Happy ten years to Defiance! I do not have the words to adequately describe my emotions about this show. But it meant a lot to me and it sure feels like I blinked and the past decade has come and gone!

Happy 10 years to Defiance!

This wonderful show gave me endless joy and I miss it so much. Stahma and Datak remain two of my favorite characters ever made. They were such messy, lovable people, watching them create chaos was so fun. I ship the hell out of them because they’re both so awful they deserve each other. 

Doc Yewll is another character I love. She was full of sass and absolutely hilarious. I choose to believe she was just fine at the end. 

Alak, Amanda, Christie, Tommy, and Irisa also earned my love for being such fantastic characters. 

I like to think from time to time about a fourth season. Seeing what else they could have come up with lives rent free in my head. Still feel like we needed more flashbacks to the start of the town and to witness Stahma shove her betrothed out of the air lock. 

The show may be over but I’ll always remember the great times I had watching every week, waiting impatiently for the new season to start, and worrying about Datak & Stahma’s survival. They made it to the end! 

I still haven’t completely forgiven Syfy for cancelling it. Three seasons was not enough to explore the rich universe this show had. 

I love this show so much! I am so grateful for all the hard work the writers and actors put in to make this show so amazing. ❤️

the scene in the second last episode where she’s basically injured to the point of unconsciousness but still manages to crawl along the floor and get to the bench so she can hide the baby toy so kindsy doesnt know about him means so much to me

//I don’t think you can classify Stahma as an “evil” character.

Yes, she’s manipulative and yes, she lies, but she only does the things she does to protect her son.

Even when what she’s doing is technically for Datak, it’s still for Alak, because Datak’s success determines Alak’s future.

And the only times she’s spoken back to Datak or gone against him were when Alak was involved (Christie’s happiness determines his, after all, and Stahma making the Old World veil didn’t even have any other motive but to make her happy).

Stahma Tarr goes against her husband and her entire society for her son, and she’ll grab all the power and stability she possibly can for him, no matter what means she needs to use to get it.

She isn’t evil, she just loves and worries for her son to the point that it warps her morals.
