Happy one year ago 🦄 ! I’m still so proud of my wife, @pineapple.yogi ‘s performance at this race and everything leading up to it. I ran a really tough and warm race in 2017 at the @chimarathon to qualify for this race and the first thing she told me was “I want to go to Boston with you.” “Not to cheer, but to run it side by side with you. Coach me.” Fast forward: not only did she qualify at the 2018 #srichinmoymarathon (her first marathon ever) 10 months later, running 4 minutes faster than the necessary qualifying time, but she went on to running a 4 minute personal record at the 2019 @bostonmarathon (her second marathon ever). If there is anything to take away from this story athletes, it’s #purpose, #focus, and #consistency . This year’s @berlinmarathon would be her third marathon ever. This is @nochevalle . He had just gotten back from Spain the night day/before my marathon. He came up the next morning with @no_ig_fred to cheer and pace support me and @inmyrunningshoes. We forgot to take a picture that day so this was a makeup one. Loop upon loop. More loops. 5 loops already? How is 7 loops feeling? 8 completed. Only 2.72 miles more. Done. Number 23 in the record books. More importantly @inmyrunningshoes got a pr by 15 minutes. Thank you to @abhifornow @chicka__boo for providing the best support after every loop and then running the last 2 loops with Tam to keep him going. I don't expect anything after races. For one, I'm not fast. Two, which is related to one, me part an awards ceremony? Nah. It was a shock to me that I was second in my age group at the #srichinmoymarathon. The organization was very kind in mailing the trophy. Above and beyond is all I can say about them.
