Try to learn shortcuts for big-number calculations, roots, as well as long solutions. This will save you time because aspirants waste their time doing fundamental calculations. As you gain speed in easy questions level up to moderate as well as difficult questions. Practice 5 questions of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry as they are considered one of the most difficult and lengthy topics.

The reasoning is a tricky section of the examination you may think that you gave the correct answer for all the questions and end up scoring negative marks. It can be one of the scoring sections with the correct preparation strategy. For solving reasoning questions, the applicant needs to have a depth understanding of directions (NEWS). Preparation Tips for General Awareness
The main issue candidates face with the General Awareness section is the range of topics it covers. The General Awareness section consists of questions from history, politics, current affairs, important events, general science, geography, and economics.
A lot of candidates leave this subject for the last few weeks before the exams and end up leaving half of the topics because of lack of time. Don't make this mistake keep studying topics as per their weightage since the initial day of preparation. For current affairs and significant events keep yourself updated with the latest news and read magazines. To prepare for general science, history, polity, and another study from the NCERT as they have all the fundamentals. Don't forget to attempt the Previous year's question papers they will be a huge help in the examination.

Do you know the easiest way to prepare for SSC CGL?
No to Guess Work: Absolutely avoid any guesswork as negative marking is the main point to be kept in mind as far as competitive exams are concerned.
Every year, the SSC CGL exam is held to recruit candidates for various Grade 'B' and 'C' posts in various departments and ministries of the Government of India. This year the Commission has announced April 2022 as the tentative date for Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL. The process of getting selected is also very long as there are 4 Tiers in the SSC CGL examination.
How to Start the preparation?
Time management and smart work are essential for success in the Preliminary Examination. Be true to yourself. We all are aware of our weaknesses and strengths. Just accept them and keep working hard on your weakness and improve your strength.
Through this article, I am sharing some general tips that will help you to devise a strategy required to ace the exam.
Maintain a current understanding of the SSC CGL Exam Pattern and Syllabus: You must understand the syllabus and strategize accordingly.
Choose the right books: NCERT books are essential and comprehensive enough to complete the course. When you read NCERT books from class 6th to 10th, notably Science and Mathematics, you will gain a conceptual and basic understanding.
Previous Year Papers: Refer to the previous year's papers as they keep you in sync with the trend of the examination. This will help you in the revision of the hot topics related to the exam and you will find out where you are lagging behind.
Work smartly: You must create a proper and realistic timetable so that there should be separate time slots for the different sections according to your weak and strong sections/topics.
Mock Tests are the ultimate way to succeed: Consider various preparation sources and practice more and more to make your preparation stronger. The more you practice the more you develop the understanding. Attending a Mock Test is better than reading a single topic 10 times, especially for the Aptitude section. I personally recommend you to visit the Testwale website as they are having SSC CGL Free Test Series prepared by the subject experts.
Revise what you have learned: You must revise the notes that you prepared while studying on a regular basis this will help you to retain the knowledge.
Some mistakes students make while examination should be avoided, such as:
Not Reading Questions Completely: This is the most common mistake made by the students in the examination. In a hurry to solve questions on time, they don’t read questions clearly and end up making mistakes. This problem can cause frustration and then it becomes a herculean task to identify where you went wrong.
Avoid Shortcuts in Quant Section: If you have practised a specific shortcut or trick on many questions during your preparation, go ahead and use it. However, if you have just read a shortcut or a trick during the final stage of your preparation, avoid using it in the exam because you do not know the conditions under which this particular shortcut can be used. Solve the problem the traditional way, even if it takes longer.

It is of utmost importance to have a strategy to use the knowledge and apply it effectively so that the attempt can be converted into the final selection. Some important suggestions about making the right strategy for exam preparation:
Have a thorough understanding of questions asked in the Previous Year Papers of UPSC.
For effective utilisation of time in completing syllabus, the Plan should be distributed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis with particular emphasis on Daily Target based Study Plan.
Sticking to a single source for any subject/topic and revising that source instead of doing the same thing from multiple sources.
Must involve practising questions of the previous year papers of all the exams conducted by UPSC such as CDS, CSE etc. especially of past 2-3 yrs. As the questions also get repeated from the same topics asked previously but in a different format.
Be more precise on what to study as a subject like Accountancy, Labour laws, Social Security etc. requires only basic understanding. We suggest without dwelling much stick to the fundamentals.
The English and Quant part is also very important. Practice here is the real key, and if prepared well, this part helps fetch good marks.
The strong resemblance with the syllabus of UPSC CSE, State PCS and exams like RBI Assistant, SSC CGL etc., provides a wonderful opportunity to any aspirant who is seeking to grab a top job profile in the Govt sector.
We suggest the following books and resources for your preparation:
Subjects Book List Indian Freedom Struggle India’s Struggle for Independence by Bipan Chandra A Brief History of Modern India (Spectrum) NCERT Class XII: Modern Indian History Indian Polity M. Laxmikant Indian Economy NCERT Class XI: Indian Economic Development Indian Economy by Ramesh Singh (Selective Chapters) Current Events and Developmental Issues The Hindu Indian Express Govt publications such as -Kurukshetra and Yojana magazine PIB etc. General English The examination seeks to evaluate a candidate’s understanding of English language and regular use of words. The suggested booklist for Vocabulary is “Word Power Made Easy”, “30 Days”, for Grammar are “Basic English Grammar” and “Intermediate English Grammar” by Raymond Murphy, and “Cambridge Phrasal Verbs Dictionary”. Computer Application Stick to NCERT books on Accountancy of Class XI and XII General Accounting Principles Stick to NCERT books on Accountancy of Class XI and XII Quantitative Aptitude and General Mental Ability Tata McGraw Hill CSAT manual Verbal and Non-Verbal reasoning by R.S, Agarwal Industrial Relations + Labour Laws + Social Security EPFO website Ministry of Labour and Employment Website Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry of Women and Child development Ministry of Finance
We at Gradeup have also come with a full-fledge course, providing with a complete guide to prepare for the exam. Here you get online courses, live classes, quizzes, mock tests, study notes, weekly assessment and also the opportunity to clear your doubts in the special sessions.
At last, some crucial tips:
Revision is the key! Do it multiple times. We suggest after you learn, try recalling as recalling empowers memory and hence chances of mistakes in the exam is avoided.
Stick to what you have already covered. Do not attempt to absorb any new content or learn new topics a week before the examination.
When exam approaches, spend more time going through mock tests and also analyse the mistakes that you commit in these.
We wish you all the best for the exam preparation.
