Hey there friends!!

Welcome to the SpringTrap and Deliah Rebooted tumblr!! This is where I’ll be posting my rewritten version of GraWolfQuinn’s SpringTrap and Deliah :]

(*Not at all affiliated with the other SaD rewritten blog I’ve seen on here; I do not know them or what they have planned for their rewriting but I wish them luck and look forward to see what they have in store ^^)

This comic is being made purely for fun and is currently in the process of being written :]

Thankfully, I already have a lot thought of and done and suspect I shall be able to move onto concept art and paneling very soon!

Another small disclaimer: this rewriting is quite different from the original. I expect it will be longer and with new characters too,, so all I ask is for kindness and to be understanding that quite a bit will be different!!

CW | GORE, BODY HORROR SPRINGTRAP REDESIGN

This took me like, 3 something hours lol I made this as both a general Springtrap redesign, and specifically for A Deceptive Calling. I borrowed some features of my Nightmare Springtrap Redesign for certain parts, otherwise I will be explaining more of my thought process per usual. 1. Added more skeletal features, as I felt the original FNAF 3 design lacked it, and that Scraptrap looks hideous as hell. One thing in particular was getting rid of his animatronic eyes and just leaving the eye sockets black. I took some inspo from the Reaper Leviathan in Subnautica, where if you can hear it, it can see you. Springtrap is similar with his signature breathing ambiance as he is already a sound based animatronic. 2. Around several parts of his body are exposed Springlocking mechanisms that are typically hidden underneath the suit, but its deteriorating condition has exposed them, leading them to rust in the damp environment of the saferoom. Using the hand-crank, the rings coil back into the frame of the suit allowing for someone to enter it, but snapping shut through failure, metal cares not for soft flesh and organs. Kept the springlock bloodstains too, just for fun

3. So, about those ankle gut things. I changed it to be Afton's surviving intestines which he wrapped around his feet as a morbid decoration out of sheer boredom. I mean, what else are you gonna do stuck in the back of a saferoom for 30 Years? You can also see some strands of flesh dangling from his ribcage and mid section, as I'd like to imagine that his organs hidden underneath the suit were insulated from immediate decay... However, his surviving organs are definitely rotten and smell HORRIFIC.

So yeah definitely went overkil

I and my boyfriend are making a new version of Springtrap and Deliah. We are doing this, I am literally working on it as we speak.

We're revising the main two characters mostly, but VERY heavy on fixing William, as well as Springtrap's uncomfortable dynamic with Deliah in general. The plan is to give Springtrap an ACTUAL redemption arc, fix some of the major weirdness and ways he acts towards Deliah, and make him less "creepy pred" in general.

We plan to take a different approach to "William Afton was just upset he couldn't get a family" that re-introduces his FNAF canon children, as well as possibly Clara, and to do some redesigning and recharacterization to fix the souls.

This is partially influenced by the current outing of Quinn's past behaviour, but NOT meant to be a direct attack to them, nor their fan base, if such a thing remains. It is simply due to the fact that I personally was affected by this comic.

I first read it at a young age. Springtrap's treatment of Deliah, a child near my age, influenced how I viewed those close to me. It made me complacent in an abusive relationship with someone very similar to him.

Despite this, I and many others have fond memories of this comic, and the fanworks that followed it. I'd like to remake it for the newer generations of fnaf fans, whom I adore very much, and fix the messaging to hopefully teach younger fans that his behaviour is not normal or okay, or to be justified because "he is struggling too."

It seems like a great au, and remake in general. Like a more canonic approach to the original series

But i have to say, its just not my vibe.

Im actually crying right now.

Im going to make my own rewrite, because this one portrays Springtrap as JUST a heartless killer. And that's fine. But what attracted me to the original comic was the fact Springtrap WASNT heartless. Which i have to say, is pretty bad considering the original pedophilic subtext.

But something just. Attracts me to it? The concept of Springtrap not being just a heartless monster.

But anyways, i just needed to vent, please see their au, it actually looks really nice

I might rewrite it in the future and take out Springtrap and Deliah). i respect all decisions they make and I won't harass them And ye Cottontail is just an old Springbonnie suit.

I just came back to this post. I do agree that the comic is a whole lot darker looking back at it, but that's kinda the point. Even though Springtrap is portrayed as a more sympathetic character in this comic, he's still shown to be a very twisted man who isn't in the right at all. Both of the endings give Springtrap consequences to his behavior. He's not excused for anything he does to Deliah and her family at all throughout the story.

Your point is valid regardless, and it would be great if you rewrite the comic, I just wanted to share my opinion on the darker stuff in Springtrap and Deliah. I hope this hasn't offended you.

“Everything’s fine, Nicholas. See? Your daughtah is in good hands…” <—Child killer planning to murder your daughter extract Remnant. —— In my rework of Springtrap & Deliah, Roger Stanford is replaced with William Afton himself, as I wanted to have my version of the plot focus more heavily on FNAF 3’s lore. In the above image, William as a human is still dead, but he’s appearing in Nick’s—Delilah’s father—nightmares. In the rework, this is the child spirits doing as they’re both trying to get Delilah and Nick to see that Springtrap is bad business, and that they need to all be freed from his haunting grasp.

When it comes to his design, I used his look from the FNAF Graphic Novels as a base to build off of. I wanted William to be somewhat older looking, yet make him look like an average guy, since I’d imagine with all of his fake names it would keep him less traceable. I’m also leaning more towards William being a cold man on the surface; He keeps to himself, focuses more on his work life, but doesn’t shy away from expressing his disdain when he’s annoyed. Hiding underneath that cold exterior is a prideful, sinister, and brutal killer who remains high on a superiority complex over having managed to weasel away from his crimes for so long. In short, I don’t like killers being depicted as insanely edgy or maniacally psychotic. For William, him being more of a closed off yet intelligent man just makes more sense imo.

Also, I cannot take novel William seriously he looks so GOOFY LMAO

Just a little fun meme post that further explains my gripes with the original comic’s Springtrap. One thing I will comment on is the mention of the “Bad Choice routes”. Briefly, these are hypothetical decisions a reader would make that would lead to either a premature death, negative consequences, or a keen choice that aids in Delilah’s survival. More to be explained fully in the future.

For now, it turns out my gut feeling of Roger Stanford being a real person was hilariously correct.

“Springtrap” is the name of an abandoned Animatronic found within a Safe Room in Fazbear’s Fright. The suit radiated a foul odor, which is contributed to the supposedly fake corpse resting inside of it, fermenting until the attraction opens. …That is, before Delz and Harris stole him. Matt, Harris’ older brother, is a fur suit builder (and furry). Using his experience, he was able to clean up and fix Springtrap, to which the possessed suit would take up the name “Mr.Bonnie”.

Bonnie says he was once a worker at Fazbear’s, before a catastrophic springlock failure crushed him inside, leading to the spring costumes to be decommissioned (staying true to the FNAF 3 tapes.) However, it’s likely a script programmed into the suit to scare people, after all he did come from a Horror Attraction. He would later be sent home with Delilah as a “birthday gift”, where he would take the form of a costume display while Nick is home, and a new companion to play Hide and Seek with while he was away at work.

——— Springtrap in this rework is the main antagonist, and does not have a redemption arc. Him being a sweetheart to Delilah is all a manipulative act of superficial charm to rope her into his arms in order to kill again. He’s also William Afton this time just for simplicity’s sake. Speaking of Hide and Seek, it seems he’s incredibly observant of Delz movements and typical hiding places in the house, always …thinking. Looking for an opportunity to strike; He also practices his plan of attack when Delilah is out with Harris.

One of the most underutilized aspects of Springtrap and Deliah, are the nightmares brought upon Deliah and Nick through the child spirits. My main gripe with the spirits is how they mostly exist to belittle Springtrap for being a serial killer (rightfully so) in order to make the audience feel bad for him. This, will soon change. First, however, I intend to give Nightmare Springtrap a new form. Detailed below are notes for both the original design by GraWolfQuinn, and the sketch for my redesign that provides more insight to my creative decisions.

The original design for this form was quite lacking in my opinion, as it made minimal changes to the existing Springtrap design. The tentacles in particular were a strange decision, as Springtrap himself doesn’t really call for it, that and given his constant run-ins with fire. However, I will give props and say that I really liked the detail of the springlock failure blood stains being present on the suit, it was a clever detail to include. I understand Quinn was a minor at the time, and I’ve been there at making not-so-stellar designs at that age too.

In my redesign, I took inspiration from my own childhood fears of a grandpa I had who was quite tall, and me being terrified of his towering height. I seriously think Fnaf 3 was criminally underutilized in this comic, so I gave my redesign more of the withered features shared with the OG Springtrap. I was also inspired by the one panel with Purple Guy inside of Springtrap during Deliah’s nightmare for this design, as Afton and his creation are now one of the same.

I usually never go this hard on line art, but this design warranted it. A major emphasis of this design is the usage of darkness. I love playing with black and white, and obscuring his figure with shadow really benefits the horror of not fully knowing what’s there. Additionally, I took some notes from Scraptrap and added some more skeletal features enfused with bones and mangles of what flesh remains, or at least, what Delilah can memorize.

I am extremely happy with how this design turned out, and the chromatic zooming effect really enhances the overall look!

Delz/Delilah is a tomboy who lives a couple blocks down from Fazbear’s Fright. Shy of becoming a teenager, she and her friend Harris have begun to turn into quite the troublemakers. Delz is big into rock bands, and is hitting an emo phase as a result. Notably, she’s been struggling mentally with the sudden divorce of her mother, which lead to her living with her dad who tries his best to comfort his child, even if she pushes him away like any other near-teen would. Her shaky status with her father would only be further thrown into jeopardy with the friendship she secretly forms with Mr. Bonnie, only further dividing the two apart as he weaves his way into Delilah’s heart, gaining her trust with bad intentions behind them… She’s a rather nosy girl, always asking Mr. Bonnie about his tightly guarded secrets, trying to pry more and more out of his mysterious past as she’s left with more questions than answers. Instead of being suspicious about him, she sees this as an interesting allure to his character; Fazbear’s Fright really must know what they’re doing, huh? ——— I wanted Delz to be more of an angsty kid, I saw the rock posters in her room during the original comic and I thought it would be a fun idea to play with! Springtrap being really Co-Dependent on her in the comic was …really weird. Seeing how much she was gaslit too is what really inspired me to make Springtrap more of a villain, as kids are both quite impressionable, and often miss red flags.

Delilah "Delz" Edwards | Updated Reference Delz is your local punk rock loving tomboy who just so happens to live a couple blocks away from the recently announced horror attraction in town, Fazbear’s Fright. Wanting to get all the spooky deets for her YouTube channel before anyone else, she and her friend Harry become a pair of trouble making teens as they break into the abandoned, poorly ventilated building, unearthing something much more than what they bargained for. They found one. A real one. This is SURE to gain her a boat load of clout! Since her parents suddenly divorced, she’s been struggling a lot mentally, having trouble making friends with kids her age and getting into a lot of horror related media as of late. Her dad tries his best despite having some serious depression of his own to deal with, even if she pushes him away. Her shaky status with her father would only be further thrown into jeopardy with the friendship she forms with the animatronic they "borrowed" from Fazbear's Fright, going by the name of Mr. Bonnie. She’s a rather nosy girl, always asking Mr. Bonnie about his tightly guarded secrets, trying to pry more and more out of his mysterious past as she’s left with more questions than answers. Instead of being suspicious about him, she sees this as an interesting allure to his character; Fazbear’s Fright really must know what they’re doing, huh? Oh man, just imagine all the views her videos will get!

Little does she know, Mr. Bonnie is not as innocent on the surface as he seems, gaining her trust with nothing but sinister intentions behind them...

Reading through the comic again, I picked up that Deliah was bullied in school by someone named “Jessie”. It was only mentioned once, but hey why not add a little something more to that? Delz in this rework is a bit of a punk kid who’s definitely having an emo phase, which leads her to getting picked on. Oh, but now that she’s friends with one of those scary giant robots from Freddy’s, of course she’s gonna use the opportunity to freak the living daylights out of her bullies! …Well, granted William doesn’t decide to go and harvest their remnant for himself. After all, it’s just a prank, right? —- I’ve gotten better at drawing Mr. Bonnie here more Fnaf like I think! I kinda switch between this look and the other one I have, but I’m definitely getting more comfortable with this look ^^

Once an abandoned Animatronic found within a saferoom of the old Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location where he was left to rot for the past 30 years, now was purchased by a local horror attraction before the original building was demolished, being condemned to wonder the dimly lit chambers within Fazbear’s Fright. The suit, whose insides were horrifically fused with--what appeared to be real--human remains and animatronic devices, radiated the foul odor of death as it continued to ferment until the attraction was set to open on the week of Halloween. …That is, before a pair of local trouble making teens named Delz and Harry, decided it would be a fun idea to record everything inside for internet clout. Despite the terrible stench emanating from Springtrap, and his ghoulish corpse mended within his iron prison, the pair of local kids found him to be really cool! This kind of find is EXACTLY what they were looking for, and it was just their luck that Springtrap seemed interested in hanging around the two and catch some fresh air outside. In the parking lot, the teens got a good look of how matted Springtrap was, and asked Matt--Harry's older brother--to clean up and fix him, even if he went with using olive green fur instead of the suit's original golden color. The possessed suit would then take up the name Mr. Bonnie. He says that in the 90's he was once a costume worker at Fazbear’s, before a catastrophic springlock failure brutally crushed him inside, leading to the spring costumes to be decommissioned--staying true to the FNAF 3 tapes. However, its likely what he said is meant to be a scripted dialog program into the suit to scare people, after all he did come from a Horror Attraction of all places; Which also led Delz into giving him the name Springtrap, since it sounded way cooler to her, and the punk themed nickname stuck. Once he was fully furnished and didn't smell like a rotten corpse layered with skunk spray, he was sent home with Delz as a “sick thing they found in the dumpster”--a FNAF 6 nod with the back alley where coincidentally, Springtrap can be found in--where he would take the form of a cool horror attraction robot while Nick is home, and a new companion to play Hide-and-Seek with while he was away at work. Do not be fooled, however. Him being a friend to Delz is all a manipulative act of superficial charm to rope her into his arms in order to kill again, and he won't stop at just her. Springtrap wants to kill pretty much anyone who dares to step in his path and harvest their Remnant for himself, which depending on Delz' actions, may become a reality. Speaking of Hide-and-Seek, he’s incredibly observant of Delz movements and takes note of typical hiding places in the house, always looking for an opportunity to strike...
