I’m sure this point has already been made to death, but I think a major reason as to why more…darker “x reader” fics are so prevalent and popular in certain spaces is because simply put… “x reader” fics, and by extension fanfiction and just general fiction, are probably one of the more healthy and safer ways for many irl readers and writers to navigate through their fantasies and/or traumas. Many of us recognize that our fantasies would be harmful to do irl, so we project it (?) through fiction.

why is y/n always afraid of horror movies? why can’t we comfort them? why can’t the roles be reversed? or better yet, why can’t the character be a little bit put off by how into horror we are? where’s my strange and off putting y/n? wheres my y/n that has weird interests and/or is disgustingly education on them and has to physically collect everything about those said interests?

ik out of all critiques on the stereotypical y/n, (always white, fem or afab, etc) this is really just a personal preference more than anything and isn’t as bad but i’ve been reading x reader fanfic since i was like 11 (😃🔫) and the amount of times they haven’t been this jumpy “this is so scary, can you cuddle me and protect me from monsters?🥺” crybaby is maybe 3 times.

warning! long post about geto following the cut!

geto is such a tragic character because his downfall is born from his empathy. because he cared so much that seeing the ugliness of humanity made him fall apart. the star vessel mission truly ruined him and gojo and i will not say otherwise.

geto was someone we saw as being calm, kind, caring--he checked in on gojo and was usually the one making plans, using clear insight. he was an anchor, he was a foundation. 

and then the events of star vessel happens and when gojo is like “i think i could kill them and not feel a thing.” geto promptly says NO. there’s no meaning in that. but fast forward a year later, after he consumes and consumes and consumes all those cursed spirits - now he’s like “yes, they should die. because why should they live? why should i care for people who do not care for me in return?”

i wonder how much of this thought process is amplified by the continuous consumption of cursed energy. which is raw and concentrated negative energy. geto consumed sO MUCH OF IT. and yes, he can manipulate it. but there is something personal and intimate about eating something. it becomes a part of you. it nourishes you. it’s INSIDE of you. who’s to say that eating all those negative manifestations of the worst of humanity wasn’t literally corroding geto from the inside out and that star vessel just sped up the process. because for the year gojo and geto were apart, geto kept consuming. 

and that’s another thing - their separation.

it’s clear these men were trying to cope with failing and nearly dying and also the callous way the non-shamans reacted to the death of riko. gojo became strong but isolated, making his powers on automatic so he could repel and attract whatever he wanted. that’s important because we literally see gojo say “i will not die again, i won’t die again - i won’t fail again, i’ll be so strong nothing can touch me unless i say so.” he does that. 

in the same time geto is alone and that, is tragedy in motion, because alone he is with his thoughts and working things out and he can’t talk to gojo about it - he can’t talk to anyone really but in particular, he can’t talk to gojo because gojo is now the strongest, and gojo is on his own, and if he were to share these thoughts, would they make him weak? unreliable? not strong? would he wear gojo down with this? 

just a thought. 

and who knows, if they were together during this period where they were both falling apart in their own ways, they could have come to the same conclusion together - that humanity needs to go. 

or they could have saved each other. gojo telling geto this isn’t right, you told me yourself we shouldn’t kill. your purpose is good - to rid the world of curses - but not like this. let’s find a solution together. 

and geto telling gojo i am my consumption, of negativity - of raw anger, of grief, of pain, of suffering, of hate. humanity’s sins sit in my stomach, and i can no longer stand it. but with you, the taste is bearable. with you, i can try.

already had a suspicion that he’s an incarnated sorcerer because of his jujutsu knowledge, the usage of HWB and the fact that he knows kenjaku’s name. but this fully confirmed it ig

I would love to see the reveal that kenjaku and tengen were working together all along it would be so funny. Sadly it's unlikely to happen

Jujutsu society should never be ruled by Gojou. He will be a weak and deficient leader. His sense of justice is faulty, as we have seen in the Getou debacle. Getou should have never been allowed to run rampage that long of a time. A leader needs to be responsabile, empathic and able to make sacrifices. A leader thinks about the good of the people. If he is incapable of that then he should not be a leader. Killing the old sorcerers will not resolve the multiple issues around superiority and pride in the jujutsu world. Too much and too late. That ideology is integrated in them. There needs to be consequences and a radical change. Gojou is incapable of being that leader since he is still lost in his own issues around loneliness and hubris. His battle against Sukuna is proof enough. He will not have my vote.
