If he kept repeating that to himself, maybe, just maybe, it would settle his thoughts. David figured it wasn’t possible when everything about Jay permeated his life. The comparisons. The desire to be like him. The all-consuming rage that Jay is carrying on elsewhere like nothing happened. Like what he did to Jay didn’t even register as a blip on his radar.

So maybe, it makes sense that his emotions and thoughts were unsettled. It always came back to Jay fucking White it seems.

“You ok boss?” Gabe’s voice shook David from his thoughts and he turned his attention to his boys.

“Yeah, just thinking. Nothing to worry about.�� The thoughts started to swirl a little, but he steadied himself and tried to focus on his boys, standing there staring at him. They were young but motivated, and he’d take that any day. They would prove to be useful in dealing with Bullet Club Gold or whatever nonsense Jay calls them these days. He could tell himself that he didn’t care about what Jay was calling them, but he’d be lying to himself. There were pieces of Jay intertwined in his life, whether he liked it or not.

He hated those pieces. He hated them with every fiber of his being.

So he needed to cut them out somehow. He had to destroy Jay once and for all.
