.𖥔 ݁ ˖ A LIFE WITH HIM ; FT. some OVERBLOT BOYS .𖥔 ݁ ˖
★ synopsis: how will they be like as your partner?
★ details: you/yours | headcanon | too much fluff | 1,000+ words
Tumblr media
✦ ┊RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS
Tumblr media
PHYSICAL AFFECTION (GIVING & RECEIVING)
★ not too big on PDA, so expect that the most skin-to-skin contact you two can have outside is the occasional hand-holding. he likes it when he's the one initiating the gesture whenever you two are out and about since he still can't help but have the need to be in control even after his overblot (like leading you to places and making sure ur still by his side).
★ he doesn't admit it but he loves when you link your arm with his and nuzzle your face into his shoulder (although he will still scold you if you do it) ESPECIALLY when he's in a mood and is almost about to off the heads of some rule-breakers OR maybe when you're giving too much attention to a rando because he may not admit it but he's greedy and wants your eyes on him only (but he's a gentleman and will never speak about it, only dismissing his inappropriate thoughts.)
★ in private though he's just a snuggly little cuddle bug, even more so if he's tired or stressed or most likely both. so many responsibilities are piled up on his plate just in his second year so the only thing that keeps his shit together is your warm and loving embrace. HE'S A SMALL SPOON. NO BACKSIES, okay maybe he's a big spoon if you're the one who needs a little more loving.
GIFT-GIVING
★ i mean from the name itself ROSEHEARTS, roses are his go-to (he's corny but we love him like that), but if you have a different favorite flower then he'll get those, and if you're allergic he'll try to make those handmade ones! although a little sloppy, pretty successful for his first try. overall he likes giving the traditional gifts like bouquets, stuffed animals, and chocolates :) but if he gets to know you more it might be more personal and intimate stuff that fits your tastes, and of course, should be of use to you too.
THE SIMPLE THINGS
★ whenever you're stuck on a study session late at night he likes inviting you to take a break and brew some tea for you. he'll even share some sweets that Trey gave him. although he won't leave you alone after he finds you like that, instead he pulls out some reviewers he has and helps you work on whatever you find difficult to understand.
WORD AFFIRMATIONS
★ "Our race is nowhere near finished, so please my rose, stay strong, I know you can and want to do so. I am always by your side okay?"
✦ ┊LEONA KINGSCHOLAR
Tumblr media
PHYSICAL AFFECTION (GIVING & RECEIVING)
★ hugs, hugs, and MORE HUGS. just lots of hugs! doesn't matter if he's a big spoon or small spoon, he needs you by his side 24/7, 365. he just has to have his scent all over you u know, half-breed things. this man is just lazing around anywhere so might as well bring his favorite pillow with him. and no, he doesn't care if you have class and need to take a test worth half your grade, he needs you more! ★ of course, he doesn't have long-ass hair for nothing, go be his peasant and brush it, most preferably with your fingers if he's having a good hair day. your soft fingers massaging his scalp are quite literally going to take him to heaven, and he'll have no regrets tho so go pocket something if that happens. ★ he doesn't pick favorites when it comes to giving and receiving physical affection, he just wants his hands all over you and if the job is done then he's good.
GIFT-GIVING
★ honestly man, i don't know with him. he's raised right so of course he gives you stuff like flowers and so on. on the other hand tho he isn't the type to know what you like and will most likely just ask you what you want him to give you. maybe he'll just take you to go fetch them at the store itself if he isn't sure. but on special days like your birthday or your anniversary (assuming ya'll would last more than a week), he actually tries and it's pretty sweet and more elaborate.
THE SIMPLE THINGS
★ whenever he's forcibly on a call with his brother, which surprisingly is turning into a regular thing, if Farena asks about how he's doing, Leona likely ends up only yapping about you. i mean yeah he missed his last test and he spent his allowance for the month in a week but does Farena know about the time you were mumbling Leona's name in your sleep? he will deny it if he's called out for doing so. NO, HE DID NOT PERIOD. *hangs up*
WORD AFFIRMATIONS
★ "Whatever you're thinking of, don't. It's stupid. As much as I don't like admitting this, you're strong, and even more than most beastmen if you set your mind to your goals."
✦ ┊AZUL ASHENGROTTO
Tumblr media
PHYSICAL AFFECTION (GIVING & RECEIVING)
★ man's busy all the time so it's hard to get your hands on him. even if he's not busy, he will sprint for his life just to get away from you. not that he dislikes your affection, the concept is just a little foreign to him. give him time to adjust, then you'll find out how soft his tentacles are! ★ when he's actually busy and working on stuff in his office (when the time comes and he's comfortable) he likes it when you flop yourself on his lap and nuzzle into his chest. he feels guilty that he can't give full focus to you since his schedule truly is packed but you inviting yourself into his office at late hours of the day just to snuggle comforts and assures him in some way. he'll definitely find more time for you, he's trying his best lol! ★ overall he isn't one to initiate the touching even if he's fully vulnerable for you. idk too ask him about it. he's just happy you like him enough that you cling unto him. but if you ask him he may favor hand-holding the most, it may be the least contact but feeling your hand on his is enough for him.
GIFT-GIVING
★ HE KNOWS EVERYTHING. i'm not even kidding, even when it's no special day he'd likely buy stuff just because it reminded him of you or when you coincidentally need it which is pretty cute but can be a little creepy.
THE SIMPLE THINGS
★ i saw a fic back then that said he gives you some coupons and by some i mean a TON in hopes that you visit the Lounge and that is absolutely true. though he forgets you two are together and he can ask you nicely to come over but who can say no to 30% off all menu items?
WORD AFFIRMATIONS
★ "My, how could I ever deny what that cute head of yours and those strong arms of yours can do! You are a valuable asset to me...what kind of asset? Well...it's up to you to decide."
✦ ┊JAMIL VIPER
Tumblr media
PHYSICAL AFFECTION (GIVING & RECIEVING)
★ he's also busy, honestly might be one of the, or if not the busiest of all of these guys. when you two have time to be together tho, even if he's knocked out and drained, he'll never show it. but i can say that's only during the early stages of your relationship with him and depending on how you two met. he likes to present himself in his best state and he really can't do so with his schedule so eventually he just melts and the next thing you know he's hugging you from the back any chance he gets and you feel his heartbeat turn slower by the minute. ★ for those moments that he sees you out and about though he likes patting your cute lil head, no matter what your height is. though he is trying to be a little adventurous with you so he leans in to caress your hair gently and suddenly you're met with a quick smooch. (only when there's no one else in sight so yeah adventurous my ass) ★ like leona, he loves it when you play with his hair, and he does not like to admit it. just remember to keep it neat and use a brush while you're at it, plus a facial and maybe a massage because i know those muscles are TIGHT.
GIFT-GIVING
★ his gifts reek of HANDMADE. idk he has those vibes. handmade flowers, or some origami of cute animals, but he likes giving you handwritten letters the most. it can be hard to communicate his real feelings to you so writing is a way for him to freely and easily express those feelings.
THE SIMPLE THINGS
★ whenever he cooks for Kalim or just whenever he cooks, he suddenly has some leftovers that he decided he'd pack up for you. can't bring himself up to say that excuse so he just gives it to you and walks away.
WORD AFFIRMATIONS
★ "Whining is useless. Do the things you're good at, stop worrying about the things you can't. Oh, I'm sorry...did that come off too harsh?"
Tumblr media
★ author's note: congratulate me for coming back. BASK IN MY GLORIOUS PRESCENCE. (i missed u guys too ig)

"did you tie your shoes before you went out ?"
"did you make sure too look both ways when crossing the street?"
and don't even get me started on when he's needy, needy
an obnoxious and repetitive beeping sounds on your alarm and you groan, twisting your body uncomfortably in the shared bed sheets before finally turning it off.
"seriously morning already..." you mumbled quietly, the darkness shrouding your thoughts.
i need to get ready for school.
and you did just that. at least you were going to before you realized there was another person in your bed, someone who felt very familiar.
oh no...
"nagi ???" you whisper-yelled it, patting his face lightly and turning the lamp on to get a clear veiw of your boyfriend.
"nagi wake up, your not supposed to be here" you sat up and began shakimg him this time.
nagi only groaned and wrapped his arms around his arms around your waist, nuzzling into the side of your thigh. "shhh, m' tryna sleep"
you shook your head and attempted to unwrap his hands from your body, with much struggle, he was surprising strong for being half asleep.
"nagi stop, nagi it's monday—a school day, you were supposed to be gone last night, why didn't your parents pick you up?"
"didnt tell them too"
"didnt tell them too...whadday mean didn't tell them too—im gonna get in trouble—wait a minute, nagi you didn't..."
"didnt what" his voice unmuffled as he moved his head to rest on your lap, his eyes staring directly at your own.
"you didnt lie to your parents and say you could stay for the whole week...did you?" you cupped his cheeks, studying his expression.
he didn't answer, "kiss me"
"nagi now is not the time—"
"kiss me pretty, please?"
you stared at him for a moment before leaning down, softly pressing your lips on his.
"good now?"
he looked dazed, and he was quiet so long you'd thought he didn't hear you. "almost"
your hands which had previously been rubbing soothing strokes across his face were quickly held behind your back.
he kissed your belly softly, relentlessly pressing butterflies into your body. "nagi that tickles" you giggled, trying to break free from his grasp.
"really? does it?" he murmured, rubbing his nose in the crevasse of your thigh.
"it does, now let go we have to get ready for school before my parents wake up"
he continued nuzzling your body however, then began slowly pushing his other hand against your chest to lean you back.
"i can make you feel alot more than tickling if you let me"
your cheeks felt hot. jeez, what has gotten into him !
"mmh, tempting but we cant and you know that—look it's already 6:09 we gotta g—OH!"
your stentence was cut off by the sensation of nagi feeling you through your shorts. his hands releasing your wrists long ago, he was now tugging at your pj's in hot desperation, probing his nose against your—
"nagi! what are you doing! school remember? we have to be there at 7"
"but do we reallyyyy..." nagi groaned, the vibrations sending shudders up your spine.
"y-yes, really, we have to be there, my parents own this house remember? not me"
"fine, but ill only go under one condition"
you sighed in preparation, for whatever rediculous reason was coming your way.
"and that is?"
"i get to stay over for the rest of the week AND, you sit on this right here..." he pointed too his mouth, and you squeezed your thighs together at the proposition.
"nagi, staying over defeats the purpose of you leaving, a-and i dont think that second option would be good for us either..."
"you wanna test to see?"
"i-i,—test and see what?"
"how bad our second option would be"
"..." he began moving in your silence, flipping your legs over his shoulders and kissing your belly once again.
"i'll take that as a yes"
Tumblr media
an's: nagi is needy but somehow this still came out ooc, ( do i consider that a win or what...? )

Tyrant's Favorite | Sukuna Ryomen
Tumblr media
Part 10: Killers
King!SukunaRyomen x Servant!FemReader
Summary: You used to be just another servant among the army of humans operating under the command of the terrible king, Sukuna Ryomen. An ordinary human who only knows how to wash, clean and cook. Until one day, he notices something in you that you hadn't seen before.
Tags: MDNI. +18. Murder. Blood. Cannibalism. Sukuna Ryomen Is The Warning Itself. Nudity. Sexual Display. Vaginal. Fingering.Sometimes fluff, sometimes angst.
Word Count: 4854 words.
Beginning. | ← Previous | Next →
You faithfully believed that King Sukuna's castle was the darkest place on earth. Not even the caves in the hidden mountains or the depths of the ocean were as dark as the place that has been your home for the past 365 days. Furniture stained in black varnish, complex undiscovered passages and tinted windows that didn’t allow the sun to enter. There were corners forgotten by everyone and in absolute darkness. Sukuna and Uraume were already used to it, since this castle had been here for the past 500 years, but the servants despised it completely. Especially in winter, when the sun is not so intense, it is freezing cold, and they must walk everywhere with a candlestick in hand to avoid tripping over something hidden in the shadows. In addition, every morning they had to make sure that all the torches were lit, one more task in their repertoire of responsibilities. Despite all the attempts to dimly light the place from the inside, there were always places that the servants feared to enter.
Kenjaku entered the library at 10 o'clock as usual. He trusted that you would be sitting by the window while reading something as he arrived, but that wasn’t the case. His sight checked the perimeter, there was no sign of you. “Is she with the king?” he questioned as he left the library. This was out of your character. He began to patiently search for you among the corridors. His first instinct was to head for King Sukuna's office. To his surprise, neither the king nor you were there. His second stop would be your room. His calm, subtle footsteps made their way discreetly to one of the most opaque areas of the castle. The spiral staircase that led to your room was not well lit. It was covered in concrete walls and was so narrow that there were no torches to illuminate the passage.
Your teacher found you sitting at the foot of the first step while reading a heavy book with the help of a small candlestick. The only thing that made the seat slightly more comfortable was the red carpet that decorated the center of the stairs. A heavy fungi encyclopedia hung over your legs, revealing some hand-drawn pictures of different types of edible mushrooms. You remembered how your mother always made sure you didn't pick any poisonous mushrooms for dinner because you might accidentally kill someone.
You missed the woman who used to be your mother. Despite being a greedy woman who wanted to live her dreams through her daughters, she used to be someone who cared about them being good people and knowing how to defend themselves from the dangerous world around them. She used to be a woman of strong character who would not let anyone make fun of her or her convictions. A dedicated mother who lovingly scolded them so that they would always be the best versions of themselves and stay out of trouble. It was a shame that you no longer knew the woman you once loved. Her image passed away along with your father’s.
You had been thinking the last few days about the easiest way to create an almost odorless and tasteless poison so that anyone could consume it without problems. Mushrooms were the first thing you thought of. All that remained was to know what kind you had to use to make the first attempt a success and where to get it. Maybe you could ask Uraume or Kenjaku to bring you some, since you were not allowed to leave the castle, but they could. Sukuna ordered you to kill someone, but he did not forbid you to ask his servants for help in doing so.
“Are you lost?,” Kenjaku greeted you with a friendly grin. “What are you doing here?”
“Today is harvest day,” you answered with a sad look on your face before turning the page.
It was finally the first anniversary since your mother sold you as a servant, met Mrs. Inoue and sworn allegiance to the terrible king. It was also the anniversary of the death of that little nameless boy whom you could not protect that terrible morning. Even though you kept telling yourself that what happened was not your fault, you still felt a heavy weight of guilt on your back. You could have done more, shouted more, fought more, but you didn't. He was taken from you. They snatched him out of your hands and murdered him right under your nose. There wasn't a week that went by that you didn't remember him and feel your heart shrink.
“The library window overlooks the parade ground. I don't want to see a live slaughter,” you explained before closing the book and hugging it to your chest in a failed attempt to comfort yourself.
You remembered that day as if it had been yesterday. You never thought you would see so many pools of blood, hear desperate screams and feel the icy terror coursing through your veins in your entire life, let alone just one. What you thought would be a casual day turned out to be your welcoming to your definition of hell on earth. Sometimes you had nightmares about what the day of your death would be like. Sukuna murdering you without a second thought for not keeping your word, breaking something of value or, worse, not giving him a son. The thought of failing terrified you, but the thought of failing at something you couldn't quite control was far, far worse.
“Genocide,” Kenjaku corrected you. You looked at him quizzically, confused as to what he meant. “It's not slaughter, it's genocide,” he explained with a smile. You nodded as you understood that he was expanding your vocabulary. “I think it's a good opportunity for you to get used to death.”
“I don't want to get used to it, I don't want to become...” You couldn't finish the sentence as you realized what you were about to say.
“A monster like the king?” Kenjaku asked you with a raised eyebrow.
“No, I was going to say 'a killer’.” Now you were the one who corrected him. “Of the few good qualities I have, being a pacifist is one of them. I can't imagine missing that piece of myself.”
“You know you're about to marry one, don't you?” He asked you seriously.
“That doesn't mean I should become one, does it?” You answered with another question.
“He who kills the cow sins as much as he who grabs its leg,” Kenjaku quoted with an air of wisdom while patting you on the head as if he was saying, “Poor little innocent thing.”
His mouth was spitting facts, and you hated it when he was like that. Even though you had become his servant against your will, you could always decide to commit suicide to avoid being part of a heartless tyrant's macabre plans. A truly good person would rather die than kill someone else. If you married Sukuna, it meant you were on the same level as him. Maybe you weren't as good as you thought you were. You sighed and hid your face in your hands.
“Marriage is about making sacrifices. Are you ready to sacrifice that part of yourself for him?” Your teacher asked you while stroking your hair.
You weren't ready, not at all. You weren't doing all this because the idea of marrying a man-eater delighted you. Even though you respected that part Sukuna showed you in private, he was still a curse with a merciless heart. You would only marry him because you didn't want to disobey him and lose your life. Even though you were living in a constant hell, you didn't have the courage to just detach yourself from him in an attempt to go to heaven. You might end up in real hell.
“Have you killed someone?” You asked him, pulling your head out of his hands.
“Of course. You're looking at one,” Kenjaku answered with a proud smile.
Your eyes expanded and roamed over the body of the acquaintance you now considered strange as your master detached his skull to show you his true form. Your chest tightened as you discovered your teacher's true form. A brain with a sinister row of teeth. You couldn't believe that the handsome man in front of you was a mere puppet, a living corpse. You felt so bad for the person whose body Kenjaku had taken from you.
“How can you do that?” You asked him in a stutter, still processing what you had seen.
“Kill someone?” Kenjaku wanted to confirm the question before putting his hair back on. Although he didn't mind his appearance, he understood that you might find it strange. You nodded in fright. “Just do it,” he simply replied.
“I wish it was that easy,” you sighed.
“Why don't you start with something easier?” Kenjaku asked you.
“What do you mean?”
“Today is the harvest, isn't it? You'll see Sukuna kill a lot of people. You will be able to watch how he simply does it, maybe this way you will get a little confidence to see that it is not as difficult as you think,” he advised you with a smile.
But that smile no longer transmitted that warmth and companionship that you liked so much, now it was sinister and with double intention. What you thought was a normal man had become a beautiful memory that had been replaced with a talking brain. Now the idea of dying did not terrify you so much, you were more terrified of dying and having your body used with terrible intentions. What a terrible fate.
King Sukuna was ready to start choosing who would be the new servants to join the castle. Even though his only job was to kill useless people and sit in the comfort of his throne, he still found it tedious and boring at times. Killing people in one cut for him is as simple as cutting a piece of paper with a pair of scissors. Amidst the gloom provided by the veils, he settled into his stately seat and yawned. “How much longer will they make me wait?” he wondered. Uraume had informed him that the number of people had increased by 30% since last year, which meant that this time he had to take care of more useless parasites.
The faint sound of the door to his left brought him out of his thoughts. He arched an eyebrow when he saw you slowly entering the room. You looked more nervous and shy than usual, looking down at the floor in case you had already killed someone. Your yellow dress trailed softly against the marble floor until you reached the curtains that sheltered the king. Seeing him so close brought back memories.
For him too. He couldn't believe it had been a whole year since he first saw you. A beggar he thought he would kill instantly when he saw the lousy state you had arrived in. Malnourished, dirty and with dried tears on your cheeks. You just screamed “unseemly” with your appearance. She was glad she had given you a chance. You looked like a completely different person now. If I had known you as you currently look, I would even think you were a princess from a family rotten in gold.
“What the fuck are you doing here? You should be in class,” Sukuna scolded you with a stern tone even though on the inside he liked to see you.
“Kenjaku told me that to get used to death, I must see it. He said it would help me to be able to kill someone like you asked,” you explained as you looked around. The room looked glittering. The massacre had not yet begun. You didn't know if you had arrived at the right or wrong time.
“Is that what he said?” He asked skeptically. You nodded as you returned your gaze to his four eyes. “Not a bad idea….” He thought aloud as he scratched his chin.
Not only will you get used to seeing him in action, you'll also become familiar with the new servants. Plus it was a great excuse to spend time with you alone. It was true that they had started archery lessons a couple of days ago, but he was so busy that he sometimes relegated that task to Kenjaku. It bothered him, but he would never admit it, not even to himself.
“All right. Come closer then.”
You didn't really want to, but you were already there. You stepped through the translucent fabrics until you finally faced him. You were planning to stand next to him while you watched everything, but Sukuna had other plans. He yanked you up by the waist to make you sit on his lap. Her hands gripped your body to hold you in place. It was lucky they were in the shadows because you didn't want Sukuna to see how flushed you were. It was as if every time they met, he tried to get closer to your body and each time he was more and more direct. You could hear your own heart beating like crazy from the illusion, but that couldn't be right.
“You better not do anything stupid, you understand?” He growled in your face. You turned your face away at the intimidation. “You know what will happen if you do.” You swallowed dryly before nodding quickly.
The servant arrived with the first group. A group of helpless old men moving feebly towards their certain death. Sukuna snorted in annoyance at the worthless humans that had been brought to him. Once the servant formed them up, he fled from the room. With his left hands, the king grabbed the back of your neck and cheeks to get your attention to the scene that was about to unfold. Your body froze at the strong grip. You wanted to close your eyes, but panic forbade you to do so.
Sukuna raised two fingers towards them and cut off their heads in one motion. You shrieked at the sight of their lives being snatched away in a heartbeat. You could never do something like that. You didn't have the heart to do it. You didn't know these people or the sins they had committed throughout their lives, but you were sure they didn't deserve it. You closed your eyes and swallowed the lump in your throat. This was your new life. No, this was already your life, and you still hadn't adjusted. Sukuna watched as you held back the urge to cry. Your lower lip trembled more than the rest of your body. He pulled you tighter to his body in an attempt to comfort you. He would never change who he was for you, but he could help you understand why.
You had enough, but people kept coming through that door. You didn't know how many people had arrived, so you didn't know how many times Sukuna would repeat the same pattern. Cut after cut, clean every time he did. So far, only a few had survived. You always ended up closing your eyes no matter how hard you tried to keep your eyes in front of you. You opened your eyes as soon as you heard the footsteps of other people entering the room. The maid, a tall man, a shorter one, a little old lady who could barely walk, a man without an eye and... “No way...” you thought as you saw the last person in line. You'd recognize her long brown hair, slender figure and devil-minded angel face anywhere.
The need to shout some warning at her burned your throat. You wanted to do it more than anything else in the world, but you knew Sukuna would keep his promise if you went against his will. Unruly tears that you couldn't stop before escaped wildly down your cheeks. Your eyes were glued to that face you never thought you would see again. “She's not... She shouldn't be here... What the fuck happened?” you thought, trying to convince yourself that this was a horrible nightmare. You didn't want to accept reality. You didn't want to accept that your little sister was in the same position you once were in.
“5…”
Sukuna started counting down as he had done in the previous round, just like that first day. Yorozu looked lost, as if she didn't fully understand what was going on. She looked from side to side indifferently. She would never bow down. You knew her like the back of your hand. She would never bow to anyone, even if her life depended on it, like this instant. She was always a rebel who didn't care about anyone or anything. You had to do something to prevent it, but what exactly could you do? You couldn't save an innocent child, how would you save a girl who goes against everything? Any of the ideas you had would only result in the death of both of them, but something had to be done. You weren't going to stand idly by.
“2…” The king counted aloud as he stroked your back.
The quick memory of that little boy's mutilated body came to your mind.  You tightened the skirt of your dress as you cried your last tears silently. You didn't want to, rather... You weren't going to let the same story repeat itself again. You took a deep breath before you did the stupidest thing in your life. It might kill me, but that didn't matter anymore. If you died, you would be protecting your little sister.
Sukuna was about to say the one when you hugged him by the neck and pulled him close to your body. The king was paralyzed by the sudden act, so much so that he forgot what number he had been left with. His heart began to pound like crazy and his face had turned into a tomato. Your body was warm to the touch, and he liked the pressure you exerted against him to hold him as close as possible. Even though you were shaking like jelly in an earthquake, you were doing the right thing. You hid your face in his neck as you sobbed.
“I beg for mercy. That is my sister. Please don't kill her.” You begged him between sobs. Hoping that your position as a future wife would help you survive this one.
Sukuna noticed the girl at the end of the line, the only one who seemed to be close to your age. She was tall, had silky hair that reached her waist and had merciless eyes, as if she didn't mind being in a room surrounded by corpses and blood. It seemed that indifference ran in her family. For a second you wondered if she was really your sister. You could tell they were completely different. If you had turned out to be a good worker and were from the same family, the odds were high that your sister was too, despite the personality. Sukuna was patiently considering it while enjoying the warmth of your body next to him.
“Please take pity on her life. I will do anything,” you begged desperately.
“Anything?” Sukuna looked at you curiously out of the corner of his eye.
“Whatever your heart desires, I will do it, but leave my sister out of this,” you sobbed. Sukuna nodded slowly with a wicked smile.
The sound of Sukuna's slashes echoed in your ears and your heart stopped... until you heard Yorozu scream in panic. You turned to see her covered in blood, while her body trembled in fear at the sight of all the fresh bodies beside her. The important thing was that she hadn't received a scratch. Begging for her life had miraculously worked. You wiped away your tears without caring about ruining the makeup that Mrs. Inoue had applied to you in the morning.
“I'll let you know what I want later. For now, get her out of my sight.” Sukuna reluctantly dictated.
“Thank you, thank you very much, my king,” you said with a faint smile before jumping off the seat to run to your sister.
You detached yourself from his body to get out from between the curtains. Yorozu was perplexed to see you emerge so animated from the shadows where a terrible looking king was supposed to be sheltering from the light. You ran to her with open arms and tears of joy streaming down your cheeks.
“Yorozu!” You exclaimed before hugging her tightly. She was so perplexed that she was slow to return the embrace.
“You're alive!” She exclaimed once she understood the situation.
A year ago you had disappeared from their lives. One morning, Yorozu, Nanako and Mimiko woke up, and you were not in bed with them. The only thing you had taken with you was your brown dress and a basket of food. You left no letter, note, or indication that you would return. Their mother told them that you ran away and left them to seek a better life without them. Your sisters did not believe her at all. She knew your heart and your strong morals, you would do anything to keep them safe. Even though they knew you would never leave them willingly, they knew you would not come back, so they thought the worst.
“Come, we need to talk,” you asked her before pulling her by the arm.
You took her out to the hallway and closed the door behind you as fast as possible so as not to disturb the king. Yorozu looked at you from head to toe. One of his theories as to your disappearance was that his mother sold you to King Sukuna as a servant, but you didn't look like one. Your body was carefully decorated with the finest fabrics and gems. Never in his life did he think he would ever see you looking as radiant as you do now. She was even envious to admit that you looked better than her, since now she was the one wearing the ugly and dirty dress.
“Nice dress,” she said as she looked at the flowers decorating the corset of the dress.
“That's not important now. What are you doing here?” You asked her before taking her by the shoulders to look her in the eyes.
“The same thing that happened to you. Mom sold me,” Yorozu complained, annoyed, remembering how her mother had dragged her out of bed with the excuse that they were going to the market.
“But why? You were the one with the best chance of marrying a rich man. You were the favorite. Mom wouldn't sell you just for the sake of it,” you demanded an answer. You were silent when you realized what you had said. Your mother would not sell her for any reason. “What did you do?”
“The winter ball in the Gojo kingdom was last week. Mom got really mad at me because I wouldn't dance with King Satoru. That's what happened,” Yorozu explained without making a big deal out of it.
“Are you serious?!” You looked at her, surprised. Your little sister nodded, equally disappointed. “Are you mad?! Isn't King Satoru supposed to be the most beautiful and richest man in the world!?” You scolded her while shaking her by the shoulders.
“I don't want to be with a prettier man than me,” Yorozu shrugged. You dropped your head as you couldn't believe what she was saying. “This is the Yorozu I know,” you thought.
Even though Yorozu had high charisma being a ridiculously beautiful girl, she still hadn't married. That was because she had ridiculously high standards. Ever since she was a child, she would reject all the boys who hit on her because she wouldn't settle for less than what she asked for. Yorozu's ideal future husband must be tall, handsome, rich, robust, strong, funny, attentive, a good hunter, a good leader, who would give her everything she asked for, who was obsessed with her and had a great dick to please her with. She could have great charisma, but she was just as greedy as her mother.
“How are Mom, Mimiko and Nanako doing? Tell me they are fine,” you asked her.
“They are there, that's what matters,” your little sister answered indifferently.
“Yorozu!” You scolded her.
“What?!” Yorozu exclaimed in annoyance. “They're fine, but not for long. Nanako and Mimiko are still too young to get married. I don't know how mom will support them once they run out of money,” she explained as she crossed her arm.
She was right and it was terrible. Your younger sisters were barely ten years old, but your mother would do anything to fulfill her ill-fated dream. Maybe instead of selling them to Sukuna, she would arrange a marriage for them to a nefarious but filthy rich man. You had to find a way to help your little sisters, but your options were limited since you couldn't leave the castle. Something would come to you soon, first you had to make sure of Yorozu's safety.
“Nice dress,” Yorozu flattered again.
“That doesn't matter,” You said again while thinking.
“Of course it matters! How can you, a filthy maid, wear a dress like that?!” Yorozu yelled in your face.
At the annoying noise, the doors opened wide, revealing a terrible six-foot curse that was quite annoyed. You gasped in shock and stood next to Yorozu. You bowed and forced your little sister to do the same, pulling her head to the same height as you. Yorozu was annoyed, but did not resist.
“What’s all this about?!” Sukuna yelled mad as he saw how you forced your sister to bow.
“I’m so sorry, my king. She is just shocked,” you tried to excuse her.
“Take her with the rest of the servants and cut the noise. Don't make me regret pitying her life.” Sukuna scoffed.
You nodded submissively and pulled Yorozu with you to follow the hallway. Yorozu looked back to get a better look at the much rumored King Sukuna. Just a simple glance made a flirtatious smile appear on her face. A monster of almost human appearance, tall, strong, robust build and, most importantly, stupidly rich for being the king of a great nation. He was terrifying and she loved it. It was just what she was looking for. Yorozu greeted him in a friendly manner as they walked away. Sukuna raised his eyebrow in confusion at the strange attitude of his future sister-in-law.
“What’s going on?” Yorozu asked you as you pulled her to where the other servants were.
The same room where you waited to be given your uniform. The atmosphere was worse than you remembered. A tired and worn-out energy was felt in the air. The long faces, the terrified murmurs, and the intrusive thoughts were frightening. If the room was already dark, it was now blackened. Yorozu looked at the old men in disappointment before answering him.
“I have a lot to tell you, but that will have to wait,” you pulled her by the shoulders to get her attention. “The summary is that I used to be a servant until Sukuna asked me to be his wife so that I can give him an heir. I begged for your life so that he wouldn't kill like the others,” you explained quickly.
“Are you going to become a queen?” Yorozu looked at you, surprised.
“If I do everything he asks me, yes,” you answered. “That's why you must keep a low profile and do everything the leader of the servants asks you to do. Don't make me look bad, I beg you”
“What?! Why do I have to be a servant?!” Yorozu exclaimed, annoyed.
“Lower your voice” You asked her while you looked at the other old men, clearly offended by the reaction.
“Can’t I be a princess or something?!” You grumbled unwillingly.
“Just wait until I marry the king, and I’ll take care of it. For now, you just have to cooperate,” you asked patiently.
“Ugh, but I was never as good at cleaning as you, and you know it,” Yorozu complained again.
“Well, you’ll have to if you want to survive here,” you threatened her to get her to listen to you. Quickly, you noticed Uraume approaching you. “Just do everything she asks of you without complaining, please,” you whispered to Yorozu. Your little sister rolled her eyes, but finally agreed before entering the room with the other new servants.
“Promise me that I won’t be a maid forever,” Yorozu asked you, stopping at the entrance.
“I’ll do my best,” you promised her.
Yorozu looked at you over one last time and reluctantly entered the room. “It’ll be fine. Just focus on killing someone for now, and then I’ll take care of giving Yorozu a good life.” You planned your next move before leaving her alone with the old folks to head back to the library to ask Kenjaku for a favor.

His lips sealed over your own, aligning like the ends of a folded letter, pressing together before unfurling. Your eyes fluttered awake, lashes curling up to the heavens, greeting the smokey brown of his irises. Your lungs caved in, holding the air within them captive. A phenomenon that seemed to occur every time your gaze locked on Felix’s doe eyes.
His cotton candy lips left behind traces of stardust on your mouth. Oh, how you loved the taste of his delicate pink cupid’s bow. How your fingers relished every freckle that danced along his cheeks like constellations breathed into existence by aphrodite. The way his teeth, glistened like sharp pearly stones when he smiled, unraveling a million butterflies in your stomach. The distinct scent clung to his skin whenever he held you tight in his embrace—reminding you vaguely of freshly washed linen and a tinge of citrus, something lemony and sweet. You swore even in darkness, your fingers would map through his features, entwining into his gracefully swept golden treses, and mold your lips to his own.
Felix’s voice rings like a Tibetan bell, a deep sound that pleasantly echos through your ears.“Wakey, wakey!” his knuckles, gently brush your cheek. His words collide with the whirling waves and salty breeze. “Where’d that pretty little head go?” He hums, softly squishing your cheeks between his fingertips. Your response comes out muffled as he laughs, softly squeezing your warm skin. “What’s that? Didn’t hear you.” You’d only frown, your hand grasping onto his arm, and trying to pry him away.
He doesn’t budge. He never does, always teasing you in ways that seem almost cruel. Sweet but cruel.
Felix’s fingers are soft, lacing through your own like soft yarn on a canvas, capturing the darker skin of your knuckles, the baby blue glossed over your nails, complimenting the ocean that seemed to admire you both from the distance. You’d study his long pale fingers, dusted with fine pink. Silence lingered between the two of you. You fell in love with the things he would never notice about himself. Secrets tethered into your soul, embroidered with a thousand locks.
Felix can’t help but wonder what spending the rest of his life with you would resemble. He always loved admiring you. The way your plush curves accented the frilly white sundress you put on display for his eyes alone. The way your dark skin glistened like honey beneath the warm afternoon sun. Your coiled bangs occasionally swayed every time a light breeze caressed your face. He knew he couldn’t stay for long; he never did. Out of 365 days every year, time would only grant him the opportunity to spend 91 with you. He could never stay too long, or else he would bend the very pillars of the multiverse. He fell in love with someone in a dimension that he had mistakingly found himself in. He found his home in a place that had never belonged to him.
Felix’s ears pick up the warm sound of your voice, the way your hand softly wraps around his milky wrist, pressing it over your clothed stomach. He’s mildly confused at first, but realization hits him and he swears your smile and hopeful eyes tear his chest open like a scythe summoning upon death. A strong metallic taste fills his tongue as he chokes on the crimson filling his lungs. His eyes are frozen, loving doe brown turned petrified and distant. Your hand begins to shake, assuming the worst, that joy that blooms in your heart fills with wilted sorrow. “Felix…” Your soft voice begins, drowned out by the crashing of waves against the sand. “I…I thought you would…” Your pause, reality falls over you like a thousand bricks, crushing you and the unborn child in your womb.
“Oh God.”  Your voice breaks. A million faulty syllables bleeding you dry.
Felix instantly takes your hand, holding them against his chest. His pulse thumping beneath your palms. His eyes frantically searched your own, for anything but that terrible despair that filled them. You watched the soft blonde strands tousle as he wordlessly shook his head. “No, no love.” His rich voice thins, you can see he’s desperately trying not to worry you.
But how could you not worry when everything you built together would fade to ashes?
Felix’s lips plant kisses on your face, his fingers bound to your wrists as you shiver, your mind caught somewhere between denial and grief. “Felix…” Your voice quivers, his name almost unrecognizable when it passes through the air. “N-no…this can’t be…” You shrink, pressing your face into his chest, your breathing falling in short gasps. He’s hardly able to hold it together himself, his entire world swallowed by a current. “It’s okay darling…I’ll-I’ll stay.” You freeze, your fingers trembling as they clutch onto the cotton of his shirt. He stares into your bloodshot eyes and trembling lips, your head urgently shaking. “No. No Felix you know what happens…” You whisper, pleading with him. “Please, anything but this. You can’t stay Felix.” You both knew that you had to follow the rules and that the risk was not worth the consequences.
Felix smiles it’s strained like the frayed ends of two ropes, hardly bound together. He’s always been too strong for his own good, always carrying more than his arms could hold. “It’ll be okay…sometimes risks have to be taken…I’ll be here with you and the baby for two whole years. Two years and I’ll fade.”
He wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you closer into his lithe frame. A crushed wail forces past your lips. You turn your head, ignoring the prospect. That was not an option. “No…” Hot tears cracked your face open, burning your skin in their descent. “Please Felix don’t do this–please…”
“No. Listen to me.” His voice was small. Your sunshine turned red and orange splotching like a badly healed bruise and tainting the atmosphere’s skin. “Shh…” His fingers brushed away the salty streaks on your cheeks. “Being with our child for two whole years, and watching them grow up.  Is better than seeing them every 3 months. They would never understand, and I would never live with myself knowing that the rules cannot be bent. I’m risking the consequences.” His wide palm soothingly rubs your back, easing your unsteady breaths.  “I’d rather fade to ashes than live a life without the both of you.”
Felix wishes he could spend an eternity with you and the baby, he wishes he could’ve broken every law in the universe without any punishments. He knew that if he did not return to his dimension after 91 days, then he would already be considered non-existent, granting him only 730 days of existence before he dissolves to nothingness. He wished he could watch your child grow older, he wished he could meet their friends and pick them up from school. He wished he could match outfits with them and attend every school event.
But he couldn’t, special relativity would simply falter in ways physics could never demonstrate.
You heard your child’s cries echo down the hallway of your flat. It didn’t sound like the cry she usually gave out when she was hungry or sleepy.  She was screaming at the top her her lungs, shrilly watery sobs tore you out of your bed. Felix was a light sleeper, he would’ve heard her crying and rushed to his child. He would’ve held her in his arms and cooed at her, made her some oatmeal, or changed her diaper. This caused panic to rise in your throat, as you grabbed your fluffy robe curling it around your body.
You rushed into her room. Your heart cracked at the sight of your baby withering her arms. “Mama! M-muma!” You pick her up, as she hiccuped, clinging onto you. “Dada go.” Her words were muffled, against your robe, and her dark brown curls brushed against the nape of your neck. Elise looked so much like her father, from her big brown doe eyes to the soft freckles that spotted her caramel-brown skin. She really was a mini-yongbook.
“Dada gone?” You turned your head to face Elise, who was clutching onto you. “Elise…where did Dada go…?” Your voice was soft, and your heart was thrashing against your chest, practically threatening to tear a gaping hole right through your ribcage. Elise pointed a small finger to the floor right by her crib. “Dada gone.” She sniffled, her bottom rip quivering. Her eyes were confused.
“Oh my God….” You sputter out, tears disfiguring your sight.
There it was an open paper with Felix’s shaky handwriting and a pen placed over it.

Pairing: Chris Sturniolo X Female Reader *friendship*
Synopsis: Y/N is stuck in a toxic relationship, and when they break up. She runs to Chris for his advice🥹
Warnings⚠️: Talks of a toxic relationship, trauma, mentions of a hand being raised at readers face
Song for the imagine: Conceited- Lola Young (this song is fucking good literally LISTENNN)
Told me that you loved me, you're just talking to yourself
I don't wanna know, I don't wanna hear it
Let yourself out, you're so conceited
365 days….365 days trapped, hurt and angry. I was angry because I was trapped. Trapped in this god awful toxic relationship. With a “man” who did not care. He could care less if I lied there bleeding in front of his eyes. He’d probably laugh in my face and walk over me. This I knew, and I hated myself everyday for staying with him because I loved him.
How could I love someone as crazy and deranged as him? That I’m not sure of, but when you fall for someone you fall for it all. The imperfections and the beauties. But he…he had too many imperfections. Ones that would bleed into our relationship tainting it.
Him and I started off strong. He was amazing to me, he did it all. I truly felt like a princess when I was with him. He got along with my friends, my family, just everyone in my life. I thought I would eventually marry the guy. But here I am hurt and alone.
About 7 months into our relationship something in him flipped, and to this day I can not understand what happened to him. He wouldn’t talk to me, or explain anything it always ended up in him lashing out.
“Baby…I’m not sure what’s wrong, but I’m here for you” I would tell him
“I don’t need you here for me. Go away” he would tell me
“How can we be in a relationship when you won’t even communicate” I told him
“Shut your fucking mouth” he’d warn
“I don’t know why you resent me so much. If you’re not happy we can break up” I would say softly
“Break up? You’re nothing without me. You need me, you can not live without me.” He would say scoffing
That’s how most of our arguments went. He’d call me useless, pathetic, no good, he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, I’d have no one on my side if I broke up with him, he’d turn everyone against me. Every horrible thing you can think of, he has said to me.
And like an idiot I stayed. I stayed because I was scared. Scared that he’d truly truly hurt me. Sometimes when we argued and he’d get close to me there would be this twinkle in his eye. A twinkle of malice like he’d actually put his hands on me. Fear controls every aspect of life, more than you’d think.
The only person I felt comfortable going to was Chris and his brothers for help. Often they’d tell me to just dump him and come stay with them, and that they’d keep me safe. However I could never bring myself to do it. I was scared.
Chris and I had grown really close a few months back. I would even consider him my best friend. I told him everything, and when things would get bad and I would have a panic attack it was Chris who was there to calm me down. At first * Y/N boyfriends name* didn’t really care that I was friends with Chris up until things started to get really really bad.
He’d check my phone whenever he wanted, read my messages, go through my DM’s, look at my call history. He’d watch my location constantly asking where I’m going. I was his prey. He wouldn’t leave me alone and he knew it scared me, but that was something he loved
When he would go to work I’d call Chris and catch him up on everything, and then had to beg him to not text or call me, or initiate any contact until I did.
For our one year anniversary last week we didn’t do a thing. He even acted like he forgot, and when I mentioned it he flipped out. Telling me that I’m a piece of shit, and that I didn’t deserve a single thing. But I never wanted anything, I just wanted my boyfriend back.
Today he was at work, and I wanted to be nice and make him some dinner, turn on some music, and just try and have a good night with him.
When he got home I could immediately tell he was not happy, and that this night would end in another fight
“The fuck you doing” he said walking into the kitchen
“Uhhh hi to you too, i was making you dinner” I said giving him a smile
“I’m not eating that shit” he said opening the pot and throwing the lid down on the stove, causing me to jump a little bit
I paused for a moment contemplating how I would go about my next comment
“What the fuck have I ever done to you?” I asked him finally looking at him
“You haven’t done shit for me. You’re nothing, you’re a nobody” he said
“What’s your problem with me? You used to be so sweet and loving, and now you’re just angry and mean” I said back
“You ain’t nothing to me” he spit like venom
“So then leave me” I told him getting angry
“Ha! Leave you. You couldn’t survive a single day without me. You need me. I’m all you have” he shot back
“Not true at all” I spat back
“Don’t fucking speak to me like that” he said walking a little closer
“Speak to you how? I’m talking to you like a normal adult. You’re acting like a child” I told him
“I should fucking spit on you” he said with a smug face
“You’re a fucking psycho. You’re crazy” I told him shaking my head
“Walk away then! Go LEAVE!” He yelled the last part
“Make up your mind! Want me to go or want me to stay” I said rolling my eyes at him
“I could give a shit what you do. I know you’ll be crawling back” he said crossing his arms
“You’re so full of yourself. I don’t need you” I spat back at him
“Yeah you fucking do” he said now standing infront of me
“NO I FUCKING DONT” I yelled at him
“DONT RAISE YOUR FUCKING VOICE LITTLE GIRL” he yelled back
“LITLE GIRL?” I questioned yelling back
“YEAH LITTLE FUCKING GIRL. GO BOOHOO CRY TO YOUR FRIENDS…..oh wait you don’t have any” he said laughing
“FUCK YOU” I screamed in his face, and immediately he raised his hand and I flinched and stepped back. Utter shock on my face
“Did you just try and hit me?” i asked started to walk away from him
I ran and grabbed my purse, phone and car keys. Walking to the front door
“You’re not going anywhere” he said following me
“I am! YOU DONT OWN ME! I'M LEAVING AND I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. YOURE A FUCKING LUNATIC WE ARE DONE” I yelled at him, swinging the door open and running out and to my car
Once in my car. I started to drive to the triplets house. As he kept calling and texting non stop but I kept ignoring him.
I got to the triplets house, and once I rang the doorbell Chris came down and was shocked to see me
“Hey! What are you doing here?? Are you okay?” He asked reading my face in worry
“I broke up with him” I said as he let me into the house
“What happened??” Chris asked as we went down to his room
“He’s a fucking psycho” I said pacing his room back and forth
“Go on” Chris said
“I make dinner for him trying to be nice, and he comes home all nasty and rude and starts fighting with me calling me all types of names and that I’m nothing without him” I told Chris still pacing the room shaking with anxiety
“And then”…my voice “he fucking raised his hand like he was going to hit me” I said finally stopping
“Did he hit you?” Chris asked in disbelief
“No he didn’t. I walked out before he could do anything” I said
“Y/N, I’m so fucking sorry! You don’t deserve this, and he doesn’t deserve you” Chris said
“God! What the fuck is wrong with me. How could I stay with someone like this for so fucking long. A fucking maniac” I said finally breaking down and crying, and Chris comes running over to grab me and bring me back to his bed
“Hey! Don’t beat yourself up for someone like him. Kids got a lot of fucking problems, but this isn’t your fault” Chris said rubbing my back
“I fucking love him. I will always love that kid, and no matter how shittt he treats me. My chest hurts from how much I love him” I said sobbing
“You can love him, that's normal. But you can’t beat yourself up for how you feel!” Chris told me
“I know but I’m just so fucking stupid for staying with him. No matter how many time you told me to leave him, and so I just didn’t” I said still sobbing
“Listen he’s a horrible person, and yes you should’ve left him a long time ago, but it’s your life and you will do what’s best for you” he told me
“I don’t wanna feel this pain anymore. I don’t know who I am. He completely ruined me” I said to Chris
“It’s going to hurt. It’s going to fucking suck, but you need to hurt and cry and feel pain in order for you to heal. So allow yourself those emotions, and you will see with time it will get better. You don’t need him. You never did need him, you’re a strong independent woman, and never let anyone tell you otherwise. Got it?” Chris said
“Yes. Thank you Chris I love you so much. You have no idea how grateful I am to have someone like you in my life” I responded wiping my eyes
“Kid I love you so fucking much. You’re my best friend, and I don’t want to see you hurting or crying, especially over some loser like him. You deserve better…way better” Chris said pulling me in for a hug
“Thank you Chris” I said hugging him back
“There’s plenty of other guys who will truly care for you, and treat you like the beautiful queen you are” he said kissing my head
“You’re right” I said pulling away from the hug to wipe my eyes one more time
“Who knows?? Maybe I’m that guy” Chris said wiggling his brows
I started to laugh “yeah maybe. Who knows” I said giving him a smile
“There’s that beautiful smile of yours” he said smiling back
“I love you Chris”
“I love you too Y/N”
The End
Hope yall like this one too. I’m like ehhh about this, but I liked the idea. I’ll be posting the Matt cabin in the woods, and poignant part 2 tonight, but for rn IMA TAKE A NAP CAUSE A BITCH IS TIREDDD

“The first time I met the Jeong family was shortly after Ma died,” San began, in a low relaxed tone as if he was talking about what he had for lunch yesterday. “I was quite young, but my father was grief-stricken and I stepped up to support him. He didn’t want me to but he wasn’t as strong as he used to be in arguments with me after her passing, so he just let me learn the trades of our business.”
He chuckled darkly, rubbing the tip of his thumb along the soft plush of his lower lip. “Should’ve listened to him,” he admitted with a hint of regret in his voice and a darkness in his eye you recognised from your own reflection. “Should’ve stayed a kid a little bit longer like Ma wanted me to and not want to be the hero that could fix everything like she seemed to do.”
His deep gaze bore into you for a few beats until he spoke once more. “The first time I met the Jeong family, the patriarch was beating the ever living shit out of his own son.”
You tried your best not to freeze, and although you knew of the treatment Yunho had endured there, it certainly felt a whole lot different hearing it from someone else. Hearing it from San.
He noticed your shift and gently grasped your hand over the table, running his thumb soothingly against your knuckles to try and ease the horror he could feel building inside you.
“My dad,” he resumed in that detached tone again, “had grown up with a horrible mother and an even worse father. When he met Ma, he was still a bit of a...’fixer upper’. But he changed. Said he wanted to give himself a reason for her to be proud of loving him, a reason she would want to call him her husband when the time came for him to propose--and most importantly, he was just so tired of hating his own soul. Wanted to love it as much as she did.”
A soft, intimate smile played against his lips for a brief moment. “Once, she told me that loving him came as easy as breathing.” His eyes flickered to yours, so much weight behind them, and his hand that held yours seared with a heat you couldn’t find yourself to pull away from.
“By the time they had me, they were very clear on what morals I was to have. And neither of them stopped drilling it into me until their dying breath.” San chuckled humourlessly. “Sometimes I still hear their ghosts whisper it into my ears, in the gentle way they spoke.”
His eyes closed as he recounted one of the last things he ever heard his father say all the way back in Santorini five years ago. “(We too have morals. There are some lines we must never cross.) One of them was that family and friends were sacred. You can’t hurt them. Can’t fix them through pain.”
You do your best not to think of Isaac but his face flashes for the briefest of moments in your mind and you hate yourself all the more for it.
His eyes shut more tightly as if trying to stop seeing the memory once more, a shuddering breath released from his lungs. “I’ve seen and done some horrible shit, Y/N, but what I saw that day? Fucking hell. No child should ever have to suffer that much, never mind at the hands of one of the few people in this cruel world that was supposed to protect him.”
Tears threatened to spill from your eyes as memories resurfaced for you too--of Yunho and his breakdowns, of the scars that littered every inch of his torso, of the slight limp in his left leg and occasional shoulder pain from broken bones that never managed to set quite right. Memories of that sweet, sweet boy made of sunshine and smiles consumed in nightmarish slumber, still trying to fight off the ghosts of his past that felt all too real to him. Frozen. Unable to move. Unable to protect himself.
San may have seen part of the actual abuse Yunho had to endure, but Y/N had to witness for the past five years how he tried so damn hard to not slip back down, even if it sometimes oozed out of the cracks in the walls he built. And Seonghwa? Jesus, Seonghwa was the one who who truly saw it all--how it almost broke Yunho, how he almost broke himself to try to get away from his own mind.
Guilt resurfaced as a heavy knot in your throat, imagining Yunho starting to slip back again. There were triggers but he’d worked well to cope in a healthy way, they all supported him in managing his responses, in helping him re-associate some of those triggers with better, nicer things. But being this close again? God, you should really go back home, end all of this.
But you need to do this. Yunho needs you to do this much at least.
“Y/N,” San coaxes you away from your thoughts, and if he noticed that you disappeared for a few moment, he did not mention it. “I care for you. More than any person on this earth. Would travel through the nine circles of hell and back to protect you. You know that right?”
Strangely, you did. From the reverent way he looks at you, holds your hand, speaks to you. Faking something like that must have needed intervention from some higher being. Without another thought, you nod.
“Good. So you know that I want to keep you far away from things that may harm you. I’m already a dangerous person with many enemies but the Jeong family have a darkness I couldn’t bare to have you near.”
“I don’t need you to protect me, San,” you whisper, voice feeling fragile in such a raw moment. “Got plenty of darkness in me already.”
He looks at you with this sad sort of smile. “I know. Wanna kiss you for being so strong and scorch the world for not stopping itself from hurting you.” He brings the hand still in his own up to his lips, letting it brush along the slightly rough skin in the barest of kisses as if content with feeling the warmth of your soul through your very fingertips. “I’ve been around enough sorrow to know when there is still goodness in something and you have so much goodness in you despite what you’ve been through.”
He pauses.
“Maybe one day you’ll find enough comfort with me to confide in it all. But until then, let me shield you from the unnecessary pain.”
You don’t remember how much time passes as the words seep into your very heart and bones and soul. While the very concept of being cared for and shouldering the burden you carry has always been an unspoken rule between your family and even more so the boys, you’ve never had someone say that to you and it feels almost overwhelming to hear it. As if your brain is having a hard time processing the fact that here is someone on this godforsaken earth who cares for you as deeply as San does and would want to stay by you side in spite of all of that.
In spite of the damage to your soul and pieces missing from your heart.
Even while you were with Dominic, there was a side of you that you felt was unworthy of being seen--shameful even--though it wasn’t you fault. You still had to keep guards up sometimes even with Mingi, and in this very room where the outside world with every messy thing that came with it was just noise far down below, you started to feel the toll it took on you. The energy is sucked out of you, the weight of keeping it up all the time.
Suddenly, confiding in Choi San didn’t seem like a bad idea at all.
But then you remembered that some of the bricks that made up that wall you held up against him weren’t yours to share with him.
“There’s...” Tongue flickering out to lick your lips, you’re unsure of how to phrase this in a way that won’t divulge in too much information, “I just...” You take a deep breath to calm your nerves. God, why was your heart racing that fast?
San could tell the conundrum you were going through. Went through the same after all, with how much he could divulge you with for he too had walls built up and for good reason.
He took the initiative. “You asked about Jeong Yunho specifically... why?”
“I wanted to know what you knew about him.” But neither of you mentioned how from the crumbs San gave you, both of you knew that Yunho was the boy he was talking about. Stiffening the air like dust in an abandoned house.
“Why?” he repeated.
Your mouth opened. Closed. Opened again. Damn it, you were good at this. Good at coming up with shit on the spot--why isn’t your brain working right now? Why do you want to tell him the truth? That truce between you two is starting to shrivel up, walls pushing back up again--
“Remember, Y/N, I can’t give you an answer if you don’t give me a good enough reason in return.” San’s last plea to get you to open up so he could do the same.
You pull your hands from his grasp to run through your hair, and the walls start to go up even higher the both of you can feel it.
Blowing a frustrated breath out you get up from your seat, turn your back to him as you make your way to your nightstand.
The man lets his face crumble as his heart drops in his stomach all the while he watches you walk away from him both physically and mentally. He leans back into the chair, feeling--for the first time in a long time--defeated.
He sees you grab the glass of water on your nightstand and finish the whole thing in a few big gulps. He wants to tell you to be careful, that you’ll choke, but his voice is caught in his tight throat unable to come out.
Setting the glass back down, you take a moment before you turn back to him. There’s something in your eyes that tells him, maybe your wall isn’t fully up yet. There’s some cracks. And then you ask him, in a soft voice, “stay with me the night?” You try to regain some playfulness by narrowing your eyes in a mock glare. “No funny business.”
He musters up as much of a smile as he can at the moment--it’s weak and tired, but there’s the remnants of that brief truce there. He doesn’t speak and neither do you as he walks to the opposite side of the bed and crawls in with you.
You both lie on your backs, you looking up at the ceiling while he looks at you. Making no move to touch you, not even move closer to you.
You close your eyes, letting him gaze at you with those curiously sad eyes of his. So attuned to his breathing, you can tell even when a lot of time--or a little, you can’t tell as the concept doesn’t seem to exist in this room right now, but it feels like a lot--he still hasn’t fallen asleep yet. His thoughts are loud but not loud enough for you to hear them.
He feels the same way about you. Knows that you’re awake, mind running with thoughts that escape him and damn it fucking hurts to be this shut out from you.
You want to speak the words--any words to him or at least intertwine one of your fingers with his. To show some semblance that things have changed, that you have not shut him out completely like he might think.
But at one point, you lose the mental battle and fall into a dreamless sleep.
Tumblr media
When you wake, San is nowhere to be found. You’re curled up facing where he would be and feel around to notice that the spot is cold and that side of the bed is made. He’s been gone for a while, you confirm once you notice the time on your phone, because it is almost one in the afternoon and he must have had business to attend to.
That didn’t stop the faint pang inside you at his sudden absence after last night.
Groaning, you roll you body up, trying to rub the sleep from your eyes while you think how could things change so much for you in such a short space of time since you met San.
His crazy seems to be rubbing off on you, since you feel some kind of attachment to him? Or at least, you feel a little more empty when he is not there. Jesus, at this rate, you might actually want to stay with him by the end of the year.
You find that thought terrifying, though not as all-consuming as you expected it to feel. Like the kind of terror that came with standing at the edge of a cliff that you can just as easily back away from into the safety of land rather than stare at the rough dark waters crashing on jagged rocks below.
You have been through enough shit to know when you really need to talk to someone about how you’re feeling. And right now you need to talk to someone.
Run through the talking points in your head as you freshen up in the bathroom, already knowing that today feels like a pyjama day. You feel sick just thinking about the idea of talking about your feelings, that familiar sense of dread curdling in your stomach. So you don’t leave the confines of your bedroom for a late breakfast--you can barely think of stomaching the smell of breakfast.
Cold sweats lace your palms as you click on Mingi’s contact on your phone, practice some level breathing as ringing presses against your ear. It doesn’t take long for you to hear his voice.
“Hey, wassup?”
“Hey,” you try to say confidently but it comes out as a strangled whisper from the funny feeling in your throat.
A pause, and then, “What happened?”
The instinctive answer comes out despite all the mental preparation. “Nothing.”
“Y/N, what happened?”
“Nothing...”
He sighs, “The last time you answered the phone like this and I played along, you were in a horrible situation. I’m not making that mistake again. Now tell me, what happened?”
You don’t know why but hot fat tears spill from your eyes in quick succession against your will. Silent as they come, you know he can tell. He was always able to. “Mingi, I don’t know what to do,” you whisper as it all comes crashing down on you.
“It’s been weeks since everything’s happened and I don’t know why but it’s all come crashing down and I just don’t know what to do.”
“Okay, that okay,” he coaches, “Just grab onto the closest threat. Start from there. Bit by bit.”
“I just,” you try to take deep breaths and make a clumsy attempt to explain the pent up emotions, “it’s so stupid but it only really just hit me how much Dominic hurt, you know? I didn’t love him but I did like him and just... being treated like that, like I’m nothing of worth fucking hurt. It was the first time I was with someone since...him and it ended up hurting me again and I swore I would never let my heart get hurt again and...and--”
You pause. Breathe.
“And then there’s what I’m putting Yunho through simply by being here with San, all because I wanted to escape my problems and feelings again. I can barely even do my job right because I can’t get a straight answer out of him--or any of the others because they’re tight-knit and won’t betray San like that even if it is to shit-talk his ex.”
Not even Wooyoung, who you seemed to have the most rapport with out of the three boys. You tried getting information out of them over the few days San was avoiding you (and admittedly you, him) from the initial bathroom confrontation, but each of them were tight-lipped and you knew without them having to say that San told them to remain that way about the subject.
More waves of fatigue wash over you, and you lift your legs up and rest your forehead on your knees. “And the worst part is, is that San cares about me in a way no one has. At least, not in the same sense you guys do. And it feels different but my brain is telling me its the same honey trap all over again. I’m holding myself back from opening up to him, which is the smart move all things considering, but some part of me wants to open up to him and that scares me so damn much.”
Mingi doesn’t interrupt even as you pause again, knowing you well enough to be able to tell when you’ve finished talking and when you’re taking a moment to find the truest words to string together even if it sometimes doesn’t make sense when it is translated from your mind.
“Last night, he came to me and told me that if I wanted answers out of him, I would have to hear why he didn’t want to tell me then tell him why he should tell me.” You sigh. “Mingi, he knows about what they did to Yunho--or at least snippets of what his dad did to him. I’m sure he knows that I know that too because I made the stupid fucking decision to ask about Yunho specifically. He said he didn’t want me near people like that...”
Isaac’s presence filled the silence but neither of you mentioned it.
“He asked me to tell him why I needed to know...and I just...couldn’t. It wasn’t my place and we both kind of shut down on each other and for some fucking reason, it hurt a bit. I just...” You let out another heavy breath. “I don’t know. It feels so messy.”
A beat or two passes before he exhales. “Okay. Yeah, that is pretty fuckin’ heavy.” You smile, breathing out a little amused laugh. “But that’s okay, Y/N. None of this shit ever comes easily.
“First and foremost, before we touch any of that other shit you just said, you need to get it through to your head that you are in absolutely no way, shape, or form, the reason why all this is being dredged up again. You of all people know how the past has a nasty way of catching up to us, and Yunho was going to have to face it sooner or later. Yes, the fact that you’re with San means that it did come sooner, but that doesn’t make it bad whatsoever.
“Yunho has his own demons and we can’t protect him forever, no matter how much we want to. If anything, this couldn’t have come at a better time. Our future isn’t exactly secure in the field we work in so at least it’s coming now when we are all here to support him through his problems and help him grow. But remember, we’re not powerless kids anymore. Yunho knows that too, he’s just trying to get his brain up to speed with it in his own way.”
You want to protest that you can do more, but the words die on your tongue as you tell our brain that Mingi is right. Yunho has to work through his own demons, and you being there to baby him through the process would be more counter-productive than anything.
Mingi clears his throat. “You’re stubborn and a major empath, so I dunno if any of that stuck.”
You smile faintly. “I’m trying to make it.”
“Good. Now, onto the whole spaghetti of emotions you’re having about San and relationships.” He sighs, “you weren’t wrong when you said it was messy. But don’t think for a second that it’s not supposed to be. Your hearts been stomped on to high heaven so I don’t blame you one bit for not wanting to give San a chance.” You open your mouth to protest but he already hears the fight coming and cuts it out of the roots, “I know we joked about you falling for San at the beginning and you have this whole aversion to the concept of ‘love’ so for arguments sake, we’ll just say you like him and chalk this situation as Fate being the bitch that it is.”
He hesitates for a moment. “I was actually planning on telling you this later, when you had finally come to terms with your own feelings about the whole Dominic thing but it seems like you did that already--which, by the way, I am very proud of you. Even if it did come out as a part of an emotional explosion since you have a horrible habit of bottling everything in until you’re bursting at the seems.”
“Thanks,” your tone is deadpan with an underlying tone of amusement to it.
“No problem. Anyway, Seonghwa made Yeosang and I do some more research into San--he was doing all this fancy computer wizard shit again and I did some incognito spy shit--and he really doesn’t seem that bad of a person. I mean, yeah, he’s got as much blood on his hands as the next mobster but he just seems to be a nice person? Again, relative to him being part of the mafia world. So if you wanted to open up to him... I mean, I don’t see why not.”
“He could have that side to him, the one he doesn’t show to everyone. He could hurt me.”
“Y/N, don’t take this the wrong way... but that will always be a possibility with anyone you meet--be it a potential friend or partner or whatever. You learn from the pain and mistakes, and recognise the signs more easily if you see them again so you don’t get hurt as badly as the last time. You left Dominic when he cheated on you, recognising that as one of the signs that he didn’t care for you as you wanted him to. You learned from the last time. And what did you learn from Dominic that you’ll keep an eye out for?”
You don’t realise that the tears had stopped until they started again at his gentle tone and careful words. This time, slower. “I wasn’t as important to him as his ego and reputation was. He was very different to how he was in public and how he was in private,” you sniffled, recalling all the times he would try to seem Big and Masculine in from of his friends often at your expense.
It happened on your way to Jeju, when you were struggling with the luggage and he was chatting to his friends about how he was going on a casual holiday, forgetting that it was supposed to be a birthday trip for you and Mingi. Even at the birthday dinner, he tried to make a speech that fed his ego as the Good Boyfriend at the expense of one of the most important people in your life.
“The point is, you can’t be so afraid of being hurt again that you shut everyone out. That’s a painfully slow death you’ll be experiencing. You live, you hurt, you learn, you move on. What did Auntie L/N always say when we were being angsty kids?”
You mouth quirked at the memory of your mother. “Let the negative emotions come, let them teach you, but never let them overstay.” God, you missed her.
“Yeah. You’ve got that wise woman gene from her. Maybe rather than only using it for others, use it for yourself too.”
Sniffles filled in the silence as you let that sink in, silently promising yourself that you would try to do that. That you would try to be kinder to yourself.
“As for the Yunho shit in relation to San...trust your gut. You know what to say and what not to.”
“Okay,” you mumble, feeling another tsunami of fatigue wash over you again now that this is all off your chest. “You said you did some spy shit? Are you Seoul right now?”
“Damn, I was planning on surprising you. Just a few towns over, actually, but still in Choi territory.”
“What if I speak to San? About letting you come here to visit me? I don’t think he’d say no.”
He thinks for a second. “Hm, well I’m gonna see you anyway so you might as well see if you can get a less fun way too I suppose.”
This time your chuckle comes out stronger and once Mingi feels like you’re in a decent mental state, he lets you end the call.
Tumblr media
Any second-in-command worth their salt would be attuned to their leader and able to take over the heavy lifting when it was beginning to get too much for them. And Hongjoong was priceless so it didn’t take much for him to sense San’s off mood. He was not as sharp today, was not as focused as he usually was and that was strange in and of itself.
San was always great at compartmentalising and separating his work and personal affairs so they did not bleed into one another--which was a fucking feat considering most of the men in these circles lived and breathed their work life (not a very healthy thing to do) and also the fact that San used to date Jeong Dae who came from a very powerful family in their own right.
There was only one being who could frazzle this impenetrable man.
Wooyoung and Jongho had spent the most time with you and so had begun to take a liking to you--then again, the what they considered to be a nice partner was a line down all the way in the ninth circle of hell after their experience with Dae.
More than anything, he was frustrated because you do seem like a nice person--stuffed full of secrets that you hold tightly to your chest more so than the average person--but he cared more for San’s heath and right now, he looked fucking terrible.
He knew that if the other man got a whiff of how Hongjoong was trying to take care of him, he would get annoyed from being treated like a child. Would try that much harder to take on more of the work. Years of having to deal with him taught him the fine art of how to manipulate the stubborn ass into looking after his own wellbeing but being willing to share some of the workload.
But even masters of craft come along a new situation they are unsure of how to handle once in a while.
“San?”
“Yeah,” he mumbles absentmindedly, staring at sheets of paper the blue-haired man knows for a fact is reading two-three times over just to get the words to make sense to him through the foggy lethargic haze clouding his brain. Could see it in his eyes.
“Did you get any sleep last night?”
He takes in a deep breathe. “Uh... not much. Couldn’t sleep.”
“How come?”
“Just...couldn’t.”
He hums in response, not taking his eyes of the sheets in from of him. “I think we both know that’s a lie.”
San slaps his own documents onto his desk, rubbing his eyes in frustration. “Then what do you want me to say? Do you want me to open up and talk about my feelings?”
Hongjoong presses his lips in to a thin line. “That’d be a start...” When he feels San’s growing agitation, he finally looks up at him. “You don’t have to go into detail about anything if you don’t wanna, but dude, you can’t just pretend whatever is on your mind isn’t, ya know?”
His words don’t seem to persuade him to talk, at least he thinks they don’t when the other man picks up the closest sheet of paper next to him...and then throws it back down and sits in a huff back in his chair. “She just... she just won’t open up to me. Like, I’m trying so hard here and there’s that barrier between us. Last night,” his tone softens a little as the memory washed over him, “it seemed like things were shifting. Like she was starting to let me in.”
He take a few seconds to calm the growing irritation he felt. “I extended an olive branch and when it was her turn, she just...shut me out again. I mean, I suppose she tried to offer an alternative by letting me stay with her--” he ignored the other’s raised brows “--but it wasn’t the same.”
Even with the holes and lack of your side of the story, Hongjoong had an idea of the whole situation. “Right, I can’t believe what I’m about to say but...are you sure she’s not totally at fault for that?” He notices the look he sends him. “Okay, hear me out. Imagine you’re in her shoes and some rando just up and kidnapped you. No matter how nicely you treat her, she isn’t going to bare the deepest parts of her soul to you after a few weeks. She’s not trusting, like she’s a... like a...”
He tried to find the right analogy, right at the tip of his tongue, but San beat him to it with a quiet answer. “Like a wounded animal.”
“Uh... Yeah. I think. She’s got that vibe about her, that she’s been hurt before and so keeps herself closed off. And maybe you need to think about yourself too. With what we do, you’re going to have to keep secrets from her--you are keeping secrets from her by being cryptic and not willing to answer her questions. I mean, you’re not entirely wrong for not wanting to tell her about the Jeongs, but do you really think she would want to give up any of those pieces of herself she holds so close to her chest to someone who won’t fully do the same for her?”
Hongjoong has a strong sense you’re a lot more intelligent than what you make yourself seem, but he doesn’t say that. “I don’t know what to do or how to fix your situation--only you and Y/N can do that--but you should at least see her side of things too. And maybe just take it a bit easy when you’re this annoyed because you’re not getting much done and that’s pissing you off even more.”
“...Geez, dude. Okay.” San rubs his hands over his face and sighs. “Okay. Yeah. I’ll, uh... are you good with handling this?”
“It’s literally my job.”
“Alright,” he huffs in amusement, then stands up to gather his coat and phone, ready to call his driver to take him back to the apartment. “Oh, and--”
Hongjoong cuts him off without looking back at him. “Yeah, everything’s ready at home. I’ll let the house staff know that we’re coming back this weekend and to make sure it’s all perfect.”
San smiles at him in gratitude. “What would I do without you?”
“Not a damn thing, that’s for sure.”
Yeah, Hongjoong doesn’t need to be told if he’s a good Second. He damn well knows it from the grateful look in his best friend’s eye. That’s enough for him

(Where Steve wants to ban Clint from bringing things home from alternative dimensions, until he doesn't.)
Eternity (ao3) - STARSdidathing loki/tony T, 4k

Heat (ao3) - Deastar bruce/natasha E, 22k
Summary: Bruce tries to think of a different angle; there are some facts they’re stuck with, but they may be able to change how their captors perceive those facts. After a moment, he suggests, “What if we make them think—not try to hide that you’re in heat, that’s the truth we could build on—but make them think… you’re in an omega’s heat?” He can see that Natasha immediately likes the idea, but she’s turning it over in her mind, poking at the weak spots, testing the sharp edges. Imprisoned together in a cave, Bruce and Natasha turn their higher thought processes to escape. But not all instincts are bad instincts.
Heroes (ao3) - Overlithe sam/bucky E, 29k
Summary: It’s their first day off in a month and after an exhausting mission all Sam wanted to do was to stay home instead of being dragged by Bucky on a tour of DC’s touristic highlights. But a superhero’s work is never done, especially not when there’s explosions, problems you can’t punch, and a screening of the Greatest Film of All Time.
A slice-of-costumed-hero-life story about loss and hope, the past and the future, and killer bird gifs. (Set a few years after TWS & CA:CW and featuring BuckyCap and FalCap. Also, they make out while in costume, which I feel is the most important part of this summary.)
Homefront - copperbadge steve/tony E, 12k
Summary: Steve Rogers is a capable leader, a kind and cheerful man, a good friend, a strong role model, and a loyal soldier. He's also teetering on the edge of suicide.

Summary: Bucky and Darcy are having trouble communicating. When Bucky suggests they take a break, she assumes it's over. But sometimes a break is just what the doctor ordered…
Orgasmus (ao3) - OhCaptainMyCaptain steve/bucky E, 13k
Summary: It had always felt like his life was nothing but decision-making; what with work, taking out the dames, making ends meet all the time at home - Bucky was always expected to have the answers. That’s how society told him he needed to be. When he was at home, though, things were different. The second his shoes came off and that front door was closed, the only thing Bucky had always wanted was for someone to take care of him.
Ravioli (ao3) - monobuu bucky/tony M, 7k
Summary: Bucky attempts to get Tony’s attention by claiming Pop Tarts are Ravioli. Tony reacts as one might expect.
Run (ao3) - itsallAvengers steve/tony T, 6k
Summary: Steve took a long breath, shutting his eyes and putting two fingers up the bridge of his nose.
“So you’re telling me… you decided it would be a good idea… to start a fight when you were outnumbered… twenty to one?” He asked shortly.
Tony grinned then, and nodded his head.
Salami (ao3) - L1av steve/bucky E, 25k
Summary: Everyone hears stories about the idiots who have to go to the ER to get random objects removed from their asses. If someone told Bucky he’d be spending his weekend in the hospital for one of the most embarrassing occurrences of his life, he’d probably laugh in their face and tell them to go fuck off. But here he is, in the ER with eleven inches of packaged, cold salami stuck up his ass. To make matters worse, his nurse is really hot. Really hot.
Join Bucky for one of the most awkward and yet comical experiences of his life that leads to self-discovery, trust and maybe even love.
Spellbound (ao3) - missbecky steve/tony E, 31k
Summary: After their alien hosts witness yet another heated argument between Steve and Tony, they are hit with a powerful magic spell in order to teach them a lesson. Now they are stranded and alone on a hostile planet. One of them can't see and the other can't hear, and the only way back to safety is on foot. And the Forest is full of dangers…
Sprinkles (ao3) - The_Nerd_Alert steve/bucky E, 225k
Summary: When people asked him 'So Mr. Rogers… what is it you do for a living?', they expected some epic answer; something heroic and demanding, and completely fitting this Herculean supermodel standing before them. That was not the answer they got. Instead, Steve would just give them a knowing look. Steve would laugh. Steve would always answer with a huge smile, ready to take them all by surprise. What was his answer?
'I bake cupcakes for a living.'
Steve Rogers owns the best Cupcakery in Brooklyn. The garage that just opened across the street, however, may be driving business away with its seemingly dirty and rough-around-the-edges staff. Add in the stress of planning a wedding with his fiancée Sharon, plus a high-strung finance manager, and Steve was a nervous wreck. But when the drop-dead gorgeous mechanic with a sleeve full of tattoos and long brown hair comes into his shop one day with a nervous smile and two dollars in his pocket, Steve doesn't think anything could really come of this chance meeting. It's just harmless flirting. Right?
Boy was he wrong...

In a strategic move that aims to boost the offerings of faith and family content, Great American Family and Pure Flix Entertainment have now completed a merger that will combine two popular media companies. Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Family, discussed the significance of the new focus, highlighting the shared values and the bright future the collaboration holds.
Abbott emphasized the alignment of values and missions between Great American Family and Pure Flix as a pivotal factor in the merger’s success. “This is really a match made in heaven. The values and missions of both Great American Media and Pure Flix are completely aligned,” Abbott stated.
With the growing trend of shifting viewership from traditional linear TV to streaming platforms, Abbott sees the merger as a strategic step toward reaching a broader audience while staying true to their shared mission. “Viewers are shifting from linear TV more and more to streaming. While linear TV still has a longer runway to go, we now have a streaming outlet that gives us the chance to reach 80 million potential subscribers that don’t get Great American Family,” he explained.
The collaboration also involves a reciprocal approach. Abbott revealed that Great American Family would feature content from Pure Flix’s library on its linear TV channels. “We tapped into the Pure Flix library and saw some content that was available for linear as well. We’ll be proud to have content like ‘Strong Fathers Strong Daughters’ on our channel,” Abbott noted, emphasizing their commitment to inspiring and uplifting programming.
When asked about the growth of Great American Family, Abbott pointed to their flagship channel’s impressive trajectory. “We’ve had triple digit growth since November of this past year, finishing our eighth consecutive month as the leader in growth in the entire cable landscape,” he shared. This sustained growth demonstrates the strong appetite for faith and family content in a media landscape that often lacks such offerings.
Exploring the reasons behind the surge in popularity of faith-based programming, Abbott stated, “There are less and less outlets out there that are 24/7, 365 days a year, just so focused on never surprising the viewer in a negative way…but also compelling, inspiring, uplifting, and celebratory of many of the institutions and philosophies of the majority of the country.”
Abbott acknowledged the significance of key acquisitions, including talents like Candace Cameron Buré and Danica McKellar, who have elevated the mission of Great American Family. He described Buré’s role as Chief Content Officer, highlighting her exceptional creativity, understanding of branding, and commitment to the company’s mission.
“She is bringing us a number of different projects that really will resonate across both the faith and family audience in a different way,” he said. “And she is mission driven, as are many of our talent, from Danica and on and on.”

Did you know 80% of leaders think AI will hugely change their business in five years? This fact highlights how quickly AI is transforming different sectors. Dave Antrobus, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Inc & Co, leads the way in this change. He shows us how AI is mixed with the future of work.
Dave Antrobus imagines a future where AI in the workforce is essential, not just an advantage. He talks about how it affects jobs and changes business models. His insights help us see the changes and chances AI brings to jobs. Let’s explore the deep effects and opportunities Dave Antrobus sees with AI in our work lives.
Introduction to Dave Antrobus’s Vision
Dave Antrobus is a leader in the technology field, pushing the boundaries of workforce development. He understands how AI changes industries and focuses on using advanced tech to boost productivity and teamwork.
He believes in the power of technology innovation, like AI, to transform how we work. By using AI, companies can make their processes more efficient and promote a culture of ongoing learning and change. This allows people to do more creative and important work, blending human creativity with technology.
Dave Antrobus Inc & Co knows training people for tomorrow’s jobs is essential in an AI-driven world. He supports training programs that help employees keep up with new technology demands. His goal is to close the skills gap in today’s workforce.
Dave Antrobus Inc & Co looks ahead, planning for businesses to excel as technology advances. He stresses the need for companies to be flexible and quick to adopt AI. This way, he guides businesses to find new ways to grow, enter new markets, and use new technologies to reach great achievements.
The Role of AI in Modern Workforces
Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way we work, making teams more productive and efficient. It introduces automation, letting businesses run smoother by cutting down on manual work and errors. This shift lets people focus on tasks that need more thought and creativity, making the most of AI.
Lenovo’s use of Copilot for Microsoft 365 is a great example of AI in action. Here, 65% of users saw a boost in productivity, while 52% saved over 30 minutes every day. This shows that AI tools can free up to nine hours a week for each employee, letting them add more value.
Investing in leadership development is key to using AI to its full potential in workplaces. Good programs can tackle hurdles like communication gaps and figuring out the Return On Investment (ROI). Tech like Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs) also aid in shared learning and improving skills.
Companies that encourage sharing and open communication perform better in adapting to changes and challenges. Take WorkJam’s platform, for instance. It supports tasks in 50 languages and is used by millions around the globe. It makes working together and managing tasks easy, showing how AI helps businesses stay agile and strong.
Overall, bringing AI into daily tasks boosts productivity and helps foster a culture of growth and learning among workers. Companies focused on AI tools and collaborative learning will likely excel in the ever-changing work environment.
AI Integration in the UK Market
Artificial Intelligence is changing how UK companies work. Businesses use AI to improve their operations, customer service, and embrace new technology. This change leads to new ideas and better results in sectors like banking and shopping.
By adopting AI, UK firms are making big leaps. They automate simple tasks, analyse huge amounts of data, and offer custom services. This boosts productivity and helps make better choices. Staying ahead in a fast-changing world is key for them.
In the UK, many big projects show how keen they are on AI. Banks use AI to spot fraud. Shops predict what products they’ll need. AI’s role in different fields shows the UK’s aim to make the most of this tech.
Also, AI encourages ongoing creativity, a must to lead in the global market. UK businesses are always finding new ways to use AI. This leads to benefits for both companies and their customers. The UK’s focus on AI puts it at the forefront of tech progress and business innovation.
Technology and Job Innovation
The landscape of job innovation is changing fast, thanks to advanced technology, especially AI. AI is making a big difference in workplaces. 80% of people using AI tools see their work getting faster. Technology helps automate tasks, makes data analysis easier, and improves writing support. This change is affecting many job types, especially in data-heavy industries like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
Companies using AI are becoming 40% more productive in some areas. This increase boosts how well they operate and sets new standards for future jobs. With AI, employees can plan better for the long term, analyse the market, and encourage ongoing progress and new ideas.
Workers are also getting more involved with AI. AI platforms suggest custom learning to help them grow professionally. Surprisingly, 29% of people using AI enjoy their work more. This shows that AI can make workers happier and improve their job experiences.
However, learning to use AI is a challenge for many. 62% of workers feel they don’t have the right skills for AI, and just 10% feel fully prepared with the AI skills needed. Leaders need to focus on lifelong learning and support their teams financially to overcome this skill gap. As industries evolve, using AI wisely and sustainably will be key to staying competitive.
The workers of the future must know how to work with AI. Organisations must welcome this change and help their teams grow to use AI fully. As technology reshapes how we innovate in jobs, companies quick to adapt will lead in the changing market.
AI-Driven Digital Jobs of the Future
The workplace is changing fast because of AI technologies, leading to exciting new careers. At Glasgow Clyde College, an experiment with five students showcased this change. They were matched with future roles such as AI Specialists and Robotic Engineers, among others. This showed a growing need for experts in AI, robotics, and virtual reality.
The World Economic Forum in 2023 highlighted the role of AI and VR in creating future jobs. Technological progress is making the job market evolve quickly, with many future jobs still unknown. AI’s role in transforming cybersecurity, by improving threat detection and responses, shows its impact.
Traditional cybersecurity is falling behind against new cyber threats. AI, however, can handle large amounts of data to identify and counteract threats efficiently. It helps security teams by automating tasks and spotting dangers quicker, making systems safer.
Companies like IBM and Darktrace are using AI to detect threats and prevent malware attacks. Future AI developments could introduce better machine learning algorithms and technology combos. Yet, issues like algorithm bias and privacy are challenges to be addressed.
AI tools are boosting productivity, with 80% of users reporting positive effects. Tasks like writing assistance and data analysis are made easier. This leads to employees feeling more engaged and satisfied with their work, improving their work-life balance.
The rise of AI in jobs is bringing big changes to career paths. As AI keeps advancing, it will open up new and in-demand career opportunities. This evolution promises innovative job options for the future.
UK Workforce: Adapting to AI
The UK must adapt to AI to stay ahead. Learning AI skills is essential for everyone. It’s not just about new technology. It involves a whole new approach to work.
AI skills are now crucial in the digital world. Getting ready involves changing how we learn and train. Companies must update their strategies for AI. They should make sure staff can use AI tools easily. Schools and colleges must teach AI topics to fill skill gaps. This will help keep jobs and create new ones.
The UK government must help in adjusting to AI. It should promote ongoing learning and fund AI research. Getting ready for AI will keep the UK leading in the digital economy. This prepares us for AI’s challenges and chances.
AI in the Workforce
The use of AI in the Workforce is changing the workplace greatly. It brings big improvements in productivity and refreshes many job roles. Around 80% of workers using artificial intelligence applications see better efficiency. This is especially true for tasks like writing help, managing work flow, and analysing data.
Companies using these techs see up to a 40% rise in efficiency in some areas. This increase in AI and productivity is reshaping how we work, making it more interesting. Also, 29% of people using AI find more joy in their jobs. This suggests a better feeling toward work and higher performance.
AI coaching is also improving work performance and happiness. Those who use AI daily look forward to more gains in efficiency next year. Over 80% believe their work methods will get even better. Plus, they see a 26% improvement in work-life balance. There’s also a 32% rise in feeling part of a team and a 31% increase in job happiness.
The way we work is constantly changing because of artificial intelligence. AI in the workforce is shaping a better business approach and worker involvement. It’s leading to a workplace that’s more productive and fulfilling for everyone.
Dave Antrobus’s Predictions
Today, Dave Antrobus provides key insights into the tech world’s future, focusing on AI trends and workforce forecasting. These insights are shaping how businesses operate. With most Fortune 500 companies from 1955 now gone, being agile and adaptable is key. Scott Dylan has led Inc & Co since 2019, showing the power of AI in growth, especially in digital marketing and retail.
Companies with engaged teams see their profits grow by 22% and have fewer staff missing work. Dave Antrobus notes that a welcoming culture boosts team involvement by 47%. Inc & Co, an agile firm, is three times more likely to lead in growth by adapting to AI and changing consumer needs. Adopting a learning mindset can boost creativity and problem-solving by 60%. This highlights the value of agility in understanding future tech.
Agile methods can make companies 35% more efficient. Businesses that adopt AI and IoT technologies quickly become more flexible and better at interacting with customers. Dave Antrobus Inc & Co stresses the importance of using advanced analytics for smoother teamwork and communication. These skills are vital in today’s work setting.
Policy and Ethical Considerations
Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming a big part of today’s work life. It raises important questions about rules and right and wrong. It’s vital that there are clear rules for AI in jobs. These rules should protect people’s rights and companies’ responsibilities.
AI’s role in work leads to many ethical problems. These include privacy concerns and possible unfairness in decisions. Companies need to make sure AI is used in a morally sound way.
It’s key to have laws that control AI use to reduce risks. These laws must include clear expectations for being open, responsible, and morally correct. They should protect everyone involved, from workers to bosses.
Also, these laws must protect data and make sure AI tasks are trustworthy. With the right policies, AI can improve how we work while being ethically sound.
Skills and Training for the AI Era
As we step into the AI era, it’s key we focus on learning AI skills. The UK must make big changes to prepare its workforce. This will help us stay ahead in the global scene. Training our workers is crucial, pushing the use of AI across sectors.
With fast tech growth, we need training programs tailored for AI skills. By starting comprehensive training, companies can make their teams better at using AI. This helps workers adapt to new digital jobs, increasing productivity and sparking new ideas.
Our education system must now highlight AI skills to keep the economy growing. We should add AI topics at all school levels, from the start right up to university. Also, schools and businesses must work together. This will offer real-world learning that meets what the markets need.
Putting money and effort into AI skills will create a strong workforce. This workforce will tackle digital era challenges and grab its chances. We must update our education to include AI. This ensures the UK’s place at the top of tech progress globally.
Conclusion
Dave Antrobus’s vision unveils the vast potential of AI in changing the workforce. This technology boosts cybersecurity and creates digital jobs, shaping a new future. AI is key in transforming how we work and envisioning what comes next.
In the UK, industries like healthcare and finance are already seeing the benefits of AI. It can quickly analyse data and predict trends. Companies like IBM and Darktrace use AI to detect threats faster. This protects businesses more effectively.
But adopting AI widely is filled with hurdles. We face issues like bias in algorithms and the need for better training. Only some employees feel ready to use AI. Industries must focus on education and encourage ongoing learning. This will help everyone keep up as AI and technologies like blockchain grow.

CryptoQuant Analysis Reveals Bitcoin’s Entry into Bear Market Phase
Key Points
CryptoQuant’s Bull-Bear Market Cycle Indicator suggests Bitcoin might be in a bear market phase.
Bitcoin’s value is currently decreasing, with market stability in question.
According to a recent update by Julio Moreno, Head of Research at CryptoQuant, there has been a notable shift in the Bitcoin market phase. The company’s Bull-Bear Market Cycle Indicator suggests that Bitcoin may have entered a bear market phase.
Indicator Explained
The Bull-Bear Market Cycle Indicator of CryptoQuant uses the P&L Index, which aggregates various on-chain metrics related to unrealized and realized gains and losses. It determines Bitcoin’s market phase by comparing the P&L Index to its 365-day moving average (MA). A bullish market is signaled when the Index is above the MA, while a drop below the MA indicates a bearish trend.
The indicator simplifies analysis by tracking how much the P&L Index deviates from its 365-day MA. Earlier this year, as Bitcoin’s price hit record highs, the indicator moved into the “overheated bull” zone, reflecting a significant distance from the MA.
According to CryptoQuant’s latest data, Bitcoin is now below the zero mark on the Bull-Bear Market Cycle Indicator. This drop implies that the P&L Index has fallen below its 365-day MA, suggesting a shift into a bear market phase. This is the first such signal from the indicator since January 2023.
Current Market Trends
Bitcoin is presently trading around $57,000, reflecting a nearly 14% decrease over the past week. This decline has raised some concerns among analysts. As per 10X Research, despite recovery attempts, Bitcoin has faced strong resistance between $56,000 and $57,000. The research points out ongoing outflows from Bitcoin spot ETFs and a lack of inflows from stablecoins, suggesting decreased buying interest and raising doubts about market stability.
Historical patterns show that previous bearish signals, like those during the COVID-19 crash in March 2020 and the China mining ban in May 2021, were temporary. This implies that the current bearish phase might also be short-lived. The ultimate impact of this signal on Bitcoin’s price path will largely depend on future market trends and investor behavior.
The future of Bitcoin in August and beyond will largely be influenced by global market trends and upcoming economic events. The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting in September could significantly shape Bitcoin’s direction. Although Bitcoin was initially seen as a hedge against inflation, recent global market changes could impact its performance.
For 2024, there is cautious optimism. Analysts predict a potential increase in Bitcoin’s value, with projections suggesting a possible peak of around $120,000 if the current bearish indicators switch to the expected bullish bull-run trends. Nevertheless, investors should stay alert to market conditions and economic indicators that may affect Bitcoin’s future movements.

From Clicks to Clients: Exploring Website Design & Development for Business Growth.
Tumblr media
In today’s digital age, having a strong online presence is key for businesses to thrive. Websites serve as the cornerstone of this presence, playing important roles in branding, customer engagement, and revenue generation. This guide explores the importance of website design & development in driving business success. From establishing brand identity to fostering customer relationships and exploring diverse revenue streams, we’ll explore how businesses can leverage their websites effectively. With practical insights and strategies, businesses can maximize the potential of their online presence and stay ahead in the competitive digital aspect.
Importance Of Website Development & Design.
Global Reach:One of the most significant advantages of website design &  development is reaching an international audience. Unlike a physical store or office, which is limited by geographical constraints, your website is accessible to anyone with an internet connection, anywhere in the world. This global reach opens up a vast pool of potential customers, allowing you to expand your market beyond local boundaries and tap into new revenue streams.
Tumblr media
24/7 AccessibilityA website never sleeps. It’s open for business 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This means that customers can visit your website and make purchases at any time, even outside of regular business hours. By providing round-the-clock accessibility, you can cater to the needs of busy consumers who prefer to shop online at their convenience, thereby increasing sales and revenue opportunities.
Marketing and BrandingWebsite development serves as a centralized hub for your marketing efforts, allowing you to showcase your products or services, share testimonials, and communicate your brand’s story effectively. Through search engine optimization (SEO), social media integration, and content marketing strategies, your website can attract organic traffic and generate leads, thereby fueling business growth.
Brand Visibility and AwarenessYour website serves as the digital face of your brand. It’s often the first point of contact for potential customers searching for products or services online. A well-designed website with compelling content, eye-catching visuals, and intuitive navigation not only attracts visitors but also leaves a lasting impression. By consistently reinforcing your brand identity and messaging across your website, you increase brand visibility and awareness, making your business more recognizable and memorable to your target audience.
Tumblr media
Lead Generation and ConversionWebsite development is a powerful tool for generating leads and converting them into customers. Through strategic calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead capture forms, you can encourage visitors to take specific actions, such as signing up for newsletters, downloading resources, or making purchases. By nurturing these leads through targeted marketing campaigns and personalized communication, you can guide them through the sales funnel and ultimately convert them into paying customers.
Content Marketing and SEOHigh-quality content is the cornerstone of any successful website. By regularly publishing relevant and valuable content, such as blog posts, articles, videos, and infographics, you not only engage your audience but also improve your website’s search engine visibility. Search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, such as keyword optimization, meta tags, and link building, help improve your website’s ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs), making it easier for potential customers to find you online. This increased visibility drives organic traffic to your website, resulting in more leads and sales over time.
Customer Engagement and LoyaltyWebsite development is a powerful platform for engaging with your audience and building long-term relationships with customers. Interactive features such as live chat, forums, and social media integration allow you to connect with visitors in real time, address their queries, and gather feedback. By providing valuable resources, educational content, and personalized recommendations, you demonstrate your commitment to customer satisfaction and foster loyalty toward your brand.
Data Analytics and InsightsWebsites provide valuable data and insights into visitor behavior, preferences, and demographics through analytics tools. By analyzing metrics such as website traffic, conversion rates, bounce rates, and user engagement, you gain valuable insights into the effectiveness of your marketing efforts and the performance of your website. This data-driven approach enables you to identify areas for improvement, optimize your marketing strategies, and make informed decisions to drive business growth.
Tumblr media
Scalability and AdaptabilityAs your business grows and evolves, your website can adapt to accommodate changes and expansions seamlessly. Whether you’re adding new products, launching promotional campaigns, or targeting different market segments, your website can be easily updated and customized to reflect your evolving business objectives. This scalability ensures that your online presence remains aligned with your overarching growth strategy.
Adaptation to Mobile DevicesWith the increasing prevalence of smartphones and tablets, having a mobile-responsive website is crucial for reaching mobile users and providing them with a seamless browsing experience. Mobile optimization not only improves user satisfaction but also boosts your search engine rankings, as search engines prioritize mobile-friendly websites in their results pages.
Types Of Website
Tumblr media
Static website: Static websites have fixed content and layout that doesn’t change for users. They’re built with basic HTML, CSS, and sometimes JavaScript. These sites are simple, fast, and secure because they don’t use server-side processing or databases. This makes them cost-effective to host. Static websites are ideal for small businesses, portfolios, and informational pages that don’t need frequent updates or interactive features.
Dynamic website: Dynamic websites generate real-time content, changing based on user interactions or other factors. These sites use server-side scripting languages like PHP, ASP.NET, or Python to pull data from databases and display it. Dynamic websites are interactive and can provide personalized user experiences.
Responsive website: This ensures that web pages adapt and display properly on various devices and screen sizes, such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones. It uses techniques like fluid grids, flexible images, and media queries to dynamically adjust the layout and content. Responsive design improves user experience by providing optimal viewing and interaction, regardless of the device being used.
E-Commerce website: E-commerce website design is all about creating online stores where businesses sell stuff. These sites have things like product listings, shopping carts, and secure payment options. They’re designed to make it easy for customers to find and buy what they want. Think of it like a digital version of a store where you can shop from your phone or computer.
Single Page Website: Single-page website design means all the content fits on a single web page. Instead of clicking on different pages, you scroll down to see everything. These sites are great for simple purposes like portfolios or event pages. They’re easy to navigate and work well on mobile devices.
Conclusion
In today’s digital age, a well-designed website is essential for business growth. It expands your reach globally, making your business accessible to potential customers around the clock. A professional-looking website builds credibility, instills trust, and enhances your brand’s reputation.
Website development serves as a central hub for marketing efforts, customer engagement, and relationship building. Websites provide valuable data insights, allowing you to make informed decisions and optimize your strategies. With e-commerce capabilities, targeted marketing, and cost-effective operations, a website offers numerous advantages that traditional business models can’t match.
Moreover, websites offer scalability, adaptability, and the ability to gather customer feedback for continuous improvement. They establish your brand as an authority in your industry, attract organic traffic, and ensure accessibility for all users. Optimizing for mobile devices further extends your reach and enhances user satisfaction.
In essence, investing in a robust website is crucial for any business aiming to thrive in the competitive digital landscape. Use your website as a powerful tool for long-term success, beyond simply staying competitive.

Alumni Spotlight: Alessandro Russo
1. What first piqued your interest in the Italian language and why did you decide to get an MA in Italian Studies?
My parents immigrated from Naples, Italy and our regional language Neapolitan was always spoken in the house, among my parents, grandmother, siblings, and aunts. Although not standard Italian, this imbued within me a strong connection to Italy and an interest in knowing more about the country of my ancestors, especially during my teenage and early adult years. I began immersing myself in Italian music, films, magazines, and books to familiarize myself with Italian culture and develop an ear for standardized Italian. I also took my first college courses in beginning and intermediate Italian at local colleges to enhance my knowledge of Italian language and culture. I worked in the public sector for many years afterwards and was not able to formally study Italian though I continued to engage with anything Italian including making friends and acquaintances with other Italians and Italian Americans. It wasn’t until I began attending Cal State Long Beach and spoke to Dr. Carlo Chiarenza who encouraged me to change my major to Italian. Soon after I met with Dr. Clorinda Donato who heard my spoken Italian and immediately boosted my confidence that I could pursue an Italian BA. Dr. Donato changed my major that day and that is when I seriously began to study Italian Language, Culture and Literature more in-depth. When Dr. Donato became the George L. Graziadio Chair of Italian Studies, she hired me to be her assistant. At the time, the MA in Italian Studies did not yet exist though Dr. Donato had been working very hard on a proposal to create the program. I played a small part in assisting her during the process. She gave me the awesome responsibility of helping create the survey piece and writing its executive summary which was included in the final proposal. The MA in Italian Studies became a reality in Fall 2014 and I immediately enrolled. I was the second graduate of the program. All thanks to the extraordinary professors who mentored and encouraged me which include Dr. Clorinda Donato, Dr. Enrico Vettore, Dr. Carlo Chiarenza and Dr. Pasquale Palmieri.
2. You are Italian-American, do you have friends and family in Italy that you visit or speak with often?
I have a vast network of relatives and friends in Italy that I communicate with often and visit as often as I can. The largest of which is my mother’s side as she was the only member of her family to immigrate to the United States. My cousins and their spouses along with my three siblings have a WhatsApp group where we often talk to each other. It helps keep the family close even if far away. I also have connections to more distant relatives on my father’s side with whom I stay connected. This includes my second cousin who I have vacationed with often and whose home I stay in when I’m in Italy. While pursuing my MA in Italian Studies we had a Visiting Fulbright Scholar Dr. Pasquale Palmieri with whom I developed a friendship. I was also able to attend his wedding in Caserta, Italy in 2018.
3. You currently work at CSU Long Beach for the Economics department, what kind of work do you do there?
My title is Administrative Analyst/Specialist so I’m basically the operational manager for the department. I handle most all aspects of the administrative functions of the department. My responsibilities include fiscal spending and budgeting, faculty travel, classroom scheduling, curriculum submissions (new and updates) including catalog updates, hiring of lecturers and student employees, assisting with tenure-track faculty searches and collection and maintenance of department materials and data, to name a few. We staff members are like the spokes on a wheel that provides the support and stability for the campus to run 365 days a year.
4. What has been your fondest memory at CSU Long Beach so far (as a student or staff member)?
I have so many fond memories as both a student and a staff member. However, if I have to pick one it would be the last day of my master’s degree comprehensive exams. This was the day of the oral examination where I was interviewed by Dr. Donato and Dr. Vettore on what I had written during the two-day comprehensive exams. The oral exam had just finished and they asked me to step out in the hallway. I was so nervous and practically jumping out of my skin when another faculty member walked by and saw how anxious I appeared. This other faculty member told me not to worry and that I will be called any minute back into the room. At that moment, Dr. Vettore peered out of the room and solemnly asked me back into the room while gesturing with his finger. I apprehensively walked into the room as Dr. Donato threw her hands up and exclaimed “Congratulazioni!!” and Dr. Vettore smiled and said “Alessandro Russo virgola M.A.!” (Alessandro Russo comma M.A.). I breathed a sigh of relief and a feeling of profound pride and accomplishment came over me. I was so happy to have shared that moment with two of the professors I hold in such high regard. As I left the room all the pent up nervous energy was lifted and I was floating on cloud nine. I immediately called my family to tell them the good news.
5. What is something unique about yourself that you would like to share? My family often asks me to sing Neapolitan songs at parties, especially at weddings. My dad had always been the go-to for singing at family functions where he would belt out songs like “’O Sole Mio” or “Torna ‘a Surriento”. When my family discovered I could hold a tune like my dad, I inadvertently took his place after his passing. I’m often joined by all my cousins as I lead into “’O Sole Mio” though I prefer “’O Surdato ‘Nnammurato” or subtle ballads such as “Reginella” . I am very proud of my “napoletanità” that I have always immersed myself in the language, history, culture and traditions of my ancestors. So much so that I have involved myself in genealogy and discovered that my great grandfather Raffaele Russo was a Bersagliere (member of the Italian army infantry corps) during The Capture of Rome on September 20, 1870 that was the final event of the unification of Italy (Risorgimento) and around 1820 his grandfather Giuseppe Russo (my 3rd great-grandfather) was a royal horseman for Ferdinand II of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies. My family roots run very deep in Naples.
