#DailyDevotion The Mercy Of The LORD Endures Forever In Christ Jesus
#DailyDevotion The Mercy Of The LORD Endures Forever In Christ Jesus Psalm 136 10He struck down the firstborn of the Egyptians--His mercy endures forever! 11and took Israel out from among them--His mercy endures forever! 12with a strong hand and an outstretched arm--His mercy endures forever! 13He divided the Red Sea--His mercy endures forever! 14and had Israel go through the middle of i--His mercy endures forever! and shook Pharaoh and his army 15into the Red Sea--His mercy endures forever! 16He led His people through the wilderness--His mercy endures forever! 17He struck down great kings--His mercy endures forever! 18and killed mighty kings--His mercy endures forever! 19Sihon, king of the Amorites--His mercy endures forever! 200g, king of Bashan--His mercy endures forever! 21and gave their land as a possession--His mercy endures forever! 22as a possession of His servant Israel--His mercy endures forever! From the establishing of the universe out of love for His holy people we move on to the establishment of a nation out of love for His holy people. We go from Genesis to Exodus here and then through Numbers. We start verse 10 with the LORD's conquering of Egypt to deliver His people. Then He takes them through the Red Sea, their baptism, into the wilderness. While going through the wilderness the LORD uses their hands to defeat the great kings along the way who would not show His people hospitality. They kill Sihon, king of the Amorites and Og, king of Bashan. These kings were rulers over the tribes of Canaan. Later, He would continue to be with them in their conquest as they went up the east side of the Jordan. They would cross the Jordan and then take Jerico. The LORD would be with them as they continued to take the land of Canaan because of the great sins of Canaan even after Abraham, Isaac and Jacob prophesied to them during their sojourn there. The curse Noah placed upon these children of Ham through his son Canaan would come to pass. All this conquering of the Levant was because the mercy of the LORD is forever. It was the chesed love of the LORD to all humanity (though I know it doesn't seem like it with all the killing) because through this people, in this place, the LORD would bring forth the promised seed of Eve, the seed of Abraham, the seed of David, the seed of Mary, the woman. He would join Himself to this seed and become Jesus of Nazareth the Savior of all mankind. He would defeat our enemies, sin, the fear of death and the one who has the power over death—the devil. This salvation is made avaible to all mankind as Jesus tells us in John 3, 16"God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. 17You see, God didn't send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through Him. 18If you believe in Him, you're not condemned. But if you don't believe, you're already condemned because you don't believe in the name of God's only-begotten Son." 23When we were humbled, He thought of us--His mercy endures forever! 24and snatched us from our enemies--His mercy endures forever! 25He gives food to all living beings--His mercy endures forever! 26Thank the God of heaven--His mercy endures forever! The Israelites would sin against the LORD by turning to other gods. He would humble them through the people who worshiped those gods. They would cry out and He would think of them and deliver them. The LORD continues to humble us through those things we would turn to rather than Him. When we turn back to Him, He thinks of us and delivers to us His word of forgiveness and love. The general provision of God by His mercy which started the psalm closes it. He gives food to every living creature. He does this in service to His people who follow Christ Jesus. For this we His people should give thanks to the God of Heaven, our LORD Jesus Christ. Merciful and loving Father, You have directed all of history out of Your great love for mankind to provide them a Savior, Jesus Christ. Give us lips that sing His praise so that through that people may come to faith in Him and be saved. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article

No matter what your past has been -- no matter how terrible you have been -- no matter what you have done -- God still loves you and desires for you to turn to Him.
He hates your sins, not you. He will call you gently. He is your everlasting Father and He won’t punish you.
He does not treat us as our sins deserve.
This is what we call Grace. This is what we call Mercy.

#DailyDevotion Trust In The LORD Alone. He Is Merciful Forever.
#DailyDevotion Trust In The LORD Alone. He Is Merciful Forever. Psalm 118 (On the way:) Thank the LORD because He is good and merciful forever. 2Israel should say, “He is merciful forever." 3Aaron's family should say, “He is merciful forever." 4Those who fear the LORD should say, “He is merciful forever.” This Psalm was probably sung on the way to the tabernacle and later the Temple. We have a call for thanksgiving to the LORD. The reason for this thanksgiving is the LORD is good and merciful forever. There then is a call to various groups to respond, three times, “He is merciful forever.” Now we know the LORD's name revealed to Moses in Ex. 34:6 contains the revelation that He is full of mercy. Perhaps because our life is so full of strife that we need to be reminded of this. We may question, “If the LORD is so merciful, why do I experience all these tribulations?” We should remember we deserve far worse because of our sins. We may lie to ourselves thinking we aren't all that bad. We don't go around hurting other people. But what are the thoughts of our hearts? And the reality is, we hurt more people than we can ever know but chances are we justify ourselves thinking, “Well, they deserve it.” Where is our mercy then? Hmmmm? Then we should also remember the mercy of the LORD includes discipline. So maybe we don't always “deserve” the trials we are having. Perhaps they are there to purify and strengthen our faith in the LORD. Now isn't that a merciful thing for Him to do? 5In my trouble I called on the LORD. The LORD answered me and set me free. 6The LORD is for me, I'm not afraid. What can man do to me? 7The LORD is for me; He helps me. I will gloat over those who hate me. 8It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust men. 9It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust the best of men. Speaking of trials and tribulations, here the LORD's anointed, David, and then Christ our LORD, testify they had a trouble. In the trouble, they called out to the LORD. The LORD helped them. Verse six reminds me of Jesus' teaching in Matt. 10, “28Don't be afraid of those who kill the body and can't kill the soul, but fear Him who can destroy soul and body in hell.” We should always seek the help of the LORD in all our troubles. He is merciful forever. With the LORD on our side we should fear no person, no illness, no government, and no situation. When they come against us, we should turn to the LORD and hand these things over to Him and then sing a hymn of praise and thanksgiving trusting He has heard us. Verses eight and nine are a wake up call for those of us who put our trust in politicians and political parties. We cannot trust them. We just can't. We should not act insanely and keep putting our trust in them to do good and help our situations. I'm not saying you can't be involved in those processes. But do so realistically. God says don't put your trust in men, even the best of men. Our trust should be in God, the LORD alone. We have the name of Jesus. Why should we get ourselves all wrapped up in fear, worry, and anxiety about what is going on in the world? Don't we trust in the LORD? Don't we trust in His righteousness? Don't we believe Jesus is coming to judge the living and the dead? Do we not believe we are worth more to God our Father than many sparrows? So cast all your cares on the LORD because He cares for you. (Peter) Let the One who has all power, all might, all wisdom, all knowledge, and who is merciful forever deal with all these things. Only He is able to help. Only He is able to intervene and do what is right for us. He may use men, politicians, political parties, governments and situations to be the answer to our prayers, but let Him and trust Him to do it. Trusting in the LORD, you sit comfortably in your own britches and panties for we know and believe He has our best interest in mind. Heavenly Father, give us Your Holy Spirit that we may believe in Your mercy, call upon You in all our troubles and rest in Your grace. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article

God ’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left. God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God . It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times.
