Roger Atkins - the founder of the consultancy, Electric Vehicles Outlook Ltd, and host of the Electric and Eclectic podcast - had spent the previous five years travelling the globe as something of an electric vehicle evangelist.  His talk at the University of Bath back in 2020, by contrast, was titled: 
Mass adoption of electric vehicles would be a big mistake. 
"It went down badly," he admits to LinkedIn News Europe three years on. "Someone even accused me of taking money from oil companies." But Atkins, who still runs Electric Vehicles Outlook and hosts his podcast, stands by it.
If we really want to save the planet, the solution isn't manufacturing 70 million EVs, it is re-evaluating whether we need to drive altogether.  "We cannot make 70m electric vehicles a year –  each of them with a 60kw battery, with the current mining capability that exists on the planet. If we try to do that, we're going to have to dig up half of Indonesia and mine the ocean floor," he said. 
EV batteries use substantial amounts of minerals including copper, cobalt, nickel, rare earth and lithium. Since 2015, EVs and battery storage have surpassed consumer electronics to become the largest consumer of lithium, making up 30% of demand. By 2040, the International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that demand for lithium could be 13 times higher.

For Atkins, that means EVs cannot be the future of transport. Or at least, not the future of individual transport. Instead, the world needs to (...) ... yes, stop (people) driving their own cars.
Creating EVs instead of petrol vehicles is only replacing one bad habit with another, Atkins says. "Of course it is going to p*ss people off. Of course people like to drive. But we live on a resource constrained planet," he says. "We need a paradigm shift."

15th December 1900. An investigation subsequently concluded that it was on this day, probably in the afternoon that the three Keepers of the year old Flannan Isles Lighthouse disappeared.
On December 7th, 1900, Donald MacArthur, Thomas Marshall, and James Ducat arrived at the Flannan Isles lighthouse to begin their two-week rotation as keepers of the lighthouse. The Superintendent of Lighthouses, Robert Muirhead came with them to do a routine check of the lighthouse and speak to the men. He made certain that everything was in working order. He then spoke with James Ducat about some difficulties they were having with the heavy mist that commonly surrounded the island. The men then said goodbye to the Superintendent and he left.
The lighthouse was regularly monitored from the mainland by telescope. This way, if there were an emergency, the men could signal for help. Unfortunately, there was the problem of the mist. The lighthouse was seen on December 7 and December 12th. The lighthouse was also seen on December 15, by a passing ship. The crew noted that the light was not shining, as it should have been. It was not seen from land again until the 29th, well after the men should have ended their rotation.
The ship that was to deliver the men’s relief and bring them home from the Flannan Isles lighthouse was delayed until December 21st, because of a run of bad weather. When the ship, the SS Hesperus, arrived at Eilean Mor, the men on board expected to see a flag flying to indicate that the keepers had noted their arrival and would be deploying a rowboat to retrieve their relief. However, the flag was not flying, nor did the men respond to a siren. A landing craft with two men on board was launched from the SS Hesperus with two men on board.
When the two men reached Eilean Mor, one man, Joseph Moore, went up to check the lighthouse for the three missing men. He found the entrance locked. He unlocked the door and entered to find the Flannan Isles lighthouse unmanned. The clock on the wall had stopped. No fire was in the grate, nor had one been there for a few days. Oddly, there was a meal sitting at the table. It looked like someone had set it down with the intention of eating it soon, but left it untouched.
Whatever had happened to the men, it happened to them suddenly. There was nothing anyone could do about it with so few clues. So four men, including Moore, stayed on the island to operate the lighthouse while everyone else left.
The records of the three Flannan Isles Lighthouse Keepers were subsequently inspected. It was discovered that Eilean Mor was hit with a strong storm on December 14. The last entry was made on the afternoon of December 15. It simply stated:
“Storm ended, sea calm. God is over all.”
Superintendent Muirhead concluded that the men must have been taken by nature when they left the lighthouse to repair storm damage to a storage container outside. One of his theories (the most likely) was that a large wave came upon the men while they were working and swept all three of them into the Atlantic Ocean, where they died. This the story my Uncle Eric believes to be true, he worked on Flannan and many other lighthouses during the work to automate them all in the 1980′.  Muirhead, wrote in his official report:
“I am of the opinion that the most likely explanation of this disappearance of the men is that they had all gone down on the afternoon of Saturday, 15 December to the proximity of the West landing, to secure the box with the mooring ropes, etc and that an unexpectedly large roller had come up on the island, and a large body of water going up higher than where they were and coming down upon them had swept them away with resistless force.
I visited them as lately as 7th December and have the melancholy recollection that I was the last person to shake hands with them and bid them adieu”.
Muirhead’s theory is largely regarded as truth. The only other alternatives seem to be that the men left of their own accord, they were kidnapped, or some other ludicrous speculation. Unfortunately, the bodies were ever recovered, so there is no way to be sure.
In the years following, other keepers claimed to hear voices in the salty air screaming out the names of Thomas Marshall, James Ducat, and Donald McArthur.
In “Mysterious Celtic Mythology in American Folklore”, author Bob Curran writes: “For many local people, there was little doubt that they had been spirited into the otherworld.”

Design sheet for Sparkling Sea!
Name: Sparkling Sea
Pronouns: She/her
Likes: Scavengers, small creatures, shiny things (especially pearls), the ocean, talking with others
Dislikes: Silence, being alone, being teased or taunted, being treated as lesser then others, the idea of a desert, senseless violence
History: The middle child of the local group, Sea was made after GFoG. She was built to be a communications facility, amplifying communications across the ocean for easier broadcasting. Because of this, she has access to many communications most iterators would not, and records many of the chats in her large pearl storage.
After the construction of MiM, Sea became incredibly protective of her younger sibling, taking a sisterly role to the younger iterator. She butted heads with ESS over this fact for a period of time, as he was the official older brother of MiM, but eventually he relented.
As communications began to dwindle, SS turned her focus to a scavenger colony growing on the coast near her facility. She sent overseers to teach them about item crafting, how to build tools and explosives, and eventually how to build boats. One brave scavenger made it to her chamber, and she granted it the mark of communication as well as her blessing to remain on the coast, as long as they brought her any colored pearls they found; they could keep the dull ones. The scavenger agreed, and the colony has had quite a good relationship with her ever since.
Sometime afterwards, her overseers detected a slugpup that had somehow made it halfway up her superstructure, along with a citizen ID drone that had imprinted on it. Her overseers led it to her chamber, where she planned to detach the ID drone and send the pup back to its family. However, the pup was adamant about keeping the ID drone, and, with no nearby slugcat colonies for it to belong to, SS agreed to keep it around.
The Merchant proved to be surprisingly intelligent and learned quickly, eventually learning bits of the scavenger language, and becoming a transporter of colored pearls from the scavenger colony to Sea. She grew very attached, and considers the Merchant to be her pride and joy.
Personality: Sparkling Sea is friendly, personable, and the life of the party. She loves nothing more then a long-winded conversation that goes all sorts of places. She’s also very determined, and will rarely drop an idea once she has her heart set on it.
However, she’s not always calm waters. When angered, she becomes ruthless and stubborn, willing to deliver scathing insults of an incredibly personal degree. Being a nosy gal has its perks, after all!

Here are all of my current OC’S (Or at least my favorites and most used)
I have 10 Transformers OC’s and 1 TMNT. 
We have top right, SPEC the purple one who is an Autobot Engineer. 
Electrifier the green who is an Autobot predacon who turns into a tiger for her beast mode.
Bottom right is twins Dark Fire and Night Light. They are Autobots and used to work in a library/storage facility of all Cybertronian data which is why they are not as well armored. They also have wires exposed because they use to just link themselves into the computers.
Bottom left is Super Sound the pink, who is a neutral. Pre war SS was an entertainer hence the speakers. 
Senka Bellator the gray, also neutral, post war she is a mercenary for hire. She is not amused with this heart trend because she has no proper hands. 
And Twister the dark blue, she is the only Decepticon. She pretty much hates everyone and everything but somehow this wacky group of misfits managed to convince her they are not so bad. Though she leans more towards hanging with Senka since she also is not amused by most of life's trivial things. 
Then in the middle left we have Aqua, she was built by humans to try and compete with cybertronian technology and is an AI. The Autobots got a hold of her and gave her some more Cybertronian intelligence and history, now she is one of them. Since humans made her she runs on water not energon, and in her chest is the water compartment that is her life source. 
The small one is Blue Raptor, she is also an Autobot Predacon and turns into a bird. 
The white one on the right middle is Mist. She used to be a Decepticon medic, but switched sides to become an Autobot medic instead. 
Top left is my TMNT OC Maya, she was a human that became mutated into a giant hognose snake mutant. And just thought to throw myself in too, because I had the extra spot lol.
