I'm still not entirely thrilled with some of these pictures... But I figured it was a nice day so I would try. I think I need to use my photo box and a tripod and not just the ground of the driveway withinThe confines that the shade of my car provided.

That's my fault for trying to do a rush job on photos. But I'm hoping to get these up soon once I either edit these photos to be better quality or I take some better photos.

I forgot to post about this yesterday! I got an order for a needle minder several days ago for one of my steampunk minders. 

Yesterday, the dear husband was at home doing work training. Made for the perfect opportunity to go the post, as often times, he gets home after it closes. Easier to go with out the child, as she never likes keeping the mask on and she wants to touch everything.

Anyway! I love it when folks order needle minders! It makes me happy to know that they loved the item so much, they wanted it for themselves. Also, it quells my utter joy with stamps and stamping. Who else is the odd one out and goes WILD for stamps and stamping?

I like to make each package unique, from stamping the envelope, to the thank you stickers, etc. However, I am starting to reach the end of these manila clasp envelopes, so, do I buy more to continue with my stamping enjoyment, or do I suck it up and use up my plastic bubble mailers for now, forgoing the stamping fun? Ah, the decisions of a small business 😅

Anyway, finish mailing package, go to drive-thru for lunch so the child and I can eat. I get home and not two minutes after walking into the door, I hear the all to familiar "ka-ching" notification of Etsy, informing me of a purchase. 

Happy that someone loved what they saw and wanted a pattern, I check my phone. Nope. Not a pattern. Needle minder. 🤦‍♀️ Don't get me wrong,  I LOVE getting orders, and bringing joy to my customers, but. uh. If only the order had come in that morning since I was already going to the post. LOL! Oh well, it is what it is.

These will be limited release for the Halloween season, and once these (and the embellished ones) are sold, that’s it folks!  These shall be no more, and new minders shall be invented to take it’s place! They take 1-3 business days to complete (I mean, spray paint one side, let it dry, flip over and spray paint other side, let dry, quality control check, spray paint again if some need it, assemble, let glue dry for 24 hours. You know, all that good stuff)

Perhaps Halloween/goth/murder minders…all year round? What do you all think? Would you buy them even in February? Or may? OR July? I have so many embellishments left over for a number of high voted designs. Comments would be appreciated on if you would buy these year round for your goth aesthetic or halloween aesthetic…. or share around if you know someone who would love a goth magnet and or needle minder, or someone who is into steampunk, or someone who is into true crime documentaries. ⚙️ if I spray painted these new ideas black, kept doing goth/murder minders year round, even ones with my Halloween embellishments, would you buy them? Even in December? Even in April? Even in June?⚙️

The third picture, the big cog will, only takes up 8.3% of the bag of "big bag of steampunk buttons". The small cogs and the donuts take up 47.6 and 19% The clocks and some heart ones that I have, only take up 14% and 8.6%. I'm not worried about those. I can buy those individually.

So I'm sure you can put two and two together and see that all the other elements are overflowing for me therefore not feasible to continue with the current design.

So, trying to come up with new designs and wondering if #1, you'd buy these steampunk designs. #2, you would buy goth and or murder minders year round and #3, would you even buy ones with pumpkins or witch hats etc etc year-round?

Hey look at that! I'm inventing and creating! I'm making a bunch of steampunk themed gallifreyan inspired and needle binders! Perfect for the doctor who fan! Or perfect for the steampunk fan!

They are going to be somewhat double-sided! The back magnet has a small gear attached to it to make it easier to pull apart... So you can flip the needle minder if you don't need a big needle minder in your way!

Only one side of the needle minder is magnetic. What do you think? should the opposite side be magnetic too or just leave it on one side?

I just need to find some good lighting, and take some better pictures and I hope to have these on my shop soon! Who here is excited! I know steampunk is in and there are tons of Doctor Who fans out there.

I spent the afternoon working on a bunch of these because I figured it was time for steampunk in my shop. I got Halloween themed steampunk needle minders and ones with black cats but I didn't have just plain steampunk needle minders.

When you realize that your #DIY magnetic photo box is clearly not magnetic enough when it keeps falling apart when you try to add your muslin covering to diffuse the lighting. Very frustrating.

So, time to add some stronger magnets. And, to add more of them. Not only to all the upright sides, but the left and right side of the bottom. I should probably add some to the back side of the box too.

And the pictures are in sequential order to give you a general idea of how I do my work when I do these. If I decide to do it again and I'm going to buy some 5 mm or 4 mm magnets instead they're just as strong because the 6 mm ones? They're just a breadth too big and it takes a lot of finagling and tape to get them to stay.

Either way, it made it a lot stronger and less prone to falling over. It takes a lot more Force to knock it down.

And, you guys get to have some previews of some of the gothic needle minders and murder needle minders that I'm making for my shop! Well, they're not made yet. I'm making a lot of ideas and then I will post quite a few here for votes and on Instagram and on Facebook!

So please leave a comment to let me know what you think of these minders! Shared around to other crafters. Or shared around to someone who needs a fridge magnet! I can also turn these into pins or I can find a way to turn it into a necklace pendant. I might even be able to find a way to turn them into earrings as long as they're not too heavy. So, I get to go to the Post today! Two times in one week? That's never happened before!

I am so happy! So happy that I get to send wonderful things to people that they will enjoy and love!

And, with all these supplies, it's clear that I put time and Care into each package to make sure that each one is unique and special. Plus, you know, I just love using stamps, stickers, and ribbon. As well as picking out an appropriate colored piece of cardstock for the needle minder to stick against. Sometimes certain minders, need the sparkly mermaid cardstock, sometimes it needs gold, and sometimes it needs black.

And, As I was writing the tags for these, I tagged them as goth because in a way, with the skull and the spider.. one could see them that way... Then gave me the incredible idea of getting some spray paint design for plastic and resin, and spraying a whole bunch of gear parts black (because I want to use those up before I actually buy some black ones)

And making the same kind of needle minders with skulls and spiders and ghosts.. because those would be great for halloween, I can make goth inspired, spooky inspired, witch inspired.

Because halloween, october, fall, ghosts, ghost hunting, paranormal, witchy things... Those are all things that I'm totally down for so, rather than venture into a lot (though maybe just a few) of cross stitch patterns, when there are so many other awesome desigers of that aesthetic, I've totally got ideas for needle minders

Needle minders can also have alternative uses. I have a bunch of faux druzy needle minders that I make and sell and I have a surplus and I figure I'd use it in a creative way.

A really strong computer magnet can hang a cookie sheet on the wall (And thankfully, the edges of our walls are lined and magnetic metal. I forget what kind though)

And then I can hang my cross stitch group seller sheet! I'm in quite a number of groups that I'm always looking for more and I keep getting confused when groups have their seller posts or their seller days. This will help me keep track of all the groups and by placing a needle minder on the group that I've already posted to, it'll help me keep track so I don't double post on accident.

And then, I have a magnetic tray that I got at Target. I'm hanging that in my kitchen and it's been there for a while. Really strong computer magnets attached to the back of the cabinet help hold it in place. This is a great place to display some of the you don't mind yours that I make as well as some of the ones I have bought.

This is a reminder that I do make needle minders and I do take requests. Needle binder making may end up being more of a spring through fall kind of deal while I work with really stinky glue... And the weather's warming up so I'm starting to get back into it.

She received them on July 29th , so now I can post them to social media! It was @sassyandmadstitches (IG) birthday...and she said on a previous post that she only owned three needle minders.  And I'm a needle minder maker. She should be incredibly happy that I'm a needle minder maker because three needle minders does not a collection make. Therefore, I knew the PERFECT birthday present!

And so, I had to get my mind thinking. What do I have in my crafting cart. What do I have in the 3D printer? Well, that Rupee actually turned out perfect, perfect enough I could probably use it after some fine tweaking but, my friend needed to have it first. And the beaver? That's an inside joke with her family.

So, I needed to get her started on a collection. Because every cross stitcher knows, you don't mind yours are awesome to hold your needles and, having a collection is totally awesome.

It’s voting season! I have made various designs and Well, it’s hard to choose! Some designs will only be made once (and I���m not spilling those spooky secrets!) Don't be surprised if you see these posts until the 28th of the 29th. Maybe a couple times a day because I fell behind on making these LOL whoops. Damn you ADHD

Now I know it's been kind of did around here... And that's my fault. I've been dealing with some stress that's been causing me anxiety, some family conflict that's been causing me anxiety, I ended up sick with a cold.. Not covid-19 thankfully. And my husband was out of town for 2 weeks the day I got my cold.

The queue It's not filled up... And I've only been stitching two things lately and this is one of them. A present for a friend.

I haven't even done much with my shop. Although, I have started working on my logo finally. That's an important step right?

My head just hasn't been in the game lately... But I'm trying my best! Because I still have steampunk needle minders to finally get on my shop... And a few patterns that are finished.

I am going to try to get these listed as soon as I can, but you know how life is with a 4-year-old. I need to take some better pictures and better lighting... And the soonest these can ship out is the beginning of April because my husband's out of town for a work project and I don't really like taking my 4-year-old out and about just yet.

I've already tried it, put the back magnet will be strong enough to also double as a scissor minder for your small, lightweight, embroidery scissors. So! You can use this as a double-sided needle minder!
