quick gourmie make that spore puff!!

Idk if you need help with gourmand's red centipede but my solution was to bring 3 spore puffs from farm arrays to where one spawns in subterranean. The spores deal damage despite their armor, more damage if they hit more parts of the bod. Two can kill, but three guarantees it in my experience. After that, you just need an escape plan for other angry centipedes.
oh, i know about the bug spray! i've been procrastinating on the thing mainly cuz i haven't exactly ever slayed a red Anything before, only scared off some lethargic red centis as spearmaster in pipeyard. but i have had a plan brewing since i entered the ring as Gour!

I've seen a handful of Rain World creature polls, but I haven't seen one like this yet so...

They look terrifying...#I was thinking of adding Vulture Grubs as well but they aren't killed by Spore Puffs so they are most likely not actually bugs.#Firebugs sound scary too... Love Core Keeper to death, but it managed to cram in the single worst phobia of mine as a biome and ive had to put off getting items from there for weeks before working up the courage to go in and explore 😭
#chattin#its MOLD. its fucking MOLD#the biome looks so nasty and it literally made my heart race when i saw it on the edge of my vision#and theres mold puffs and mold spores and 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭#and theres a food item thats just a mold puff and i cant even bring myself to experiment w it bc its MOLD#genuinely i do not think ive ever had such a visceral reaction to something like this#and in a pixel game no less#its just. they did a very good job. of conveying. mold.#the enemies are actually okay but its the biome that is just 😭😭😭#and the food has to be grown on the mold tile. no ! i am not putting mold tiles in my base!! i hate you !!!!#oh i must mention that the reason i was so freaked out#was bc i was in a cute grassy biome#and it gave way to a pocket of weirdly colored blocks#and i couldnt break the block; it was too strong#and when i moved around the block to find a way in (did not know it was mold yet)#there was a small opening that had like 20 enemies swarmed together#and this is a game that has grubs and maggots as enemies#so i was scared it was going to be that too#and seeing them swarm AND see mold blocks was like. too overwhelming. i had to take a break#now i am good :) its not bad to look at anymore. my want to be a completionist always overrides my fear of things#and the game is cute :) so eventually it just blended in w the style of the game

centiquest update: the pipeyard beast has been slain! just like with the first one we had to kill it twice for it to show up on the "you killed these things this cycle" thing
^ we got stuck inside the centipede for a solid 20 seconds here
#in between these two screenshots we had to craft another spore puff so we took a quick detour to a spot with scavengers#and for some reason one of them killed baby inv while we were crafting#you can see that we died on that same cycle so baby inv came back but ???

#my posts#gameblogging#liveblogging rain world#you'd think it's the hardest challenge in the food quest#but turns out it's not if you know what you're doing#well ok what i did was just passage to pipeyard and then walk around trying to find it#bc i'd heard there was one close to a shelter and with some mushrooms close by#but while i did find that particular shelter i didn't actually go to the room with the centipede#so instead i just used a popcorn plant to cough up some mushrooms#i created two spore puffs and walked around with them#got the black centipede and lilypuck#until i got annoyed and looked up the centipede's location#like i would've thought there'd be more than one of them in the area but nope#anyway that was fun#now i guess ill try to grind some passages cause the stuff i still have to eat is all around the map
