I’ve been thinking about a tiny detail from SGA and whether anyone has written any fic about it.

At the end of the first episode of SGA season 5, Sam arrives back on earth for the extraction ceremony and a review of her first year on Atlantis, but is then told she’s being replaced by Woolsey and doesn’t return to Atlantis (as far as we know).

Presumably the rest of her things on Atlantis were shipped back to her at some point? In that case, I’ve always wondered who packed her office and quarters up. It seems like such a personal thing to do, even though military officers are expected to travel light.

I like to think that Sheppard (as 2IC) probably had to deal with it and asked Dr Keller to pack up Sam’s quarters because he felt uncomfortable doing it. As a result, Dr Keller sees the photo of Jack and realises who the mystery man in DC is 😀 It’s the kind of small detail than fanfic is made for.

stargate atlantis knocks it out of the park by having the lead character be literally just some guy. he was just oneill’s ride to base. a flying cab driver who basically immediately got sent to another galaxy to explore other worlds because he’s the specialest boy and the only one who can make intergalactic siri work. he doesn’t even know what a stargate is

listen, I know that Sam and Jack aren’t “officially” together

but consider this

Atlantis is canon and so is Sam being in command there for a year

all the things she brought with her are also canon

including this picture of Daniel

from the “Wedding” in 200

so if Atlantis is canon => Sam being there is canon => the things she brought with her are canon => this picture is canon => Sam and Jack’s wedding in 200 is also canon
