Toki Pona | Prolangs

Toki Pona is a character based off of a constructed language of the same name. So, to make this less confusing. Toki Pona = the character toki pona = the language

•the simple design of just two colors, a basic yet expressive mouth, the use of simple shapes and lines, and arms hidden under their clothing do a great job of reflecting toki pona’s emphasis on minimalism as a conlang onto Toki Pona’s character design.

•The little lines on Toki Pona’s hat don’t just make Toki Pona’s character more recognizable, but (to me) look like “emitters” which are a type of radical that make up some toki pona logograms, further linking Toki Pona as a character to toki pona as a conlang.

•also, the hat and scarf are just really cool and the symbol on Toki Pona’s chest is cute but also says the words “toki pona”.

Why You Should Vote For Taliyah In The Pink Mahou Poll

I present to you: my daughter

For those who weren't there to put up with my incessant Star Guardian posting during the Star Guardian event of 2022, Taliyah is a League of Legends character who has a skin in the Star Guardian skin line, which is a magical girl au. Regular Taliyah and Star Guardian Taliyah are characters in different universes, but regular Taliyah is the base character so context about her is important!

Taliyah was released in 2016, and she was a unique addition to the champion roster as one of the very few female characters to have distinct facial features. She's a mage with the title of 'stoneweaver' as her powers allow her to essentially be an earthbender (to my understanding, I've never watched ATLA) and she makes rocky waves which she surfs along! She's a kind and caring person who values community and protecting those you call family. She's a teenager in the game and her lore on release, but by the time of the most recent story she's been in, she's in her early twenties.

The writers and artists at Riot who designed Taliyah originally intended for her to be trans. But this was before Riot started allowing their characters to be canonically queer (they've got a handful of gay champs now but still no trans champions), so it did not happen. Since then, there's been a lot of little hints here and there for queer people to pick up on, and she feels very trans coded.

Which Brings me to Star Guardian Taliyah! Star Guardians are a skin line in the game that was popular enough to get some story content.

I have a long comprehensive guide to Star Guardian media here that I made during the most recent Star Guardian event! Read it if you might have an interest in Star Guardians, but it's not needed to appreciate Taliyah.

Taliyah in this universe is a teenage magical girl who is shy and meek at school, but when transformed she finds confidence within herself. She feels more like herself in her magical outfit than she does without it, and her storyline is about finding how to discover and express her true self.

She's also a nerd who likes going to maid cafes and is a very competitive gamer!

During the event, Riot released a playlist in collaboration with various artists, with Star Guardian Taliyah being the face of it. Put it on in the background sometime if you like chill, cute study music and that sort of stuff. More Importantly, Taliyah is animated through the whole video (along with Star Nemesis Fiddlesticks) and she does a cute little dance. Please look at her dance.

In conclusion:

Pros of voting for Taliyah:

Every vote for Taliyah is a vote for trans rights

She is literally the cutest

It would make me very happy if she made it through even a single round <3

Cons of voting for Taliyah:

League of Legends sucks - yeah I can't argue with that, but consider that she is too good to be confined by the toxic game, and the actual artists behind her creation care a whole lot about her!

Stuck at work rn, but I'm scratching my brain over SG!Yzl

Before SG 2022 released, I had her pinned as an outer Guardian like Syndra and Nilah.

But after the event was over and we had some lore on Fiddlesticks... I really think Yzl would be a Nemesis--a Star Guardian that has fallen into the deepest depths of dispair and hatred.

But that also makes me wonder: What seperates Nemesis from Corrupted Star Guardians (Zoe, Rakan, Xayah, and also arguably Syndra and Akali)?

Well, personally.... I think Nemesis are devoid of "hope", the very thing the First Star stands for.

Out of all the Corrupted, Zoe and Syndra might be the hardest to identify "hope" in. But they also don't seem to outright hate the Guardians the same way Morgana does. They're not keen on Morgana's plan to spiral the universe into entropy.

On the flip-side. Rakan and Xayah, as well as Akali, are the easiest to see hope in. Both groups anchor themselves to another and rely on them to keep them stable.

Xayah and Rakan rely on eachother (Xayah fights for Rakan, and Rakan wants to save Xayah from her hatred towards Ahri).

Akali grounds herself on the promise she and Kai'sa made. They're best friends, and neither of them want to lose that to Morgana's plans.

But back to Yzl. Based on everything my brain has spit at yall, why would I say Yzl would be a Nemesis? Why not just a Corrupted?

Well, I really think Yzl would lose hope. She would realize The Oath is founded on empty promises and unavoidable sacrifice. While she gained the power to protect those close to her, she would eventually realize there is no happy end.

Her friends and everything she vowed to protect was gone. What now? What purpose did she have? None. She no longer had purpose in the eyes of the First Star--her oath was broken.

But she did not turn herself over to malice as Morgana did. Many saw Yzl as the enemy--a being that appeared and scattered the light of many Star Guardians.

But her goal wasnt of malice. Her means were cruel, but her goal was something she wished she could achieve herself.

Yzl wishes to believe there is still hope, somewhere, for this dying universe. So she challenges Star Guardians, testing their resolve. Testing their willingness to go the extra mile for the oath. For eachother. For the hope that binds them together.

She did not want a repeat of her own fate. She didn't want any more dispair.
