no wait actually it'd be funny as hell if the svsss otome game was stupidly accurate to the characters and nature of the novels. butterflies? romance? sure, but don't forget absolute crack induced mess with a hint of angst! allow me to demonstrate.

pursuing shen qingqiu: you're trying to pursue shen qingqiu? good fucking luck because he's dense as hell and will take multiple chapters to even realize you like him, nonetheless actually like you back. you're gonna have to witness his mental gymnastics first hand while attempting to flirt with him or literally showing any amount of affection. so, either you're gonna have to take it slow and wait for sqq to finally realize, or you're gonna have to be real damn obvious (and even then, he'll find up some excuse or not notice at all). sure, his affection meter will go up, but much.. slower than usual. considering his lack of care for "canon fodder" compared to lbh and pure denseness.

you won't be able to win. set your gender as female? no no, you're for lbh! he'd kill sqq for even daring to look at someone as beautiful as you! set yourself as male? whattt? he's not gay! no sir, no way! you may be attractive, but shen qingqiu is a perfectly normal and straight man!! this probably won't apply if the player sets themself as gn though lol

you'll probably get an option to clarify yourself every time you interact with him ngl. just to make sure he understands. drawbacks are making him think that you don't think he's capable of understanding things (if you say some corny ass romance shit he and sqh will not take it seriously)

pursuing liu qingge: prepare to keep your inventory open because the man will pop up out of buttfuck nowhere and gift you demonic beast heads as if they were a couple of treats! no explanation needed besides "..this is for you". then, he'll take off running or stand uncomfortably still watching you take in the bloody monster corpse as you try to formulate a proper response. respond in anything else but a thank you and a nice smile? liu qingge is confused and devastated and will not get over this moment. please just be nice to him from the start (unless you want a rivals to friends to lovers style romance). the poor guy is just so beautiful he hasn't been able to learn any proper social skills! he got it pretty easy, but now he's emotionally constipated. uh oh!

tell lqg he's cute? he's going to try and fight you. give lqg a little kiss? he's gonna punch you. in the face!! softly! ...with his own lips (whenever you do something to fluster lqg you won't be able to tell if combat mode got activated or not).

but that'll only be further on in the relationship, so just be ready to get into a duel with him because lqg cannot for the life of him understand the little butterflies in his stomach whenever he sees you. so thus, he believes he should take it out by fighting you or running away to slay beasts 5x faster than usual

please don't even get me started on shen jiu. just don't. you're probably going to want to punch him midway pursuing him.

"okay, we already know about sqq/sy, sj, sqh, lbh, etc! what about the other characters? characters that people don't talk about nearly as much. how would someone even work with them? how will they live up to them in true svsss crack fashion?" -you, probably

haha, you think characters like zhuzhi-lang and mu qingfang, etc, would be safe? they're in svsss out of all places!

sure, mu qingfang may be pretty relaxed (and bland, not a lot there, honestly. curse sqq's narration and lack of attention for anyone other than lbh) compared to the other pursuable characters, but he is a very busy doctor! a doctor that is literally living in a world with none of the technology and knowledge we have in the modern day, full of porn plants and a thing called dual cultivation which, I'm sure is pretty morally ethical.

the poor man is probably drinking away, having to deal with sending away yet another patient to live with a terrible illness which he cannot do anything about. having to see yet another helpless, pregnant teenage concubine who didn't have a say in anything. sure, magic exists, but do you think airplane really thought about shit like this? can you just imagine how fucked over mu qingfang must feel? his route would probably consist of him constantly feeling like he can never do enough, how he's pretty much a workaholic because that's the least he can give to the people and help others. and please, the dual cultivation. how can he, a healer, refuse?

what if he doesn't want it? save the person, and get it over with. mu qingfang is doing a good deed. he'll be a bad healer- no, a bad person if he doesn't do this. he doesn't want to be. please, he's doing his best.

if you're gonna pursue mu qingfang, just get ready because if i ever make a damn svsss otome game i will absolutely not hold back on the hurt and angst, no matter how silly it is. idk, if the character isn't character-ing enough i will make it work.

(oh and, gongyi xiao? head disciple with way too much pressure on him, expected to be the perfect student people look up to and congratulate. all while having to deal with the empty affection old palace master shows him, and the conflicting feelings of being with the little palace mistress. he never feels like he's good enough. fool's gold, really. oh, what'll happen when you, the player, snatches his poor heart away? why is it with you, he's able to feel like real gold instead of a mere fake?)

haha anyways moving on from that, zhuzhi-lang!

he doesn't know how romance actually works. he's just been fed really bad "romance" novels from tianlang jun and thus thinks that's how it goes. stalking? homicide? surely, that's just how it's supposed to be? why else would there be so many romance books containing that? well, if it's to reciprocate your feelings, okay (he just told tianlang-jun about one encounter with you, which resulted in him swooning about "young love" and gave really terrible advice to poor impressionable zhuzhi-lang)! who is he to go against his uncle?

you know how wack the two of them are, even if zhuzhi-lang is a good boy and tianlang-jun's a babygirl. just be careful around them. actually, be careful around everyone here because you're either going to get a headache or deal with lots of baggage. or both! (god forbid some masochist try to pursue mobei-jun or sha hualing)

yeah. god i am thinking about this way too much lord have mercy on me. this has literally put me in a chokehold. anyways in total the game would have to be true to the svsss spirit. crack but also kinda angsty now that we're not in sqq's pov. so, well, how about now would you guys try to get with the two most minor characters ever or..?

(also yes of course there will be a harem and poly routes make this shit as chaotic as possible fuck it)

please help i just had a dream where svsss was a dating sim. so, of course i tried pursuing shen qingqiu, but it ultimately backfired because suddenly he realized that he was in a dating visual novel?? and since i put myself as a guy, he just refused to show up to special in game events to avoid me interacting with him???

and obviously i was like "wtf why isn't he here?" when he didn't show up. then at some point i explored the area, and the screen suddenly zoomed in to show sqq talking to sqh (supposedly telling him all about the little situation). next thing i know, both of them are slowly turning their head to stare at the screen in pure and utter terror

also in some part of the dream, i think i did some liu qingge events or something and as his affection levels rose, he would continuously jump scare me by popping up out of nowhere and go, "its not like i like you or anything!!" while covered in blood and holding out a demonic beast head as if it were a box of treats

Vod Notes: I’m not normally one for modern AU’s, but there’s just something about aspiring CEO MBJ and flat out broke SQH somehow wiggling his way into his heart that gets to me. The characterizations in this story are flawless, and the customary Moshang miscommunication/misunderstanding had me tearing out my hair at several points, yelling at these two dumbasses; and that’s how you know it’s a good one. 9/10 because I experienced lots of stress while reading this, which actually is a sign of a fantastic story, I’m just really weak and pathetic and immerse myself in reading way too much, so actually 11/10! Depends on how you look at it I suppose lol

Summary: The one where Shang Qinghua suddenly becomes Prime Demon Marriage Material™ (bc of the LBH/SQQ marriage).

Vod Notes: somft. MBJ just loves SQH so very much, and SQH is pining ad dense as fuck. The perfect Moshang fic recipe. They are warm, soft, clueless idiots in this while still somehow being entirely competent, and we love to see that. SQH is a man made of contingency plans <3 I love it when authors do my son justice. 10/10

Stupid man. SQH we love you pls take care of yourself. You’re giving your husband grey hairs. A special treat toward the end with a MQF POV! My sexy doctor man is exasperated and done with everything. 10/10

Feed it to me slowly like grapes. 11/10

Luo Binghe is building a harem with Shen Qingqiu as his first, and honestly most terrifying, husband. Yet, Luo Binghe seems to be turning his eyes to Shang Qinghua as a possibility as well. Excuse you? What is this? He didn't sign up for this!

Vod Notes: holy fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck this one blew my entire mind! Not only do we have SQH looking out for number one (which is himself, bless you my son) when shit turns strictly bad, but we have a absolutely, one of a kind, PHENOMENAL badass SQQ who is supporting his bro and fucking shit up left and right and everywhere for Airplane’s sake. God. This was like drinking fine wine. Breathtaking, spectacular. My life has been changed. MBJ spends most of this being a big, sulky, upset mess but don’t worry, cucumberplane fixes that up themselves. LBH get’s put in time out by both his husbands (because this is LBH/SQQ/LQG), because he fucks up in this majorly and SQQ isn’t fucking happy and doesn’t let him get away with it just because he gives him the puppy eyes and I AM LIVINGGGGGGGGG!! TLDR: simply superb badass cucumberplane, sad boy MBJ hours, and LQG gets stuck with babysit the naughty demon king duty. VERDICT: umm?! 7000/10

Summary: Shang Qinghua is now well on his way to the same happily-ever-after that every protagonist gets, but two things stand in his way. The Queen's Trials, and a council that just won't give up. Too bad for them, they really don't know who they're dealing with.

Vod Notes: Sorry I can’t hear any of your questions over the loud, shrill screams of my absolute LOVE for this story. it’s not finished, no, but it’s set up in arcs per chapter, so I’m fine with waiting for the next one to come along, and so will you if you read this. Because, lemme tell you. Fucking amazing. An SQH who knows everything about the North? He’s God, dammit, why wouldn’t he? Using that to his advantage? Not just to prolong his life, but to legally win the right to marry MBJ. God, this story is just absolutely breathtaking. I was speechless when I got to the end of chapter one. The sheer level of worldbuilding! Catch me with actual hearts in my eyes. The small DETAILS! The magnificently built OCs! The culture, the writing! The character interactions! SQH goes around accidentally winning the lifelong loyalty of every badass, OP demon in the Northern realm.
