website update - J-fashion links

Once again encouraging people to add my website starsbegantofall.com to their bookmarks or rss/feed reader. I just posted a master link list of the most useful of my Japanese fashion posts over the past 8 years that had been posted first on blogspot. (By useful, I mean useful for me and my bad memory, but probably not as useful for anyone else unless they want to go down memory lane with me.)

From this point onward, any lengthy post will be posted on the domain I paid good money for, and afterwards cross-posted or linked to social media that I did not pay for but other people still use lol. So for the latest updates on my art or sewing or cosplay or whatever else I can think of, please check my site for at least monthly updates, thanks!

Completed the final cosplay off my list (for now), a Sakizo cosplay based off the Three of Spades rabbit girl from Alice's World (the tights collection). Photo was taken at Okashicon by my bff!

Of note, I'm holding a tote bag by dressy_deer with a pig drinking boba captioned "Have a little treat" because I have a treat like every day because life is that terrible. And a cute desserts bracelet from Sephora and the Museum of Ice Cream that happened to have a pink frosted donut charm. This is a cute outfit, but this dress really, really is not one I would ever wear so this dress will be unworn after this shoot. But... it's a proof of concept for that particular pattern and that's useful enough, I guess????

I don’t really post on twitter that much but I depend on it for updates for supporting small businesses and like... the weather and other news, which you cannot really get on Tumblr lmao. Well, I’ll just post on Tumblr then.

Here is the state of the union in my land. If anyone cares...

Recently I updated my portfolio website domain (www.starsbegantofall.com) in the very event that social media and web 2.0 fails (Cassandra is my middle name (no it’s not)). Please add my blog to your feed reader or bookmarks, I don’t have a newsletter yet because I don’t know how to make it work. My goal is to update at minimum twice a month, one post with the monthly artwork and one post with a general update that I felt worth archiving. I haven’t been able to migrate my other blogs and still not sure I want to, but I will also start posting on J-fashion and similar reference-heavy, image-heavy, long-form writings to my domain first, then link to it at social media sites (whenever they work).

Speaking of, I did not technically succeed in the monthly art for June lmao. I wasn’t even that busy, I was just drained from work and any bit of energy I had was reserved for cosplay for the June and July cons (not sure if I will be going to any other cons the rest of the year unless someone takes me). I just did a little sketch in a moleskin notebook at midnight because every attempt to draw on clip studio had failed previously.

Speaking of again... I posted a very long post about my Xinyan cosplay and I just finished second in progress cosplay for Okashi-con the next weekend. I’m super excited to wear it, it looks so good, even better than I could have hoped. There are a few bits I probably could redo for sturdiness but I dunno how, so it’s fine for now.  So I guess cosplay took place of drawing this month lol.

Those are the main things going on in my life right now, everything else is just work and food and sleep related, which happens when you’re over 40 years old and your body has been wrecked by capitalism and you have no hope for the future but you have to pretend you do.
