Rather than go to sleep like a normal, sane human who has a doctor's appointment at 4:50pm, I accidentally hyperfocused, stayed up all night, and finished spinning and plying this little yarn hank. 😅 Right about 100ft before washing, I think it's about 86ft after. 5.9 grams. Merino, two-ply. I still dislike this spindle, but I hit on spinning with the whirl upside down but on the bottom (long end up) and that proved to be … okay, I guess. I'd still rather use a toy wheel spindle but I can use it. However, I've decided I haaaate the balls it makes. I had to rewind the first one because I couldn't find the inner end, and I wound it back I the spindle in "proper" Turkish winding style to test the claim that you could just pull the ball off and ply. I spent more time trying to untangle it than I did actually plying. Next time I'm winding it off and handy-plying like I do normally. 👎🏽😤 It got washed together with my arm warmers I finished the other week, and they're both in the dehydrator to dry. #handspinnersofinstagram #turkishspindle #spindlespun #spindlespinning #spindle #handspun #handspinning #yarnmaking #makingyarn #making

Needed a new purse spinning project. Routed through my spinning wool... Not feeling it. Jumped into my felting stuff... And fell in love. Wont be super soft but hey, im planning on this being for ankle socks. :) had to hodge podge together things and theres some surprises hidden inside but so excited! :) i was able to come up with 3oz. And i have about .3oz of the orange left incase i need heels or cuffs or toes or something. i can toss a few in a bag with the spindle and im good to go again! #handspinning #spindlespun #handspunyarn #rolags

I was reminded by @fatbottompurls post that I had found my Knitpicks Turkish spindle recently. So, I got it out and did some spinning to see if my opinion had changed. It hasn't. I still hate it. In my opinion, it is in all particulars inferior to my $2 toy wheel spindles. I sincerely don't understand why anyone likes these. If I could find any of my toy wheel spindles, I'd wind the cobb off onto one of them, because I hate using this thing.
