I need to put out there for my own sanity's sake, all the things I created on the show Steampunk'd. Check my previous posts for episodes 1-3. Episode 4: Steampunk Wardrobe Room Our story: the wardrobe belongs to a Fancy Sci Fi high ranked palace guard & his family. Story created by JW/Tayliss. I wanted to do a traveling family circus with the main character being the ring leader. That would have been fun and uber steampunk! I created 2 outfits: 1 for the palace guard & 1 for his daughter who is a fighter pilot. For the guard I made a top hat out of a lamp shade. From a normal coat, a high waisted, tailed tuxedo top with a filigree brass button & filigree tail ornaments that matched the top hat center piece & a regal brass shoulder epaulette with fringe & a leather strap. A matching vest. Brass filigree medals decorated the jacket to signify the guard's high rank. All the brass pieces I took from antique light fixtures. Matching pants, spats, cuff links out of type writer keys with the guard's initials, & dress shoes with the same ornaments over the laces to make the shoes look more "period". For the fighter pilot I created a brown suede flight cap with beige fur & mauve lace trim with wooden filigree I painted gold over the ear flaps. A high collared brown leather flight jacket with the same fur & lace trim, short puffed up sleeves, the same gold painted wooden filigree in the shape of a royal emblem on the back, a buster from a curtain, matching Brown leather shorts, mauve lace garter belts holding up beige silk stockings, Victorian Styled boots with fur trim, a necklace made from Typewriter parts & clock gears, & white leather gloves with rings I made from type writer keys that spell "sky" on one hand and "gun" on the other. Trying to finish up about 8 commissions tonight. Here are 2 of them. A preserved mantella baroni frog holding onto peridot gemstones in each hand. This will be mounted into a bracelet for the client. And a ring containing diaphonized mouse parts floating in glycerin. Need to fine tune the silver filigree end caps on that. It's gonna be a long night.
