so I’m rewatching she-ra

(yes I know I just finished it for the first time two weeks ago, fight me.)

in the third episode, Adora is talking to Razz for the first time, begging her to tell her about the sword and She-Ra and what Adora is supposed to do in general and Adora specifically says:

“I left my entire life behind to figure out what I’m supposed to be”

but she hated shadow weaver, Hordak, and the horde in general. The only thing keeping her there was Catra.

the life she was talking about WAS Catra.

i know i talk too much about spop save the cat lol but

i don't feel toooo bad for this post since this one's a kinda quick thought - i'm sure others have considered it as well, but when catra actually is coherent enough to speak to adora as herself and says "we both know i don't matter" i don't think catra's referencing that as something that she's started feeling recently. i think that's how catra's felt since adora became the first ones she-ra. she thought they both needed each other cause of the promise and when adora left, she figured she was wrong about adora needing her too and straight up spent four seasons of spop tryna prove to herself and everyone else she didn't need her or anyone else either.

but i also think adora was quick to tell her "you matter to me" cause she honestly didn't realize catra didn't know that the whooole time uggh

oh those poor damaged sapphic bb's, i'm just so glad they find a way not just to finally understand each other's differing traumas, but also lend the support they both need to overcome them in the face of a straight up apocalypse, p much. what a world it must be for this whole story & their love to even exist tho, am i right? <3
