Not sure where to start when it comes to your spiritual practice? Here's a brief inspirational guideline of what I like to do.
In each section I will provide all options of what I may potentially do, keep in mind on any given day I may do one or a mixture of the options provided in that section. Also remember not all aspects have to be completed. Mix, replace, and add what fits you in the present moment.
1.Preparing oneself
This step is all about communicating to the nervous system what's to come. To prepare I will clean up any clutter in my room, vacuum, fix or lay out a blanket and yoga mat, set out yoga blocks, choose a crystal grid base, choose crystals and other resource objects for the grid, get water/snack/use the restroom, let anyone in the house know I wish not to be disturbed, place my phone in another room, light an incense.
2. Tune in
This step is all about harnessing the flow of energy I created while building my crystal grid. This may entail a yoga sequence, playful mantra chanting, joyful movement, or just sitting and tolerating myself. At this step, I am more conscious about the music I am playing and setting an intention for the remainder of my time on the mat. On a crowded brain day this step may be focused on showing myself compassion and quieting the mind for the practice to come.
3. Connect with divine energy
This step is about connecting with an aspect of my inner self. It's meant to be a moment of inner reflection, understanding, and not contain any overwhelming emotions. I view it as setting the stage for deeper, more challenging work. Expanding knowledge through text, videos, or journaling accompany this step.
4. Highest point
This step is for the peak of the practice, where uncomfortable emotions are felt and shown acceptance. Currently for me, this is the step where I begin my dreamwork, shadow work, and analyze my repressed emotions and ignored parts.
5. Resting in contemplation
This step is focused on concluding the practice and integrating back into the regular day. This is where I like to journal about my practice, slowly clean up. This is when I might seek connection with others or blog about my experience.
