Just returned home from the Spirited Away play. It was fantastic - the attention to detail, the props and the music were gorgeous.

i know i start waffling on about the magic of live theatre every time i go see a play but spirited away has me once again rethinking the boundaries of what is possible to achieve on stage

the puppets, the lighting, the music and singing, the physical effects, the dancing and general movement of the actors, the staging and the beautiful incredible setpieces, the costumes, the acting, the MUSIC again...

this was magic on stage and theatre at it's absolute best. almost a word-for-word adaptation of the movie for 3 hours and i still didn't want it to end. fantastic acting and mind-blowing staging (despite the fact that i am limited by my languages skills and had to keep glancing away ever so slightly to see the subtitles)

kamaji and no-face in particular (but really everything that happened on that stage) just kept making me appreciate how the combination of practical effects, spectacular puppeteering, and the inherent suspension of disbelief in theatre really combine masterfully to create such a magical experience and i am so glad to have seen it

Had the great fortune of seeing the stage production of Spirited Away in London!!! It was gorgeous and magical, and I can't believe they're staging such a big show with all Japanese cast in its original language.

Anyways I was checking the cast list on the day and um

The version I saw had Romi Park as Yubaba/Zeniba. Park, the legendary actress known for being the voice of Edward Elric along other iconic roles. It was amazing to see her on stage!!

spirited away was AMAZING, such a beautiful production, 10/10, i have nothing negative to say. if you've been thinking about going, i'd do it!!

I saw Spirited Away at the London Coliseum and it was absolutely extraordinary. And I only realised when looking through the programme later that Haru was played by Mashiko Atsuki - Yoh in My Personal Weatherman in the performance I saw.

Anyway it's bloody amazing - go see it if you can.

DISCLAIMER: I LIKED almost all of the shows on this list- it’s a testament to the quality of theatre I’ve experienced in the past two weeks that I really enjoyed every show in the top ten and everything six and above was basically perfect. Went to London today to see the Spirited Away show! With @acetrainerliam It was a wonderful experience I had the best time it was surreal! 🥰 10/10

Spirited Away dress rehearsal at the London Coliseum! A few glimpses of the Coliseum itself and the curtain call, for anyone curious. The show will be running from 30th April to 24th August 2024 and it's well worth the watch, a few missteps here and there but visually mind-blowing! (28/04/24)

An absolutely magic afternoon in London Coliseum watching Spirited Away. Smilarly to Totoro, incredible stuff was done with puppetry/costumes/set design. Word of advice, if anyone is planning on going, don't repeat my mistake to get the cheaper tickets in the balcony. I usually don't mind sitting in the back but for this one Id definitely fork out a bit more money to sit in the stalls if I were to go again. Also, it's 3 hours long (although it is word for word the film, which is just under 2 hours), so

It's a wonderful show and props to the performer who was No Face in particular did an AM-AZ-ING job (and got the biggests applause).

saw the spirited away play at london coliseum tonight T_T im in love it was so magical >_< the actors' passion was overflowin the stage as the stars shined in my eyes and the world/stage building was so beautiful!?!?! ^_^_^ Kamaji was !!! and the susuwatari so fun and lin and haku were also dreamy and the stink spirit omg T_T
