And a happy new year to all that is living To all that is gentle, young, and forgiving

in my family we have this tradition that at midnight we turn on every light in our house so that we enter the new year with light instead of darkness. we also have other traditions that we do but that, i think, is the most important.

the middle of 2013 was very rough -- while everything at school was going well -- very well -- things at home were not so great. so that's why 2013 was kind of a bust. and it's interesting to see that everyone generally felt the same.

what gives me hope is that everyone has such positivity when looking into 2014 -- i think this energy's gonna make stuff happen. i have so much hope for 2014! 

i put this picture of my and kristie because while this year was rough and stressful and not as good as i thought it would have been, my friends had never let me down. as long as i had my friends, with alexis behind the lens as always, and kristie, always game for dramatically basking in the sunset light with me, i knew that things were gonna be okay. 

i believe that 2014 is gonna have so much light in store. i'm ready.
