I  am  incredibly  fond  of  the  idea  of  them  having   movie   nights  to  relax  from  work  if  their  schedules  line  up.  Something  about  the  idea  of  them  both  just  kind  of  bundling  up  together  with   comfort   food    &     bad   horror   movies  to  help  them  make  light  of  them  given  all  they’ve  gone  through    &    seen    -    it’s  very  wholesome.  Plus  the  tenderness  of  just  existing  together    &    having  some  kind  of  peace  /  quiet  before  they’re  sent  out  to  deal  with  the  world  makes  me  weak.

getting so close with a survivor was never his intention,  but it’s not like michael cares for these teams the entity has set up.  he has never and will never follow Her rules,   try as she may to get him to bend to her will.  he slides away from jill and gets up off the bed,  wanting to put his clothes back on.  when she speaks and says that comment,  he immediately feels himself getting...  flustered?  is that it?  cheeks heat up and he glances over his shoulder,   looking at her in surprise and confusion.  she’s clearly much bolder and experienced than he is,  so he’s unsure of how to react.  he thinks jill is getting far too comfortable already...   but that’s his own fault,  isn’t it?

Chris let out a soft ‘oof’ when she threw herself into his arms without warning. “Hey, babe,” he greeted with a chuckle, “I was only gone for a couple of hours.” His hands rubbed up and down her back. Her hold tightened and he was happy to reciprocate the embrace. “Is everything okay...? Y’know I’m right here if you need me.”

He grins, smile wide  &  beaming, more than a little cheeky at the feeling of her hand brushing along his chin, along his jaw.

❝ So my unshaved face is sexy is it? I'll be sure to keep that in mind for the future. ❞

Arching a brow at Jill, eyes narrowing to a playfully knowing squint, he can't help but tease back with a laugh.

Mornings were bittersweet. One one hand  -  another day they'd managed to make it to, another day to enjoy. On the other... he'd never been much of a morning person, even now, he much preferred sleeping in as long as he could, catching up on any  &  all sleep he could before he had to get on with his own daily tasks or missions.

Enjoy the little moments while they lasted.  &  this was definitely one of them.

Seems like Jill was very much in the same boat, eyes pressed stubbornly shut as she turns, curling against his side with a grip like steel, only further solidifying his urge not to move. He's only a little too happy to comply, turning on his side, mindful of her limbs as he pulls her in closer, tucking her underneath his chin with a gruff, sleep addled hum.

With the last few dredges of fatigue working their way out of his system, he wills the budding yawn threatening to escape away. He feels slight shuffling after a few moments, prompting a snort of tired laughter as he draws back just enough to peer down at the woman.

                                                ❝ Mornin’ to you too. ❞

Her hand is warm against his skin, a rare moment of peace indulged further as he sinks into the tender touch with a softened gaze.  Palms shift, fingers bend to follow the curve of his face as thumbs splay to drag light patterns into the skin of his cheekbones, just below his eyes.

He leans further into Jill's gentle hands, a long sigh drifting past his lips as his eyes follow suit in a rare display of trust  &  ease. She continues, her movements slow  &  steady, just as soft as always as a quiet noise is heard. Drawing a grin to his lips, he has no doubts he probably looks dopey  -  peering back with such a butter soft look, probably an eerie sight given the scarceness it was normally seen, but he doesn't mind.

     Not if it's her.

When lazy but content hazel catch on her own sights, they stay in place as he raises his hands, one of them moving to curl atop the bend of her wrist  &  hand, mimicking the massaging motions a moment longer before he lightly tugs her hand away from his face. Chris' hand shifts up, smoothly winding itself in hers before guiding it in close to press a chaste kiss to the curved bump of her knuckles.
