Discover the Benefits of Steam Cleaning in Baltimore: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Are you tired of dealing with stubborn stains, unpleasant odors, and harmful germs in your home or office in Baltimore? If so, steam cleaning could be the solution you've been searching for. In this comprehensive guide, we'll take a closer look at steam cleaning in Baltimore and the many benefits it offers.
Firstly, let's define steam cleaning. Unlike traditional cleaning methods that use harsh chemicals, steam cleaning uses hot water vapor to clean and sanitize surfaces. This makes it a safer and more eco-friendly cleaning option, particularly for those with allergies or sensitive skin.
One of the biggest advantages of steam cleaning is its ability to penetrate deep into surfaces and remove dirt, grime, and bacteria that traditional cleaning methods may miss. It's particularly effective for cleaning carpets, upholstery, and hard floors in high-traffic areas like homes and offices.
In addition to its cleaning power, steam cleaning can also improve the air quality in your home or office by reducing the number of airborne allergens and pollutants. This can be especially beneficial for those with asthma or allergies.
Another benefit of steam cleaning in Baltimore is its versatility. It can be used to clean a variety of surfaces, from carpets and upholstery to tile and grout. It can even be used to clean and disinfect kitchen appliances like ovens, stovetops, and refrigerators.
Tumblr media
If you're concerned about the cost of steam cleaning, rest assured that it's a cost-effective cleaning option in the long run. Since steam cleaning doesn't require any chemicals or detergents, it can save you money on cleaning supplies over time. Plus, since steam cleaning can prolong the life of your carpets and upholstery, it can save you money on replacement costs in the long run.

Hamilton 1999 Tour Journal
The tour journal, cleaned up by ChatGPT!
Day One: We leave at midnight since our first show of the tour is in Baltimore. I am driving, and we are about three miles from the Ohio border (one hour from home). All of a sudden, I look in the rearview mirror, and the back window is all steamed up. I look down at the engine temperature gauge, and we are overheating. So begins our fun tour. This day turns into the longest day of our lives. James' dad drives down to save us, but Brian and I have already started walking to get help. We are almost hit by a car that is driving on the shoulder of the road, and then a skinhead holding a Bible comes and picks us up, driving us into Ohio. So we get the van towed, and we sleep in it instead of going home. We sleep for about half an hour in the BP repair shop parking lot, and Brian sleeps under a tree, and on top of a crushed dead bird, as we will later find out. The shop tells us that the water pump is ruined, and they can get us a new one. We should expect to be on the road by noon. Shit runs late, and we have to cancel in Baltimore. So at 5:30, we finally leave because these fucking hicks are so goddamn slow, plus they didn't fix it properly as we will find out on...
Tumblr media
Day 2: After driving through Ohio, West Virginia, and most of Pennsylvania, we call Jordan, whose home we are supposed to stay at, and tell him we will be there soon. About thirty minutes later, we stall out on the freeway. Turns out that the sons of bitches at the BP didn't put the belts on properly, so now it's 3 am, and we're in Breezewood, Pennsylvania. We drive the piece of shit van to this truck stop where there is a mechanic on duty, but he says in the most stereotypical redneck accent I have ever heard, "I don't fix no cars, only big trucks." So we're stuck in shithole, PA. We sleep for about an hour in the parking lot of another repair shop. Brian sleeps on rocks, Marty on the roof of the van. When the repair shop owner arrives, he says he can't fix it, so we have to go somewhere else. So we drive around and find a repair shop to fix it. They replace a few belts, and we drive away. About a mile or two down the road, we break another belt. So we go back, and they say that it's not an important belt, so not to worry. So we head to Baltimore. We get to Jordan's house and meet the Stillwell and Wayouts guys. Everyone is really nice. Jordan takes us to Reptilian Records, and we spend lots of money. We then say bye-bye to Jordan and head to our show in Washington, D.C., which has been hyped up a little, so we figure it will be a good show. We get a hotel room in Chevy Chase and relax. We head to the show, and once we arrive, we discover that the promoter "forgot" about the show, so the club doesn't want us to play, and there is no PA. So we say fuck this, we're playing. Exercises in Breathing play first; they are a duo, trombone and guitar. Their song "Stewie's Car" will soon become a driving favorite. Then we play and just scream into the air. There are like six people watching, but it's fun. Then the Wayouts perform an acoustic set, which they have never done before. It's amazing. Stillwell caps the night off. Those kids can rock. I am dead from driving and having no sleep and taking No-Doz. Everyone is exhausted and sick of driving. Brian meets this street guy, and they go to this little blind pig-type bar called the King Pin. Brian is now drunker than I have ever seen him in my life. We go back to the hotel, and Brian meets this desk clerk named Funnel. He is great. He wants to take us to strip clubs, but we decide to sleep instead.
Tumblr media
Day 3: We decide to take in the sights in D.C. We go to the Capitol building, the Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, the White House... Brian and I are loving it, but Marty and James want to go. So we take off for Long Island around three. Right as we get into the rough part of D.C., the van overheats. So we go to this little place called "Auto Repair," and these two Korean guys fix us up good. It's raining, and we've all gone insane. New Jersey will soon become the worst-smelling state I've ever been in. We take off for New York. I am amazed by how real it is. It always seems so fake, like it only exists on TV. We stop in the sketchiest part of Brooklyn so Marty can call his girlfriend, and Brian and I go buy beer literally through a hole in the wall. We get to Josh's house at 1 am.
Tumblr media
Day 4: Josh's house is great, but unfortunately, the shows we are supposed to play in Long Island and Connecticut fall through. But we go to NYC and have a blast. I get Krispy Kreme donuts and a new belt; James buys GNR stuff, and Marty looks at Austin Powers dolls. We go to the Ed Sullivan Theatre, meet Rupert G at the Hello Deli, see MTV Studios in Times Square, and the NBC Experience store. It's great. I love New York. At night we head back to the island and go to a friend of Mario and Josh's who directed a movie that they starred in along with Neil from Irony of Lightfoot. The movie is really funny, and we have fun hanging out with the Islanders. I have this crazy allergic reaction during the night, so I spend a lot of it on the deck outside.
Day 5: We hang out at the laundromat for a bit so I can wash my blanket. Marty buys this cool cop uniform from a nearby thrift store. We go into the city to play this great radio show on WNYU that Steve from Saetia hooks us up with. The show comes out well, but tensions are now high within the band. We hang out around the NYU campus and see a real live New York cockroach. After the show, we head to Feasterville, Pennsylvania.
Day 6: We eat at Roy Rogers at around 1 am and then drive through Jersey to get to Philadelphia. We arrive at around 3 am or so and start to look for a hotel. We wind up at what we believe to be a brothel in Feasterville, and we sneak in with our video camera and try to tape the sounds of people having sex. We then try to find Bob's house, and when we do, it is still too early to go up and knock. So we find this obese guy sitting in his kitchen eating Ding Dongs while naked. We decide to flash him with our flashlight and tape it. Then we just park in front of Bob's house and go to sleep after running from the fat guy and getting lost. Brian and I decide it would be funny to set off the car alarma few times. Marty is pissed. Bob's dad comes out on his way to work and invites us to come in and sleep. So we do, and when we wake up, we go to the mall to eat and watch "Big Daddy." Brian and I buy hats, and Marty looks at Austin Powers dolls again. That night we get pizza and decide to go to downtown Philly to see the fireworks, so we meet up with some of Bob's friends. James and Marty go with Bob and a couple of the guys, while Brian and I go with these two girls. The girl Crystal who is driving has no clue where she is going, so we end up getting lost in New Jersey. We finally get back and find the crew, but we get harassed by the cops and then go back to Bob's. Brian is upset because they don't have 40s in Feasterville, and we learn that a sub is a hoagie, and we feel salty after that.
Day 7: We finally play a real show, except for the fact that for some reason there is no money taken at the door, so we don't get paid. This is the hottest show ever. All the bands are good, too many to name, and I forget almost all of them. A really good emo band plays, though, that I like a lot. We sell a bunch of stuff, so we have gas money home. On the way out, I run over the neighbor’s flowers. He is upset. We drive 13 hours to get home.
Day 8: We get home and go to sleep in our own beds. When we wake up, the phone calls begin to get ready for the show in Windsor. We head out for that at like 6. It's a pretty good show. People from Detroit come over to see us, and we are really happy about that. The basement in which the show is held sucks; we play kinda bad, but the other bands are good, not really my thing though. Acacia spends the night at my house.
Day 9: We go to Grand Haven and play with Acacia, Dead Season, With Arms Still Empty, and some other band from Florida. The show sucks ass; we are all pissed at each other. We play three songs, and we are done. Funny how Grand Haven is always so good to us, and our last show there is to 8 kids. Whatever. We once again sleep in our own beds.
Day 10: We play at the IO in Detroit. A bunch of kids come out, and we meet up with our good friends Last Days of August. They play great; Compass Point Progress and 46short also rock it. LDA spends the night at Laura's house.
Day 11: Our van is in the shop now, and we have to take our old minivan to Chicago. It is decided that Brian has to come back home in a few days anyhow, so he and James will go back and get the van. I fight with Laura just before we leave for Chi-town. At the last minute, Kevin decides he is going to come along, and he brings his Explorer, so Marty and Brandon, who is now our roadie, ride with him. We get to the Fireside, and the show is supposed to be huge. Race Traitor is playing, so we figure about a hundred kids. Of course, 15 show up. All the bands play well, and after the show, we go to this apartment rented by a friend of Brian. We're having fun with the Last Days guys.
Day 12: We go to Fort Wayne, Indiana, to play in a tattoo parlor. Not much to say. Lame-ass show, 10 kids. Bonnie Situation comes down from the LIV to rock with us. We go to IHOP, and then we get hotel rooms. Brian and James go home to get the van, so Marty, Brandon, Kevin, and I ride in the Explorer.
Day 13: The Last Days van is now also fucked, so they take it to get repaired, and Josh from LDA, Kevin, Brandon, Marty, and I go to the mall. It is decided that their van can make it to the next show, so we leave for that. We get to the house where the show is, and we are all standing around in the yard laughing and whatnot when the kid who lives there, Josh, comes up to me and says, "Charley, James is on the phone. He says the van broke down." So we go out there in the Explorer to pick up James and Brian and bring back equipment for the show. We get the van towed to the house. We play, and we are just pissed. The PA doesn't work, so it's just crazy. Kevin sings in my place for "Weekends" cause my voice is now totally shot. We eat and are well taken care of thanks to Josh and his family. Brian, Sal, and I stay up talking to three girls from the local scene all night.
Day 14: Brian, the girls, and I all go to Burger King for breakfast. We've been up all night. Last Days wants to cancel the Milwaukee show tonight, but we convince them to go. Bad idea. We get there, and the space is too small to play in. The kids have on ICP shirts and don't get us at all. Insidious plays, and they are great. Those guys fucking rule. So we go into Milwaukee and eat. There is a big debate over this, and it is obvious that people are starting to hate each other. We decide to drive back to Indiana tonight, since our next show is there. Last Days' van has trouble, and they think it's the axle, so they decide to scrap it.
Day 15: So now we're in a dilemma. We only have the Explorer after LDA decides to ditch their van in Wisconsin, and there are 11 people plus equipment that have to get back to Indiana. Somehow we manage to pack 6 people plus half the equipment into the Explorer. It is decided that the rest of the people will wait in Wisconsin, and Brian will drive straight back to get them. We unload the shit in Napanee, Indiana at 7 am, and Brian, who has had no sleep in days, drives back to get the rest of the guys. The guy who runs the hall where the show was at was really nice and let us come inside. We sleep all day since the town is like an Amish town and there is nothing to do there. Around 5 or 6 pm, Brian shows up, but the Last Days van is right behind him. Turns out it was just the muffler, and they had it fixed. We play what will be our last show ever; Last Days rock my fucking world, and it's the last time I will ever see them play since they broke up too. Zao sucks, Mara'akate is good though. I smash my guitar, and Kevin and Brandon sing along on "Weekends." Marty and I are not speaking. We are having no fun. We head back to Josh's to spend our last night together.
Day 16: We get the van fixed and go home. The tour is over, so is the band. We all know it.

Four Ways to Prevent Mold Growth in Your Baltimore Home
Tumblr media
Any home can experience the serious and common issue of mold. Particularly at this time of year, excessive moisture can make it more likely for mold to grow in places like basements and closets. While most people only think about how it looks and smells, exposure to a lot of mold can lead to allergic reactions and respiratory issues. Sneezing, a runny nose, a cough, and itchy eyes are signs of a mold problem. What steps can you take to reduce the likelihood that mold will appear in your home? And how do you prevent mold from reappearing? Here are four suggestions for making a mold-free, healthy environment:
1. Clean and ventilate your bathroom to prevent mold from developing in the tiles.
Mold quickly multiplies and loves warm, moist environments. Before it starts to grow on walls and other surfaces, it's critical to stop the spread of mold. Keeping your home dry and clean is the best way to prevent mold growth.
What should you do first? Focus on the surfaces that get the most moisture, such as bathroom sinks, floors, and tubs. Use mold-killing products to regularly clean these areas. Want to avoid using chemicals? Using steam cleaners to safely clean your bathroom is a great idea. Mold can grow in your bathroom because many have attachments to clean tile grout and other tight spaces.
2. Repair leaks and quickly dry wet items.
Large-scale mold problems are frequently caused by plumbing leaks or, worse, floods. Take care of any leaks right away if you find them. To dry out the area after larger leaks, this might entail renting or buying water damage restoration fans. Dry off any wet items, and wash the towels you used to clean up the mess right away. You invite mold issues if you let wet messes sit, especially in a basement.  Fearful of leaks or outdated appliances? You can relax with inexpensive leak and moisture detectors.
3. Control the Humidity in Your Basement
Mold thrives in damp places like basements and crawl spaces. You might have a mold issue if your basement smells musty or if visitors complain of allergy symptoms. Basements are notorious for accumulating moisture, making them the perfect environment for mold to grow undetected. If there is a problem, keeping an eye on your basement's plumbing, walls, and floor will help prevent mold from spreading.
A dehumidifier is the best way to prevent too much moisture in your crawl space or basement. We advise you to maintain the relative humidity in your indoor air at about 50%. The best way to prevent mold growth is to add a dehumidifier and set it to the right humidity level.
Checking the items you keep in the basement is another smart move. Your basement's cramped, dim interior spaces may be home to moisture and mold. Before storing anything, make sure it is clean and dry. Examples include tents, sleeping bags, extra clothing, and other items you might toss in the back room and forget about.
4. Keep an eye on the humidity and look for mold.
As we previously stated, using a dehumidifier is the best way to maintain a healthy humidity level, especially in hot, humid conditions. Most dehumidifiers are equipped with a humidistat, which turns the machine on when it's needed.
Unsure if you have a moisture problem or mold? Mold isn't always obvious, and if you do find it, the situation is probably much worse than it appears. Finding out how much mold is present in your home can be done very easily with the Mold Detective Kit. The results of this at-home kit's mold inspection are sent to you in a report. If you want to see if your home has mold, visit its product page.
In conclusion, using a dehumidifier to keep your home's humidity level at a healthy level is the best way to prevent mold growth. Other suggestions include repairing leaks right away, keeping your bathroom clean and ventilated, and keeping ground water away from your home.

WIFE AND SISSY
I was nervous as I stood holding Jamie's hand.
"Here he comes" Jamie told me excitedly. "Now just shake his hand and thank him for pleasing me for you." She told me.
He was a
Arge black man, Jamie jumped into his arms. I looked around the park to see if anyone noticed. My wife kissing this huge black man. He put her down. Jamie motioned to me.
"I want to thank you" I said going to shake his hand. Jamie looked at me sternly.
"I want to thank you for pleasing Jamie like I could never do" I said
"My pleasure" he responded smiling he shook my hand his hand engulfed mine.
"Why don't I buy you girls some lunch" he said turning to Jamie. She motioned for me to follow as she held his hand. She ignored that he had called me a girl. We sat at an outdoor bistro. Jamie openly flirted with Don. When the waitress came over Don ordered for us all. He didn't ask just ordered.
"So, Tomas. You work where?" He asked me. I had been layed off months ago and had not found another job. Jamie just laughed her hand obviously in his lap.
"Just teasing, I may have a lead on a job for you" he told me. Giving me a name and number to call.
"That's great, thank you" Jamie told him. Then looked at me.
"Yes thank you" I responded. He waved off as it was nothing. We ate and he paid the bill.
"Tommy, give Don your car keys." Jamie told me. "You can take the bus home. I am going to over to Don's place" she told me. I handed Don my keys.
"Do you have bus fair?" Jamie asked as if I was a little kid. I just nodded. Knowing she was going to get fucked by this mountain of a man. We parted ways. I walked to other side of the park and caught the bus home. A few minutes later I got a text. It was a pic of Jamie on her knees sucking Don's big cock. Jamie had been sleeping with him for three weeks now. She had confessed the very first time. But told me she wasn't going to stop. She had caught me on our security system wearing her clothes. And decided she needed a real man. She had me wear panties 24/7 now and allowed me to dress up when we had sex. Which was more like lesbians see then anything else.
She made no secret from family and friends that she slept with other men. Or that I was shaved smooth and wore panties. My sister wasn't surprised having caught me wearing her clothes several times as a kid. Quite a few of my male friends just stopped talking to me altogether.
I so wanted to play with myself but held off knowing Jamie would be disappointed. I called Alex the job offer Don had told me about.
"Hello"a woman answered.
"Yes, I am a friend of Don's and" I started
"Is this Tomas?" Shs said.
"Yeah, I am looking for Alex" I said questioning
"Yes, I am Alec. Can you start tonight?" She asked. I wasn't even aware what the job was. But was thrown by the conversation "
"Yes" I replied.
"Great, 245 Baltimore st. At 11pm. Tell Adam your meeting me" she told me and hung up. I still didn't know what the job was and at night? I decided to try and take a nap since I would be up late. Jamie woke me it was already dark.
"Hey sleepy head. She was naked and climbing into bed. She lowered herself to sit on my face and large globs of cum instantly flowed into my mouth.
"I love your gentile tounge after his big strong cock" Jamie told me. When she was happy I had cleaned it all she moved and allowed me to clean her ass as well.
Then she jumped in the shower.
"I called that job, Don told me about" I told her.
"Great" she said through the steam of the shower
"Meeting her tonight" I told Jamie.
"Her?" Jamie said stepping out of the shower.
"Alec is a woman" I informed her. I went to jump in the shower as well. Jamie stopped me.
"Don't you like Don's cum all over your face?" She asked. Leading me to the bedroom. She opened her drawer and pulled out her strapon. I took it and knelt putting it on her.
"You like my big cock so much" she teased bending me over she pulled down my panties. Jamie had been training me to take it fucking me several times a week. It slid it with very little resistance.
"Your first pay check I want you to buy a bigger one" she told me as she fucked my ass.
"Where are my keys?" I asked as I went to leave.
"Don has your car, just take the bus" she told me. I ran to meet the bus. No one except a middle age man even looked up at me. And he seemd to be checking me out.
The building was locked when I got there. Adam was night security and let me in.
"She is on the 12th floor" he told me. When the elevator opened Alec was waiting. She explained that she owned a cleaning company. And I was going to be cleaning offices. I couldn't do this I thought. I used to work in buildings like this I had an office this wasn't me. I told Alec no thank you and left. I called Jamie.
"It's a cleaning service" I told her.
"I know Don told me" she responded. "I figured it was a perfect job for a sissy boi, now you march back up their and get the job" she told me. I wasn't happy but did as she said.
"Alec, I am sorry Yes thank you for this opportunity " I told her. She teamed me Roseta a Spanish woman who showed me what I was expected to do. She had me scrub the bathrooms and remove all the trash. It was simple enough but they moved fast. I had trouble keeping up. I took the bus home. I was exhausted. Jamie was asleep still. I woke her. She was naked.
"Don spent the night" she told me. Then pulled me down to her crotch. I licked his dry cum off her then continued till she came on my tounge. She went and jumped in the shower I fell asleep still in my clothes. When I got up Jamie wasn't home from work yet. I showered and shaved myself smooth as she liked me to be. Then got dressed. I dredded going back to work tonight but knew what Jamie would say. Jamie came home around 6.
"You didn't make dinner?" She was disappointed. But she handed me a bag. In it was a huge black dildo.
"It fits in my harness" she told me excitedly
"It's really big" I told her worried.
"Don't be silly I know you can't wait to try it" she dragged me into the bedroom. She had me strapon on her harness and she attached the toy. Shs just motioned for me to bend over. I took off my pants and got on the bed. She applied lube. And stood over me on the bed. She slowly worked this massive toy into my ass.
"It's so much bigger then my old one" she cooed the head popped in and I gasped.
"Breath baby, you want this" she told me. She waited till I became accustomed to the much larger size then worked it an inch at a time in and out.
"You are going to be so queen sized after this" she laughed. The mixture of pain and pleasure was driving me wild.
"Halfway" she said I already felt I was stuffed full. Cum had already soaked my panties. As she pushed more in.
"That's it baby you took all 11 inches" Jamie said proudly. Then started with longer strokes. She was so turned on I felt her wetness on her thighs everytime she pushed it in.
"You are such a fucking faggot" she told me as she fucked my ass. She collapsed on top of me driving it balls deep.
"OH God that was good" she said pulling it from me. My ass felt like it was torn open. I just laid on the bed.
"You better get showered and ready for work" she told me. I could barely walk but did as she told me.
"Tommi, maybe you should start wearing this as well" she held up a bra to my chest as I went to get dressed. I rolled my eyes.
"Is that a no?" Jamie asked.
"People will notice" I explained.
"So, are you ashamed at being my little faggot" Jamie asked.
She didn't wait for a response instead just put it on me. She then picked up my dirty panties and had me lick them clean. My panties matched my bra. I wore a sweatshirt so no one would notice. Don still had my car.
"Let me take your car" I told Jamie
"What if Don calls and wants me to come over. No I need my car" she told me. So again I took the bus. I worked even slower that night my ass aching. The ladies became annoyed. But just rushed me along. When I got home my car was in the driveway. I found Don and Jamie in bed asleep.
"Jamie, you got to get for work" I said kissing her softly.
"OH hi, sweety" she said the blanket fell away and she was naked.
"Don, it's time to get up" she said kissing him. He grabbed her and tried pulled her on to him.
"I can't I will be late" she told him getting off.
"Tommi, do you want to suck Don's cock" she asked pulling back the covers to show me his hard thick cock. She guided me to it.
"Go ahead" she told me. Putting it in my hand. And pushing my head down. I gave in and took him in my mouth. Jamie had made me suck her strapon before this wasn't much different it tasted better and was warm I thought. Don turned on the news and Jamie jumped in the shower. I was still sucking his cock when she got out. Her hands ran across my butt. A moment later her grabbed my head and held me as he came. I was choking on his cum when he finally let me go. I just could swallow fast enough. Once I caught my breath I licked him clean.
Jamie said nothing. Just got ready for work Don got up and showered and left before her.
"You really liked his cock" she told me rubbing my crotch thru my jeans. "You would make a pretty redhead" she informed me then left for work. I went to bed. I got up and made dinner.
When Jamie came home we ate then she took me into the bedroom and dyed my hair red.
"See you look so pretty" she told me. It was OK I guess but I didn't know why. At work I start to get into the routine and did a lot better. I had given up asking about my car. And bought a bus pass. When I got home Jamie was up and waiting for me.
"I really love the red" she told me. She wore her new strapon and bent me over the couch. She spent the next hour pounding away on my ass. When she pulled out she pushed her hand in.
"I can fist you now" she told me laughing. I just moaned as she did.
Jamie continued to push my boundaries, having me dress up fully and go out in public. She had my hair grow out and kept it red. I often found Don. Had spent the night and when he did it wasn't uncommon for me to give him a blowjob when he did. A few months later I found myself in yoga pants and a pink tee with a black bra showing thru while I went to work. They all knew by then that I was sissy boi. Jamie and I are planning a second wedding. So we can become officially Wife and Sissy.

A Punchable Face That I Want to Kiss, Ch. 1 [NSFW/18+]
Chapter 2 ->
Summary:  You can’t stand Frederick Chilton, but after he’s tortured and left scarred by a former patient, you are afflicted by an irrepressible desire to get him in bed.
This has been posted on AO3 for awhile, but I thought I’d post the chapters here! (Took the liberty of fleshing out the short smut a wee bit.)
2,380 words
Tumblr media
Dr. Frederick Chilton was arrogant and unpleasant.
Everyone thought so, but most would dance around their hostility toward him with subtle digs couched in polite conversation. Not you. You weren’t shy about saying it to his face.
As he exited the courtroom doors, Dr. Chilton saw you waiting in the hall to ambush him, and braced himself for another soapbox diatribe.
Such a shame, he thought. He recalled how he had tried to make a good impression when you first met, but all his charm kept backfiring, and now you patently despised him. His failure to curry favor was nothing out of the ordinary, but unfortunately, he still had to deal with you. You were one of Crawford’s lackeys, and had made yourself inescapable since Will Graham’s arrest.
“You conniving, idiotic, condescending weasel!” you exploded upon the man with an expensive suit and gaudy cane. “How could you get on the stand and make that bullshit testimony? You don’t know anything about Will!” You withheld the fuck-you’s that time, out of professional courtesy.
He brushed you off and continued walking briskly down the hall, cane tapping on the polished floor, but you followed and walked alongside him.
“Do I need a restraining order against you?” Dr. Chilton said, bored.
You crossed your arms. “Oh, hah-hah.”
“What is it, then?” he sighed, slowing down. Trying to outpace you was more trouble than it was worth, thanks to the pinching of scar tissue in every stride. “I am extremely busy.”
“‘The confused man Will Graham presents to the world could not commit those crimes, because that man is a fiction,’” you quoted his testimony.
“Correct. Is that all?”
“Did you ever consider it’s because he didn’t commit those crimes? You know, being the only one who thinks Will is a psychopath doesn’t make you a genius, it makes you an idiot. Or do you know that, but you’ve just been pining have him locked up so you can study him?”
“Incredible. Mr. Graham has found a truly gullible fool to place under his thumb. I have never met anyone so susceptible to his manipulations. Have you ever been tested for personality disorders?” He regarded you like you were a lab rat with a lot of audacity to be squeaking at him (though to be fair, that was how he looked at almost everybody).
You burned to keep arguing, but he walked down the courthouse steps and got into an obtrusively fancy classic car. Your heart was racing. You weren’t finished with him.
  *****
You seemed to be the only sane person aware that the sweet, empathetic, dog-loving Will Graham was obviously being framed, and did your best to visit him as often as possible at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane.
Unfortunately, that meant dealing with its chief of staff.
Every time you visited Will, you ended up clashing with that pompous buffoon and his perfectly coiffed hair. He was notorious for his unethical practices, but since rich white assholes were incapable of being fired, it was your self-appointed job to protect Will from him.
Though, recently, you had to admit two things.
One: you may have been the tiniest bit biased by your fondness for Will, and two: your feelings toward Dr. Chilton had been softening.
Not long ago, Chilton had barely survived being tortured by a former patient, Abel Gideon. The sight of him on a medical gurney cradling his own internal organs in his arms was a horror that would be burned into your brain for life. He may have been an incompetent jerk whom Gideon had every right to want revenge on, but he didn’t deserve that.
You didn’t think he would survive, but in a few weeks, like magic, he was back to play Will’s jailer, a cane in hand but no other sign of the trauma he endured.
Too little sign of the trauma he endured, honestly. After all, he was only hurt because of his own meddling—using psychic driving to convince Gideon he was the Chesapeake Ripper in order to achieve the fame and glory of having treated the Chesapeake Ripper.
But no, he was still bursting full of egotistical remarks and ambition, if a little short on organs.
“I see the experience hasn’t humbled you one bit,” you commented upon his return, when he gloated about the accolades he would receive after writing a book about Will Graham.
“Funny, it almost sounds like you wanted me to be gutted,” he retorted in a pleasantly upbeat voice with a sharp undercurrent.
His rich-boy superiority complex did make it tempting to punch him in the face… but disembowelment was going too far.
Something changed after that. It used to be that you couldn’t wait to get away from him, but now you found yourself wanting to stay and fight longer, your cheeks burning with indignation. Days you weren’t visiting Will, you went to the mental hospital to crusade against Dr. Chilton over ethics and his lack thereof, just for the excuse to see him.
The two of you exchanged cutting banter the same as always, but you found yourself being more civil... or, at least, your heated arguments felt more playful. Sure, you still called him a dirty slimeball, but now it was a friendly roast and not because you hated his (slightly damaged) guts.
It was strange. Every time you argued your heart would pound against your chest in anticipation, but you couldn’t figure out why.
Your breaking point came when you barged into his office and discovered him spying on patients’ private conversations with visitors—headphones on, feet up on his desk, holding a Montblanc fountain pen in his mouth and swirling it with his tongue.
He didn’t startle at your unexpected entrance, as a person who feels shame might do when caught in the middle of something so sleazy. He was completely unrepentant about it. Sliding a headphone off one ear and picking up a glass of top-shelf scotch from his desk, he took a slow sip, and smugly asked, “Can I help you?”
What could you say to that? You felt your face heating up, so you turned on your heel without a word, and left. You finally understood what you had been feeling.
You always took him for a coward—the type who runs crying to mommy the moment his knee gets scraped. But he’d been tortured, brutally, and still wasn’t running away. He got more than what was coming to him, but he didn’t change his manipulative psychiatric practices or grating personality at all.
As infuriating as it was… his resilience was sexy.
Like a switch was flipped, every time you sniped insults at each other, instead of picturing strangling him with his tie, you imagined blindfolding him with it, tying him to a bed and spanking him with his cane. He had the cutest way of shimmying his shoulders when he was trying to be coy about a secret, and that smarmy little crooked smile he made when he thought he was winning used to infuriate you, but now it caused an aching between your thighs.
After weeks of this, he cornered you in an empty hallway. “Do not think I haven’t noticed you are here far more often than you need to be. You didn’t even talk to Will Graham the last two occasions you paid a visit. What is it, then? What’s your angle? Keeping an eye on me for Crawford?”
“Isn’t it obvious?,” you scoffed. “I want to fuck you.”
“Huh,” he vocalized with detachment.
You’d expected him to be flustered by the bold declaration, or to jump on you immediately. Not to coldly look you up and down like you’d handed him a strange puzzle piece to analyze.
It must have been a long time since he’d been intimate, considering his reputation as a Grade A piece of shit. But apparently he wasn’t that desperate.
To be honest, you weren’t even sure what his orientation was. You may have been completely off base.
“Fascinating, really. For someone who called me… what was it? A ‘morally corrupt assclown,’ you must be in a dire state to consider propositioning me. You know, as a respected psychiatrist, I can recommend some literature on sexual dysfunctions.”
A cold, satisfied smile spread over his thin lips and you realized if your attraction was one-sided, he held all the cards. You made the mistake of delivering him a massive advantage over you, and you were going to make a fool of yourself. He was relishing the power.
There was still time to backtrack on the vulnerability you’d accidentally exposed while he was still trying to figure out if you were joking. But you were around profilers, psychiatrists, and investigators with hidden agendas all day, and you grew weary of conversations having ten layers of meaning and obfuscation.
The honest truth was, it would be nice to get laid.
“Well? Are you interested or not?” You dropped your voice and stepped closer to him, inches from his face. He smelled so clean, like hospital antiseptic and spicy aftershave. His breath hitched as your leg brushed the inside of his thigh—that’s it, that was the reaction you wanted. “Do you want to fuck me, Dr. Chilton?”
Oh, he did.
A barely audible whine rose from the back of his throat, and his hands were around your waist. “I suppose so,” he said, still a little too clinically, though a hard bob of his Adam’s apple betrayed him. His eyes met yours. They were the color of an ocean wave crashing on the beach; an honest, North Atlantic wave that you might find at Chesapeake Bay—not some perfect crystal-blue wave from a tropical paradise. “It couldn’t hurt to let off some steam.”
“Precisely,” you nodded. Just two adults doing the logical thing. That’s right. No squishy vulnerable feelings that could be used against you. Just relieving tension.
He grabbed you by the wrist and dragged you hastily into the nearest unoccupied space. The door to the cramped supply closet clicked shut, and he leered at you with eyes that seemed to glow with hunger in the dark. You felt pleasantly like a small animal trapped with a wolf about to be devoured. A shiver of anticipation ran down your spine and sent heat rushing between your thighs. Before you knew it you were flipped standing with him pressed against your back, pumping into you with muffled moans—as frenzied with desperation as you’d fantasized he would be—as you braced against a metal shelf crammed with pens and packs of post-it notes.
He was strong. You had expected his suit to hide the flaccid body of a sedentary academic, fragranced of old books, but when he pulled your hips into his your body moved.
After finishing inside you with a ragged, tortured breath (barely choking back a too-vulnerable moan), he hastily zipped himself back into his pants and left you to clean yourself up on your own, without so much as a nod to ceremony or pleasantries. That was the end of that, you figured—exactly what you asked for, no more no less. Little did you know, Dr. Chilton had no intention of leaving things off at one quickie in a closet.
Before you left, he pulled you into his office and provoked you with lewd remarks about fucking you on his desk—so you knocked the clutter off it onto the floor to make room. He shrieked like a toddler as his very important papers and very expensive office décor went flying, having neither thought through the actual consequences of desk-sex nor expected you to call his bluff. His beautiful seawater eyes went wide as you pushed him back on the broad mahogany surface and climbed on top of him. Then you were riding him, chasing your climax with his well-manicured hands kneading your ass cheeks, pulling you deeper and deeper with each stroke of your hips. And still you wanted more. You wanted to fuck him into next week.
And then you were in his unreasonably lavish home, in his unreasonably, decadently oversized bed, his mouth feverishly working your heat, and you repaying him by making him come over and over until it was torture, until he could no longer hold back the whimpering sobs of pleasure as he fell apart, and he passed out from fatigue. You collapsed next to him on the bed, panting, sweating, and shaking with over-stimulation.
For a moment you considered the snoring body of an unsavory man you had exhausted into submission, lying naked and leaking fluids onto two-thousand-thread-count sheets, and briefly considered calling a cab. Then you went to the bathroom for a towel to wipe him off before curling yourself around him under the covers.
  *****
Morning found you nestling in his soft light brown chest hair, tracing your fingers along the raised red scar that divided a third of his torso like an autopsied cadaver. He flinched a little when you touched it, but remained impassive. A reservoir of sympathy swelled up within you.
“You pity me. That is why you wanted to sleep with me all of a sudden,” he said, deciphering the meaning of your look. “I’m not complaining. Apparently, to be fortunate in bed requires only that one be tragically disfigured. You are drawn to wounded birds.”
The corner of your lip screwed up like you swallowed something bitter. It’s… probably not healthy to desire someone purely out of pity, but he was right. You never felt anything for him until you felt sorry for him. But that wasn’t all there was to your relationship… was it?
“The instinct to nurture and the instinct to hurt are both strong human emotions. They’re primal,” you speculated.
“Trying your hand at psychoanalysis? I would leave it to the professionals, darling.”
“Would you?” You tilted your head innocently. “Then how come you’re still practicing?”
He clutched his chest and feigned being wounded.
Grinning, you buried your face back into his hair. “Arguing with you was always exciting… trying to land a stinging blow. Now I see you hurt, and I feel the need to protect you, too. You tickle my instincts, I suppose. Like cold ice cream on hot pie. What can I say?”
“Hmm, a plausible hypothesis,” he nodded idly at the ceiling, one brow lifted. “I’m not sure that that is any better, but as previously mentioned, your motivations are not of particular interest to me.”
“Charming. Let me phrase it another way, then: You have a very punchable face, but since you’ve already been eviscerated, it takes the fun out of it.”
“Well, and I was going to offer you breakfast…”

2x07: The Usual Suspects
Then:
Tumblr media
Sam and Dean Winchester, professional grifters
Now:
Baltimore, Maryland
The cops have finally caught up with Sam and Dean Winchester. The SWAT team surrounds their motel room and takes them into custody. One cops sums up all of Dean’s killer ways at his interrogation. Dean is unaffected.  (Because he’s not a killer.)
Tumblr media
Sam, meanwhile, gets the good cop for his interrogation.
Tumblr media
She reads off Sam’s life story to him and he lays on the Winchester snark in return. They’re trying to break this straight A student to get more information on his derelict older brother.
Sam starts talking.
Flashback to why Sam and Dean were in Baltimore when they got caught. John and a man who recently died,Tony Giles, were old friends. They were hunting an invisible killer. (And for the record, it’s clear that Cas is Scully. Sam is Skinner, third-wheeling the far more compelling duo the whole way.)
Sam tells the cop that they weren’t even in town when Tony died.
Tumblr media
They went to visit Tony’s widow, Karen (and secret publisher of Sam and Dean’s life story!). Dean asks if Tony talked about anything strange in his life before he died. She mentions he had a nightmare about a woman with red eyes.
Sam and Dean then were spotted breaking into Tony’s office. They’re thinking a vengeful spirit. Dean finds a bunch of papers with the words “danashulps”
Tumblr media
Sam then finds the name finger-smudged on Tony’s glass desk. They look but can’t find that name anywhere.
Dean goes to ask Karen if she knows anything about this name. Sam tells the cop that he went to make sure she was doing okay. Sam stayed to crack Tony’s computer password but tells the cop that he went back to the hotel.
Twist! Apparently, Karen is dead too! The cop tells Sam that the brothers separated because Dean was heading to murder Karen. The 911 call indicated that someone was in the house with Karen.
We get a flashback of Karen seeing a woman in the window of her house. She runs upstairs and calls 911.
Tumblr media
Her phone disconnects, her lights flicker and then her printer starts printing “danashulps’. She heads to her closet to pull out a flashlight, and turns around to find the woman!
Dean knocks on her door some time later. When she doesn’t respond, he lets himself in. The lights aren’t working. He finds her dead on her bedroom floor. He notices bruising on her wrists. And that’s when the cops find him.
Tumblr media
The coppers reunite to confirm that the brothers’ stories match. Good Cop tells Bad Cop that they have to get Sam to flip on his brother or they don’t really have a case —no murder weapon, no motive.Bad Cop insists that this case is in the bag. They’ve got Dean’s prior in St. Louis after all. Good Cop —now known as Diana—informs the audience that Bad Cop was good friends with Giles. Also, Diana and Bad Cop are in a secret office romance.
While Dean waits out his interrogation, he stews over the name “danashulps”.
Tumblr media
He guesses that it’s not a name. Sam, who has access to a pen and paper, starts the anagram game. Dean plays the game in his head AND HE’S MY SMART BOY FOR IT. Dean’s public defender, Jeff Krause shows up then. Dean doesn’t seem to care that someone within the legal world has come to help him —he just needs a pen and paper. He breaks down the word and asks Jeff if he recognizes anything. Jeff worries that Dean isn’t taking this seriously.
Tumblr media
Jeff points out that Ashland is a street name in the area. Dean asks if he can see Sam.
Diana is typing up the police report when suddenly her computer starts writing “danashulps” over and over again. It only happens for a few seconds, the screen filling with seemingly nonsense characters, and then it reverts back to normal again.
Jeff visits with Sam and hands him over the paper from Dean pointing out that Ashland is a street. Before he can get into Sam’s defense case, he’s called back to Dean’s holding room. Dean’s decided to confess!
Tumblr media
In one quick line, Dean yoinks the rug out from under the cops. “I did not kill anyone,” he states at the start of his purported confession, but he knows who did it. “Our working theory is that we’re looking for some kind of a vengeful spirit.” This goes over just as well as you might imagine with most of the cops. But Diana sees the DANASHULPS scrawled on his sheet of paper and has an OH NO moment. When they accuse him of the murders in Saint Louis, he casually tells them it was a shapeshifter.
Tumblr media
With Dean Winchester written off as a lost cause, they head in to question Sam. To their surprise, he’s escaped! Diana finds Dean’s letter about Ashland and I SHAKE MY HEAD AT YOUNG SAM WINCHESTER for leaving a clue for the cops.
In the ladies room, Diana discovers the overhead lights are out. All the taps turn on, steaming hot to fog up the mirrors so Ghosty can write her catch phrase on the glass. The ghost also spectral projects herself to Diana, mouth moving like she’s trying to say something. Shaken, Diana heads back to talk to Dean “Crazy Occult Guy” Winchester.
Tumblr media
Dean tells her that vengeful spirits originate from violent deaths. My Smartest Buttercup notices that Diana has fresh bruises encircling her wrists. She doesn’t remember getting them. Dean warns her that death is stalking her now, and tells her to seek Sam’s help for protection against the spirit.
At Sam’s motel, she gives him the lowdown and shows him the bruises on her wrists. Sam gives her a stack of victim photos to see if any of them match the ghost. Diana identifies Claire Becker as the ghost. She was a heroin dealer in life, and might be targeting Diana for her narcotics work. Sam and Diana team up to salt and burn Claire’s body at an abandoned store on Ashland. Claire makes an appearance during the search, but only seems to want to reveal herself to Diana. They find the mystery word - it’s Ashland - and a half erased word fragment. Sam busts out the wall the clues have pointed them towards. They haul out Claire’s body. Around her neck, there’s a necklace. Diana knows it well...because she’s wearing an identical necklace!!! Her office romance Pete gave it to her. DUN dun dun. Sam concludes that Claire isn’t killing anybody. Instead, her spirit is functioning as a death omen.
Tumblr media
The killer...is PETE. Diana’s a quick thinker, and remembers that heroin went missing from evidence a year ago. Pete would have used Claire to fence the drugs, and later killed her.
Cut to Pete driving Dean Winchester to parts unknown at two in the morning. Dean’s a quick thinker too, and realizes he’s about to be murdered by a crooked cop. Dean gets hauled from the van. Welp. Looks like he shall meet his end in a sloppy cop drama!
Tumblr media
Diana confronts Pete, who tries to blame Claire’s death on...Claire for trying to turn Pete in. He spills everything. The other guy who died was in on the scheme, and Pete killed his wife for good measure. Pete insists that killing Dean - “one more dead scumbag” - is the best approach. I hiss, and fist bump Dean when he tries to defend himself against the “scumbag” accusation. Diana shoots Pete somewhere nonlethal, but Pete still manages to get the upper hand. Claire appears to him then and smirking, draws Pete’s full attention. Diana shoots him clean through the chest.
Afterwards, Diana asks about Claire. “She should be at rest,” Sam assures her. I...side-eye this young man and then let it go because it IS the television show, Supernatural, after all.
Tumblr media
Diana tells them the cover story: Pete confessed to her before his death, and the suspects escaped. Dean and Sam head out to rescue Baby, and we get a wink at Diana’s (Linda Blair) Exorcist acting legacy in case you missed it.
What an Excellent Quote for an Exorcism:
You want me to turn against my own brother?
I'm not Scully, you're Scully
My name is Dean Winchester. I'm an Aquarius. I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach, and frisky women

single moments from the Trump presidency that would have defined/ended any other politician’s career
- saying he could “buy Greenland” - suggesting it was a good idea to nuke hurricanes - saying there would be fewer forest fires if we just got rid of all the leaves - asking Trudeau if Canada had tried to burn down the White House - autographing pictures of shooting victims - when he kept talking about how they drop bowling balls on cars to test them in japan and no one could figure out where he could have even gotten the idea - when he suggested Seoul should just move away from the North Korean border - introducing West Virginia’s governor as ‘the largest, most beautiful man’ - when he tweeted SEE YOU IN COURT! right after an appeals court ruled against him. like. yeah man. they just did. - the time he didn't know how to close an umbrella so he just dropped it and walked away - fighting with the Vietnam vets over whether napalm or agent orange is used in the Ride of the Valkyries scene in Apocalypse Now and then when they insisted it was napalm, Trump said they disagreed with him because they didn't like the movie (The line is famously, literally “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.”) - using his position as the single most powerful person in the world to promote Goya canned beans - when he bragged about the crowd size at the hurricane shelter in coastal Texas (”what a turnout”) - signing Bibles. What. - thinking the F-22 is invisible to the naked eye - smiling and giving a thumbs up during a photo op with a baby orphaned by a mass shooting - putting a candy bar on a Minion’s head because he’s never interacted with a child before -  when he interpreted some stray comment about transparency in the process to mean his border wall should literally be transparent, so passersby are not beaned by bundles of drugs and cans being thrown over the wall - the time he talked about having to flush his massive dumps 10 times and then immediately tried to blame the dumps on his supporters - the fake Sharpee’d hurricane map, which he did solely to not appear wrong on television - suggesting that federal employees working unpaid during the gov shutdown should just “do a work around” at the grocery store if they can’t pay for groceries - the fucking eclipse thing - the fucking three-pointers with paper towels to Puerto Rican hurricane victims - when he told thousands of Boy Scouts a story about his rich friend's fuckboat and then complained about Hilary for the remainder of the speech - when the called the CEO of Lockheed Martin “Marilyn Lockheed” (her last name is Hewson) which was objectively funnier than “Tim Apple” - when he picked an argument with Baltic world leaders because he thought the Baltics were the Balkans - the first time his team had a meeting in the cabinet room they couldn’t figure out how to turn on the lights and ended up just having the meeting in the dark -  The time he said Andrew Jackson was "really angry that he saw what was happening with regard to the Civil War, he said 'There's no reason for this.'" (Jackson died 16 years before the Civil War, and he owned 150 slaves.) - told a 7-year-old boy there was no Santa Claus on Christmas - the team of staffers whose only job was to tape back together documents he had torn up because he’s just THAT used to destroying evidence, because they couldn’t get him to stop ripping them up, but legally, the documents had to be archived - when he said the Continental Army took over the British airports during the Revolution - no sanctions on Russian soldiers killing American soldiers - “I take no responsibility for this pandemic.” - when touring the damage the Louisiana gulf coast after Hurricane Laura (just a few months ago!), he started giving first responders autographed pieces of paper, which he told them to sell on eBay for $10,000 - when he thought "clean coal" meant that the miners dug it out of the ground and physically cleaned it - the goddamn fast food catering - trying to trick the family of a teen killed by a US diplomat's wife who fled justice into meeting her, Ellen-style - pushing the Prime Minister of Montenegro out of the way to preen - that time he called into Fox & Friends and ranted for so long that they politely but firmly kicked him off - hiring an Obama impersonator solely to berate him - having a button installed on his desk that let him order Diet Coke on a whim. And sometimes using that button upwards of 13 times a day. - that time when a kid handed him a hat to sign, and he signed the hat, but instead of handing it back, he just threw it into the middle of the crowd - autographing the guestbook at the Holocaust memorial, with an added “had such a great time!” - when he zoned out and wondered where a woman's dead relatives were DIRECTLY after she had said her mother six brothers were killed. (Actual exchange: “They killed my mother, my six brothers...” “Where are they now?”) - sending 2,000 soldiers to the border to stop “the caravan,” having their pictures taken, and then recalling them all. - consoling a dead soldier’s family by saying “he knew what he was getting into.” - when he said no one could climb over the border wall because there would be no way down, and then belatedly remembered rope - when he congratulated the Great Lakes on their "record deepness" - calling Elizabeth Warren “Pocahontas” at an event meant to honor Navajo code talkers  - “Shithole countries” - calling Baltimore “rat-infested” - tweeting “too bad!” right after Elijah Cummings’ house was broken into - calling the White House “a dump” a month into moving in, which led to first both him and Melania, and then just Melania by herself, staying in Trump Tower for almost 5 months, costing taxpayers around $100,000 a day - an entire quarter of his presidency spent on his own golf courses, costing taxpayers around $141,000,000, NOT counting the Secret Service detail (they were charged for rooms and golf carts, since these were Trump’s OWN golf courses) - using “Pocahontas” again to slur Elizabeth Warren while talking down to a Native American journalist - holding a rally in Pittsburgh and trying to woo the locals by ranting about how the statue of Joe Paterno, the accused pedophilia enabler who was coach of a rival sports team, should go back up - confusingly having bigger salt and pepper shakers than everyone else in his administration, because everything to him is a dick-measuring contest - when he said he would “run in and take care of” school shooters, to school shooting victims - appointing fucking DeVos, Miller, Pompeo, Mnuchin, Nunes - inciting a seditious white supremacist mob to make sure he’s president until he’s 85, resulting in 5 dead (for which I am constantly wondering...”really? FOR THIS GUY?”) - drafted a proposal to open 94% of previously protected American shorelines to offshore drilling - when he walked up the stairs to Air Force One with toilet paper stuck to his shoe -  at least 44 times in March, April and early May in which he downplayed the threat of the virus calling it “very well under control” again and again - when somebody asked him his favorite book and he pointed at a bookshelf and said “there are some over there” - meeting with the goddamn MyPillow guy to discuss overturning election results and declaring martial law - impeached twice, was golfing both times the vote went through - 70 pardons for known criminals (including Bannon), 70 sentences commuted, just to be a spiteful little toad - when he blathered on about how much he loved the queen, the totally hacked her off - when Hope Hicks steamed his pants as he was wearing them - getting mad-pissed at White House kitchen staff because they couldn’t recreate McDonald’s and it was too late to order  and I wonder how much I missed. I bet there’s a McSweeney’s article listing all of it.

The Names of Different Coffee Drinks
Coffee drinks have many different names that come from many sources. Coffee houses have 64 drink selections they agree have the same basic recipe. Some of these drinks have different names or have a number of variations. A good barista is one who knows how to make them all.
Affogato is Italian for drowned. This can be a drink or served as a dessert a drink or dessert with espresso that may also incorporate caramel sauce or chocolate sauce.
The Baltimore is an equal mix of decaffeinated and caffeinated brewed coffee while the Black Eye is dripped coffee with a double shot of espresso creating a strong taste.
The Black Tie is a traditional Thai Iced Tea, which is a spicy and sweet mixture of chilled black tea, orange blossom water, star anise, crushed tamarind, sugar and condensed milk or cream, with a double shot of espresso.
The Breven is made with steamed half and half cream while the Caffè Americano or simply Americano is prepared by adding hot water to espresso, giving a similar strength, but different flavor from regular drip coffee. The strength of an Americano varies with the number of shots of espresso added. Variations include the Long Black, Lungo and Red eye.
The European Café au Lait is a continental tradition known by different names, but is the most popular drink in European coffee houses. It is made using strong or bold coffee as well as espresso that is mixed with scalded milk in a 1 to 1 ratio.
Cafe Bombon was made popular in Valencia, Spain and modified to suit European tastes and many parts of Asia such as Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. The basic European recipe uses espresso served with sweetened condensed milk in a 1 to 1 ratio. The Asian version uses coffee and sweetened condensed milk at the same ratio. For visual effect, a glass is used, to create two separate bands of contrasting color.
In America, the Caffe Latte is a portion of espresso and steamed milk, generally in a 2 to 1 ratio of milk to espresso, with a little foam on top. This beverage was popularized by large coffee chains such as Starbucks.
The Cafe Medici starts with a double shot of espresso extracted using a double filter basket in a portafilter that is poured over chocolate syrup and orange or lemon peel, which is usually topped with whipped cream. This drink originated at Seattle's historic Last Exit on Brooklyn coffeehouse.
A Cafe Melange is a black coffee mixed or covered with whipped cream. This drink is most popular in Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
A Cafe Miel has a shot of espresso, steamed milk, cinnamon, and honey. Miel is honey in Spanish.
Coffee milk is similar to chocolate milk; but coffee syrup is used instead. It is the official state drink of Rhode Island in the United States.
A Cafe mocha or Mocha is a variant of a caffe latte, but a portion of chocolate is added, typically in the form of chocolate syrup. When bought from a vending system, instant chocolate powder is used. Mochas can contain dark or milk chocolate.
Moccaccino is a term used in some regions of Europe and the Middle East to describe caffe latte with cocoa or chocolate. In the U.S., it usually refers to a cappuccino made with chocolate.
Cafe Zorro is a double espresso added to hot water in a 1 to 1 ratio.
Ca phe sua da is a unique Vietnamese coffee recipe that means iced milk coffee. Mix black coffee with about a quarter to a half as much sweetened condensed milk, pour over ice. Phe sua nong means hot milk coffee, which excludes ice. In Spain, a similar drink is called Cafe del Tiempo, hot, or Cafe con Hielo, ice.
Cappuccino is a coffee-based drink prepared with espresso, hot milk, and steamed milk foam. It is served in a porcelain cup, which has far better heat retention. The foam on top of the cappuccino acts as an insulator to help retain the heat, allowing it to stay hotter longer.
The Caramel Machiatto or C-Mac is a vanilla latte with foam and gooey caramel drizzled on top, while Chai Latte notes that the steamed milk of a normal cafè latte is being flavored with a spiced tea concentrate.
A Chocolate Dalmatian is a white chocolate mocha topped with java chip and chocolate chip while Cinnamon Spice Mocha is mixed cinnamon syrup, topped with foam and cinnamon powder.
A Cortado, Pingo or Garoto is an espresso with a small amount of warm milk to reduce the acidity. The ratio of milk or steamed milk to coffee is between 1 to 1 to 1 to 2. Milk is added after the espresso is made.
Decaf is a beverage made with decaffeinated beans while a Dirty Chai is Chai tea made with a single shot of espresso.

Guillermo was originally made with one or two shots of hot espresso, poured over slices of lime or on ice; sometimes served with a touch of milk.
Another seasonal blend, a Gingerbread Latte consists of steamed milk, espresso, gingerbread syrup, topped with a pinched of nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla powder.
Greek frappé coffee is a foam-covered iced coffee drink made from spray-dried instant coffee. It is a very popular Greek summer drink.
A Green Eye, also known as Triple Death, is dripped coffee with a triple shot of espresso.

Mochasippi is prepared by baristas in coffee houses in southern states. Similar to the Mocha, but a Mochasippi contains actual shots of espresso rather than a powdered instant coffee.
Pumpkin Spice Latte is a Fall seasonal blend of steamed milk, espresso, sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, topped with foam and a pinch of pumpkin pie spice.
Pocillo is a shot or small portion of unsweetened coffee, now usually made either using an espresso machine or a moka maker, but traditionally made using a cloth drip and served in cups made for the purpose in Latin America.
Raspberry Mocha is a regular mocha with raspberry flavoring.
Red Eye is a dripped coffee with a single shot of espresso while a Red Tie is a traditional Thai Iced Tea, a spicy and sweet mixture of chilled black tea, orange blossom water, star anise, crushed tamarind, sugar and condensed milk or cream along with a single shot of espresso.
A Red Tux is a Zebra Mocha with raspberry flavoring.

Skinny Latte is a reduced calorie latte made with steamed non-fat milk and artificial sweeteners, such as Splenda or Equal. A Soy Latte is a latte made with steamed soy milk.
A Torpedo is made by placing the froth from steamed milk in cup with espresso coffee falling though the froth. The torpedo creates a very clean and distinct flavor for those who prefer a stronger taste of espresso than through conventional cappuccino.
Triple C's combines Cinnamon Dolce Latte with caramel syrup and chocolate syrup.
Turkish coffee is made by immersing the coffee grounds in water that is hot but not boiling long enough to dissolve the flavorsome compound. In Turkey, sweetness used is from a pinch to two teaspoons. Pouring that creates the most foam is considered the best cup.
Vienna coffee is the name of a popular traditional cream based coffee beverage. Made by preparing two shots of strong black espresso in a coffee cup, it is infused with whipped cream until the cup is full; then topped with more cream and chocolate sprinklings.
White Chocolate Mocha or sometimes referred to as White Mocha and is a sweet mixture espresso, steamed milk, white chocolate syrup. This sugary drink is often topped with whipped cream.
Yuanyang, sometimes also called Ying Yong, is a popular beverage in Hong Kong. Made of a mixture of coffee and Hong Kong-style milk tea, it is served hot or cold. Yuanyang means pair of two unlike items as used in this drink.
Zebra Mocha, sometimes known as a Black Tux, is a mixture of regular mocha with a white chocolate mocha.
Local drinks add to the variety of coffee drinks covered here as do new creations whether by customers or by baristas themselves. If they become known around the world, they will join the list above.

well PAIGE you may have been ONTO something here. alex is in LA because he loves his boy next question
read it here on ao3
-
Death By Hug is not a bad way to go, Jack thinks. It certainly beats Death By Loneliness.
The longer he and Alex stand here, the more Jack wonders if they really are going to die here, holding onto each other like Alex is a soldier returning from war and Jack is his lover who's been writing constantly to the front lines. Or something. It's also possible Jack has watched too many war movies lately.
"We gotta move," Alex finally mumbles. They’re at the gate and people are stepping around them.
"We don't have to."
"Well, I can't kiss you with a mask on."
That is a very good point. Jack squeezes Alex one last time and finally steps back.
Los Angeles looks good on Alex.
-
Supposedly, Alex is here to write. It's not like that's a lie; they are going to take advantage of Alex's presence and log as many studio hours as possible, but that still leaves a lot of early mornings and late nights unaccounted for. Well. For Jack it does. He knows Alex has been dying to get back in the studio, to put words to music in a way that sounds less like a kid messing around on his dad's guitar and more like a professional musician making demos. But if Jack has to pull Alex from the studio by force, he will.
He will do his best. He is definitely not stronger than Alex but he will try.
For now, though, they have the evening to themselves.
Even with a suitcase, Alex looks right at home in Jack's place. "I'm gonna put my stuff in your room," he tells Jack, and Jack just nods.
"I'm gonna have some cereal," he decides, because he's in the mood for cereal and it is his right as a grown-ass man to eat cereal at all hours. Alex just laughs as he heads towards Jack's room, and Jack grins.
He heads for the kitchen and spends a minute deliberating over what cereal to have before yielding to the eternal power of Fruity Pebbles. They’re practically calling his name. Jack’s strong, but not that strong.
As he’s pouring the cereal into a cup, arms snake around his waist, squeezing tight.
“Hello, cereal boy,” says Alex, tucking his chin into Jack’s shoulder. “Mm, Fruity Pebbles for dinner. You’re the master of health.”
“Yes I am,” Jack says. “This is how they do it in L.A., Al.”
“Who exactly is ‘they’?”
“Me and Bree.”
Alex laughs. “Man, L.A. has really changed.”
“Maybe you should spend more time here.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Alex says. “Next global pandemic I’ll be sure to quarantine here with you.”
Jack shakes his head, smiling a little. “That’s all I want to hear. Do you want some cereal?”
“I was thinking we could order a pizza.”
“Oh, pizza,” Jack says, hesitating with his cup of cereal in hand. “Pizza sounds good.” He shrugs one shoulder. “I can have both.”
“You’re the weirdest person ever,” Alex says as Jack sets the cup down and turns around, forcing Alex to loosen his grip. The moment hits Jack full-force; it hadn’t really sunk in until now, but Alex is here. Here. In Los Angeles. With Jack.
Alex is here.
“I’m so fucking happy you’re here,” Jack says. Alex’s smile grows, the way it always does following any kind of emotion from Jack. It’s been weeks since Jack has seen that smile in person, weeks since Jack has seen Alex in person, and he’d forgotten how good it feels to be the reason for it.
FaceTime is good, but nothing is as good as the real thing.
“Well, I’m really fucking happy to be here,” Alex says, pulling Jack closer with the hands around his waist. “I’ve missed you.”
“Yes,” Jack says. “Same. Me too. I feel like I’m going to wake up any second.”
“What, and this will all be a dream?”
“Yes,” Jack says emphatically. It could be. He’s had similar dreams. Granted, he’s never eating Fruity Pebbles in any of them, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
“Me being here?” Alex asks, sliding his hands up Jack’s sides and chest to come to rest on his shoulders. “Or the whole pandemic?”
“I wish I could wake up and have the pandemic be a dream,” Jack huffs. “Or nightmare. Worst nightmare of my entire life.” He’s gotten a little bit off-track, but to be fair, Alex is being very distracting, what with the brushing noses and hands under the collar of his shirt and everything. Jack has yet to build up an immunity to Alex Gaskarth. This is something he has in common with the entire rest of the world.
Alex kisses him. Jack stops thinking about whatever it was he was thinking about. The important thing is that Alex is here and it’s not a dream, and Jack has Fruity Pebbles and his boyfriend and potentially pizza on the way and several hours of nothing at all, to occupy themselves however they choose. The possibilities are endless.
“Doesn’t feel like a dream to me,” Alex says sweetly, pulling back.
“You’re so mean,” Jack says. “Are you saying I’m not your dream guy?”
He gets an eyeroll for his troubles, but then Alex agrees to order the pizza, leaving Jack to eat his cereal in peace instead of having to deal with phones and Other People. Normally he’s a fan of Other People, but tonight it’s all Alex.
(As far as Jack is concerned, as long as Alex is here, every night is all Alex.)
-
The pizza arrives as they’re half an hour into rewatching the first episode of The Mandalorian. This is the first and last time they pause until Alex yawns, and Jack realizes that midnight in L.A. is three in the morning in Maryland.
“Bedtime,” he declares. If Alex weren’t as nocturnal as he is, he probably wouldn’t have even made it to midnight. As it is, he drags his feet every step from the living room couch to Jack’s bedroom, including his detours to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Jack cleans up a little in the meantime, breaking down the pizza box to dispose of it and rinsing all the dishes for easier cleanup in the morning. The responsible thing would be to wash them now, but Jack can’t find any reason to be responsible. It’s his own home. He’ll wash dishes when he chooses.
By the time he’s turned all the apartment lights off and shuffled into his room, Alex is curled up under the blanket. His eyes are closed like he’s asleep but he’s breathing like he’s awake. Jack putters around, quietly putting on his own pajamas and brushing his teeth, before he, too, climbs into bed.
As predicted, Alex turns over. “Wh’time are we waking up?” he slurs.
Jack reaches blindly for his phone, plugged in on the side table. “Dunno. What time are we going to the studio?”
“Ten?”
Jack sets an alarm for nine, though it’s more for Alex’s sake than his own. “Okay. Done.”
“Love you,” Alex mumbles, burrowing into Jack’s chest. Jack smiles — he has his own stupid Alex smile for when Alex is being lovably, adorably, uniquely Alex — and pulls the blankets up over him.
“Love you,” he hums, pressing a kiss into Alex’s hair. The quiet moment swells around them both. Jack falls asleep fast. He’s holding Alex close in his dreams, too, like even his subconscious can’t come up with anything better than this.
-
It’s hour nine in the studio, and Jack is ready to call it.
They’ve gotten a lot done. It feels good to be back, or as “back” as this is, back in the studio, back to writing music. Alex has obviously been overflowing with ideas from being cooped up at his farm in Baltimore, which has led to an extremely productive studio day. Hardly half an hour has passed without someone picking up a guitar.
For the first eight hours, Jack is totally invested. This is his lifeblood, too, and by now he probably has a hundred separate voice notes of guitar riffs and chord progressions that he hadn’t wanted to forget. Getting those off of his phone and into real recordings is a big sigh of relief.
Also, he and Alex are really good together.
This has been pretty reliably true throughout their career, but somehow it never fails to give Jack a thrill. Watching Alex’s eyes light up as Jack plays through Lead Guitar Part #37; his rapid “waitwaitwait play that again” as he pulls out his phone to scroll through lyrics jotted down in transient moments of thought; the spark that catches when somehow Alex has the perfect line to sing over this four-note riff that’s been echoing around Jack’s empty apartment for weeks. It feels a little like fate every time. Alex can drive a lyrical stake through an elusive melody like no other.
The progress today has been sufficient, so Jack thinks now is a good time to bow out, before they run out of steam. Quit while they’re ahead. There’s always tomorrow and the next day. Nine hours is a respectable studio day, and if today is any indication, they could have a song or two tomorrow at this rate.
It’s just, Jack wants to go home. He’s not going to say it — at least not yet — because Alex is still operating at full capacity. But he’s thinking it. If anyone asks, he won’t hesitate.
When Alex glances over, Jack is pretty sure it’s written all over his face.
“You okay, JB?” Alex says. His eyes soften around the edges when he smiles. It’s completely unfair. Just like Jack to have the most irresistible boyfriend on the planet. Perfect for being in love with, but extremely difficult for saying no to.
“Tired,” Jack says, biting his lip. The guitar he’s holding has been idling on his lap for about twenty minutes, ignored by Jack, who’s been on Instagram instead. Finally he sets it aside. “Just think I’m done for today.” As a compromise, he adds, “If you guys have another half hour, I don’t mind.”
“No, that’s okay,” Alex says. He glances at Zakk, who’s fucking with the levels or something. “Yeah? You think? Good for today?”
“Yeah,” Zakk says. He tilts his head bizarrely to flash a grin at Jack. “Man, it feels good to be back here with you guys.”
“Dude, don’t even start,” Jack says. “I think if I had spent another day alone at my place I would’ve probably, I don’t know, started trying to learn Korean or something.”
“Why fucking Korean?”
“Exactly.” Jack points at him, then at Alex, who jumps out of the rolly chair he’s been occupying and grabs Jack’s finger. Jack shakes his head, smiling, as Alex laces their fingers together and ducks down to kiss his forehead. “Is that a yes, we can call it?”
“I can call it,” Alex says. “Cervini?”
“Yeah,” Zakk says. “Let’s call it.”
And that’s that for the day.

The stupid TikTok they’d made on the way to the studio has, predictably, blown up.
Jack can’t stop watching it; it’s a little bit cringey but that’s the point, and also, Alex looks insanely good in the red flannel and that yellow beanie. Maybe their merch is designed specifically to look good on Alex. Probably. Not that that’s difficult. Basically everything looks good on Alex.
“Stop watching it, oh my God,” Alex says, crawling into bed on top of Jack and flattening him against the mattress. Jack makes varying noises of protest as Alex pries his phone out of his hand, turns it off, and tosses it aside, forcing Jack’s attention instead to Alex’s face.
If he looks good onscreen, it’s nothing compared to real life.
“Lose some weight,” Jack grunts, shifting to tip them both onto their sides. They’re forehead-to-forehead, one of Alex’s arms trapped under Jack’s side and the other slung over his waist. “You’re not twenty-one anymore.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, are you complaining?” Alex licks Jack’s cheek, and Jack’s protest of Alex, gross! is lost in Alex’s laugh. “Sorry. That was gross. I’ve just missed you.”
“Weird fuckin’ way of showing it,” Jack says, grinning. “I thought we kinda did this yesterday. We spent the entire day together. And I’ve missed you too.” He hesitates. “You could just stay here, you know.”
Except he couldn’t, and they both know that. Alex has a farm to tend to. He’ll be here as long as they’ve got time in the studio but then he’ll be gone, back to Baltimore. Growing up sucks sometimes. It means Jack has to be mature about Alex having a life of his own. If he expects Alex to respect his decision to stay in L.A., then Jack has to respect Alex’s decision to stay in Maryland. Which he does. He does.
But he also misses his boyfriend a hell of a lot. These days it’s worse than ever. They’ve never really been apart this long.
“Come on,” Alex says, smile flickering. “Don’t.”
“I know. I’m sorry,” Jack says. He sighs. “I take it back. I don’t want you to stay anyway. I don’t even want you in L.A. at all. Who invited you here? What are you doing in my house?”
Alex laughs. He extracts his arm from underneath Jack and runs his hand through Jack’s hair, slotting their legs together. “Cheapest listing on Airbnb. I was told there would be free sexual services?”
“Uh, I don’t know about free,” Jack says. He smirks and steals a kiss off Alex’s lips. “You can repay me by doing household chores.”
“Then it’s just fucking prostitution.”
“That,” says Jack, “is true.” Alex scratches lightly against the side of his face, and the kiss he draws Jack into is so sweet that Jack contemplates never ever breaking it. This is all he needs in life, just Alex — anywhere, but especially here. Jack has never found his apartment to be bleak, but now that he knows how vibrant it can be, how warm and lively when inhabited by Alex, he suspects it will feel grim when he’s alone again.
Thinking about the future gets dangerous. He’d much rather stay in the now. Alex is still kissing him, drawing Jack nearer in such a familiar way that when Jack closes his eyes he can almost hear the rumbling of the tour bus and the low murmurs of conversation happening outside their bunk. They’ve found themselves in this position too many times to count over the years, using the excuse of a small bunk to press together like they didn’t do exactly the same in two-person hotel room beds. It’s been too long since Jack has had anyone to cling to in bed. Comfort settles like a talisman in his chest.
They’re not twenty-one anymore, but sometimes it still feels like they could be. It was easier for the years to blur together when they were spent largely chasing their way across the globe. These days, the contrast between then and now feels blindingly stark. It’s nice to sink into something this familiar. Almost like Alex is pulling him back in time, too.
Or maybe like Alex is pulling the past into the present. Jack doesn’t feel twenty-one. He feels thirty-two and still in love with Alex. Eleven years from now, he’ll probably feel just the same. The way that Alex kisses him, holding him close, has nothing to do with how old they are. It’s only familiar because nothing has changed; Alex loved him then and Alex loves him now.
Their love grows, but it never wavers.
Alex doesn’t pull away so much as just tilt his head until they’re not kissing anymore, tucking his face into Jack’s chest. “I’m tired,” he announces. Jack could basically have guessed that. It’s only eleven, but in Maryland time it’s two in the morning.
“I know,” says Jack. “That’s why we’re in bed. To sleep.”
“Really, you want to sleep now?” Alex sounds surprised. “It’s not even midnight.”
“I am capable of having a responsible sleep schedule sometimes, you know.”
“That doesn’t sound like the Jack I know.”
You haven’t been around for a while, Jack doesn’t say. “Shut up, you bully. I take care of myself.” He makes a face. “Also I want to sleep when you do. I don’t think that’s a crime.”
“I’d love that,” Alex says. His words come out muffled. “I love you. Have I told you today that I love you?”
“No,” Jack says, smiling.
“Liar. I’m sure I did. But I’m telling you again. I love you.” Somehow Alex’s grip on Jack becomes even tighter. Prying him off is going to be a difficult task, if Jack can muster up the willpower to do it. It won’t be easy. This is probably Jack’s favorite position to be in, tangled up with Alex. It doesn’t hurt to hear Alex repeating, “I love you, you’re my favorite, I’m so happy I’m here,” quietly, almost as if to himself.
“You need to put on your pajamas,” Jack says.
“I don’t wanna,” Alex whines. “I can sleep like this. Tour life. Too busy for pajamas.”
“So rock ‘n’ roll,” Jack says dryly.
“Yes. Exactly. I’m too cool for school.”
“Yeah. Really badass of you to fall asleep in a flannel.” Jack kisses Alex’s shoulder over the plaid pattern. “Which, may I say, looks very good on you.”
Alex hums contentedly. “See, that’s why I love you. Ego boost.”
“You are the most lead singer to ever lead singer. Jesus Christ.”
“Damn right I am, baby! Own it. I gotta own it.”
“Everything you say just dates you more. You sound so old.”
“You’re exactly as old as I am, old man,” Alex says, trying and failing to kick Jack even though Jack has both of his legs trapped.
“Old men put pajamas on before sleeping,” Jack informs him. “The buttons on this thing will be so uncomfortable to sleep in.”
“Yeah, but consider this,” says Alex, in the tone of someone about to make an extremely good point. “I don’t care and I’m tired.”
Jack sighs. “Seriously, you really wanna sleep in your clothes?”
“Yes,” Alex says. He buries his face in Jack’s neck, softly humming. When he speaks, Jack’s skin buzzes. “Please? Just tonight? I’m sleepy. Being a grown-up is for losers.”
Jack smiles to himself. “You’re such a lazy boy.”
“Yes. I am a lazy boy. This sounds like you agreeing.”
“I can’t stop you, can I?”
“Nope,” Alex says cheerfully. “But you can support me.”
“I support you all the time. I am literally the lead guitarist of your band. How much more supportive can I get.”
Alex laughs. It’s a tired laugh, on the brink of falling asleep, and Jack likes that he’s managed to make it happen at all. “It’s our band.”
“Comrade.”
Alex snorts. “Comrade.” He kisses Jack’s neck. “I’m gonna fall asleep right here, if that’s cool.”
“Get under the covers at least,” Jack says. It takes a little bit of bitching and moaning, but eventually Alex concedes, unsticking himself from Jack like it’s a physical burden to do so and crawling under the blanket with Jack.
“Oh,” Alex says, fishing around on the mattress underneath him. He pulls out Jack’s phone. “This is yours.”
Jack plugs in his phone and sets the same alarm he used yesterday. Loudly announcing that “boy is asleep” cuts out the lights. In the dark and quiet of the room, Jack hugs Alex as close as he possibly can, pressing his nose into Alex’s neck. It’s easy when Alex is making the same effort. Jack wonders if Alex feels the same as he does, like he has to engrave this memory in his mind, the way he’d never gotten a chance to when lockdown first set in. It had never occurred to him, before, that they’d be separated. That there might once come a time when Jack would want to hug Alex and Alex wouldn’t be there to hug.
Now, the threat of knowing that their clock is already ticking down is enough to make him want to burn this sensation forever into his skin and bones.
“Goodnight, my love,” he whispers with a tight squeeze. “Did I tell you today that I love you?”
There’s a sleepy hum in response. “You tell me you love me every second of every day,” Alex murmurs. “But I never get tired of hearing it.”
Jack smiles. He breathes his own I-love-yous, softly enough that it’s almost white noise, and before Alex falls asleep he tilts his head towards Jack. His eyes are closed, so Jack closes the gap and brushes their lips together.
Alex falls asleep soon after. Jack likes that, that neither of them have had the last word. The gentleness of the kiss soaks through his body and he drifts off with a smile, warm and content.

East coast winters haunt me.  The steam blowing out of potholes, the rush of traffic, the corners still lit up and on... dope businesses never close.  Holidays and Sundays mean nothing to people pushing caps full of the cure to keep well.  I have parkway nightmares, I see ghosts in my dreams, I used to dwell in a place that most could never fathom.  Walk right and act right because the hardware is everywhere and teenage trigger fingers flick at the first glimpse of fear.  The underground bubbles with heat and poison, even on the coldest days in February.  I catch a cab and a tattooed girl is riding up front with the cabbie, she's scratching and nodding, and the half sleeve does a bad job at covering her bruises and tracks.  Me and the cabbie go way back, so he flashes me a smile in the mirror, and he seems very proud of himself for having this cute little disaster half his age riding around with him getting high all day.  She lights a cigarette while him and I start talking, catching up, I haven't seen him for almost eight years, so he wants to know all about what I've been up to.  At one time him and I were tight, business associates you could say, but he can tell I've long since moved on from that life.  I start to tell him about my travels but quickly realize that I'd much rather get into some stories of when we were both in Baltimore together, back when I was more like the girl in the passenger seat than the clean cut man in the back.  We start laughing about stories of burning runners and getting shook down by cops, of stolen cars and dirty clubs, of 20 year sentences and fake urine mishaps.  Before long he's by my place, but since I know how these people operate I have him drop me off a few blocks away.  He gets out and gives me a big hug not knowing if I'll see him around anymore, the girl tries talking to me but she's an amatuer dealing with a retired pro, so I ignore her and light a cigarette and take off into the back alley.  A quick blast from my black past, a reminder of the misery I worked so hard to free myself from.  I tell myself that's all long gone now, but deep down I know I'm only a few bad decisions away from being right back there again.  The longer I stay here, the closer those bad decisions get.
My place is silent as I take off my coat and boots.  My phone vibrates and it's my friend Dakota from Utah, so I pick it up.  He had moved out to the mountains last I heard, but tells me he's getting ready to move back to the southside of Salt Lake and is working at the auto parts shop we both used to work at together.  I kick back and we talk about cars for a bit, and he catches me up on what's been going on in his life.  When I hang up it makes me think about the paths we take in this life.  The places I've been.  Where I'm at, and where I'm going.  I close my eyes and see the road and the canyons... the mountains, and the sprawling landscapes of the west.  The first few notes of 'Can't You See' play out of my speaker as I grab my stash.  My time in the east is coming to an end, again.  While I don't know where I'm headed, I do know that it's almost time to get going.

The ground did not yield bones, however Will might dig. His stare pushed against Hannibal’s form, meaning to push aside flesh to the muscle and offal beneath his meat. The Baltimore heat could only dream of enveloping the doctor so completely. Through the haze, steam rose between them, dancing just before Will’s vision.
“Your tea will get cold.”
Turning from photograph to photograph, swimming through the viscera, he examined each coolly. The Black Walls would have blanched before such artistry. His spare finger brushed along the curve of a slender wrist, disconnected from the rest of its body by his memories.
“He’s theatrical, your man.  Patient. No doubt he has been precise about cleaning up after himself, unless his ego has been in the way of it.”
