— alarm
itoshi sae x gn reader | 0.6k
sae catches a glance at your phone, and is confused by a wall of alarms
while walking past you, sae caught a glimpse at your phone. open on your screen, was what he swore was at least a dozen alarms set. upon another look, he saw that they were all set to go off within a few minutes from each other.
without taking notice of his confusion, you picked back up your phone and closed it.
“hi.” you said happily once you noticed sae.
“hi, why do you have so many alarms?” he asked blankly.
you raised an eyebrow quizzically. “what do you mean ‘so many’?”
“your phone. you have too many alarms set.”
you laughed and opened the app. “i do?” the wall of alarms made perfect sense to you, so sae’s confusion bewildered you.
sae decided to drop it. “probably.” with that, his phone began ringing, and he had to leave to answer what you read as his manager.
from the kitchen, sae heard an alarm go off from what he assumed was your phone. he was about to leave for practice, but decided to stay for a bit longer to wait for you. you turned the alarm off, and he expected you down soon.
to his confusion though, you didn’t come down. soon, another alarm went off. this one barely lasted a few beats before being silenced.
sae’s impatience was beginning to overrule his confusion, so he was about to pull out his phone and text you before yet another alarm sounded.
he groaned and shut off his phone, walking towards the door. he had to leave soon, and would see you later that day so there wasn’t much of a loss. being led on by your phone alarms probably wasn’t worth being late.
annoyingly enough, finally, that alarm was canceled and from in front of the door, sae heard you finally get out of bed.
a message popped up lighting up his phone screen.
> are you at practice?
sae sighed, and began texting back.
< i’m downstairs. about to leave.
> wait for me!?
< i’m about to leave.
you sleepily walked downstairs, pleased with yourself for waking yourself up early enough to meet him, admittedly for a minute.
“i’ll be home at the same time as usual.”
you nodded and replied. “bye,” you said with a wave.
“bye.” sae said before shutting the door and leaving for his car.
sae entered the house, clicking the door locked behind him.
“hi!” you exclaimed from the couch in front of the door, happy to have noticed his entrance.
“hi.” he responded, before his eyes fell on your phone.
“huh?” you questioned, wondering why he was staring at your phone which such unnecessary conviction.
“why do you have so many alarms set?” he began. “and don’t lie and say it’s much that much. you have at least a dozen.”
you raised an eyebrow in confusion. “a dozen alarms? yeah.”
sae groaned.
“i don’t get it, too many?”
“why do you need so many, the purpose?”
finally, it clicked in your mind. “to wake me up.” upon realizing that you were repeating yourself, you clarified. “otherwise, i’ll just go back to sleep.”
“why would it require so much effort?”
you shrugged and laughed. “it just does?”
sae paused for before responding. “you shouldn’t have so many.”
“uh, then i won’t wake up on time.”
“no. i’ll wake you up.”
you smiled. “really? and if you’re busy?”
“i’m not busy if i’m not at practice. you should be awake before then.” he explained.
“then we’ll have our mornings together!” you concluded happily.
sae would happily see you before his practices.
“yeah.”

— poster
itoshi rin x reader | 0.9k
you go to his game, and he gets mad
your notifications for football games had gone from a necessity, to a minor inconvenience. at first, they allowed you to watch many of rin’s games. it was a way to get closer, and worked well enough.
when he left though, the alerts began to sting in a way that was ever so dull.
still, eventually, you were the fortunate receiver of a welcome surprise—rin would be playing near your house.
disappointing as it was that he hadn’t told you, you were already used to it. you’d begun to speak less and less as time quickly passed, so it served no surprise. still, you tried to cling to the hope that you’d grow closer yet again.
not long after receiving the game notice, you decided to make a sign, a poster of sorts. something to cheer his name, and remind him of yours.
after acquiring poster paper, you pulled open a marker and began the meticulous job of outlining his given name.
resisting the urge to add heats, stars, anything to take up space, you elected to simply adorn the still-white paper with words of wished luck and victory.
though, you quickly fell to the urges and the once crisp white paper was turned into a rainbow you weren’t exactly proud of, but were happy to look at.
the day of his game, you happily grabbed your poster and made your way into the stadium. your seat was close enough to the field that you hoped your probably-just-friend would be able to spare you a glance.
the minutes after his game proved a bigger surprise than you could have possibly considered. not only did rin exclusively seek you out—but he was mad. at you.
you blinked back your shock. “what?”
rin’s eyes widened and he scowled. “i asked why the hell you came.” his voice was far too cold for comfort.
“i’ve come to so many of your games rin.” you choked out.
“so? i’m asking you why.” he spat.
you were dejected. there was no sense or reason in his anger. it was so nonsensical that there was truly no point in clapping back.
“dammit rin.” you spoke quietly before turning around to leave, eyes as blank as rin’s were cold.
on the way back to your home, you throw away the sign. it’s just a coincidence that you chose the garbage bin outside of the home of itoshi rin.
hours later, rin texts you. ‘i’m sorry.’ he says. you’d have been shocked to find how much he meant it.
he hated his performance in the game. sure, he had scored, but it wasn’t the kind of goal that he wanted to score, the conditions were all wrong and it wasn’t right.
though, he despised his stupid anger at you even more. you had attended his game—which he’d never even told you about—with a sign. one that was obviously homemade no less, so clearly made by you and you alone unlike the so many printed signs he’d seen even that game alone.
he was, horribly stupid.
‘i’m sorry.’ you read from your phone. scoffing, you shut off the phone to sit on your bed, once again staring at the ceiling as you’d been doing for who knows how long.
whether you blamed yourself or rin, whether he had the right to be mad or you did, your mind was too thick to determine. what you knew though, was that you missed the rin you used to know so well.
soon, rin had a vague thought that he needed to stop his lonely pity party, and gathered up his garbage to throw away.
he absolutely did not expect to see that damned sign you made inside of his own garbage bin.
at the sight, the outside of his eyes filled with an unexpected liquid prompting him to instinctively reach up to scratch the pointless sensation.
in a haze, he threw in his trash and carefully picked up the largely undamaged sign. with it held carefully in his undeserving hands, he took it home.
rin took it into his room, where he propped it up on his dresser. from his position at his desk, he could just see it fall from the corner of his eye.
he walked back to once again prop it up, and stood as it wavered, and then fell once again.
realizing it would not stand on his own, with a glance at your large writing proclaiming his own name, he walked over to the side of his bed and propped up your colorful sign with the soft plushie of a character he did not recognize, that you had once given to him.
it truly made sense that the few sources of color in his room came from you.
allowing himself to dramatically fall back onto his bed, he gazed at his boring ceiling and waited for the minutes to tick by and for the dread to dissipate from his tired body.
you were wondering for possibly the thousandth time whether or not to respond to rin, when, yet again, you received another call.
letting it ring out, you finally decided to turn off your phone.
with your phone off, you missed the text he instantly regretted sending, but was entirely set on carrying out; ‘i’m coming over.’

— wrong person
summary: you were happily attending one of your boyfriends games, when the kiss-cam fell on the wrong people. your boyfriend fixes that.
warnings: nagi seishiro x gn reader, sfw, established nagi seishiro x reader, fluff, crack??, reader hinted at going to college, blue lock canon—no, 0.6k wc
for months, you had done everything you could to attend your boyfriends games. you knew you could never be there for all of them but you promised him it’d be at least half.
so far, you had skipped plans with friends, and missed multiple classes (that you were somehow still passing).
your boyfriend, was not complaining. nagi didn’t like knowing that you were blowing things off with other people, but it made his face heat up knowing how much you cared about him.
you disliked watching his games on your t.v, when you could have watched them in person.
and so, you were at his games often. there were no issues with this anyway, because at his games you were never bored. you decided your heart would always flutter every time he looked over at you while mid-game.
this game though, something changed. that stadium in particular had a feature you’d seen many times before—the feared, and loved, kiss-cam.
however, that time it was used at the very beginning, minutes after the seats had filled up.
the players were all warming up on their sides of the field, when the kiss-cam came out. largely used to it, they all continued practicing as was normal.
for you though, this experience was certainly not normal. you were sat in the vip section, used mostly for fans willing to burn through way too much money. next to you, was a person you’d never seen in your life.
unfortunately, it landed on you.
nagi was still warming up, his entire team in near uniform, when he heard the game’s announcer give an annoying ‘ooh’ as school children might.
he ignored it and continued playing.
until he announced that the kiss came had landed in the vip section. that got nagi’s attention.
his attention was not earned, but caught unwavering by the sight of you, and the stranger who was supposed to kiss you.
he doubted many outside of his friends knew you were dating, and he didn’t want the media to tear you apart for existing. not being able to directly interfere, he had no plan whatsoever.
still, he knew he likely had seconds to spare before your lips met the stranger’s.
without any other ideas, he began dribbling the ball as normal, running towards the goal. not thinking of the follow through, he purposely guided his foot on top of the ball, thus launching his body forward and into the ground.
the announcer began making jokes as his horrible plan miraculously worked, and the cameras all turned to him.
embarrassingly enough, it was obvious how stupid his fall was. even worse, he knew he had to lie there until the kiss-cam’s allotted time was up.
though, maybe it wasn’t that bad. you didn’t have to kiss the stranger, and he was getting a break.
the crowd was obviously confused and concerned. and, entertained as nagi lay face-down on the freshly-cut grass.
soon, he quickly stood up and was called to the sidelines by his frustrated coach. the rest of his team was practicing as normal, stifling their own laughter so as not to be given a lecture.
still, it was worth it to see the look on your face.
unfortunately, nagi falling made headlines over the game itself. he was painfully annoyed as you, of course, laughed at him.
you sadly didn’t realize how intentional his fall was, and he didn’t feel the need to tell you. you’d make fun of him for being jealous, which he believed would be unfair. sadly, you were making fun of him anyway.
it was fine though, because you didn’t kiss anyone else. nagi knew full well you would not only have hated it, but would feel horrible as well.
and that made being temporarily forced out of the starting line-up worth it.

— interrupted call
itoshi sae x reader | 0.8k
shidou interrupts your conversation and tells his teammates
(note that the itoshi brothers’ relationship is far less strained then in canon.)
“who’re you calling?” shidou asked you, though it wasn’t much of a request considering he was halfway to grabbing the phone out of your hand.
“hey!” you yelled in objection to his stronger hand wrapping around your phone, easily wrenching it out of your grip due to your giving up.
“who’s this?” shidou asked loudly into the phone.
from his hotel room, sae raised an eyebrow and sighed upon recognizing shidou’s voice. “itoshi sae. give the phone back.”
shidou’s eyes widened and the smirk on his face grew larger. you groaned.
“shit, this is sae?” he paused and laughed before continuing. “why’re you guys talking when it could be us?”
“why wouldn’t i.” sae questioned, bored.
you halted the interrupted conversation with a yell about shidou stealing your phone. you went to grab it back, and surprisingly enough, he let you.
you turned off the speaker shidou had clicked, and held the phone back up to your ear. “sorry. i’ll text you in a few minutes.”
sae sighed into the phone. “okay. bye.”
“bye.” you grumpily whispered back.
while this was happening, shidou was typing madly on his phone. you wholeheartedly hoped it was just him spamming sae about something unsafe for most to read.
sae had never asked to hide your relationship. in fact, neither of you had yet gotten around to talking about its publicity. the most you’d gotten from sae was him telling you that he honestly could not care less.
for him, it was certainly enough. for you though, it meant that there wasn’t a correct outcome.
though, you’d be happy to yell about your boyfriend any day. maybe he wouldn’t yell, but you had a justified hope that he’d do the same.
“is it true?” bachira questioned you, walking up to you from out of the locker room.
isagi exited behind him and quickly followed. “you and sae are dating?
you faltered, surprised at the statement though fully ready to confirm.
chigiri came out next, a towel still pressed to his semi-dried hair. “i doubt it.” he looked at your offended face. “oh please. it’s not like i don’t think you could.”
finally, rin walked up to your group, his phone in hand already calling his brother’s number. “you’re wrong.” he addressed chigiri, who was already smiling.
eventually, sae picked up. turning on the speaker, rin began to speak. “are you in a relationship?”
sae scoffed, though when he spoke his voice was just a touch softer than his usual tone in spite of himself. “yeah.”
bachira began clapping, prompting isagi to work to silence him, not wanting to miss anything. “with—with who?” he asked.
“uh.” you began to speak, now much more confident. “with… me?” your voice had quickly begun to trail off at the end. so much for confidence. “me!” you quickly clarified.
isagi’s face lit up and he gave you a high-five which you supposed you were happy to return.
rin was speaking rapid hushed words to his brother. chigiri tapped your shoulder pointing it out, pleased to whisper that it was likely for tips on how to achieve the same.
you grinned with chigiri before being jumped on by bachira, who claimed to have suspected it the entire time. isagi surprisingly enough was able to confirm this.
apparently, the monster and the egoist had been having sleepovers with talk of romance. you and chigiri made eye contact and began to laugh.
soon, rin returned and grumpily explained that sae had hung up on him. isagi and bachira joined in on your and chigiri’s laughing.
you somewhat regretted not telling your friends earlier, but very much looked forward to all that you would talk to sae about later that day.
eventually, sae was due home and you excitedly waited for him in front of your door.
you would have liked to wait for him at the airport, however, he advised you to stay elsewhere due to ‘some jackass’ managing to leak his flight.
not soon enough, sae came in through the front door and you were happy to spring up and wrap your arms around him. you stayed like that for a bit before separating.
once his bags were all set down, sae looked at you, his face perfectly serious, and promptly began. “you couldn’t wait for me to be home before shidou found out?”
you tilted your head, confused due to his not bringing anything of the sort up.
sensing that your confusion was soon going to turn to worry, he continued. “he’s been spamming my messages since i got back. i blocked him but i don’t think that’s going to stop him.”
a smile broke over your face and you walked towards him to hug him once again, glad to be able to kiss him—comfortably in front of your friends, was a delightful added bonus.

— blackberries
itoshi sae x gn reader | 0.6k
you run into a blackberry stand while driving, and he pulls over
the previous night, sae had gotten a call stating that he was requested to meet with the head of a soccer team he couldn’t care less about. he fully wanted to decline, but his manager had already spoken to you.
while you weren’t exactly excited, you agreed to convince sae so long as you were allowed to go as well for the duration of the trip. luckily, it was a trip taken by car rather than by flight.
the drive had already dragged on for long enough, you’d decided. without asking, it was clear that sae agreed as well. he was driving about as fast as he could without the risk of being pulled over, though one glance at his face told you that the decent speed limit was pushing it.
“we should pull over.” you suggested thoughtfully.
sae wanted too as well, but saw no use in waiting along the side of the road and prolonging the drive even more.
“why?” he decided to ask.
“you look like you’re going to scream sae.” you replied.
he defended himself. “no i don’t.”
you retorted. “look at your knuckles. you’re gripping the wheel so hard they’re white.”
“so?” he questioned. though, his hold on the wheel loosened and he had to admit you were right.
you sighed and unpaused the song sae had turned off minutes before, and let the sound fill the car.
not long after, out of the corner of your eye, you saw a small stand along the side of the road. spray painted onto the stand’s body proclaimed the blue-colored word, ‘blackberries!’.
before you could even notify sae, though, he was already slowing down the car to pull over a bit away from the stand.
once parked, he slowly turned to you. “you like blackberries, right?”
you nodded. “yeah, let’s go.” excitedly, you hopped out of the car and walked next to sae for the stand.
the owner of the stand—an older woman—beamed as you and your boyfriend walked the distance.
without words, she pulled out an empty container.
you regarded the container’s size thoughtfully and asked for 3.
“why do we need 3?” sae asked, confused. did you like blackberries that much? he could have bought you some at any time if you’d asked.
“for the meeting. the u20, and blue lock teams are both going to be there.” you explained.
he sighed. “so?”
your response was a smile, before you turned back to watch the woman fill the containers.
once she finished, sae pulled out his wallet and placed a hand on your arm when you tried to do the same. you rolled your eyes, but did as he unfortunately wanted.
he pulled out the paper money and set it on the board used as a table.
“thank you!” you said, sae nodding next to you as you both began to walk off, smiling.
from behind you, the woman picked up the money and didn’t even have to count it for her eyes to widen. “sir?” she called out, prompting you and sae to turn around. “this is far too much!”
you looked at sae, who looked off-put at her reaction. “keep it.”
she shook her head. “please allow me to count out the change, at least!”
sae sighed and a smile grew on your face. without moving from his spot, he answered again. “no. keep it.”
you moved your hand to intertwine with his, a grin on your face to match the bored expression on his.
the woman again beamed. “well, thank you. you are a beautiful couple.”
he unconsciously squeezed your hand, but the softening of his eyes did not go unnoticed by either of you.

— forehead
mikage reo x reader | 0.7k
he gets a bruise during a game an expects a kiss as compensation
you'd been busy with homework, and so you hadn't been able to go to, or even watch your boyfriends game. you'd tried to listen, but every time reo's name was called, you'd lose focus. needless to say, for the sake of your project, you were forced to turn it off.
you had made an impressive amount of progress before you heard the door click open, and the sounds of your boyfriend walking in. you smiled and began for where you knew he'd be removing his cleats.
upon reaching him, you were surprised to see a mark on his forehead. it was an impressive shade of red and looked to be a bit swollen.
a grin expanded across his face as he saw you. "hi," he then pointed at his forehead. "soccer ball."
you laughed at the mark, considering it was practically square in between his eyebrows. "hey, that's definitely going to bruise, you know?" your voice was quiet, but teasing enough that it was obvious to him.
he scoffed while pulling down his hair, letting its tips reach his shoulders once again.
“you’ll kiss it better though?” he thoughtfully suggested. “right?”
“is this how you ask for a kiss?” you raised an eyebrow and your voice remained just slightly teasing. “a forehead kiss, even worse.” you had a lot of talk in you for someone who wanted to kiss him very badly indeed. this teasing came from a need to not be alone in your suffering.
joining you in on your apparent mission against him and his forehead, reo didn’t want to be left behind. “you don’t want to kiss your wonderful boyfriend’s painfully throbbing battle wound?” if he couldn’t over exaggerate, he figured there would be no point.
not entirely fooled, you only half believed him. “battle wound? didn’t it come from a soccer ball, of all places?” you spoke, quoting his own words though made less dramatic.
“the soccer field is a battlefield in it of itself.” he retorted intelligently.
neither of you were quite sure how you ended up speaking this way, but the annoying pain in reo’s forehead had not yet subsided and instead seemed to hurt even more, and now he just wanted his wholly expected welcome back kiss. he walked closer to you in order to wrap his arms around you, but in anticipation, you turned your head to the side.
you were even less sure how you ended up so many times rejecting him a kiss, but you were partially curious as to the end result. this was even more overwhelmed though, by your enjoyment of your usual routine with him of a welcome home kiss.
reo didn’t at all want this game to continue, and by the way he felt relief at the way you were staring at his only slightly embarrassing bruise, he was right in thinking you didn’t either.
“kiss me, please?” reo asked, a smirk forming on his face.
you weren’t exactly pleased at his confidence, but did as requested and pressed your lips against his, still purposefully ignoring his forehead so that he’d be forced to ask yet again.
you unfortunately noticed though that his cheeks were reddened from either smiling, or your kiss, and upon the realization you took the loss and kissed his forehead as well.
“you’re lucky you’re cute, ya’ know” you murmured under your breath, quiet enough that reo was just barely able to catch your soft words
this time, his already red-tinted smirk was just a bit more flustered, and that much more pleasing to look at. “you are too though.”
eventually, curious as to how he ended up with the bruise, you watched his game. you were used to him arriving home with bruises on his arms and legs, sometimes even on his face. still, they were usually in the middle of his forehead rather than in between his purple eyebrows.
surprise, surprise, it originated from him jumping up to block a goal. it seemed he miscalculated however, because the look on his face as the roughly kicked ball made its contact was one that did not fit your standard of cute.
you laughed at his obviously shocked reaction before turning your face to his own, right where the ball hit.
the annoyed look on his face at your laughter became that of one quickly placated by the kiss you so kindly gave. anyone’s standard of cute.
a/n: back from the dead, here to revive my account with reo magic

— carry
nagi seishiro x reader | 0.6k
you walk home together and he complains
you slipped on your shoes and stood up. next to you, nagi did the same as he brushed off his sides and fully straightened.
reo waited at the door, his face concerned. “are you sure you don’t want to be driven home? i could call someone right now.” he suggested thoughtfully.
you shook your head. “it’s fine, i don’t want to trouble you.” you chose not to include nagi in your statement as you knew full well he would have rather been driven home than walk. you were already pleasantly surprised that he wasn’t insisting on driving anyways.
the three of you had gone to reo’s mansion for the afternoon, and eventually the time had come to go home.
reo looked to nagi. “you’re sure?”
nagi shrugged without raising his head from his game, and without raising his voice in objection. once he completed the level, he looked up and walked towards you. “see you.” he waved to reo.
you nodded and turned around once again. “bye!”
reo grinned before waving back and calling out his own goodbye.
nagi thought he’d lasted an impressive amount of time. it had been at least 20 minutes before he began complaining to you.
“we should’ve taken the car.” he groaned. his face was a mix of neutral and pouting.
you sighed. “you could’ve taken it yourself.” it would have been a lie if you said you wished he had, but you could have gone without the complaints. yet, you certainly enjoyed his company and had a feeling he didn’t mind yours much either.
“no.” he paused and scratched the back of his neck. “you would’ve gotten lost.” he continued. “reo would kill me.”
rolling your eyes, you softly chuckled at his slightly offensive explanation. you clicked your tongue. “i wouldn’t have gotten lost. but if you had taken the car, you would’ve fallen asleep.”
nagi shrugged. “so?”
“ba-ya would have to carry you out.”
he paused before realizing why that was wrong. “oh.”
you laughed.
“still,” he continued. “if we had both taken it, it’d be a lot easier.”
you shook your head and responded with a brisk ‘no.”
your banter continued back and forth for minutes longer, before nagi came to a conclusion.
“you should carry me.”
you were taken aback. “what?”
“you owe me. so you should carry me.” he spoke nonchalantly.
you snickered. “god no sei,” you looked at him and wasn’t at all shocked that he was genuine. “i love you, but you’re a giant.”
he was 6’3. 190 centimeters. your height didn’t matter in the slightest as you were faced with the entertaining, but painful thought of trying to carry him for even a second.
you had to stop walking to laugh.
“what?” nagi asked, apparently not understanding. some genius he was, clearly unable to comprehend how gravity worked in the slightest.
through short giggles, you caught up to him easily as he’d stopped not far ahead of you.
“there’s no way i could carry you.” you paused.
“it’s a pain to walk.” his face was pouting once again, feeling called out for his height even if he didn’t mind it in the slightest.
you groaned and observed how his body was hunched over.
quickly he noticed this and leaned over your shoulder and managed to place a kiss on your check. you grinned and walked faster.
as he moved to keep up, you took his hand in yours and continued moving forward.
“good enough.”

summary: sae noticed you’ve been off, and tried to help
warnings: established itoshi sae x gn reader, fluff, ooc sae, food/ eating, 0.9k wc
“that’d be great sae.” you spoke into your phone, pleased after finally agreeing on a place for your date. you were stuck at work while sae was just about to get ready for practice from your home.
“i can do it tomorrow or next week.” he said after consulting his practice and game schedule.
“tomorrow then.” you decided.
“okay. when?”
“uh.” you thought for a few seconds. “maybe 18:00?”
wait—you had a meeting at 18:00. you glanced at the clock next to your desk: 17:57.
“that work-“
“sorry! meeting!” you yelled into your phone before quickly ending the call and leaving for the large meeting hall where you were expected to be in a couple minutes.
sae was left surprised, phone still in hand. “damn.” he said to no one in particular, before rolling his eyes to no one again, and leaving to change into his practice gear.
“i’m sorry, i don’t think i can make it.” you said apologetically to the man in front of you.
he shrugged. even if he was disappointed, he didn’t feel like making it a big deal. “why?”
your voice caught in your throat, not wanting him to know the extent of the stress you were facing at work.
your group had been assigned a large assignment meant to be observed by a large person at your company, and somehow almost all of them had managed to escape its responsibilities.
only you and 2 others were able to work on it, and each passing day brought it further from completion.
“they’re giving us more work, and i’m drowning.” you gave a guilty smile. “sorry, maybe in a few weeks?” you managed to forget the extent of how observant your boyfriend is.
a few weeks was a long time of this, sae thought. one date was one thing but that long was way too much time for you to be under the stress you obviously thought you were good at hiding.
“be home early tonight, okay.”
“i’ll try.”
“whatever, early.
sae opened his computer as soon as you left the room. after a crude text to his manager, he was able to get in contact with your company.
it took even more crude language, but sae was quickly able to learn of the large project placed upon you.
he admittedly had no way to help you with the project itself, but wanted to contribute in at least one way.
regretfully walking over to the kitchen you’d banned him from, he had one idea.
immediately upon walking through the door of your home, your were surprised to be hit with the smell of cooking vegetables. sae of all people was cooking?
you knew full well he enjoyed cooking about as much as talent he had when it came to it. so for him to be doing so, you didn’t know whether to feel honored or worried.
hanging up up your jacket and slipping off your shoes, you walked into the kitchen to see sae standing above the stovetop, large oven mitts worn over his hands. you scoffed, though endeared.
“sae? you’re cooking?” you said upon walking closer.
“yeah.” he breathed a silent sigh of relief that you were home early.
you tilted your head in confusion. “why? you never cook. i’m surprised you even know how.”
“well.” he said slowly. “i don’t exactly know how.”
you laughed and took a peek at the stovetop. he was cooking an assortment of vegetables, and behind you was your rice maker.
“go get changed. i’ll be done soon.” he said, still focused on not burning the food in front of him.
“yep. be right back.” you spoke before happily doing as requested, and changing from your work clothes into something more comfortable.
soon, you walked back to see the kitchen empty, and relatively uncluttered.
you quickly deducted he had set the table, and walked over to where he turned out to be.
it wasn’t much, but you knew the minimal portions of rice, cooked vegetables, and soup probably took him longer then he’d care to admit—you were right. he was aware of his lacking skills and began early for fear of mistakes.
you took a seat and gave a thanks for the food. “what’s this all for?” you asked. “is it a special occasion or something?”
“no.”
“then what? is it because i had to cancel on our date?”
he shook his head. “no reason.”
that was a lie. if you couldn’t go out on a date then this was the best way of decreasing your workload while still spending time together. sae was proud to feel that he did live up to his ‘genius’ title.
you meanwhile, had begun to feel even worse. sae had cooked for you, and you planned to run to your room and work again as soon as you finished.
“sorry i’ve been so flaky, you know how much work they’ve been giving us lately.” you said, lowering your head. “i know you’re busy.”
his voice was bored. “it’s not like i don’t do the same thing. i’ve ditched you too many times to be mad when you do the same.” he shrugged. “and you’re busy too.”
you smiled. “thanks, sae.”
he nodded. “i talked to your boss, by the way. the project will be done by tuesday.”

— cardboard hearts
itoshi rin x reader | 0.7k
you walk in on him being cute, and are happy to tease him for it (lovingly)
rin had no idea what he was doing. he hardly did anything new, so doing something so unusual was a novelty to him.
at its core though, it was most definitely you. looking out at the table in front of him, he deduced it was completely you. you were certainly the only one who could make him do something so stupid.
when you finally happened to walk in the room, the panic in his eyes was unmistakable even if calm settled on his face just seconds after.
you were confused, not only as to why he was sitting at a table in front of a mound of brightly colored cardboard paper, but also as to why he looked so panicked.
“rin?” you questioned.
“uh-“ he scrambled to cover the evidence, fully ready to deny everything in front of him.
upon further inspection, though, you quickly saw the cut up cardboard paper and realized much of it was cut into small rainbows of hearts.
“oh.” you spoke after it clicked in your mind. you gently laughed, delighted at the concept, before beginning to search for confirmation. “those are for me?”
rin swallowed thickly, his reply so hasty he didn’t stop to think about it. “no.” he answered, except it was more of a question than an answer.
he cursed himself—he’d always considered himself to be a much better liar. maybe it was the unfamiliar situation—never had he been caught cutting out bright paper hearts by their theoretical recipient.
your eyebrows raised, and you were wholly unable to believe even half of the statement. still, you found his horrible denial to be all the more endearing.
“it’s not really…” his voice trailed off as he tried to begin, unsuccessfully. “it's actually supposed to be…”
you laughed and walked forward to kiss your boyfriend on the corner of the lips. “yeah?” you teased. “who’re they for rin?”
he scoffed, though clearly much more calmed compared to his previously wholeheartedly embarrassed state.
“for you.” he paused, not at all past the point of hesitation “ ‘m not sure what exactly they were meant for, though.”
you grinned and picked up a sky-blue heart. rin did the same with a pale pink one, looking at it as if it would distract you from his flushed face.
you were of course undistracted, as you again leaned forward to kiss his lips, which he resignedly returned in full.
after 3 days of being gone at an away game, rin was finally able to return to your home. while not exactly tired, he was certainly sick of being forcefully engaged in lukewarm conversation, and being apart from you.
once you opened the door, you held your arms open so he was able to walk in and reciprocate—he’d showered at his hotel before leaving.
when he tried to kiss you though, you turned your head to the side and took a step back.
“huh?” he questioned, wondering if and what he did to make you mad. it was probably something he said on a call or before leaving, but he wasn’t sure of what.
as if it answered his questions though, you held up a small purple heart he recognized as cutting out a few days before.
he’d thought a lot about that interaction while gone, and came to the conclusion that there was something temporarily wrong with him. unbeknownst to him you’d done the same and were happy to conclude along with chigiri, that your boyfriend was a simp.
his face contorted upon recognizing the heart, and realizing that he likely wouldn’t in fact not be getting the kiss.
hours later, though, revenge was at last served when you forgot all about teasing him and moved to kiss him; finally allowing him to hold up the green heart he’d been carrying for the past few hours in anticipation.
and, impressively soon, both of you forgot—or rather, gave up on—the hearts.
though, that didn’t mean that the red heart tucked inside of your phone case ever had to be removed.
a/n: this was almost 400 words shorter, but i hope i was able to make him that much dumber

— cabinet
itoshi rin x gn reader | 0.6k
rin covers an edge, and acts natural
your eyes opened from a short sleep, and you quickly recognized your surroundings as bachira’s home. the previous night you and a few from the team has been invited to bachira’s house, and their team manager had all but forced it. it was the only way it was possible to convince nagi and rin to attend.
looking around, you saw everyone spread out still asleep on couches and the floor. sitting up you decided to make yourself tea in the kitchen, so you maneuvered yourself out the door, hopefully without stepping on anyone.
upon reaching the end of the hallway though, you were surprised to see rin standing in the kitchen leaning against the marbled counter.
“you’re awake?” you asked, thinking you were the first to wake.
he took a sip from the water in his hand before responding. “yeah.”
“well, good morning.” you replied, painfully aware of how dry your conversation was.
“yeah.” he replied slowly.
the corner of your lips turned up, as you looked around for bachira’s tea bags, which he had assured you were at least somewhere.
“what’re you looking for?” rin asked after a silent minute of him watching you search.
“tea bags.” you did a 360 of the kitchen, your eyes landing on rin, who was offering you exactly what you were looking for.
“where’d you find that?” you asked while accepting.
he took a step foreword and gestured at the drawer behind him.
you groaned. “why didn’t you tell me earlier?”
he rolled his eyes. “you never asked, how’d i know?”
“um,” you laughed guiltily. “yeah, thanks.”
rin ignored it, pulling out his phone to begin scrolling through what you assumed was one of his many social media accounts.
meanwhile, you had finally managed to locate everything, and were about to begin before realizing you didn’t have a cup. you walked to the other side of the kitchen for a cabinet, opening it before being distracted by a gust of wind through the open window.
what rin saw though, was a gust of wind about to knock the open cabinet door into the back of your head. quickly, he took a step to the side and placed his hand against the corner, earning him little more then a second glance from you.
alas, he was now stuck in an unfortunate position with his body obviously extended, holding on to the very cabinet you were just using. he awkwardly moved his legs to the side, and he was then leaned against the counter with his hand still on the open door.
you watched the latter half of this take place, your head turned from the other counter. “rin?” you questioned. “why are you standing like that?”
he inwardly cringed, before answering blandly. “it’s comfortable.”
you laughed, before turning around to grab a cup from the cabinet rin still leaned on, and walking back to the counter you were using.
“i’m going.” rin said, walking past you phone in hand.
once he had left the room, you turned to face the window and quietly laughed, smiling brightly having seen most of rin’s struggle in the reflection of the window. this included the determined look on his face as he practically lunged forward.
from around the corner of the hall, out of your sight, rin stood guiltily listening to your laugh, though ticked off that it was probably at his own expense.

— elevator
itoshi rin x reader | 0.8k
you and him end up alone in an elevator
a football exhibit was opening in the chest city over, and ego wasted no time in sending a few from his team. with them, you were told to follow. it didn’t take much effort before you were sold, as you wanted to go anyway, and this was much better than going alone—or even worse—inviting someone to go with you.
chigiri and isagi picked you up from your house where you joined along with rin to walk the remaining distance. it was the closest to his home, reducing the amount of time dedicated to the two of you succeeding in maintaining a conversation.
isagi had long sworn otherwise, but you had promised him that once you got past the obvious and rin’s anti-social nature, conversing with him really wasn’t all that difficult. chigiri had reminded you that rin as a whole, was in fact difficult. in the moment, a gesture which you continued to stand by, you had simply grinned and laughed.
once at the exhibit, you met up with the other two members of your group—barou and hiori. barou had refused to walk with the rest of you, and instead chose to leave his home early and get there first. hiori, on the other hand, had tried to walk with your group, but was driven by his parents. he’d gotten there not long after barou and it was clear by his face that he was glad to see the rest of you rather than spend more time with barou.
the check-in process was simple, considering barou had already done so for all of you. when questioned, he impolitely replied that, “you peasants wouldn’t have known how.”
isagi shrugged. “thanks?” his response led barou to roll his eyes, as the 6 of you continued inside.
as you entered the lobby, the man at the front desk got your attention as he noticed your group looking around in confusion, not knowing where to go. you quickly made your way over to him as he explained that it’d be best for your group to go up the elevator.
rin stayed quiet while you and isagi thanked the man, as your group once again looked around in confusion before the man laughed and pointed out a hallway and instructed you to make the first turn left.
following his guide, you soon made it to the elevator, one that appeared to be clear. all of you tried to get on, but the woman pressing the buttons promptly stopped barou and isagi from entering.
“my apologies, but only 4 at a time may go.” she spoke.
isagi nodded and took a step back, but it was clear he didn’t want to go on a private trip with barou. he obviously felt more than the same, and barou began fighting the notion of him pairing with isagi. hiori and chigiri quickly worked out a plan, and within a few minutes, the two of them were traveling up with barou and isagi both. thus leaving you and rin alone.
eventually, a beep sounded and you and rin were permitted on the elevator. the woman pressed a few controls and the two of you began going up.
quickly, you could have sworn that your ride was going slower than the one before. looking out at the building around soon became old, and you ended up simply looking at rin. he looked back, with much more intensity.
it looked like he was trying to burn your face into his eyes, and you hoped it wasn’t out of anger. in the meantime, you observed his dark tie and white shirt. it looked like he tied his tie himself, and it was just the slightest amount loosened. probably for free breathing, you assumed.
without realizing, you ended up stepping closer, your eyes now focused on his instead of on his tie. taking notice, rin moved in the same way, just a bit closer.
taking the lessened instance into account, you smiled while his face softened as the both of your faces began heating up. based on your reactions, you and rin quickly realized your intentions aligned.
upon the clearly-slowed elevator reaching the top, it appeared that everyone pretended not to take notice of your shared messy hair, rin’s even looser tie, and your wrinkled jacket. at least, you chose to ignore the disgusted stare from barou, and chigiri’s knowing smirk.
though, not much could have made rin’s heart drop faster then isagi musing aloud, “i wonder if that glass was one way, or fully see through.”
suffice to say his face stayed relatively flushed for the reminder of the visit.
a/n: only after finishing did I realize how little dialogue i wrote 😭

— missing detail
summary: you and nagi act as a couple, as couples do. this confuses your friends to no end.
warnings: nagi seishiro x gn! reader, sfw, established nagi seishiro x reader, poor grammar & spelling, 1k wc
you trailed next to nagi as the two of you followed your friends into the diner. after winning a game, bachira and isagi announced that you all deserved something.
even if you weren’t on the team, you were dragged along by your friends nonetheless. of course, you weren’t complaining.
along with you, was nagi, isagi, bachira, and reo.
your group was approached by a waiter soon after entering, and he curtly led you to a semi-circle table near the back, as requested by reo.
once sat down, nagi pulled you by the sleeve of your jacket so you’d be sat next to him, with him sitting next to reo who was on the very edge. on your other side came isagi, and bachira who was on the other edge.
it was obvious that the staff recognized your group, whether through soccer, or reo’s family. either way, you were given hardly 5 minutes before a new, attractive waitress walked up and asked for your drink orders.
you ordered a tea, reo and isagi ordered water, and bachira ordered coffee. when it came to be nagi’s turn, he simply shrugged with a simple “i dunno.”
the waitress froze for a moment before reo quickly told her that nagi wasn’t thirsty. nagi himself was finally given time to pull out his phone and return to his game.
soon after, the same waitress came up with your 4 drinks and asked for your orders. isagi politely asked for more time to which the rest of you nodded.
unfortunately, nagi only felt the dryness is his throat after the waitress had left. he didn’t want to call her and order anything, and thought it stupid to ask anyone else to do it for him when you were right there.
“yo.” he tapped your shoulder with one finger as you drank.
you pulled the glass from your lips and turned to face him. “yeah?”
he pointed at your tea. “can i have some?” he gestured to the empty space in front of him, without a drink.
you handed the glass to him. “sure. you could order for yourself, though.”
he shrugged, and drank anyway.
once satisfied, he handed it back. “we technically just kissed.” he said, nonchalant.
next to you, isagi’s eyes widened. ‘huh?’
half an hour later, you were all done with your meal, and left an impressive tip. your group decided to walk a few blocks to a near by farmers market, as suggested by isagi.
you walk next to nagi, following behind isagi who is whispering furiously to bachira and reo.
you sped up, dragging nagi as well. “you guys talking about anything important?” you ask, confused as to why they were whispering.
isagi’s hand raised to scratch the back of his neck. “no, sorry. just our game.”
“what of it?” you asked. “you guys won, and deserved it.”
reo smiled. “hah, thanks.”
“we’re here now.” bachira announced with a grin.
nagi’s eyes flickered around the stands and saw a shaved ice stand, he again tapped your shoulder and pointed it out to you. he aimed a nod at the stand explaining where he was going.
you smiled and began walking over with him. unbeknownst to the two of you, your friends were following close behind.
once there, your eyes quickly began scanning the board announcing the offered flavors. “what’d you like?” you asked.
“uh.” he quickly looked over the flavors. “strawberry.”
you nodded and looked to the person in the stand. “two strawberry shaved ice please?”
the man nodded and a minute later quietly handed the cups to you two. you reached your hand into your pocket to pay, but nagi beat you to it. annoyingly enough, he’d already had cash out to pay for the both of you.
behind you, bachira aimed a grin at isagi while he and reo stared in confusion.
“they’re awfully close.” bachira whispered, smile evident in his voice.
they watched in awe as you and nagi continued walking around. finally, you settled on a stand selling plants. you had directed him to it and held up a cactus.
“looks like choki?” he said, framing it as a question.
you nodded and tried to hand him the small plant, to which he rejected. “can i take a picture?” he asked, already opening his phone’s camera.
he quickly snapped a photo of you protectively holding up the cactus. that snapped it for your friends.
you set down the cactus and walked off a bit to throw your empty cup in a nearby trash can. nagi moved to follow you before he was jumped up isagi, bachira, and reo, who had ran the distance to him. this quickly earned his attention as nagi faced them curiously.
“hey… nagi?” isagi asked, choosing his words thoughtfully.
“yeah?” nagi asked.
“are you guys… dating? he asked, gesturing at you.
“huh? yeah.” nagi replied, nonchalant.
reo’s eyes seemed exploded out of his head. “what? nagi.” he cleared his throat. “for how long?”
nagi shrugged. “a few weeks now.”
he stared at the amused smile on bachira’s face, reo’s shocked stare, and isagi’s flailing hands as you walked back. “what’s happening?” you asked.
bachira’s face lit up brightly. “you guys never told us you were dating.”
“uh.” you turned to nagi. “we never told them?”
“i guess not. he said, and then paused. “i thought we did.”
“just slipped your mind?” reo said with a laugh, though he felt a bit betrayed. “forgot to tell your best friend?”
nagi scratched the back of his neck. “sorry reo.”
“well. be a good boyfriend.” reo said with a laugh. nagi nodded.
you laughed as well, and quickly apologized to the three.
“can’t believe nagi got so lucky.” isagi said.
“it’s not luck.” reo said, proudly.

— ice cream
summary: nagi makes a deal with you over ice cream, and reo is an awesome wingman.
warnings: nagi seishiro x gn reader, reader works at ice cream parlor, reo is nagi’s wingman, 1.3k wc, reader is about nagi’s age, blue lock not mentioned
‘being a ‘genius’ has its perks.’ nagi seishiro decided as he followed reo, leading him into the ice cream parlor. after winning yet another game, the purple-haired boy decided that the duo deserved a treat. with no way of escaping, nagi had joined, and was pleasantly surprised with the location.
nagi knew what was happening anyway. reo had probably seen him staring at the establishment many a time. he likely knew who the taller boy was staring at as well. one with an observant friend can only give a person so many double-takes before it is obvious.
you bit back a smile as you saw the two entering. you recognized both from random encounters, though you had never spoken to them other then when your job called for it. still, you understood you fully wanted to.
you found yourself basically staring at the white-haired one in particular. he seemed tired and unenthusiastic compared to his more lively friend, but this did nothing to decrease your interest. it was obvious anyway that both were good-looking.
after entering, nagi found his eyes flickering between you and the signs proclaiming the few flavors offered.
reo’s eyes quickly scanned the flavors before deciding. “what are you getting nagi?” he said as he picked up and presented to you a strawberry-flavored ice cream
“dunno. you choose for me?” nagi responded, walking away to pull out two chairs sitting in front of a large window.
reo shrugged. “okay.” he thought for a bit before grabbing a vanilla ice cream. he gave a look back to nagi, who had already opened his phone. he paid and quickly walked to the swiveling chairs that had been picked out.
reo handed nagi the ice cream with an expectant grin.
nagi looked up and took a few seconds to think before reaching out his hand and offering a thanks. “it looks like my hair.” he observed, picking up a piece of his bangs to compare the two.
reo shrugged with his mouth full of melted pink.
“huh. i won.” nagi said, unimpressed.
reo meanwhile, who’d lost, looked excited. “i have an idea, if you’re willing.”
“for what?” nagi questioned, voice showing his disinterest.
reo looked around the room in case there was any one near by to listen—there was not. still, he whispered into his friend’s ear for extra safety.
“it might not work, but it’s better than nothing.” reo said after finishing his message. “‘m tired of seeing you stare at them like a lost puppy instead of speaking to them.”
“okay. i’ll try. and i do not stare at them.” nagi decided, feigning the need to think it over.
he walked up to you holding the ice cream stick between two fingers like a cigarette. you didn’t hear him coming so he was left standing at the counter for a minute before you glanced over your shoulder.
“oh!” you realized he’d probably been there for a while. “sorry! just ask if you need anything.”
nagi quickly nodded his head. “can i ask you something?”
“of course?”
he held up the stick, making sure you saw the ‘you won’ message printed on it’s side. he spoke slow, making sure the words sounded right. “if i win again.” he hesitated, crossing his fingers below the counter. “you have to go on a date with me?”
he exaggerated the end, ensuring you knew for certain it was a question, and he wasn’t trying to force you into anything. you felt a tug at your cheeks, and smiled bashfully. you would go on a date with him even if he lost.
as he sorted through the ice cream, as though he could tell which one would result in his victory, you looked at him.
you first looked at what he was wearing. it was obviously comfortable, baggy clothing at its best. you couldn’t tell where his actual body was in the oversized hoodie, but the hoodie itself looked extremely soft.
throughout the entire exchange, his face had remained remarkably blank. he’d pretty much just asked you out, and showed little outward reaction. you damn well hoped his heart was beating as fast as yours. you came to the conclusion that he simply shows little on his face. still, you had little to go off of so you took this observation lightly.
he soon straightened out, holding another vanilla ice cream. it looked the same as all the rest, but he’d chosen it specifically from the back. this was a game of luck, and he’d chosen with his eyes closed in the end.
“follow me?” he asked, nodding to where reo was sitting, pretending as though he hadn’t been trying in vain to hear everything said.
you looked around the building, and no one seemed to need you. the bright windows showed no one stopping either so you agreed and followed the boy to his chair.
suddenly, you stopped. half-way to his chair, you’d remembered that you didn’t even know his name. he looked to be about your age, but that was all you knew.
“what’s your name?” you asked, feeling dumb for not asking earlier. “if i’m going on a date with you, i should at least know that.” you swallowed. “and your number?”
nagi nodded, clearly not having thought that far ahead either. “i’m nagi seishiro. what’s your name?” he handed you his phone so you could exchange numbers.
“huh.” you said, carefully. “nice name. i’m /y/n/.” you handed back his phone, having entered his contact name in your phone as his legal name.
still in his swivel-chair, reo had been watching you two from the reflection of the window he was seated in front of.
while you two walked back to him, reo stifled a laugh at the fact that you had just given each other your names.
“well.” you said after walking the 10 remaining steps. “let’s see!”
you really did hope he’d win. otherwise, it’d be up to you to ask him out anyway.
nagi tried to eat as politely, and quickly as possible. while he wasn’t exactly a messy eater, he didn’t want to seem gross.
while nagi carefully ate, you found yourself looking at his purple-haired friend next to him, watching you as well. you accidentally met each other’s gaze and he gave a good-natured laugh.
“he probably can’t hear us.” he said, a smile taking over his face.
he held out a hand. “it’s mikage reo, can i get your name? i go to school with nagi.”
oh. he was heir to a shit-ton of money.
reo saw the gears in your brain making the connection, and having already dealt with this many a time, his response was calm.
he gave a little laugh and spoke calmly. “it’s fine.”
you were embarrassed over your pause, but continued. “i’m /y/n/.” you said warmly, before turning back to nagi who was just finishing. he held it close to his face, but you saw his upper body puff up, in anticipation.
suddenly, you saw a sigh of relief as he turned to you, eyes shining bright and face tinted a barely noticeable shade of light red.
“look. i won.” his gaze made it’s way to your own, and you gave a little laugh, a smile appearing on your face.
“i think we both won.”
that made the edges of his mouth curl up into a tiny, barely noticeable smile.
“it was amazing!” reo said, almost yelling in excitement.
ba-ya nodded her head in amusement. “you may want to keep your voice down, young master reo. your poor parents will have no idea what’s happening!”
reo shrugged. “sorry ba-ya. i didn’t realize how fun it was to be a wing-man. i should do this more often!”
during all of this, nagi sent reo a panicked message.
> i said i’d pick them up tomorrow and it’d be a surprise.

— intermission
summary: you go to reo’s house for a movie night. during one particularly dull moment, the late night forced out a question that had long been on your mind.
warnings: mikage reo x gn! reader, blue lock not mentioned, sfw, reo becomes the biggest flirt, reo carrie’s you, 1.3k words, pure fluff
you jogged up the steps to reo’s ‘house’, shivering in your light jacket. once at the door, you rung the doorbell a few too many times, anxious to get inside and away from the relentless cold winds. you’d been to his home many times and your awe pertaining to his family’s wealth never fades.
“would you like me to get the door, young master reo? your friend is here.” ba-ya called out to the purple haired boy.
“thanks ba-ya. i’ll get the door for them.” reo responded, rushing to get to the door wanting to greet you first. he swung open the door and pulled you inside, shutting the door swiftly so as not to let more of the cold air in.
“t-thanks reo.” you said, pulling off your shoes and hanging up your jacket. “am i late?”
“well we’re not on a time limit. but, no.” he answered, guiding you to his room to prevent you from getting lost. “was it cold?”
“yeah. i walked here and nearly died.” you gave an exaggerated shiver.
“come on. my room’s much warmer!” he flashed a bright smile, bringing far too much color back into your cheeks.
you followed him into his room, and you swore your mind was playing tricks on you. how many turns were there again? you decided that without reo, you’d get lost in his mansion forever.
once there, you ignored the enormity of his room as you always tried to do, wanting to spare him the obvious and awkward questions.
instead, you noticed the couch pulled closer to his huge tv. you ran over to it once you noticed the blankets folded on it’s side. as you expected, they were insanely soft.
“do you want to make popcorn?” he asked, thinking it bets to have something to snack on during the movie, whatever was chosen.
“yeah. i’ll make it for us both.”
he nods with a smile. “deal. follow me.”
you follow close behind him again, and end up in the kitchen after walking for far too long.
considering you’d only been there a few times, you had no idea where to find anything in his kitchen. “reo.”
the purpled-hairs boy had been sitting on his counter scrolling through his phone. “what’s up?”
you cringed. “where are the pots? and popcorn?”
“oh” he laughed, pulling everything out from their designated cabinets. “when you’re done, just leave them in the sink.”
you nod your head and turn on the stove. it’s a short job, and you leave it up to the oven not long after.
“you did awesome at your game yesterday.”
he gave a grateful smile, bowing his head. “thanks, i’m glad you could make it.” his voice gave away the honesty in the statement, your heart leaped knowing that he really was glad you were there.
“yeah, your second goal was probably the best in the game.” you say, pleased to see his eyes light up.
“thanks! me and nagi have been working on that play for a couple weeks.”
soon, the popcorn had completed its popping and at least 90% was popped. you gave it a minute of careful studying before dumping it all in a bowl and setting everything you used in the sink, which seemed to clean dishes automatically.
he guided you into his room quickly, him happily holding the bowl of popcorn.
“what movie do you wanna watch?” he asked, sitting in the very middle of the couch scrolling through his favorite streaming service that you failed to recognize.
“not sure.” you said, muffled by the blankets. you were trying to bury yourself underneath the monstrous pile of comfort. “your choice, whatever sounds best.”
“okay.” he clicked on a random movie he’d once heard of, and skipped the trailer.
it was some kind of romance where the two love interests met in college. it didn’t sound all that interesting, but reo chose it based on its high reviews.
the beginning of the movie had been tame. you two had finished the popcorn early on, and were both sitting criss-cross-applesauce on the couch. you were both resting on the couch’s backboard, the blankets beneath you instead of over your legs.
it was almost exactly in the middle of the 3 hour-long movie that it got interesting. you and reo sat on the edge of the couch, leaning closer to the tv as if that would make the moment even more intense.
you’d both begun to feel passionately about the characters rather then the plot, and this moment was high-stakes for your shared favorite.
he grabbed your arm and lightly shook it as if it would emphasize the moment.
and then, it was over.
reo let go of your arm and release a large sigh of relief as everything turned out fine.
too fine.
in the minutes after, the movie went downhill. it had clearly peaked far too early, and had begun to fall flat.
soon, you had groaned for the third time and reo had apologized for his choices for the second.
you quickly became all too aware of the silence. unfortunately, you took it upon yourself to fix it.
it was probably the boredom. or you just wanted to break the silence. maybe it was the late night.
either way, a horrible question was dragged up from the depths of your mind.
“have you ever dated anyone?” you asked.
shit. of course he had.
he was mikage reo after all. he was heir to a ridiculously huge company. he had good grades, he was athletic, and was friendly to everyone.
then there was his looks, which did nothing but increase howamazing he was.
“ho, i guess not.” he turns to face you, eyes obviously serious in the room’s darkness. “why?”
“huh. i’d have thought you’d dated many people. you’re so good-looking it’s kinda weird.” you froze. you could have sworn you were never that bad with words.
“wait, sorry—that sounded mean.”
“i guess.” he pauses. “i’m waiting for someone.”
“oh. so you do want to date someone?”
“yeah.” he clears his throat, only thought in his head being; ‘fuck it.’ he turns to face you.
“you.”
wait. fuck.
that should have been much more romantic. he curses himself out, face burning with an awkward, but hopeful smile.
“i’d date you too.” you say, trying to avoid eye contact.
‘well.’ reo thought, ‘this could certainly be made more romantic.’
his hand moved to hold the side of your face. he was aware of his probably bright-red face, but that only made his smile larger. the movie is long forgotten as he uses his other hand to lightly pull your shoulder, bringing you even closer.
you manage to compose yourself for just long enough to wrap your arms around his torso, forcing him to meet you in the middle.
the two of you let yourselves fall back against each other as your hands meet and intertwine. in the warmth and subtle background noise of the movie, you allow yourself to comfortably fall asleep on his shoulder.
reo fell asleep not long after you, his hand never leaving yours.
when the movie ended though, he knew he couldn’t stay in the same position for the rest of the night. he was aware that his shoulder likely wasn’t the softest pillow.
it had already been decided that you would be sleeping over, and he had asked for an entire bed to be brought in for you.
slowly removing himself from your hold, he silenced his laughter as you fell sideways onto the couch as your support left.
then came the best part. he carefully picked you up from the blanket to which you’d been on. he was meticulous to make sure you didn’t hit anything and he slowly lifted you up, and carried you over to the second bed.
your sleeping expression had remained content and still the entire time, giving him a proud sense of accomplishment when he found he hadn’t woken you up.
he lifted a fluffy blanket over most of your body, and quietly walked to his own bed, allowing your dreams to replay the events of the night.

— special
summary: you always thought you were special to reo
warnings: mikage reo x gn reader, poorly written light angst, sfw, reader goes to hakuho, unrequited love, nagi seishiro did nothing wrong, 0.7k wc
if anyone asked, you would have said you were close to mikage reo. the two of you had been friends for years, and still going strong.
maybe you even would have said you were special to him.
the smiles he aimed in your direction made your heart flutter. his grin never failed to brighten your day, somehow managing to improve your mood in a short glance.
he often partnered up with you in class for projects. you weren’t the best in class, but somehow reo’s eyes almost always landed on you when it was announced you were to choose your own partners. he chose to be with you, and you were never complaining.
you worked well together.
needless to say, you were down bad for mikage reo. and small part of you, a stupidly hopeful part, thought there may have been just the slightest chance that these feelings were reciprocated.
“who’s he?” you asked reo, gesturing at the tall, distracted boy stood next to your friend.
“nagi seishiro.” he replied. “i didn’t tell you about this, but we’re gonna win the world cup together!”
“since when do you play football?”
“well, i don’t really play football. yet.” he said, obviously excited. he pulled at the shoulder of nagi’s uniform, tearing his attention from his phone.
“you made me die.” he said, not even bothering to hide his boredom.
“nagi, you should join our studying.” he nodded at you, as if asking for permission. you quickly smiled and nodded back. “i’m curious about how you study considering you never take notes.”
“huh? i don’t really study.” nagi responded flatly.
“how are you out-scoring me?” reo asked, appalled.
“i dunno. i read the textbooks if it’s important.”
besides laughing when appropriate, you weren’t a part of their conversation. they seemed to converse so easily, even if they had just met. you credited reo, and the fact that they just seemed to be good together.
“we can sit at this table here.” reo said, pointing at a rectangular table in the library.
“okay.” the quiet one said, choosing a seat to sit down in before pulling out his books and phone. he agreed to go, but blatantly planned to study as little as possible.
“mhm.” you said, walking behind reo as he chose the seat next to the other. you sat across from him and pulled out your books as well.
what you thought would just be studying with a bit of conversation, quickly turned into a largely one-sided conversation between the other two at your table.
you were there, but not to reo.
from there, it only got worse. the two of them spent practically all their free time practicing.
reo still spoke to you as if it was no different. nothing about how he treated you changed, and you hoped he could say the same about you.
it was okay for the most part.
until he approached you after class.
“hey! can we talk?” he yelled as he caught up to you in the halls.
“yeah, okay.” you said, turning to face him. “what’s up?”
“how do you think nagi views me?” he asked, face flushed. you hoped it was from running.
“i think he thinks highly of you.” you responded.
a pretty smile grew on his face. “great, thanks.”
he started walking forward, waving his hand as an invitation for you to walk alongside him.
nagi was walking in the opposite direction, his eyes buried in his phone. once reo spotted him, he walked over, shoulders pushed back in confidence. “hi nagi.” he said happily.
“hey.” nagi said, tearing his eyes from the manga he’d been reading. “are they moving practice again?”
“no. i was just wondering about that move you did yesterday. where you trapped it from the side.” reo and nagi began walking in the opposite direction reo came from.
you stood still and silent as they walked right past you.
you’d always thought you were special to him, to reo. but based on the way he was looking starry-eyed at the white-haired boy in a way you’d never seen him look at you, you felt tears prick at your eyes as you realized he’d always thought different.

— candy apple
bachira meguru x reader | 0.7k
you seemed upset, and bachira wanted to help
bachira had been counting throughout the day—and you’d barely smiled the whole time. he was able to count the amount of smiles you had cracked on his hands.
he decided this was unusual of you, especially when you hardly laughed at his antics. he’d upped the absurdity of his actions and clearly, you either had been too spaced out to notice, or just plain didn’t care.
a half-lucky break was that you probably weren’t mad at him. while you had barely smiled at him, the same applied to everyone else. with a bit of relatively-secretive observation, bachira figures you likely weren’t mad at anyone.
not at all used to this, and upset that you were clearly upset, bachira needed a plan. and finally, one came to him as he peered into the hand of the girl in front of him, and saw her about to eat an apple.
as soon as the bell sounded, bachira ran through the crowd of students to make his way to you before you were able to leave.
once caught up, he got your attention by lightly holding your shoulder, prompting you to turn around confused.
“huh-?” you recognized him as your friend and your face settled. “oh, meguru. hi.”
“hi!” he waved, before walking through the crowd checking behind him every once in a while to make sure you were following and keeping up.
once out, he stopped and turned to you. “wait here please!”
“okay.” you responded, confused.
as he ran off to do whatever it was he thought of, you sat down on the bench he’d stopped in front of. no matter how confusing, he was certainly considerate.
you weren’t angry—at anyone. well, maybe you were, at yourself. you hadn’t slept much and it all had built up. you sort of crashed that day, and it was obvious bachira had noticed.
no matter how tired you were though, you couldn’t help but smile at his oh-so obvious attempts to make you do so.
running up the block, bachira had a set destination in mind. he’d run to the train station, and if he was lucky, he’d find a stand selling candied apples.
it had happened before, him finding them on the day he knew he wanted something sweet of their sort.
along the way, he passed the store he knew his mom had sent him to go to after school—but, this was somehow more important. you weren’t happy and why wouldn’t he do what he could to help?
still, he mentally crossed his fingers that he wouldn’t forget and be sent back by his mom later.
after a bit more running, he came to a halt in front of the train station. finally having arrived. walking through the door and looking around, a grin grew on his face as his eyes landed on exactly the stand he was looking for.
one exciting transaction later, bachira had a candied apple in both hands, took a bite of the one in his left, and began for where he never doubted you’d be waiting on the bench.
bachira quickly returned to you, happy to see you on the bench scrolling on your phone.
“hey!” he yelled from afar, causing you to glance up from his contact open on your phone. you had spent the last few minutes contemplating calling him and asking if he was coming back. it was with a pleasant relief that he was, though in no way a surprise.
once he made his way to you, you waved and smiled—just making bachira’s smile even bigger. “hi, i thought you weren’t coming back.”
his lips pursed as if offended. “of course i’d come back.” he laughed and held out the candy apple from his right hand. your eyes lit up just a bit upon accepting, forcing bachira to rub his eyes in confirmation.
you nodded. “right, you would.”
“i’ll walk you home?” he offered. the two of you didn’t live all that far apart, and you were happy to accept.
“yeah.” you unknowingly grinned as you spoke, and bachira mentally gave himself a pat on the back.
