And apparently a bunch of others- Honda, Toyota? The police helpfully informed us this morning that breaking into any older-model Subarus (older in this case being circa '05) is fairly easy- and that there are a lot of skeleton keys floating around. A person with such a key can just casually check to see if it works on your car- it only takes a few seconds to check, and once they're in it's pretty easy to do the thing carjackers do. 

So. If you own an older Subaru, I strongly recommend investing in The Club.  If you live in Seattle, I strongly recommend leaving it on whenever you're not driving, including during the day. 

On an entirely unrelated note, if anyone within a 300-mile radius of Seattle  sees an old, white Subaru Legacy with these decals

I'd really, really appreciate it if you could call the police. Since I'd really like to be able to go to pay for college, and biking with her hand in a splint makes my mom cranky.
