down the rabbit hole by amycarey is about emma, a book store employee, and regina, a prolific but reclusive children's author. it's sweet, and just the right amount of angst and fluff.

learning how to live by 1clevergurl is one that starts a little dark, with regina fleeing abuse. if you like hurt/comfort, look no further. bonus points for cute henry!!!

goodnight, dear void by @coalitiongirl is a must if you like rom-coms and meet cutes. it's like you've got mail had smartphones and was also gay.

Oh good lord why are you making me chooseeee 🙈 Okay, in no particular order:

@starsthatburn - when I tell you that their fics changed my life, I mean that their fics changed my life. These are the pieces that I stayed up until 3am binging (and the fics I plied my partner with for *ahem* reasons 🙈)

@misscanteloupe - "Kissing Regina Mills" was the first swanqueen fic I ever read, and to this day it is still one of my absolute favorite fics of all time. All of their fics are clever, funny, cute. Just the perfect pick me ups

@coalitiongirl - my god, the catalogue. And the quality?? Unmatched. A true blessing for the fandom, and I know for a fact that we are not worthy xx

@amycarey - the Bachelor AUs, though. The Bachelor AUs!!! (and every other perfect piece of fic that they've ever written, because they're all so creative!!)

@welshdragonrawr - the introspection and emotion in her fics, as well as the fundamental understanding of the nuance of the characters, is just flawless. And there may be a surprise coming down the pike that you all are not ready for 🙈

Would you care to weigh in on the Sub/Dom possibilities of SwanQueen?

I have seen some compelling evidence for both subby Regina and subby Emma thus far...

thank you my friend!!! time zones are funny, i’m only two hours into my first day lol but it’s going great so far!! my trainer is lovely; the doctor seems like kind of a tool but he’s leaving in a month to be replaced by the actual doctor i’m going to be working for, so i won’t have to deal with him for long.

i would LOVE to weigh in. to me, it’s very contextual to be honest. i think Dom regina/sub emma is generally more popular because of their early dynamic in the show (wicked games by starsthatburn and the wicked stepmother by seriousfic both lean into this heavy). that’s usually where i lean as well.

HOWEVER. i think there’s contexts in which regina could find herself being very subby, and i really only see that happening with emma. i think it would take a lot of trust building for her to let someone see that side of her, and that’s not something she ever really had with say graham or robin. emma is the only character we see her even consider surrendering power to. emma is a true switch, so she can Dom regina, but usually ends up subbing due to regina’s comfort levels.
