Isla girl turned two months old this week! Head circumference: 15.5 inches Height: 23.5 inches long (88th percentile) Weight: 13.75 Pounds (91st percentile) Our pediatrician said she’s the size of an average 4 month old & he’s happy to see her so “healthy”! 😊 She’s quick to flash that beautiful smile at you (which has got to be the best smile in the universe, but I’m partial🤗) She’s officially in size 2 diapers - she was busting out (& blowing out) of size 1’s😜. She’s gone one 8 hour stretch of sleep (PTL - counting this as a major blessing from above)! And is a great sleeper for her age. Still nursing like a champ (another huge blessing considering the struggle I had last time around). 3-6 month clothes fit! my husband sent this to me in a text with the caption "I love his glowing ear" ... we are both reminiscing about our spring adventures thru Europe & the five weeks of nonstop family time we enjoyed. we just booked a trip thru the Panama Canal for next winter. I am gradually becoming ok with knowing my son is weaning as a result of my work schedule & his aging independence. these portraits of us together while he nurses make the journey towards the inevitable end a little easier. hes 22mo, still breastfeeding, and Im doing my best to appreciate & enjoy the moments now without mourning what hasnt been lost yet. Ive been slammed. my fucking life is slammed right now with work shows advances meetings sponsees recovery toddler antics magic mama moments & feelings of coming up short - due to these long hours & occasional overnights - as a mom. I know Im attentive & kickass but today my mom woke me up after I fell asleep on Brixton watch ... he was fine, our house is childproof, but it didnt feel good. Ive been up late filling out legal paperwork thanks to a civil suit Ive pressed against a park manager where I own a manufactured home. its been the single most stressful thing to get thru in recovery. after almost four years its winding down.
