we truly regressed when people started buying into the genderbending is inherently transphobic thing. yeah that twelve year old being inquisitive and having fun on deviantart was your enemy all along.

I'm so sorry, I'm absolutely losing it. I went to my neighbor's today to find out what I would need to do to care for their puppy this weekend, and This Fucking Thing appeared ajgldfkjhfg she is a turkey hen. you know, the birds who quite famously look like this

with no feathers on their heads, or very little, mostly along the spine/top of the head... and this gal just rocks up with not only a LITTLE bit of feathering, but almost completely covered. Even her WATTLE had feathers.

I use Spine (professional version)! I'm pretty sure it's the same program the Twst devs use for the chibis; I decided to try reverse-engineering 'em basically because my license was just sitting around gathering dust, and I thought it'd be fun practice (this was before I tried to rig Meleanor's cape). it is an industry-standard program and, unfortunately, is priced accordingly, so it's a bit expensive if you're not planning on using it professionally -- there is a free trial, though I think you can't save/export anything in it? BUT it is truly excellent and can do a ton of super cool stuff, plus is genuinely just fun to mess around in, so I 10000% recommend it to anyone who is serious about getting into 2D rigging!

AKHENATEN

uhhh let's see. I combined some sketches I did of Nefertiti and Akhenaten and ended up somewhere here for an Akhenaten design. in my heart, it's for a comic but there's so much visual research I'd have to do before I could even think about approaching a comic. oof.

anyway moving on: Akhenaten was a childhood obsession! and then I moved onto other things, as one does, but then a couple months ago I decided to check out some books and now I have a headache.

#i did outline my ideal high stakes political drama set during this particular dynasty focusing on akhenaten tho #all these historians have been just. straight up saying things about this guy for centuries and while some of it is absolute nonsense #some of the other stuff makes for EXCELLENT political thriller material #especially with the wider table of factions at play like yeah baby i see your father's policy style. i see you. i know what soundtrack #this kind of scene should have #ancient egypt tag #GOD there was a sword and sandals film that had their set design take notes from ancient egypt over ancient greece #and it was SUCH a cool meta narrative esp when you consider Egypt's impact on all the Mediterranean empires #like yes YES if the roman sword and sandal movies had a spine they'd do it too

#not to be dramatic on main but i'd die for Gotham!Alfred he's clinically insane #and he's exactly what Bruce needs they're so fucking toxic together (most affectionate)#like you look at Gotham!Alfred #and suddenly it's very understandable why baby Bruce turned into a bucket of feral ferrets the way he did #god i love them both so much they's so!!!!!#they grapple with each other and have their teeth sunken into the back of each others' necks so deep and it's pure affection and love #and it's honest and trusting but it's not kind #fucking delicious dynamic Gotham's Alfred&Bruce saved me actually #they're sewn together by the spine and they both suffer for it #alfred pennyworth #Bruce Wayne #Gotham #Gotham TV
