"That's really high up..."
Sunshine gulps nervously as he stares up at the first tower that stood before him, the thought of having to climb up that far into the sky sending shivers down his spine and making his stomach churn with anxiety.
"Looks easy to me, we've been way higher up than that before!"
Starlight grins at his husband, hoping to ease the other hedgehog's fears.
"Yeah, and I almost plummeted to my death one of those times!"
Sunshine retorts, thinking back to when they had stopped The ARK from crashing into the earth not long after they had first met.
"Statistically a fall from those heights would be far more likely to cause serious injury than death for individuals as durable as yourselves, the numerous weapons that make up the tower's defenses would be far more likely to kill you"
Sage pipes up in an attempt to be comforting after doing a quick scan of the huge structure to assess it's defenses.
"Thank you, Sage. That makes me feel so much better..."
Sunshine sighs and shakes his head before taking a deep breath and leaping onto the catwalk that would take them up to the top of the tower, Starlight and Sage in tow behind him. The floating platform spirals a good way up the length of the tower before abruptly cutting off into a ramp that launches the pair of hedgehogs into the air towards a series of floating cubes that were armed with cannons of some sort, which immediately locked onto them and began firing projectiles in their direction.
Sunshine curls into a ball and homing attacks each projectile that was launched his way until he reaches a platform on the other side with a large glowing button on it, with no other way to progress he presses the button and the gap between the nearest cube and the platform he stood on is closed as a new section of walkway shimmers into existence and the cannons shut off, allowing Starlight and Sage to cross over to him safely.
"Looks like the way back down will be easier than going up" Starlight notes, taking his husband by the hand as they continue to progress up the tower, facing many of the same robots that were scattered across the Starfall Islands and shutting down the tower's weapons as they go until they eventually reach the top.
"Finally...how many of these things are there again?"
Sunshine groans as they reach the ancient terminal at the top of the tower, along with a peculiar looking Koco.
"Four, according to the data I was able to gather" Sage replies as she begins to work on hacking into the terminal to completely shut down the first tower while Sunshine and Starlight talk to the Koco.
The hedgehog couple approach the small creature, only for a tall, Chaos like being to appear before them and start speaking.
"I loved my people. More than my own life. More than anything. I happily gave everything to protect our new home. You three went to extremes to protect the ones you love and to protect your home. You fight against your corruption now for their sakes. I respect that. Take my blessing and use it to defend all that you love"
The Ancient tells them with a wave of her hand, casting a bright light over them and granting them her power as the tower shuts down for good and the Koco her soul had inhabited for so long drops lifeless to the ground as her essence joins her loved ones in the cyberspace afterlife the Ancients had created for themselves.
"We should keep moving to the next tower. There's no telling how much longer we have to stop all of this"
Sage says after a moment of somber silence passes and the tower's terminal fades out.
"Right...let's go, where to next?"
Sunshine replies, searching the horizon for the shape of the next tower, quickly spotting it standing out among the surrounding forest.
"I will meet you at the next tower, the way there should be cleared of any enemies. I cannot guarantee that the tower itself will be the same though" Sage tells the two hedgehogs before disappearing.
"Well, let's get moving then"
Sunshine sighs, shaking his head to try and clear the dizzy feeling that being this high up caused him as he grabs a hold of the pulley that had appeared once the tower had been shut down, an arm wrap securely around his husband's waist while they descend the tower. He shuts his eyes and grits his teeth when that familiar nausea begins to bubble up at the back of his throat again, nearly making him gag as his feet finally hit solid ground a few seconds later.
"Are you doing okay? You seem like the corruption is affecting you more than it is for me..."
Starlight asks softly, gently squeezing Sunshine's hand with a concerned look on his face.
"I-I'm fine, heights just make me nauseous..."
Sunshine replies, slowly opening his eyes as the feeling passes and he steadies himself.
"I know, but I've noticed that it's been happening more and more the longer we stay here and the more we interact with cyberspace. I'm really worried about you, Shadow. Maybe you should sit out this next tower and take a break for a bit, Sage and I can handle it ourselves"
Starlight states as the two of them start making their way to the second tower.
"No. I'm not leaving you to bare this burden alone, we're in this together. In sickness and in health, remember? I'll be fine as long as you're with me, we can do this"
Sunshine smiles at the blue hedgehog, giving his hand a firm squeeze when they arrive at the base of the second tower. The smile fades from his face when he sees the serious look in the other's eyes, he really was worried. And that broke Sunshine's heart.
"Fine, I'll wait here this time...but once you get back down here I'm going up the next tower with you. I'm not taking no for an answer"
He says, smiling once again at his husband's relieved expression. He loved this man so much.
"Alright..." Starlight sighs and returns Sunshine's smile, reluctantly letting go of his hand before starting to head up the tower.
"Be careful and stay safe up there! I love you!"
Sunshine calls out before sitting down in the tall grass to wait for his husband to return. During the time Starlight was away Sunshine had decided to lay down in the grass while he was feeling sick again and had almost immediately fallen asleep, only to be startled awake by the low rumbling hum of the tower suddenly going quiet followed by a bright flash of light like the one they had seen while talking to the Ancient at the top of the previous tower. Starlight drops down on a pulley soon after and greets his husband with a bright grin.
"See? I told you Sage and I could handle it!"
A relieved smile crosses Sunshine's face and he gets up to hug his husband while Sage appears beside them.
"I managed to hack into the defense systems of the final two towers so we should be able to just ride the pulley to the top and speak to the last two Ancients, finally halt your corruption, and stop the incoming threat to save father!"
Sage cheerfully informs the hedgehog couple, finally beginning to express genuine emotions and understand what those feelings meant.
"And the rest of the world, right?"
Starlight smiles, endeared by the AI girl's newfound enthusiasm. Despite who her father is she was turning out to be a good kid after all.
"Whatever happens to the rest of the world is irrelevant to me as long as enough is still there for father to conquer"
Sage replies, still smiling at the two hedgehogs. Sunshine smiles back at her and holds his husband's hand, things were finally starting to turn in their favor now.
"Thanks to Sage it should all be smooth sailing from here on out. We've got this in the bag now, c'mon let's go!"
Sunshine grins and sets off towards the third tower with renewed energy at the thought of finally ending this long adventure and going home to his children, damn did he miss them. Once they had reached the tower the hedgehog noticed that Sage had indeed managed to shut down it's various defensive measures and a pulley was already waiting to take them up to the top of the massive structure.
"Great job, Sage! This makes our job so much easier!"
Starlight cheers happily and grabs hold of the pulley, an arm wrapped around Sunshine to hold him close as they're yanked up the tower.
Sunshine squeezes his eyes shut until they reach the top, his stomach still doing flips the entire way up. He sways on his feet a bit when Starlight sets him down.
"Ugh...let's get this over with already..."
He groans and takes a deep breath through his nose to try and choke back another wave of nausea before they approach the next Ancient Koco.
"I was once one of the greatest warriors among my people. I relished the chance to prove myself against the ultimate foe, but I couldn't defeat it in the end. You two however, are indeed formidable warriors. It's not just your skills. I can see that you both have unbreakable spirits. Take my blessing and earn the victory I could not!"
The Ancient speaks to the hedgehog couple, granting them his power with a wave of his hand and a now familiar flash of light.
"Ugh...only one more tower to go, right?"
Sunshine groans and opens his eyes slowly, having shut them due to the flash of light. Wasn't neutralizing the cyber corruption supposed to be making him feel better instead of worse?
"That is correct. Once you have spoken to the final Ancient and I have shut down it's tower we should finally be able to stop the oncoming threat when it arrives, assuming your friends have finished gathering the Chaos Emeralds and you do not become too ill to fight by then"
Sage replies as she finishes hacking the terminal and shutting down the current tower, quickly using said terminal to send a message to her father's eggmobile to let him know how their task was progressing and when they expected to be finished so she could return to him.
"We'll have this corruption under control by then, it'll be fine. Let's go shut down that last tower and get this all over with"
Sunshine says, casually waving off the girl's concerns so Starlight wouldn't start worrying over him again. The last thing he wanted was to be a distraction for everyone, they had more important problems to handle right now. He would be fine.
"Ready?"
Starlight asks his husband, grabbing the pulley with one hand while holding the other out for Sunshine to take.
"I hate these things...I'm ready, take us down"
Sunshine sighs as he takes Starlight's hand and steps off the tower to hold onto him so the pulley can bring them back down to the ground. The sudden lurch downwards and the feeling of falling causes another wave of nausea to slam down on the dark hedgehog, making him gasp sharply and bury his face into his husband's chest to fight off the unpleasant sensation until they finally reach the ground and he throws up onto the grass.
"S-Sorry, got dizzy again...let's go"
He groans and wipes his mouth on the sleeve of his jacket as he stumbles a bit before regaining his bearings, standing up straight, and heading off towards the final tower. Not noticing the worried looks exchanged by Starlight and Sage before they follow after him.
Sunshine arrives at the bottom of the final tower with Starlight and Sage following a moment later. Starlight holds his husband close and grabs a hold of the final pulley, giving it a light tug so they can be taken to the top of the last obstacle between them and unlocking the power needed to save the world once again. The darker hedgehog groans and squeezes his eyes shut tight as he feels that dizzying pull against gravity, nearly passing out just as they come to a sudden stop at the top of the tower.
"Ugh...please tell me that's the last time we'll have to do that...I don't think I can handle another ride like that..."
He whines softly and clutches his stomach as a dull cramp passes through him, making him even more nauseous than before. Starlight rubs his husband's back to comfort him until he was ready to stand up again, helping him up onto his feet.
"Sunny, are you sure you're feeling up to fighting? You really don't look so good...I'm worried about you. You could get seriously hurt out there if you have another dizzy spell or faint..."
The blue hedgehog frowns, a look of deep concern in his eyes as he squeezes Sunshine's hand. His brows bunched together with worry when he feels his partner's hand trembling in his own.
"I-It's fine, I'm fine...let's just get this over with so we can be rid of this damn corruption and feel like ourselves again"
Sunshine grumbles and pulls away to approach the last Koco and receive their blessing, stumbling a bit before quickly catching himself and standing before the ancient being.
"So, you wish to do as I once did? Stand before our deadliest foe's unthinkable might and attempt to save this world?"
The Ancient speaks, receiving a nod in reply from both hedgehogs. The couple now standing together hand in hand as the creature addresses them.
"You have freed my dearest friends from their Titan shells, and for that you have my deepest thanks. I however, was lost. What you see now is the last memory of me before we flew into battle together. I've been wondering how things ended for them after I sacrificed myself and my Titan for them. Now I know. Take my blessing, and with it my thanks and hopes. You two are this world's heroes now"
He explains, waving his hands and casting an all too familiar white light over the hedgehogs before his Koco goes still and his soul is finally put to rest.
Sunshine gasps and shuts his eyes as his vision blurs and his head feels like it's spinning, causing him to lean against Starlight, who sighs in relief and grins as he feels like a weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
"It worked! I finally feel like my old self again! How are you doing, Sunny?"
Starlight turns to his husband with a grin, only to see a smile on the half Mobian's flushed face.
"Fantastic! It's good to feel like me again"
Sunshine says, his voice slightly more raspy than normal as he hugs the blue hedgehog close to hide how much pain he was actually in. It felt like removing the corruption only made him feel worse instead of helping him feel better.
"Excellent! Now we must go to the one who can forge that energy into a new power"
Sage informs the pair, using this tower's terminal to send another update to Eggman as a powerful roar cuts through the air.
"No time to lose"
Starlight states grimly, earning a nod from Sunshine as Sage shuts down the tower and activates one last pulley to lower them back to the ground below.
"Not again...I think I'd rather take my chances jumping down instead"
Sunshine mumbles miserably as he takes hold of the pulley this time, offering a hand to his life partner before they're both sent whizzing towards the ground at great speeds. Normally a drop like this would be nothing to Sunshine, but now it felt like something had knocked the wind out of his lungs. His legs shake slightly when the pair finally make contact with solid earth.
"Follow me, quickly. Father has informed me of the location of the Koco's leader, the final Ancient we must speak with to grant you both the necessary power required to end this tiresome adventure"
Sage says before quickly darting off towards the pyramid like structure at the center of the island. The two hedgehogs exchange a nod before following the artificial child.
"I wonder how are friends are doing at finding the emeralds"
Starlight wonders aloud, glancing around to try and spot any of them as they approach the pyramid.
"I bet they're having an easier go of it than we have been so far, I'm sure they've got it all wrapped up by now"
Sunshine replies with a small smile as they arrive at the base of the pyramid, whose previously sealed door now stood open and waiting for the trio to step inside.
"The Master King Koco is in there, just head straight down the corridor until you find his throne chamber. I cannot enter with you so I will wait here and check in with Father so he can update us on how retrieving the emeralds is going"
Sage points towards the deep hallway that seemed to stretch on forever into the depths of the pyramid.
"Right. Enter spooky pyramid, talk to really old and powerful guy. Got it!"
Starlight beams enthusiastically as he scoops up Sunshine bridal style and dashes inside the pyramid's door before it slams shut behind them, earning a surprised yelp from the blue eyed hedgehog in his arms. It doesn't take long for them to reach the throne at the end of the tunnel, a large Koco with a mossy beard sat upon the throne ready to greet them when they approach.
"Welcome, heroes"
The Koco speaks, a projection of his original form barley visible behind him.
"Our friend says that you're the one who can turn the cyber corruption into new power, is that right?"
Sunshine asks, cutting straight to the point so they can settle things as quickly as possible.
"That is correct. I was the mighty leader of my once proud people. I lead them away from their doom and oversaw the colonization of this planet that was to be our new home. I directed the installation of cyberspace. I ordered the construction of the Titans. I have been the guiding voice of my people for far longer than you can even begin to comprehend!"
The Ancient king speaks, gazing down at the Mobians that knelt at his massive stone throne.
"And now you're a cute little mossy rock dude"
Sunshine snickers, unable to imagine the Chao like creature as a powerful leader.
"You two remind me of another that I once knew long ago. They gave everything to stave off the end and protect our people. Step forward and I shall grant you the power to achieve where we have failed, I must warn you though. This power is a fragile thing, you must not use it recklessly or else it may leave you entirely with no way to harness it ever again. I can feel that the enemy's approach is nigh. Go. You have been given all we have to give. I can do nothing more for my people so I entrust the rest to you. Do not fail"
The King warns as cybernetic sparks swirl around the hedgehog couple, enveloping them entirely before quickly fading away to reveal that they were now standing back outside of the pyramid.
"Where you two successful?"
Sage questions, her eyes flickering between blue and red as she hovers in front of them.
"Naturally! Was there ever any doubt?"
Starlight boasts, earning a chuckle and a jab in the side from Sunshine as Sage rushes off towards the Eggmobile that was now parked a short distance away with Tails, Amy, and Knuckles waiting alongside the evil genius himself, each of them holding onto the seven Chaos Emeralds.
"You guys are the best! That includes you this time too, doctor"
Sunshine smiles, his ears folding back against his head for a moment as yet another cramp and wave of nausea passes through his body. Their reunion is cut short as a deafening roar rumbles across the sky, shaking the ground beneath them.
"We're out of time. I command that you save us! That's a direct order, rodents!"
Eggman snaps in a panic, causing Sage to giggle despite the dire situation they were all in.
Blue eyes meet green as the couple nod in silent agreement to see this fight through together to the end, taking each other's hands as the emeralds float around them and they both turn Super in an instant. With one last wave and thanks to their friends and sworn enemy, the hedgehogs fly off towards a new Titan as it claws it's way out of the ground and an eerie purple moon looms unnaturally low over head.
This is it. The end was just beginning.

𝑻he night, it was always a fascinating atmosphere on Gaia. A planet known to be full of pure cosmic energy, crystal woodlands, caves and beautiful nature. The sun would set. . . bringing out the stars and the stunning two moons that rose above the long deceased volcanos horizon which was now a crystal cavern with a pool of water and the sounds of a waterfall seeping within its core.
A young entity wandered the grassy grounds, leaving a tower of crystal and rock. She was a white blonde with a stunning white dress patterned with glitter like starlights, the Sorceress of Gaia aka Zecora. As the young looking lady would approach the edge of a cliff side that matched the blue sands of the beaches she would take a breath with her blue eyes closed.
" The constellation is coming. . . I must prepare for the falling crown star. "
As soon as the words slipped from her soft peach lips she opened her eyes and the sky showered with shooting stars, comets and meteors. . . until the Northern Star constellation was struck and its crown fell towards the planet. The Magic could begin,, with both hands Zecora let out a blast of white pure energy as time slowed down in her space. . . the sound of muffled crystal and chants surrounding her as she reached out her hands into the night sky, only to retrieve the stunning light blue and purple crown crystal that had just fallen to the planet with ease.
She examined it with her eyes and looked upon the large shard, only to shatter it in three pieces. They all hovered around her as she observed them, stating the following.
" With these shards broken in three, the shard of creation. . . "
She would point to the brightest and strongest, then move to the next one which was more green and red.
" The shard of chaos. . . and finally. . "
As she reached the last one which was a stunning white, she smiled softly to herself as she spoke these words.
" The shard of unity. . shattered in three to protect the universe and this world from any and all threats seeking destruction, I shall chant and create something so beautiful, something. . . pure with a calming aura, the personality of my ancestors and never cease. "
Her hands rose up to the sky as all three Shards lifted and spun in unity. . . creating stardust in the image of a hedgehog, a female hedgehog. However it was only faint, like a ghost of stardust as it hovered over the sorceress with her eyes fixed on her.
" Now all she needs is a little. . . life, energy and balance. "
The shard of creation shifted from the two other crystals in the air and impacted the stardust figure of the hedgehog causing an extreme bright white light for a few moments. The sorceress squinting as she looked away for just a second, looking back as the other two shards fell to the ground and time resumed. The shard of creation within the core of this beautiful creature as she laid unconscious on the grassy ground leaving growing specs of stardust around her. The fur was cosmic blue, her quills had stripes of purple and stardust infused in them. A star on her right ear, starry yet fluffy chest fur and tan peach skin down underneath. The tail was fluffed out with a hint of purple and stardust and her paws each had white fur going up to the wrists and her ankles, yet adorable looking paw pads. As for the eyes. . .
Zecora looking down at the creature, a smile on her lips as the female hedgehog would flutter them open and slowly look up to the sorceress with confusion and grogginess like shed just woken up from an infinite sleep into a new world. A stunning amethyst purple.
" Welcome to the world, Starlight. "

Hunting the Missing Link
Story Summary: When a mysterious individual crash-lands in the sleepy town of Starlight Edge, four unassuming individuals begin on a journey to find its origins, kickstarting a chain of events that would alter thier lives forever.
Chapter Summary: When Emily gets a new car, she takes them for a road trip to all thier favorite places, as a start to the most interesting day in the rest of thier lives.
[Next]
Story under the cut.
Just a few hours drive west from Empire City lies a small, sleepy town by the name of Starlight Edge, with a population in the low ten-thousands. Though small, the town is quite a hotspot for tourism due to the Starlight’s Edge of which the town is named after - a massive 100-foot cliff overlooking a series of 16 waterfalls flowing into a deep lake, known by the residents as Lake Selene.
A few miles away from Starlight Edge, on a street leading in from the town, lie 4 houses in a cul-de-sac, though only one has a vehicle parked outside - a yellow sports bike. Inside this house, a young hyena woman is tinkering with something while the 8am news plays in the background.
“In global news, Sonic the Hedgehog appears to have stopped the evil Doctor Robotnik yet again in the outskirts of Metropolis Zone,” reports the newscaster. “Sources say the Doctor, quote, ‘Didn't put up much of a fight.’”
“Why does this idiot keep trying these stunts!?” shouts the hyena to an audience of none. “By this point he should KNOW it’s not gonna work!”
Dressed in black with the proper safety equipment, the hyena is hard at work; soldering electronics together with a tutorial on her phone. Electronics lay all over her “garage”, from busted CD players, to old computer motherboards, to failed projects, parts and tools litter the place like they’re a rare commodity. Outside her work space, her living space isn’t much better, with clothes scattered all across her furniture, mainly centered around a single chair in the back corner.
Next to her TV is a slew of various SEGA video game consoles - Genesis, Saturn, and even Dreamcast - and next to those is a shelf full of video games, all of them about Sonic the Hedgehog. From the first one on Genesis to the last one on Dreamcast, she has them all. She even has the ones released after that, but those are on her PC, which lay just next to the shelf of video games.
With one final solder, the hyena raises her safety goggles to her forehead, eager to test out her contraption, when she hears a knock at the door. Steadily, she removes her safety gear, attaches her contraption to her wrists, and begins preparing herself.
This perky young hyena girl has big dreams, big ambitions, and a surprisingly ample bosom. Her fur is a creamy tan, like a warm latte, contrasting well with her clothes dark as night, much like the markings dotting her fur. She wore a light, yet tight black tank top with a cute yellow star adorned on its front, a black-and-purple tartan skirt with a purple waistband, some tight black sport shorts, purple combat boots that go up to her knees, and a crop top leather jacket with pins of some of her favorite musical acts - Neck Deep, State Champs, and All Time Low. Her eyes were a much darker shade of brown than her fur, much more akin to the trunk of an old and world weary oak tree. The contraptions she placed around her wrists were gold ring bracelets. Upon her hands, she also wore fingerless gloves, revealing the black tips of her fingers; and also had small purple glasses, which she wore on her nose. As for the girl’s name? It was-
“Stella!” barked a deep female voice from beyond the door. “You ready yet? I got something to show you!”
“Just a minute, Emily!” Stella yelled in response. Quickly turning off the TV, she rushed out the front door, eagerly awaiting what the day may bring.
“There you are, slowpoke!” said Emily. “What took you so long?”
“Sorry! I was fixing up my Light Bracelets.” Stella replied. “Why’d you call me out, exactly?”
“Come on! I got something to show you!” exclaimed Emily, clearly excited; which was rare for the porcupine, as she mostly stayed to herself. Her quills were a deep maroon, like autumn leaves, with her pupils a fiery red. She wore indigo boots with white stripes on them, jean shorts, and a pink tube tank top, with an indigo vest overtop. She was also one of the few members of this group to wear eyeshadow, hers being a striking lavender in color. She also had white gloves with spikes on them, as well as spiked bracelets around her wrists.
Emily took Stella two houses down, where a rounded object covered in abstract haphazard D.I.Y. canvas rest just out front, where it didn't just an hour ago.
"What's this?" questioned Stella, knowing full well what might be under the sheet, but feigning ignorance for pleasantries.
“Can’t say right now,” replied Emily. “Gotta wait for Lyla and Vicki first.”
Emily looked around.
“...Hey, where are Lyla and Vicki?”
Just then they noticed two figures racing down the street, one of them hovering just above the ground. As the figures got closer, Stella and Emily noticed it as a cheetah and a crow, rapidly approaching. As they got even closer, the cheetah slid to a stop just in front of the others, while the crow flew face first into a telephone pole. Everyone winced.
"Ooh, you okay, Vicki?" asked a concerned Stella.
"I- I'm fine!" said the timid crow, holding her head, dizzy. "Just a small bump, is all."
"I'll trust you on that, Victoria." Stella then replied.
Victoria is a shy, mild-mannered crow. Shorter than the rest, she wore a pristine white dress overtop her black feathers, though now its formerly spotless appearance has taken on dirt, grime, and a small bit of snow from the wintery ground. She doesn't seem to notice, or care, though. She's spacey - appropriately keeping her head in the clouds and rarely focusing on the situations at hand. Her hair feathers are always frazzled, despite her keeping them in a ponytail, and her boots are as black as her feathers, making them almost invisible unless you're focused on them. She also wore, on a chain around her neck, a small yellow heart-shaped gemstone, burning with a small flame to match, kept inside a small iron cage. Supposedly, in the time she’s owned it, Vicki has never seen the flame go out.
"Probably shoulda warned ya about the pole, Vic. Sorry!" Said the cheetah in an oddly chipper tone.
"Yeah, maybe you should have, Lyla. She could have gotten seriously hurt!" Stella yelled
"Don't yell at her, Stella! I'm fine!" said Vicki in response.
Lyla is an upbeat, chipper cheetah with a heart of gold and balls of steel, despite being a girl. She will charge into any situation and will not stop until she either saves the day, or gets so hurt she has to retreat. She's impulsive, sporty, and VERY friendly, but has a fear of heights. She's also somewhat inattentive, often not realizing the true gravity of a situation. She wears a navy blue sports bra and sport shorts, as well as sneakers in the same color. Her short, manic hair is a rich, creamy brown, that falls overtop the rest of her bright yellow fur, and her eyes are a deep, rich blue that almost pierces into your very soul. She smiled, rubbing the back of her head in a bashful manner.
"You know I worry about you, Vicki," Stella said. "I just don't want you to-"
"I get it, mom. You don't have to lecture me, I'm fine," replied Vicki in response.
"Now's not the time for arguing, you three!" exclaimed Emily. "We can worry about this later - I have something to show you all."
"I take it it's underneath that car-shaped cloth?" Stella pointed.
"I told you not to peek, you jerk," Emily teased.
"Oh yeah, sure, I'll just NOT look at the biggest thing on the street right now. Sure. That sounds reasonable." Stella jokingly replied.
"Alright, I get it!" Emily jeered. "You've made your point."
"Alright, so what's under the cloth? Better be something good," Stella asked. "If I find out you bought a damn mom car, I'm going to be most displeased-"
"Don't worry, princess," Emily teased, "I know your taste in cars is very exquisite."
"It's a symbol of EXPRESSION!" Stella yelled.
"So you've told me a thousand times," Emily responded, rolling her eyes so hard they could drive down the mile street to Starlight Edge and back. "Don't worry - I picked out my favorite. And it should be one you'd enjoy."
Emily grabbed the cloth, said "I present to you:", and yanked it off with force, revealing a red Mitsubishi Eclipse sedan, with a vanity plate reading "VELS"
"VELS?" questioned Stella.
"It's our initials," responded Emily. "Vicki, Emily, Lyla, Stella. V, E, L, S."
"Chaos, why didn't I pick a name with a better initial?" joshed Stella, snickering. "Like Andromeda, or Aurora?"
"Oh yeah, because 'VEAL' is SO much better-" Emily teased.
"At least it's a real word!" yelled Stella in response.
"Whatever," brushed Emily. "So, you guys wanna go to the shops, and take this puppy for a spin?" She said, twirling a keychain on her index finger.
"YEAH!" Lyla, Stella, and Vicki all cheered in unison.
"Great! Let's go!" Emily exclaimed, excited.
Emily hit a button on her keychain revealing possibly the coolest thing about her new car - It was a convertible.
Everyone's eyes lit up brighter than the moon.
"Wait," Stella puzzled, "would putting the top down really be a good idea? It's January."
"Well, it's not snowing right now, is it?" Emily responded.
"Hmm, fair enough."
They all jumped into seats - Emily took the driver's side, as she's the only one legally allowed to drive; Stella took the passenger's side; Lyla sat behind Emily; and Vicki sat behind Stella. With everyone seated, Emily put the key in the ignition, turned it, and sped off down Parker Street into Starlight Edge.
It was a cold January day in Starlight Edge - the town had just been hit with 6 inches of snow just a few days before, and the town itself lit up brighter than ever before with the reflective snow on the ground. The small town adores its winters, having wonderful celebrations with each one. Just in from Parker St. is the shopping district, starting with Saturn Blvd., the biggest street in shopping in Starlight Edge by far, with stores, fast food restaurants, and even the Hogpine Mall, still kicking despite the decline in malls all over the world. Stella likes dropping in from time to time to pick up a CD or 2. After the shopping district is the residential district, where the citizens of Starlight Edge, well, reside. There's a few small shops in here - small mom and pop shops, convenience stores, bars, and some more fast food joints, but most of the space is taken up by housing. And just beyond the residential district is where the tourism takes charge - on the far East edge of town lies a renowned observatory, public pools, springs, parks, forms of entertainment like sporting fields, amusement parks and arcades, and beyond even ALL OF THAT lies the ever famous Starlight's Edge. Though that's MILES away from the town for the safety of its citizens, of course.
As the red Mitsubishi Eclipse pulls into town, the question arises among its passengers: Where to first?
"First things first, I should REALLY pick up Vimu," Stella said first. "I wanna have him with me, and make sure he's okay!"
"Then I wanna go to the bar!" Vicki yelled.
"Are you even old enough to drink?" Lyla asked, half joking.
"Oh, I'm not interested in alcohol!" Vicki responded. "I wanna swindle some suckers at darts and billiards! It'll be fun!"
"After that I wanna go to RCS Field on the East End," said Lyla. "My 1200 meter record is 25:58, and I wanna see if I can beat it!"
"Good luck with that!" scoffed Emily. "The only person who can run 1200 meters faster than 25 seconds is Sonic himself!"
"You don't know that!" yelled Lyla in response.
"Okay, but before you do that, I wanna buy CDs at the Hogpine Mall!" Stella butted in. "RCS Field is on the other side of town! It'd be a long drive there and back!"
"Stella, it'd be far quicker to get your CDs on the way back," Emily said. "If we're going to the far side of town anyways, better to get it out of the way as early as possible."
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Stella said. "After, then."
"And then after all that we can get some fast food and go home," said Emily. "Sound good to you guys?
The car said "Yeah!" in unison.
"Great, then that's our day. Hope you're all ready!"
"I know I am!" said Stella.
"In it to win it!" said Lyla.
"I'm ready!" Vicki chimed in.
And with that, thier day had truly begun.
- - -
Thier first destination was Clysedale Care Clinic on Stellar St., the street Stella got her name from. The clinic takes care of all manner of creatures, from Chao, to Wisp. They're very trustworthy, with plenty of glowing reviews, which is why Stella has enlisted thier services for a while now.
Emily pulls the Eclipse up front, and Stella gets out.
"Wait here, guys," Stella said. "I'll go in alone."
She walked in the door, and the bell rang to signal her presence. Upon walking up to the counter, she was greeted by one of the Clysedale siblings - Ezrieal.
"Welcome to Clysedale Care Clinic!" They say in that customer service tone. "What can I do for you today?"
"Hi, Ez!" says Stella. "Is Theo in today? I'm here to pick up Vimu."
"Ah, of course! Let me call them out!" Ez says, before disappearing into the back. After a few seconds of muffled shouting Stella couldn't understand, a tall figure emerged from the back. They had glasses and brown hair, and just kind of looked tired all the time. His eyes quickly looked to Stella, seeming to know exactly what she was thinking.
"You're here to pick up your Chao, yes?" They said in a sleepy tone.
"Y- Yes, sir." Stella stammered, slightly intimidated. Dr. Theo always gave her a weird feeling.
"Let me get him for you then," He replied, disappearing into the back.
After a few seconds, they re-emerged with a white robotic chao with a screen for a face.
"Vimu!" Stella shouted, and gave him a big hug. "Oh, I'm glad to see you're okay!" Vimu made a cute little chime in response.
"Your Chao was a tad bit… unorthodox for us," Dr. Theo said, "But he appears to be perfectly healthy. No slowdown, no clutter, no viruses. One of the healthiest we've ever seen."
"Thank you for your services, Dr. Theo!" Stella exclaimed. "How much do I owe you?"
"The standard fee, my dear," Dr. Theo replied. "30 Rings an hour."
She paid the fee - 2,160 Rings. The price was steep, but it was her own fault for not coming to get her Chao sooner.
Theo did some counting, gave a satisfactory nod, and put the rings in the register on the front desk. "Once again, it has been a pleasure doing business with you, Miss Stella."
"I'm just glad the work you do here is so sublime!" Stella said. "Thank you!"
"Any time, my dear. Do come back if you require our services again."
"Of course! You guys are the best in town! Have a good day!"
"You too, Miss Stella."
With Vimu in hand, Stella walked out of the clinic, and got back into the car. Lyla and Vicki immediately greeted Vimu with pets and treats.
"Weird group of folks, those guys," Emily made an off-handed remark.
"Yeah, but they do good work, though," Stella replied. "They're not hurting anyone, so I don't judge."
"They've got some odd vibes about them, though," Emily said.
"Oh, I'm sure it's nothing, Emily," Stella assured as Emily pulled out from the clinic and got back on the road. "Where to next?"
"Mighty Bar & Grill," Emily said. "Vicki's request."
Vicki pumped her fist in response.
That would take a trip to the residential district, which, like most things in this town, was relatively uneventful. After arriving at Mighty Bar & Grill, on the corner of Calmac St. and Griffith Rd., the band of four went in. Lyla, Stella, and Emily sat at the bar - Vicki had other plans.
"Don't you think it's a bit early to get sloshed, ladies?" the barkeep, a British mouse with the nametag Carrie queried.
"We're not here for alcohol," Emily responded. "These 2 are underage, and I'm driving these idiots."
"What? I'm 21!" Stella interjected. "I just personally abstain."
"Fair enough," replied Carrie, pulling out a glass. "What'll it be?"
"You got any sports drinks?" said Lyla.
"I'll take a sparkling water," said Stella.
"Orange juice for me," said Emily.
"Very well," Carrie responded. "It should be ready in a few minutes. In the meantime, have some fun!"
Which is what Vicki was already in the process of doing. She was haggling as many patrons as you could ask for at 10 in the morning to play her at various games, claiming she could beat them with her eyes closed. She'd even take bets - sometimes up to 500 Rings! Her strategy was foolproof - deliberately missing the first few shots, but then cleaning house after turn 3 or so. Darts was easy - with a steady aim, and enough precision, she could hit the bullseye or triple 20 every time. Pool was a bit more difficult, requiring a bit more skill to be able to handily win without sight. But Vicki's been at this for years - she's studied the slight variances in every pool ball, being able to pinpoint each ball without even knowing what color they are. Sure, for every 5 wins at pool, she had at least one loss. But that was the thrill of the game to her.
After getting thier drinks, Stella, Lyla, and Emily all went off to do thier own separate things. Stella perused the various arcade games at the bar, playing Sega classics like Hang-On, and House of the Dead with Lyla joining in. And when she wasn't playing with Stella, Lyla was indulging in some of the other games at the bar, namely the basketball hoop. She missed nearly all her shots, but she had fun at least. Emily, however, just sat at the bar, drinking her orange juice and scrolling social media on her phone. She didn't want to get too involved into anything, because she had to drive these dorks across town when this was over.
By noon, Stella and Lyla had gotten bored of the activities, and Vicki was finishing up her escapades, beating some poor sucker at Darts 501 for the fifth time in a row. He wasn't even drunk.
"Come ON!" he said, agitated. "There's no WAY this is legit! You HAVE to be cheating!"
"Maybe it's just a skill issue, Charles," Vicki said to the patron, spinning a dart on her finger. "I'll be taking those 50 Rings you wagered now."
"NOT till I have proof you ain't cheatin'!" Charles yelled in response.
"Forget it, man!" another patron yelled from across the bar. "She's legit. Just give her the money."
Charles, reluctantly, reached into his pockets and gave Vicki 50 Rings.
"Thanks for being such a good sport, Charlie," Vicki said smugly. Charles just glared in response.
"Yo, Vic!" Lyla said to her. "You almost finished yet? We've been here almost 2 hours now!"
"Yeah, I'm done," replied Vicki. "Let's go, then! Don't keep me waiting, slowpokes!"
As they went to leave the bar and reenter the car, they had a small conversation.
"What's got you so cocky?" Stella asked.
"Feeling like I'm on top of the world with all those victories!" Vicki responded.
Vicki accidentally walked into the door on her way out, causing the rest of the group to wince, though Stella winced the hardest.
As they got out of the bar, Stella asked Vicki "You okay?"
"I'm fine!" Vicki retorted. "That was all part of my scheme, anyways…"
"So how much did you make out with this time?" Emily inquisited.
"Meh, only around 850," Vicki responded, disappointed. "We gotta come back here after 8pm when everyone's sloshed - I'll make out with plenty for sure!"
Vicki giggled to herself, and everyone else smiled and joined in, laughing and giggling all the way to the car, where they then headed to RCS Field on the East side of town.
RCS Field was a hybrid football and track field, where the local football teams regularly practiced. While physically large, the field itself drew few visitors, namely due to the small size of the town, and the fact that the only games that really took place here were local anyways.
Lyla didn't really care much about the local football team - she was banned for being too violent as a kid anyways. What she cared most about was the track.
Olympic sized at 400 total meters around, Lyla practices her speed here many times a month to ensure she's in top shape, still trying to beat her best time - A little over 25 seconds for 3 laps around. She's tied it 3 times since she set it, but never passed it. She's hoping today she can break it wide open, though at this point, even a millisecond faster would be enough for her.
The track was in pretty good shape, as the architects had the foresight to put a glass roof overtop the field, so that the players would be unaffected by the weather, though Lyla did have to brush a small bit of snow off the track, as it had started snowing by this point in the day..
Lyla lined up at the starting area, with Stella on stopwatch duty, and Emily and Vicki on the sidelines for moral support. Stella was just glad she wasn't the one running.
"What are you gonna do when you beat it?" asked Stella. "You'd need some kind of a celebration."
"Think I might load up on lasagna and pig out for a bit." Lyla replied. "But that's IF it's possible."
"Alrighty then," Stella said. "Ready?"
"As I'll ever be."
"GO!" Stella shouted as she started the timer. And with that, Lyla was off to the races, literally. She had a bit of a rough start, as she typically does, but after a few minutes, she put her arms at her sides with her fists in front, and ran as fast as she could, completing 3 laps in 31 seconds.
Lyla was a bit upset, but she didn’t let it get to her - her first run wasn’t going to beat her record anyways. So she lined back up at the start, and ran the track again, and again, and again, over and over, slowly but surely closing the gap. 30 seconds. Then 29. 28 seconds. 27…
While Lyla was running, Stella began shivering. It was the middle of winter, and the thickest jacket she packed was a leather jacket that didn’t even fully cover her torso.
“Brrr! Is anyone else feeling a bit chilly?” She said to the rest of the group. Vimu huddled up next to her to try and warm her up.
“Maybe you should have packed for the weather, then,” Emily said, pulling out a puffy jacket.
“I don’t feel cold!” shouted Vicki.
“Here, take this then.” Emily threw a wool blanket at Stella. Stella nodded as thanks.
Lyla kept running, over and over running 3 laps around the track, closing the gap ever further, down to a 26:01, then 25:98.
“Just a little bit more!” Lyla exclaimed. “I think I can do this!”
Lyla lined back up at the start, determined to run as fast as she ever had. Stella yelled “Go!”, and Lyla was off, running at speeds she hadn't reached before. However, halfway through her second lap, she tripped on her feet, falling to the ground. However, making a miraculous recovery, she rolled into a ball, got back up, and finished the rest of her laps, finishing with a final time of…
“25:5…9.” Stella read off the stopwatch.
“59!?” yelled Lyla. “I tripped and fell, and was able to miss my record by a single millisecond!?”
“Well, this rounds up to 2 places, and milliseconds are counted in thousandths,” replied Stella, “So it could be anywhere from 1 to 10 milliseconds.”
“So? I missed my record by 10 milliseconds! By tripping and falling!” Lyla screamed. “Can I get a redo on that? Please?”
“Sorry,” Emily butted in. “You’re out of time for today. It’s 3 pm - The sun’s almost setting.”
“Damn it!” Lyla yelled. “But I’m coming back to tackle this tomorrow! I know I can do it!”
“Yeah, but we have other things to do today,” Emily replied. “Sorry.”
Everyone slowly walked back to the car, Lyla upset, but regaining her composure shortly after. Getting back in the car, they realized it was snowing harder than before. Not snowstorm levels, but definitely more than the light sprinkle of earlier in the day.
Emily drove the car back to the west side of town, but stopped at a grocery store instead of the Hogpine Mall.
“You didn’t clear this destination by us beforehand,” Stella said. “We cleared our destinations with you.”
“I know,” said Emily. “I just need to pick up a few things real quick. I’ll only be a second, I promise.”
And with that, she got out of the car and went inside. Stella, Lyla, and Vicki were left in the car to do whatever they wanted, though for some reason, Emily left the top down on the car. After 20 minutes, Emily still wasn’t back yet, so everyone was just doing their own thing. Lyla was playing a Game Boy Advance, Vicki was reading a book, and Stella was listening to music. Suddenly though, something caught Stella’s eye - someone shivering in a back alley. With the snow, Stella knew they wouldn’t last long out here, and considering the person was shivering in an alley, they likely didn’t have any place to go. Stella looked around for some way she could help, and noticed a taco truck on the other side of the street. After quickly instructing Vimu to stay put, Stella began to hop over the car door, when Lyla took notice of her.
“Where are you going?” she questioned.
“I’m just going to do something real quick,” Stella responded. “I’ll be right back.”
And with that, she hopped out of the car, and ran to the taco truck.
“Ahh, if it isn’t my favorite customer!” the truck owner said to her. “How many will it be, Stella?”
“Five, please, Donnie!” Stella replied.
“And I take it 3 more for your friends?” Donnie joked.
“No, just 5,” Stella said with a giggle.
“Coming right up!” Donnie said. “They’ll be done in just a minute, so don’t go anywhere!”
“OK!” Stella responded. In the wait she was able to get a longer look at the stranger in the alleyway - They appeared to be a female wolf with black, matted fur. She was covered in dirt and snow, and shivering from the cold. Her clothes; a red flannel, black jean shorts and combat boots, and white fingerless gloves, were tattered and torn, not nearly in enough shape to survive the winter. She had a gray muzzle and yellow eyes, and looked clearly distraught, almost on the verge of tears. Stella felt really bad for this woman.
“OK, kiddo!” Donnie said, startling Stella. “Here’s your tacos!”
“I’m, uh, still 21 years old, but thank you!” she said in response.
“Just because you’re 21 doesn’t mean you’re not a ‘kiddo’, kiddo,” responded Donnie. “25 rings please!”
Stella paid the 25 rings, and proceeded to move to the other side of the street, slowly. Lyla caught a glimpse of Stella, and noticed her going into the alleyway.
What are you doing, Stella? Lyla thought to herself.
Stella approached the mystery girl slowly, so as not to startle her. She was whimpering, rubbing her hands together next to a small fire for warmth. As Stella got close enough to the girl, she began to take notice of her, at which point Stella outstretched her hand and offered a taco.
“Here,” Stella said. “Take this.”
The girl did not. Instead she growled, bit Stella’s hand, and sprinted away on all fours, behind the store and out of sight of Stella.
Weird girl, Stella thought to herself, as she walked back to the car.
“So what happened?” Lyla asked Stella as she hopped back into the Eclipse.
“Not much,” Stella lied. “I bought tacos though!”
“Sick!” Lyla responded.
“Your hand!” Vicki pointed out, noticing the bite mark. “What happened?”
“I saw a homeless girl in the alley, and offered her a taco, but she bit me and ran away,” Stella answered.
“You gotta be more careful around strange girls, Stella,” Emily responded, exiting the store. “Is it infected? Do I need to take you to the hospital?”
“I’ll probably be fine,” Stella responded. “Just gotta wash it and bandage it.”
“Nuh-uh. Not good enough for me,” Emily responded. “I’m taking you to the hospital.”
“Alright, fine,” Stella responded. “I bought you a taco!”
“Sick” Emily said as she took it, and began the drive to the hospital.
- - -
“See, Em? I’m fine!” Stella said as they left the hospital on the east side of the residential district It was just about sunset now after everything that had happened throughout the day.
“Better to know for sure than to assume,” Emily retorted.
“But I’m going to be fine,” Stella said, pointing finger guns at Emily with her newly bandaged hand.
“Be more careful next time,” Emily scolded with a sigh.
“Whatever,” Stella says in response. Vimu made a happy noise.
Emily looked up into the sky. “It’s getting late,” She said.
“Maybe we should be heading home?” Vicki added.
“Good idea! My legs could use a break from all this walking!” Lyla chimed in, stretching.
“Were we out all day?” Stella questioned. “Maybe we should make tomorrow a bit more low-key.”
“Good idea, ladies,” Emily chimed, pulling her car keys from her pocket, pleasant with how the day went on. “Get in. Let’s go home.”
The drive home was less talkative and less chaotic than the rest of the day had been. Everyone was mostly just talking about some of the things that happened today, and new interests of thiers - but softly so as not to disturb Vicki, who had fallen asleep in the back seat. Suddenly, the topic turned to sports, and Stella tuned out, looking out the side of the convertible car that still had its top down. She began looking at her bandaged up hand in the fading sunlight, and for a brief second thought she caught a faint glimpse of the mystery girl again, but when she turned to look again, the girl was gone, almost as if she was never there.
“You okay, Stel’?” Emily asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Stella sheepishly said in response. “Must be a bit tired, is all.”
“I feel you there,” said Emily.
By the time they had arrived home, the sun had fully set. Checking her phone, Stella noticed it was 5pm, which made sense, as it was late January. Everyone had gotten out of the car, and was about to head inside and turn in for the night, when Stella looked up and noticed something.
A meteor shower! Here! The Starlight’s Edge would probably be a better place to view it, but nobody wanted to miss a single second. Light shows like this were a rare occurrence, especially meteor showers and shooting stars! Everyone began “ooh”ing and “ahh”ing at the pretty lights and colors, and quickly began pointing out pretty stars. Stella even pulled out her telescope, The Constellation as she called it, to get a better view.
“I like that one!” Lyla said, pointing to a star that was shooting especially fast.
“That one’s very pretty!” Stella said, pointing at one of the brighter stars in the sky.
“I think that one’s pretty cool,” Emily said pointing at a large star.
“That one’s not even moving!” Stella responded.
“Should we wake Vicki up?” Lyla inquired.
“No, let her sleep,” Stella replied.
“Uh, guys?” Emily asked, slightly concerned and pointing at a particularly large star.
“Yeah, we get it, Em. You like the large one,” retorted Lyla.
“No, I think she’s onto something,” Stella said, now worried. “Is it getting bigger?”
“Hit the deck!” Emily yelled, causing everyone to scatter into different directions. Which was a good call, as the “star crash landed in front of the Eclipse, tearing open the pavement and waking Vicki with the noise.
“What’s going on?” Vicki slurred, bleary eyed.
“We don’t know!” Stella yelled.
“Stay calm, Stella!” Emily commanded.
“Looks like… a person?” Lyla noticed.
To which she appeared to be right - as what has just crashed into the pavement is no ordinary debris or meteor. Sure, it LOOKED almost otherworldly, as it sparked on its way down, but what remained in the crash site looked far too…
…Mobian…

Random Sonic Stuffs
Well, I been in a particular Sonic-y mood, and I started spitballing some stuff that may or may not become something more later on.
Naturally it begins with Robotropolis ID;
But eh, since it might never amount to anything, might as well share. So, here, enjoy my creative spitballing! Hopefully!
Locations
Robotropolis: Known as the ‘Land of Darkness’ by some, Robotropolis is the grand sum of territories controlled by Doctor Ivo Robotnik. Robotropolis was created in the aftermath of the Great War, comprised of territories seized from Overland, The Empire of Amun and Kingdom of Acorn, centered in what was once known as the Acorn Archipelago, on Westside Island. Robotropolis is a vast, mechanized city, the largest on all of Mobius, with territories interconnected by railways centered in the Sunset Park Zone. Robotropolis comprises of multiple zones, with the Central Citadel serving as the cold metallic heart of Robotropolis’ mechanized body.
Robotropolis is a polluted mechanical nightmare, a vast wasteland comprised of factories, refineries and foundries. The empire is divided into Zones of three categories- Machine, Habitation, and Wild. Robotic Zones are purely mechanical, inhabited only by robots and Robians. These places are industrial centers and comprise the majority of Robotropolis. Scrap Brain Zone, Metropolis Zone and The Lava Shelter are examples of Robotic Zones.
Habitation Zones are the inhabited settlements of Robotropolis, where Mobian citizens live and labor endlessly to feed the insatiable greed of Robotropolis, living under the constant threat of Roboticization (AKA “The Robotomy Treatment”), among other things. Only members of the Legion have any kind of rights, and even then they live and die at Robotnik’s whim. Starlight City Zone is one such Zone, as is the Casino Nights Zone.
Wild Zones are the least numerous. These Zones are pristine areas that Robotnik has seemingly and inexplicably overlooked in his endless quest for resources, lush oases of green in an otherwise endless sea of metal and oil. Many seek to escape the Habitation Zones in order to live free in the Wild Zones, but in truth there is no freedom there- Robotnik only allows these Zones to exist to give the inhabitants of Robotropolis false hope, so that when he conquers and destroys them those that survive will be left more disheartened than ever. The Green Hill and Emerald Hill zones are Wild Zones.
The only area that doesn’t fall within any of these categories is the Dust Desert Zone, located in the southern part of the Acorn Archipelago. The Dust Desert is a vast expanse of sand and scrublands, with ramshackle towns and cities dotting the desolate landscape. When Robotnik first took over, many refugees fled to the harsh, resource scarce deserts to the south, correctly assuming that Robotnik wouldn’t consider such a place worth his time. The Dust Desert Zone swiftly became a wild, dangerous place, a haven for criminals and bounty hunters.
Robotropolis is regarded as a rogue state by the rest of Mobius’ developed nations. It is officially designated as the Dominion of Robotropolis, informally known as The Robotnik Empire, and at times satirized as the Eggman Empire or even “Eggmanland”. Past attempts to invade and reclaim Robotropolis have met with disaster, and Robotropolis has slowly expanded since its founding, spreading over more of the planet like a cancer. Recently its progress has been stymied by the efforts of an internal rebellion/revolution (The Freedom Fighter Movement), as well as the renowned heroics of one Sonic the Hedgehog.
The Kingdom of Acorn: Also known as the Acorn Remnant, the Kingdom of Acorn is a pale shadow of its former self. A continuation of the old Kingdom of Acorn, it is comprised of minor holdings that were overlooked by Robotnik during his coup, that were later consolidated into becoming the current incarnation of the Kingdom of Acorn, with New Mobotropolis as its capitol. Ruled over by King Nigel Acorn I, the Kingdom of Acorn seeks to reclaim what it once had. Unfortunately, it has no real ability to do so. After a disastrous attempted counter-attack that left him wheelchair bound and cost him the lives of his wife and son, King Nigel has largely abandoned any overt ambitions of reclaiming his homeland, instead focusing on protecting what little he has left.
The Kingdom of Acorn’s current government is reformed from the old Kingdom- while King Acorn is still the head of state (as is the House of Acorn), his power is not absolute. He is assisted in ruling by the Council of Acorn, and all major decisions by him must be verified by the vote of council, who in turn are elected into office. The Council emerged as part of a series of compromises between the King and the local rulers of the territories that eventually became the current Kingdom of Acorn.
While the Royal Army is capable of defending the Kingdom, it lacks the ability to truly project power on the global stage. Likewise, the current Kingdom has been beset by internal problems since its inception, many of them tied to tensions with refugees from the Amun Imperium seeking an escape from Robotnik’s genocidal conquests.
King Acorn is currently estranged from his daughter, Princess Sally Acorn, whom has defied his will to lead the Freedom Fighter Movement within Robotropolis. He has publically repudiated her actions, both due to fear of Robotnik’s retaliation, and due to the greater fear of her coming to harm or even Roboticization.

“BOUND FOR FREEDOM, YEAR TWO, DAY SIX: “HURT”
“Shake Like The Bough Of A Willow Tree”
“You should deactivate me. Immediately.”
The memory of those words rang strongly through Sonic’s mind as he walked through the streets of New Mobotropolis. They weighed his steps, keeping him from the brisk pace he usually enjoyed.
“I appreciate everything you’ve done to...to save me, but...you heard Rotor. I can’t be saved. This...this is what I am now.”
He looked to the soft glow of the moon in the sky, and it reminded him of those eyes. Sally’s eyes, unmistakable even when locked within a shell of glass and lights. Looking more full of...despair...then he could ever remember having seen in them before.
“There is no telling when I might...lose control again. We need to neutralize that threat now, before it...before I...can hurt anyone else ever again.”
The hedgehog’s quills bristled as the hospital came into view. It had been a few days now since those terrible words had been spoken...since he and Sally had seen each other. “I think right now, a bit of space is for the best,” Dr. Quack had said, and though patience was the farthest thing from Sonic’s strong suit, he cared deeply enough about Sally’s well being to obey for as long as he could. But in all that time, Sally’s words had continued to play and replay in his mind.
He had to do something.
So he’d talked to Quack, convinced him to give him this time...this chance. And as he entered the hospital, walked down its halls, and opened that door, he resolved to do whatever he could to make that chance count. “Hey, Sal.”
The robotic squirrel sat in the corner of the room, legs bent in front of her chest and arms folded across her knees, head bent low. For a moment, she remained that way, perfectly still...but eventually, she lifted her gaze to meet Sonic’s. When she said nothing, the hedgehog continued to speak, walking toward her. “I was thinkin’, if you weren’t doin’ anything else...” He reached a hand gently out to her. “Would you wanna take a li’l walk outside with me?”
Sally continued to stare at him in silence, but he did not move his hand. “I got Quack’s OK for it,” he said to her, then, more softly, “and I promise, first sign of any kind of trouble, I’ll zip you right back here. ‘Hog’s honor.”
They stayed like that for a few moments. And then, slowly, surely, Sally placed her hand in his.
Soon, they were back outside, walking together wordlessly, aimlessly. Every so often, they would look at each other, Sonic would smile, Sally’s eyes would flicker, and then it would be over. Eventually, they found themselves on the outskirts of the city. “’S a really nice night out,” Sonic said.
At first, Sally said nothing, but as her eyes slowly scanned across the stars, she spoke softly, “...yes...it is.”
That got Sonic’s attention, his ears perking just a touch. “Wanna make the most of it?” he asked, turning to look at her more fully. The robotic squirrel tilted her head uncertainly. “I know you’ve been through...are going through...a lot,” Sonic added, stepping toward her again; when she did not try to stop him or show any sign of discomfort, he closed the gap between them completely, hands slipping carefully along her waist. “But I’m still right here, Sal. Always ‘n’ always.” He pressed his head to hers...and he couldn’t keep a smile off his face as he felt her press back. “So follow my lead, OK?”
She nodded, and without another word Sonic had zipped away. He waved to her from the several feet of distance he’d immediately put between them. “Whaddya say, Sal?” he called out. “Wanna keep up our stroll?”
At first, Sally hesitated. Her hands tightened, and she stepped back, eyes drifting to her own feet. “That’s OK too, Sal,” he said. “It’s like I promised: you feel like goin’ back, we go back.” She looked over to him. “D’you feel like goin’ back?”
The princess seemed to consider it. But then, just a few seconds later, her hands opened up and her posture straightened. And then, with clunky but committed steps, she raced toward Sonic. He nodded eagerly, and darted off again; it was far from his max speed, but it set a strong pace. Sally continued to follow. “Where are we going...?” she asked as she strove to keep up.
“Guess we’ll both find that out,” Sonic replied, “together.”
He began to go faster. She did her best to match him. The city fell further and further behind them, the sky opening up wider and wider. She began to gain ground on the hedgehog, her steps growing stronger and steadier with each stride. “Lookin’ good, Sal!” Sonic said brightly. “It’s pretty fun, right? Movin’ like this?”
As they came to a towering mountain range, the hedgehog’s more familiar speed truly began to settle in, carrying him up the stone with ease. Even still, Sally remained right next to him, her eyes locked to his the whole way until they reached a plateau near the peak where Sonic finally skidded to a stop, and the robotic squirrel did the same. “...wait...how...?” she whispered, blinking a bit she looked all the way back down...and saw a trail of smoke beginning to wisp away.
Sally gasped, snapping her head down as she realized it was coming from the rocket boosters embedded into her feet. But even as she trembled, Sonic’s hands were on her shoulders, gently pulling her toward him. “It’s OK,” he whispered soothingly. “Sal, look at me.” She shook her head. “Please, Sal. I’m still right here, we’re still OK. Just...look at me, please.”
It was a plea, but not a desperate one, and in spite of herself Sally slowly did as he asked, finding his green eyes looking at her, filled with starlight and warmth. “We’re just...moving right now,” he said softly. “That’s all it is. Just...movement.” He gave her a moment, watched as her trembling slowed. “”When I’m in that world, just...moving? Everything just starts to make sense, y’know? So I wanted to share that with you. Because I love you.” Her hands slowly reached up to his own. “Because I wanted you t’see that this...what happened to you...” He paused, blinking at the wetness in his eyes. “There are things it can’t take from you. Not ever.”
The two stood together in the moonlight, holding each other’s gaze and each other’s hands. And then Sally slid forward, wrapping her hands around Sonic and pulling him close. She was careful. So careful. But she held him even so, and Sonic soon returned the gesture. They stayed like that for a good, long while, until Sally spoke, slowly, softly, shakily...but clearly. “...do you want...do you want to move with me...?”
He let out a contented breath. “Always, Sal.”
They leaned into each other. And then they began to move into the air. Higher and higher. Then faster and faster. Just like the city, the mountain fell further and further behind them. And then they began to turn. Then they bobbed downward, and lifted back upward. The straight lines became curves and bends leaving lines of light and smoke in their wake. Sally watched with wide eyes, Sonic smiling and laughing. Their dance carried them over the mountains, past the tree tops. “Just feel it, Sal,” Sonic said. “Don’t think. Just...feel it.”
The robotic squirrel looked to him cautiously. He looked back at her with a sincere smile and a trusting gaze.
And then...she closed her eyes.
She opened her arms and let him go, rising higher still into the air.
Felt the motions travel across every bit of steel and circuitry. Felt them move through her.
And then she careened back down, and found Sonic’s outstretched hand waiting for hers.
They continued that way for what felt like hours, up, over, around, together, apart, reunited.
But at long last, eventually, their feet touched down again, now on the roof of the hospital. Sonic slipped down into a sit, laughing happily. “You’re quite the dancer, Sal,” he said.
She stood there for a moment. She looked at him, then looked down at her feet. And then she too sat down, leaning gently into his shoulder. “...thank you,” she whispered back.”

2,16 & 17 for the sonic ask
Y’all were fooules if y’all thought my answers would be short and sweet. Have fun reading this gushing mess, nerrrddss.
2. How did you hear about Sonic?
I wanted a ds lite when it came out so I could play Mario kart with my cousins, so for Christmas, I got Mario Kart and Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. I figured it was a Mario adjacent game so it counted ghfjdk. I thought the sonic characters were interesting, I've never seen them before! I immediately latched onto Blaze and Sonic as my mains. I played the Sonic music ALLL the time on the jukebox in-game, ESPECIALLY starlight zone. Sonic music blew me away with how good it was.
Anyways, it was a total coincidence how I got into Sonic.
16. Favourite Sonic soundtrack(s)?
For sure Sonic Unleashed, I love how cinematic it can get and I love the diversity in the soundtrack. It goes from ska to jazz to rock, and it still feels like Sonic.
A close second would be Sonic CD, both versions! It’s my go to soundtrack when I need to focus since I’ve listened to them so much, haha. They’re both pop-rock, synth heavy, and TOTALLY 90s, but like, two versions of 90s music. It’s neat!
17. Favourite Sonic music track(s)?
With Me- Massive Power Remix-Sonic and the Black Knight
I love how this song fits Sonic AND Merlina. I can easily see them singing the same lines to each other. It’s sinister and cold, but ultimately they’re friends who end up fighting because of their conflicting views on death. So the lines “don’t blame for what I have become/ you know every world will come to end/ and I’ll create your final rest/ I can taste the day/ savor night/ scream your dreams/ as you dare to fight” hit differently.
Sonic wants life to be lived in the time that’s given, and that’s what makes it meaningful. Merlina wants to make life never-ending and believes immortality will be worth the consequences because life is precious and must be preserved. I can NOT think of a better song to fit the final battle.
It Doesn’t Matter- Sonic Adventure
Sorry ima out myself and say this version is the best. It’s slower-paced, but full of passion and is heroic yet somehow loose and rebellious. It feels like Sonic is proudly announcing what he believes. The adventure he seeks is purely for himself, and at this stage in his adventures, his moral compass isn’t fully defined. All he feels is that he must run, he needs to help others, and have the most fun while bashing badniks. It may seem reckless, but Sonic doesn’t care who’s wrong or right. He only follows his heart (luckily for us, it’s a steadfast heart of gold).
Live Life-Sonic and the Black Knight
This song is so underrated!! I absolutely adore this song. The key change at the end gets me, and the violins at the end playing the theme?? The final belt of “live life”?? Man, I can’t describe it but the song sounds like a bittersweet goodbye, a gentle urge to move on and seize tomorrow.
Spring Yard Zone- Sonic the Hedgehog
I like how punchy the bass is, how it just slidesssss. The melody is so playful and the entire track SCREAMS new jack swing. I love searching for remixes of it on youtube, my absolute favorites are
The-8-Bit-Band (incredible jazz/pop orchestra group)
SavageRegime’s rearrangement on the YM2612 (they took the punchy bass and shot it straight through my soul. I ASCEND at the glissando at the beginning)
and my boi Tee Lopes‘s 2010 remix. need I say more?
OK OK FINAL ONE
Special Stage-Sonic the Hedgehog
BUT ONLY the piano arrangement by masterluke1986. It’s so calming, nostalgic, and sad. It makes me want to just slow down and think.
The tiny completion jingle at the end sounds so….final and quiet. Peaceful, but it leaves me longing.
It doesn't have enough views guys give it some looveeee.

Mama Luigi’s Top 10 Favorite Games of All Time.
Hey, everyone! Mama Luigi here. Just wanted to create this list to show appreciation to the games that have given me the most joys in my life and so you can all have an idea what kind of games I love. I will be going into small detail on each game, give a description on why I love these games. and also add my favorite track from each game. Alright. Let’s begin!
10. Mega Man 10 (heh....funny)
This was the most recent Mega Man game we got until Mega Man 11 arrived. This was released in 2010 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and WiiWare, and now available in Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The story is that a virus called “Roboenza” has appeared and have caused robots to go out of control. It’s up to Mega Man and for the first time joining his side, Proto Man, to stop the menace and uncover the cause of the virus. Many would think that at the 10th game, the gameplay of Mega Man would get stale. Not so! The platforming is still tight and a fair challenge, the robot masters are some of my personal favorites of the series with Blade Man, Nitro Man, Strike Man, and my baby boi Sheep Man. The music is fantastic with tracks such as Stage Select, Solar Man stage, and Wily Stage 1. The weapons may not have been as useful as Mega Man 9, but the good ones are really good like Blade Man weapon and Nitro Man weapon. Plus the added DLC with playable Bass and 3 stages based on the Mega Man Game Boy games are a great bonus!
Favorite Track: Nitro Man
9. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Released in 1997 for the Playstation and rereleased on the PSN store and PSP as part of the Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. After the disappearance of Richter Belmont, Alucard is tasked with invading his father’s palace and put an end to his reign of terror. Symphany of the Night broke the mold of the Castlevania traditional platform gameplay with a non-linear explorative action adventure similar to the Metroid series, which coined the term Metroidvania. Later games would adopt the Symphony of the Night gameplay such as Aria of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia. What I love about this game is just the amount of free roam the game allows for you to do and what kind of items you can find. If you are having trouble with a part of the game, there is a variety of solutions such as a certain spell or a certain weapon combinations that can help you out. The graphics are a clean, smooth sprite style and the music is some fantastic CD quality music. The love I have for this game makes me even more excited for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to come out in 2019.
Favorite Track: Dracula’s Castle
8. Kirby: Planet Robobot
Released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2016. Planet Popstar has been converted in a mechanized world due to President Haltmann and his goons. Able to snatch one of the bots, Kirby embarks on a robotic adventure to free his planet from the machine menace. I love Kirby. I love Robots. Put them together and you get a absolute fantastic adventure with great Copy Abilities old such as Sword, Fire, and Hammer, as well as new such as Doctor, Poison, and ESP. The levels are well design to emphasized the robot theme and the soundtrack was given a more techno feel. The best parts are definitely the Robobot segments! It can not only smash enemies along the way, buy also copy it’s own set of abilites!
Favorite Track: Super Nova (vs. Star Dream Soul OS) or “P.R.O.G.R.A.M”
7. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
Released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2014, Smash 3DS was a companion game for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Nintendo’s greatest are pitted against each other in battle to see who will come out in top. Due to not owning a Wii U, I was a bit skeptic about getting the 3DS version, thinking it was only a dumb down version. I can now say it was not the case! Smash 3DS is just about as a real Smash game as the Wii U version. Having a cast of 65 characters, there a character for almost anyone. The addition of Omega Stages allowed for any stage to be play for competitive match. The choice between For Glory and For Fun was a fantastic idea that allowed any kind of player to have fun. Smash Run was a fun game mode to run in a maze collecting power ups to face your opponents. The music was god like with themes coming from a variety of games and remixes included. So many hours playing with my friends, I know I will always cherish this game and am looking forward to Smash Ultimate this December. BTW, my mains are Pikachu, Luigi, and Lucina.
Favorite Track: Tie between “Gerudo Valley (Legend of Zelda)” or “Main Theme”
6. Shovel Knight
Released in 2014 for the PC and Wii U, with later releases on 3DS, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch. Shovel Knight stars our titular character on quest to stop the evil Enchantress and her Order of No Quarter with his trusty shovel. Steel thy Shovel! Shovel Knight is an indie created by Yacht Club as their first game, and man do they give it their all! Shovel Knight is styled after the NES days not only in art style and music, but in difficulty as well. With exciting stages with their own gimmicks and precise platforming, Shovel Knight is definitely for those who want to relive the NES days. The music is amazing, the characters have so much personality, and the 3 DLC are basically full games put in. Plauge of Shadows is a fun mode with combining different potions. Spector of Torment is my favorite mode with wall climbing, slicing enemies, and Scythe Skating (yes I said Scythe Skating). King of Cards is not out yet, but is showing promise to be just as fun as the 3 other campaigns.
Favorite Track: La Danse Macabre (Spector Knight Stage)
5. Sonic Colors
Released in 2010 for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles “Tails” Prower must stop Dr. Eggman from capturing planets for his Interstellar Amusement Park and free the captive Wisps. Sonic Colors takes the game play the day time levels from Sonic Unleashed and puts him in a high speed adventure with amazing level designs such as Tropical Resort and Starlight Carnival. The Wisp power up allow Sonic to absorb the Wisp and take a variety of forms such as the Cyan Laser or Yellow Drill. What I really enjoy is how the White Wisp the only thing that gave you the Boost so you had to plan out when is the best place to use it. The best feeling I get from this game is sense of speed I get.
Favorite Track: Planet Wisp Act 1
4. Hyrule Warriors: Definite Edition
Released in 2014 for the Wii U, released for 3DS in 2015, and finally for the Nintendo Switch. The Dark Sorceress Cia has called the greatest villains from across the Zelda timelines. Now Zelda, Link, the White Sorceress Lana, Self-Proclaimed Hero Linkle( and best girl), plus heroes from the entire series must stop her and save Hyrule. An absolute fantastic hack n slash adventure where you get use your favorite Zelda Characters and just wreck everything in your path. With a fantastic soundtrack of original tracks and remixes of past Zelda themes. An expansive Adventure Map where you can collect heart pieces and unlock new weapons, collecting material to expand your characters strength. You can spend so many hours on this game and just have a good time.
Favorite Track: Linkle’s Theme
3. Metroid Fusion
Released in 2002 for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. After an expedition to SR-388, Samus is infected with X-Parasite. After being given a vaccine containing Metroid DNA, Samus is tasked with investigating the BSL Station. This game. This god damn game was my first horror game. It terrified my 8 year old self. The tense atmosphere, the feeling of isolation, the horrible monstrosities all being after you was made perfectly. And we can not forget about the the nightmare fuel that is the SA-X. That thing was horrifying! The gameplay is fantastic with just shooting down monster after monster and fighting to survive.
Favorite Track: Vs. Nightmare
2. Super Mario World
Released in 1991 as a launch title for the SNES. Mario travels to Dinosaur Land to save Peach(again) from Bowser(again). Super Mario World was my first console game and I share many fond memories of it. The graphics are great with a nice color palette, the levels are fun and varied in design, the Super Cape is an amazing power up, allowing you to skip levels with the right timing. It also introduces one of our favorite dinosaurs, Yoshi. The music is catchy and is remixed into almost every track in the game. This game is truly a masterpiece.
Favorite Track: Staff Roll
1. Pokemon Emerald.
Released in 2005 for the Game Boy Advance, Pokemon Emerald is the 3rd game in the Gen 3 Pokemon games, following Ruby and Sapphire. As moving to the Hoenn Region, a young trainer travels defeating gym leaders, catching Pokemon and stopping the villainous Team Magma and Team Aqua. This is it. This is without a doubt my favorite game of all time. My very first game I ever bought with my own money. Many hours put in to catching all the Pokemon, training and raising different teams, competing in the Battle Frontier. Team Magma and Team Aqua were the first villains to actually feel like a threat, the Hoenn region is an amazing land scape with well known areas such as Mt. Chimney, Meteor Falls, and Sootopolis CIty. The Pokemon designs were made more excotic looking and the music is simple sublime with the use of trumpets. I love this game and I will continue to love and play for all of eternity.
Favorite Track: “Littleroot Town” “Route 120″ and “Ending Credits”
So what did you all think? Do you share any of my opinions on these games? What are some of your favorite games of all time? I would love to know! Have a great day to you all and this is Mama Luigi signing out!

STAGE ONE ; NUTTY NEBULA
Sonic’s Mechanics in a hypothetical Mario Galaxy featuring the Blue Blur consist of Dashing across various Micro-Planets and asteroid belts not unlike the Plumber in his own Galactic Romp, however faster gameplay and deadlier enemies pursue the Hedgehog as he chases Doc Robotnik through the stage in an effort to bust free a capsule of Looma’s or snag a Chaos Emerald from him. There is usually a boss fight at the end of Sonic’s stages, which are the third stage in a set of three for various zones and acts.
STAGE ONE ; ACT 3 ; BEGIN
First he’s chasing Goombas across a field of Daffodils, and now robots are showing up and punting him from Micro Planet to Micro Planet. How on Earth did Bowser get Robots this advanced and this strong. Simple stomps and hammer swings aren’t doing it. Though Mario is even more confused when these Egg shaped droids start blasting The Goombas... Though he’s too tired to speak.
“OHHHH-HO-HO-HOOOO~!” A voice suddenly rings out as a floating, mechanical pod sinks down from the sky and a man with a sinister looking mustache and a pair of blue glasses leans across the pod to stare down at Mario. “Good Evening, sir~! I’m Doctor Robotnik... Soon to be the new ruler of this strange and divine world! This is a friendly warning, from one Mustache enthusiast...” He did have a nice mustache “-Too another! Surrender, and you will be spared...” He waves his hand lazily.
“Barring you surrender yourself to undying Loyalty to my empire! Of course.” The Doctor Chuckles as he leans forward. “So! What will it be, good sir?” The Doctor asks, only for Mario to growl and toss his hammer at the egg shaped pod, which rumbles when it’s hit, but seems relatively unaffected.
“...Disappointing. E-Bots!! Destroy him!”
As the Robots close in, Mario raises fists high and prepares for a nasty brawl before one of the robots slams into his neighbor. Then bots start exploding as blue lights intertwine between each other. Then suddenly, amidst the pile of scrap, a figure in dashing sneakers and slick clothing appears, blue hair tied into a pony tail blowing softly in the wind created by his momentum and pale skin glowing brightly with ears twitching in excitement.
“What!? Sonic!?” The Doctor shouts at him, as if he’s known the speedster for years.
Kicking a robot part away and hopping off the pile, The Speedster, Sonic, speaks in a snarky tone.
“Ssup, Doc~?” “B-B-B-B-B-But-! The Celestial Drive-!” “Eyah?” “Chaos Control!!” “Mhm.” “I thought you destroyed yourself!”
Sonic started chuckling as he squatted down and dusted his hands. “Seriously Doc... I created that mess. You really didn’t think I knew what I was doin’? Sure, I had a nice little vacation in a nifty world called Teyvat, but I stopped smellin’ the flowers and hopped back along the Cosmic trail to kick yer butt, Doc.”
“Rrrgh!! Your manners are as bad as ever, Hedgehog! I’ll destroy you here and now!” He shouts, Sonic standing up and kicking his foot against the ground as him and Robotnik take off down the only path available before them, Robotnik activating a series of tubes on the side and top of his pod that glow a fearsome red.
A series of three lasers fire in a sequence Sonic is quick enough to dodge. First the sides, then the top, then all three that Sonic hops onto a passing robot to avoid, kicking it into the Egg-pod before landing back on the path and dashing toward Robotnik, kicking more of the reinforcements he called into his pod until smoke is fuming and leaking from his pod. The Plumber has never seen something move so fast.
“Come on Doc~! Is that all you got?!” Sonic taunts. It gets under Robotnik’s skin pretty easy. “NO!!! Fire Everything!! Fire All Weapons!!”
Slamming his finger against a button, the pod and all robotic reinforcements fire every blaster and laser they have at their disposal, Sonic grinning in delight as he’s engulfed in hellfire and plasma, smoke and fire engulfing the path he’s on. Mario lets out a cry, ‘OH NO!!!’ Before he stops, tilting his head and seeing the smoke clear.
“OH NO!!” Eggman Parrots, as the smoke clears and Super Sonic stands there, Chaos Emeralds rotating slowly around him. “They came through with me, Doc... and I went through a lot of effort to get these bad boys back, Eggster... so I think I earned the right to scramble yer egg...” He grins, blonde hair waving calmly and golden aura pulsating brightly as Ruby Eyes flare at the doc. He aims his hand forward and with just a pulse of it, The Doctor’s robots are destroyed by an air cannon.
“It’s time for us to go home, Robotnik.” “NO!! I’ve worked too hard to set up shop here, Sonic! I won’t let you-” “CHAOS!!!” “NO!”
As the emeralds glow a starlight white, Eggman fires a laser pistol in his pod’s cabin at one of the emeralds. Before Sonic can add on the ‘CONTROL’ to the Chaos, the emerald shatters, causing Super Sonic to let out a pained scream and be blown back by the shattering of all Seven chaos emeralds, which reverts his blue back to gold. Eventually, The Doctor is left shocked as Sonic stands up, wind knocked out of his lungs.
“Until we meet again... my old enemy...” The Doctor sighs before the pod starts hovering away.
Sonic can only be left, to literally pick up the pieces of the emeralds, which scatter across the cosmos to different micro planets and star systems. He holds the pieces of the fourth emerald in his hands before sighing. He’s angry. he keeps it contained... Sighing as he looks up at the stars.
Paimon... Lumine... Keqing... Noelle.
Your work and efforts to help me get home won’t be wasted. He stuffs the shards of the emerald into his bag and turns around to see Mario standing there. He saw what happened, and understands now. Eggman is an invader, and Sonic is a traveler from another world that is trying to contain the chaos he inadvertadly started... so he’s gotta take Eggman home.
Mario speaks a bit to Sonic, which to the normal ear, sounds like gibberish. Sonic, though, has advanced and highly perceptive hearing thanks to his ears.
“Huh? You wanna help?” Sonic tilts his head, looking between the cosmos and Mario. “It looks like a long trek, dude, ya sure?”
Mario nods.
Sonic shrugs and fistbumps the plumber.
“I appreciate it, dude!”
Time to hit the ole’ cosmic trail.

Sunshine stands frozen in surprise for a moment, blinking in confusion as he takes in his suddenly new surroundings. What had just happened? A moment ago he had been making his way up one of the enormous towers that had sprouted forth from the ground and now he was suddenly standing in a seemingly endless red void, feeling like he was being pulled along toward an unknown goal. He decided to follow the strange force wherever it was trying to guide him since it might be his only lead to figure out what was going on and how to get out of this place.
He didn't know how long he had been walking or how far he had gone when he finally spotted Tails, Knuckles, and Amy together ahead of him. The hedgehog sprinted to them, only to stop dead in his tracks when he discovered what his friends were gathered around.
It was Starlight.
The normally bright and energetic hedgehog stood ridged and still, static and unblinking like a statue staring into space.
"Sonic...? What happened to him? Where are we?"
Sunshine questions as he joins up with the rest of the group, hoping that at least one of them would be able to give him some answers about their current situation and about what was wrong with his husband.
"He must have taken on so much cyber energy that it corrupted him. He's stuck between realities because he took on our corruption to save us..." Tails replies sadly as Sunshine looks down at his own body, realizing that he had regained his corporeal form along with all of their friends.
"Sonic no!" Amy gasps, hands covering her mouth and tears filling her eyes "We have to fix this!" The pink hedgehog cries out while Sunshine places a hand on his husband's cheek, feeling a fuzzy static sensation coming off of him like an old TV screen.
"You have to return to cyberspace, quickly!" Sage's voice finally catches the hedgehog's attention as she speaks to her creator, small hands placed on the side of the scientist's hovercraft.
"What? Why? I just got out!" The human replies to his AI daughter. How long had the two of them been there?
"Because you'll be destroyed if you're still here when it gets out!" She says fearfully, concerned for her father's safety.
"When what gets ou-?" Eggman begins to ask, only to be interrupted by a rumbling roar that seemed to fill the sky, followed by an equally powerful voice:
"Since time immemorial I have languished here. The locks are broken. Now I shall tear down the walls between dimensions and consume all!"
"Oh no you don't! This is my world to conquer! I'll mobilize the Eggfleet and blow you right out of the sky!" Eggman shouts at the unseen entity, shaking his fist at the sky.
"It won't be enough! It defeated the Ancients and their advanced technology, your weaponry wouldn't stand a chance against that kind of power! My simulations show a success rate of zero percent! Please let me fulfill my function, let me protect you!" Sage warns him, begging the doctor to flee to safety.
"Starlight worked too hard for us to give up now! There has to be a way to push back the corruption and bring him back to us! Restoring our physical forms is what did this to him, maybe us going back into cyberspace will reverse the affects of the corruption?" Sunshine theorizes, his hand now resting on the blue hedgehog's shoulder.
"That might work, even if only enough to restore his consciousness. We have to try something, sitting here doing nothing and awaiting our demise won't solve anything" Tails says, holding his hands out for his friends to take. Sunshine nods and takes one of the fox's hands in his own while Knuckles takes his other hand and Amy closes the circle by taking the echidna's and the fox's outstretched hands.
"Anything for Sonic!" "We're even after all this!" Amy and Knuckles state in unison as all four of them shut their eyes and focus on fighting back Starlight's corruption. Their bodies begin to flicker and fade out again as the corruption starts to vanish from the blue hedgehog's body, restoring his mental and physical state, although some of the corruption still remained. All of them except for Sunshine. While Amy, Tails, and Knuckles were now returned to their cyber hologram stat while Sunshine's body remained in his normal form. "Sonic, are you okay? Did it work?" He questions, pulling his husband into a tight embrace.
"I'm fine now thanks to all of you guys. Thank you" The blue hedgehog grins at his partner and their friends.
"This is our chance! I never simulated a scenario where Sonic and his friends helped since you never authorized me to even consider the possibility!" Sage pipes up excitedly as she addresses her creator.
"I still don't want to..." Eggman grumbles angrily, arms crossed as he looks past his creation to glare at the group of Mobians. "Please, father! This might be our only chance to succeed!" The AI girl pleads desperately.
"Fine...ahem, I hereby temporarily induct the lot of you into the Eggman Empire and order you to save us all! This is not an alliance, understand?" The man huffs.
"Sure, if you say so" Sunshine rolls his eyes while Starlight grins smugly at his longtime enemy "Whatever you say, Dr.Ego-man" The blue hedgehog laughs.
"Sage, you stay with me to help me bypass the Ancient's security systems and access their database so we can try and figure out just what exactly this creature is and possibly how to defeat or contain it" Eggman orders his creation.
"As you command, father!" Sage nods "But first I must speak to Sonic and his friends, there is something important that must be addressed before we proceed with the plan" She says, turning to the Mobians "Of my millions of calculations, there was one so remote and unlikely I did not consider it as a viable option. However, as things stand, it could be the scenario to save us all"
"Well we've beaten the odds more times than we can count! What's the plan?" Starlight asks, still as optimistic and cheerful as ever despite his lingering cyber corruption.
"I can stabilize your corruption for a brief time by transferring a portion of it to your partner and guide you both on how to convert that corruption into power that you will use to end this conflict and save father" Sage explains.
"And save the world too, right?" Sunshine questions, amused and somewhat endeared by the AI's dedication to her father.
"It is his world to conquer, so yes" Sage replies matter of factly, causing the two hedgehogs to sigh and shake their heads.
"Wait a minute, hold on. Isn't there another way to do this that doesn't involve Sunshine being corrupted too? I don't want to put him through that, especially after what it did to me" Starlight interrupts, concerned for his husband's well-being.
"I'll be fine, love. You took on the full brunt of it for us, the least I can do is take on some of that burden and fight at your side. Please let me do this with you" Sunshine assures the other hedgehog "I want to be there for you. You don't have to do this alone, we're a team"
"You're right, let's do this together" Starlight grins at his spouse, taking his hand and squeezing it firmly. "Ready when you are!" Sunshine smiles back at him.
Sage floats down to hover in front of the couple, a ball of glitching white light appearing in her hands. She shuts her eyes and the ball of light splits in two before surging forward into the two hedgehogs, causing searing pain to shoot through their bodies as some of Starlight's cyber corruption spreads into his husband. Sunshine stumbles and falls onto his knees, one hand clamped over his mouth and the other clutching at his middle as a wave of nausea washes over him. The feeling soon passes, leaving both of them dizzy and disoriented as they catch their breath to steady themselves.
Sunshine feels a static sensation running up and down his back in a soothing motion, he smiles a bit when he realizes that it was Amy attempting to comfort him by rubbing his back to the best of her capability "Thanks, Amy...you guys are the best, y'know that? I mean it" He says, slowly standing up and helping Starlight to his feet.
"Alright, I know it's been rough since we all came here and things are still pretty confusing, but I need you guys to just follow my lead" Starlight says, looking to Amy, Tails, and Knuckles "I need you three to find the Chaos Emeralds while Sunny and I take care of this corruption, okay?"
"Alright, we trust you two" Amy nods with an assuring smile. "You can count on us!" Tails chimes in. "This'll be a piece of cake!" Knuckles boasts.
"We must hurry! There isn't much time before the threat arrives, follow me!" Sage warns, motioning for the married couple to come with her as the other three Mobians split up to find the Chaos Emeralds "I will return to assist you after I complete my current objective, father" The AI assures her creator before heading towards the first tower with Sunshine and Starlight in tow.
"Be careful...my dear daughter" Eggman mutters softly, watching his digital child leave.

Modest Media Game Reviews Sonic Series extravaganza, part 1 Sonic the Hedgehog
Game – Sonic the Hedgehog Publisher – Sega Year of Release – 1991 Console – Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Also Available on – Arcade, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, PSP, Gamecube, PC, Xbox, Mobile Phones, GBA, Wii, Xbox 360, Ps3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3Ds
Where it all began, released in 1991 as a competitor of the Mario franchise, Sonic was made to surpass its rival in every way, because of this, this game is essentially what started the famed console wars. This is the origin of Sega’s ultimate mascot, in this game we play as Sonic, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog who has an attitude and can run super fast. The game takes place over 7 levels, with the seventh being the final boss. Each level has 3 acts ending with a boss fight against the main antagonist Dr. Robotnik, or Dr. Eggman as he was known in Japan and as he is known as today. This game and the series it spawned is polarizing, with opinions about it ranging from bad to good, lets see where we stand.
Gameplay – The gameplay is flawed to say the least. The basic concept of sonic is simple, run fast and complete the levels. However, speed is punished more often than not in this game punishes speed with pitfalls and rather cheap enemy placements. Because of this flaw, its more rewarding to avoid going too fast in a game that’s about going fast, secondly level design conflicts with the foundation of speed based gameply. Green hill zone is great for speed, with loops, pipes and an overall solid level scheme that allows for boost of speed and stretches of land without obstacles. However, upon getting used to speed you are thrown into marble zone, which is about slow platforming, as it is to boxy and hazardous to go fast. Spring yard zone promotes speed, but at the same time throws obstacles that most first time players will hit and be reduced to a halt. The infamous Labyrinth zone renders speed almost impossible, starlight zone is like green hill, with a few pitfalls but overall rewarding, and scrap brain…oh scrap brain, let me put it thins way, everything wants to kill sonic, so speed will often lead to death. The bosses in this game range from easy to somewhat difficult, as in Labriynth zones boss is hard, the bosses are diverse and fun to fight against. Due to the fact that half the levels punish speed, the game is up and down when it comes to sonic gameplay. Score – 6/10
Graphics – Graphics are beautiful both for the time and by todays standards. Each level has a unique tile set and background, backgrounds are elaborate and fluid, from the waterfalls of green hill to the smoke stacks of scrap brain zone. The game rarely suffers from slowdown thanks to the legendary “blast processing”. Enemies are diverse, and sonic’s and Robotnik’s sprites are lively and have a splash of character. Robotnik laughs at sonic and will show worry when getting hit. Sonic will grow impatient if he is left stationary. Each stage is memorable in its own way thanks to presentation, and the graphics preserve through the test of time. However, the bonus stage graphics can be somewhat nauseating to look at for a long time. Score – 9/10
Story – The story holds little impact on the game, so this section will not be scored. However, I will share the story, which is found mostly in the manual. Basically the main antagonist, Dr. Robotnik, is after the chaos emeralds due to their unlimited power. He invades south island, home of Sonic, and begins to construct his base on it, he transforms the inhabitants into robots to create his army. Sonic must go through the various areas of his home island to stop Robotnik. The plot is simple yet effective, and would serve as the first domino in a long line of sonic plots, some more convoluted than others… However, the story is barely mentioned in the game, save for the ending cutscene which varies if you have all six chaos emeralds or not, yes six, in most versions of the game there is no seventh and thus no super sonic. Score – N/A, has little impact on the game to warrant a score.
Replay Ability – Due to the level design, your first playthrough will be slow and possibly full of errors, levels sometimes have multiple paths, with the higher paths being quicker but much more dangerous and challenging, while lower paths are somewhat safer but longer. Some stages are more linear than others. Another factor is chaos emeralds, if you fail to get them all the game will show Robotnik mocking you with text saying try again. However, getting all the emeralds does not grant you anything special, just a slightly different opening. Overall, the only reason someone would want to reply is either out of nostalgia, or to tackle a higher route on some levels, but this isn’t enough to warrant a full new playthrough. Score – 6/10
Music – Sonic is an inconsistent series, the games quality rises and falls like a roller coaster ride. One thing that has persevered since the beginning however, is the music. Almost every song in this game is iconic in its own way, each level them stands out and captures the feeling the level is conveying. Sound effects are great, overall the sound design and music is amazing, and this would continue onwards into the sequels. Score – 10/10
youtube
Overall – The first sonic game is polarizing yes, but this should not undermine the fact that it is a good game. People hate on it today, but consider the time the game was released, was there anything else like it in 1991? This game holds little nostalgia to me, as I grew up with Sonic 3, but its still a decent fun game that can be beaten somewhat quickly, my record is an hour and 5 minutes. I would say give it a try if you haven’t, but remember, a lot of the tropes of the sonic franchise are not present here… Final score – 7.8/10
One thing this game could improve – Level design, some enemies and traps are very cheaply placed.

And because I’m the kinda gal who knows how to use her time wisely, here’s my idea for an official Sonic/MLP crossover.
Discord is bored one day.
He decides to pass the time by watching Rainbow Dash race someone fast, but there’s no one in Equestria who could really push her to her limit. As such he looks into other dimensions.
He finds Sonic’s universe and notes how fast the blue hedgehog is, discreetly plucking him out of his world and into Equestria. The two meet and inevitably, they race.
However, Sonic was in the middle of a scuff with Dr. Eggman when he suddenly vanished. Eggman, knowing that his hated enemy just disappearing was too good to be true, finds a way to track where we vanished to and ends up in Equestria.
With a skeleton crew of mechs (and Metal Sonic) at his command, they start scanning the immediate area and find a power source going off the charts. The Tree of Harmony. Seeing it as a potential tool for his global conquest, Eggman begins to unroot the tree to take it back to his world.
Since Twilight’s castle is connected to the tree, it being unearthed caused the castle to collapse. Twilight understands this means the Tree is in trouble so she tells Spike to get the others while she and Starlight teleport on ahead to see what’s wrong.
They confront Eggman before he returns to his world and he sends Metal Sonic against them. They fair pretty well, but a sneak attack from Eggman knocks them both out. He sees that one of the elements on the tree matches Twilight’s cutie mark, so he takes her back to his world.
Rainbow’s race with Sonic is cut short as her friends flag her down on their 100th lap through ponyville. They tell her something is wrong when Starlight appears to them injured and distressed. She tells them a human with mechanical minions took both the tree and Twilight. Sonic, nearby when this is happening gathers that it was Eggman, who must have followed him to this world. He apologizes for this and promises that he’ll take down Eggman down and bring them back. Rainbow, not satisfied with doing nothing while her friend is in danger, demand’s to come back to Sonic’s world to help rescue her, the rest of the mane 6 following suit.
They go to Celestia, Luna, and Cadence who manage to create a portal to Sonic’s world using him as a conduit. The princesses themselves must stay behind because, without the tree, Equestria is vulnerable and will need protection before this is over. Sonic, the Mane 5, Spike and Starlight all go to his world, where they meet up with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Sonic tells them what’s going on and soon after, Silver shows up. The timeline is in flux due to the actions of the present, endangering the future of both worlds. As such, both teams of heroes prepare to storm Eggman’s base.
Inside said base, Eggman is grilling Twilight for information regarding how the Tree of Harmony works. She refuses to talk, seeing as Eggman couldn’t even harness it’s power even if she did. Frustrated, Eggman decides that he’ll just roboticize Twilight so she’ll have to tell him, and leaves to go prepare for it. Inside his command center, Eggman exposites to himself about his plan to conquer the world with the tree’s power when one of his robots shoots him in the back.
It’s revealed to be Queen Chrysalis, who assumed the form of one of his robots in the confusion of the fight between Twilight, Starlight, and Metal. Eggman, wounded but alive commands his robots to attack, but Chrysalis turns into Eggman and tells them to stand down, before knocking the real Eggman out with another magic blast. She has the robots toss him down the garbage chute as she assumes control of his entire empire.
Meanwhile, Twilight is trying to find a way out of her prison when she’s met by Rouge the Bat. She was doing recon in Eggman’s base when she overheard his interrogation of the princess. She breaks Twilight out, who tells them they have to save the tree, but Rogue says they defenses would likely vaporize them before they got anywhere near the tree. Twilight begrudgingly agrees to withdraw with Rouge so they can come back with reinforcements and they meet up with their ride, Shadow, and E-123 Omega. They take her back to G.U.N. HQ where she explains the situation.
G.U.N. Commander Abraham Tower sees the situation is dire and commands Team Dark to take Twilight and meet up with Sonic and his friends. They do so, incidentally reuiniting Twilight with her own friends. After hugs are had and tears are shed, they get their game faces on and get ready to storm Eggman’s base.
Chrysalis, still disguised as Eggman, is frustrated with her inability to harness the tree’s power. Orbot, Eggman’s advisor, suggests that instead of harnassing the Tree’s power directly, they just drain it, converting it into power they can use. Chrysalis likes this and tells them to make it so when the heroes suddenly attack.
The real Eggman meanwhile is able to pull himself out of the trash compactor and back to his command center thanks to the contingency protocols he placed on all his bases in case any of his forces went rogue. He confronts Chrysalis, this time prepared, but sees that the base is under attack. He admits he’s impressed by how she managed to so easily infiltrate and assume control of his base and offers an alliance to dispose of their enemies. She agrees and they get to work. As the Tree is being drained, they manage to modify Metal Sonic to emulate Chrysalis’ shapeshifting powers. Coupled with his ability to copy the data of any fighter, he now can perfectly mimic any opponent he faces.
As the heroes chew through Eggman’s defenses, they encounter Metal who starts to change into each of the heroes as they fight, even the Mane 6. He gets a few licks on them, but they manage to throw him off by combining their attacks. Pinkie shooting Sonic out of a party cannon, Twilight powering up Amy’s hammer with magic, Silver reinforcing Applejacks’ lasso with psychokinesis, etc. Soon enough, they defeat Metal, but not before Eggman and Chrysalis show up. Both of them are wearing mech suits fueled by the now drained Tree of Harmony.
The two of them start smacking the heroes around some, things looking bleak. Twilight is especially distraught as she sees the lifeless tree withered away. Sonic tells them not to give up and that there’s always a way for them to prevail. His words of encouragement reinvigorate the heroes and the tree begins to glow slightly. Twilight realizes that they may have drained the Tree’s magic but they still had the most powerful magic of all, friendship. The power of their friendship now made stronger by the new friends they made, brings the tree back to life and bestows the mane 6 and Sonic’s gang with the power of the elements. Rainbow and Sonic are Loyalty and Bravery. Applejack and Knuckles are Honesty and Strength. Pinkie and Silver are Laughter and Hope. Fluttershy and Tails are Kindness and Healing, Rarity and Amy are Generosity and Beauty. Twilight and Shadow are Magic and Sorcery. With their newfound power, they’re able to defeat Eggman and Chrysalis and return the Tree to where it belonged.
With the day saved, the heroes agree it’s time to part ways, but not before a party to celebrate their victory (upon Pinkie’s request. Twilight happily proclaims that the magic of friendship spans across worlds and Sonic jokingly says in their world they refer to it as the superpower of teamwork. Just before they return to Equestria, Sonic reminds Rainbow that they never finished their race. Rainbow promises they’ll have a do-over someday.
As the story ends it’s revealed that Discord and Tikal had been watching the whole time. Tikal notes that in spite of the havoc that was caused by Discord’s meddling, unbreakable bonds were forged by the hero’s victory. Discord smiles and says that was all part of the plan.
