Ironically I did not like The Last Jedi at all, but the fathiers caught my imagination because I will glom on to any fantasy horse-adjacent creature you put in front of me no matter how weirdly utilized or poorly thought out it is. I've been reworking their visual design a little to make them less uncanny valley cgi and make them into something that fills the same aesthetic/cultural niche as a fancy sport horse, but it also bothered me that they were all the same color and not at all designed like a domestic animal even though they pretty clearly are. I get why they didn't spend time and budget on coloring them all uniquely for the approximately five minutes of screentime they had, but it was a waste of potential and also there's no way an animal bred entirely by ostentatious rich people with too much money and time on their hands doesn't have a robust community of color breeders and dubiously ethical halter lines and the general kind of fuckery you see with any animal that's been kept by humans for a while.

I primarily based their genetics on horses, but I also borrowed some from goats and sheep, took the piebald patterns mainly from deer, and made some of it up entirely (though outside the alchemy stuff I tried to keep everything plausible and cohesive). There are also genes horses have that fathiers don't, so it's not a direct 1:1 in either direction. This also isn't a comprehensive list of Every Possible Color Fathiers Come In, but rather all the color genes that can interact with each other in various ways. You can probably create some absolutely batshit-looking animals with this chart as well as very understated, mundane ones.

At some point I'll expand further on the very specific headcanons about ancient Sith and the history of fathiers overall that tie into all this (most of it is rooted in Old Republic era EU stuff since I don't really touch the disney-verse outside of stealing their creatures and I'm mainly in the SWTOR corner of the fandom), but that's one for my lore/oc blog. You can probably extrapolate the important bits just from reading through the chart if it interests you.

A few more creatures! I might do more with all of these critters, honestly I have ideas going in overdrive at the moment and these are all so fun to do! But there were a lot of calls for a kybuck and the idea of a Kybuck’s Coffee logo hit me hard, hahaha, plus a couple of mentions of a fathier, and @queen-scribbles requested a very specific kitty pose! I imagine this manka lynx might be the logo for a day spa or a chiropractor...??

"... and that is the story of how the brave men and women of every species across the galaxy came together and ended the tyranny of the First Order." Rey took in a breath. That was a mouthful. Her three-year-old twins Jacen and Jaina sat on her lap, looking up her expectantly for more. Three years old, and already they were so inquisitive, so attuned to the Force. "Tell us more about Ben and Rey Solo, Master," piped up a young Twil'lek girl from Rey's audience of a dozen or so Force sensitive younglings. Her padawans. "Yeah, tell us!" urged another youngling. Rey smiled. "They married, took the Millennium Falcon for a honeymoon across the stars—" "Oooooh..." interjected the younglings. "–and settled on the sunny and green world of Modesta, where they started a family that would eventually include orphans from all over the galaxy." Rey looked at each of their wide-eyed, wonder-filled faces in turn. "There, they would teach them the ways of the Force." "That would be us," popped up the Twil'lek girl. "That would be you," confirmed Rey. "A new generation of Jedi." The younglings looked at each other  "Now... can anyone tell me the role of the Jedi?" asked Rey. "To protect the Light and maintain the balance of the Force," replied an older padawan named Temiri Blagg, who was freed from a life of servitude on Canto Bight thanks to Supreme Chancellor Organa's galaxy-wide slave labor reforms, along with a herd of fathiers that now roamed free throughout Modesta's vast open plains. The ring Rose had given him all those years ago glinted in the sunlight that filtered through the open windows of the temple. Though he was older now, he still never took it off. "And how do the Jedi maintain the balance?" asked Rey. "With lightsabers?" replied Dade, Finn’s young friend from Coruscant. He was still small, scrawny from the years spent just scraping by, but he’d shot up another several inches since Finn had brought him here. Rey knew Finn would be proud of him the next time he saw him. Rey chuckled at his answer. There was more to maintaining balance in the galaxy than just lightsabers, but they knew what time it was and she wasn't about to spoil their fun with more lecturing. "Precisely. Time for practice..."

I'm still trying to find a balance between the canon movie design and something I actually like the look/feel of without completely turning them into horsesand I think this veers a little close to the latter, but we're getting there. it'll be easier once I've got the 3D model rigged. right now my main refs are thoroughbreds and moose.

Hakora are a species of flying bird like reptile originating from the Niem********* system and home world, they come in a variety of warm colors, most common pale and dark green, but there have been some documented in mint colors, they have a wingspan of over 25 feet, with a body mass of 19 pounds, with hollow bones making them incredible light and agile while in flight, these elegant creatures tend to be very social but elusive creatures in the wild, though domesticated like a Bantha or Fathier these animals are quite wild and aggressive if not approached correctly, these animals share a common ancestor from the planet dur******.

Infants are about the same size as a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard or newborn Bantha, Babies are unidentifiable from gender until puberty where they display there parents characteristics.

Females are more robust than males and more heavily armored, this is for fighting over nesting grounds and territory.

Males have long elegant forward facing horns which are used for jousting rivals and any enemy, males are more agile in the air.

not much is known about how long they can live for but the inhabitants and elders of Neim****** believe they can live for 100s of years, some Elders believing them to be immortal and have a connection to varies religious beliefs on the planet.

(breaking mystery and cosplay here, this is a species for a story concept I have been working on since I was in 8th grade lol, probably gonna make a separate blog for this series, this story has taken a lot of time to make, I have a tone of concept art for it and concept story plots, and I found one that i am happy with, bringing some new ideas and feelings to the Star wars community, gonna take a while to cook since im already working on a project, but once im done with it ill work on this but for now heres a little teaser, this species is also free to use so if anyone wants to use it go ahead just ask for premission :) )

The second instalment of the third Star Wars trilogy devided fans with some thinking it was the best of the new trilogy and others completely hating it. It was the only outing written and directed by Rian Johnson. It continued the Saga of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega), Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), C-3PO (Anthony Daniels), R2-D2 (Jimmy Vee), Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), Yoda (Frank Oz), Snoke (Andy Serkis), Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong'o), Lt Connix (Billie Lourd), Admiral Ackbar (Tim Rose and Tom Kane), and BB8. The movie introduced to the franchise Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), Vice Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern), DJ (Benicio Del Toro), Commander D'Acy (Amanda Lawrence), porgs, fathiers, vulptex, and thala-sirens. While most of the action took place aboard First Order and Rebel Alliance ships, there were also events that took place at Canto Bite (on Cantonica), Crait, Ahch-To, and D'Qar. In this episode Kylo Ren murdered Emperor Snoke and took charge of the First Order. Luke Skywalker revealed why he went into self induced exile and reluctantly agreed to train Rey. Finn and Rose went on an unauthorized mission to try to save the Rebel fleet. Meanwhile, Poe butted heads with both Princess Leia and Vice Admiral Holdo. The movie ended with Luke Skywalker sacraficing himself to save Leia and what was left of the Rebellion. ("The Last Jedi" Star Wars Film Event)

Hell yeah, i love pet play, let’s goooo…

It’s a peaceful and cozy night, a rare one in which Luke can finally spend some quality time with you, having you all dressed in some pretty lingerie, cuddling up in his chest. A fine leather collar adorning your neck, with a chain leash firmly wrapped around his gloved hand, keeping you as close to him as he can, while both of you look at the holo-pad in front of your faces.

He had insisted in getting you some new things, even if you told him that you didn’t need anything. He literally doesn’t care, he has a lot of credits, and he will spend it on you, whether you feel like it or not. So it had been almost two hours since you both started looking at some websites, ordering every single thing that seemed to catch your eye.

Eventually, you grow bored of it, yawning and feeling your eyelids get heavier with each passing minute. But you don’t wanna sleep. Not yet.

“Luke?” you call him, gently tracing your fingers on his bare strong chest.

“Yeah?” he answers immediately, stopping whatever he’s doing in the holo-pad to put all of his attention on you.

“Can we get a fathier?”

“A what?”

“A fathier, you know, the animal” you say, your voice already tired, but doing your best to stay up.

Sometimes you still remember your old life. When you were a little girl, your parents used to take you to see fathier races, and you loved every second of it, admiring such beautiful animals, hoping to someday be able to have one of them. And now that Luke was so determined to waste a fortune on you, that idea popped again in your mind.

“Baby, we’re on a star destroyer, where would we even put it? those beasts are huge” he says, furrowing his brows, clearly not happy with the idea.

There’s no way he will let you have a big animal on the ship, Vader or Palpatine would kill him. Also, you are already like his pet, always requiring a lot of attention, and he doesn’t have the time to take care of another one.

“We can leave it in the hangar, i don’t know, pleaseeee” you pout, trying to convince him, hiding your face in the crook of his neck.

“No, we can’t” Luke shakes his head. “Now get some rest, ok? cause you clearly don’t think straight when you’re sleepy”

Of course you whine and protest about it, but he just holds you closer against him, tugging at your leash to add some pressure in your neck and make you quit that bratty behavior.

However, you can’t resist any longer, suddenly closing your eyes and falling asleep in his arms. A few minutes later, when he makes sure that you’re completely dozed off, he gently takes your collar off your neck, leaving it aside while he continues scrolling on the holo-pad, this time looking for some fathiers on sale.

Maybe he’s thinking about taking you away from there, to a nice planet far far away, free from war and the empire, where he can keep you -his precious little pet- living happily in a pretty farm, surrounded by nature and lots of land to have your own fathier, perhaps even a bantha too…
