The brothers playing chess
(based on the whole chess fad that's happening in every single school) Cw: sexual mentions for comedic purposes/just the brothers/I know nothing of chess, only from school games lol, try to avoid making it about their sins and more about their personalities
Lucifer:
-can actually play
-is really good at it, calm, and calculating
-hes a perfectionist so wants to win but he doesn't let his competitiveness show so it doesn't come off as desperation
-doesnt do pity wins, either you win or you die
-"ah I see you're going to do the ol' Tennessee nipple pincher but in 43 moves I will have won"
-when watching people play he'll watch silently and it'll be VERY distracting for the players
-he struggles to win against Diavolo and doesn't want to know what will when he does
Mammon:
-you bet he's one of the first students at RAD to start the whole chess epidemic
-is realllllly bad but will place each move really smugly
-not very competitive when playing with friends, unless he can see $$$, usually plays up his competitiveness a little though
-keeps trying to sneakily hide your chess pieces from off the board so he can win
-when watching he yells bad advice in hopes someone will follow it
-(I think it's a given that he'll place bets on the players)
Leviathan:
-not good
-hes one of those guys who will be smug about a play then immediately get checkmated, very competitive
-he plays against bots for 3 hours everyday
-when watching he'll probably play it on his phone and play the players moves against a bot to see who will win first and bet with mammon (he always gets it right, but never gets paid back for it)
Satan:
-good
-tries to take it easy but gets competitive when it comes to Lucifer
-plays sometimes, has read a few books on it but not his go to game (headcannon him to be a fan of solitaire)
-when watching he'll give some advice if one of them is a beginner but otherwise is a distant spectator
Asmodeus:
-Average
-doesnt really care for it but he'll have a photoshoot inspired by it (chess piece chic, nerdy chic, ect)
-doesnt play a ton but will if people want to
-when watching he'll make really dramatic facial expressions to people's moves (°□° ) -> (• ▽ •;) it is very distracting and eventually gets told to please go away
Beelzebub:
-Not very good
-he understands he concept but can't grasp how his moves will play out in future turns
-hes very sweet about losing and winning, I think he's a great sport so he's pleasant to play with
-when watching he'll have snacks on him, tries to give some pointers for the beginners but when asked a follow-up question he gets very confused
Belphie:
-annoyingly good
-you bet he's a smug asshole about it
-doesnt really play but when he does he'll antagonize his opponent and the goal never ends up being to win but to piss them off, despite that he'll still win
-when watching he'll call all of the moves that the people play dumb and when asked what he would do he just rolls his eyes and lays down to nap

It’s DERBY DAY!!!
Late last night I baked a few cupcakes so that the little miss and I could decorate them this morning.  The cupcake liners are red roses (run for the roses) and the decor speaks for itself.  Here’s hoping that they taste better than they look.
Tumblr media
After breakfast I started a pork butt in the slow cooker so that we can have a Derby dinner of pulled pork.  I’m throwing together a broccoli salad and a couple of other things, keeping it simple so I can sit down and enjoy the race.  Crossing my fingers that my gray horse wins.  I never bet enough to get rich, but if Tapit Trice wins I will be placing a healthy Sephora order.  Wrinkle cream ain’t cheap.  It also ain’t working, but that’s a story for another day. Around 10 o’clock we ladies went to Easton to paint pottery.  Before departing Tennessee a dear pal gave me a gift certificate to Kiln Born Creations.  Painting pottery and chatting was a favorite past time of ours in Mt. Juliet and her card said to use the gift to create special memories with the grandgirl.  I didn’t intend to wait this long to use it, but between Covid, kidney stones, her 4 year old attention span, etc we did end up waiting.  I’m so glad we did.  Today Little Miss Magic and I painted a fairy house for her garden.  She believes in fairies with all her heart and is convinced she’ll have tenants.  I’m going to have to order some tiny shoes or items of clothing to drop inside from time to time. She’ll know they’ve been there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once it’s fired those colors will become brilliant and glossy. I think any fairy would be happy to live there.
Can we take a moment to appreciate that adorable dress?
Tumblr media
That little Peter Pan collar and the blue waist sash - swoon!  My sister made that dress for her daughter twenty plus years ago.  She has gifted me with dresses, a kuspuk (also handmade), dance recital outfits, scads of American Girl dolls, clothes, and equipment, and books.  Aunt Cathi is an absolute celebrity in my grandgirl’s eyes.  When we see a car that even slightly resembles hers, she’ll sigh and say, “I wish that was Aunt Cathi coming to visit.”  She’s a fan. Me too.
Right now I’m actually home alone. The gang went off to an animal festival sponsored by Caroline County’s Humane Society. There’s supposed to be live music, food trucks, alpacas and other interesting animals, fun booths for kids, dogs doing tricks and chasing lures, and lots more. I declared that they should go on without me because I still had some meal prep to do, which I truly did need to do if I intend to enjoy the Kentucky Derby.  That didn’t take long and now I’m tapping away on the ol’ blog and talking to you.  I may have gotten the better end of the deal.  I hope they come home with an alpaca.  We can add it to the squirrel that is currently residing in our garage and refusing to leave. I’m not sure when he got trapped in there, but he tore up the blinds at one window trying to get out.  Mickey cracked the big garage door, but apparently Steve the Squirrel has gotten pretty comfy where we store the bird seed.  He was heading toward the door at one point and Mickey raised it which spoked him and he ran back into the shelving. When we came home from Easton and painting pottery I was assured that Steve has gone.  I don’t think I believe it.  I don’t want to go into the garage to grab gardening stuff or spray paint something and end up with a squirrel in my hair.  It doesn’t do any good to demand that he show himself, he won’t do it.  I asked Mickey why he thinks the squirrel is gone and he said (and I quote), “Because I saw one that looked just like him run across the street.”  This man can’t tell the difference between Ann Margaret and Lucille Ball (”Well, they both have red hair.”) but expects me to believe he can ID a squirrel at twenty yards.  Steve is probably behind the shelves raising a family right now. But I can’t think about that right now.  I’ve got DERBY plans. The more I do now, the more likely I’ll be able to watch the most exciting two minutes in sports.  I’m going to tune in early to ooh and ahh over the hats, listen to the crowd sing My Old Kentucky Home, and get chills when I hear  the “Riders up!” call.  I love it all. Even if I’m not a winner today (Forte is still the favorite), I’m having a ball. Hope your Saturday is relaxing and that you have as much fun as you’d like.  That may mean a big outing or an afternoon nap.  Your call. Sending out love, grab some if you need it. Stay safe, stay well, RIDERS UP! XOXO - Nancy

NFL season is in the books, and for the first time in US history, legal sportsbooks took action on the games in more than a dozen states across the country.
Oddsmakers told ESPN that Sunday was a “decent day,” as the house came out on top on what was a busy kickoff to the most popular betting season in America. However, some bettors fared quite well in week one.
The most notable win came on a $30,000 wager placed at the PointsBet book in New Jersey. The sports betting operator features a twist on how its NFL gambling works, allowing bettors to win (and lose) 1x their bet per point away from the spread.
In this case, the bettor risked $30,000 on the Ravens spotting the Dolphins six points. The maximum win/loss was set at a whopping $600,000. With Baltimore defeating the lowly Dolphins 59-10, the PointsBet wager was multiplied by 43 for a total haul of $1,290,000. But because the max win/loss was $600,000, the bettor takes home that amount. Not bad for a Sunday.
Week One Wins The Ravens delivered sportsbooks a loss on Sunday, as casinos reported lopsided action on Baltimore. Caesars said 93.7 percent of the money it took on the game was on the favorite.
A Philadelphia fanatic wagered $45,000 at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas on the Eagles beating the Washington Redskins straight up on -450 odds. The bet – which didn’t look good early on, as the Eagles trailed 17-0, net $10,000 after Philly managed to come back and win, 32-27.
DraftKings took a $100,000 mobile wager in New Jersey on the Indianapolis Colts (+6.5) and Jacksonville Jaguars (+3.5). The Colts covered in overtime 30-24, but the Jags failed to cover in their 40-26 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.
PointsBet offset some of its $600,000 loss after the Buffalo Bills topped the home team New York Jets, 17-16.
Browns Bust The hype surrounding the Cleveland Browns was massive entering the 2019-20 season. Hopes are high for the team that hasn’t made the playoffs since 2002.
The hype was short-lived.
Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota tossed three touchdown passes in his team’s 43-13 rout of the Browns. Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield was picked off three times in the final 15 minutes in what was a dismal opening week showing.
Everybody is going to throw this in the trash,” Mayfield said of the loss. “I think that is good. I know what type of men we have in this locker room.”동행복권파워볼
“Quite frankly, I do not give a damn what happens on the outside. I know how we are going to react. I know what we are going to do. We are going to bounce back. We have a Monday night game coming up, so we do not really care. We are ready to go,” the second-year star said.
The Browns – along with the Chicago Bears – attracted the most Super Bowl action prior to week one at multiple sports books. Both teams began the season with a loss.

2024 Males's Last 4 odds: Who's favored to win every area?
Tumblr media
The NCAA Males's bracket has been revealed and bettors are scouring the chances marketplace for the 2023-24 males's faculty basketball nationwide championship. However do you know there's one other betting market accessible for Last 4 weekend in Phoenix? RELATED: 10 early March Insanity betting ideas Due to FanDuel Sportsbook, now you can wager on which groups will win every area. If you happen to suppose a group will make a deep run within the event however aren't positive if it would lower down the nets on April 8, the regional winner odds are for you. Listed here are the chances as of Monday for groups to make the Last 4 at FanDuel Sportsbook, in addition to perception from FOX Sports activities faculty basketball writers John Fanta and Michael Cohen. ODDS TO WIN EAST REGION:  UConn Huskies: +110 (guess $10 to win $21 whole) Iowa State Cyclones: +450 (guess $10 to win $55 whole) Auburn Tigers: +550 (guess $10 to win $65 whole) Illinois Preventing Illini: +750 (guess $10 to win $85 whole) BYU Cougars: +1500 (guess $10 to win $160 whole) San Diego State Aztecs: +2000 (guess $10 to win $210 whole) "However there is not any conceivable method the Huskies do not make it to the Candy 16 in Boston. I do get that Auburn, with a KenPom score of 4 and an elite protection, might give the Huskies some suits with the best way they guard however I do not suppose it is definitive that Auburn will get to the second weekend as a result of I despise its draw. As a lot as I wish to say Iowa State would problem the Huskies extra, I nonetheless would moderately play the Cyclones than 2-seeds Tennessee or Arizona. Sure, I am nicely conscious that Iowa State crushed Houston within the Massive 12 Event championship recreation however I nonetheless have some issues about its offense." — Fanta ODDS TO WIN WEST REGION:  Arizona Wildcats: +230 (guess $10 to win $33 whole) North Carolina Tar Heels: +380 (guess $10 to win $48 whole) Baylor Bears: +700 (guess $10 to win $80 whole) Alabama Crimson Tide: +700 (guess $10 to win $80 whole) Saint Mary's Gaels: +1000 (guess $10 to win $110 whole) Michigan State Spartans: +1300 (guess $10 to win $140 whole) "The bracket units up properly for second-seeded Arizona to make a prolonged NCAA Event run and probably attain the Last 4 for the primary time since 2001. It has been 9 years since former coach Sean Miller introduced the Wildcats to the Elite Eight in consecutive seasons, and present head coach Tommy Lloyd might be desirous to string collectively a couple of wins after getting upset by No. 15 Princeton final March." — Cohen ODDS TO WIN SOUTH REGION:  Houston Cougars: +145 (guess $10 to win $24.50 whole) Marquette Golden Eagles: +500 (guess $10 to win $60 whole) Duke Blue Devils: +650 (guess $10 to win $75 whole) Kentucky Wildcats: +700 (guess $10 to win $80 whole) Wisconsin Badgers: +1200 (guess $10 to win $130 whole) Florida Gators: +1500 (guess $10 to win $160 whole) Texas Tech Purple Raiders: +1500 (guess $10 to win $160 whole) "I just like the Cougars fairly a bit, however alternative knocks for Kentucky. The Wildcats must keep away from the upset risk in opposition to Greg Kampe and Oakland, then get Texas Tech or NC State. Sure, the Wolf Pack are red-hot, however each of these groups are beatable for a group as proficient as Kentucky, little question. It is time for John Calipari to go on a run and I felt this was a manageable path." — Fanta ODDS TO WIN MIDWEST REGION:  Purdue Boilermakers: +170 (guess $10 to win $27 whole) Tennessee Volunteers: +350 (guess $10 to win $45 whole) Creighton Bluejays: +480 (guess $10 to win $58 whole) Kansas Jayhawks: +1000 (guess $10 to win $110 whole) Gonzaga Bulldogs: +1000 (guess $10 to win $110 whole) Texas Longhorns: +1800 (guess $10 to win $190 whole) "The Boilermakers are additionally fairly lucky in that Kansas is well the weakest 4-seed on this 12 months's event, as harm questions swirl round guard Kevin McCullar Jr. (18.3 factors per recreation) and heart Hunter Dickinson (18 factors per recreation). That is additionally one thing of a down 12 months for fifth-seeded Gonzaga, which enters the Massive Dance with a 25-7 general file that's the program's worst since 2016. Each groups are topic to potential upsets of their first-round matchups in opposition to Samford and McNeese State, respectively." — Cohen Which group are you backing to make a run to the Last 4? Ryan Edwards' girlfriend Amanda Conner has faced backlash for sharing videos of his son Bentley on her social media.
The Teen Mom OG alum has been flaunting his new relationship in recent photos and videos after finalizing his divorce from Mackenzie last spring.
Ryan's new girlfriend Amanda Conner, 33, whom he met in rehab, faced scrutiny from fans Saturday when she posted several clips of his eldest son Bentley, 15, on her Instagram.
The controversial father shares the teen with his ex Maci Bookout, 32.
Amanda kicked off her Stories with a blurry shot of a wrestling match scoreboard.
Her second post was a video of Bentley preparing for his wrestling match and shaking hands with his coach.
The Jerry Springer alum also filmed the teen as he went head-to-head with another wrestler, and tussled for well over a minute on the mat.
Amanda could be heard shouting support and laughing as she watched Ryan's son compete.
The Chattanooga native closed out her posts with a black-and-white selfie with her man.
In the snap, the couple grinned while wearing sports memorabilia and beads from Bentley's wrestling team.
Amanda captioned the post, "Go Buccaneers #Bentley," and she added a geotag that revealed the location to be the Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville South/Cool Springs in Franklin, Tennessee.
Fans were instantly concerned by the TV star's appearance at the teen's match, and even more so with her decision to post clips.
Several took to Reddit where they discussed whether or not her involvement with Bentley's game was appropriate.
"Ryan’s new girlfriend already posting Bentley on her social media. I think she needs to stay in her lane and this is not it. Thoughts?" one wrote, opening up the conversation.
"I bet she’s just trying to get a reaction from maci lol. Pathetic to use a kid like that. New girlfriend is such a 12 year old," a second agreed.
"Classic move for the new girlfriend of a deadbeat dad," a third trolled.
"Where's your own son, Amanda?" a fourth wondered.
"Filming kids that aren't hers...btw where are her kids? What a weirdo," a fifth scathed.
"How are her or Ryan allowed anywhere near Bentley at this point?" a final wondered.
He met his new girlfriend Amanda Connor while he was in the rehabilitation facility.
Since they were both released, they have been practically inseparable.
Informants close to the couple have shared their concerns about their relationship.
A source told The U.S. Sun: "Choosing to use your time on and the type of people you’re surrounding yourself with is not OK.
"This girl is dangerous."
A different insider also exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Amanda is well known in Chattanooga for her bad reputation.
They claimed: "Amanda is trouble. She has been in and out of the system since she was old enough to catch a charge.
"She is not a good influence on Ryan."

$1300 next week + $1100 week after (2 weeks) + $1100 week after (3 weeks) easy $4000-$4500 in a month.
seems like Peter is having plenty of work since my dad is hiring more masons. That’s awesome for him. I’m going to Tennessee. Creating my company in Nashville. Moving to Vegas next year. Sanchez and Gabby will help me. Plus they travel. If I buy another RV for them or Edwin. That’s an extra $300 a week for workers or $400 a month for Edwin when I buy him an RV in Georgia. He can continue to help George my dealer or Sergio my church friend.
either way I have forms of extra income. Maybe help Joey McVey and get him to sit on the lake and rent out paddle boards I buy. While I work in Tennessee gambling and masonry.

College football Week 10 predictions: Georgia vs. Tennessee and more picks against spread
College football Week 10 predictions: Georgia vs. Tennessee and more picks against spread
It’s tough to know when to take a team seriously, when to treat it as a true contender. Several teams climb up the polls each season, but nearly every College Football Playoff ultimately ends up with the usual suspects. Only one team in the playoff era, LSU in the 2019 season, has crashed the party and come out on top. I’ve been slow to see Tennessee as a national title contender, for several…

Gage Joseph: Standing Tall on the Stage of Life
Tumblr media
Over the past five years, he’s matured from being a cute little kid with an impressive voice to a handsome young man with an incredible voice. And along the way, he's added a fiddler for duo shows, and his very own band. Yeah, that's right, Gage Joseph has become a bit of a big deal. His dream, of course, was to earn his high school diploma and then run off to the honky tonks of Nashville once he and his mates were finally finished with all that growing-up stuff. Well, Gage was graduated from Shadyside High School last year, but his grand plan has changed. Instead of running off to Tennessee, the young man has started the nursing program at Belmont College. That’s because the 19-year-old Joseph now plans to follow his mother, Heather, into the local health care industry while continuing to chase his dreams in the entertainment business on the stages of the Upper Ohio Valley. It can happen. It has happened. And if anyone can make it happen again, it just might be that young man with that impressive, incredible voice. Gage is always proud to sing the National Anthem for local organizations, including the Wheeling Police Department and Chief Shawn Schwertfeger. What country singer made you want to be a country singer? It was definitely a mixture of Brad Paisley and Chris Young. I love the bluesy voice and feel to the music along with the guitar playing and chicken picking that is found in the Paisley era.   I’m really trying to focus on improving my guitar skills, and I hope one day I can play lead guitar with confidence. What made you realize that moving to Nashville after high school was not the best move for you at this stage in your life? When I realized that the local community college was a great option for me to be able to pursue my musical dreams and afford to pay out of pocket for my education. I don’t want the weight of student loan debt.  If all goes as planned, I’ll graduate at 20 as an LPN.  If I want to move out of the area after, I’ll be in a better place financially. Joseph goes to college four days per week, and then he performs the other three evenings. What three songs do people always want to hear you perform? Hands down the number one song is “Devil Went Down to Georgia.” With Wyatt Kidd in the band, people want to hear that fiddle.  As of recently, people have been liking Zach Bryan’s “Something in the Orange,” as well. And it’s always a safe bet to expect a Chris Stapleton song to be requested during an event.  I try to have a wide variety of music to help everyone in attendance have the best experience I can offer. How do you like to perform the most – as a solo act, as a duo, or with your band? I don’t have a favorite, and it is more important that you have the right size group for the gig. I’ve had people tell me they prefer band shows for the energy, and I’ve had people say they like solo and duo shows cause they can hear the individual instruments and voice.  Good thing is I play both. Gage is only 19 years old and that means he's still not allowed to purchase a beer in the venues where he performs. What video game that you played as a kid do you still play today … and why? MLB the show is probably the one I’m on the most. That or Madden. Growing up, I was a two-sport athlete so sports have always been a part of my day-to-day. I cannot live life without them. [ad_1] I’m not much of a gambler. I can say for certain that I’ve never made a bet on a sports-betting app while at the Tennessee Titans’ headquarters, a place I routinely frequent as a part of my job.Legally in this state, though, I could have. And I’d have had no clue – until recently – that doing so would have set off all sorts of alarm bells. Given the location tracking used by betting sites, they’d have probably looked into it and figured out I wasn’t a Titans player or employee. But how can you know? Could have caused real problems.A hypothetical, but that’s beside the point.Point is, I didn’t know. And that means I can’t help but feel for Titans offensive lineman Nicholas Petit-Frere.On Thursday, the NFL revealed the Titans’ starting right tackle will be suspended six regular-season games “for betting on non-NFL sports at the club facility.” Indefinite suspensions were announced for three other players, except those players were found to have bet on the NFL. Harsh punishments made sense in those instances. With Petit-Frere, though, it's more difficult to see what he did wrong. He is allowed to bet on sports as a resident of Tennessee. He is allowed by the NFL to bet on sports outside of his own league. It’d be OK in the league's eyes for him to do that at home or at nearly every location in Tennessee. He just isn't allowed to do it at the Titans’ facility or while traveling with the team.More: NFL suspends three more players for entire 2023 season for gambling violationsIt’s a distinction so seemingly arbitrary – and a violation so careless in nature – that you’ve got to believe Petit-Frere when he says he didn’t know he was breaking the rules."I have always strived in every stage of my life to follow the rules,” he said in a statement to ESPN. “I did not knowingly break the rules. Even after attending a league presentation, I was unaware about the specifics around placing bets from a team facility.”If true, that's on the NFL – and also the Titans – for failing to educate players about its rules.I don’t know Petit-Frere away from football, but he has struck me as an especially intelligent and thoughtful person since being drafted last year by Tennessee. He very much seems like he'd pay attention to important information. Someone who looks before leaping. And that’s exactly what Petit-Frere expressed to The Tennessean about a month ago in comments that make more sense in light of Thursday’s news."I was actually one of the people who asked one of the most questions when it came to fantasy football and things like that,” Petit-Frere said at the time. “I just wanted to make sure I learned as much as I could. When we heard about those suspensions and things like that, I’ll be honest, a lot of the guys felt like there just wasn’t a lot of teaching in general about this offense. … It kind of seems out of nowhere.”Gambling is serious among athletes in pro and college sports. Always has been and always will be. The NFL – or any league – has no choice but to take a strict, unyielding stance, doing whatever is required to uphold confidence in the integrity of its game. Accordingly, leagues must be able to set and enforce gambling rules as they see fit. I’d never suggest otherwise.Confused by NFL gambling rules? Here's what the league is teaching players, coachesBut for deterrence to be effective, it can't be a secret. If the NFL is going to suspend players six games for the location of the bets placed – rather than the bets themselves – there’s no excuse for failing to properly warn them about it.There should have been signage up in bright, bold letters in every team’s facility warning against such activity. This is a rule so easy to follow and a situation so silly that it shouldn't have happened to anyone in the NFL. I mean, just wait until you get home.We should be sitting here saying, "My gosh, how in the world did Petit-Frere not know?"But when he says that he didn’t, I believe him. Because I didn’t, either.Given that, it’s unsurprising the Titans had someone get caught up in all this. What’s surprising, really, is that they haven't had more.Reach Tennessean sports columnist Gentry Estes at [email protected] and on Twitter @Gentry_Estes.This article originally appeared on USA TODAY NETWORK: NFL gambling: Petit-Frere suspended for rule he says he didn't know [ad_2] Source link

Navigating the Legal Landscape of Sports Betting in the USA
Tumblr media
Sports betting is one of the hot topics in the media right now. The long-standing taboo against gambling swiftly vanished from American culture, creating the conditions for the vast, multibillion-dollar legal sports betting market. The US sports betting market is still unexplored with ultimate potential as many would know that, not all the states have legalized its status! But with more than half of the country kicking off with the legalization process for sports betting. It seems like it is only a matter of time.
It's hard to believe that just Nevada had legalized sportsbooks only a few years ago when over 36 states currently provide some type of legal US sports betting sites. Of the 36 states, only three states are in the process of launching their programs while others already have existing setups.
How did it all come to be?
On May 2018, the Supreme Court decided that states could authorize sports betting under their own conditions. While a few states are presently considering whether to join in themselves, more sports enthusiasts than ever before from all over the country can now wager on sports in the U.S. In fact, the repeal of PASPA represents the turning point in American sports betting history because it made it possible for a remarkable, mostly unregulated sector to get its due limelight and function more consciously within rules and regulations.
But know this if you are planning to be a betting operator in the US, sports betting can become unlawful after you cross state lines because each state is allowed to set its own rules and regulations. States that solely permit in-person wagering exist, but there are also those that permit mobile sports betting. While some states permit betting on all sports, others might forbid it for minor leagues and colleges. It can be quite difficult to recall which states allow legal sports betting and what that involves because so many states make up their own laws. Thus before proceeding with setting up your own betting platform you need to be aware of the state-by-state laws regarding sports betting in the USA.
Tracking the legal changes state by stage
On May 14, 2018, after PASPA was declared obsolete, six months later, seven additional states launched their sports betting markets to complement Nevada's already established one. The first wave of states to legalize sports betting in history included Delaware, New Jersey, Mississippi, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and New Mexico.

The second wave of sports betting legislation was introduced during the first half of 2019. At least one sports betting bill was presented in a legislative chamber in more than two dozen states, and several of those states ended up enacting legislation. Thereafter the number of sports betting states increased further with the addition of North Carolina, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, Montana, Iowa, and New Hampshire. Later many more states followed suit to bring that number to 36.
What is the financial impact of legalization?
The states that permitted legal betting has seen financial benefits from it already. According to the American Gaming Association, Americans legally wagered $73 billion on sports in the first 10 months of 2022, an increase of 70% from the same period last year. Sports betting businesses made $5.77 billion off of those bets, a 78% increase from the previous year, while states and the federal government likely made $1.3 billion.
New York, which began its mobile sports betting market last year, is already at the top in sports betting revenue with $1.07 billion from January through October. While Illinois and New Jersey followed with $616 million and $595 million.

Casey Clark, a senior vice president at the American Gaming Association (AGA) even shared that last year was a record-breaking year for the gaming industry, and certainly, the continued expansion and adoption of and maturation of legal sports betting across the country contributed to that.
What can we expect in the future?
As existing state markets mature and new ones are introduced, Clark anticipates that 2023 will be another year of records. He predicts that the USA will see [legislative] movement in probably nine or ten more states. Thus the number of sports betting in USA legal states will continue to increase from the current, 36.
The three largest states—California, Florida, and Texas—have not yet permitted sports betting but lobbyist and multiple bills have been raised as the fight for Sports betting’s legal status continues. Additionally, four other states- Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, and North Carolina will probably amend their laws this year as well.
It is simply astounding how quickly sports betting is becoming popular, as evidenced by the number of states that have already changed their laws to allow sports betting. After decades of being pushed to the periphery of society, sports betting is now reclaiming its place at the center. And it has thus created an opportunity for betting operators and sportsbooks to enter the market creating more vibrant local economies, more jobs, and employment opportunities as well.
