stex month day 6: ashley!

favorite actor: chrissy wickham and emma prosser!

favorite songs/scenes: def girls rolling stock! the choreo is so fun, so is a lotta locomotion

favorite costumes: bochum, specifically with the longer skirt!! it's so pretty <3 i also like her showgirl costume, i think it's the cutest of the bunch. big fan of late london when the metal hairpiece was triangular too

favorite ships/friendships: i'm not super invested in ashley/buffy but it's cute enough! i also hc her and duvay as sisters and they're very close :)

headcanons: offering ppl a cigarette is one of her go-to ways to try and comfort them! she's willing to give up the last one she has. she also likes those big fancy cigarette holders and has a collection of them

unpopular opinion: tbh i don't think i have one?? she's not a very contentious character. i guess i'm not super upset about her being cut even if i do like her

STEX APPRECIATION MONTH DAY 14: DUSTIN

Favorite Actor(s): Gavin Ashbarry is the ONLY Dustin and I am not exaggerating.

Favorite Song/Scenes: Rusty And Dustin is such a cute scene eeeee. Also love how shy he is during his intro in Freight

Favorite Costume(s): Broadway and Japan/Aus since his makeup there is Not Scary as opposed to Bochum which for decades insisted on giving him the scariest makeup ever. At least the 2018 update fixed him <3

Favorite Ships/Friendships: I don't ship him with anyone since I see him as aro/ace! His closest friends are Rusty, Flat Top, and CB!!!

Headcanons: Dustin collects cool rocks he finds by the tracks on the freight routes. He keeps them lined up in his section of the shed :)

Unpopular Opinion: I don't think this is unpopular but oh my god they NEED to stop hiring the tiniest little twig men and sticking them in fat suits. I feel like especially the latest Bochum casts have been getting the guys with the thinnest faces ever it's so creepy. Just get some fat guys to play him Please.

Favourite Ships/Friendships: Pearl x Rusty, Pearl x Coco, Pearl x Electra (but mostly Workshop Electra because it's silly to me). Her friends are the coaches (especially Dinah and Belle Jr.), Rusty, Dustin, Poppa, Momma, and Electra (post-canon)

Headcanons: She's an adrenaline junkie and has always wanted to be a racer. Of course she would jump at the chance to race with the reigning champion! Post-canon she goes on to become a champion racing coach

Unpopular Opinion: Aside from her and Rusty's meet-cute (Pfeife für mich is so adorable!), I don't really like the rewrites where she's completely new to the yard. It's more interesting to me when she and Rusty have a bit of history

headcannons: she used to be a steam crane before converting herself to a diesel hydraulic crane. she's self propelled so she's pretty fast and can't race behind an engine in partner races since she's classed as one herself. she's been a dedicated race medic and trainer her entire life, and is highly sought after by professional racers. inbetween racer contracts she works as a standby medic for races. hasn't dated in decades because she prioritizes her career and is thrilled to have found herself a partner who is cool never being her first priority and values independence. repaired and brought joule to life and is incredibly fond of her <3 owns two robocats who live with rusty. constantly feels cold due to a fluke in her conversion. is the only train to have done her own conversion with her own hands. instead of dreaming when asleep she runs maintenance on her code. has misophonia and major depressive disorder. convinced she doesn't know how to be vulnerable or loveable. krupp is her oldest friend and has worked with her many times before they both got hired by electra. big enjoyer of different teas. is a crazy workaholic. has triangular pupils which nobody knows the explanation behind. has seen her fair share of death and suffering as a trackside emergency responder. has an innate need to look put together to other people at all times even when she's struggling. knows how to fight and will fight to protect her loved ones (the components). rough and blunt on the outside. gift giving and acts of service are her love languages. doesn't really have a home because she's traveling with electra so often. there's more but this is a huge wall of text already

I don't think many of you will be interested in this, but if you are, I made a StEx oc! This is Hermes! He's a mail carriage! Mail freight? I couldn't find the exact term.

But it's very on the nose to what he is and what he does, he is the delivery boy! He takes packages and letters all over because that's what he loves, it's his hyperfixation. He's so hyperfixated that he will carry the supplies to write letters, or wrap up a package on him at all time. You need tape? He's got it! A stamp or two? Here you go! Paper for something? Plenty of it!

What can he do? Well apart from carrying everyone's packages, I imagine he could store a lot of stuff inside himself almost like the Tardis. Plus, like his name sake, he's really fast. As a joke, I like to imagine he's faster then then engines but not interested in racing himself. But, he does like to watch to see who is the fastest, cause he wants to couple up with the fastest! The faster the engine, the faster Hermes can make his deliveries.

I wouldn't recommend giving him sugar or caffeine... He's hyper enough as it is, don't want to make it worse. He Is also always fidgeting, if he can't roll about he's trying to do something crafty with his hands. Way too much energy he needs to burn off.

Finally his relationship with the others:

For the most part, he hangs out with the other Freights since that's basically his family he works with. Especially CB, those two are basically brothers with how similar they look.

The Rockies and Dustin don't seem to mind him, though Flattop does try to keep throwing bricks at him... Thankfully he misses.

Slick, Lumber, Porter and Hydra are at least chill with him, I think they use him most for long distance calls with other Freights in other yards.

Both Momma and Poppa find him a handful with his endless energy, but they also find it useful. If he doesn't have much work to do for post that day, he is very willing to help do any little job given.

With the Coaches, I would imagine he is treat much nicer than the other Freights since humans work with him more. They do remind him not to be dozy and be polite, but they love him since he is the one who brings them their packages to keep their carriages up to date.

The Components... It's a bit of a love and hate relationship. Despite Hermes being hyper, he is just the delivery guy, he doesn't get in their way. Like the coaches, they like that he brings the packages. Which brings us onto the hate part... The coaches I imagine live closer to the Freights, so they are more used to him just speeding along and *popping* out of nowhere. It always gives them a fright... Killerwatt and Krupp like him the least.

Now onto the Racers. Rusty growing up with the Freights, he knows about Hermes and probably enjoys his company, especially if he can get his help with work. Greaseball and Electra on the other hand... I don't think they even know Hermes exists, and if they did, they would be in for a shock.

I can't say how the trucks and the other Racers would get on with him, since I don't much about them. But I hope you enjoyed this little fact file on him!

stex month day five: electra!

favorite actors: jeffrey daniel, koffi missah, mykal rand, john partridge, leon maurice-jones, and lashane williams!

favorite songs/scenes: ac/dc is such a good song, i esp love the olc and update bochum versions where it sounds super off-kilter and kind of creepy. electra throwing a tantrum in no comeback/dinah's disco and getting wrecked in one rock n roll is so fun too! special shoutout to the gl kiss <3

favorite costumes: toothpaste electra with the super long mowhawk and liberal amounts of glitter is always peak, but i like the update costume a lot too! the wig especially, it's honestly mesmerizing to watch. also very fond of on-ice electra he is a banana

favorite ships/friendships: greasedlightning <333 their relatinoship would be such a disaster and i'm here for it. i also like the thought of electra trying to be besties with rusty by constantly inserting himself as a third wheel. also electra & flat top just based on backstage pics...electra brings him home to the components like look i found this stray on the side of the road :)

headcanons: he's the train equivalent of chronically ill! he's prone to random shut-downs (hence the 'unreliable' line) and has to rest a lot between races

unpopular opinion: the monochrome costume is good actually. i didn't like it at first but it grew on me a lot!
