the arm of the couch. steves head falls back and he shuts his eyes tight as he lets his hands fall to your waist.
he's a sight for sore eyes. his lips swollen and red and his chest heaving as he tries to catch his breath that you stole.
eddie’s eyebrows are raised and his mouth hangs open as he looks between the two of you.
“wow harrington, never thought you’d actually grow the balls.” he teases. you open your mouth to make an out of pocket, alcohol-induced comment about how his ball’s definitely grew, but steve quickly slaps a hand over your mouth, as if reading your mind.
he gives you a look and you giggle, sinking into his chest. he lets his arm wrap around you and the two of you look up at eddie, who was even more shocked than before.
“aw.. well I’m happy for you two lovebirds.. make sure I’m invited to the wedding..” he winks before hopping up and leaving you alone.
you glance down at steve, who is still catching the last of his breaths.
“y’in there?” you ask softly. he nods, looking up at you. “mhm just- thinking..” he mumbles. you gasp. “steve harrington? thinking??” you tease. he glares at you and starts to throw you off of him. “no no no! I’m sorry, I’m sorry..” you giggle, clinging onto him as he brings you back into his lap. he’s smiling now and you sit up a little to get a good look at him.
“what’re you thinking about?” you ask genuinely.
“you.” he answers immediately.
“what about me?” you push a little more. “nothin in particular.. just always thinking about you..” he admits easily. your heart jumps but you try not to show it. “oh yeah?” you smile. he nods before subtly trying to pull you closer.
“aww does stevie wan’another kiss?” you coo. he rolls his eyes but still pulls your neck down to him in a bruising kiss. you smile against his lips and try to get even closer to him.
“steve I want- mmm..” you cut yourself off, knowing you were probably going too far. he pulls away to hear you out. “whatdya want baby?” he asks softly. you groan softly at the nickname.
“want you..” you look down at your lap, scared to meet his eyes.
“y/n..” he groans, his voice getting lower. you quickly meet his eyes to find them dark, his pupils taking them up. “m’sorry..” you apologize. “mm mm baby- don’t apologize.. want you too, s’just- we’re way too drunk to make decisions like that..” he explains. you know he’s right but you still tease him a little.
“what’re you talkin about? m’not drunk..” you giggle, sinking your face into his neck and placing a kiss there. he smiles, making his jaw tense up. “yeah me neither..” he chuckles, as you finally roll off of him. his hand follows you and comes to a rest on your thigh when you settle next to him.
“m gonna go get some water.. y’want some?” you ask, starting to stand up.
“sure.. y’tryin to sober up for me?” he smirks as you start to walk away.
you shake your head and smile at him. “just trying to put some distance between us!” you call before turning and heading for the kitchen.....

CHAPTER NINETEEN | ❝𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖❞
Fall Semester 2017
“I’m gonna come over here all of the time.”
“When we actually get a couch, feel free to be our honorary fifth roommate anytime you want, Munson,” Robin said, which made you laugh as you also nodded in agreement.
It was the first night in the apartment and it definitely showed— there were boxes everywhere, lifeless walls, and nothing in the living room aside from said boxes and a TV (courtesy of Vickie’s mom) on the floor that you all were currently surrounding. Your bedroom was also nothing but a mess, and so was everyone else’s, which was the main reason why camping out in the living room for the night became the immediate consensus.
At first, you expected it to be a night of watching bad movies and ordering takeout, but Talia— now deemed as one of the coolest people you’d ever met— was adamant about making an actual meal for you all. She said something about how nice it would be to have a real meal on your first night, and who were all of you to deny an actual home-cooked meal?
Eddie came over right when you mentioned spaghetti to him over the phone. His own shared apartment was also in a state of disarray, but he was fine with setting unpacking to the side for the time being.
“Okay, the food’s done, but I’m so sad that I forgot to get garlic bread,” Talia said. “Next time, though.”
“I can’t believe you’re already thinking about next time. You’re way too good to us,” Vickie said and the rest of you hummed in agreement.
Talia only laughed in response as you all joined her in the kitchen to grab some food and then once again settled on the living room floor. Eddie left afterward, but promised not to “eat and run” next time; none of you were entirely sure if you actually believed him.
The rest of the night felt equivalent to the kinds of sleepovers you imagine you would’ve had if you had close enough friends when you were younger. There was a mass of blankets and pillows on the floor and you were watching probably one of the cheesiest romcoms to ever exist.
The four of you already felt like a little family. And perhaps it only already felt that way because you’d been craving a feeling like that for the past few years, maybe even for as long as you could remember. In your eyes, it was somehow so easy to immediately call the apartment your home.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
Spring Semester 2018
Anyone else would’ve deemed it as horrible timing— it was the middle of finals and all that should’ve been on both of your minds was studying— but neither you nor Steve saw it that way. You two had been through worse timings, you figured.
It was hard for both of you to focus on what needed to be focused on, but you and him made it work. Mostly.
You could admit that there were probably too many moments where you were in the middle of working on an essay and you stopped to text him a random thought that came to mind, and then there were other moments where he was calling you when you knew that he was supposed to be studying for one of his many tests.
Even in this instance, it probably wasn’t the best idea to be at Steve’s apartment instead of in your own space, and yet here you were anyway— “writing” an essay that was due by midnight, the last one you had to do actually, as he “studied” for the last test he had that was tomorrow.
“Okay, we should really get serious,” You said when you pulled away from Steve, maneuvering off of his lap and settling back on your side of the couch.
“What? We were just taking a quick break.”
“Yeah, and five minutes turned into fifteen,” You responded, and then proceeded to say the words that you really didn’t want to say. “I think I should go.”
Steve frowned; it was probably the cutest thing you’d ever seen. “No. Stay.”
“We’re just gonna keep distracting each other.”
He considered your words for a second. There was no way that he could deny them; you two were inadvertently distracting each other and had been for the past hour that you’d been at his place.
“Okay, what if you stayed out here and worked on your essay, and I went to my room to study. We wouldn’t be able to distract each other then.”
It was endearing how adamant he was about you staying that you were nodding along to his suggestion instead of saying how kind of silly it was, like you were little kids that needed to be separated in school; but maybe that was actually a pretty accurate description of you two in this moment.
“Okay, yeah, that works,” You told him, biting back your amused smile.
“Okay,” He nodded and smiled, giving you a quick kiss before he stood up from the couch and gathered his stuff off of the coffee table. “See you in a few hours.”
You managed to finish your essay in what felt like record time, and you hadn’t even been trying to rush through it. You proofread it two times before you submitted it and it was only a little after eleven when you closed your laptop, placed it on the coffee table, and then headed over to Steve’s room to see how he was doing with studying.
“I’m done.”
You gave him a skeptical look because the timing seemed a little too perfect. “You sure?”
“Yup, you can even test me if you want,” He said, giving you a teasing smile.
You laughed a bit as you nodded and went to sit across from him on his bed, crossing your legs under yourself. He handed over his notebook and you spent the next fifteen minutes “testing” him and, much to your happy surprise, he knew everything.
“You are, in fact, ready for this final, Harrington,” You smiled at him. “I see an A+ in your future.”
“Thank you,” He said, smiling back as he reached out to pull you into his lap and the notebook became discarded to the side.
You rested your hands on his shoulders and his settled on your hips.
“I’ve missed you,” You told him before you thought about what you were saying, and then you were quickly shaking your head at yourself. “Sorry, I know that probably sounds so dumb to say because, before this, the last time we saw each other was only three days ago, and it’s not like we didn’t text and stuff… But, I don’t know—”
He cut off your rambling with a quick kiss. “It’s not dumb. I’ve missed you too. I’m so glad finals are gonna be over tomorrow.”
“Me too,” You said and then thought about something. “Well, I’m technically already done with everything, but you’re gonna ace your test tomorrow. What time is it at?”
“One.”
You nodded at that and then looked over at the digital clock on his nightstand and took note of the time; it was only a few minutes past eleven-thirty right then.
“Okay, good, so you don’t have to kick me out yet?”
He immediately shook his head at your question. “I’d never kick you out. Even if the test was at eight in the morning.”
There was a playful tilt to his words, but you could also hear how true they were, which warmed something inside of you. You kissed him instead of saying anything else in response.
Your hands settled in the hair at the nape of his neck as you pushed yourself closer to him, getting rid of the little bit of space between you two.
It wasn’t the first time you two had been in this position— you in his lap or just simply being this close to one another. However, this was the first time that it finally felt right to do more, and you suddenly really wanted to do more.
Other times, you and him had been at your place and things were noisy and it felt as if you two could be interrupted at any given moment, so you always slowed things down instead of pushing them forward. This time, though, you didn’t want to keep things slow or ease away from him. There was no need to— no potential interruption a few feet away, or random noises that carried through thin walls.
You had never cherished the quiet as much as you did in this moment in Steve’s bedroom.
Slowly, you moved yourself against him, searching for any sort of friction, and the soft groan you received from him in response made you smile and do it again and again. You could feel him growing hard beneath you with every teasing stir, straining against his sweatpants.
“Shit,” Steve’s hands immediately went to your hips again and gave them a quick squeeze as you continued your slow movements.
“Is that okay?” You had a feeling that you knew what his answer was going to be, but you still asked it anyway and tried to sound as innocent and normal as ever.
He let out a contented sound. “Much more than just okay.”
“Good,” You responded and then leaned into his ear as you softly said your next words. “I want you, Steve.”
He gave your hips another squeeze. “Yeah?”
He was sort of guiding you at this point, controlling your movements; making you move a little quicker and then slowing you down again. It was subtle but so fucking hot and you could feel your arousal pooling in your underwear. You desperately wanted to slip out of the simple pair of leggings you were wearing so that there could be one less layer between you two.
“Mhm, yeah,” You answered his one-word barely heard question and then pulled back to meet his eyes. “Please.”
Steve didn’t need to be told twice.
He shifted things with ease— switching positions so that you were pressed back into the bed and he was settled between your now parted legs.
His fingers teased the hem of the t-shirt you were wearing, and you expected him to push it up and off of you, but he instead slipped beneath your shirt and found the waistband of your leggings so that he could pull them off of you.
The cool air hitting your now bare legs sent a chill through your body and your eyes slipped shut for a moment. When they opened again, you expected to immediately meet Steve’s eyes, but he was instead focused solely on the wet spot on your underwear.
“You’re soaked, aren’t you?” He asked as he started stroking your inner thigh, another action that sent something equivalent to a chill through your entire body.
You nodded shyly, closing your eyes again. “Yeah…”
You felt his hands find the bottom of your t-shirt again and that time he guided it off of you, leaving you in just your black bra. He leaned down to kiss you; it was slow and sweet like you two had all of the time in the world and it genuinely felt that way. “What do you want?”
“Mmm,” It was hard to answer when your brain could barely form any coherent sentences. You could feel his hand traveling upward, getting closer and closer to where you needed him to be, but it was too hard to verbalize that right then. “Fuck…”
“Go on, pretty girl, use your words,” Steve said, and the sweet term of endearment made your heart flutter wildly in your chest.
His middle finger ghosted over your clit through your soaked underwear and your hips bucked upward, but he pulled his hand away before you could feel anything and you suddenly felt so close to crying. “Fingers— Your fingers, Steve. Please.”
“Mhm,” He hummed softly and your eyes were shut but you could tell he was smirking. You were close to playfully calling him an asshole for all of his teasing but your brain was still practically running on autopilot, and then he was speaking again, anyway. “Anything for you.”
Your underwear was pulled off of you in one slow movement and you whimpered when you felt Steve’s middle finger trace through your soaked folds, gathering your slick and leisurely circling your clit. His other hand came up to firmly squeeze one of your breasts through the thin material of your bra that was the last piece of clothing left on your body.
“Take this off for me, honey,” He told you and you listened almost embarrassingly fast; bra gone and tossed somewhere on his floor in a matter of seconds.
“Good,” His finger continued teasing your clit, and the thumb of his free hand moved to rub your now exposed nipple. “Good girl.”
You barely had time to process the soft praise and what exactly it did to you before two of his fingers finally entered you and you sucked in the sharpest breath, all thoughts suddenly gone again.
“Steve…” Was all you could manage to say in the quietest voice as your eyes slipped shut and you focused on the feel of his fingers inside of you, somehow quickly finding and hitting the most perfect spots.
“You look so good like this,” Steve whispered, fingers slowly picking up speed and making you softly whine at every movement. “Spread out for me and squeezing my fingers so tight. Fuck.”
A part of you wanted to say something back— match his words and tell him how fucking perfect all of this was, how perfect he was— but your brain was effectively mush and all you could do was moan and whimper and mewl in response to him. Lucky for you, that all sounded like music to his ears.
He added another finger and his thumb found your clit, which made your body jerk harshly off of the bed.
“Steve, fuck. Right… Right there, yeah.”
The rough strokes against your clit pushed you so close to the edge, you could feel the pressure starting to build in your lower stomach. You turned your head, burying your face into his pillow and trying your hardest to hold back the scream you wanted to let out.
“Shit, He said. “You gonna come, honey?”
You quickly nodded. “Yes, yeah.”
“Go ahead,” He told you, voice low. “Come for me.”
Your eyes opened and you met his gaze as you did. He looked completely enamored by you, which only made your orgasm hit you a thousand times harder. You could feel your heartbeat pounding in your ears as Steve continued fingering you through your orgasm, trying to prolong it for as long as possible. He withdrew his fingers when he could tell that the overstimulation was becoming too much for you.
“You’re so good for me,” He said, leaning down to kiss your cheek. “That was so fast.”
Finally, your brain was able to form coherent sentences. “You’re so cocky.”
Steve let out the softest laugh. “Mm, but you love it.”
He was a thousand percent right, but you still shook your head. “Hate it, actually.”
“Doesn’t feel that way,” He said as he pressed the most featherlight touch against your sensitive clit and all you could do was softly whine at the feeling.
He was smiling as he lay down next to you and pulled you close to him, the side of your head pressing against his chest and one leg tangling with his. It was quiet as your breathing continued to return back to normal and your mind became clearer. After the briefest moment, your hand moved to dip beneath his sweatpants and boxers.
Steve let out a low groan when your hand found his hard cock before he softly said, “We don’t have to.”
“I want to,” You told him and then moved so that you were straddling his lap again. Your arousal was practically dripping down your thighs and making the hottest mess against his sweatpants. “I need you inside of me.”
“Fuck,” His eyes slipped shut for a brief second as if imagining what was about to happen. “You sure?”
“Very sure. Really sure. Super sure,” You answered, smiling at him.
Your hands went to grab at the ends of his t-shirt, pushing it upward, and he got the hint and quickly pulled it off. You then lifted your hips so that he could push down his sweatpants and boxers, and when his cock sprang free you let out a soft sound that slightly resembled a gasp. Your hand seemed to take on a mind of its own as it reached out to wrap around his hard length again and your thumb brushed against the tip.
He let out a strangled noise. “Shit, shit.”
“Is this good?” You asked softly as you slowly started moving your hand.
“So good. So fucking good.”
It was nice seeing him become a mess due to your teasing like you’d been because of him a few minutes ago.
After barely a minute, he placed a hand on your wrist to stop your movements. You were about to ask him what was wrong, but then he was leaning over to his nightstand and rummaging through the top drawer to pull out a condom. You quickly grabbed it from him and did all of the work of slipping it on his cock, which he immediately thought was the hottest thing he’d ever seen and he was close to cumming right then and there, but he somehow managed to hold back.
He so badly wanted to let his eyes fall shut as you slowly lowered onto him, but he kept his gaze on you and he promptly decided that that was probably one of the best decisions he ever made. There was nothing else that felt more like heaven to him than watching you throw your head back and let out the loudest moan as you took him inside of you completely.
“Fuck, you’re taking me so well,” Steve groaned, still not taking his eyes off of you, and you could only nod in response.
You didn’t move for a few moments. Instead, you savored and got used to the feeling of being so full of him. When you did finally start moving, lifting yourself ever so slightly and then sinking right back down onto Seve’s length, you let out a string of curses that morphed into soft moans.
Your hands became lost in his hair at some point and he had a near-bruising grip on your hips as he guided your movements, helping you ride him.
He flipped you two over when he couldn’t take it anymore, hand finding your hip as he pushed deep inside of you.
“Fuck, Steve!”
The thrusts were rough and quick but surprisingly didn’t feel as such.
“You feel so good,” He told you. “You’re so fucking perfect for me.”
You could feel yourself clenching around him when he said his words and he squeezed his eyes shut for a second.
“You gonna come?” You mumbled, brain barely about to form a coherent sentence, but Steve nodded wildly.
“Yeah. Yeah, honey, so close.”
You mewled. “Mm, me too.”
Upon hearing that, he let one of his hands slip between your bodies to find your clit. He started circling the sensitive nub, bringing you closer and closer to that edge with him. You clenched around his cock again and your back arched off the bed, hard nipples brushing against his chest.
You came when his lips abruptly found yours in the messiest kiss; it was a mix of tongues and teeth that was perfect and pushed you over the cliff. You cried out his name again and again and again as your orgasm abruptly hit you, it almost sounded as if you were saying some sort of prayer. Steve followed suit moments after, spilling into the condom with a loud groan after a particularly hard thrust.
Your heart pounded wildly in your chest and it barely felt like it was slowing down, but eventually it did. Steve’s weight crushed you in the most soothing way possible and he buried his face in your neck, placing soft kisses against the skin.
You had no idea what time it was and you felt too exhausted to turn your head and look at his nightstand.
“Do you have to kick me out now?” You asked, mostly joking with your question.
Steve pulled away from your neck then, eyes meeting yours. “You’re staying the night.”
You were too tired to play into your joke further so you nodded your head at his words and simply tilted your head up to kiss him instead. You two fell asleep just like that for the time being, exhausted bodies and tangled limbs.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
You smiled when Steve opened the door and you fought the urge to greet him with a hug and kiss like you normally did because in this instance you were holding something behind your back. “Hi.”
“Hi,” He smiled back before giving you a curious look when he noticed that you were hiding something. “What do you got there?”
“A surprise,” You answered as you stepped inside his apartment. “A very important surprise, actually.”
“Really?”
“Mhm,” You nodded and he looked at you expectantly but you let a silence linger for a few beats to make things more dramatic. After what felt like way too long of a pause, you showed him what you were holding, which at first didn’t look like anything special since all he saw was a gray plastic bag, but then you pulled out the package inside. “They’re curtains for your living room!”
Steve smiled at you immediately and you could tell he was trying to hold back a laugh. “Finally.”
“Do I get the ‘best girlfriend ever’ award now?”
He couldn’t help but laugh a little then as he reached out to pull you into his arms and then he pressed a kiss against the top of your head. “Yes, a thousand percent.”
“And they’re black too so they’ll block out the sun perfectly in the morning,” You told him as you returned the embrace for a brief second and then pulled back. “Come on, let’s put them up now.”
It took an hour to put the curtains up— the directions were a lot more confusing and meticulous than expected— but once it was done they looked great.
“Now we can fall asleep out here whenever we want,” You said when you and Steve were settled on his couch.
His hand mindlessly stroked one of your legs that were resting in his lap. “I think I’d much rather be in my bed with you.”
You looked at him, a teasing smile on your lips. “We haven’t had sex on the couch yet, though, and now it’s a possibility because we don’t have to worry about the people across the street looking in.”
“That’s a great idea,” Steve said, smiling back as his hand moved up to slip beneath your shirt and rest on your waist.
You were slightly tempted to lean into his touch, but you shook your head instead.
“Wait, no, let’s save that for later. We have other important things to do right now,” You said, and when he gave you a confused look, you leaned over to lightly poke his side. “You said you were gonna show me your favorite movie. That was the reason why I came over. Aside from gifting you your curtains, of course.”
“Oh, yeah,” He nodded as he leaned over to grab the TV remote off of the coffee table. “I haven’t seen this movie in a long time, probably since I was a kid, but for some reason it was the first thing that came to mind when I was thinking about movies I really like.”
Seconds later, he was pulling up Big Fat Liar, which you didn’t at all expect, but it was the best surprise. The smallest part of you had thought that he was going to out himself as a film bro and force you to watch some Martin Scorcese movie with him. This outcome was a thousand times better.
“I love this movie,” You told him, smiling. You also hadn’t seen it in forever, but in your eyes, it was still a classic. “It was one of the three that would play on repeat in my house when I was a kid; the other ones were Mulan and the second Spy Kids movie. At one point, my parents hid the DVDs away from me since I played them so much. I did manage to find them, though.”
Steve gave you an amused smile. “Now I’m imagining a five-year-old you ruining your entire house to find the movies.”
You let out a laugh. “Whatever image you’re coming up with is probably very accurate.”
“Hey, since we’re on the parent topic, I feel like I need to talk to yours.”
You immediately laughed again, assuming he was joking, but when he didn’t join in on your laughter or give you a playful smile, you stopped. “Oh, you’re being serious.”
“As your real boyfriend this time around, I think I should probably meet your parents before we go to a different country again,” He said, playfully smiling at you, but you were certain that he was actually being serious. If it weren’t for his abrupt mention of your parents, you would’ve happily smiled at him bringing up your and his plans for the summer; plans that actually managed to come together pretty fast.
The day that Steve finished his last final, he came over to your place and you two spent hours upon hours figuring out your plans for the summer; the places you both wanted to go, specific things to do and spots to eat in said places, where to spend the most time and where to spend the least, etc. All of the research was exhausting— you had ended up falling asleep around three in the morning with your head on Steve’s shoulder and your computer opened up in your lap— but it was the good kind of exhausting if that was even possible. The entire thing was impulsive and abrupt, two factors that could’ve easily made the whole thing be deemed as a bad idea, but you truly felt like it wouldn’t be.
You were quiet for a few moments, processing Steve’s previous words, and then you gave him a quick nod. “Okay, yeah, um, sure.”
He was easily able to pick up that something was at least a little wrong. “Yeah?”
“Yup,” You nodded again, looking away from him then and focusing on the TV. You were about to shift the conversation back to talking about the movie, but he started talking before you could.
“If you don’t want them to meet me yet, that’s okay.”
“No, no, you’re right. It would make sense if you met them. Like, if we did a quick phone call or whatever,” You said and then let out a sigh. You got quiet again and tried to figure out the best way to say what you really didn’t want to; talking about your parents was a hard feat. You had barely gotten to the point where you felt like you could easily do it with Eddie or Robin or anyone else.
Your eyes were still on the TV when you spoke again and decided to be entirely honest with Steve. “It’s just… It’s really hard talking to them sometimes. Like, talking about myself with them. Life stuff. It always feels like they won’t care.”
Steve’s hand found yours, intertwining them and giving a light squeeze. “I’m sure that’s not true.”
“You’d be surprised,” You told him and then finally met his eyes again. There was a soft look on his face that you wanted to get rid of, so you quickly tried to make things lighthearted and a lot less serious and sad. “You don’t need to talk to them. The only parental approval you need is from Robin, which you have, so everything’s fine.”
Steve nodded and didn’t push you further on everything, even though you could tell he kind of wanted to. Weird and strained parent relationships weren’t foreign to him, but you could tell that he was wondering if it really was only just about that. It was a thought that you quickly wanted to shut down.
“And I promise this really isn’t about you. It’s completely about them. If I had actual good parents, I would love to tell them about you and how much I adore you, and how I can’t wait to spend the summer with you. And I’d probably go into an annoyingly deep amount of detail about what all of our plans are,” You rambled and the smile he gave you warmed your heart. “But, I don’t have good parents, so we don’t need to worry about telling them anything.”
“So, if they randomly call when we’re in London, that’s when you’ll break the news?” His question was playful and lighthearted and just what you wanted to hear right then.
“Yes, exactly, that sounds like perfect timing,” You answered, laughing a little. “Y’know this whole parent conversation is making me realize that your parents are probably gonna hate when you tell them that we’re together, or I guess, “back” together. Your mom really didn’t like me.”
It was a weird set of circumstances that you weren’t entirely sure how it would be solved. Even before Steve told them that you two had broken up because you “cheated,” you could tell that his mom wasn’t at all a fan of you and wanted Steve to be with anyone else. Probably a girl handpicked from a specific list.
“Remember when you told me that it’s my life, and I should do what I want because I have to live it?” He asked, and you nodded, the smallest smile on your face.
“I’m what you want?” It was a question that you were certain of the answer to, but you still had the urge to ask it.
Steve nodded as he pulled your intertwined hands up so that he could press a quick kiss to the back of yours. “Always. You just got the ‘best girlfriend ever’ award, remember?”
You smiled wider as you nodded back. “Ah yes, you can never break up with me, no matter what your parents say, because of the curtains.”
“Exactly.”
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
The party had been an idea since mid-March. Robin randomly suggested it to you and Vickie one night— “How fucking cool would it be if we threw a graduation party for Talia?”— and you both immediately agreed.
And now, a month and a half later, here it was. Over thirty people were crammed into your guys’ apartment, but everyone was having fun— especially Talia, which was all that really mattered— so it made the mess that you’d all have to clean up in the morning worth it.
It was pretty safe to say that you were drunk. It was actually a statement that could’ve been said just an hour into the party, but it was even more certain now as the second hour moved into the third.
You currently lingered by Eddie who, right at the start of the party, had appointed himself as the one in charge of the music, which didn’t surprise any of you. He was sitting with your laptop that was connected to the speakers set up in the living room. Every few minutes you jokingly suggested songs for him to play and he kept playfully shooing you away and vetoed all of your suggestions. When he actually did play the Pitbull song you requested, you laughed for what felt like five minutes straight.
Eddie shook his head at you, but there was a smile on his face, like he wanted to laugh at your current antics. “You’re so drunk right now.”
You had enough self-awareness to know that you couldn’t argue with his words, so you simply stuck your tongue out at him instead.
He couldn’t hold back his laugh that time. “And that confirms it.”
You started walking away then and gave him an enthusiastic thumbs up when he told you to “Stay safe!” as you wandered off. You headed into the kitchen for no particular reason— a part of you wanted another drink, but you could also recognize how bad of an idea that would be. You considered grabbing some food; a room-temperature slice of pizza didn’t sound like the worst thing in the world right then.
A pair of hands abruptly grabbing your waist made you jump and yelp. The touch didn’t feel entirely unfamiliar, though, so when you turned and saw Steve in front of you, you were quick to smile at him even though your heart was still racing.
You couldn’t remember the last time you’d seen him tonight, and you also couldn’t remember how exactly you two had gotten split up in the first place.
“Sorry for scaring you.”
That was suddenly the last thing on your drunken mind.
“Hi,” You said, practically jumping into his arms. “Where’ve you been?”
He laughed a bit at your enthusiasm. “Talking to Robin. She was rambling about this one summer class that she signed up for, and then she roped me into playing a drinking game version of Uno with her and a couple of her music major friends.”
“Oh, that makes sense. That’s one of her favorite things to do at a party. It gets very intense so I always stay away,” You said, and then noticed his flushed cheeks and lazy smile which made you laugh a little. “How much were you forced to drink during the game?”
“A lot,” He admitted and then proceeded to give you the most exaggerated sad look that you’d probably ever seen. “Turns out I kinda suck at Uno.”
You let out a soft “Aw” and leaned in to kiss his cheek, playing into how “sad” he was. “You should’ve let me warn you how good Robin is at that game. That’s why we never play it at game night anymore.”
Steve’s hands settled on your waist and he pulled you close. You so badly wanted to kiss him at that moment, and there was so much going on around you both right then that you were certain that nobody would’ve paid attention to the two of you making out in the kitchen.
Instead of doing that though, you pulled away from him abruptly. Your hand found his and you started pulling him out of the kitchen.
“Where are we going?” He asked, and you weren’t looking at him, but you could hear the amused smile in his voice.
“I need to show you something in my room,” You answered and then took a quick glance at him. “It’s super important.”
When the door was closed behind you two, you looked at Steve and he gave you a certain look.
“What did you wanna show me?”
“Hmm, weirdly enough, I completely forgot,” You gave him a quick shrug and a small smile before getting closer to him and circling your arms around his torso.
“Oh my god, did you bring me in here to seduce me?” He asked, returning the embrace immediately, and the playfulness in his tone made you let out the softest laugh.
“Maybe a teeny tiny little bit.”
“That’s very cute.”
You lifted your head from his chest and finally kissed him. It felt like it had been years since the last time you’d kissed him and it was definitely your inebriation making you so hyperbolic and over-dramatic because the actual last time was definitely just a few hours ago, but you still savored the feeling of his lips on yours.
Steve’s hand found your cheek and he deepened the kiss immediately. You inwardly sighed in contentment and your hands fisted themselves in the shirt he was wearing and pulled him impossibly closer to you.
It was when he started guiding you back toward your bed that the tiniest bit of logical thinking suddenly sunk in and you broke the heated kiss. “Wait, shit, anyone could walk in.”
Steve considered your words for a moment and then walked over to your door to lock it. “Problem solved.”
The door being locked didn’t change the fact that you could still be interrupted by any sort of harsh knock against it, but who were you to deny his logic in this moment and the stupidly happy smile on his face?
You let out a breath of a laugh as you nodded in agreement. “Problem solved.”
It was a blur of movements that led you two to laying on your bed— Steve on top of you and settled perfectly between your legs. Your skirt had ridden up into oblivion and his jeans-covered hard-on was rubbing against you in the best way possible.
“I can’t wait to spend the summer with you,” You mumbled at one point. Steve’s mouth had moved from your lips to your jaw and then down to your neck.
“Just the summer?” He mumbled against your skin. “You planning to get rid of me after that?”
You mock gasped. “Oh no, you caught me.”
He nipped harshly at your neck, which made you giggle.
One of your hands came up to find his face, pulling him away from your neck so you could meet his eyes in the darkness. “I can’t wait to spend the summer with you, and also many, many days and years after that.”
“Mm, that’s what I like to hear.”
You two were very drunk and it was obvious that most of your words were exaggerated, but your previous statement didn’t entirely feel that way.
Steve’s lips found yours again and you let out a happy hum in response. His hand moved higher and higher on your thigh which made you moan softly, and you felt so tempted to grab his hand and guide it right where you needed it to be.
Before you could do any of that or even contemplate it further, there was a loud knock on your door and then you heard Robin’s voice. “Are you two in there?”
“No!” You yelled out loud enough for her to hear. “Nobody’s in here.”
“We’re about to do the cake, so your presence out here is very importantly needed!”
The smallest part of you wanted to say no and resume what you were doing with Steve, but you couldn’t.
Your eyes met Steve’s for a second before you shut them. “Okay, we’re coming!”
“Thank you!”
Steve pressed a quick peck against your lips and then rolled off of you. “We’ll pick this up later.”
You followed suit and stood up from your bed, readjusting your skirt in the process. “I can’t promise I won’t pass out before then.”
“In that case, I’ll make sure to carry you back here and tuck you into bed,” He said with a smile as he circled an arm around you.
You sighed dreamily and leaned into his touch. “Ugh, you’re too good to me.”
He laughed a bit and then pressed a kiss to the side of your head. “You’re also way too good to me. Remember last night at the arcade? You actually let me beat you at air hockey.”
You quickly shook your head. “Shh, you weren’t supposed to know that.”
“I’m sorry, but you made it very obvious,” He said, laughing again, and that time you couldn’t help but laugh too.
You got the sudden urge to pull him back into your bed. Not even to do anything that would lead to both of your clothes coming off in the process, but to just simply talk to him. About nothing and everything until you fell asleep and woke up with what you assumed would be the worst headache. It had only been a few weeks, but you had quickly gotten to the point where you wanted to tell everything to Steve; every one of your random thoughts or whatever else was on your mind. And you always did, and he did the same.
Of course, you knew that you couldn’t do that right in this moment because another knock from Robin was inevitable. So you instead laced Steve’s hand with yours and led you both back into the noise of the party.

Forget About Eddie
Bestfriend!SteveHarrington x Fem!Reader
WARNINGS: mentions of Eddie being a fuckboy, a lil fluff and a lil smut.
Word Count: 2247
Summary: You and Eddie have just broken up, but you're still hung up on him. Steve hates seeing you so down and just wants to make you feel better (better than Eddie could).
A/N: idk i'm on a smut writing spree, expect some more fics tomorrow (maybe some eddie, maybe some slashers, who really knows). i hardly edited this and i feel like the ending might be a lil rushed, but hey, smut is smut.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SMUT BELOW THE CUT~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“I just don’t really know what to do, you know?” You and your best friend, Steve Harrington are walking to his car after your shift at Scoops. You’ve been upset all night over a fight you had with your ex-boyfriend, Eddie.
You and Eddie had been broken up for a couple of months now, but you were still sneaking over to his trailer in the middle of the night. You couldn’t help it, you were young, horny, and Eddie was pretty good in bed. It was easy enough, until you had to get dressed and do the walk of shame across the trailer park. You know keeping this up wasn’t a smart idea, but a part of you also still loved Eddie. Even if you knew that he was just using you to get what he wanted.
“I don’t know why you’re still so hung up on that loser. You’ve always been too good for him and he didn’t deserve you.” Steve says as he unlocks the car doors and slides into the driver’s seat. He looks over at you and seeing your sad face says, “Alright, we’re going back to my place and having a movie night. I’ll call Robin and see if she’ll come over. You need to have some fun.”
You almost protest, but that does sound like it’ll get your mind off things. And if you’re at Steve’s  you won’t be as tempted to go to Eddie’s.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Well Robin can’t come over. She’s got a date or something. So I guess it’s just you and me.” He says as he places a bowl of popcorn on the coffee table in front of you. “What do you wanna watch first? I just got a tape of The Outsiders. Remember that movie?”
“Yeah that sounds good. Thanks for the popcorn.” You reach for the bowl as Steve sits down next to you.
Throughout the movie you can feel Steve looking over at you until he finally reaches over to slide his arm around your shoulders. “Hey, I know you’re upset, but just try to forget about Eddie and whatever stupid fight you guys have had.”
“I know, Steve, It’s just really hard. I miss him and I can’t seem to stay away. I keep going over whenever he calls like I’m just some booty call and not his ex-girlfriend of TWO YEARS! It’s like that’s all he wanted me for in the first place!” You put your hands over your face and shake your head.
“Wait. You’re still going over there and sleeping with him? Why would you do that? You’re way too good to be waiting around for his phone calls just so he can get off and leave you upset.” Steve pauses the movie and turns toward you. You didn’t mean to tell him all of that, you’d been telling Steve and Robin that you hadn’t seen Eddie since the breakup. You never told them that you two had been secretly fucking every other night.
“Uh… I mean it’s hard, Steve! We were together for a long time, I can’t just stop seeing him!” You reach for the remote to play the movie again, but Steve grabs your wrist to stop you.
As you look up at him he says, “I know. I’m sure it is hard. But he can’t be that great that you’re still doing…that with him.” Steve’s arm tightens around your shoulders. He’s staring down at you with a look you’ve never seen from him before. His right hand moves from your wrist to your cheek as he brushes his thumb down to your chin.
“I mean…I don’t know.” It’s hard for you to get words out. Steve has been your best friend since you guys were kids. But all of a sudden something feels a little bit more with him. The way he’s looking at you and lightly gripping your chin is making you dizzy. You’ve never thought about him in any other way, but now your heart is beginning to flutter.
Steve notices it too, his eyes go to where his hand rests on your chin before looking back into your eyes. He slowly tilts your chin up and leans down to plant a gentle kiss on your lips.
You kiss him back before he pulls away and says “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I did that. I think I just got carried away.” He drops his hands, grabs the remote and flips the movie back on.
“It’s… it’s okay.” You can’t think of anything else to say so you sink back into the couch and continue to watch the movie like nothing happened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When you get home later that night, you can’t stop replaying that kiss in your head. You’ve never even thought about doing anything like that with Steve. He’s your best friend. You two have practically known each other since you two were in diapers. And besides, he isn’t your type at all. Apparently your type is self obsessed bad boys who break your heart yet still call you up at 1 in the morning. Look where that’s gotten me, you think. Steve is sweet, nice, caring. Everything that Eddie turned out not to be.
You fall asleep thinking about what would have happened had Steve not come to his senses.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Steve has been thinking about the kiss since he dropped you off at your apartment. He’s not sure what came over him at that moment. But he does know that he enjoyed it. He knows that he definitely wanted more. But he also knows that you’re his best friend and you’re still getting over that asshole, Eddie Munson. He doesn’t want to force you into anything else.
But he still can’t see what you see in that guy. He didn’t know Eddie that well. They ran in different circles when they were in high school, but he still didn’t notice anything particularly great about the guy.
And he was so tired of seeing you heartbroken over it. Steve thought you deserved so much more than Eddie.
Steve knew he could make you feel better than Eddie ever could.
Steve continued to think about that kiss as his hand slipped beneath the fabric of his boxers.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two days go by before you see Steve again. He’s giving you a ride home from Robin’s house after a girls night.
“You know, you really didn’t have to come pick me up. I would’ve been fine walking home.” You say as you meet him outside.
“I know, but Robin’s is on my way home from work.”
Not much is said on the drive to your house. You’re still thinking about the kiss from the other night and you’re not sure if Steve is thinking about it as well. And if he is, you’re not sure what he’s thinking about it. Does he think it was a mistake? Does he want to do it again? You’re so lost in your thoughts that you don’t realize you’ve pulled up in front of your house until you hear Steve saying “Hellooooo. Did you hear me? I asked if you were okay with me coming in and hanging out for a while?”
“Oh. Um. Absolutely, that’s totally fine.” Both of you got out of the car and walked into your small apartment. “So uh, what did you want to do?” You weren’t sure why you were this nervous. You felt like the dynamic between you and your best friend had completely changed since the other night, yet Steve seemed perfectly normal.
“I was actually just wanting to talk to you. You know, make sure you’re doing okay? After that fight with Eddie?” Steve sat down on your small sofa and kicked his shoes off.
You sat down next to Steve, taking your shoes off as well. “Yeah, actually I’m doing a lot better. He hasn’t called since the fight which helps too. I’ve still thought about calling him though.”
Steve just stares at you. You recognize the look on his face as the same one from the other night. The look right before you kissed you. You’re trying not to get your hopes up that it’ll happen again, but your heart is beating a thousand beats per minute. Finally, he says “Look, I hate seeing you like this. I know you two were together for a long time, but he doesn’t deserve you. He never has. He took you completely for granted.”
You weren’t sure what to say. Steve continued, inching closer to you, “I guess I just don’t see what’s so great about Eddie.” He placed his hand on top of your thigh and slowly inched his other hand along the tops of your shoulder. He said what he’d been thinking about the other night. “I bet I could make you feel better than he ever did.” Steve tilted your head up once again and kissed your lips. Rougher than the first time, but still tender. He didn’t pull away this time.
You reached up to grab his face in your hands, kissing him with more force. Steve took hold of your hips, pulling you onto his lap before running his hands through your hair. The two of you were holding so tightly onto each other it was almost painful.
You were the first to pull away, gasping for breath. “Are we… is this…” the words died on your lips as you noticed the way Steve was looking at you with lust filled eyes.
“It’s okay. Let me make you feel good. Let me make you forget about him.” Steve lifted you up and sat you down on the couch, pushing your legs open so he could kneel between them. He peppered kisses from your neck to the top of your jeans. He began unbuttoning your pants and slipping them off of you as he looked up at you through his long lashes. He pulled down your panties and tossed them to the side before trailing his fingers around your swollen clit.
You almost couldn’t believe what was happening. Steve Harrington, your best friend, was on his knees with his face dangerously close to your core. Steve Harrington was rubbing circles on your sensitive bud. You threw your head back and let your moans escape.
“That’s it, baby.” Steve continued rubbing circles as he leaned forward and inserted his tongue inside your soaking hole. Your hands flew down to grab and pull at his hair and he hummed in response sending vibrations throughout your body.
You almost couldn’t take it anymore, you had to have him now. You were too impatient, too needy, for something you didn’t even know you wanted until right now. “Steve.” you breathed as you pulled him back up to you, foreheads touching.
“Shh.” Steve unbuttoned his jeans and pulled them down just enough to release his hard cock. He kissed you one last time, letting his lips linger on yours as he lined himself up with your entrance.
He pushed himself into you slowly, gently, taking his time and relishing the feeling of your walls clenching around him. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders, moaning into his ear. “God, you feel amazing. I bet I feel better than him.” He said it with a sneer as he pumped in and out of you. You couldn’t respond, you just continued to moan. “Mhm, that’s what I thought.”
Steve leaned back and started rubbing circles around your clit. You almost couldn’t hold yourself together any longer. The tension that had been building in your stomach was about to explode. “Steve, I- I’m gonna come.” You managed to breathe out in between your moans.
“Come for me, baby, come on.” Steve’s thrusts grow faster as you reach your climax. He puts his hands on your face, the pads of his thumbs gently caressing your cheeks as you come down from your high. “That’s it, sweetheart.”
He bends forward to kiss your forehead before moving his hands to your hips, gripping them a little too hard. His thrusts grow more erratic as his own climax nears. Steve’s mouth grazes your ear as he continues to pump in and out of you. “Fuck, baby. You feel so good.” He almost can’t hold himself together any longer. He pumps one last time before pulling out and shooting thick white ropes onto your stomach. He slumps forward laying next to your side and runs his hands through his hair.
Steve stands up and pulls his jeans back up. He takes his shirt off and wipes your stomach clean before sitting on the couch next to you and pulling you towards him. With your head resting on his chest, you say, “Wow. I…wow.”
You can feel his eyes looking down on you as he brushes his hand through your hair. “I know. I’ve been thinking about you since the other night.”
You nuzzled tighter into his chest, “Do you want to stay the night?”
He chuckles as he picks you up and begins carrying you to your room. Of course, babe.” He lays you down on your bed and slips under the blankets with you, pulling you to his chest once more. You feel so at home cuddled into Steve’s chest.
“So tired, Steve.” You mumble as your eyes begin to close.
“That’s alright baby, get some rest. We can talk in the morning.”
As you start to drift to sleep you can hear Steve say, “So, did you forget about Eddie?”
Summary: Eddie is back in the city, after months of no contact, he decides to show up at the apartment he helped you choose. After months, what could have changed, right?
Eddie was back at home! Well, at least in your house.
He could hear your muffled chuckle from the other side of the door, causing a smile to break out across his perfect lips. He hasn't thought about why you never reply to his last text. Life happens and sometimes we don't have a lot of free time, but damn!! That was the longest Eddie had gone without talking to you, and he was hungry! Hungry for your laugh, your lame jokes… hungry for you!
A strange nervousness started to build in his belly, as if his intuition was trying to warn him of something. Eddie tapped lightly with the secret rhythm of the two of you, but after a few minutes of no one coming to open the door, he tapped three times loudly.
The laughter suddenly ceased and strong feet against the floor trembled all the way from the kitchen to the front door. Eddie was smiling in anticipation, as always so determined to memorize every new detail of your face.
His smile disappeared when a strange face appeared instead of yours. He furrowed his brows and cleared his throat, "Yeah, I'm… is that the house…? " The words died in the back of the singer's throat, without letting him finish the sentence, you opened the door all the way, “no way! oh my fucking god! Eddie, what are you doing here?” you didn't let him answer either, jumping towards your best friend, you hugged him by the neck, making the hairs on his arms stand on end as he felt your breath against his neck "I missed you" he said, simply.The man standing at your door, clear his throat, trying to make himself present in the room, with Sir Bart, your cat, on his lap.
The veterinarian introduced himself as your boyfriend, to Eddie's sad surprise.
Boyfriend?!  You've had a few affairs here and there but never anyone you've titled boyfriend, Eddie's heart sank a little at that moment. His head was spinning in a spiral of self-pity, inside he felt destroyed but outside he just smiled and offered his hand to your “boyfriend”, “I'm the best friend” he said with a smirk.
A few more seconds of awkward silence “well, nice to meet you Eddie, but… duty calls” Handing the cat to Eddie, automatically holding Bart like he was a baby “like sticking thermometers in dogs’s trunks was a big duty” Eddie rumble, letting the air escape through his nose in a muffled laugh.
The vet and you walked to the door, Eddie preferred to go to your room and spare him the sight of the newly formed couple tender goodbyes.  Lying on your bed, petting one of the cat's paws while you weren't back, he buried his nose in your pillow, smelling the peach scent of your shampoo, Eddie knew he only had a chance, it was the situation he always avoid, the fight or flight thing and Eddie hates to fight but for you… he would always choose to fight.
Few minutes later, you emerge from the almost dark corridor swinging your hips by the door. "Hey Ed, I need to take a shower before we can catch up, ok?” you said, hanging the weight of your body at your bedroom door, your eyes never leave his. “A shower huh!?” he raised his brow in a devilish way, making the goosebumps irradiate through your skin.
Eddie felt a pervert, of course he notices your flushed rosy cheeks, the wet hair at the nape of your neck, a few strands of hair glued in your beautiful face, the red marks that adorned the skin of your neck…“Oh! Shut up Eddie, it’s none of your business” you snapped back to him.
He doesn’t respond to your rudeness for a few, to lose thinking about your sorrow and puffy pussy still leaking with the release of his brand-new enemy. “I like when you’re mean, do you know that?” he said, popping up off of your bed, walking calmly ‘till his heavy boots almost touch your bare feet. He left his hand resting on the wall behind your head, trapping your body between him and the wall.
His eyes were burning through your skin, the dark chocolate of his eyes making it harder to get free of his embrace “Oh! get off Eddie,you’re such an asshole sometimes”  you tried to get free from his embrace but it was in vain
“Sweetheart, it was just a simple question” his tone was mischievous.
His other hand was ghosting the side of your body, waiting for the right moment to finally touch your soft skin. His menthol breath hits your nostrils, making you feel dizzy.  While his wet lips are moving with every word he provocatively pronounces near the side of your face.
You fall out of words, they are all gone, your brain shot down! It was the first time Eddie flirted with you so openly, so much desire burned into those big eyes, sucking all the air of your lungs “I said..I said it's none of your business” your voice was small and almost inaudible.
“You see…” he started “there’s where you are wrong! it is sweetheart.” he simply said.
His free hand touching your waist, exploring that part of your body like he hadn’t done it a million times, holding you at the place he wants. His lips lightly brushing the skin of your neck “I mean… It is my business” he kissed all the length of your neck, biting and licking between his words, testing how far he could push your buttons.
You squirmed under his lips, letting out a whimper that made Eddie’s dick twitch under his heavy jeans. His lips ghost all the way up to your ear, he nape your earlobe between his teeth at the same time his calluses hands bravely grab at your tit, feeling your hardening nipple between his fingers “Tell me to stop” he demand “tell me that is wrong'', still groping your body while you shyly start to hump his thigh, seeking for any kind of relief “Look how pathetic” he mock, “What happen sweetheart, doc dolittle didn’t made you cum?”.
He sunk your body on his thigh, forcing your sensitive cunt against the rough of his jeans, making you gasp, you don’t know if it was because of the humiliation or the fact that you really didn’t finish because of Eddie’s knocks at your front door. “Tell me what you want, sweetheart”, his fingers brush through your wet center “just…please Eddie” you plead.
Your trembling voice gives Eddie signals of your neddy, he could only laugh. “I’ll baby, I promise I will touch you, but first you have to say what I’ve asked you” he patronize,"You need to tell me he didn't make you cum" he took your hand to his hard dick "you need to tell me how needy you are” he whispered the end of the sentence in your ear “and how much you need my dick" giving you his satisfy giggle.
“Eddie please…don’t tease me, need you, I've needed you for so long” you said squeezing his hard bulge into your palm, you could see he wouldn’t change his mind even if you begged for it “he didn’t make me cum” your voice was a mere whisper. He let escape a muffled laugh by his nose, his fingers trespassing the barrier of your panties meeting with a very dripping wet pussy, he lightly explored your center with his digit, collecting all the arousal that was dripping through your tight. He brought his finger next to your face, knowing the release of another man was mixed with the arousal he caused you.
“Open” he demand referring to your plush lips, your mouth was faster than your brain and you had your mouth open, his finger invade your mouth being heavy at your tongue “suck it” he said, the taste was bittersweet, you could feel Eddie’s dick twitching every hard suck you gave to his finger, making you moan.
“Atta girl” he said, his lips touching yours for the first time, soft and strong like you imagined your first time with him would be. His tongue didn't ask for passage as it invaded your mouth, exploring all the flavors he'd craved for as long as he could remember. The bittersweet taste didn't disappear immediately, it disappeared as Eddie devoured your mouth with lust and passion. Your muffled moans caused Eddie's hands to wrap your leg around his waist, lifting you as if you weighed nothing.
Your body pressed between the wall and your best friend's body, his erection pressing you where you needed it most while his hungry lips attacked your neck, chest and before he could grab your nipple you held tight to the man's hair, making His gaze focus on yours for a few moments. The moan he let out was pornographic, making you rub your core against his erection in search of relief “bed, please” you asked.
In a single movement, Eddie had you on your back on the bed, legs still wrapped around his slutty waist, the kisses ended while the giggles began "Are you sure you want this?" he asked in a serious tone, you nodded with your lips trapped between your teeth "words darling, you need to tell me what you want"
“I want this” you said, bringing your hand to the face of the man who was looking at you in such amazement “I want you”. The kiss was no longer so hurried, Eddie knew that you would no longer slip through his fingers, at least not now.
He took his time kissing and re-kissing every part of your skin that he had already kissed,lowered the strap of your tank top over your shoulder and all the way until it left your body. His lips were always in contact with your skin. His hands traced patterns on the sensitive skin of your belly as his lips kissed the mounds of your breasts, a firm hand cupped and massaged as he licked and sucked your nipple.
"fuck, you're so fucking hot" he said in a muffled voice, still positioned between your legs, you could feel Eddie rubbing his dick against your wet pussy, forming a wet spot on his jeans "I need to feel you, fuck, I… I can not wait anymore"
His mouth traveled to your panties, he ran his nose over your center, pulling all your scent into his nostrils "fuck", he continued to use his tongue and tease you, your grip on his hair only increased, and you he grew impatient, tears of lust formed in the corners of his eyes "Eddie, more please, please."
He slowly took off your panties, tracing the length of your leg with his fingertips, thick fingers moving your legs apart from each other, exposing what Eddie was so eager to touch "You're dripping wet, poor thing" he said as he kissed your thigh and trailed the kisses down to your groin. "Is this all for me?" he let his cocky tone win at times, making you feel small, “you didn’t need it, my dear.”
His tongue passed straight against your pussy, gathering all your juices in his mouth, you both moaned together, his tongue invaded your entire pussy, finding your neglected hole. He circled it with the tip of his tongue, teasing the entrance that was already pulsing with lust. His tongue applied enough pressure to enter you, fucking your pussy at a slow pace while his hands adorned your breasts.
The feeling was almost too much, you had never felt this kind of pleasure with a man before, damn! with anyone really. The thoughts emptied your head and you could only feel Eddie's lips around your clit while his two fingers fucked you, creating space to accommodate his big cock.
Eddie felt your pussy tighten around his fingers, your breathing started to become rhythmic, he could feel you were close and he continued to suck harder, determined to have all of your release in his mouth, triumphant at having made you cum, for the first time of the night. your orgasm soon washed over your body, a feeling of euphoria only made you want to return the experience to your best friend.
Your greedy hands went to his belt buckle, which then held her hands between his calloused ones. You wanted to punch that smug smile off his face "I'd fire my bullet too quickly if you did it...you know?" He looked at the size of the tent pressed into his pants, you could only laugh at his silly comment.
His eyes roamed over your naked body, admiring every detail while his cunning hands undid his belt and caressed his cock "Are you sure?" he asked once again "yes, yes I do" you said in a whisper as he pulled down his underwear keeping eye contact with you, his cock jumped free of his black boxers, it was thick and beautiful and just his sign made your mouth water.
He masturbated his dick while the eyes that looked at you with so much affection turned black with desire, the smile on the corner of his mouth before he let a ball of spit fall on the head of his dick, helping to lubricate his movements "that's good" He said, positioning his dick at your entrance.
He didn't put everything into you at once, he started pumping the head of his cock at your entrance, creating space for all the length that was yet to come, he could feel you squirming beneath him "shh sweetheart, it's about to finish" he told you he said every inch deeper he went, "that's it, you can do it" "taking me so well" “you’re gonna feel so good, i promise” he praised until he was deep balls in you. "fucking tight pussy", he placed his forehead against yours, waiting for his signal so he could move.
You had never felt so full in your life, his cock filled all the space your pussy had "fuck, Eddie please, fuck me please" the feeling was overwhelming, your pleas were music to Eddie's ears, the best album Ozzy couldn't compete with the sounds you let escape your sweet lips.
Eddie's hips came against yours, that delicious back and forth movement made you bow in his hands, which, to keep you in place, held you deliciously by your neck, pinning you against the bed while his cock abused your pussy, hitting the right spot.
"Damn kitten, best pussy I've ever had" Eddie just babbled gibberish sentences while lost in the pleasure of feeling your g-spot against the pink head of his dick, his mouth sucking bruises through your salty skin, eliciting moans and sighs from your mouth as your bodies moved in complex synergy.
His thumb came against your swollen clitoris, massaging it lightly while his dick had no mercy on your hole, "fuck eddie, I'm going to cum again" you said between moans and the noise of your skin slapping against his "I'm going to cum, fuck" you sang and he didn't slow down.
But a few minutes inside you "FUCK! I'm going to cum too" he began to fuck you clumsily, still playing with your clit "cum with me, cum with me" the hand that already looked more like a necklace circling your neck and squeezed your breast as Eddie fucked your pussy harder "where do you want me to cum, babe?".
"Inside" you replied in a whisper, "I want you to cum inside my pussy" your orgasm was washing your body, leg shaking and eye rolling, Eddie fucked you throughout your orgasm, praising you "is that what you want? Do you want me to fill your pussy? you dirty slut!" his hands were firmly on your waist now, his fingers were sinking into your flesh "Fuck, I'm going to..." and a loud moan interrupted Eddie's sentence, who collapsed next to him on the bed , still high on your adrenaline.
Not knowing how to react, you did the only logical thing in your head, go take a shower.
"So, I'm going to go take a shower" you jumped out of bed and walked to the bathroom, closing the door almost all the way and soon Eddie could hear the sound of water falling against the tile. Eddie could see the steam from the shower seeping through the cracks of the door, dancing beautifully between the last rays of sunlight that entered through the large window. Eddie's eyes roamed over the pictures methodically hung on the wall, over some potted plants  Focusing on every new ornament and adornment around her room.
His favorite was the first corroded coffin poster autographed by him in a fancy frame! Some pictures of you with students, with friends and with him.
His eyes were soon engulfed by the giant yellow letters on the cover of a gossip magazine"New Girlfriend?" over a photo of the model kissing Eddie “fuck…fuckfuckfuck”, he started to freak out. "Fucking hell" he thought, turning the magazine cover side down. Eddie felt the pillow beside him sink, felt the smell of clean clothes exuding from your pajamas, the heat that radiated from your skin warming the metalhead's bare arms, "it's everything ok?" you said, getting comfortable by his side,"She's not my girlfriend",he promptly said.
"I KNOW she's not your girlfriend, if she was, what she is not… you would’ve told me".
The man could feel the sadness behind your gaze. "It was just a picture, like that actress who made the horror movie we liked” you continue,”what was her name again?" you got up from the bed, trying to escape that conversation. Already going to the kitchen.
You started to put some snacks in the jars "she wasn't my girlfriend either" he said, while following you closely. "Oh! and that model you said you were going to date.."
"Wasn't my girlfriend and didn't say that! Sweetheart, come on!?, what are you trying to do here?" he said gesticulating between you two, you rolled your eyes and went to the fridge, pretended to look for something inside "I mean, this won't be the last picture I'll ever see of you with a woman, it 's you Eddie". Eddie felt all the blood drain from his own heart hearing your harsh words.
You changed the subject abruptly, the remorse of the words that came out of your mouth, in the way they came out… You tried to speak as softly as possible to not trigger Eddie even more "we're out of beer, I think Ethan had the last one" you gave an apologetic smile "can you go buy some more while I put some film for us, eds?".
Eddie felt his cheeks warm at the thought of Doctor Dolittle sitting on your couch, snuggly with you in his arms, even more, he felt mad about you still thinking about him after all that happened with you two.
"Fuck" he sighed, "Yeah! sure, I'll buy you more beer" Eddie put on his jacket and grabbed his keys "but just for you know, princess" despite the affectionate nickname, his tone of voice was nothing more than dry, your eyes glued to the hard face he gave you
"Between the two of us, I've never had a girlfriend, you know that! And if I had one, I wouldn't wait weeks to tell you", he closed the living room door, disappearing through the corridors. you went from the fridge to sitting on the couch, trying not to think too much about what he said "Hope he felt better when he comes back" you thought again.
Eddie couldn't see anything in front of him, his vision too blurred by the tears pooling in his eyes. As soon as Eddie's feet hit the street it was like his world was spinning around him, He rested his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath while his cell phone kept vibrating in the back pocket of his jeans.
"Hey harrin"
"So you found out?" the tone of Steve's voice caused Eddie to snort
"yeah, yeah I found out, she has a fucking boyfriend! Steve what the fuck?! She didn’t even told me" Steve cut him mid sentence
 "Oh! come on Munson, the girl has loved you since high school, now that she's moving on are you mad?" silence on the other end of the line
"You know what, I remember you said you wanted her to get someone nice and she did", Steve said, bringing up topics from a conversation they had years ago
"Now I hope you're not an asshole and let her have her moment"
"I love her" Eddie said, still standing in front of your building, fingers pressing down on the bridge of his nose, as if he'd been spilling some secret
"oh! no shit Munson, it took you all this time to figure it out?Now I get the 3 times in high school! You had what? 10 fucking years to figure it out and now that she finally looks happy you want to tell her that? AND WHAT? you have a turnê next week, low blow dude" Eddie hung up the phone without bothering to listen to the rest of Steve's sentences.
Eddie didn't know if he should go back and face the consequences of perhaps the biggest mistake of his life. He could handle losing his fame, his band and even money if you were there to support him. He couldn't bear to lose you, there would be no life or peace or joy in a world without you, you were that for him.
Your cell phone vibrated as you searched for a movie that would make the metalhead feel like a teenager again, like you were feeling at that moment.
"I have something to do, don't wait me up"
you felt paralyzed for a few moments after reading his message, staring at the light that irritated your eyes, only able to lock your cell phone and walk to the balcony to smoke a cigarette.
Fat tears started to run down your face, you felt used, another one of Munson's girls. Some part of you believed that he felt the same thing as you, that after years and months of distance he also missed you like you missed him. You finished your cigarette in silence and took the walk of shame to his room, which still smelled like his expensive cologne.
While you stayed inside your bubble of self-suffering and pity, Eddie waited in the cold and empty waiting room of an animal intensive care unit, even though he didn't have any animals to consult with. He searched all the rooms until he found the Doctor in a conference room, looking at his cell phone in agony.
"Hey doc! Can we talk?" Eddie asked, already entering and closing the door behind him, crossing his arms over his chest as he stared at the unsuspecting Doctor."Oh! It's everythi.." and before he finishes "Do you love her?" Eddie spit at the non reacting doctor, while the doctor's cell phone kept vibrating in his already shaking hand. "What did you do?" he asked hatefully to Eddie, while watching your photo at his phone screen as he tried to call you.
Stranger Things: Clementine
A/N: This is so scary to me as I’ve been working on this for a crazy long time! Unfortunately, I understand that a lot of people aren’t fans of Original characters but I just find the concept of it a lot more inclusive, and I can take more inclusive liberties with my character! No mentions of hair, skin, eye colour etc, just a name. As a Scottish girl imagining myself casually in Hawkins is strange and I usually find it better to envision myself playing a character I can become attached to. I love this character, and I hope she becomes as close to your heart and she is to mine. Steve slow burn.
Summary: Clementine Chase, a classic high school girl in Hawkins is suddenly faced with the mystery surrounding a missing boy.
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: The Vanishing of Will Byers
“Thanks again for helping me out here, Clementine. I really appreciate this.”
“I don’t mind,” I smiled, dragging a cloth over the surface of the kitchen counter. “Its all my mess anyways.”
Normally this mess was created while trying to entertain the group of 12 year olds I’ve babysat a couple of times but tonight, they were playing some nerdy board game the last ten hours. They’d begun this far before I’d arrived, so the mess tonight was my own.
I’d attempted to make the boys some sandwiches near 2PM. I’d been there for an hour and not once had any of the kids come up from the basement yet. Serves me right since I didn’t actually need to be there until it got dark.
It was around 6PM when Nancy had walked through the front door, more than surprised to see me. She’d froze half way through the door, and I looked at her with a daring smirk.
“Have fun today, Nancy?”
“Just… a little.”
I knew what that meant. Her tiny grin told me all I needed to know. Steve was in my circle of friends, after all. How could I not know what was going on behind the scenes?
The story had gone that Steve Harrington, King Steve had taken a shine to Perfect Nancy Wheeler. How long would it last, would everyone know if they were to go all the way?
It had been about two weeks. Everyone knew about it. Still, I wasn’t quite sure what the official story was. Is this a silly little thing or are they genuinely interested in one another?
I was only let in on this before the weekend, and had only decided to let my bitterness go so I had a ride to school tomorrow.
Seeing her come home while I was babysitting her brother wasn’t so awkard, not as awkward as it could be anyway. But I could always sense she wasn’t quite as relaxed as I’d like her to be around me. We didn’t generally run in the same circles, but who was I to care?
By 8PM when Mr and Mrs Wheeler came home with Holly, Nancy was clearing her snacks off the kitchen counter we’d been leaning against, unwilling to let her parents into the gossip we’d been sharing.
“I’m going to study before bed, so I’ll see you in school tomorrow, Clementine.”
“She’s got Kaminskys test,” I cleared up as Ted made a bee-line for the TV. Karen nodded, heading out to take Holly to her bed.
When she was back, I’d already had my coat on, clearing the mess I’d made with a damp rag.
The last time I was here ended the same.
Clearing up the days mess while Karen practically pried me away from the cloth with a, “you’ve done enough, I’ll handle the mess.”
Though I’ve not listened yet.
I smile cheekily as the kids loud voices upstairs as they yell tensely from the basement. I meet Karen’s eyes, and . “Those kids will be wanted home about now. I could walk them out before I overstay my welcome.”
She looked down at her own watch, noting the time. It was already reaching eight fifteen.
“Mike! …Mike!” She yelled, coming back to the kitchen area. She waits patiently with a hand on her hip, but the boys voices just get louder as they chat on top of one another.
“Mike!”
She walked towards the basement door, and swings it open without an other seconds thought.
And from there, I can just slightly hear Mikes voice over the others.
“Mom! We’re in the middle of a campaign!”
“You mean the end.” She taps her watch, meaningfully. “Fifteen after.”
Mike runs up the stairs, and catches my eye when he sees me, a look of confusion.
“How long have you been here?”
I could have choked on my own scoff. That basement is playing with his head.
“Uhh, all day? I made you guys your lunch? Ordered pizza and brought it down for you like an hour ago for dinner?”
He shook his head, probably an attempt to clear his already empty brain.
“Mom, just 20 more minutes!”
“It’s a school night, Michael, and I just put Holly to bed. You can finish next weekend.”
“That’ll ruin the flow–
“Michael–
“I’m serious, mom! It took two weeks to plan! How was I supposed to know it’d take ten hours?”
“Oh, no, it’s the end of the world as we know it!” I teased, ignoring his furious look.
“You can continue it later.”
Mike regards us with an ignorant look and rounds the corner to where Ted is attempting to watch the TV, which is still mostly static.
The storm from earlier on really had to have done a number on the electronics.
“Dad, don’t you think that–
“I think you should listen to your mother,” he interrupted, lazily, moving to hit the top of the TV. “Piece of junk…”
I bite back a laugh, and move to ring out the dish towel. I should have called Steve in advance. Though, I should count my blessings; I’d rather take the short walk down a few blocks than sit in a smoke filled car in the company of two of the biggest bullies I’ve ever known, Tommy and Carol, who would invite themselves along again.
“It was great to have you. But you don’t have to stay to clean up after we’re home, you know,” said Karen as I shrug my coat on.
“I know I don’t have to. I just feel a lot better about it. It’s a thousand times better than sitting in my dads house with no one to talk to or nothing to do,” I admit, matching Dustins wide grin as he approaches, pizza box in hand as the kids all fan out into the kitchen.
“Clementine! Want one?” He opens the box to show two decent sized slices of pizza left. “Was sausage and pepperoni your idea?”
“Sure was. And it looks amazing, but have you offered anything to Nancy?”
“I did, but she just shut the door in my face. There’s been something seriously wrong with her ever since she started dating that… douchebag, Steve.” He looked over his shoulder, making sure Mikes parents were out of ear shot, and once he was in the clear, he brought his voice back up. “Plus you’ve been stuck with us all day.”
“Yeah, he can be a douche,” I laugh, taking a slice from the box and taking a huge bite.
“She used to be cool...”
“She’s just a teenager. Trust me, I’d know,” I settled with a firm nod.
Teenagers can be mean to kids, but I’ve seen Nancy in school, as innocent as can be. Like a tiny, smart fish in a big, stupid pond.
We cut the conversation short when the rest of the boys begin to gather around with their jackets and bags, ready to turn in to their own beds.
“Alright, come on.” I nod them along and open the front door, and they race out towards their bikes. “Thanks for having me.”
“Thanks for watching the boys,” says Karen as I close the front door behind us.
It wasn’t the coldest of nights, but there were still small puffs of condensation with every exhale of the November night. I patted Mike on the shoulder as he stood to see all his friends off.
“Get home safe, guys, no detours,” I half-joked.
These kids were good, but they were still kids.
They waved me off as they picked up and adjusted their bikes, and I made my way back home, more than ready to turn in.
I savoured my nights at the Wheelers. Really, I did. Whether I was there to look after Mike (sometimes all his friends too), or just there for dinner as a thank you for doing so.
For my house was just empty.
I mean it was empty all the time. When I wasn’t home I was at Steve’s, but ever since he’d begun to pursue Nancy, I’d always wait until there was a group of us, just out of respect. Same went for calling him up in the morning or at night just to talk about whatever had been going on in life.
So, really my options this morning were to watch TV with breakfast until my ride came, or to rush breakfast and walk.
I sighed, turning off the waffle maker just in time for the phone to ring.
My father had already left, so I picked up the landline in the kitchen, and held the phone between my ear and shoulder as I put my breakfast together.
“Chase residence,” I sing-songed in practiced tones. “Dad has already left for the office, can I take a message for you?”
“Hi, Clementine.”
I quirked my brow the minute I heard the voice. Joyce Byers whose son I had watched over just last night. Except this morning she sounded particularly anxious. “Will didn’t stay with you and your dad last night, did he?”
Why on earth would we have a 12 year old stay the night without letting his mother know? “No… Joyce, he left with the boys last night. He lives pretty close to Dustin, I know they ride the same way. I could call his house?”
“I-I’ll call. Thank you. Really, I think he just left early for school…”
I certainly wasn’t convinced. But I let her go anyway, and continued my morning as normal, not thinking much of the call. I had my fair share of surprise sleepovers at Wills age.
I’d already switched off the TV and washed my dishes by the time I heard the BMWs beeping horn outside.
I rushed out, locking the door behind me.
Tommy, the infamous dick of Hawkins was already yelling out the window towards me, lit cigarette hanging from his lips.
“Move your ass, Clementine!”
“Tommy, put that shit out! I told you a million times that I’m not going to be hotboxed by your smoke.”
If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a thousand times, but it always came back to the same argument.
“Those are the rules,” Steve defended with a shrug as I slid into the back beside Carol who offered me a stick of gum. “She doesn’t like smoke, you can manage the length of a car ride.”
“So prudish, Clementine~”
Carol teased.
I rolled my eyes and adjusted my seatbelt with a huff. “What’s the point on spending some amount of money on perfume just to smell of cigarettes before I’m even in first period?”
“Like money’s an issue,” Carol continued.
Fine, it wasn’t. But I’d still like to smell like the Love’s Baby Soft perfume I’d paid for. “Whatever.”
“Your perfume’s way too sweet anyways. And you’re still alright for coming over tomorrow, right? My old man’s out of town on a conference, and…”
“Yeah, yeah. The beers are on me, don’t worry. I’ve got it covered, you dick.”
“See, you drink but you won’t smoke,” Tommy scoffed. “The hell’s that about?”
I could waste my time bickering or I could simply shut up. But that wouldn’t be fun in the slightest.
“If you want to get sick and die, do it on your own time. You already look sallow and sunken, just don’t inflict that on me.”
“I look what?” He shot back, neck strained to look back at me. “Say that again, Clementine.”
“Oh, I’m just teasing!”
“You know you just piss me off when you start this shit!” He was seething. Best way to piss a guy like him off was to bruise his ego, that much was clear. And not to brag but I had years of practice under my best. It had yet to get old.
“If you don’t like my teasing, why are you moaning so much?”
“Listen to me, you little bitch-“
“Hey!” Steve yelled. “Don’t talk to her like that, alright? How you’re still friends at all is beyond me. Just shut up, and enjoy the ride.” He switched on his radio where Michael Jackson instantly blasted, and suddenly the ride was somewhat enjoyable.
Our daily procedure for the past two weeks was for me to give Steve an out to meet with Nancy. Sometimes that involved guarding the girls bathroom by standing outside, making up excuses.
“I told you, it’s a mess in there! There’s literally a tapeworm climbing up the wall, I swear…”
And of course people knew I was guarding a hookup. Probably even that it was Steves, but everything I knew about Nancy Wheeler told me the last thing she’d want is to be walked in on making out with a boy against the wall of the ladies toilets, even if stories of their dating life was floating around the school.
The other two didn’t quite get it. They couldn’t understand why he’d waste all his time chasing after a complete square who probably doesn’t even put out.
I mean that’s all he’s usually after, and they’ve all been okay with it.
But Steve was a friend. I was just happy he was finally after a girl worth his time. Nancy was nice, smart, and it made for a pleasant change.
Steve has dated tonnes of girls. They never lasted, and he never cared. He was a man of pure sexuality. But something was different about Nancy Wheeler… I could tell.
I knew her well enough what with being at her house every month or so.
What do you think our topic of discussion last week when I was paid to appear twice?
It’s the reason she’d offer a small, secretive smile as she exits the bathroom, and i’d return it with a sly nod.
Just like any normal day.
A normal school day also includes suffering through Steve and Tommy playing basketball until they knackered themselves out. Though, the athletes they are, it took them a while every time, so we would always keep ourselves occupied on the bleachers. It was a routine, one that I was about to invite disruption to as I held open the doors to the gym.
Nancy walked with her books against her chest as she talks with her friend, an almost ethereal floating opposed to stepping as she heads for the buildings exit.
“Hey, Nancy, c’mere!” I yelled out before I stopped to think that I might startle her.
She freezes and finds my eyes, startled as expected. “Hurry! Coming, Barb?”
Barbara was a tall girl. She towered above the rest of us, but she was hardly given a second of notice. I hadn’t paid much attention to her myself until Nancy took this position in the group. At the call of her name she looks shocked. It’s not that I didn’t usually try to involve Barbara, she’s Nancys best friend after all, and since Nancy was invited into the social group it only made sense to include Barbara too.
Except Nancy had always been popular in the subtle kind of way. Her trademarks were being pretty, smart and kind, and everyone wants that even if girls like Carol gave her a hard time. They liked her anyways, at least a little.
“Hurry where?” Nancy gave an unsure smile, still standing what felt like a mile away.
“To watch your boyfriend play basketball, duh!” I teased, pushing the door open as the pair approached. “You can sit with us, we’ll go out to Bennys after?”
The two turn to each other, but whatever Barbara was trying to get across to Nancy wasn’t delivered to me. Nancy then turns to me with an enthused smile.
“Sure! Sounds fun.”
With a grin, I lead them to our spot on the bleachers, trying to stay aware of how different these two were to the girls who watch us approach with weary looks on their faces.
“Are you lost?” Sneers Becky with a cruel laugh. As if I’m unaware that I had two girls trailing behind me.
Carol turns to push her, playfully. “She’s our friend!”
I motion for the pair to sit wherever they felt comfortable, and they sat a little far for my liking, huddled together as though I wouldn’t have their back if someone were to be snide.
“Yeah, be nice, you dick. You know Nancy, Steve’s girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend?” Nancy spoke wearily, but she went ignored. It wasn’t my intention to push her, but Steve generally rolled that way, and I saw it as an inevitability.
“Oh, Nancy! I heard about that. Must be really different for you, huh?” Becky started.
She was one of three of Steve’s exes that were currently present. None of them truly seemed to mind when the boy moved on. They all had their turns and they all had their shot in the limelight.
Nancy doesn’t seem to understand the workings of this, appearing more shy than usual, eying the tonnes of magazines, packets of gum and cigarettes splayed across the bleachers.
“She’s doing fine,” I said, picking up the Just Seventeen magazine that caught my eye. “Did you catch this? It only launched for the first time last month, look at its first issue!”
I tilted the magazine towards Nancy and Barb, pointing out the ad for Tri-Ac.
“I’m breaking in on my chin something nightmarish, but they say Madonna uses it.”
“No!” Said Nancy, kindly, analysing my face. “No, I don’t see anything.”
“It’s because she’s wearing so much makeup,” Laurie spoke up.
I rolled my eyes, unable to deny this fact.
“Shut up, Laurie,” Carol sighed. “Barb, you’d look so cute in these!” She yelled, pointing out the latest male fashion trends down the side of one page. “It shouldn’t be too far out of your comfort zone.”
I turn to look at the girl in question. She looks at a loss of what to say, and Nancy is no better.
“Go polish your reebok, Carol,” I remarked.
“Go, Steve!” Becky whistled, watching his bare chest rise and fall as he sweats, actually drawing our attention to the game we barely paid much attention to anyways.
“Put that shirt back on!” I yelled.
The game went on for another painful hour, and by the time they were done my stomach had begun to growl.
After a short-lived argument over who won, the boys hopped into the (well needed) showers, and we left.
“I’m going to get the biggest burger you’ve ever seen, I could eat a horse,” I groaned, mouth watering at the very thought.
Bennys hadn’t been much of a tradition, but rather a routine. Steve had made a point that it’d only been him, myself, Carol, Tommy and Nancy. And Barbara as I’d gently remind him. He thought that inviting the likes of the other girls in the group would be disrespectful, and I clapped his back for it.
Usually though, we’d have brought as many of our friends that we could fit over two booths. I think I prefer what we’ve had going in lately if I’m honest.
As we walked towards the parking lot, ready to pile into Steve’s car, Nancys voice cut through all the jeering.
“Hey, you know, my mom will be wanting me home around now. She puts a dinner out every night and-“
“You’re not coming?” Steve interrupts, stalking close towards her.
He ducks his head so his face is closer, and brings his voice down. “Come on, we won’t be there long, promise.”
She looked rather awkward, eyes on Steve’s hand that rested on her arm.
“I shouldn’t.”
“It’s fine, they can join us another time!” Carol smiled, voice dripping with sarcasm.
“Yeah, for now, I think we’ll survive without them,” Tommy adds.
“Not sure that I will,” I muttered. Though I know it’s best that the pair go home. Why should they make themselves uncomfortable? Plus, Carol and Tommy weren’t exactly solid company. “Guys, it’s fine. Seriously, we have plenty of time to hang out. Go on home,” I told.
Nancy watched me, unsure at first, then she looks back to Steve.
“I’m sorry.”
He nods, then pulls her in for a kiss. It was soft, tender.
I wasn’t too sure where they stood, whether they were meant to be a secret or not. This little moment between them cleared that up for me, and I smirked to myself.
Nancy appeared to feel the same, a shocked grin she tried to hide.
“Want us to puke? Come on, Romeo!”
Tommy blanched.
“Shut up, stupid. Let’s go, lover boy,” I butted in just as Nancys embarrassed gaze fell to the ground of the parking lot. “See you guys tomorrow.”
“Wait,” Steve interrupts, pulling Nancys stare back to him with his hands evidently magnetic eyes. “I’ll still see you later tonight, won’t I? Alone?”
I note Barbara’s shocked expression.
Clearly, Nancy didn’t let her in on this little plan. We, on the other hand, heard about their little meet up as soon as we were in Steve’s company.
“Yeah,” she smiled. “To study.”
I truly didn’t know Nancy well enough to understand whether she meant this or not. Knowing Steve, even if she did mean this, he might just try and sway her to do a little more than studying.
“To study,” I echo with a nod. “Let’s move it!”
And with reluctance, the pair were able to part ways.
We could have still had fun at Bennys like we normally did. But my mind slipped into somewhere I hadn’t expected. Something I didn’t remember until about halfway through taking my seat next to Carol.
“We should invite Nancy to yours tomorrow, right?” I asked, still rationing the contents of my burger around the table. Benny once reminded me I could order it without the pickle or the onion but why waste food when I could feed annoying teenage boys?
Steve perks up with a huge sigh of relief.
“Yes, Clementine. Absolutely, we should! And you know why?”
“So you can have sex and find out if she has a vagina?” Tommy remarked, earning a chuckle from Carol followed by an obnoxious wink.
“What, it’s weird for a girl who’s barely 16 to be a virgin now?” Steve challenged, flinging the spare pickles into his burger. “Not everyone’s been banging since they were 12.”
“I know that, douche bag,” Tommy retorts, an embarrassed flush on his cheeks. I’ve come to learn that he’s rather proud of his sex life. So it’s easy to figure that his shamefaced defensiveness was more about Steve shutting him down. “I’m just saying every other girl has at least kissed someone. She’s not kissed anyone besides you. Either she’s a wasteland or… just a tease.”
I shudder annoyingly at the slow grin that pulls at his lips, turning to Carol.
“How do you let him near you with that mouth?”
“That’s for me to know,” she laughs, sending him a wink across the table.
“You guys are disgusting.”
“Okay, little miss perfect. Lost your touch or something? When was the last time you even had a boyfriend?” Carol jabs, eyeing me up with a playful malice.
“Can’t lose your touch if you’ve never been in the game,” I countered, having never actually had a boyfriend. I crossed my arms feeling pleased with myself and hopeful that Carol would be off my back as suddenly as she was on it.
“You dated Reed!”
Steve started, suddenly on me too.
“Yeah, for like two weeks! He wasn’t my boyfriend,” I squeaked. Although being that intimate with someone in the same group wouldn’t be too strange. I mean just look at Steve and his exes.
“But you got with him at my party.”
“You had sex on Carols bed, didn’t you?” Steve smirked.
“Oh, my God!” I groaned, gripping my hair dramatically. “That was Kieran, and there was no bed sex!”
“Nah, come on now, that was actually pretty bad.” Steve attempted to come to my aid, waving off the others as if he didn’t bring it up. “Don’t you remember what he did?”
“No, wait, shut up. I thought you guys dated for a while,” Carol drawled in thought.
“Oh my God!” Tommy laughs so loud that it startles Carol. “That was all fake, to made Kieran jealous. No one told you?”
“No!”
I’d have felt guiltier, but I couldn’t hold back the bubbling giggles even with a hand pressed against my mouth. All this time, and my best friend thought I’d had a whole relationship that never existed.
“Why do you think we’re still friends after he ‘dumped me’ for Laurie? Thanks for that, by the way,” I jabbed, still a little bitter about the situation.
I was so close, he was back in my clutches. But Steve just had to see what Laurie had to offer instead of helping a friend in need. Not only did he not help like he promised, but now it looks like I was dumped for another girl, and that I’m still friends with the dude who did it.
It’s hard to see the situation in a negative light now after all this time. Especially since I lost interest in Kieran a whole while ago.
“I can’t believe you never knew!” Tommy guffawed, shaking Carols arm to tease her. Her face remained stony, showing no interest in making this a laughing matter.
“Well, no one told me!”
“Whatever,” he shrugs with a mouth full of food. “We’ve been here ages, it’s getting dark soon.”
Steve stuffed the last of his fries into his already full mouth.
With a united murmuring (Carols being a little too sharp) we begin to clear our table, all of us picking up the shakes we’d left aside to bring home, a habit we shared between us due to the distraction we caused each other.
Except when we piled into Steve’s car that night, everything was suddenly far from normal, and we hadn’t had a clue.
I was driven home, said goodbye to my friends, and walked into to a quiet house.
Only my dad was there, worrying his hands at his place on the couch. That was until he saw me at the door. He was on his feet in a flash, bee lining his way towards me.
He still wore his dress trousers and a smart purple shirt.
His brief case had been abandoned by the coffee table.
“Dad? Shouldn’t you be at work still?”
I wracked my brain, trying to make sense of his presence, checking my watch, making sure I had the date right.
“Clementine! I came home as soon as I heard, I just wanted to make sure you got home safe, and when I saw you weren’t here, I got worried.”
I’d never seen him in such distress. I’d kept my gaze on him as I dumped my school bag on the floor. “We got some milkshakes after school… but, dad, what are you talking about? You came home as soon as you heard what?”
He froze for a second, his gaze suddenly sympathetic. “I thought you would have heard by now? The Byers kid… he’s missing.”
And just like that, my heart wrenched.
I watched him the night before, he went home alone, and his mother called me only just this morning.
“Missing? He can’t be missing, dad. He didn’t just stay at Dustins?”
I don’t know why it was hard to believe. I’d just never heard of someone I knew disappearing before. Will was always quiet, very rarely said a word to me besides a Please or a Thank you. But I knew him, I knew that little boy.
“Afraid not, sweetie. Nobody knows what’s happened quite yet, but until we do, you’ve to get a lift to school and back, alright, and no detours. Straight home, no adventures, no outings, no grabbing milkshakes.”
“Yeah, yeah, okay, fine,” I nodded.
Tomorrow he’d be back to work the hours he usually was, and wouldn’t care less where I was as long as I was with friends. But I wouldn’t risk bringing it up now.
“That’s my girl. What do you say we put two nice mugs of hot chocolate on? I’m sure we can figure it out.” He whisks himself away to the kitchen and I just blink to myself.
“Yeah! Yeah, should be fun…”
Steve calls the house just as the cops settle into the livingroom that night. They’d come by to question me under my father’s watch.
They waited patiently as I promised I’d be off the phone in two seconds, taking the call in the hallway where they could see me incase I raised any suspicions.
“What do you want?” I said flatly.
I could practically see Steve as he scoffed, hand pulling away from his hair he was probably fixing in the mirror.
“Nice to talk to you too, Jesus.”
“Sorry, but seriously, what do you want?”
He exhaled loudly on the other side of the phone, voice becoming whiny.
“Nancy called. She says she’s under house arrest ‘cause of that missing kid.”
I turn to look over my shoulder towards the room my dad kept the cops company. But I couldn’t bring myself to tell Steve that they were here. Though I wasn’t worried. He didn’t even care enough to ask why I was basically whispering.
“Okay? What do you want me to do?”
“Convince me to do something stupid? I want to see her.”
Shit, that’s sweet.
I screw my eyes shut, knowing I’m about to give some stupid advice, just like he knows I will. I could be more stupid about it, so let’s cut me a break.
“Then see her. You’re not new to sneaking into bedrooms,” I shrugged, as if he could see me doing it. “Just don’t make her uncomfortable.”
“Why would I make her uncomfortable?”
He sounds offended, but he’s now heard exactly what he wanted to hear,
“If she wasn’t planning to have sex with you in the first place tonight, being in her personal space and trying to screw her is even worse.”
“I know, I know! Kaminskys test is coming up for her, I’ll help her study.”
The smile in his voice made my heart flutter. It’s like reading a romantic novel. But I know if I tell him how amazing it is to see him learning about what’s going on in Nancys life he’d take the huff and hang up the phone.
“You’re the devil, Steve Harrington,” I sigh.
“You’re the best, Clementine Chase!”
Then the dial tone.
It takes a good hour to let the cops know everything that went on that night. And then I found I was just repeating myself over and over again.
“I told you everything I know, already.”
It stands to reason I’d be questioned a little more intensely since I was one of the last to see Will. It was all unwinding just a little too quickly for me, and I felt as though I could never settle. Just a few hours ago I was enjoying shakes with my friends, laughing and making jokes about anything and everything.
Now here I was being interrogated in my own living room.
“We just want to make sure you’re not missing anything,” spoke the cop with the moustache. “You were one of the last to see him.”
I sighed, and the other, slightly more competent cop cut in. “I know it’s a little frustrating Miss. Chase. We’d just like to make sure we’ve not missed anything. Did he ever show signs of being unhappy? He fit in okay?”
I stopped to think for a second, feeling the pressure of the two looking down at me from my place on the couch.
Will was the quietest of Mikes friends, mostly timid.
“He’s really close to Mike Wheeler. He looks out for him since his friends are… you know, they always kinda picked on him.”
“They pick on him?” The second cop took to writing in his notes.
“I guess. They’re great kids but the Byers boy is sort of the runt. They kinda comment of his shoes, mimic things he says… he’s a little more… sensitive, you know?”
Thinking back on every interaction with Will, he was definitely the peewee, laughed at and teased. He wasn’t like the other boys. But what these cops were getting at wasn’t sitting right with me.
“But he’d never run away. He trusts them, his family loves him. When it comes down to it, they all have his back.”
He considers this for a moment, eventually nods and closes his note pad.
He folds his arms with a deep breath.
“We haven’t come to a near conclusion yet. Let us know if you remember anything else. Thank you, sir,” he says, nodding towards my dad who stands up to lead the pair out the door.
They need to find that boy in one piece.
He was just so small, a mouse among cats. He’d barely ever spoken a word to me, just always a polite smile, and an excited nod to whatever story the boys were telling me that night.
How could this all happen so fast? I thought, head buried in my hands as my dads weight sank into the couch beside me.
I felt his hand on my back. He was unsure how to break the silence, that much was for sure.
I lift my head to look at him, and he stills, waiting.
“I really hope he’s alive, dad.”
He leans over, planting a kiss on my forehead, grunting when the phone rings again. “If that’s one of your friends, tell them to make it quick. You’re in no headspace to be gossiping.”
I nod, knowing full well I wouldn’t be able to bring myself to chat away as if I wasn’t feeling sick to my stomach anyways.
I pick the phone up, not bothering to take the call in the hallway for privacy. Prepared to hear Carol, maybe even Tina or Steve, I froze at Mike Wheelers voice on the other end.
“What do you think happened to Will?”
What the hell is going on on this night?
I risk a glance at my dad to find he’s watching me with worry.
“I’m-“
“Did anything weird happen when you watched him ride off?”
“Umm, no.” I stand up, and walk a little further from my dad’s listening ears. “I’m sorry, I don’t know anything.”
“Meet us in ten.”
“What? Where?”
I should have asked why. Said no. Convinced him not to go anywhere. Why didn’t I?
“Mirkwood”
“What the hell is that?”
“Where Cornwallis meets Kerley!” He stressed, quickly. “Just meet us there!”
“No! Are you stupid?” I argued, not bothering to control my voice in front of my dad.
Who knows what’s out there right now.
“We’re going with or without you, Clementine. So suit yourself.”
Then that was it. He’d slammed the phone down, and left me helpless.
I turned to my dad, weighing my options.
I could tell him, then he’d involve the police and intervene with the kids plans to endanger themselves. Or I could accompany them myself, and have them still like me by the end of it.
I know what I should do.
Why don’t I tell him?
Because I’m feeling stupidly loyal to the group of boys who probably just want someone to talk to after hearing about their best friend disappearing.
“What on earth was that about?”
I don’t move for a long moment, blinking stupidly.
“Just Tommy! Carols birthday is coming up and his gift ideas are just shocking. But It’s his problem, so I’m gunna turn in.”
I yawn loudly and stretch a little more dramatically than I should have, hoping that would be enough
Luckily for me, I was allowed to make it upstairs without him following behind me.
What the hell was I doing?
I pushed all my thoughts from my head as I shrugged on my closest corduroy coat.
This is crazy, Clementine!
I cuss myself out when I open bedroom window, all too familiar. Except tonight I wasn’t climbing out to talk to a boy, or go to a party, or stay at Carols. Tonight I was meeting a bunch of kids in hopes they wouldn’t get themselves lost when I really should be telling someone about the whole situation.
But all they want is to feel like they’re doing something to help find Will…
“Oh, hell.”
By the time I reach the location they’d asked to meet at, all of them had arrived, bikes in tow. The tree line was covered with police tape. I felt my stomach drop as all four kids turned at my approach.
“What’s this all about?” I asked, arms folded lowly on my chest. “You know it’s a bad idea to be out here.”
“Exactly, yet Will is stumbling around here somewhere.”
Jesus Christ. As harsh as it is, there’s not a lot of land in Hawkins. It’s incredibly difficult to try and imagine that he’s not so far away right now.
With a sigh, I lean in close to Mike.
“So you think this is the answer? What if-“
What if he’s not out there? What if he was kidnapped?
But I couldn’t bring myself to say that to them. Mike blinks back, eyes doe-like and innocent. Mismatched with his occasional bite.
“What if nothing, Clementine. All I know is that we have to find him.”
“He’s a vital part of the party!” Lucas chipped in. I half expected Dustin to join, but he hadn’t made a peep. “We can’t let him down.”
“He’d do it for any one of us,” Mike finished.
“But if you don’t want to come, you don’t have to.”
He’s challenging me, I know it.
I hold his gaze, narrowing my eyes. If he’s bluffing about going ahead without me, his expression doesn’t betray him.
“What makes you think I won’t just go to your parents? Or the cops?”
“You’d have done it already!” Told Lucas, waving an arm to make his point.
“And you want to help Will nearly as much as we do.”
Except that’s not the reason. The best way to help Will is by letting the police do their jobs. The real reason is that I just can’t bring myself to let them down.
“Ugh, fine!” I groan, pushing myself to stand upright. “But only this one time. And that goes for all of you.”
Without a nod of confirmation from Mike he turns on his flash light, paying no heed to the on-going storm.
Dustin, on the other hand, speaks for the first time since I arrived.
“Hey, guys. You feel that?”
His head is tilted towards the sky, and he’s soon wiping his cheeks. Sure enough, it’s begun to spit with rain. The last couple of nights had all been the same. So I let myself wonder how I could be stupid enough to have worn a jacket with no hood.
“I think maybe we should go back.”
“No.” Mike told, a demanding tone to his voice. “We’re not going back. Just stay close. Come on!” Then two two were off, leaving Dustin and I behind, staring at the treeline.
I look towards Dustin, who looks nearly frozen in fear.
“Stay on channel six,” Mike instructs. “Don’t do anything stupid.”
“This whole thing is stupid, Mike.” Making a last attempt to appeal, I eventually follow behind the pair, scared they’d wander a little too far away from my sight. When Dustin doesn’t take a step forward, I catch his eyes over my shoulder. “Come on, Dustin, stay close.”
And he scurries forward, dropping his bike among the rest. Then he ducks under the police tape, jogging to catch up.
God in Heaven above, we’re in so much trouble. No, I’m in so much trouble. I’m the oldest, I’m supposed to be the responsible one. But here I am, trailing along as the kids put themselves in harms way.
“You know there’s always time to turn back, don’t you? We could wait ‘til morning,” I tried, looking straight at Mike knowing he’ll answer for everyone.
He usually does.
“He could be hurt by morning!”
Mike marched ahead, flashlight shone in every direction.
I couldn’t argue. If he was safe, which I doubt, leaving it any longer would only increase the chances of him running into danger. Again, I didn’t voice these thoughts. it’s not like they’re stupid, they know as much as I do the possibilities deriving from Wills disappearance.
“And what am i supposed to do if someone jumps out from behind a tree and attacks one of you?” The scenario runs over and over in my head as the rain begins to fall heavier.
A masked kidnapper scooping one of the kids up, a crazed murderer chasing me away.
The heavier the rain became, the less sure I knew what I was hearing around me. The snap of every twig, the kicking of every rock under the kids feet, any of it could be danger in disguise.
I swallowed down the lump in my throat, speaking to Dustin between the shouting of Wills name.
“This is bad, you know. This could go so wrong, so fast.”
But instead of a reply from Dustin, I’m with with a dangerous glare from over Mikes shoulder.
He yells out for Will whose name echoes ominously around us.
“Byers!”
“I’ve got your X-men 134!” Dustin called out, letting out a shaky breath. “Guys, I really think we should turn back.”
Me and him both.
“Seriously, Dustin! You wanna be a baby, then go home already!” Lucas argues, and I don’t like the sound of it.
“Hey, no! If we’re doing something this stupid we’re staying together. We’re not sending each other off alone,” I warned.
“So no one leaves!”
This kid! Their will is greater than mine. I have no choice.
“I’m just trying to be realistic, Lucas!”
“No. You’re just being a big sissy!”
“Shut up!” I yelled above the pair. “I’ve been trying not to scare you, but have you got any idea what are you could be in these woods? And you’re attracting all this attention.”
“Case. In. Point.” Dustin continued, flashlight now beaming from tree to tree. “Did you ever think Will went missing because he ran into something bad?”
Like a bear, or a kidnapper or a murderer. Or a Martian.
“And now we’re following in those footsteps,” I agreed. “With only me to protect your asses!”
“Clementine, shut up!”
I look at Mike with wide eyes. “Wow!”
“Shut up, shut up…” he says now more softly.
He’s listening for something. “Do you guys hear that?”
I freeze, heart suddenly in my throat.
What are the chances it was Will Byers scuttling through the trees towards us, to safety?
The rustling is from our left!
Then our right!
And every flashlight in the group is being shone is every direction with every shake of every leaf.
But then it’s just a little too loud, and a little too close.
Four flashlights illuminate a person, and for a millisecond, I was scared.
But this wasn’t a threat.
This was a kid.
His eyes are glued to you.
They have been since he watched you pour just a little too much cherry vodka into your red plastic cup.
He keeps trying to catch your gaze across the smoky room, multicoloured lights clouding his vision. There's some sort of punk song playing through a stereo system somewhere, the beat of the guitar thumping through the wooden floorboards and into Steve's bones.
You're laughing, head thrown back at something Eddie has said. He's funny, Steve thinks. But not that funny. He watches carefully, refraining from intervening right up until the moment you almost trip over your own foot and into the curly haired boy. Steve's moving across the room before he can even process it.
"Cherry," he teases, hand snaking around your waist to hold you upright. "You okay?"
You turn in his hold to throw your arms around his neck, looking up at him with big doe eyes.
"Stevie."
You say his name so sweet that he stumbles and almost takes you down with him.
"You okay?" you giggle.
"I'm good. You good?"
"I'm good."
You sway with him for a second, closing your eyes and revelling in the warmth of his hands on the bare skin of your waist.
"You're a little tipsy, huh?"
"Just a little."
"You wanna go home?"
You chew on your lip for a moment, weighing up your options.
"Can we go to your place? I don't wanna face my parents like this."
Steve leans in to press a kiss to your forehead, brushing the hair back from your face.
"Of course. Let's go, hm?"
"Let me grab my jacket. I'll meet you by the door."
You slink off upstairs, leaving Steve alone with Eddie.
"Just friends," Eddie mocks under his breath quietly.
"What?"
"Nothin'."
Steve stares at his friend with a brow quirked, stormy look on his face.
"All I'm sayin' is - I don't look at my best friend like that. Don't hold 'em like you just did. Don't have sleepovers either."
"I've known her since we were kids. It's different."
"I've got friends I've known since kindergarten. I don't kiss them on the forehead."
"I wouldn't put it past you," Steve mumbles, finished with the conversation. "Whatever, man. You don't get it."
"Oh, I get it. You're in love. Steve and Cherry, sitting in a tree-"
"Don't call her that."
"See? You're defensive over her nickname, because you gave it to her. Don't be an idiot, Steve. Life's too short."
"Yours will be, if you don't shut up."
Eddie takes that as his cue, shaking his head as he leaves to go and complain about the music choice.
Steve meets you outside, chuckling when he sees you shivering as you hold your jacket.
"Cherry, put your coat on. You're freezing."
You look up at him, slightly bewildered, and he fights to keep the smile off his face. Taking it from your hands, Steve slips the jacket around your shoulders, hands skimming up your arms to warm you.
"Better?"
"Better."
You slip your hand into his and begin to walk away from the noise, finally taking a deep breath when you're down the street.
"You okay?"
"Yeah," you reply, nudging him with your shoulder. "Feet hurt though. Fuckin' shoes."
You both stop, Steve kneeling down in front of you to unbuckle your heels. You look at him questioningly and he winks, cheeky and full of love.
He slips them off your feet and sits down on the curb, taking his sneakers off and gesturing for you to step into them.
"No, Steve. I chose to wear these, it's my own fault."
"I know, and they looked cute. But now you're going to wear these."
You step into the shoes reluctantly, holding back tears when he kneels and ties your laces tightly. Rising to his feet, he presses a kiss to your forehead before intertwining your fingers again, picking up your heels with his other hand.
You're both quiet, as you walk. Neither of you needs to say anything. It's always been this way. Steve's not good with silence usually, but with you, it's more than comfortable. Sometimes, you'll sit for hours in his bedroom doing your own things, content to just know the other person is there.
"Minnie Lawson kept asking about you tonight."
You try to keep the disdain from your voice as best you can, praying Steve doesn't pick up on it.
He does. He doesn't mention it.
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
You keep walking, smiling occasionally when you catch sight of Steve's socked feet next to yours.
"What did she say?"
You mentally kick yourself for bringing it up, but take a deep breath and tell him anyway.
"Kept asking if you were single."
"And what did you say?"
"Told her she needed to ask you herself and that I'm not your secretary."
Steve cackles at this, loud and endearing. The sound makes you grin, whether you want to or not.
"Shit, Cherry baby. What did the girl ever do to you?"
"I didn't mind when she asked the first couple times, but the more she drank, the more she forgot. She couldn't remember if she'd already asked so kept asking again."
He laughs again, squeezing your hand where it still holds his tightly.
"She didn't talk to me."
"Didn't think she would."
He looks at you for a moment too long, your eyes meeting the floor to avoid his gaze.
"Mikey was asking about you tonight, you know."
You'd had a crush on Mikey in ninth grade, the summer after he'd gotten tall and started to look less like four walking limbs and more like a man. He was a nice guy, if not a little boisterous sometimes.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Said you looked pretty. Wanted to know if you were still with the Douchebag."
You chuckle at the hatred in Steve's voice at the mention of your ex boyfriend.
"And you said..."
"That he was in the wind, thankfully."
"Dodged a bullet with that one."
You lean into his arm, savouring the warmth of his skin you can feel through your jacket and his long sleeve shirt.
"Mikey wants to ask you out."
"Really?"
"Yeah, really. Is that so hard to believe? You're a catch, you know."
"I don't know. Boys like Mikey never look at me, usually."
"I look at you."
Your breath hitches in your chest. It's like your heart has forgotten how to beat.
"Yeah," you whisper. "But you're Steve."
After a moment, you add,
"My Steve."
You rest your head onto his bicep, still clutching his hand. He leans down to press a kiss into your hair, resting his cheek there for a moment.
"You're worlds apart from boys like Mikey, Steve. He's nice, but he's not you."
You're not sure where all this sudden truth is coming from, but you're wondering if the cherry vodka has maybe hit you a little harder than you first thought.
"And you and Minnie Lawson aren't even in the same league. You've got nothing to worry about."
You both process Steve's words, before he starts stuttering.
"I mean, not that you, not that - it's not like you were worried, I'm sure. I bet you weren't. I just mean... you know what I mean, right?
Thankfully, you do.
"I know what you mean. I always do."
He stops walking, turning to face you on the sidewalk, hand never dropping yours. You're not sure where you are, but you know Steve knows. He'll keep you safe. Always.
"Okay," he breathes.
"Okay," you breathe.
"I love you," he breathes.
"I love you," you breathe.
"I don't want you to date Mikey Carter," he breathes.
"I don't want you to date Minnie Lawson," you breathe.
You both inhale deeply, following the other person's lead.
"I can't stop thinking about the other night," Steve whispers, so quietly you'd have missed if it you weren't so in tune with him.
Your lungs constrict for a second, all the air leaving you at once.
"Me neither."
You're stood in the street whispering to each other, frightened you'll burst the bubble you've accidentally created.
"I feel bad," you confess.
"Why, honey?"
"Because I... I didn't return the favour. I just let you get into bed and fall asleep. Sorry."
Steve's hands come up to cradle your face, eyes searching yours as if he's reading his favourite book.
"I didn't want you to. I told you, it wasn't about me, it was about you. I didn't... I didn't initiate it so I could get something in return."
"Sorry."
"Stop apologising, Cherry. You've got nothing to apologise for."
"Sorry," you reply without thinking, causing both of you to double over into fits of laughter.
Steve wipes the happy tears from your cheeks, gaze never leaving yours. You look at each other for a moment, feeling the atmosphere shift. The world could collapse around you both, and neither of you would notice. It's just you and Steve. Nothing more, nothing less.
He leans in gently, pressing his lips to yours in a featherlight kiss. He tastes like beer and spearmint.
"You're wearing your lipbalm."
"You've been chewing your gum."
He chuckles, kissing you again softly.
"You wanna go home?"
"Please. You're in your socks, and I look like a clown."
He looks at your feet and laughs, the sound much too loud for the early hours of a Sunday morning.
"Let's go, Cherry baby. My warm bed awaits us."
The stars guide you home hand in hand, Steve stealing the occasional kiss when you happen to be looking in his direction. You kick off his shoes by the door, running straight up the stairs to change out of your uncomfortable dress. Steve stops by the kitchen to grab you both a glass of water, bounding up after you and spilling half the liquid in the process.
He stops in the doorway when he reaches his room, breath caught in his throat. You're stood in just your panties, bare back to him, rifling through his drawers to find the soft grey shirt you always steal.
It's a sight he's seen before. Something is different this time.
"Where is it?" you ask, not turning around.
You know he's there. You know he knows what you're looking for.
This is what love is, he thinks suddenly. The knowing. The unknowing. The knowing that the other person knows. The other person knowing that you know. Unspoken knowledge.
"Bottom drawer, left," he chokes out. "Washed it."
You slip it on and turn around, pouting. The boy quirks a brow at you in question.
"Doesn't smell like you. Smells like your detergent, but not you. Will you wear it, when I leave?"
"Yeah," he chuckles, fighting the blush from rising across his chest. "Anything you want, baby."
Steve shrugs off his clothes, slipping on a fresh pair of boxers before sliding into his side of the bed. You're in the bathroom, humming a tune that he can't quite place but knows he heard tonight. He watches you through the open door as you sway gently, ready to jump up and catch you if need be. You pee with the door still open, and Steve chuckles. It's like you've been married for twenty years.
"Can you please turn the fan on? I'm hot."
"Anything for you, Cherry Pie."
You jump into your side of the bed, sitting up to face the boy next to you. It might be 3am, but you're both wide awake, veins buzzing with endless possibility.
"I've been thinking," you murmur quietly.
"Never a good sign."
"Shut up."
You both laugh, and you can't help but grin. What a miracle, you think. To be alive at the same time as a boy like Steve Harrington. To know him. To love him.
"Will you let me return the favour?"
It's a vague question, but Steve knows exactly what you're asking. He chokes on his breath, tilting his head to look at you.
"Babe, you don't have to-"
"-I want to. So badly."
Steve inhales deeply, willing himself to calm down.
"I don't have to, if you don't want me to. But I can't stop thinking about the way you'd taste."
The boy thinks he's died and gone to heaven. Dreaming, maybe.
"Honey... fuck."
Steve nods, bottom lip caught between his teeth.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Please. Jesus."
He's breathing so frantically, you're worried he might pass out. The last thing you need is your best friend unconscious.
"Breathe, Stevie. It's just me and you."
"Me and you."
"Always."
He comes back down to Earth, so you lean in to kiss him, all tender and cherry flavoured. Tangling your fingers into his hair, you push him backwards so he's leaning against the headboard. You straddle his hips, plush lips pressing into his neck, his chest, his collarbones. Steve's practically melting, a puddle of love and affection beneath you.
"Let me take care of you," you whisper into his ear, and who is he to deny you when you ask so sweet?
You crawl down his body until you're situated between his legs, thick thighs bracketing you in. You kiss along the inside of the muscle, nipping as you go and revelling in the way he jumps and hisses. It's nice to be the one in charge for once.
You scratch your nails along the bulge in his boxers, smirking when his hips buck up into you. You think, for a moment, that you'd happily lie here and tease him like this for hours, just to see when he'd snap. But this isn't the time for games, so you store that thought for another day.
"This still okay?"
"More than okay," he replies, all breathy and ungrounded. You link your fingers with his and squeeze, and all his nerves melt away.
You don't let yourself begin to think about why he's nervous. You know Steve's a ladies man, you know he's done this many times... so why is it different with you? You wonder if maybe you should talk about it afterwards. You're not sure if either of you are ready for that.
Mouthing at him over his underwear, you hum in contentment at his warmth. He's always run hot, every part of him. It's one of your favourite things.
You hook your fingers into the waistband of his boxers and tug them down, throwing them onto the floor somewhere. The room is dimly lit by the lamp on the nightstand, the lightbulb casting shadows across Steve's slightly sweat damp skin. The fan acts as a soundtrack, white noise breaking up the silence.
You look at him and bite your lip, buzzing with anticipation. It's not like you haven't seen each other naked before, but it's different like this.
"Just... tell me what you like or what you don't like as I go along, okay?"
Steve smiles in adoration, running his thumb over your cheekbone gently.
"Okay."
You wrap your hand around him and curl your wrist, holding back a smirk when the boy whines. It's a pretty sound. You'd like to hear it again and again until he loses his voice.
Leaning in, you lick up the length of him, groaning at the salty musk. His taste, his scent, his sounds... it's all so Steve. He's the centre of your universe, everything around you just Steve Steve Steve.
Taking him fully into your mouth, a hand flies into your hair, tangling his fingers. He doesn't move you, just tethers himself to something real, something grounding. You take him as much as you can, working up a rhythm between your tongue and your hand. Steve's breathing as if he's just ran a marathon, chest heaving and lungs burning.
He finds his voice, suddenly.
"Oh fuck, baby."
"Shit, Cherry. Fuck, just like that."
"That's it, atta girl. Perfect girl. My girl."
"Oh, you're so good. So fucking good."
He tenses, fingers tightening in your hair once again.
"So close, baby. Don't stop. Please."
You double down on your efforts, twisting your wrist in that way you've figured out he likes as you hollow your cheeks and suck. The boy sees stars, vision going white.
The noise he lets out as he finishes will be forever engrained in your mind, a never ending symphony that no orchestra could ever recreate.
He goes lax, collapsing back against the bed as you swallow, never breaking eye contact. You stick your tongue out as proof and he groans, deep and gutteral.
"Kiss me," he chokes, too blissed out to move.
You crawl up his body and press your lips to his, squeaking in surprise when he slips his tongue into your mouth to taste himself.
"Filthy," you laugh, resting your forehead against his.
"You love it."
You shake your head, but can't wipe the grin from your face.
"I love you."
"I love you more."
After a second, you giggle.
"What's funny?"
"I'd like to see Minnie Lawson do that."
Steve laughs, loud and melodic in the low light of the room.
"She's got nothing on you, Cherry baby. No one does."
You process the words, heart stuttering in your chest.
"We should talk about this," you whisper.
"We will," he assures, tugging you into him so your head is resting on his chest. "Tomorrow."
Lines have been crossed, lives have been changed, but the stars above your heads remain the same. They'll always guide you back to Steve.
The lamp flickers, the fan hums, the crickets sing their night time lullabies.
The boy leans down to press his lips to yours. He tastes like cherries and every kiss for the rest of your life.
"Are you almost done? I'm hungry" Steve looked at you bouncing his leg, impatient.
"I told you i need to finish this essay, you can go if you want"
"I can wait" He looked at you, heart eyes at the sight of the most beautiful girl he has ever met.
"Just 30 minutes and i'm done" you kept your eyes focused on the book on your hands, making annotations to the pages.
You kept biting your lip, Steve's eyes couldn’t leave your face, your body. He wanted to kiss you, so bad, he wanted to be more than your friend and have you for him, only for him. Forever.
think *reader, steve, and eddie are three best friends who are way too touchy to be just friends, and getting high just makes it so much worse...* (aka, steddie shotgun session)
content warnings: getting high & makin out w steddie
Tumblr media
you lay in between steve and eddie, taking a drag from the joint, and holding the smoke in your mouth for a beat before exhaling slowly.
“princess, let me try something..” eddie says, gesturing for you to hand him the blunt as he sits up some.
you look up at him, and feel steve do the same, from his head's place on your chest, with his arm lazily wrapped around you. steve got extra touchy when he was high but you didn’t mind in the slightest.
eddie inhales slowly, while keeping eye contact with you. he motions you forward with his fingers and you quickly catch onto his goal.
you smile and sit up a little, to meet his lips. he holds your cheek and slowly lets the smoke past his lips and into your mouth. you hold it in your mouth and smile at him with heavy eyes.
“mm.. good girl- now give pretty boy a taste..” eddie mumbles with a smirk, jutting his chin up.
your eyes widen slightly as you look down at steve. he's completely out of it but still manages a loopy smile as he gazes up at you. you smile and grab his face, pulling him into you.
his eyes are wide as you press your lips to his and slowly blow the smoke into his mouth. he holds it for a bit before abruptly bursting into a coughing fit, making you giggle as you kiss his temple.
eddie passes you the water bottle to hand to him. steve slowly drinks from it before burrowing his face into your neck.
“good job baby..” you mumble, kissing his hand as he intertwines your fingers.
“alright hey- it was my idea..” eddie teases, rolling his eyes. you look up at him and giggle, making him smile. “cmere eds..” you breathe.
he leans down and kisses you slowly. you feel steve kiss your neck softly and smile. when you pull away from the kiss, you lay down again as eddie cuddles into your side after putting out the joint.
“my boys..” you slur, with a sleepy smile. you feel steve hum against you as eddie smirks again.
“mm.. imagine if nancy n rob caught wind of this one..” he laughs. “i would never hear the end of it..” you groan. steve giggles softly, and hugs you tighter.
“stevie.. let’s go put our pajamas on.. b’fore you fall asleep..” you say gently. “too tired..” he slurs against your neck. you sigh and sit up slightly, so he has to move his head. he groans and finally looks at you with his puppy eyes.
“cmon baby..” you whisper, pushing his hair out of his eyes. he nods and starts to stand up, stumbling in the process. you smile and sit up to help him, feeling eddie’s hand fall down your back as you stand.
the three of you are in steve’s house, so it's easy to find a sleep shirt and sweatpants for all of you.
“here eds..” you say softly, tossing him some pajamas. “thank you princess.” he says with a smile, as he takes his shirt off to start changing.
steve stumbles again and you catch him. “alright.. m gonna help you ok?” you say, looking at his sleepy red eyes. he nods slowly and lets you lift up his polo.
you pull on his sleep shirt and kiss his lips quickly, making him smile. you help him step out of his pants and giggle as he trips a little. you then help him step into his pajama pants, as he holds onto your shoulder to steady himself. you smile when he's successfully dressed.
“there we go..” you coo, kissing him one more time. he smiles against your lips and falls onto the bed, pulling you with him. you giggle and fall on top of him, deepening the kiss a little.
“oh you guys are cute..” eddie teases, only half joking. steve looks up at him and smiles dopily. you kiss his jaw quickly and just watch the two boys have their little stare off.
“why don’t you come down here munson..” steve speaks after a moment, his voice raspy from all the smoke.
oh.
eddie looks taken aback but quickly collects himself with a smirk before moving down to the end of the bed with the two of you.
“what’re you gettin' at, harrington?” he smirks, dangerously close to steve’s face. you just continue to watch as steve pulls him down into a harsh kiss. your eyes widen as you quickly get off of steve, so that eddie could have a better hold of him.
you watch the two makeout sloppily for a little before pushing your hands through eddie’s hair. “alright boys.. now i’m feelin a little left out..” you giggle. eddie is the the first to pull away, to look at you, leaving steve to chase his lips with his own red swollen ones.
eddie looks down at steve again and smirks.
“not bad pretty boy..” he teases. “mm..” steve hums, pulling him back into another kiss. you giggle as they move up the bed a little and eddie pulls you with them.
eddie kisses you passionately and runs his hands up and down you body. you glance down at steve who is just watching you makeout in complete awe.
“baby..” you coo, turning your head to kiss him slowly. he kisses you back hungrily and whimpers softly.
“harrrington you’re so cute when you’re all touchy like this..” eddie says softly, only a hint of teasing in his voice. steve moans softly and intertwines his fingers with eddie’s.
“dy'wanna kiss him?” you ask softly, already knowing the answer. “yeah- yes- please..” he breathes quickly. you turn both of their heads to face each other and look down at them as they smile at each other. “cmere..” eddie whispers, pulling steve in for yet another kiss.
you let them makeout for minutes on end until you both can tell steve is about to pass out from exhaustion.
“alright pretty boy.. time for bed.” eddie breathes, pulling away. steve pouts with those damn puppy eyes and eddie almost gives in, leaning in to give him another quick kiss. then eddie looks up at you as he sits up.
“princess.. go put on some pjs.. can't have you sleeping in that..” he says softly. you nod and kiss him quickly before getting up.
you throw on a big t-shirt and head back into bed after washing your face in steve's bathroom.
eddie is running his hands through steve’s hair as he dozes off and you smile. “aw.. my boys..” you coo, settling in between them. steve shifts slightly until he is comfortable again as eddie wraps his arm around you.
“pass me the water eds..” you whisper softly. he takes a sip and then hands the bottle to you. “stevie.. one more thing before you fall asleep. drink a little water..” you say so softly. he groans into your neck.
“baby c'mon.. please..” you say again. he slowly looks up at you and opens his mouth. you giggle and pour it slowly into his mouth, letting him swallow before pouring some more.
once he's had enough, you pass the bottle back to eddie with a kiss.
“goodnight sweetheart..” he whispers to you. “night baby..” you mumble with a smile.
“g'night pretty boy.” eddie says over you, to steve, reaching over to nudge him softly. “hmm.” steve groans.
eddie winks at you and lays back down. “night stevie..” you whisper, kissing his temple.
he's out.
eddie turns out the light and you quickly pass out in their arms.
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN | ❝𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆❞
Fall Semester 2015
He was your first real friend here. That felt pretty certain after just the first time you two hung out in his dorm room because your roommate was having sex in yours, and your other option would’ve been camping out in the library.
Maybe it hadn’t been the best idea to accept Eddie’s offer. You two were still pretty much strangers at that point and had only had one brief conversation in a broken-down elevator. However, somehow, it didn’t feel like a bad decision.
Over the last month of being in college, there had been no one else that you’d been able to hit it off so easily with. In ways, it reminded you of how friendships formed in elementary school— bonding over the most random of things and then promptly becoming the best friends for a week or two. This friendship with Eddie already felt like it would last longer than just a few weeks, though.
“What about California?”
You shook your head. “Ended up being too expensive.”
You two were settled on his floor and talking about what brought you both here, and you’d been surprisingly honest and admitted that you had really wanted to get out of your quiet hometown and had done everything you could to make that happen; applying to colleges in a bunch of different states, and then ending up here because it made the most sense in the end.
“What about you?” You asked, turning the question over to him.
“I wasn’t the best in high school, but I somehow got accepted here,” He told you and you nodded. “At first, I kinda didn’t wanna go, but my uncle was really adamant about it, so I did it. And it hasn’t been too bad so far.”
“Aside from the elevators that break down way too easily,” You joked, giving him a small smile.
He laughed a little. “Yeah, aside from that. But apparently, they're the best way to make friends.”
You nodded, laughing too. “Unconventional, but effective.”
Spring Semester 2018
It was a tangle of limbs and zero space— your head on Steve’s chest and an arm draped around his torso and his wrapped around you, keeping you close. The position itself was surprisingly comfortable but you were starting to feel way too warm.
You weren’t even entirely sure what time it was or when you and Steve had finally fallen asleep after talking and doing a bit more than talking throughout most of the night, but you could see that the sun was out and it didn’t feel as if you’d gotten more than four hours of sleep.
Instead of shifting out of the position, you simply pushed the blanket down off of you with your hand and leg that wasn’t entirely entangled with Steve’s because you refused to completely detach from him. The cool air hitting your bare legs immediately made you feel a thousand times better and you softly sighed in contentment.
“You okay?” You heard Steve sleepily mumble.
“Yeah, I was just a little warm,” You whispered back, eyes still shut as you attempted to lull yourself back to sleep.
“Sorry, are we too close?” He asked and started to pull away, but you quickly stopped him by pushing yourself further into your side.
“No, no, it’s okay. I like this.”
“Okay,” He said and you could practically hear the smile in his voice as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
That made you open your eyes and tilt your head upward to look at him. The sleepy smile on his face made you want to kiss him, and realizing that you could do that whenever you wanted to now warmed something inside you.
As if feeling your gaze, Steve’s eyes opened and he looked down at you. “You’re staring.”
You pushed up further so that you could press a kiss against his cheek. “You’re really cute.”
“And you say I’m the flirty one,” He said as his arms tightened around you and pulled you impossibly closer to him.
You shook your head, the smallest smile on your face. “I wasn’t trying to flirt, just stating a fact and giving you a very sweet compliment.”
“Okay, in that case, thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Steve shifted a bit, keeping you close but maneuvering so that he was on his side and facing you. You followed suit, moving a little and letting the side of your head fall against your pillow as you kept looking at him. He leaned in a little, nose softly brushing yours before closing all of the distance and pressing his lips against yours. One of his hands slipped beneath your t-shirt and gave your waist a squeeze, which made you hum softly into his mouth. You pulled back from the kiss after the briefest moment.
“Wait, I need to ask you something,” You said, eyes meeting his. “Do you like Monopoly?”
He let out a laugh. “That’s such a random question, but yeah. I can’t remember the last time I played it, though.”
“We finally played it again for game night and I kinda wished you were there,” You told him as you reached out to push a hand through his messy hair. “I had a feeling you would’ve gotten just as competitive as Robin.”
“I do get very competitive at Monopoly,” He nodded and then turned his head a bit so that he could press a quick kiss against your wrist. “I don’t know if we’d be able to survive it.”
You shook your head as you smiled. “No, we would be fine because you’d be competitive with everyone else, but super nice to me.”
“Okay, yeah, that’s true,” He smiled back at you. “I’d never make you pay if you landed on any of my properties.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re really cute too, by the way.”
You smiled wider. “You are the flirty one.”
“Yes, and I’ll happily admit it,” He said before kissing you again.
It was the sound of your phone loudly ringing, indicating your alarm, that interrupted you two that time around and startled you so much that it made your head harshly bump against his.
“Ouch, sorry.”
“What’s that alarm for?” Steve asked, rubbing his forehead.
“For you. And I completely forgot about it,” You answered as you turned and reached over to grab your phone and stop the incessant ringing. “I set it last night after you mentioned the final project that you needed to spend all day today working on.” You also quickly turned off the alarm that was set for fifteen minutes from now. “But, and hear me out on this one— don’t leave.” You turned back over and faced him again, taking note of the amused look on his face. “I’m kidding, for the most part, I know you have to go. But, I do have a fresh toothbrush you can use, and I still have your t-shirt if you wanna change into something else. Wait, actually, no you can’t use that shirt. I refuse to give it back to you now.”
“Honestly, I never expected it back.”
“Good,” You said before letting out a soft contented sigh and burying your face in his neck.
Things got quiet then and you half-expected him to say that yes, he did have to leave, but he didn’t. Instead, neither of you moved for a bit.
You could feel yourself slowly falling asleep, but you didn’t want it to happen, and although you wanted Steve to stay and be both your pillow and your blanket at that moment, you knew what you actually needed to do right then.
You pulled back from his neck to look at him. “Okay, I’ll stop holding you hostage now.”
“You can keep doing it if you want,” He said, sounding equally as tired as you and you decided not to protest his words.
“Okay,” You said softly with a quick nod before shifting around so that you were pressed back against him and then pulled his arm around you.
You felt his mouth against the top of your ear. “I wanna take you out tonight.”
You hummed in response. “Out?”
“On a date that both of us know is a date.”
“Okay,” You nodded. “Do I get to know where?”
“No, I want it to be a surprise.”
“Of course you do,” You said playfully. “Lucky for you I’m completely free tonight.”
You weren’t sure how long you’d fallen asleep that time, it could’ve been ten minutes or an hour, but the feeling of Steve pulling away from you stirred you awake.
“Go back to sleep,” He said when your eyes opened and you turned over to look at him. “I’ll see you later.”
You shook your head as you stood up from your bed and rubbed your eyes. “No, I’ll walk you out. Just to the door, though. I don’t think I can make it downstairs.”
“Okay,” He said, smiling at your tiredness.
It slightly startled you to see everyone in the living room; Robin and Vickie on the couch and Talia on the small loveseat.
“Hi… You guys remember Steve,” You said much more awkwardly than intended. The entire moment suddenly felt like a walk of shame; even though you and Steve hadn’t had sex and you were already home. But it was just that, aside from Talia, the last thing your other two friends knew about you and Steve was that you hadn’t talked in a month, so it must’ve seemed insane seeing him walk out of your room right then.
Vickie nodded at your previous words and smiled. “Talia filled us in on everything.”
“Steven, you’ve been missed around here,” Robin said, a smile on her face at first, and then she gave him a serious look. “We’ll have another talk later.”
He laughed a little. “Can’t wait for that.”
You finished walking Steve to the door, and Robin, Vickie, and Talia went back to watching the sitcom playing on the TV, but you had a feeling that they were very much listening to you and him.
Steve stepped out into the quiet hallway and then turned around to face you. “I’ll text you later about our date.”
“Okay,” You said softly, trying to think of some sort of joke to say but it was hard to do when all you really wanted to do right then was kiss him. So, you did, quickly pushing up on your toes and pressing the quickest kiss against his lips.
“Maybe I should stay, actually,” He said when you pulled back and his hands reached out to settle on your hips.
You almost agreed, but you shook your head instead. “No, go. You’re not gonna fail any classes because of me.”
“Okay,” He said before leaning down and giving you a final kiss on your cheek. “Bye.”
“Bye,” You said and then proceeded to smile and lean against the doorframe as you watched him walk away.
“Oh my god, she’s so in love.”
“Shut up,” You said in response to Robin’s teasing words as you pushed the door shut once Steve turned the corner. You tried to sound as serious as possible, but it was way too hard to wipe the smile off of your face.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
Steve’s hand found yours barely a minute into the car ride, intertwining it with his and resting them on your thigh.
You settled yourself into his passenger seat, getting comfortable for however long the drive would end up being. “So, you’re taking me to dinner.”
“Maybe…” He responded, and it slightly amused you how vague he was still being about everything even though his earlier text of, “I’ll be at your place at 7. Make sure you don’t eat dinner,” could really only mean one thing.
You decided to play along, though. “Or is it bowling? Roller skating? A movie?”
“Those are really good guesses,” He joked, which made you laugh.
“What’s the right answer?”
He took a quick glance over at you and shook his head. “I’m not saying.”
It wasn’t until twenty minutes later when he was parked in an unfamiliar but very crowded parking lot that he finally told you.
“Do you remember our first date?” He asked, and at first, all you could do was smile at his words.
It was such a silly question that you really couldn’t help but make a joke. “Weirdly enough, I don’t. Wait, who are you again?”
“Ha ha,” He playfully rolled his eyes at you.
“I’m sorry, I had to,” You said, pulling your intertwined hands up and giving the back of his a quick peck. “Of course, I remember our first date. We had a great time watching the second Hunger Games movie.”
“Yes, and we were supposed to get food before the movie, but you weren’t hungry so we skipped dinner and just did the movie. This is the place that I was gonna take you then.”
You nodded at his words and then looked away from him when you remembered something else from that night— where your head had been then and how you’d been feeling. “I’m sorry.”
Steve gave you a confused look. “Why?”
“This feels so shitty to say now, but I lied then. The reason that I suggested we skip dinner was because I just wanted the date to be over faster. Oh my god, saying it out loud makes it sound even more shitty.” You met his gaze again. “I’m sorry.”
“Hey, no, don’t be. That’s okay,” Steve said as he gave your hand a light reassuring squeeze. “Honestly, that makes a lot of sense.”
“It’s so stupid, though, because then during it, when we were watching the movie, I kinda regretted lying because of how well things were actually going with us.”
He gave you a smile then. “It was really good.”
You nodded. “Yup, I even let you kiss me that night.”
“Can I kiss you right now?”
You shook your head, biting back the smile tugging at your lips. “That’s not proper date etiquette, Steven. All kisses must be saved until the end.”
He nodded understandingly, but there was an amused smile on his face. “Ah yes, makes sense.”
You held his eyes for a moment and then looked away and finally stepped out of his car before you ended up breaking your own stupid rule.
His hand found yours again as you two headed inside the restaurant. It was a lively and busy place, and at first, you figured that was why Steve had picked it, but once you two were settled in the short line behind other people waiting to put their names down at the hostess stand, you noticed the open doors that led to the dining room area straight ahead and then the shelves and shelves of books to the left.
Before you could say anything, Steve was leaning into your ear to be heard over the noise. “It’s kind of a book-themed restaurant. You’ll see all of the decorations on the walls when we sit down later.” He then nodded his head in the direction of the bookshelves that you’d just noticed. “And there’s a used bookstore attached too.”
You looked up at him. “This place is perfect.” You then shook your head at yourself. “Now I feel like even more of an asshole for lying to you that night.”
“Now that I’m thinking about it, if we would’ve gone then, you probably would’ve fallen in love with me on the spot,” He told you, a teasing smirk on his face.
“Embarrassingly so, probably,” You playfully nodded in agreement.
It was quite hard to imagine things working out between you two in any other way than this one, though. It almost felt as if everything needed to happen in the way that it did between you and him. And with how damn near perfect everything felt right now, you were completely okay with how slow everything had moved— how stupid and confused you both had been at times— because it happily led you here.
You looked around for a brief second. “How did you know I would like this place before we even met?”
“The only thing Eddie told me about you before our date was that you were an English major, and after a quick Google search, I found this place and I figured it would be perfect,” He explained and then gave you a nonchalant and almost shy-looking shrug.
You pushed up on your toes and quickly kissed him instead of verbally saying anything in response to his thoughtful words that made you feel as if you were going to explode because of how sweet they were.
When you pulled away, he smiled at you. “I thought that wasn’t proper date etiquette?”
You didn’t get the chance to answer his question because you two were at the front of the line and Steve was putting his name down after the hostess said that there would be about a forty-five-minute wait to get a table, which you were perfectly okay with.
Steve let you lead the way as you went down different aisles; it was pretty quiet between you two. Whenever you were looking through books, you always got that way, focusing on finding something instead of anything else.
After about fifteen minutes, you were slotting another book back in the spot you pulled it from and then looked at Steve. “God, sorry, this is probably so boring for you.”
He shook his head and gave you a small smile. “No, I like watching you.”
You couldn’t help but laugh. “If I didn’t really really really like you, I would think that’s very creepy.”
“Phew, good thing you really really really like me then,” His arms circled around you and you returned the embrace immediately, letting your arms wrap around his neck as you looked up at him.
You were almost certain that you two were going to kiss, but you pulled away when you noticed a person at the end of the aisle— you didn’t want you and Steve to become the kind of couple that was so disgustingly adorable in public. You grabbed his hand instead and continued to lead him down the aisle.
You picked through books with your free hand, nothing really catching your eye enough for you to actually pull it off the shelf, and then you noticed a title that looked really familiar so you grabbed it immediately. “Woah.”
“What?” Steve asked, looking down at the book you now had in your hand.
“Okay, this might be a stupidly long story,” You started. “So, I had to read a different book by this author for one of my classes. I ended up liking it a lot and also his writing style too, so I looked him up, and I saw that he did this historical fiction book; some World War II thing. It actually sounded interesting, and I immediately thought of you when I found it because I thought you’d probably like it. But, we weren’t talking at the time, so of course I didn’t tell you about it or recommend it to you.” You pointed to the book in your hand. “This is that book, and now I really wanna get it for you. This also now reminds me of our first date and when I said that I’d find you a book to make you not hate reading. If you do end up actually hating this book, though, I give you full permission to lie to me when I ask what you thought about it.” You got quiet as you looked down at the book again and then back up at him. “Okay, I’m done rambling now.”
Steve smiled at you and your rambling. “I can’t wait to read it.”
You laughed a bit. “Okay, you don’t have to lie yet.”
“I’m not lying,” He told you. “If you get like this anytime you talk about books, then I’ll read any one you give me.”
That warmed your heart so much that it made you not care about pressing the sweetest kiss against his lips in front of the other people in the narrow aisle.
His hand was still against your cheek when you pulled back from the slow kiss and told him, “I’ll happily read to you too, like in Mexico, if you want.”
He nodded. “That sounds great.”
The text that the table was ready came earlier than expected. You two were sitting on a small bench that was right outside the restaurant and you were in fact reading to him.
“Thoughts so far?” You asked as you and he stood up to head back into the restaurant. “Remember lying is encouraged.”
“It’s surprisingly good. And I’m not lying,” He answered as he pulled the door open for you.
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。
You weren’t entirely sure who initiated what.
You had kissed Steve first, you knew that. But, it was meant to be a goodbye one— you were standing outside of your apartment door after having dinner at the restaurant and you both could recognize that the night had come to its natural end. Instead, though, the kiss felt like the opposite; it distinctly felt like the start of something rather than the end. And it did start something.
You were being softly pressed back against the door as Steve deepened the kiss, mouth moving against yours so seamlessly as one hand came up to cup your cheek and the other found the curve of your waist.
There was a part of you that suddenly felt so certain that this would never not feel so fucking right to you. Sure, it had been barely twenty-four hours since things shifted and changed into what you and Steve were now, but it felt so easy and not at all rushed or abrupt. It was as if this was something that had been slowly building until here you two finally were— making out against your front door without a care in the world because you both were so equally smitten and enamored by each other.
You wanted absolutely everything with him, and perhaps he was able to tell that from the look in your eyes when you pulled back from the kiss to catch your breath for a moment. And maybe it was in your head, but it seemed as if he was nodding in agreement with you.
He was in the middle of leaning in to kiss you again when the door opened abruptly and you let out a surprised yelp as both of Steve’s hands immediately found your hips to keep you from falling back.
“Shit, sorry,” You recognized Eddie’s voice before you turned around. “I don’t even wanna know what you two were just doing.”
You didn’t expect to see him in this moment. He came over to the apartment earlier to return something that he’d stolen from Robin a few days ago, and you had used that moment as your opportunity to tell him about you and Steve.
“I guess I did end up playing matchmaker for you after all,” Had been his immediate response after you told him that you and Steve were together. “Once again, I expect the biggest shoutout at your guys’ wedding.”
You only rolled your eyes at him in response because you couldn’t think of anything else to say. Technically, he was entirely right— you wouldn’t have even met Steve if it wasn’t for Eddie. And it was a bit insane to think about that.
“Also,” He continued. “I feel slightly offended that I’m the last to find out, even though I’ve known you the longest.”
“It’s one of the privileges that come along with Rob, Vick, and Tal being my roommates,” You said, a teasing smile on your face. “You’ll be back to the top in a few months.”
At the end of the summer, he was going to move into Talia’s room since she was graduating and doing her master’s program at a school in New York. It was an almost too obvious decision that, of course, made the most sense.
“I’m surprised you’re still here,” You said to Eddie now. You mindlessly leaned back against Steve because it felt slightly weird not having zero space between you two. It wasn’t until after you did it, that you wondered if you were doing too much, being too much, but then Steve’s hand was finding yours and giving it a light squeeze, and the thought was quickly pushed away.
“Vickie put on this weird Christmas baking show and we’ve all been watching it since you left,” Eddie explained and you nodded. “I’m now being forced to grab the takeout from downstairs, though.”
“You’re back!” You noticed Talia turning around from where she was on the couch. “How was the date?”
Before you could say anything, Robin was turning around too. “Eddie, grab the food before it gets stolen by the same asshole from last time!”
“I’m going, I’m going,” He called out before heading down the hallway.
The door was more than halfway open at that point, and you turned again to look at Steve again instead of doing anything else.
“You wanna come in?” You asked because you simply just really wanted to keep the night going with him. “If we hate watching the baking show, we can go to my room and finally watch Freaky Friday.”
From the smile on his face, you could tell that he didn’t want the night to be over either. “Okay.”
Babe I need Steve’s pov for ten minutes later 😫
18+
Thinking about giving bestfriend!steve a neck and shoulder massage. You’re perched at the very edge of your couch, legs spread wide enough for his broad frame to fit between.
You try not to think about how warm his back is against another heat that had started burning for the messy haired boy a few years ago when he started filling out his shirts better. The stubble on his jaw growing a little bit darker, voice a little bit deeper, hands a little bit bigger.
The pad of your thumb swipes over the cluster of freckles that sit in the dip of his neck, adding just a little bit of pressure that earns a deep groan from Steve’s chest. It vibrates against your core in a way that has your legs trying to close, and you swipe over the same spot with a little more force hoping it’s enough to distract him.
“Honey,” he sighs, head flopping to the side opening up more of his neck for you while his fingers curl around your calf.
“That’s the spot?” You smirk, digging hard enough to find the knot that caused the furrow in his brows when he walked in.
“Mmhmm,” he mumbles, long lashes fluttering against his rosy cheeks.
Your eyes trace the long vein that runs up his neck, and the bob of his adam’s apple every time he swallows. Fingers following the same path, you knead the soft spot just below the back of his head before letting the ends of your nails drag through the hair that curls there.
The moan he lets out is almost pornographic, and it has you biting at the inside of your cheek. Especially when his fingers squeeze at the muscle they’re wrapped around. It takes everything inside of you not to rock your hips up in search for the friction that your body is screaming for, aching for.
“Ten more minutes and then we’ll switch.” He promises, and the thought is almost enough for you to combust.
