ok I'm finally making a sim profiles page :3 right now it just has the sims (currently) living in pleasantview, their current bio, aspiration, job, and current relationships. it has a fun sims 2 theme and clicking on the names brings you to that tag on the blog (reverse chronological but I might change that?) + it's in the rotation order I usually go in

since it's a wip right now I still need to:

- make it mobile responsive (sorry it's best on desktop rn)

- add pictures :)

- update friend/best friend/enemy counts because right now they're all sitting at 4 and I have to check in game

- add downtown, veronaville, ssu, and bluewater village sims (plus obituaries for the ones that have already died)

- figure out what other stats I want to add (immediate family info, addresses/household, personalities, zodiac, more history, secondary aspirations, majors, etc)

- do some more cleanup and whatever because this is all bare html LMAO

- maybe not link directly to the wiki's images because that's bad form but i also don't care about the fandom wiki losing bandwidth for my silly tumbrler page hehe

I originally considered grouping them by household and may still go back and do that, but it's good for now

I was debating whether I wanted to work on this Decades Through Time Build a Colony Challenge hood I’ve been setting up (…I really don’t know what to call it, it starts in 1751 and is themed and advanced through time as you go along, but will probably be closer to a BaCC than any other challenge), or if I want to just play with my classic megahood.

And then my brain was like “why not both?”

Me: Because there isn’t enough CC in the HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE to fully theme a megahood to anything other than MAYBE medieval!

Also me: Aw, you’re exaggerating! Besides, why not start with one hood and gradually unlock more subhoods to add as you advance through time? Starting with Pleasantview, probably!

Me: …you won’t rest until you crib ideas from every simmer out there, will you? Could you stop coming up with Fun New Themed Hood Ideas FOR FIVE MINUTES???

Sigh, it does sound neat though. I think the unlocking pattern would go something like 1. Pleasantview (1751), 2. Bluewater Village (Regency, mostly to give the Landgraabs a good head start), 3. Belladonna Cove (Victorian; it sounds like a nice Victorian town), 4. Veronaville (Late Victorian; Italian immigration and all that), 5. Riverblossom Hills (Edwardian, although I may want to swap it with BDC), 6. Desiderata Valley (1920s; a suburb), and finally 7. Strangetown (1940s). Downtown would either be last or have its own requirements. Colleges also have an unlocking order (ALT > SSU > LFT), but I don’t know yet whether to tie them to dates or not.

Anyway, it’s a nice idea. Certainly, it could be fun retheming a Pleasantview. But really, my dilemma was between “interesting theme but long setup” and “play immediately”, and devouring this idea does not help me solve that, dammit.

Tybalt is one of those aggressive band kids who's very passionate about playing a variety of instruments. He will literally duel you with his fiddle.

Ripp is really into indie/alternative music. cough cough datarock cough cough passive aggressive fits him well

Martin once said "I love you" to one of his teachers instead of "good morning" and he's often teased about it. College is rough, man. He's alright with it though, he's in good spirits.

Castor loves vines and has unintentionally recreated the "Hello?" vine with water. It went wild around SSU.

Jane makes really good muffins. Her mother owns a local bakery and she frequently helps out when she's got free time.

Ty is incredibly clumsy. He's falling down multiple flights of stairs on many different occasions. Good thing he's got thick skin and a good sense of humor.

Polli is fascinated by earth science. It blows his mind.

Kristen and Lola are the best of friends, they plan on moving to Sim Angeles right after the become "Rich Girls" just like the ones Gwen Stefani sings about.

Jen and Daniel are polar opposites. Growing up, Jen was the "popular girl" and Daniel was one of the "losers. Though today they're closer than they've ever been.

Romeo has had braces for a while and he's incredibly jealous of Mercutio's perfectly straight teeth.

Florence has a soft spot for bees. Save the bees!

I was thinking of doing an uberhood with only the hoods that have premades I really like, but it would literally just be Pleasantview, Strangetown, maybe Veronaville, SSU and LFT, so like the most basic combination.

University they attend for all premade children and teens, that you want to do it for - starting a megahood with all three unis so I'm curious

Hello there!

To what university I send my teens heavily depends on what university I add to that neighbourhood (for example, all of the uberhood teens will go to La Fiesta Tech because I'm not playing two university hoods!) That being said, I have some headcanons for all three universities, so it's nice thinking about this.

Pleasantview:

the Pleasant twins: Angela would totally be pressured by her parents to apply to ALT, which makes it so much worse when she gets rejected. Lilith is seen as a lost cause and was left to her own devices. She gets into LFT, mostly to get as far away from her family as possible. Angela ends up studying at SSU, which is fine. At least it means she is close to Dustin...

Dirk Dreamer applied to both SSU and LFT. SSU because they have the best economics programme, LFT because Lilith applied there. He gets accepted into both. He’ll probably choose LFT to be with Lilith, but a long distance relationship is also an option...

there is no way in hell that Brandi can afford university for Dustin and his grades are pretty bad, so he doesn’t really bother with applying for college. Maybe he manages to secure a full-scholarship for SSU, maybe he doesn’t, who knows?

Alexander Goth has the option to choose between ALT and LFT and chooses the latter because it’s his dad’s alma mater

Lucy Burb strikes me as a SSU gal. She’s be more than content to study there

Strangetown:

the Grunt boys: if Tank decides to go to university (I feel like he might consider skipping it for a career in the military, but Buzz might pressure him to get a degree to have better chances of becoming a top-ranking officer), he’ll go to LFT, no questions asked. It’s nearby and convenient. Ripp probably wants to go anywhere but LFT and with his grades, SSU is probably his best bet. I can see Buck surprising everyone by getting into ALT for some reason.

where Ophelia might go depends heavily on her relationship with Olive. I can see Olive being a bit neglectful and not wanting to spend an unneccesary amount of money on Ophelia’s education, in which case Ophelia will probably go to SSU (on a partial scholarship). On the other hand, Olive might want to keep her close for... reasons, in which case she’ll probably offer her to pay for her education at LFT. She shouldn’t have any difficulties getting into either, though

I just can’t imagine Johnny and Ophelia deciding on a long distance relationship, so he’ll probably decide where to go based on her options. He’d probably be the happiest at SSU, but I could see him choosing LFT instead because it’s closer to home and more familiar. His sister Jill will probably go to LFT. That girl wants to be a marine biologist so badly...

Veronaville:

the main Capps: Tybalt and Juliette will go to ALT, that’s for sure. With their connections and grades, that won’t be an issue. Hermia might want to skip that nonsense and applies to LFT instead? On the other hand, she’d fit right in with the ALT crowd

Goneril Capp brood: Goneril will fight tooth and nail to get her kids into the same prestigious university as her sister’s kids, but the tuition might be a bit too much? In that case, most of them would end up at SSU, perpetually disappointing their mother. Miranda might just skip university altogether and move to to big city once she turns 18

Puck and Bottom would probably fit right in with the SSU crowd, but them being fairies might just be a tad too weird. In that case, they’d go to ALT as well.

the main Montys: they go to SSU. The Monty’s think that ALT is a snobbish school for big snobs and they pride themselves in not being as snobby and desperate as the Capps. Romeo and Juliette will have a miserable long-distance relationship and at one point, one of them will totally transfer to the other’s school (my bet’s on Juliette, triggering a whole ‘nother thing to feud over)

the Monty twins: I honestly have no universtiy headcanon for them. Benedick is set up as this inquisitive child that’s supposed to solve his mother’s death, so SSU might work for him (social sciences?). Beatrice is more outgoing, so she’s be happy at either LFT or ALT

Does anyone still remember my sims 2 to sims 4 uberhood project from like a lifetime ago? Well I’ve been going back to in since like a month. I finished Veronaville/Oasis Springs and Desiderata Valley/Newcrest in the meantime. I’ve also remade the premade sims to make them look more accurate to their sims 2  originals and to match their traits even more to their personalities. I own more packs now so the builds look way better (though I didn’t revised the Pleasantview/Willow Creek lots). My goal is to finish and really play this save! I always wanted to play an Uberhood in the sims 2 but I don’t have the nerves to do so. But with the Story Progression of MCCC I might be able to skip households that aren’t interesting to me. We’ll see how this works out in the end. There is still a lot of work ahead of me. Let me know if you are interested in pics! Under the cut some notes to which world will be which ‘hood and some thoughts about them and my system for giving sims 2 premades sims 4 traits (mainly for my own reference when I’m not on my usual device).

Oasis Springs -> Veronaville -> Done Might be a funny decision, I was even asked before why I decided to do so. I stated that Veronaville always gave me Mediterranean vibes, I never gave Veronaville a winter season in sims 2. And I mean climate change is real you guys! This is probably what a Mediterranean area looks like today.

Willow Creek -> Pleasantview -> Done This is the obvious choice I guess. All makeovers can be found in the tag above. Sims have been remade.

Newcrest -> Desiderata Valley -> WIP Desiderata Valley has quite the suburban vibe to me, with the skyscapers in the background of Newcrest I thought that was really fitting. The lots are a bit small (as are a lot of lots in sims 4) but I made it work. Currently recreating the sims. I always had a soft spot for DV and I missed playing them. Some lots are really hideous!

Granite Falls -> Three Lakes I don’t own Outdoor Retreat but I plan to build the lots I planned for it anyway and save them to the gallery (if I ever get the GP).

Magnolia Promenade -> Bluewater Village (partial) In Magnolia Promenade I’ll build the own businesses by the Ramirez, Jacquet and Landgraab family.

Windenburg -> Bluewater Village I know that a lot of players see Windenburg more like Veronaville but I thought the whole setting with the big urban part would be more fitting to a Shopping District. Still don’t know who to handle home businesses...

San Myshuno -> Downtown (partial) and Belladonna Cove (partial) It makes sense to turn San Myshuno into Downtown. The Apartments will be filled with Belladonna Residents though.

Forgotten Hollow -> Downtown (partial) The vampire parts of Downtown would go to Forgotten Hollow. I don’t own the Vampires GP though. I’ll still build the lots and to the same as with the Three Lakes lots. Might get Vampires in the future...

Brindleton Bay -> Riverblossom Hills Those two ‘hood just give me the same vibes, idk...

Selvadorada No changes to the hood. I don’t own the pack, I don’t plan on getting it and even if I would, I’d have no idea what else to turn it into.

Del Sol Valley -> Belladonna Cove (partial) This would be like the uptown part of Belladonna Cove. I don’t own the pack so same as for Granite Falls and Forgotton Hollow applies.

Strangerville -> Strangetown Do I really need to elaborate this? I don’t think so. The lots in this world are really small and the Strangetown lots tend to be huge so I gotta improvise, but I’ll make it work!

Sulani -> Twikki Island This is pretty obvious too I think. With the possibility to have rental homes in residential worlds I could turn Sulani de facto into a vacation hood. Yet I don’t own the EP so same as above applies.

Glimmerbrook -> Magic and Belladonna Cove (partial) Glimmerbrook will be the homes to all thise magical beings from apartment live (and a not so magical neighbor of the Cordial sisters).

Britechester -> SSU, LFT, ALT This one is really giving me a headarche. I’ll include one residential lot from each S2 University and merge the Sororities and Fraternities of the SSU and LFT. They’ll move into Dorms I think. Don’t know what to do with the rest of the students yet.

Evergreen Harbor -> Belladonna Cove (partial) Probably just made this decision because there are apartments in Evergreen Harbor too. Will turn it into the low and middle class part of Belladonna Cove. I really don’t like this world, guys it’ll probably be a lot of community lots.

Mt. Komorebi -> Takemizu Village Guessed it, right? xD See Sulani on the how to. Mt. Komorebi will see a special inhabitant as it has one lot more than Takemizu.

On Traits:

I take Sims Personality, Hobby, Aspiration and Secondary Aspiration to calculate their traits. I use my own playing preferences and experiences on what Sims 2nd Aspirations and Hobbies are.

Welcome To Adulthood➡️University : SSU

While the party is raging in the background, Sally Riley manages to corner one of her many crushes, Benedick Monty in the hallway. She’s feeling a little brave from the one cup of fruit punch she drank earlier and leans in for a kiss. However Benedick isn’t interested, despite having the hots for her.

He literally has the hots for her and was swooning and thinking of her when walked in so I just found this failed kiss so hilarious. I guess he’s just super old-fashioned about relationships, coming from Veronaville. Also it’s been awhile since I’ve seen a failed kiss too and I never realized the hearts are different for a failed kiss vs a first kiss.

I ran out of sufficient interest in struggling to make my medieval game function—don’t worry, I am not planning to abandon it, I just cannot generate the wherewithal right now to spend many hours checking the last couple hundred files and then install new ones without having time to play. But I got very excited about the 50+ new LTWs mod, and decided to start a new ubermegahood in the same install folder as my Disney BaCC. It’s possible that was a mistake, but I am not planning to play that hood anytime soon, soooo…

Anyway, this means I am going to start playing a much more standard UberMegahood, with Gestation-based Aging, Traits, and several extra supernatural lifestates in addition to the LTWs mod.

I’m not at all sure whether all the clean templates I installed have preserved the normal bin families for Megahood purposes—pretty sure I did an elaborate routine of activating the main hood before installing the templates for the Megakingdom, but we’ll see—but my intent is to play with all the premades, and if they are not in my game I might have to figure something out to obtain them. Including, this time, the Kat and Kim families. I will have to decide where to put all the bin families that aren’t hood-specific; I used uniquely MCC criteria for divvying them up in the Megakingdom. For a normal ubermegahood, I want to place them based on which EP they came with, which subhood is too low on population BUT ALSO which subhood is clearly meant to have a higher population (eg, Belladonna Cove and Downtown, as opposed to say Strangetown).

I’m keeping my age calculation from the Megakingdom, and just added a millennia to the dates. The Megakingdom will be starting with a date of Summer 5, 1001; the modern Ubermegahood will be starting with a date of Summer 5, 2001. I find starting in a Year One like that to be clean and easy to remember, and it’s very nearly accurate to the game’s release date as well. Traits will be given via the randomizer, and I am thinking I ought to make ACR generate hood-wide gender pref too. And maybe I should come up with some trait-based aspiration-picking ideas? Traits and interests maybe?

I’m not planning to do any sort of taxes or unlocking system, but will be playing sims according to their LTWs and keeping track of the wealth of each subhood just to see how things go. Oh, and I might impose a pyramid of career slots just to limit careers a bit—that is, one sim at a time in the top level of a career, two in level 9, three in level 8, etc. I did this in a past Megahood, and never even got to a point where the slots actually filled up. Anyway, I might eventually add in some taxes or expenses if sims accumulate too much money, but usually no20k does the trick for me. And everyone is allowed to go to college, with the location selected based on the sim’s hometown and aspiration and maybe traits.

Roll 1d3 for base: 1 SSU, 2 LFT, 3 ALT

For sims from Pleasantview, Strangetown, or Veronaville, roll 1d4 with +1 chance for the college matching their hometown.

For primary and secondary aspirations, add two to the die sides as follows:

Family: +1 SSU, +1 ALT

Fortune: +1 LFT, +1 ALT

Popularity: +1 SSU, +1 LFT

Romance: +1 SSU, +1 ALT

Knowledge: +1 LFT, +1 ALT

Pleasure: +1 SSU, +1 LFT

So, a Romance/Family sim from Pleasantview would roll 1d8 1-4 SSU, 5 LFT, 6-8 ALT.

You may also add +1 for every preceding generation that attended that college, giving weight to the family tradition. Meaning +1 to the college a parent attended, another +1 if a grandparent attended the same one, and so on.

I will have to think through the extent I want traits to effect this, and I reserve the right to ignore rolls for the sake of a. drama or b. avoiding overcrowding.

I’m also going to have to figure out how best to incorporate the new supernatural lifestates I have; because I planned my mix of mods for my Disney BaCC, I’ve got fairies, mermaids, and genies. I am pretty sure I am going to make the Summerdream family be fairies, and I think I am going to rule that sims who make the last wish of a lamp have a 50/50 chance of becoming a genie afterwards. Not sure how to get mermaids started in a sensible way, maybe something with the tropical vacation hood?

Anyway. Here’s hoping I don’t have to do much finagling to get this started (re bin sims and the like), I just want to plaaaaaayyyyy. If I wanted to spend lots of time setting it up and making it work, I’d just keep working on the Megakingdom! I don’t have big storytelling plans, but I’d like to take some pictures and share updates once in a while. I am sure there are people out there who will be fascinated with the different directions this could take the popular premades. I made a copy of my Megakingdom spreadsheet and am altering it to fit a modern ubermegahood which should give me ways to amuse myself until I have game access…

It was remiss of me to assume that Skip would be a Nature sim – I got things completely confused and it turns out that he’s Sports, Susie’s Fitness. What a team! Yes yes, we get it, you love each other (which is a good thing because that way you’ll always have a sibling to rely on when you’ve each been dumped by all your suitors for being awful and generally hard to live with).

Speaking of love, somehow, somewhere along the line, Dirk became legit besties with Ginger Newson. This doesn’t surprise me because she’s awesome, but no romantic endgame here. If Dilith don’t work out, Gingy’s off limits due to being promised to someone else. I do like the idea of these two as buddies; sadly she’s off to Academie Le Tour while Dirk’s stuck with Dusty at SSU, but I’ll make sure they keep in touch.

I’m pretty certain that in every interaction Ginger’s had with anyone so far in my game she’s tickled the crap out of them.

Hel-lo. It’s that Veronaville tractor beam again, and heck did it deliver this time! Merc, my ultimate VV fave! How’s it hangin’, pal?

Mercutio: Oh y’know, had a few awkward threeways with Puck and Herms, figuring out our feelings, biding my time until I inevitably have angry woohoo with her brother, the usual.

Mercutio is in the building! And he and Ginger are yet to have a negative interaction. Ginge clearly needs a Popularity secondary, everyone adores her. I don’t know what Skip Jr’s doing but he looks wonderful.

The moment of joy was short-lived, because judging by his face, Beau prefers to deal with Skip Jr and Susie as individuals and loathes them as a pair.

Brandi and Dirk tend to be like that episode of Friends where Ross tries to make friends with Phoebe’s Paul Rudd boyfriend but they mostly sit in uncomfortable silence trying to figure out what to talk about. Thus, I’m trying to improve their relationship by having them play a stupid game of kicky bag.

Oh for god’s sake what’s wrong now.

It’s not even her one true hobby! Settle down Beau, she’ll probably put on Antichrist or The Human Centipede in ten minutes and all will be well again.

In far better news, Sports Lady is infinitely marryable just like Cool Tinkering Lady! These Hobby NPCs are spawning beautifully. Love that hair on her, love her outfit, love the pouty face, love that her personality will probably be a mess if she likes Sports that much.

Oh and Skip Jr gets to go to Dreamy Fields. Yey.

Ah, so it appears that Mercutio is one of those sims who never goes home autonomously.

So a TS1 Update Post...

tl;dr: Not gonna be a BACC anymore, going to make it just a semi-uberhood (megahood?)

I noticed I kept drifting further and further away from the BACC rules and taking more liberties. So hey, decided “hecc it” and am going to do away with it. I may look to another challenge, or maybe some rules and ideas from PleasantSims to make sure things don’t get stale.

I have work this week starting today, so I also plan to play in the evenings and queue up posts.

Anyway, my to-do list:

Update the tags on Tumblr and my footer graphics to drop the BACC tag.

Fix premade zodiac signs in SimPE, also make sure everyone has traits because I think not everyone does at the moment.

Make some of the marriage fodder townies from TS1 Console into townies. More families.

Add Voleste’s Magic Town as a Downtown (since TS1 Downtown is part of the main hood). Do something with that. Also maybe recreate Vacation Island, figure out how to do it since Vacation Island is a Mountain-Tropical blend lol.

Figure out how to play university... I *don’t* want to add SSU because anachronistic sims but *do* want to have some sort of university option for them also tbh I hate playing University lol

If I’m still not overwhelmed, prequel Strangetown and Veronaville.

How did you start shipping Tybalt & Puck? Also I would love to hear some uni ships! Favorite SSU / LFT / ALT ship?

Thank you for the questions! I hope you don’t mind long answers, haha

Tybalt and Puck came about quite naturally to me, in Veronaville I would usually play Hermia with Mercutio and keep Juliette with Romeo (at least initially) and so they were just kinda... the odd sims out? (And Miranda too I guess, but I prefer shipping her with people from outside of Veronaville.)

Tybalt I have always liked playing as gay and Puck just seems, idk, like someone who would have the kindness and patience for someone like Tybalt. (Puck is literally his only friend at the start of the game!) I’m not sure they would last beyond teenagerhood, especially once they go to college and experience more of the world outside of Veronaville, but I have just always really really liked them together! (If you’re interested I answered another question about them a few months back that goes into more detail about how I imagine their dynamic).

I love the uni sims, I could talk all day about them! I play a lot of them as being some form of queer - because they have less “lore” attached to them than the basegame premades it feels like you can get a lot more liberal with how you interpret them, I guess? (Not that you can’t do this with the basegame sims, and I know a lot of people do, this is just my personal taste)

For SSU, I really like Brittany Upsnott/Allegra Gorey and I really like Heather Huffington/Martin Ruben. Neither of these pairings actually ended very well in my uberhood, lmao, but I like them regardless! I also really like the concept of Allegra/Heather although I’ve never actually played this, @yakumtsaki did a cute story about them forever ago I loved

For LFT, Frances Worthington/Guy Wrightley! I like them both being from wealthy families and can see them as a power couple, plus Guy is just so nice he can maybe help Frances with some of his snobbishness, lol. I really like Jasmine and Zoe from the Shifting Paradymes together, too. They’re just both so cool and have so much in common, they work great together. I especially like the way @strangetomato writes them

For ALT, I love Max and Mitch together, how can anyone not. I also really like Roxie and Jonah, they seem like one of those really shallow couples you don’t expect to last but they just got along so well in my game, I never got around to splitting them up and eventually they’d been together so long I just didn’t see it happening. I liked Delilah O’Feefe and Emily Lee as a couple too, although they recently broke up </3 and Emily is engaged to Allegra Gorey now <3

I also really like pairing uni sims with the premade teens, those are some of the pairings I’m super passionate about. Ripp Grunt and Jimmy Phoenix are a couple in my game, and I’m deeply obsessed with the totally bizzare pairing Lilith Pleasant/Ashley Pitts. I had Tank and Stella together breifly in my game and although it didn’t really work out (he got too freaked out by the whole thing and transferred to SSU), they are a super facinating ship & I liked your post about them a lot!
