[applause]
i think it's so funny that tumblr had twitter polls for a week, created every sexy man/entity contest we could in that time, got bored with that, devolved into dadaist baking recipes and art pieces, and then swerved into creating complex mathematical experiments in order to prove laws of statistical analysis and human psychology. great work everyone, no notes

Tool a personal day today to spend it studying stats. My second exam is tomorrow morning, and I need alllllll the practice.
Oh yeah, important update to my life: I have an end date at my current job!!!!!!!! I never thought it would come but with the lab job and new financial aid coming into play I’m able to make it work so that I don’t have to work full time anymore while going to school so hallelujah praise everything I can finally see the end!!!!!
Anyway happy Wednesday friends please send good vibes for stats tomorrow.

“My path to economics was not a linear one, I would go so far as to say it was non-parametric.”
This has got to be the cheesiest personal statement intro sentence I’ve ever thought of.

I’m feeling the Big Sad™️ today. I was a statistics tutor last semester and I loved my job. I loved introducing college students to statistics, and for those who took it in high school I loved helping them reframe what they learned in a simpler, intuitive, and conceptual way.
My department dissolved all of the statistics group tutor positions, so I applied to tutor next semester for individual tutoring.
My grades in my major business classes weren’t so hot last semester, but I got A’s in both my Elementary Statistics class and my upper level Economic Statistics class. I’m a capable math student and empathetic and understand where people re coming from when people say they hate math or that the subject is confusing.
The business major GPA requirement is a 3.0 and I have a 2.9. My overall GPA is a 3.3.
I get that rules are rules but it’s very upsetting because teaching is something I love to do and excel at doing. I love introducing people to math, but my damn accounting grade last semester ruined it for me.
The best thing I can do is just hit those A’s next semester and reapply, but it still sucks that I am barred from doing the very thing that I love to do. I just need to feel it and move on because I know of course it will be okay. But all I feel right now is sadness.
