Per my usual drawing shenanigans of starting with a warm up until it becomes a coloured sketch. I also wanted to drow a younger Jysyr before her face scar was a thing.

I'm like half asleep writing this but I need to give this a deep think NEOW.

Starting off with Sussu'ri for current timeline rules I impose on myself: her years of druid study with her mentor and later on, by her own, has taught her to be capable in cooking but only in self preservation. Cooking for a group? That's sooo hard for her. If she's home in Neverwinter, she'd rather go get takeout lmao. However, she does love making desserts! So she'll probably bring her home made Neverwintan baked desserts or something she learned from Oratina.

Jys'yr: a potluck? What the hell sure. Here's crates full of fruit. You're welcome. [Jys'yr before conversion: a potluck? Wth sure. Here's something nabbed from the stalls in the streets before I arrived here]

Sinolu would definitely cooked some drow recipe that originated from Menzo but now it's a bit different, making it an Imberlur special. Kind of like how a dish can have varieties. Don't ask for specifics because I have no clue on drow cuisine lore lmao. Real life tho, I can see her bring the carbs like noodles or rice. Something that's really filling. Also Imberlur drow being a very communal society, everyday is a potluck in a sense lol.

Sszyl: a potluck? What the hell sure. Here's a crate full of booze. You're welcome.

Oratina: refer to Sussu'ri but for ranger reasons lmao.

Golkic: the second person who brings a filling, main course sort of dish. Not cooked by him tho, he's definitely bringing something he bought from restaurants or whatever the d&d equivalent is to those establishments.

Saroja: the person who brings the bag of ice lmao. They can definitely cook but knows there's gonna soooo much food to finish you guys...

What does your OC bring to the Potluck and what was their logic and reason behind doing so.

Introducing my Tragedy Trio: (From upper left) Jys'yr, Ss'zyl and Sinolu.

Jys'yr most likely served a noble house in Menzoberranzan (high level Fighter, Soldier background) but as Drow Backstabbing tradition is the norm, was framed over something that has her on a hit list.

On The Fence (he dgaf about Gods but has links with thieve guilds, many such cases) Vhaeraunan Ss'zyl is your average Rogue who covers his tracks by being pretty and loves sticking his ears into places where most nobles want (pay) him to be.

Sinolu of Imberlur (Cleric of Eilistraee, Acolyte) is a third generation Imberlur Drow. Her grandparents escaped the Underdark centuries ago and are devout followers of the Lady of the Dance. Her heart is at the right place but is naive on the ways of the world thanks to her sheltered upbringing.

By all accounts these three would've never met under normal circumstances but fate had other plans... (aka my imaginative head is trying to make a story revolving around these three fleeing Menzo together. Timeline is very vague because I need to keep up with Forgotten Realms events like Spellplague, Second Sundering etc etc)

First post on tumblr for 2025! Featuring my Drow rogue OC Ss'zyl <3 He was created from another original drow character I made for my Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough.

On the left: Tragedy Trio pre escape Menzo! On the right: The surface dwellers that got tied up in their Drow Political Shenanigans at the time! (circa probably late 1200s DR? Your guess is as good as mine)

Top right is Oratina, a halfling ranger who was tasked to find Golkic, a deep gnome artificer that had gone missing during a trip to the Upperdark. Accompanying Oratina is her wood elf druid friend Saroja, concerned with her friend's wellbeing after finding out Golkic's disappearance might be linked to the Drow...

Trust that I will make proper character sheets one day! Anyways can you believe all these characters were born from me obsessing on the first character/tav I ever made for Baldur's Gate 3? And now I'm hyperfixated on the Forgotten Realms and Drow lore.

My Tragedy Trio's story is pretty much set in stone so until I draw/write their story in full, might as well share them during their more happier times.

After their escape from Menzoberranzan, they adventured for a bit before settling together in Imberlur. They didn't commit their relationship like the traditional monogamous marriage but were fully loyal to each other. (Though Ss'zyl and Jys'yr was not romantic in nature, shared in their mutual affection for Sinolu)

Whenever Jysyr thinks about something funny, her smile is... yeah... LMAO. (She can smile earnestly but never on command. Never ask her to smile for portraits)

💔 BROKEN HEART — what are three of your oc’s negative traits?

I'm really bad at putting down a list when it comes to character traits so I'm just. Gonna yap it all out:

One thing for sure is Sinolu is super stubborn in her beliefs. She's kind and empathetic because she Stubbornly Believes in doing good for the sake of being good. She's stubborn in the way that she was raised to believe in kindness and all that jazz. So when it comes to the politics of Imberlur and their society, she's steadfast in her ideals to a fault; that all Drow regardless of genders and background should have a chance in serving Eilistraee to the highest degree. (its really how she wants to help people but some people can't be saved kind of vibe).

Honestly, if she was raised a Lolthlite she'd be one of her most devout.

Also another thing is she's sooo judgy towards certain Eilistraeen higher ups... but she keeps it to herself <3 because she's nice like that <3

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

Being tall af by drow standards, he had to bend down A LOT. Sszyl has a small bump on his back from all the bending down RIP. And being a dude? RIP to his posture man...

So when he left Menzo, it took a while for him to not automatically bend down at the first drow woman he sees...

was able to keep his long hair because his paramours favoured it.

Thinking about Ssszyl hmmm

On the fence Vhaerunite because he was saved by one when he was a young child in the lower cities of Menzo. Hates Lolth and Lolthlites while not fully embracing Vhaeraun's church. (This guy just hates gods and fate I think). He doesn't even want to gain divine favour or anything, most of what he does is for survival and giving Lolthlites the middle finger.

Also his height works against him because he's noticibly tall (180cm) so he has to be careful when he goes sneaking around. Physically, he's blessed with beauty but being regarded as a man, it all amounts to nothing in Menzoberranzan... His suitors have a love/hate thing for him (which Sszyl fully takes advantage of)

The scar just makes her look old. She got that nasty scar from a Yochlol, it could never heal properly (initially damaged half of her face). All that and she wasn't even a fully pledged darksong knight yet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Probably ended up in a Vhaeraun sect from word of mouth and Sszyl's old contacts. Feel like Enclave would immediately sus out that Jys'yr wouldn't stay within the sect long... There's some drow moon magic on her that still lingers I guess lmfao.

Ugh something about healing from trauma and indoctrination isn't as simple as just leaving the underdark so Eilistraee, despite being a goddess herself, took a while to understand this. (Additionally the biological changes the drow underwent after being in the underdark for so long)

I want this to be one of the themes explored when Jysyr and Sszyl first arrived in Imberlur.
