A tribute to articulated 1990s Stacie

This articulated Stacie from the 1990s was a thrift store find around Christmas 2014, when my parents and I went on a tour of all major thrift stores in East Bay, and it was epic. I'd been wanting an articulated Stacie at that time, and it was Dad who found her. I sewed her dress for Easter 2015.

While I think I found a Whitney of my own later, this one is from Mom's collection because she was in better shape.

Kelly is also from Mom's collection. Kelly was going to leave us, but then I started getting more into 4" dolls and decided that one Kelly was not excessive.

While Stacie has worn the same dress for 8 years, my krowd of Kid Kore Katies is growing at ridiculous rates.

Here are the articulated gals with the first of the Katies, the Katie that was the camel's nose under the tent. I'm up to four Katies and honestly a lot more excited about 1990s clones these days. If I move on from Stacies, I'd have an opening for a redheaded Katie to go with redheaded Kelsey, as well as for a Creata Today's Girl adolescent.

Everyday prompts

I found some sweet prompts and thought I would write them for Hangman, Bob, Phoenix and Rooster so enjoy!

“You’re cute when you get angry.” -Hangman 

The Hard Deck was filled with people, which was usual on a Friday night but tonight a whole group of aviators seemed to make even more noise. Your friends had been talking about them all night long, how handsome they were and how they could approach them. 

“Alright, maybe if you fall and one of them helps you!”, Stacy says with a mischievous grin, and you couldn’t help but laugh at the idea of Lucy falling on purpose but also at the glare the girl in question was sending Stacy.

“Right, let me fall straight on my face and embarrass myself.”, she says sarcastically, and you laugh again as the image appears in your mind, but you try to stop as Lucy glares at you, a small smile on her lips.

You groan as you hear ‘Slow Ride’ being chosen again as a song and you roll your eyes.

“I am seriously going to murder the person who keeps putting that song on.”, you mumble under your breath and the two others laugh at your words.

“Don’t worry I know somewhere to hide the body.”, Lucy says while smirking.

“I watched every single episode of How to get away with murder so I’m a pro, could become your lawyer.”, the two-start planning how to hide the body, and how cutting up the body wasn’t the right idea.

“It’s good to know that you two are ready to do this, but I’m just going to change the song.”, you say, and the two girls groan in disappointment but matching grins on their lips tell you that they are glad to hear something else. 

The jukebox is close to the pool table, and you don’t see the gaze of a handsome pilot on you as you arrive next to it.

You hesitate for a moment at what song to choose before you feel someone sliding up next to you.

“I would choose Slow Ride if I were you.”, a voice tells you and you turn around to see a blond man looking at you with a cocky grin. You snort at his words, and he looks at you slightly surprised before a smirk appears.

“Please that song is a pain to everyone.”, you get ready to try and hit the button for the next song but before you are able to the blonde’s hand pushes the button for Slow Ride making you look at him with wide eyes.

“Seriously? Is listening to it ten times not enough already?”, you say, feeling irritated, more at the fact that this man was incredibly handsome with his cocky grin.

“You’re cute when you get angry.”, he whispers, a seductive tone in his voice and he slowly approaches you making you blush, and you feel your back hitting against the jukebox. You try to find an answer but aren’t able to and the man’s smirks widens.

“What’s your name darling?”, the way he says the pet name makes you shiver, the southern accent definitely making you blush and slightly aroused. 

“Put on another song and I’ll tell you.”, you tell him, and the man looks at you for a moment before he moves his arms on either side of you, trapping you against the jukebox and his strong body.

You are ready to ask what he thinks he’s doing but then you hear a Whitney Houston song, the one you had been eyeing. You can’t help but look at him surprised and his smirks widens.

“So, what’s your name.”, he asks again, and you tell him after a moment, and he seems pleased as you do.

“Pretty name for a pretty girl.”, even though you are definitely blushing at the words you can’t help but snort.

“You tell this to every girl cowboy?”, this makes him chuckle softly and you don’t how this man makes everything attractive.

“Only to the ones that deserve it.”, he says while looking you up and down and coming closer to you.

“And sweetheart, you definitely do.”, he whispers, and you look into his green eyes making your heart flutter.

“And what is your name?”, you ask, your voice slightly uneven at having him so close to you.

“Jake.”, he says, and you nod slowly, looking at him for a moment.

“So, what do you say of getting out of here and letting me buy you something to eat?”, his words caught you off guard, but you can’t help but nod at his words.

“Let me say goodnight to my friends and we can go.”, he nods in answer and a smile is on his lips.

Stacy and Lucy are squealing as you arrive, and you barely have time to tell them what is happening that they are pushing you outside to join him.

“Use protection!”, Lucy yells and you feel yourself getting beet red as the two giggle and Jake is smirking at them, before putting a soft hand on your back and leading you out.

Years later you hear Slow Ride again but this time you can’t help but laugh as your husband looks at you with a smirk and brings you into a searing kiss.

Person A and Person B getting sidetracked while grocery shopping – Bob

“Alright, Costco! We have our list, everything should go fine.”, you tell Bob, and he nods in answer looking at the shop entrance with a confident look.

“We survived the uranium mission, we can survive Costco.”, he tells you confidently and you nod in answer. 

“Let’s do this!”, the two of you enter Costco and you try to focus on what you need, and not look at the rest around you.

You have nearly everything, the two of you smiling victoriously before a high-pitched voice stops you.

“Hi! Would you like to taste the new meatballs we have?”, she has a plate full of meatballs and the two of you try to say no but she pushes them under your noses and the delicious smell makes the two of you give in. 

“This is good.”, you can’t help but say and the woman nods happily, Bob takes a pack of them, and you thank her.

“Alright just one time, that’s not too bad.”, you tell him and Bob nods in reassurance, looking around scared that someone was going to come out of nowhere. 

You arrive near the cash register, and you think that you have done it until you see a woman arriving towards you with a plate.

“Do we run?”, Bob whispers, panicking and you nod slowly but as you turn around you see a man with a plate and the two of you groan.

“This is not going to work out for us, isn’t it?”, Bob asks, and you shake your head.

“We’ve lost this battle Lieutenant, but at least we can eat.”, this makes Bob laugh and bring you closer for a sweet kiss.

“So, what do you say we try these samples and then go and get a slice of pizza?”, he tells you and you can’t help but smile at the words.

“You read my mind.”, the two of you grin widely before starting to walk towards one of the people trying to look innocent before taking some food. 

And if the two of you ended up with a lot more groceries, then you had to, you can’t help but smile as you are able to enjoy some time together.

Person A watching Person B teach their kid a new skill. – Rooster

It had been a long day at work, people running everywhere and acting like they knew everything better then everyone. You felt ready to fall asleep on your couch but as you had a two years old so it was going to be a bit more complicated.

The house was quiet as you entered it which was weird because usually Rooster was already home with Nick. 

“Brad? I’m home.”, you say but you get no response, maybe they went to the park together, which makes it possible for you to take a warm shower.

As you walk up the stairs you hear some laughter from the office in the house and you hear some piano notes being played.

“Careful, now you need to do this.”, Nick is on Bradley’s lap, facing the piano while his father shows him how to play a melody on it. 

He follows his father’s movement with his eyes and Bradley holds him close to his chest with his other hand.

“Alright, now your turn.”, Bradley whispers and Nick brings his little hand to the piano, trying to do the same thing as his father, but due to his smaller hands he seems to struggle.

A pout can be seen on his lips, looking like his father when he does that before Bradley laughs softly.

“Don’t worry you’ll get it, let’s try again.”, Nick nods slowly before trying it again, this time with Bradley’s help and you can’t help but melt at the sight of them.

After a minute or two he seems to get it and a bright smile appears on his lips before letting out a happy squeal, making Bradley laugh.

“You did it, so proud of you.”, you hear him murmur against Nick’s hair as he drops a few kisses on his hair before bringing him closer.

“Alright, why don’t we learn a little more so that we can show it to mum later?”, this makes Nick look at his father with excitement in his eyes and you can’t help but feel your heart melt at the sight before Nick turns back to the piano keys. 

You close the door softly, knowing that the two of them needed some time just the two of them before they were ready to show you what they had prepared. In the meantime, a hot shower sounded nice.

Person A patching up Person B’s wounds. – Phoenix

“You don’t need to do that you know?”, Phoenix whispers softly and you look at her with raised eyebrows before dabbing her cut with some alcohol.

“I know, but I like to take care of you.”, you whisper and Phoenix blushes at your words, a shy smile appearing.

“Well, I have to admit that I like it more when you patch me up then the nurse.”, this makes you giggle, and she smiles brighter.

“Next time I’ll put a nurse outfit on if you want.”, Phoenix eyes widens, and you smirk at her reaction.

“Please do that.”, she tells you breathless and you can’t help but laugh at her excitement.

“I’ll do it next time, although I would prefer not to have to patch you up anymore.”, you say to her softly, knowing that she was in a career that was more dangerous than others. Her smile is understanding as you put on the band aid and kiss it softly.

“There you go, all new.”, you tell her happily and she smiles brightly.

“You can always just wear the outfit even if I’m not hurt.”, she says with a smirk, and you look at her with raised eyebrows.

“I shouldn’t have started about it, huh?”, she shakes her head and smirks before bringing you closer.

“I’ll order it for you.”, she gives you a quick kiss before you can even say anything, too much in shock.

“W-wait Nat!”, but she is already giggling at her computer, taking it away as you try to take it from her and she runs through the house, with you behind her while she orders it. 

Once you finally manage to catch her you are out of breath, and a winning grin is on her lips as she looks at you above her. 

“I have Amazon Prime it will be here in two days.”, she whispers happily, and you shake your head in amusement, a fond look in your eyes.

“You are impossible once you get your mind on something.”, you whisper softly before bringing her into a heated kiss. 

The nurse outfit does arrive two days later which makes Phoenix laugh loudly when you open it up.

Happy June 21st, it's Go Skateboarding Day!

A yearly event to promote skateboarding and to encourage the accessibility of skateboarding -- oh, heck. You're here to see the Barbies.

Barbie's younger sister Stacie, conceived as a more tomboyish and athletic member of the Roberts family, was skateboarding back in 1999 with Awesome Skateboard Barbie. Her friends Whitney and Janet could join her too.

But skateboarding isn't just for kids, is it? Barbie herself can get in on the sport.

That was true at least from 2001 onwards, with Coca Cola Skateboard Fun.

Actually there might be an earlier one -- I'm not 100% sure. This was the earliest one I could find for definite, but I feel like I must be wrong because surely there was an earlier one?

As the years go on, Barbie has been skateboarding more and more, including at the Tokyo Olympics.

Okay, the Made to Move skateboarding Barbie is a little less popular because of the raw power of her skateboarding, and more because all made to move dolls are extremely popular among people who want to rebody other dolls onto these more dynamic bodies.

Leo Women Bisexual

This is just my own observation but hear me out… I have notice that Leo women strictly sun signs are into women and tend to keep on the low. I’ve seen them date their friends or be sexual but won’t necessarily claim the tidal as lesbians. Almost like it’s just for fun not to be taken seriously

Examples:

Whitney Houston- her mom and everyone close to her confirm that her and Robyn Crawford had a intimate relationship. Since being bestfriends at 17. Robyn stated in her interview Whitney broke it off because of morals and judgment but they loved eachother deeply.

Kylie Jenner - though Kylie has not came out as bisexual. I have seen so many videos of her with her bestifriends. They like to “play kiss and touch each other” the fact that Kylie admits Jordan and Stacie lived with her most of the time. The intimate beach or pool pictures. It just seems like they are closer than friends.

Taylor swift - was rumored to have dated Karlie Kloss for awhile. Karlie is the Leo ♌️

Cara Delevinge - one of the most beautiful women😍 I know she’s dated women

Madonna - many speculations of her being bisexual. Plenty of pictures of her kissing other women I believe she recently just spoke about last year.

Demi lovato - admitted she’s dated women but I’ve never seen it! Lol

Along with Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lawrence had been rumored of being bisexual.

Personal experience. I remember I was at a bar with just one of my friends. We saw a group of girls walk in and sit across from us. The most intimidating one was staring me down and eventually just paid for my shot at the bar. I didn’t know who she was but she was well known in my city. Mind you this was a bar/dance club so I was wearing tight dress and the girl who bought my drink had a see through body suit on. She was like 4 inches taller than man. Very pretty and feminine. Nice body. As we all having a good time and dancing. I remember her grabbing my waste and asking if I had a boyfriend lol . Long story short we become friends on social media…. We were both “influencers” it’s clear she’s into girls but she doesn’t really portray that. Almost like it’s just for fun. She wants to be cuffed by a man still. I found out she was Leo lol I met another Leo girl very nice and pretty and after a while she started calling me “baby “ and “sexy” lol. I don’t mind it at all. I just noticed this, any thoughts?

Beautiful work by photographer, Stacy Greene. the series is looking at physical differences of the way women use lipstick. I love the imprints they all leave, it begs questions about who they are as the titles offer no descriptions, just the name of the woman the lipsticks belong to. You wonder about their personalities, what they're like, what made them start using lipstick in that way, what does the lipstick look like on them? I love its anonymity. I could maybe use a similar concept with my idea, make it anonymous, implying it's about all women at once.

Jonathan Hartwig, 47, of Castle Creek, a Loving and Gentle husband and Father, passed away December 18, 2023 at Wilson Hospital after a courageous battle with health issues.

Jon is predeceased by two infant sisters. He is survived by his wife Susan (Kingston) Hartwig and four precious children, Caleb, Jared, Kaelyn and Austen. He is also survived by his parents, Alfred “Al” and Grace Hartwig. As well as seven siblings, Grace Ann (Matthew) Peachman, Rachel Lee (Phillippe) Bergeron, Sarah Lynne, James (Naomi), Benjamin (Stacy), Daniel (Tiffany), Mark (Kristi). 34 Aunts and Uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jonathan began his journey of life in Indian Lake, NY.

As a child, he came to understand the Gospel and believed Jesus as his Savior under the teaching of his father and the ministry of Evangelist Peter Accardi, later becoming a member, upon believer’s baptism of the Independent Baptist Church of Indian Lake. Jonathan always desired to faithfully serve the Lord in various capacities in his local church. He attended the Indian Lake Central School, graduating valedictorian. His college training took him to Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC for his pre-med degree.

A further RN degree was gained from Binghamton University. His career began in nursing home care, then Home Health Care case managing with United Health Services. Ever learning and caring for people, he chose to become a Triage Nurse for a UHS Cardiac Care group of doctors. His later years have been spent in the United Health Services Wilson Hospital. His most recent position was Night Supervisor for the whole hospital.

His consistent testimony and penchant for teaching, communicating and leading others was his investment in their lives, along with his skills with patients, will be missed by many. Jonathan finished his journey with deteriorating health quickly in his earthly body, to heaven, where God had been preparing his new home. “Dad, we are builders,” he reminded his father a week before his “door” opened in that new place. Ours is faith and hope in God. He leaves his family in a home which began as a “fixer-upper” but was transformed into a lovely place where his wife, Susan and children may dwell for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Friday, December 22,2023 at Point Bible Church 2938 US-11 Whitney Point, New York 13862. Friends may call from 10:00am until the time of service at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nicholsfuneral.com.

I discovered this project online a while ago and I think it’s one of my most favourite photo series I’ve ever seen.

Clones for the Novi Stars Renaissance

Now that everyone knows you can get (probably) genuine Novi Stars on AliExpress, and one of the Rainbow High characters is even canonically a Novi Stars fan, it's time. It's time for clones. These are apparently from 2018, a year when everyone who was able to buy a Novi Stars on close-out had done so. But these girls were lying in wait, preparing to make their move!

If these show up in stores, I'll be tempted to pick up the seafoam green one as an alien friend for Stacie, Whitney, Katie, Hilary, and Rosa. Alas, I can't just click the Alibaba listing, as I don't need 10 of these!

after almost 6 years, how does it feel having the series come to an end soon?

it’s surreal. even though i’ve only been on since season 3, it’s felt like longer.

if you could play any other character on stranger things, who would it be?

nancy wheeler. i actually auditioned for that part, and i got it, but then i got pregnant with the twins and i had to drop out, and apparently the duffers i guess decided to keep me on hold.

what’s a role people would be surprised to hear you auditioned for?

natasha romanoff. it was between scarlett johannson and me and she got it, and she’s an amazing black widow.

if you were to ask me this a year and a half ago, i would’ve said no, but ever since andrew exposed his management, got out of his pr relationship, and started dating someone and we’ve made up and co-parent now, yes. yes i would. and i am not in the movie. and i have no idea.

what are your dressing room must haves?

twizzlers

nat: it’s quite funny. we were filming and she had twizzlers in her pocket and just ate one and the duffers kept it in. and since then you’ll just see her eat twizzlers.

jk: she’s very possessive over them. in the scene where i reach to eat one, and she slaps my hand away, that wasn’t scripted and they kept it in.

yeah. i forgot that i had put them in there the day before. i also eat them in every show that i’ve been in.

where do you think your characters would be in 2022?

married. kids. hawkins is safe.

Last Movie: hmmm I think it was The Santa Clause movie but I might be getting it mixed up with the Santa Clauses show my family binged together. Either that or Home Alone, I can’t remember the exact timeline of events, this holiday season was a bit crazy lol Currently Reading: Recently I read the original Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T.A. Hoffman (English translation) and it. is. a. TRIP let me tell you. I got lots of ironic enjoyment out of it and found it both highly amusing and more than slightly disturbing but in an entertaining way. The author wrote it with no small amount of satire and doesn’t take it too seriously - and neither should you. It’s a very interesting and unique writing style and I love it. The only other book I can think to compare it to, writing style-wise, is The Princess Bride (book) by William Goldman. I just started reading Ain’t Misbehavin’ by Jennifer Lamont Leo. I got it for Christmas ;-) Oh and Genesis for the Bible

Currently Watching: haha… a mix of stuff. Hermitcraft - Grian and Scar regularly, with many other Hermits pitched in that vary week to week. Plus Mumbo’s not-hermitcraft videos, lol Empires S2 - Jimmy’s episodes and a few of False’s. Sermons - found on youtube/rumble/other by churches I like to keep up with. As far as actual shows go, I have a longer list of Want-to-Watch than Actually-Watching lol. A lot of the shows on my Want-to-Watch have already ended. Bluey and Sonic Prime are the only shows currently airing new episodes (a show that hasn’t ended but is on hiatus that I watch is The Mandalorian).

Currently Consuming: Tea as well! Though my default tea is iced sweet tea (black tea we keep in the fridge. It’s like, 90% of my fluid intake lol). Of course make it with only a half cup of sugar per gallon of tea, because I don’t like it super sweet. I do love a wide variety of teas though…

Currently Craving: Mint chocolate chip ice cream ;-)

3 ships: Hmm, I'm not much of a shipper. BUT Faramir and Eowyn make me long for romance like not much else can. I ship them :). Meg and Calvin from A Wrinkle in Time are sweet. And...oh goshawk. Maybe Anne and Gilbert from Anne of Green Gables. I liked how they're still very in love in the later books despite lots of sorrow and Life Things Happening.

Last song: Currently listening to an FFH album so it's Open Up the Sky (but my favorite in that album is One of These Days).

Last movie: Little Women (1994). Watched it last week with my sisters!

Currently reading: Just finished listening to A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle and started Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis. The Space Trilogy was a gift last birthday and it's been sitting on my shelf for almost a year, so I'm very excited to begin. So far it's fun, and reminding me of just How Good a writer Lewis actually is.

Currently watching: No shows, but if I were YouTubing it would be Smarter Every Day videos.

Currently consuming: Tea! Decaf ceylon, very strong--not my usual choice of tea, but it came as a sample with other tea I ordered for Christmas presents and it is Quite Lovely.

Currently craving: sushi! I want to make it again sometime soon.
