Okay quick question: why did in ripple effect they made it seem like daniel and janet were besties?? We have so many more scenes of sam and janet then daniel and janet.

Like yes I get that its because we had to fit martouf in and sam was really the only one who could be there to guide those scenes, and that denil was there when janet died so it hit him harder but you mean to tell me the only thing we got was a hug?! "Haha maternity leave" and a hug?!?!

So we dont get to see sam have any sort of negative emotions over killing martouf, or any relief of seeing janet alive and being able to hug her bestie another time? We get a half aborted kiss between sam and martouf while sam is supposedly in a relationship with jack?!

This episode was great, I liked seeing all the different sg teams, the room full of sams, the alternate sg team doing what it did. But like... I thought thered be more of an emotional impact?

Stargate SG-1 confession: I find the episode "Ripple Effect" to be mediocre at best. Does anyone really believe that Sam would spend her time with alt!Martouf when alt!Janet was right there??? The writers had no clue how to write friendship between women.

Parts of that episode definitely felt a bit all over the place. I found it odd that Sam almost kissed (or did kiss? It’s been a while) alt!Martouf. I know they had a deep connection because of Jolinar and whatnot, but these two didn’t actually know each other, and didn’t have that history. I totally agree that Sam should have spend more time with alt!Janet. Janet was her bff and Sam was devastated by her loss. I know I wouldn’t waste the opportunity to spend time with someone like that, given the chance. Parts of that episode definitely could have been written better.

Okay. Y'all know that one Stargate post that talks about how, in a way, every Stargate fanfic AU is canon because of that one episode in season 9? Well, I was thinking about my Stargate fanfic AU, and now I can't stop thinking about that episode, but with my AU thrown in there. Like, it wouldn't change the way the episode worked because it would just be my AU tossed into the already buzzing throng of SG1s, but regardless.

Just...I can't stop thinking about what Canon SG1's reaction would be to my AU SG1 that still has Jonas as a member. And like.....the fact that there were no other Jonas-es there at all. (I know I'm nowhere near the only one to make a Jonas stays AU. But this is me imagining my AU in the canon show, where we never see, or hear any mention of Jonas Quinn.)

I want to work my AU through the seasons of the show, changing things as I go, and maybe moving little things around as I need to. But when I tell you that this thought has taken over my brain, I'm not joking. I could go much more in depth about this. I'm not going to right now, of course. But I really could. (the only thing stopping me is a need for sleep. I have work in the morning lol)

I expected this Destiny 2 season/episode to make me want to rewatch The Expanse since Conductor!Maya Sundaresh and Chrisjen Avasarala share some interesting contrast/parallels. But actually all the alternate universe/timeline made me really nostalgic for Stargate SG1 & Atlantis, especially the episode Ripple Effect and all the other times there's an alternate reality version of a dead character.
