I don't want to derail OP's post but unionizing also works for other things besides work. (It wouldn't be called unionizing in that case but it's a similar thing)
I'm paying $10,000 a year for housing at my college. Our power kept going out and the school was not helpful in fixing it. They would send someone to fix it (which took hours to days) and then it would immediately break again. This went on for five and a half months. The longest it took someone to come and fix it was five days. Most of our rooms didn't have windows either so we were living in complete darkness for almost a week. I was filing multiple maintenance reports a week, sometimes just hours after they "fixed it," explained repeatedly to the maintenance workers that something bigger than the breaker was wrong, emailed my student councilor, emailed my RA, and emailed the head of student housing all to no avail.
Finally, a worker told me that the problem was coming from the room next to ours. I didn't believe that so I went over to talk to them. They were having similar problems and were told it was coming from our room. They also were frustrated with the school's lack of response so I said we should get our housing deposits back. Why should we pay thousands of dollars to live in the dark and have our problems dismissed?
So I emailed the head of housing again giving her an ultimatum; saying that either they actually fix the problem or give us our deposits back (which would cost the school about $78,000. It isn't really that much tho because the annual tuition for one student is about $62,000 and they have over 12,000 students. So it would come out to slightly over one kid dropping out for them). All six of us signed off on it. I got a response saying that the school couldn't give any of our money back, but the problem was permanently fixed within a week.
So it doesn't always have to be in the workplace but talking to people around you when you have a problem and standing together is much more affective than trying to fight by yourself
I’m so hyped about the sag-aftra & wga strikes, while I slowly but surely work to organize my own workplace. It can be so, so hard for us to keep up the momentum but every time something like this happens and draws attention, it’s like a new wave of hope. Supporting and drawing attention to this strike is also setting the tone for other industries on the cusp of their own unionizing, so keep spreading the support!

are you a ddlg or kink blog? no. my blog is 99% sfw. i reblog pix of lingerie sometimes.
frequently asked questions: see here.
feeling suicidal? see this post here.
can you recommend some pink/pastel non-kink blogs? sure! to see all the blogs im following click here. they’re like 99% pink/pastel/kfashion/kawaii :]
how do you make your edits?
typography edits: they’re 90% made on my phone. I mainly use the app phonto. if i’m making it on the computer i use pixlr and/or gimp.
manga edits: manga edits are always made using gimp. all you have to do it change the color settings. it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
about my gifs: i make them with piskelapp.com and gimp.
can i request an edit? yes when edit requests are open, otherwise probably not, sorry.
can i get a userbox? i no longer make userboxes, sorry.
can i request a moodboard? what’s your opinion on moodboards? no i don’t make moodboards, and in imho i think moodboards are bad because 99% of the time the people that make them dont credit the original owners’ of the images. as an artist myself i find it disheartening that someone could end up using one of my images/artworks that i worked so incredibly hard on just to end up on some moodboard and not receive any credit for it. lots of times these moodboard posts get thousands of notes meanwhile the original artist doesn’t receive any credit, isn’t recognized for their work, and they are more than likely a small artist so they could really benefit if they were credited for their work. tldr; i don’t like moodboards they are an excuse for reposting. where do you get your fonts from? 1001fonts, dafont, and fontspace. please don’t ask about where i got a specific font because i will 100% not remember where it was from lol sry.
do you have an instagram? yep! @peachflavoredtea.
i love your insta! can you follow me back? if you want me to follow you back just message me and tell me what your username is
where can i buy your designs? you can view my shop here.
do you mind if ddlg/cgl/cglre/kink/nsfw blogs follow or reblog from you? i don’t mind if you follow me just please don’t comment inappropriate things on my posts. it makes me uncomfortable. please respect that.
what are your other blogs? personal blog is @sweet-treats
why didn’t you answer my ask? there’s a few different reasons for this. either the topic has already been closed or it was probably rude, insensitive, or ignorant. i don’t respond to those types of asks. in addition to these reasons, sometimes i get asks that i’m not really sure how to answer. i try my best to answer all the asks i get because i know what it’s like to not have people respond to you. it bothers me when people do this, so i can understand how it feels to not have your asks answered. if i don’t answer your ask please don’t take it personally, especially if it was on anon. if it was a genuine question please feel free to ask me off anon. sometimes i am willing to answer a question, i just don’t feel comfortable answering it publicly. i hope that makes sense. update: lately i don't answer right away because i don't use tumblr as much as i used to and i apologize for that.
can i repost your photos? no. please do not repost any of my content. please do not repost anyone’s content. when you repost something you take away credit from the OP. some people work very hard on their stuff. it is not right or fair for you to steal their credit. if you like something, please reblog it. it also goes against tumblr’s guidelines.
what’s the difference between reposting and reblogging? reposting is when you take someone else’s content and upload it and post it as your own. it goes against tumblrs guidelines and you are taking away the credit from the OP. it doesn’t matter where you got the image from if it isn’t yours it is considered reposting. reblogging is when you click the little square with the double arrows button on a post to reblog it.
can i post one of your photos to a different social media? absolutely! just as long as you credit me :]
can i use your edit of ____ as header/icon? yes as long as you give me proper credit [in your description or if you have a credits section.] otherwise please do not use them. it isn’t fair to me that you are using something i worked hard on and then not crediting me for it. please respect that. thank you.
can you check out my blog? sure! as long as it is suitable for work. if you have a nsfw blog please do not ask me to check it out. i do not follow nsfw blogs. it makes me uncomfortable. please respect that.
follow back rules: please do not ask me to follow you back. instead, ask me to check out your blog and i will do so happily. if you are a similar blog i will more than likely follow you.
hey why did you unfollow me? it was either one of two things. either you changed your blog type or you became inactive for 2 or more months. if it was the latter and you are going to be active again, feel free to shoot me a message letting me know you’re back and i will follow you again :] update: actually if you went inactive and came back i would love to follow you again so please let me know you’re back so i can follow you again!!
why did you block me? it was probably because you said something inappropriate or negative on one of my posts or about me in general. i do not tolerate that type of behavior.
can you tag…? no im sorry. i tag posts that i post but it would be way too much work for me to tag all the posts i reblog. im sorry ;[ 90% of my blog is queued from people’s archives and if i started tagging everything it would get way too complicated. you might have even noticed in the past that a lot of things have been tagged improperly for this specific reason. my blog was created for my enjoyment. if i have to tag all the posts i reblog, it takes the fun out of it, and it also kinda stresses me out to make sure everything is tagged properly. if something i reblog bothers you please try to scroll past it and if you have to unfollow i understand.
how many followers do you have? way more than i ever imagined tbh.
hey can you promo me? the only time i promo people is if i’m doing a promo, which you have to follow the rules for, if you bought something from my closet or my store. you can always ask for a blog rate though! see how to get one below.
how to get a blog rating. click here.

YES YES YES.
(I already made a post about this a while ago, but I have still so many questions about this that I will use your post now - sry op)
The only explanation I had was that no one knew that Tarka was imprisoned by the Chain... but that seems unlikely. I mean if you take one good look at him - you see that scar. But I could imagine that Tarka never told anything about himself, especially not about his time in that work camp. And with how he keeps everyone away from him (because the last time he let someone get close shit hit the fan) maybe he really succeeded and no one knew he was a prisoner.
Because... it is really shitty and unresponsible from the federation to let them work together if you had knew that (I think). (Or the federation is just really DESPERATE™)
The other big question I have: Why the hell did Tarka and Aurellio played along with this? Especially Tarka?
I like to think that Tarka only said yes becaus in Aurellio he saw a chance to find out what really happened to Oros. Something that does not appear in any of the data Tarka searched through. (But Aurellio doesn't know shit)
And that leads me to the next question: what the hell happened to Oros and WHY WASN'T HE DECLARED DEAD BY THE CHAIN?! Because he said and I quote: "I've never found any record of Oros since. Alive or dead. Nothing." ????
Is it normal for the Emerald Chain to just let that happen and than do nothing?? What I'm getting from the flashbacks is that Oros was important to the Chain. So important that they wanted to take him with them when Oros and Tarka tried to escape. They gave him at least two work buddies to figure out this propulsion alternative. The cell they were in... it looks... spaceious and better than you expect. (It even has a little window)
But then that power surge happens and they abandoned that work camp... and Oros just disappears? Were they like: oh well he blew himself up - nothing we can do about it. Let's just forget that whole escapade. Were they embarassed that Oros and Tarka could flee so easily so they never talked about them again? If they thought he was dead (and that's very likely I think) why didn't they just say so? They could've simply said: Our most promising scientist died at the end of one log. End of story. But apparently not?? Just... nothing??
Were they even searching for Oros? They sure as hell didn't search for Tarka. Because how the actual fuck did that traumatised scientist who just left the love of his live behind survive that one week? Autopilot - okay. But why the fuck did no one find him? Were they like: well he is a risian scientist with a nasty wound in his neck. He will never survive on this planet. It's unnecessary to look for him. Isn't that careless as fuck?
Because Tarka somehow got off that planet, held a lecture about what he did for the Chain (read: he worked on behalf of the chain on finding a warp/dilithium alternative and the lecture Vance saw was about speculative propulsion and energy techologies) and was adopted by Starfleet. (And this happened all in the same year??? (That's the next big question I have: what excatly is the timeline here? Because from what info I gathered, Vance met Tarka ten years ago... but Tarka left that work camp a decade (hence ten years) ago??? Was Ruon 'fresh-outta-work-camp' Tarka like: all right let's do a lecture about what I did in that work camp, while it's still fresh. It's not like the Chain just lost two of their best scientists. It's not like giving a lecture brings you attention. ?!?!?! Is this just one giant plot hole or am I missing something???)
Or is Tarka so deep in denial that he just plain up ignored hints about Oros death because he was so sure that he made it to Kayalise? I think that's most likely. But I hate it. I hate that possibility so much. I am right next to Tarka in denial-land.
Oros made it to Kayalise. End of story.
Ok I got carried away. Let's get back on topic:
Why the actual fuck did Aurellio and Tarka work together?!
Aurellio is easy. He would've probably done almost everything for Starfleet because he felt guilty after finding out the truth about the Chain. And working with a brilliant scientist on recreating the spore drive? That's easy. (He didn't knew Tarka. Maybe he had a vague feeling of knowing him but nothing more than that. Than he randomly saw that scar and was like oh fuck. After that he did everything Tarka asked of him because ✨ guilt✨)
And Tarka? He said yes because on the one hand this is a great chance of getting intel from a former Chain scientist who was close to Osyraa so maybe he knew something about what happened to Oros. (He didn't) On the other hand... Aurellio is a good scientist and Tarka would do just about everything to find a way to Kayalise. If that means working with a former Emerald Chain member - well he is good at making people what he wants. And to get Aurellio as his errand boy? Well that could be helpful. (It was - he never had to talk to Stamets before the DMA (If Stamets and Tarka interacted before the threat of the DMA... I don't think this would've end well. Good thing Stamets husband is a doctor)
Vance, federation and starfleet on the other hand? I seriously don't know. Why did they put them together? Did they really don't know about Tarkas past? Did they just straight up ignored it? Did Tarka something so bad that this was his punishment? Or were they just desperate as fuck?
I honestly don't know.
(And of course Vance has full confidence that Tarka finds a way... because that fits their dynamic weirdly well. If we didn't know that Vance has a family that he loves dearly I would die on that hill that Vance was in love with Tarka. But given his marital status (and that he really seems to love them) I would say he was just absolutely blinded by Tarka and had.... a crush on his intellect? Does that make sense? Like he absoutely adored Tarka for his genius intellect and would've done just about anything to keep this brilliant man near him so he could continuously benefit from Tarkas intellect . He adored him so much that he believed Tarka could do anything. And Tarka obviously used this to his advantage.)
Ok. WHY. Did Vance (or whoever) think it was a good idea to have Aurellio (former voluntary consultant scientist for the emerald chain) and Tarka (former involuntary and imprisoned consultant scientist for the emerald chain) work together on the spore drive? That's. Such a... WHY.
Also. Vance's full confidence in Tarka being able to find a way to get the next generation spore drive working without a navigator is... interesting.
