Hear me out- Ghosts have wings. They have wings, which are affected by their cores, and can make them disappear from sight if they want or need to. You got that? Good. 

Ecto-contaminated people? Don’t have wings. Liminals and Halfas, who have developed cores? Do have wings, and they can’t hide said wings, because unlike ghosts? Their bodies are physical living flesh. 

Now Gotham? Ecto-contaminated, there’s no doubt about it. The amount of portals that have been opened there and death pits and death cults… yeah it’d be surprising if it wasn’t. But again, no one really notices, because at most? Most just get a bit of eyeshine. 

The Bats however? Oh man are they freaking out when they wake up with aches in their back and feathers starting to poke through their skin. Curse? Nope! Welcome to Liminality, enjoy the second puberty of wings, emotion-sharing, fangs, claws, and whatever else you might develop- also enjoy the whole eating fear thing. (Wait, the what-)

people can get really mad if you make a post about how you think a character, who has no canonical queer identity, is gay. and they will accuse you of being biphobic (the character is not canonically bisexual) because the character has had past m/f relationships in canon and therefore they conclude that the character, if they are queer, should be bi. which is a totally fine thing to headcanon. i am not saying you can't draw that conclusion and in fact i have drawn that conclusion for many characters, because i love to have fun. however people can get really mad if you say (on a post on your blog) "i like the idea that this character's past m/f relationships are a product of compulsory heterosexuality as a part of my headcanon that this character is gay, and this all gels with larger my personal interpretation of the character". and gay (homosexual) people do in fact often have histories of being in straight relationships for various personal reasons! i'm gay and i have my own personal history before i realized i was gay! it is a totally normal and not uncommon thing. gayness is not a threat to bisexuality, much like how bisexuality is not a threat to gayness.

i think that people can often become very defensive of their own headcanons for characters they like especially when it parallels their own personal identities. but also it truly is not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things if a post crosses into your field of vision and op has a trivial headcanon that you don't agree with. headcanons, by nature of being headcanons, can often peacefully coexist. because it is just blorbos. you need to stop accusing random strangers of crazy shit on their own posts. you need to. perhaps. scroll past. and make your own post.

this image from the thancred short story is obviously just using the regular in-game models as easy dolls to add an illustration but it does make me pace around in circles bc it means that ryne got her pink ribbon from someone besides thancred. did ran'jit give it to her? why would he? did other minfilias have pink hair ribbons? does it derive from the proto-minfilia's braids? minfilia as we knew her only had her little metal hair diamond - only her shirt was pink. hydaelyn added the pink ribbons - but hydaelyn and venat's colors are white and blue. did hydaelyn give her the ribbons as a tribute to the woman minfilia once was? is the pink hair ribbon a folkloric symbol of minfilia in the first? who got this ribbon for the new caged, kenneled, suffocated-in-the-crib minfilia? was it vauthry, to decorate his "pet" (to quote the short story)? again, was it ran'jit? why? out of affection? as a memorial to the past minfilias? did he source this ribbon from eulmore's hoard of luxury goods? has every minfilia worn a ribbon from that same spool? is ryne's ribbon the same ribbon? is that ribbon approaching a century in age? when did ryne learn to put it in her hair? did ran'jit put it in for her when she was small, or was it a servant or a soldier? she has to take it out to bathe and brush her hair - has she ever lost it? did she wash it, out on the road? she must like it, to keep wearing it - is this her private memorial to her foremothers and foresisters? I NEED RIBBON LORE
